Why is the forum so laggy lately?
Read the title. The forum has been very laggy lately, and I consider myself lucky if I'm even able to reach my track at all.
Yeah, I am lagging a lot too I have no idea. I would think letting Thread owners delete old Threads or if they are not active enough in like a month or something would help with the lag :\

You're not the only one, it's nearly impossible for me to even get on here in the first place, I consider myself lucky for even being able to make this post. And I definitely support Siren-Spirit's idea, perhaps it's lagging so much because there are so many old threads clogging everything up.
It is super slow for me too... I sure hope this gets fixed soon!
Same here, I love posting to replies and cant get to the thread. I heard that sometimes if theres alot of activity it effects loading the Forum as well
i understand!!! sometimes it works fine for me other times it really slow or wont let me on at all or wont load threads and it really annoying

Yup. So laggy.... Now I'm just making new dragons on my art program while waiting for the forum to speed up :/
It's horrible! I can't get to my track half of the time! For some strange reason it seems to be happening at certain times of the day, but perhaps not.
It's really aggravating me that I sometimes can't get to my messages either, because I always want to reply to them quickly. Or at least SEE them!
All of your long signatures filled with big images and gifs is definitely one of the problems. Could also be that this forum's never had a good cleaning since it was made.
I thought that might be the case. I've been deleting a bit of mine every day to see if it's helping.
That makes sense. Heck, I was even lagging a little just from scrolling through this thread.
You know, I wonder if these forums have ever gotten a really good cleaning, there's so many old threads that just lie in the dusty corners of this site to rot and to never be seen again. If a good majority of those outdated threads were deleted, just think of how fast the forums would be.

I hope the Admins take that into consideration and delete all the old threads. If they haven't been used in, say, 6+ months, just delete 'em. They're just stacking up like old, forgotten books.
There are a few really good storys that would be lost because of random deleetion of old threads but some selective dealeation of unimportant things would be good. Say for instance the hundreds of hacker related things and other general chat that each was only ment to be there untill the exact thing being talked about was over with. Hype threads for instace. (When people are talking about a new thing and when they are done the threads just sit there never to be used again) I think that would help or at least give people the option of dileeting their own old threads and promot doing so. (might be better because admins wouldn't be blamed if somthing important to someone gets dileeted) Besides that though in all honisty I think it's just laggy because this week it's spring break for lots of people and so a lot of people are on around this time.
