You banned minigame 2
As some people requested im making a new tread so the old one can die.
RULES
You ban the person above you for something, then the person under you bans you for something.
Example:
Gabby: I ban creature C for having C in they're name.
Gabby 2: i ban Gabby for being a person.
Gabby 3: I ban Gabby 2 for not capitalizing "I".
etc...
Please ban the person above you.
Have fun.
I ban you for making a new thread
I ban you because we had hate in the last one multiple times so starting over was just better I suppose?
I ban you for giving in to peer pressure, instead of making people suffer for their mistakes!
HAHAHA!
I ban you because you like lego movies
lol
I ban you for banning them.
I ban you for being awesome!
And I ban you right back for suggesting that someone else could be awesome.
I ban you because Rex said so...
I (BAN)NISH YOU TO THE DARK REALMS !!!!!!
Because I want this one cluttering my tracking thread too :3
I ban you because I bonked you.
I ban you bcause you used a gif.
I ban you because GIFS are everything
I ban you because I need some help defending our old thread (because legends shouldn't fade).
I ban you because I'm debating with them for a few reasons. Basically, I just really like that thread, and its length amuses me. Secondly, you are newer here (no offesne meant by that), and, lemme tell you, the old SOD Forum was amazing! There were multiple threads a day, tons of people, and just a great vibe. And, before I joined, the Forum's looked even better! Like, it was amazing! So, that's part of why I want to protect the old Banned thread. It was created back in those golden days, and seeing it go would just be another reminder that the modern SOD Forum is lacking.
Also, my third reason for debating is that I don't really care for their attitude. They kinda just rolled up, stated their demands, and tried to bully us into cooperation. If they are going to win (and, right now, it kinda looks like they might), I want them to have faught for their victoroy. (Also, they did this same exact thing on another amazing thread at roughly the same time, so that just bugs me 2X).
OH MY GOD I COULDNT HAVE SAID THAT BETTER MYSELF
You're amazing!!
I've been on the old thread basically almost since the beginning when so many people were there and I totally agree I used to play it with friends and the fact it's such HUGE memory to me is why I really didn't wanna let go of it just because someone is unable to ignore the tracks in their perfect list...
I only gave up because I've got enough stress irl with work and people and I didn't really wanna come back home to solve some things with hardstuck irritating kids arguing about something that doesn't even need an argument but if you're going to ignore what they are saying and defend the old thread I'm definitely gonna help because to me it's important as well and I don't think it's against any rules to let it go because it's not spam (they use word spam for something that isn't spam in first place, spamming is repeating the same thing over and over constantly)
Hey! I'm glad you liked my posts.
There is something special about that old thread. Like, sure, we could start again. But...it just would not be the same. There's just pages and pages of random nonsense, but it was so enjoyable. Like, that numbers game. Remember when we all were losing our minds becasue we were almost at 1,000? A new thread wouldn't destroy that...but it wouldn't have that in its legacy either.
I really don't want to argue with them. As for Wolf and Star, I respect her, and, at its base, her request is fair enough. But then everyone just started jumping in, and it felt less like a request, and more like a demand. And, when that happened, I just felt I needed to defend our side.
Hopefully this can be resolved with minimal hurt feelings.
Yo!
I know what you're talking about, I couldn't quite put the feeling into words myself but to be honest I've been one of the most active people on the thread for all those years if you'd look it up you'd see me posting nearly everyday when others are posting too (I was only inactive when nobody posted) because I daily check the forums to see if there's something new to reply to and I've been there since year 2016 which is already when the thread was actively living for over 2 years. I've been part of it for over 6 years and it just feels like sanctuary at this point, those two minigames were the ONLY reason I was coming back to the forums everyday.
I felt proud of having something that was so amazing and great to keep up for ages and then someone like Wolf comes and crushes all my pride and joy. I understand and respect her opinion and request too, it does suck you can't untrack the posts you no longer wish to be part of but that's not my fault and nobody considers my feelings about the thread either.
I've also wasted my time on searching up around when Wolf joined that particular banner game and she joined when it was already ongoing for 2 years and basically her first post was already a half complaint about how long the thread is ongoing therefore I don't understand why she wilingly decided to join it in first place if she already found it irritating it was ongoing for so long and didn't seem to have end anytime soon...
