Again, sorry for the delay.  Have been fighting writers block all week.  I know what I want to happen, just getting typed in and getting it to sound right is the difficult part.  I now have a better idea of what I want and have even gotten half of Chapter 40, Family Ties Part 3, done.  I will be posting the 3rd part tonight, or when I get it done.

Things are really going to get intense by the end of this chapter and into Chapter 40.

Please comment after you have read.  I love reading them and love any kind of feed back.  :)

Hope you guys enjoy! :D

Chapter 39

Family Ties, Part 2

With our swords pinned against the other’s neither Truvor nor I made angry ground.  Truvor looked extremely angry; I probably look very determined.

“Man, truvor,” I spoke.  I could not hold him for much longer, so I baited him again but with what I said next, “You look angrier than usual.  Did you practice that face in front of a mirror or something this morning?”

Truvor took his focus off of pushing me and eased up in the very slightest.  I was thinking to do something similar the last time I tried to overpower, but thought of something else.  Since Truvor lightened up on me, I am able to move if I needed to.  I figured Truvor would try to push me even harder this next time.  I will use that against him.

“You are too smart and funny… for you own good!” Truvor said and then started to push back at me even harder.

But as soon as he resumed to push me and drive me back, I had freed up my stance so when he began to put pressure on his sword, I fell backwards.  I let his force intentionally knock me over.  This caught Truvor completely off guard; even more so than the first time.  As I fell to the ground, I used my feet to knock Truvor over head.  My head did hit the ground; however, I have learned how to fall and used my momentum to continue to roll over on my shoulder and got to my feet.  Since Fredrick is right behind me, I saw Fredrick head bump Truvor further up into the air.  Immediately upon getting back to my feet, I returned my sword to its sheath on my belt and then mounted Fredrick.  Truvor, finally landed on the ground and slowly got back to his feet.

“Hey Truv or Trev or whatever you want, I like Trev better, Anyway… Do you have a dragon; because I have one?” I had Fredrick fire at Truvor.

I thought for sure he would jump out of the way, as he did before, but he let the blast hit him.  The blast carried him back several yards before fall off the edge of the Isle!
          “Truvor!” I exclaimed.

Seconds later, Firestorm flew up in front of me… with Truvor riding him.

“Aw, Jarl.  I didn’t know you cared,” Truvor announced sarcastically.  Then asked rhetorically, “Oh… Did you forget?  I have a dragon too.  Firestorm Fire!”

Firestorm charged up a blast and fired, Fredrick had only seconds to react and maneuver in flight out of the way of the blast.  Firestorm continued to fire at Fredrick and me, so we “retreated”.  We flew further into the island, yet that is what I was trying to get him to do all along.

A smaller dragon could just fly in the center of a Whispering Death’s fire blast; although, when you have a dragon which has a wingspan of nearly the length of its body that of a Thunderdrum, you must dodge every shot they make if this was not blatantly obvious before.

As we flew, the weather around us continued to worsen with the approaching storm; the wind steadily picked up with the temperature dropping slightly.  From a weather point of few, the coolness feel to the temperature is not good.

I took the longer way around to the center of the island, flying mainly on the outside of the Isles with the water beneath me.  One of the reasons is to buy time.  Also, I wanted to see what Firestorm is made of.  I noticed I Fredrick had a faster top speed than Firestorm; on the other hand, Firestorm could make up the lost ground with his turning pitch.

Fredrick and Firestorm seemed in more control of the flight than Truvor or I.  Yet, Fredrick still listened to my queues when I nudged him with my foot.

Upon coming to nearly the direct northern side of The Golden Isles, I abruptly changed course to fly towards the center of the island.  Using a pattern of nudges from my feet on Fredrick’s sides, Fredrick then opened his mouth as much as he could while at the same time opening his wings to catch all the wind thus abruptly stopping us midflight.  Fredrick angled upwards, so when my dragon executed this flight maneuver, Truvor and his dragon zoomed past underneath us.  Before Fredrick had slowed completely, I tugged back on the reins and held my right foot against his side.  The slight tug back is to start a loop.  My foot held against his side is the command to angle or turn right.  So instead of a stop, drop, and roll, Fredrick did the stop, loop, and turn.  As Fredrick headed towards the center of the Isles, I looked back to see where Truvor had gone.  He had disappeared.

