A very interesting, surprising tie-in with two totally different movies
Just recently did a watch the first Hobbit movie, An Unexpected Journey. and at one point saw something that I was in complete surprise.
Towards the beginning of the first Hobbit movie when Gandolf is looking at the map of the mountain, look at the print that is on the map.
This print is exactly the same as the viking rune print found in the Book of Dragons from Httyd.
I don't know who on here gets Lego Club Magazine, but one of the puzzles from the current magazine is about the new Hobbit movie coming out soon. It is a decode the message puzzle. The Key for the code is the exact same as the viking rune print found in the Book of Dragons from Httyd. This puzzle in the magazine totally convinced me that both prints from both movies are exactly the same.
What are your thoughts on this?
PS, the reason I put this topic here is because the topic is about 67% not related to Httyd.
Hi there!
I'm 99.9% certain both prints are Norse runes. Dwarves, both in legend and many literary works are entities of Norse mythology. Vikings also prayed to the Norse gods, so it would only make sense that their written language would be similar. ;)
hmm They do look similar, but do they translate correctly is the question. That being said there are also differences
Book of dragons;
Speed unknown
size unknown
the unholy offspring of lighting and death it's self. Never engage this dragon. You're only hope is to hide and pray it does not find you
Thorin's Map;
I am unsure what the runes say, I don't think it's the prophecy(Only on the last light of durin's day stand by the stone door as the thrush knocks only then will the light shine upon the keyhole.........that is not a word for word accurate wording of the prophecy). I think it says something about Thror(I can't quite remember exsactly)