I was going to defend the thread and state my opinion too but I'm quite fierce and impulsive person with anger issues at time, I get annoyed and irritated way too easily and I don't want to come out as rude discussing the issue therefore I rather stayed silent when it was bubbling up inside of me.
I understand it's stressful for Wolf to have it there and have always new posts tracked but it's also frustrating and stressful to me when I'm feeling like I'm emotionally abused to leave something that's important and dear to me in MANY various ways. I'm also working person, I also don't need more stress in my life.
To me, this new thread is literally just result of force and emotional blackmail.
I admire you for putting the wise words there and discussing in names of many others and well personally me, I really value you a lot for that, it does takes the stress off my shoulds so you've got my absolute gratitude.
Hello again.
What's funny, is that I don't really recall seeing you anywhere else on the Forum. However, whenever I think of "You Banned" or "What Number," you instantly pop up in my mind. Like, going back through those threads, I knew I could always just find you there.
Same. Honestly, I think we'd all agree to forming a petition and spamming the admins until we got a response. I would gladly join them on such a nobel endeavor. But for them to show up on our thread, and basically demand that we stop because of something as minor as a notification, is really annoying. I feel like at least 75% of them aren't even considering our side of things.
That's an interesting find. I wanna check that out. Do you remember what page/post-number that was by chance, or know the approximate location? (If this debate continues, I might check the other people too).
I think it's great that you know yourself that well, and that you decided to not engage at first. Also, thanks for showing your support for what I was saying. Means a lot (and helps me, becasue I don't want it to seem like I'm the only one taking issue with this).
I agree. I doubt it was intentional, but I definitly felt like there were forum users who were trying to bend our emotions to get their way. Like, you are only a good person if you do what they want. Especailly since some of them seemed to shun our emotional attachment to the thread.
Yeah. Whether this thread becomes the new Banning loation or not, I hate how it was created via arguments and upset.
Thank you for saying that. I don't want to stir up trouble, but I also didn't like how they were treating us. Considering how they all showed up at the same time, I'm guess this was a planned thing. I just wish they had come up with a more organized and professional approach, instead of making a bunch of individual posts that basically said the same thing, and then arguing with anyone who disagreed. Wish there had been maybe a group PM, where it was an open discussion.
Greetings.
That's probably because those two minigames are literally the only two thing I've been active on for the past several years. I stopped playing SoD ages ago so all other threads became irrelevant to me but I didn't wanna let go of these games due to the people and memories I had with it. I dwell on past quite a bit so sticking around was just kinda a thing I was doing like a ghost that sticks to their place long after they died ahah
Also the reason like you said you know you can always find me there, sometimes I wonder if someone who hasn't been on for ages will randomly come back and see the old thread and come say hi again or find me again, would be cool as well
I would definitely vote for untracking threads too, although personally I don't really mind even if I had tracked posts I no longer want to be part of but I can understand for some people it can be irritating so I would help them out to get their way on that as new feature of the forum.
Not quite sure what page but I do know the number of the exact post as I took screenshot of it and the post number is 3719 so it was around page 70 - something? I found out I joined around 20th November 2016 :)
Honestly I deal with people a lot in real overall so when it comes to me being home going through internet, messages or games or anything I just sort of want peace and if someone disturbs it, it can get me really irritated and angry so I try to spare anyone of my own wrath and just decide to ignore for the better outcome, that's also why I suggested to ignore Wolf and everyone who is forcing their ideas onto us but it only backfired again since she said she feels hurt by it. We're literally strangers so I don't feel guilty about it, feels like she's just trying to make me feel guilty about something absolutely unecessary but that's just how I see it.
The whole thing that triggers me a lot is that before Wolf said anything there NOBODY cared the thread was ongoing for ages, we were all just hanging around and peacefully chatted and played the game but then Wolf showed up and suddenly another 10 people agreed with her out of nowhere? They say they just didn't want to say things out loud but to me it's coming off really weird? Or am I the only one? To me it's kinda like nobody really minds but as soon as someone who gets annoyed by it shows up and say something, suddenly another several people take their side and I feel like they don't even really care for the outcome, they just join in the drama or fight or whatever is going on there. I can't quite explain it but you probably know what I mean. (And no I don't suggest that Wolf intentionally turned several people against the rest of us, I'm just trying to say it's amusing how all of sudden so many people seem to mind when until Wolf said something nobody seemed to mind enough to start abusing us into creating new thread)
Hello, once more. :)
That makes sense. Thanks for explaining. If you don't mind my asking, what made you quit the game? Also, yeah, it would be great if some of the older uses came back. I hate how a bunch of great players left over the past few years. Really is a shame.