This worried me.  I slowed Fredrick down to regular speed, normal speed.  On the good side of things, this allowed Fredrick to catch his breath.  Even though we had only flown for less than five minutes, it is always good to rest your dragons when you can.

The center of The Golden Isles is in the same valley of that of where Moonstone’s home is and south of the large cove.  I had Fredrick circle once high above the ground below.  There is still no sign of Truvor.  The nerves and worries are starting to heighten.

“This can’t be good,” I thought.

Landing on the ground below, I dismounted.  By what I remember of Hyrith’s talks we had, the center of The Golden Isles have some significance.  He never told what the significant things was, but when we planned out several different scenarios of how events could have unfolded and what we would do, every single plan involved the center of The Golden Isles.

“I hope Hyrith plans to clue me into what that is,” I pondered.

I took a quick survey of the land around me.  Off in the distance to the south I could see the forest where Moonstone’s home is.  Where I am now looks to be the northwestern most corner of the valley.  There is a slight rise in the landscape around me which is hills.  Although there is a cave right in front of me, twenty yards away to the north.  Beneath my feet is another large circle.

I thought again, “This stone circle is similar to the circle near The Seal.  It has similar writings on it.  There has to be a connection to this and other similar circles I’ve seen on The Golden Isles.”

I swiftly made an examination of the stone circle while walking around the circumference of the circle.  Inside this twenty yard circle are four, smaller, ten yard circles.  The smaller circles made up an indefinite square shape.  The actual square that can be seen is drawn from each origin of the circle, connecting it with both adjacent circles.  Overlapping these smaller circles is a slightly larger circle in the middle.  The larger circle is inscribed inside the square.  The sides of this slightly larger circle cross into each of the four smaller circles.  In the center of each of the four smaller circles is a certain picture, every picture being a foot in length and width.  In the northwestern circle is an eye.  The northeastern circle has a snowflake.  A zigzag line which looks similar to a lightning strike is in the southwestern circle.  Finally, the southeastern circle has a… Sharp Class symbol on it.

“Wait a second,” I said out loud.  “Sharp Class, snow, eye, and lightning.”

I saw that the Sharp Class symbol is etched into the stone to make it look like it is behind a picture that looks similar to that of a Speed Stinger’s tail, and a Speed Stinger is in the Sharp Class.  Going to the southwestern picture next, I bent down to blow off and wipe the dirt and dust that is blanketing the whole stone circle.  I saw that there is another picture underneath the lightning strike.  It is the Strike Class.  Behind the snow picture is the Boulder Class symbol and behind the eye picture is the Mystery Class symbol.

“Would a dragon of each respective class have something to do with this stone circle and what it is used for?” I started to think about something, but then realized, “Truvor still isn’t here?!  Where is that dude?”

The ground started to shake beneath me.  It felt like an earthquake is happening.  However, I knew it is something different.

I reflected on what I had just thought, “Be careful what you wish for.  You might just get it.”

Out of the hill came Firestorm!

The force of Firestorm bursting out of the ground caused several chucks of dirt to fly up.  What comes up must come down.  Before I could start to run after reacting to Firestorm, Fredrick grabbed me and got me to safety faster than I could do myself.  The dirt chunks crashed to the ground, stirring up dirt around us.  The air did not settle for some minutes.

Truvor was still on Firestorm, but jumped off the hovering Whispering Death to the ground below.  Something is different about Truvor.  He is wearing medal of some sort.  Studying the medallion further, from a distance, it is Anora’s charm necklace.

