Titan comparison/study (From SOD/TU/ROB)
I want to put together the titan from three game: School of Dragons, Titan uprising and Rise of berks. This thread is not meant to critizice or saying which titan is the true titan or which game is more canon than the other. It's only meant to study the difference, (although I might be a little bias toward Titan uprising because seriously I love how they do this)
and yeah I could go to wiki and read the titan tab but well I still wanna do this
Another thing to note:
- I will not put glow or different colorization into consideration except for some species like Thunderdrum or Gronckle
- I will not put School of dragon model quality into consideration

Part 2: Book of dragons
Whispering Death
TU: Longer spikes, Three claw wing
ROB: Longer spikes (might have curl a little?), Longer snout horn, Three claw wings
SOD: CURL spikes, three claw wings, Longer curled snout horn, Three claw wings
Over all: TU is really subtle while SOD is really extra
Timberjack
TU: Extra horns, different patterns, longer side chin nubs
ROB: ??????? different patterns
SOD: Extra horns, different patterns, longer side chin nubs
over all: TU and SOD finally see eyes to eyes
Thunderdrum
TU: glow, Longer snout horn, longer spikier back, twin tail spikes
ROB: glow, Longer snout horn, longer spikier back
SOD: glow, Longer snout horn, longer spikier back, twin tail spikes
Over all: Unity, aside from the lack of twin tail spike in ROB
Skrill
TU: Spikier back, Glowing, Longer head spikes(?)
ROB: Spikier back, Glowing, Uneven head spikes, Twin tail spikes, Bigger nastal horn
SOD: Spikier back, Glowing, Uneven head spikes, Twin tail spikes
Over all: Like most, ROB and SOD mostly follow each other while TU go for more of a subtle route
Boneknapper
TU: Extra horns, Three wing claws.
ROB: Dragon head for tail, Ribcage for back spike (twin back spike)
SOD: Extra horns, Sharper bones, eye color changes
over all: Suffice to say SOD has the most obvious changes considering I've been staring at both tu and Rob for days until I notice the difference but out of all the dragon they have most difference between three version even though it is the less obvious.

Part 3: HTTYD2 + HTTYD3 dragons
Stormcutter
TU: Extra frills one even shoot up to look like horn, longer horn that curl at the end, bigger tailfin(I saw the model in motion now, the back spike are the same as broadwing stage maybe they multiples but it's not thing too significant)
ROB: Bigger tail fin, Different wing patterns imitated feather or scale(might have been special scale), longer horn, wings and frills have edges of a sort
SOD: Extra horns, Jagged wings, Diffen/bigger tail fin, Twin back spike, Scale/plate on the back.
Over all: Ok forget what I said about the boneknapper, what the heck, SOD took the different to the whole new level and over all all three is really differnt. Interesting bit I find being that the extra 'horn' seem like a horn in SOD version with in TU is more like it's from the frill
Rumblehorn
TU: Longer horn with three extra edge outward, special marking on wings, longer nastal horn
ROB: Different armor plate and wings, no clear refernce on horns unfortunately
SOD: Longer curl in horn with extra edges inward, special marking on wings, Longer nastal horn
overall: ROB took its own direction while TU and ROB mostly follow each other but still differ in quite hilarious ways
Deathgripper
TU: Bigger helmet-shaped crest, different pattern, multiple curved tusks, bigger spikes on arms with reds on them, beefier crookier arms, bigger sting tail probably
ROB: Bigger helmet-shaped crest, different pattern, multiple curved tusks, bigger spikes on arms with reds on them, beefier crookier arms, bigger sting tail probably
SOD: Bigger helmet-shaped crest with ragged spike on top, different pattern, multiple curved tusks, armor-plate like scales on arms with reds on them, beefier crookier arms, bigger sting tail probably
Over all: I forgot to keep track of when this trend has start but finally deathgrippers marks the trend where all three games follow after each other respectfully, you go dreamworks finally talking to each other