Same. I keep getting notifications for "The Dragoness" fan-fiction, and I haven't opened it in over a year (even though I still wanna read it). The notifications aren't really that big of a deal. You glance at it, realize it is something you are not going to read right now, and move on. No big deal. I guess I can see how that could be annoying to some, but that is ultimalty a them problem, not ours.
Thanks for the info. I look forward to checking it out. Also, now I wanna see your first post, just because I'm curious what sort of introduction you did, and if it included a cool gif.
I definitly can get wanting to escape. I'm the sort of person who mostly avoids arguments, but, if they hit me just right, I will be more than happy to deabte with people. I enjoy the back and forth when two people of nearly equal will debate on an issue respectfully. It is fun to me in a weird way. As for your comment about ignoring Wolf, I fail to see how that is a big deal. We did that for the Numbers thread, and it avoided a whole lot of drama, and that thread is still going strong.
Oh, I agree. There's something weird about it. If they all were avoiding and ignoring our thread, how did they all know to show up at roughly the same time to take a stance? I suspect that there were many PMs about the issue, and they all decided to show up at the same time. (That's just my theory though). If that is true, then I wonder why none of them decided to PM us and state their reason there, instead of just bombing our thread with their demands. I would have been a lot more willing to listen if they have politly contacted us, explained the situation, and put forth their request.
Hi again :)
The game just got boring to me. There wasn't much to do anymore plus the community was...not much my thing as I grew older I guess. Way too many kids, way too many people just trying to date and all that. Plus the game really doesn't care for its players at all with all the bugs and stuff. I've come across other games, significally much better that still keep me playing such as that Genshin Impact I mentioned earlier.
Completely agreed, I like clearing notifications as well but won't go crazy if it doesn't especially not on this forum where it's not that difficult to just ignore. Yes, it isn't really my or yours or anyone else problem they do mind, unfortunately.
My first post on the game was actually really awkward, well I was like 6 years younger ahah, it was slighty after that Wolf's post actually, I think my first was around 4070 :)
Understandable, I avoid arguments too mainly because most of it isn't worth my time and I can imagine wasting my time better ways than arguing with not important people to me. Or anyone in general. Exactly that was my whole point, avoiding drama by ignoring who is causing it is best in my opinion, the more you try to talk back against someone the more material they will have to keep the whole drama ongoing and drag new people joining into it. It's a never ending loop repeating over and over so my suggestion about just simply ignoring them stands although I threw new idea on the other thread about giving up one of the games and continue with the other seems reasonable too. I just don't really like being accused for being rude just because I suggested that ignoring is also a way and probably better than attacking each other but when new people who literally join in last year or something decide to hop in and just be straight rude (such as the last post from someone on the other forum) really ticks me off, but then again, someone like that not worth my time
I agree with you on that last issue. It's whats going on through my mind as well since until just lately nobody seemed to give a glance on the thread or complain but suddenly there's numerous people complaining and some even seems to literally have nothing to do with it and yet they join in the argument? It's beyond my understanding, perhaps just some seeking attention or drama, really ruins the imagine of the whole Wolf's request for me though.
Hello there!
Oh, I totally get what you mean. This game is a complete mess. When I play, I try to keep it on Single Player, and I mainly do the quests. The events are fine, but I only do those for the maze, and for the first few pirzes. They actually make me play the game less.
I'm hoping that your idea works out and that we can reach a compromise. I know it is not perfect, as we lose our thread, and they still get notifications. But I think it is a fair trade.
Cool. I'll go check that out soon.
I totally see your point. If this was a straight up discussion, of course we shouldn't ignore. That would be rude. But things got out of hand, there were a bunch of people arguing, and nothing was being resolved. So, yeah, ignoring would have been a perfectly fine fix. Also, yeah. When that one user hoped on and started cussing us out, it made my stubborn nature flare up, and I momentarily had the urge to abandon all hope of compromise just to annoy that one user. Alas, I'm glad I didn't, as that would have been an immature choice on my part.