“Jarl, Jarl, Jarl,” said Truvor shaking his head.  “What are you doing?  Buying time for your friends to escape?  You disappoint me.”

“Why would I disappoint you?” I questioned.  “Aren’t you getting what you want?”

“Yes,” he replied.  “But I figured that you of all people would have a better plan than this.  After all the planning and work I have put into these past years with planning my revenge, all you do is sacrifice yourself for the sake of your friends?  You are only delaying the inevitable.  I will get to your family and friends eventually.”

“Not if I can help it,” I retorted.  “This ends.  This ends right here, right now.”

“Oh Jarl, I couldn’t agree more,” Truvor had a very weird tone going on.

I then saw why.  In sudden entrance of Firestorm, the pommel I had in my pocket must have fallen out; maybe when Fredrick grabbed my tunic to get out of my then impending danger.

Truvor grabbed the pommel from the ground and smacked in back into place on the bottom of his sword’s handle.

“Now, that feels better,” Truvor related.

It looked as if Truvor straightened up more.

“Maybe each mystical weapon gives its user a regenerative energy boost,” I thought.

“Now,” Truvor stated.  “This can go one of two ways:  First, I kill your dragon then kill you.  Or, fight you and then kill your dragon.  Take your pick.”

“They’re both the same, you just reversed the order and reworded it,” I declared.

I slowly reached for my sword, but it is not on my belt.  My skipped, though I tried not to let it show on my face.

I then stepped in front of my dragon and said, “If you are going to kill my dragon, you are going to have to come through me.”

“Oh I intend to,” Truvor professed.

As I stepped in front of my dragon, I subtly slid my right hand underneath my tunic to grab the dagger; one of the other mystical weapons.  I held the dagger behind my back, and kept thinking: “Staff, Staff, Staff…”

“So, this is how it ends,” Truvor pointed his sword at me.  “Prepare to feel my revenge!”

Truvor pressed a gem near the middle of the cross-guard… and it fired!

I quickly whipped around the dagger… I mean staff in my hand pointed at Truvor.  A sonic-like “BOOM” could be heard, yet I did not see anything or hear anything.  However, I sure felt like something is trying to attack me from all sides.  I felt coldness around me and darkness trying to get to my mind or heart, yet it I could still see the light of the day; but at the same time felt like something is keeping it at bay.  There is still light, even though the wind is continuing to whip around as the storm is still approaching.

Truvor looked quite surprised and astonished, “How did you learn-..?”

“About how to use these weapons?” I finished the sentence for Truvor.  “I paid attention in a ‘history class’ and learned the rest of the fly.”

“Well now,” Truvor smiled.  “This just got a whole lot more interesting.  I take back what I said.  You are smart… maybe too smart for your own good!”

Truvor charged me and me him.  This time, I had a staff for a weapon.  So in this case, I had to be more on the defensive than offensive.  A staff is not much of a weapon, if you do not know how to use it.  Fortunately my father taught me a little bit on how to use staffs, clubs, or bats or mainly a strong rod as a weapon.  With a staff, treat it like a sword but adjust your grip for better handling.

Doing battle with Truvor, I thought that the wooden staff would break.  However, with the staff being a mystical weapon… anything is possible.  Maybe the power held with this weapon can make the wood stronger than it looks.

Fredrick looked like he had just eaten an eel.  It must be the effects of Truvor’s sword.  However, it seemed like it barely even affects Firestorm.  If this sword does what I think it does, casting fear into the eyes of those it is attacking, Whispering Deaths live like that constantly.  I suspect that since Whispering Deaths are very sensitive to light, their eyesight must be skewed somehow make the effect of the Fear Sword practically non-existent.

Truvor battled fiercer than anyone I have ever faced.  His skills with a sword would rival that of my father’s.  Truvor used a one handed grip with his right hand.  With this grip you are either cocky to show off or you are quite skilled to do so.  Facing Truvor, I think it is a little bit of both.