Part 4: Series Dragons
Razorwhip
TU: Frill extended from under the plates One which sigificantly bigger like horn(may have been extra horn). Underneck spikes
ROB: Dot marking, Bigger armor-ier plates with edges, especailly near the top of the head, prettier curve on nastal horn.
SOD: Dot marking, Armor-ier plates with edges, Sharper nastle horn with extra edges,
Over all: Like most, Tu takes its own direction while SOD and ROB mostly follow each other direction.
Buffalord
TU: More mane-like scale on neck, Longer curvier horn, Extra nastle horn, More spikes, especially near wings.
ROB: Longer curvier horn, Bigger spine
SOD: More mane-like scale on neck, Longer curvier horn, Extra nastle horn, More spikes, especially near wings.
over all: Very similar, although it's hard to tell on ROB detials.
Snow wraith
TU: Different wing pattern, Bigger frills
ROB: Sharpier and Thicker spines, frill and nastal horns,
SOD: Shark face, lose of nastal horn, Snow pattern wings and tail, Sharper and longer/thinner spines.
Over all: All three took different direction with tu again being the most subtle, ROB being more extra than usual and SOD...just goes crazy with it.
Triple Stryke
TU: 4 Head bigger longer head spikes/crown. Bigger longer middle head spike. Bigger spikes on pincers.
ROB: 4 Head bigger longer head spikes/crown. Bigger longer middle head spike. Bigger longer Spine Spikes. With two noticable Bigger spines near the back (not shown in the image)
SOD: 4 Head bigger longer head spikes/crown. Bigger longer middle head spike. Spikier pincers with bigger spikes. Not shown in the pic but the coloration option for titan TPS head and chin as similar color and also noticalbe longer teeth and has Bigger longer Spine Spikes.
Overall: Another Dragon that having the same concept and directions. Still I can pick a few small differences
Dramillion
TU: Bigger, slightly curver horn different coloration
SOD: different coloration
ROB: different coloration
overall: honestly what, titan dramillion is always a mystery like yeah that's pretty faithful to the show but still. on that note. ROB is more faithful than SOD in term of coloration but still what. Unfortunatly, there's no blue titan dramillion in titan uprising for direct comparison but overall it's the subtle titan that follow the same direction
Fin for now, the only likely update for the future are when TU release sentinel and scauldron. Unless SOD release more titans or TU include more dragons SOD already titaned in the future
Just gonna track here.... Interesting stuff.... :D
Part5: Misc, Hero skin TU vs SOD
At first I'm not sure if I should make a different reply for this, technically I could edit in the picture into the first post but I don't vibe with the layout and this gave better reference comparison so, my thread my rules XD
also no ROB because there are no changes in their titan stage. Also big F for Hookfang, Cloudjumper, Skullcrusher and Windshear because I already used their picture as above reference

SOD: Bigger/Thicker crown spikes come all the way to chin, Three claw wing, Longer leg spikes, Spikier back
Over all: Similar concept but very different spike shapes, with TU stay closer to the original stage (lean and long) and SOD thig and round
Barf and Belch
TU: Longer Nubs, Longer BLACK Horn, Longer Chin nubs
SOD: Three spikes in place of nubs, WHITE gour head horns, SPIKES chin, curl wings
Over all: Again SOD go for spikier look with whitehorn while TU just long-ified every thing and keep the horn black, white sharpen vs black stretch?
Meatlug
TU: Nub turn to spike, sharper wings with fleckles, bigger tusks
SOD: Nub turn to spike, evern more spikier, bloo.d vain, bigger tusks
Over all: Aside from the fact that SOD got meatlug color wrong (but that's unrelate to the titan comparison) like nadder, they go for the same concept but very difference result. TU simply replace all the nubs with spikes while SOD also add more spikes. The wing for TU is very different tho

Part6: Only two games comparison, TU
okay I go for the two comparison after all, first with titan dragons release only in uprising compare to ROB
Crimson Goregutter
TU: Sharp atlers, the arm bumbs/freckles become sharper, the head spine become more promanent
SOD: Sharp atlers, the arm bumbs/freckles become sharper, the head spine become more promanent
Overall: same direction, all new dragons post httyd3 seem to be like this now
Thunderclaw
TU: even bigger sail, the head spine become more messy instead of go along down the back, isn't sure about the nasle and chin horn size
ROB: Even bigger sail, Tusks, Multiple sharp chin ledge like beard, sharper bigger nasle horn and spine
Oveal all: different direction
Hotburple
TU: all bumbs become spikes
ROB: different head structure and eyes position(?????), sharper spines and over all slightly sharper bumbs/nubs
Over all: I like Rob version but at the same time what
Changewing
TU: curl nasle horn and curl up side horn, three tails(!)
ROB: curl nasle horn and curl up side horn
overall: actually same direction! wasn't expecting that(aside from the tail)! TU has tendrils but that's more of the model thing than titan thing

overall: not too different but I can't say that it's going for the same direaction

ROB: Two deer-like atlers, bigger curler spine, longer tail spikes. differnt pattern, bumbs on chin
overall: over all same direction yet looks different

TU: biger spike on head creast, all bumbs become spikes and is spikier in general especaily on the back, nasel, chin and tail
ROB: Bigger head creast with longer spikes on it, spikier nasel and chin
overall: surprisingly, TU took the SOD appreach this time and spike-ified everything while ROB actually take more TU-like subtlity
Fireworm queen
TU: Curling crown, chin spike, now has spine spikes, spiky tail
ROB: Curling crown, now has spine spikes, diffrent type of scales(?)
overall: Over all not too different, the tail being the most difference of the two but I did see one of ROB individual have it so ???
Catastrophic Quaken
TU: ULTRA SPIKES
ROB: Over all spikier especially the jaw spike
Overall: They looks visually different because TU take their spike game too strong but overall they do head toward the same direction
Eruptodon
TU: It's hard to say because all TU titan are the glowier version of themselves but I'd say the major difference is the back spikes and the head side spike
ROB: No change in feature and anatomy it just looks like the dragon is about to explode
Overall: Hard to say.