Yeah. Like, I believe that Wolf didn't intend for all of this, and I think it was just a bunch of people jumping in. Like, I think people saw the notifications shoot up, decided to check it out, and then jumped in with their opinions, instead of sticking with the facts. This would have been over so much quicker if they had just hoped on and wrote something like, "I agree with Wolf, and I request that you move threads." We would have seen the number of supporters, without rehashing the same things, or getting into debates.
I ban you because I totally agree. I ghosted this forum for three years before joining and all the threads were amazing and there was tons of new and interesting content everyday. The newbies are trying their best but it's just not the same as the old crowd. It's funny I'm saying this because I'm a comparitively new person myself, but I really feel like I've been around for ages and I know everyone on here because I've been watching this forum for so long :)
Also I have to say I was very impressed by how you held your own when all the grumpy forum members came after you (from what I've seen it's hard to argue against Wolf). And you are one of the only people I've ever seen to respond while de-escalating the situation and staying polite so massive respect for that. I read all of your posts about the issue and I was super impressed the whole time ^^
Also I just had a thought. We can say whatever we like about the people who gave hate on the previous thread, and they won't be able to respond because they'll now be tracking this one AHAHAHAHA
Oh, I absolutly agree. The old threads were amazing. I actually went back earlier today to check on some that I had almost forgotten about. Like, back then, there were tons of fun, unique fan-fictions (not always the best written, but the concepts were there). There was some great nonsense! It felt more like a community. Man, I miss that.
Thanks. I respect most of them, and I really don't want to cause problems on these forums. We all know each other, even if we are not all friends, so I don't want to cause issues. Like, while I don't always agree with Wolf, she has done a pretty good job at expressing her side of things in a respectful and diplomatic manner. I don't really understand where she is coming from (as notifications don't bother me), but I do get how things like that might be annoying, and I respect her for explaining things. The other Forum users...they were a little more difficult, not gonna lie.
Well, you're not wrong. ;)
Same! Even if they weren't super interesting, everyone was in agreement and it was such a united community. I randomly stumbled across this thread while looking for something else, and I was so struck by how completely trivial the topic was, but how seriously everyone was taking it and how they all agreed with each other and were super passionate yet polite. Also the fact that that was the biggest problem they had at the time lol. It actually made me smile. That's the kind of community we need to be :')
Yeah, Wolf is great and I've seen nothing but good come from her not just on the other thread, but all across the forums. I feel bad this blew up in her face like it did (to clarify, I don't think you were really part of that). And also the notifications annoy me too after just a few months so who knows? After eight years I might want to speak up too. But yeah, I was going to suggest the exact same compromise as Tamra did so I'm glad it ended up being a good plan for all parties.
I ban you because I wouldn't suggest anything like that against Wolf, just let her be and don't argue with them at all. You know the best counterattack is ignore, posting in the old thread isn't harming anyone therefore just keep playing if you want to, they can't tell you what to do if it's within the rules (and they aren't mods either)
Imo, thats the best solution. If you won't give up and will just ignore whatever they say and not give them a reason to argue they will most likely let go eventually and give up
I ban you because I've already stated it before on the original thread that I'll only keep posting if other people keeps posting too obviously I wouldn't just keep posting myself to annoy others but if others genuinely wants to just play there I am willing to continue since I do agree with Lack Lunason's view on the whole issue.
Again - we, who kept normally playing it were causing no harm to anyone. The fact they said they're organized tidy people who wants to clear out notifications is understandable but like...(this might sound rude of me to say it like it is) but is that our problem? lol
I'm also someone who needs all notif cleared out and yet I never complained or tried to ki.ll someone's thread...
I ban you because I do think it would be wise to discuss our options, and our course of action. I really don't want to continue debating if, in the end, no one returns to that thread, and it fades anyway.
What are all of your thoughts? Should we go back and debate further? Should we go back, ignore the arguments and play on? Should we try to nagotiate with them further and see what comes of it (Wolf did offer to do drawings for us as payment to leave)? Or should we just call it quits and stay here?
It is also important to note that, whatever we decide here, it may effect the "What Number Can We Get to" game.
I ban you because I am not really happy with moving here, obviously I'm gonna be here if you're all here but I'm also willing to stay where we were in first place since that's where it feels more home for me.
I feel like this second thread is soon about to disappear anyways.
I don't really need to be "paid" with art for doing something I'm not willing to do, that's even more leaning towards abusive way of command someone into doing something in my opinion but maybe others see it differently.
I ban you because I agree. That place is the traditional home of us Banners, and it feels weird to do it anywhere else.