Good thing I trained with my father when he first got back.  But what is against me is not having as much training with rod fighting as much as I have with a sword and even more so with the bow.  That being said, Truvor was able to get in several jabs and punches with his left hand while I was blocking his attacks with his sword.  I was able to throw in a few hits of my own, but my skills with a weapon of this sort were failing.  Without the power of my mystical weapon, the punches would have done more damage than I feel.  Maybe they have, but the power of the staff is overcoming the feeling of pain.

See Truvor look like he was winning, Truvor got cockier.  He toyed with me as intentionally missed me several times.  I tried using the environment to my advantage.  But Truvor seemed like a totally different person with the active power from his own mystical weapon.

I continually felt the coldness and darkness trying to get to me.  With each progressing blow I took, the empowerment I am feeling from the staff is seemingly wearing off.  Then again, it may have something to do with the fact that in my mind, I am just stalling for time.

Truvor continued to back me up against the cave.  With the thoughts of stall for time, the power from the staff was escaping my body.  My thoughts are directly affecting the weapon and its power I possess.

“Why is this happening?” I considered in fear.  “Does the power of these weapons affect the user by what they are thinking?  There has to be a connection as when I think about a dagger, it turns to the dagger; the same goes for the staff and the glove.”

My body is starting to fail me as I felt the pain come finally from the blows I took.  Truvor realizing his chance grabbed my throat and pinned me against the side of the cave entrance.  In that moment, I dropped my staff and felt immediately the coldness and darkness rush over me.

Truvor look menacingly at me as I started to choke.  Clawing at his hand to no avail, Truvor said with a heinous tone to his voice, “Jarl.  I am winning and I am going to win.  Killing you right now is not what I had in mind as I wanted to make you suffer by watching me tear your family apart one by one.”

          Struggling to talk as I am trying to breath, I said, “Care… ful….. what…. you….. wish……. for!  You…… might….. get…… it!”

Truvor again looked like the past times I was just about to overpower him.  Again he eased up the pressure on my throat.  I put the last bit of energy I felt I had into a kick.  I push as hard as I could against the wall behind me, lifted up both my legs, and shoved him back.

Truvor recovered and looked like he was going to strike me down… until something struck him from behind.  He fell to the ground with an amber substance on his back!

When Truvor had pinned me against the cave entrance, I had seen off in the distance from the south coming from Moonstone’s cave, Hyrith, Annabeth, Cazi, Asvord, and Elsa.  Anora had between her legs, Sirena; who fired upon Truvor.  No later than Truvor falling down, did the feeling of coldness and darkness flee from me as Truvor lost his sword when he was hit.  I felt like normal with very slight pain from the blows I took.  The Fear Sword must have made things feel worse than they actually were.

Before my friends and sisters landed next to Fredrick and dismounted, Sirena fire three rounds of blasts at Firestorm’s mouth which in turned knocked him to the ground keeping him from firing back.  Sirena added a fourth blast which pinned Firestorm’s tail against the ground.  Firestorm however tried his best effort to get free, but could not.  I ran over to my friends, picking up the now dagger which I had used and the sword Truvor was using, on the way.

Before they could utter I was alright, they asked me if I was.  I answered I am now, but then I asked, “Where is Vlarrin or Hawk?”

          “They escaped,” reported Asvord.

“What?!” I exclaimed.  “No, no, no, no, no!  We need him.”

“Why would you need either of them?” questioned Elsa.

Trying to speak quickly I said, “Because them just being alive is all the evidence we would need free our father.  I need you two to go after them and capture them.”

Asvord grabbed my right arm as I practically shoved my sister back upon her actual dragon Spiker.  Asvord demanded, “I am not leaving you behind to be killed.  I was able to come back, I’m not losing you!”

“If you don’t find Vlarrin or Hawk,” I said as I helped Elsa back on Meatballs.  “We won’t have a father to go back too!  If that happens, our mother will be devastated.  We’ll be fine.  Now go!”

Asvord made a flat smile and nodded at me, which means she agrees with me.  Spiker and Meatballs took their riders away.  I watched my sisters fly away.

