What can you buy with...gems?
Hello!
Gems are rather hard to obtain, despite the many methods you have to get them. Moreover, a lot of things in the store cost gems.
So, why don't we all share ideas to buy things with a certain amount of gems? (preferably under 1000 gems)
You can also say how many gems you have and ask for suggestions.
I'll start - with around 600 gems, you can buy, for example, a razorwhip egg.
With 1000 gems, I could buy around 40 Kegs of Mead for my hideout. idk what I'd do with all of them, but yeah, that's what I'd do. Actually, I'd probably buy a couple rare eggs. Or one egg, then I'd make it a titan. Or i'd buy myself some saddles. Oooh. Maybe I'd get myself a ferrari...I really need one of those......
That last part " Oooh. Maybe I'd get myself a ferrari...I really need one of those......" I love it its funny!!!! Thats one of the most expensive cars being around $301,000.
For vikings who only have 1000-gems-budget, I would recommend to buy...
- ...a scauldron egg (750 gems). Even though my beautiful Thea is already a titan, she was also very efficient in battle events in her adulthood. You have quite a good chance to get gold chests with them, especially if you know how to camp (I don't btw: I never tried and never want to try, but we get gold chests anyway :'D). Plus, they can be very productive at Under the Sea stable quest.
- ...a screaming death (1000 gems) – without making him/her a titan. My brother has both a titan and an adult screaming death, and the adult one performs better in battle events, however incredible it is. Plus, they are very helpful and hard-working dragons when it comes to stable quests.
- ...a hobblegrunt (750 gems). They are ferocious warriors in battle event and valuable members of "Lab Assistant" stable quest teams.
- ...a titan stone to your whispering death (500 gems). A titan whispering death is not only good at battle events, but also in stable quests. If I remember well, The Long Patrol also encourages the recruitment of whispering deaths. I have two titan whispering deaths (Threnody and Revolver), and I don't know how I could succeed without them. <3 They are the perfect mentors to all my teens and adults.
- ...a titan update if you have a sand wraith/shockjaw/nightmare as a beginner dragon (500 gems). When I was a newbie, I invested in a titan stone to my beautiful Heidi, and it paid off in battle events: we nearly everytime got gold chest. And if I want to spare gems with my secondary viking, which is my newer account, I go to battle with Elektra/Desdemona, her titan shockjaw/nightmare.
- ...a mystery stable if you haven't bought one yet (300 gems). There are many videos on YouTube which show where you can find the gem chest there which refund the price of the stable. ;)
- ...a trial membership (300 gems). Then, you get Toothless, who can go to Dragon Artist stable quest.
I hope these advice will do good, and if something comes in my mind, I will add it. :D
I'd like it if the Scauldron Egg was a little lower in gems though. For players that are not members (I am not) it is hard to stumble upon gems. I know we can watch videos and do battle, but it is hard to get them sometimes. Great ideas here though, I'll take them into consideration after I have enough gems to buy all the expansion packs. I'm currently at 612 gems. :D
I can totally understand this. My parents don't allow us to exchange "real money" to money in games (which is justifiable imo), so my brother and I have a harder time earning gems than the adult players/the ones whose parents are less strict. (My sister is another case: she somehow can't spend gems on phone – and her laptop is broken –, so she doesn't have another choice but to save.) Moreover, final exams are coming, so many students have to prioritize studying to gaming, and one aspect of earning gems is the time you can devote to the game.
I even hesitated whether I should buy a scauldron egg: I already had a screaming death and four hobblegrunts, plus that 750 gems could be used for nearly anything. And that 500 gems to her titan stone... I had to manage some austerities after I bought The Hidden World, even though I sacrificed my learning time.
And yeah, I think it is more clever to buy the expansion packs first. :D Good luck and thank you <3!
Yeah. My mom and dad don't know I have SoD lol, they'd freak if they did. I'd be grounded till I'm 25. So asking them for gems is a no-no. And yep, I want to save for the exapnsion packs because the expansion packs give free dragons. Then I can focus on getting dragon eggs & things for my hideout. :D
You're welcome! <3 :)
Jesus, how can you keep is as a secret? :O Your parents are very strict.
Haha, I've been keeping it since January! Most people think that it's super hard to keep it a secret, and it is at times, I'm not going to lie. I almost got caught once, but I managed to erase the game the reinstall it back on later XD. Yeah, my parents are very strict. But if they did know, I'd lose all my friends from the game and quite possibly not talk to you guys again.
But... you live together with them... and only once? If you happen to be hard up, you can even commit a crime and got away easily with this ability xd. And I think we all would miss you if you got busted. :(
I do live together with them. And no, no. I've almost gotten caught waaaaaay more than only once. I know, which is why I try to hide it as best as I can. When I log onto the forums, I've got to erase the history that I was on it on my computer, just in case. And I install the game on and off my mom's iPad and my phone to be able to play. It's hard sometimes XD. I'd miss you guys too if I wasn't able to play & be on the forum anymore. :(
Hey, you really know something if you can play on your mum's iPad without getting caught. :D And... do they supervise your browser history? :O It's a bit radical (for me). I mean, as far as I am concerned, they disrespect your privacy. I don't know you very well, but I don't think that you would sell your kidney to an organ trader or transmit money to a Nigerian prince, so they don't have much to worry about. xd Furthermore, in SoD, you cannot even share personal data due to chatban. (Due to chatban, vikings cannot even talk to each other, so...)
Haha, I guess so. I just download it on and off and erase all the traces lol. I think they do. Once I go to bed, I think they might grab my computer and check it or my phone. I said I have strict parents, no? No, I'm not one of those people. I'm sensitive to other's feelings and such, but not to the extreme that I'd give money to some random person out there.
Agreed! Today I tried to say: Good luck in battle, guys! I got chatban for an hour. The chat is really very funky lol.
Gems are SO easy to get! You get like fifty per WEEK for Thor's sake!
What do you mean with hard to obtain? I always thought it was so easy to get gems. It just takes a small amount of patience.
With under 1000 gems you can buy a dragon egg, or a stable, or clothes. Or anything in the store priced under 1000 gems. :þ
Gems are actually pretty easy to get. I've gotten 375 already today and its only eight in the morning, and I have 1767 gems on my account that I dont know what to buy with
BUT
if I could make anything cheaper in the shop, it would be farm and hideout decor.
especially hideout decor.
you cant even interact with any of the chairs or beds or drawers, and considering how much you would have to buy to actually fill your hideout and make it look really nice, some of it is too expensive in my opinion. but I cant complain really because I chose to spend 400 gems on Creeping Charlie plants so..
ANYWAYS back to what I was saying
if I had 1000 gems... and i could get anything.. I would buy a bunch of stables so I could fill them all with buffalords.
How did you get 375 gems and it's only 8 in the morning for you? :O
ok so I reset the stable quests every 10 minutes, even if im in another app, I leave my viking in the stables and just keep ressetting them until i get gem quests, and then i send my dragons. even if you only have a 40 percent chance of victory, you should still send your dragons, because believe it or not i got victory on a gem quest with only 35 percent chance of success and got 600 gems from it
I personally speed up the quests because im impatient, but i dont reccomend doing that because it is expensive, and there IS always a chance that it will end in defeat
Cool! I will try to reset the stable quests until I get some with gems. I will also continue doing battle events and watching videos. Thank you for the tips!