Yeah. Maybe this thread will live on, but the modern Forum is not the most reliable place. And anyway, seeing how it was started, it feels tainted to me.
I definitely see that. I respect Wolf for trying to find something postive, but, with everything else that happened, it doesn't feel right. Like, it feels more like a bribe than a good will offering. I am down for free art, but I will have this attached memory that it was payment to give something up. Like, I don't think the intention was bad, I think it was meant as good, but it just doesn't sit right to me.
Yo, guys. So, I just posted again on the old thread, and it's not really as diplomatic as the others. I tried my best to be respectful, but I started venting a lot too. Hope you all don't mind.
I ban you because I banned myself which makes me banned which then makes you banned then makes others banned then makes my cat banned then everyone is banned for banning banning.
Also you are banned if you have a stroke after reading this. ;)
I ban you because honestly I don't mind at all Lunason - if it was me I'd lose my cool LONG ago, I mean I play League of Legends after all I might be immune to toxicity but I'm full of rage lol
Also hi Defender :)
I ban you because I'm going to write a longer response to you later. But, right now, I need to start getting ready for some RL stuff.
I don't play that game, but, from what I hear, I totally get what you mean. Honestly, I love how we were cussed out because we weren't bending to their threats, guilt trips, and attempted manipulations.
Imagine how different this would have played out if they all just peacefully approached us and simply put their request forwards.
I ban you because no worries, take your time I usually show up only once a day on forums as well but due to what was being discussed I wanted to show up more often to find a solution, shame they didn't like the peaceful discussion :)
Could have gone a lot nicer for everybody if they just accepted any of the given compromises we were willing to make, unfortunately they decided to sweep everything off the table and just go plain rude therefore that means end of any futher discussion for me and just do like I was doing until now whether someone minds or not. We tried, we wasted time and now it's time to just reclaim what we had before they all started putting us under pressure and be mean for literally no reason.
Hey everyone.
I present the idea of making a compromise with the other party who wants to get rid of both minigames we've been keeping up for a long time. I've come to a solution where both parties could be partly happy and partly giving up something and that is to give up one of the thread to hideso it can stop bothering the others and keep alive the other one for however much longer it will be able to keep on continuing until it dies on its own. Wolf agreed to that compromise therefore I assume the rest of them would agree as well and that's why I ask you to support it and make this compromise official as it seems like a best way to keep peace between all of us and keep both sides happy with the result. This way nobody wins or loses, both sides gain something out of it and lose something in the process, to me it looks like a fair deal and Wolf agreed it is better than keep up the fight forever.
What do you all think? Are you gonna be fine with that?
Either way I agreed to it so I'm gonna restrain myself from posting there until we all agree that's a fair deal, hope we can all come to an agreement like that. Do let me know if you agree so we can officially close one of the threads together.
Just archive the old thread to "preserve your legacy" and keep playing on this new one. You could even save a link of it or something if you want to revisit memories.
The issue with the old thread was because of SoD forum's bad web design, people couldn't untrack the old one. If the people complaining of being bothered by the old thread because of that problem TRACKED this new one and complains, then that problem is on them. (And for any new player who plans on tracking this thread, be warned: You can never untrack threads in this forum. Ever.)
I can't believe you guys made such a big deal out of a small petty thing, move on and continue playing your mini-game through this second one that won't bother no one, goodness. Was all that mess really necessary? You shouldn't be so emotionally attached over a mini-game thread to the point of fighting other forumers. And even if you are, that's not a good excuse over such behaviour.
Anyways to whoever's gonna reply to keep the game going, skip over me please. Cute forum mini-game but I don't really want to participate in it. Or pretend you're banning Headmaster. That guy needs a time-out in muting people in-game.
I ban you because I'm goona pretend I didn't see that.
Also, who thinks there should be more SOD fan-art?
I ban you because I'm very sorry for being more inactive these days, I'm quite busy (lot of work, getting ill, issues irl) but I wanted to quickly check on you all, I hope you are doing good! I'll read all the messages on here that I've missed later and reply to it when I got more time, no worries!
Just was curious, do you guys actually still play SoD? I'm pretty sure I have reinstalled it several times already since the time I stopped but most of the time I reinstall the game, the game doesn't even wanna open or just crashes on me so I sort of gave up but I might give it another try on the weekend or so
I ban you because someone actually posted here im surprised.
