Timer Racing Ruiner
A short but sweet post, since I'm going straight to the details. Dreadfall Valley is still bugged and will make racers lose trophies if exited. Worse still, that doubles to the racing penalty, which can exceed up to 22 minutes. Download both the SID website's version of SoD and the version on Steam, then do this when it applies, this will also work if stuck in another track:
When you find yourself stuck, either on the downloadable or steam version, log into the alterernate version. If it happens to the one you've just logged into, reverse the process. The results are not being stuck, for one, and not dealing with the racing timer anymore.
If it doesn't work for you, then perhaps there's another way to rid the timer entirely. But maybe this will help any constant racers- That's all from me.
This is just exactly like Cold Winds in Thawfest all over again. It's sad how much SoD underestimates the importance of Thunder Run Racing to function well.
It's purely stupid how the players are the ones who have the figure out a 'fix' to the problems in the game themselves, instead of the developers doing their job, which fixing the bugs/problems in their game that's their responsibility.
Anyway, there is also:

If you're on PC, click on Ready to Join and immediately press the 'escape' key. Just leave it like how it is in the picture until you find a race. If you found one on Dreadfall Valley, click on Yes. Then it'll get you to exit TRR and can just go back in and you won't get the useless time penalty.
Note: From what I've noticed, the "Are you sure you want to exit?" sign needs to appear first before the sign saying that you're joining a game room for this trick to work.
Oh my gosh tysm for this. It's saved me like 5 times in 3 minutes XD
Answer to Note: Doesn't seem to be the case for me. As long as it shows up I'm able to escape.
Thanks for the advice/trick. I feel like I have no reason to play the game in an event except for racing on limited-time tracks which they should totally keep, but maybe make the event tracks rarer than the classic tracks. Speaking of classic tracks, bring back Gronckle Run. And while you're at it, Bring Back Old Armor.
As someone whos's workin hard to get to the 10k trophy goal this is jus plain frustrating bruh
Like why u wanna release new tracks without giving em a test drive first?? If devs tested things before releasin probs they would realize that some things they wanna add aren't nowhere near functional.
It really is sad tho. Out of all seasonal tracks i've raced, the Dreadfall tracks are some of the best in the game and i really wanna race against peeps on the Valley one. And honestly it ain't take no Einstein to see why many bros are leavin the game during Dreadfall...
Honestly all the tracks are getting tedious sometimes. We are just so sloooow. Can't they make the speed boost rings speed people up a little more? This is so bad especially in super long tracks like Dreadfall Valley, Twisted Rock, Poison Valley and Nightmare Tide. Also, bring back speed armor. Seriously, I can't imagine how slow people without speed armor feel.
edit: Just remove the flippin' racing penalty devs. It was a little useful back when dummy vikings were used way too often by way too many people, but now that the practice of using dummy vikings has died out a little bit, just remove it. It is useless. It punishes us for avoiding hackers or people we don't want to race. Get rid of it.
i kinda think the devs dont realize that one of the most annoying things ingame rn is havin a half hour time penalty jus bc they didn't give their tracks a test drive themselves. like srly, a 30 minute wait bc it wasn't our fault the tracks ain't working the way they're supposed to?
not. cool.
i call it Torture Run Racin.
Adding the time penalty feature did way more bad than good. It's actually totally useless, and just did nothing but made TRR worse.
The use of dummy vikings for trophies was barely even a case that occured in TRR in the first place. It was never the most effective way to use dummy vikings for trophies, barely anyone did the method in TRR. It was literally just a couple 'famous' players that's known to have done it. What's popular and has always been the popular case is using dummy vikings for Fireball Frenzy. The practice is still alive, and adding the time penalty feature in TRR just encourages players more to move their trophy earnings to Fireball Frenzy.
Update:
After experimenting, leaving both versions of SoD (steam/website) seems to work on tandem with what can be accomplished. Providing a set of steps, now.
Step 1: If locked in a track, open either SoD Steam or SoD website download accordingly. Leave the other one open (aka two SoDs are open.)
Step 2: Use your log in information and immediately enter Thunder Run from your character selection (If not done, then you'll be stuck in a freeze that can only be fixed via exiting the game entirely. The penalty timer will not be vanquished either.)
Step 3: If the version you're on locks you, then repeat step 1 with the SoD that's open. It will say that you need to log back in, do it. Vice versa, etc.
If all of this doesn't work for you still, then try Explodantor's method. The choice is yours.