A thought then crossed my mind, “Will I ever see them again?”

Clan: The Phantom Family

Gender: Male

Nadder: The Golden Nadder (Aka: Sun Rose) - Female -

Sun Rose was my first dragon in the academy. She was actually from the Golden Isles, collected by Johan when he saw her (in egg form), hanging off a cliff. He caught her, and took her to Berk. She was my main dragon, and still is, in the races. She also helped out in leveling up the others, by helping them do the quests untill the very end, so they would get the XP.

Really Playful, Loyal, Doesn't like night time.

Likes to Eat:

Eggs, Eggs, and more Eggs.

Favorite thing to Do:

Play with the other Dragons, her favorite game is Fetch the Chicken!

Intresting Fact:

Every year, she flies away for 1 month, as she also likes to spend time on her own.

The Golden Nadder/Sun Rose by AniuRavenwolf! Thanks!

Thunderdrum: Sonarus (Aka: Sonus) - Male -

My second dragon, Sonarus was sorta of a pain. Since from when he was born, he was very wild and crazy, and even more hyper. He loved to jump on people's shoulders and roar in their ears, then run away for me to apolagize. Whispering Death: Thunder Quake (Aka: Da King, Da Racing Champ) - Male -

I found his egg in the tunnels, and Hiccup let me keep him. When he hatched, he looked at me for one second, and then, well, decided he wanted to be free. He jumped out of the stables, and started slithering to the forest. I chased him, freeing him from bushes, rescuing him from drowning, and TRYING to feed him when he was hungry. One day, a wild smokebreath appeared, and for some reason, Da King thought he was, "The King", and decided to take him on. He started dealing blows to it, but the smokebreath won in the end. Before it laid the final blow, though. I jumped and used myself as a human sheild. It hurt, but I was fine. I called in Sonarus, and he saved us. He put his trust in me, and I have helped him ever since.

I ran home, and placed her on the hearth. 3 days passed. Nothing. Thinking she was dead, I sadly sighed, and put my hand on her egg. Suddenly, a bright golden glow spread around her, and she was born!

In the morning, I set out with Waterspout, hoping to find Sonarus. After 5 hours of searching, I spotted something green, and something blue side by side. I patted Waterspout on the side, and we dove in. To my suprise, it was Sonarus and another Thunderdrum! Studying them for a bit, I found out that the blue one was Sonarus's mate! I tamed her, and since then, we had a new addition to my family.

Zippleback: Sunrise and Sunset (Aka: Dawn and Dusk, Pimp and Pump)

- Male -

Kinda weird... Ok, so, I went to trader Johan's eggs, and found a dragon egg chest. I asked him could I buy it, since I had just enough gems. So, he said yes, and I got a rumblehorn! Yay! One of my most favorite dragons! Excitedly, I took it home, and put it in the hearth. Later on, I checked on it, and hatched it... then, to my surprise, a baby zippleback popped out! What?! I looked at it, it looked at me, and it was silent for a few minutes. Ok... weirdness attack. Whatever, he's still a baby dragon. I held it, and it's left head turned toward the sunrise in the distance. So I called the left one Sunrise. We played for a bit, then the sun was setting! This time, the right head turned toward it, and I named it Sunset.

Nadder: The Silver Nadder (Aka: Moonstone, Silverstar, Diana) - Female -

So that's why Sun Rose leaves one a year, she's going to visit her sister, Mooonstone. How did I know this? I saw it myself. When she left, me and Thunderquake went to she where she went every year (Yeah, kinda like a stalker, but who knows if she goes mental and starts killing everything? Actually, TMI), she flew into a cave. I waited until night, and suddenly, a silver nadder appeared, and flew out. It came back at dawn, and after it went in, Sun Rose went out. They did this, then I couldn't take it anymore. I need to find out who this dragon is. I crept in, and the Silver Nadder shreiked, then flashed it's wings at my face. Startled, I stepped back. It snarled, and backed away. I decided another plan. When I saw Sun Rose, I signaled her to come to me. She first, well, was startled, then frightned. After face-palming myself, I tossed a fish on teh ground. She ate it, and after gaining her trust, I stepped in the cave with Sun Rose, and soon enough, I found out that this new dragon was Sun Rose's sister, and I took her home.