Part6.5: Only two games comparison, SOD edition
On the different end of the last one, this time we focusing on titans that are released in sod compare to rob, a lot of us might already be aware of this comparison. I will not include dragons I foresight to be release in TU soon tho, such as scauldron sentinel and such
Speed stinger
SOD: tendrils everywhere, eye brows, bigger fins all around
ROB: Multiple head fins, bigger fins
over all: very different direction
Grim gnasher
SOD: longer curl head horn, more horns, two ways spikier backs, red fleckles
ROB: longer curl head horn, more horns, spikier backs, red fleckles
overall: The age where these two game as well as the rtte show follow each other faithfully
Shockjaw
SOD: Bigger head fin, tusks, multiple horns, bigger tendrills nubs (also glow), glowing eyes, bigger fin all around (and more fin-like than spine like) tail horns, one bigger tail fin, sharper wings, glowing dots
ROB: Bigger fins all along the back, multiple horns, bigger tendrills nubs (also glow), glowing eyes, tail horns, glowing dots
overall: listing all those features are mouthful, make me appreciate how much changes they made. SOD and TU turn out to be very similar aside from some details, it's probably a later titan where they start to sync up their similarity between games
Wooly howl
SOD: multiple brown horns, longer mane-like scale dropping down almost like tendrils and around chin/underneck, tiger stripes, sharper tails, sharper longer scales that also coating the legs
ROB: antler-like horns, scales on wing, bigger tail, branch-like scales on the back, scales coating the legs
overall: I remember this is probably the time where SOD made their titan more similar to ROB there're still a lot of distinct difference though and I think overall SOD making all those feature distinct and less subtle.
Hobgobbler
SOD: bigger, longer sharper spine and nasle horn
ROB: bigger, longer sharper spine and nasle horn
overall: exactly the same, they're later dragons so it's no longer surprising
Flightmare
SOD: Multiple head spikes, longer nasel horn/spine/chin lendge, fire-like ragged wing, longer teeth, tails has multiple spikes and tailfin now
ROB: Bigger spine/nasal horn/chin lenge ,longer wing tendrils, longer teeth, tail has multiple spikes now.
overall: I'd say they take things differently. It's a different direction for sure but still looking similar side by side, weird huh

SOD: Longer leaf like spine especially on the tail, nubs on head turn into spike, sharp nasel horn, sharp teeth.
ROB:Longer leaf like spine especially on the tail now has sharp edges, nubs on head turn into spike, sharp nasel horn, sharp teeth, freckles
overall: major difference being the sharp spine vs round spine, uncharacteristic for SOD, they are round this time, other than that nothing too different

SOD: Bigger head fin, longer horns, longer nasel horn, longer wing tendrils, bigger spine
ROB: multiple longer horns, longer nasel horn, longer teeth, longer wing tendrils, spikier spine
overall: for something so difference they're surprisingly has a lot in common, I think the only major difference I see bwing the mutiple horns, the teeth and the head fin wait actually that's a lot

Part 7: Hybrids (and spin off?)

TU: Honestly identical to the normal one I can't tell the difference
SOD: Bigger longer curve horn, bigger spike, Bigger teeth, Bigger spine, just bigger body in general
Over all: Humbangers are praise for having faithful titan when in fact there're quite difference as you can see here but you know what? I'm glad they adjust the changes. I do like SOD titan form a lot.
Hushbogle
TU: Maybe Multiple lines of spikes along the back, different wings pattern. Additional spikes on the head, crown shaped head
SOD: Multiple lines of spikes along the back, different wings pattern. Additional spikes on the head, crown shaped head?
Over all: It look similar I think, pretty hard to tell about the spikes from TU's angle and SOD's head crown isn't as prominent. but the shape definitely feel different from the adult version

Over all: It looks similar although SOD version apendages doesn't look significantly bigger/longer compare to TU version if I check on the different image comparisson between adult and titan Zipplewraith (might be due to the apangages is already big on adult form for SOD version)

Over all: go into the same direction with slight difference, Rob lack spikes and SOD spikiness might due to model quality but it's also too on the nose that I think it's intentional.