Typhoomerang: Topspin (Aka: Big guy, Wirlwind, FOOOM) - Male -

This one is a sad one... So there was this typhoomerang that I knew very well. We met in a forest, and even though we were friends, I didn't tame him. Dunno why I didn't, he was awesome. So, a few months late, he found a mate and they had a baby typhoomerang. Then suddenly, his mate died. I felt very sorry for him, and because he had to feed the baby, he left the baby typhoomerang with me. We formed a bond, but in the Chilling Horror month, he went to get some fish... and never came back. I waited for days, and I fed the baby myself with some perch. My friend never came back, so I chose to adopt the baby myself. At night, he would have terrible nightmares, and he would go to my room and sleep with me. He had a serios fear of Backbiter, and I was sorta heartbroken that even though Backbiter wanted to play with Topspin and wanted to stick with him, Topspin always was scared of him and either attacked or flew away. But I know, that one day, the nightmares will pass, and the two dragons will grow to respect each other. My typhoomerang... my Topspin.

Sandwraith: Sandstorm (Aka: Puppy Dragon, He-who-burrows) - Male -

It's funny how a fishing trip can befriend a dragon. So I was spending some time on my own (Raising a ton of dragons is tough, I need a break), and I was fishing and camping out on the beach. I just caught a bunch of halbut and salmon, and I was frying a salmon. *Growl* Huh? I looked up, then left and right. I then felt the ground move, and I looked down. Two eyes stared back up... "YAH! WHAT ON EARTH?!" I jumped back. At that time, I never knew what a sandwraith was. I'm new here, ok? The sandwraith exploded form the sand, and looked at me. Silence for a few seconds... then he wadled to my basket of fish and started eating everything like he didn't care. "Hey! That's my fish!" He didn't listen, and ate all of it. He then turned, and studied me. He looked like a nightfury, so I was intrigued. He then jumped and flopped on me and started licking my face. "You're like toothless!" I laughed, and he licked some more. "Hey, boy! Stop it!" He kept on licking me, and he soon decided that follow me was a better option than chilling in the sand waiting for who-knows-what to go over him. Smart kid.

Seashocker: Aquashock and Waterskiz (Aka: Zapduo) - Male -

So, a few days ago, I received a present. Not sure who sent it, or why, but I got it. It was wraped in colored leather, and when I opened it, I found an egg. I couldn't tell the species though. It was colored in multicolors, with "Thanks Hyrith" written in bright yellow paint. I shrugged. The only way to find out the species is to hatch it. When I picked it up, I was shocked. No, not the suprised shock. The lightning shock. I fumbled with it, and Telsabeam jumped from the roof. I think she sensed it was a skirll, so I shuddered. I don't have anything against skrills, just after Telsabeam almost burned down my house becasue she saw a fly, I've been a bit careful with her. I do not need another crazy lightning-maniac shooting around my house. I ploped it down on the hearth, and after a few minutes, it shook. I picked it up, and took it to the lavepit for it to hatch. It never did. It just shook, but it never came out. Just before Telsabeam was about to crack it open, Waterspout stared at the egg, and shot a small stream of water. The water touched it, then it cracked. Puzzled, I dipped my hand in water, and touched the egg. Where I touched, it cracked. Then, I actually figured out something. I took the egg to the sea, and placed it under the water. It shuddered, then a seashocker was born. I was extremly happy, and I thought all my dragon were too. Well, except Telsabeam. She grumbled a sign of disappointment, and wadled away. XD

Aquashock is agressive and fierce. Extremly loyal, and will attack anything that he thinks is harming me.

Waterskiz is playful and wild. He loves doing tricks, and is usually the reason why they have so much scars. For some reason, he's addicted to shrimp.

We Are Not Alone, A Chinese and Western Crossover (Later on)

5 months after Hyrith disappeared...

"Who's there?" Jin sat up on his bed. It was 12 in the night, and most of the academy was asleep. The footsteps sounded louder this time. Jin pushed away the covers, and put on his combat glove. As soon as his hand slipped in, a small flame sparked in his palm. The footsteps stopped, and a creaking sound was heard. Silence. He waited for a while, and figuring that there was nothing, slipped off his glove and pulled the covers over his head.

"AHHHHHHH!" A scream peirced the cold air, and Jin fell out of his bed. In a hurry, he shoved the glove over his hand, and opened the door. He lit his glove, and the flame ignited in his hand. Across the balcony, a hooded dark figure stepped out of a room. Jin stood in a battle stance. The flame in his palm grew into a fireball, and Jin shouted to the figure.

"Who are you? Take off the hood!"

The hooded man turned to Jin, and removed his hood, revealing an old man with a long white, whispy beard. The fireball died down. "Master Zhang?"

"Yes, my young student. Why are you here? You should be in your room sleeping, not outside watching the snow fall."

"I woke up because of the scream. Did you hear it too? Did someone get hurt?"

"That was the reason I came, young one. Go to bed, the final practices starts tomorrow. Do you want to get the blade or not?"

"Yes master, but safety is more important. Mind if I investigate with you?"

JIn bowed, and the old master smiled. "Jin, investigate this floor. I'll take the top and bottom floors. Meet after 5 minutes." Jin looked at his old master. He was not usually that kind, but Jin shook that thought out of his mind. He needed to see if someone was hurt.

"Found anything yet?" Master Zhang glared at Jin, and he looked into the final room. Another sleeping student. "Nothing, master." Master Zhang looked at him, and smiled. "Well, I think it's settled. Let's have a seat, shall we?" Jin shrugged. The master jumped, and sat on the railing. Jin climed up to him.

 "Anything, Master?"

"Nothing yet, child. Forget this. It's a good night to be alive, is it?"

"Yes, I agree. You checked every room?"

"Every room, youngling. How about you-" A howl penetrated the air. A Howler flew towards Master Zhang, and the yellow and black dragon growled. Wait. Jin looked at the Howler, and noticed something. That was Dai Pow, Icarus's dragon. He never submitted to anyone, not even the master, except Icarus. Dai Pow circled Master Zhang. He glared at him, and then glared at Zhang.  He kneeled, and Zhang grumbled under his breath. "Curses. Stupid howler." He then looekd at Jin. "Let me see Dai Pow first." He jumped off the railing, and Jin looked as he kneeled and clasped the wingless dragon's head, speaking some words. JIn nudged myself over, then he felt something. JIn looked down, and he saw blood on the railing, where the master's hand was. Sticky, freash blood.

   The last room...

Jin shoved past the master, and to the final room. He didn't check it, since it was the room the master came out of. Jin ran past, and saw a stream of blood running from under the door. He slammed it open, and he gasped in shock.

Mei Hua layed dead in her bed, a large bloody gash in the middle of her chest. Her mouth was open in shock. Jin ran to her, and noticed that the blood was freash. Impossible! The master just was in here! Master Zhang would never commit such a crime! A hand then went over Jin's shoulder, sending a chill up his spine. The master glared at him, his mouth curing into a evil grin. Shocked, Jin tried to speak. "What? How? WHY?!" The master smiled. "Yes, Jin. I am the one. Sorry, but I can't have any witnesses." Suddenly, Master Zhang's form flickered, and instead of the Master from before, a red haired boy, stood in his place. He suddenly jabbed his palm at Jin's chest. A blade then shot out, coming out of Jin's back. Jin gasped, and he fell to the ground. His vision slowly filled with black dots, and he thought his last thought.
