Rosie!

I smile and look at Name he seems nice and all but maybe too enthusiastic.

"Well a story would be nice I have second watch anyway sooo...." I grin and settle down closer to the fire. Byrn out the soup there so I eat a little of it and it's good and I tell him so. He doesn't answer so I think he's a asleep.

I look at Lucy's and he smiles at me and begins to play on his guitar while one of the others tells a story.

I settle in. The others are going to sleep but I'm not tired yet.

Byrn whoke just as Kame was finishing his watch. Getting up noislessly, he stretched and grabbed his cloak. Swinging his quiver over his shoulder and grabbing his bow, he walked into the center of camp. What was left of his stew was still in the pot. He turned up his nose and went to dump it just as Kame was walking over to Fergus to try and find him. Walking close to the riverbed, he crouched down and washed the pot carefully before drying it with his cloak and returning to camp.

Whistling gently he got Lake's attention. Letting the scoundrel get to sleep while he started patrol. Hopefully the overly enthusiastic fellow would soon realize that this trip wasn't a game.

Walking hopelessly around camp he found Gail's watch chair, which both surprised and pleased him. She was a young lady of means, string, he had to admit, and certainly clever and rescourceful. The only downside to her piece was that he couldn't bring himself to use it. Walking was more his style.

Gail Cyrek ~20~

"Anyone has a good campfire stories? I know we've been traveling the whole day but they're still some time left before the proper time any of us would want to hit the sack anyway. The fire is nice, sure you don't want to join in?"

Gail sighed and removed herself from her rock as Shifty spoke.

“Haven't good stories since I was a kid." Chivalry muttered.

Gail leaned against a stone spire, biting back a venomous insult. She was just hangry at this point.

"Help yourselves. And Kame, we're taking watch. Sleep up all you can. Stories come after we're in a safe place." Chivalry reasoned.

Gail would gladly help herself. She removed a small wooden bowl from her back and filled it up with soup. She finished off her soup, set the bowl down then made her way over to her rock and tucked herself underneath it. Wasn't the most comfortable bed she'd ever slept on but it reminded Gail of her long nights alone in the woods.

"Oh come on friends, you're being too serious. Sitting around the fire, chatting with your friends, take your mind of things for only a few minute, aren't no other better stuff to be doing after the tiring days and tiring times. It makes you sleep better if anything.” Shifty protested.

Gail looked up at him from her rock before sliding off her backpack and swords, hugging them to her chest.

“Ah, suit yourself. What about you? Anything? Gorm? Anything you want to talk about? the old days, your adventure, you're going to be up either way might as well do something, right?” Shifty tried again. Although, Bradyn was already pretty much asleep.

Finally, Shifty seemed to give up and quieted down. Gail sighed and pulled out her hair clip. She stared at the expensive piece for a moment, pressed her forehead against it. Finished with the sentiment and worried someone might spot it, Gail put it back into her curls, hiding it under locks upon locks of ashy hair. She stayed up, restless for a few hours before finally managing to fall into a fitful, drifting sleep.

I hear down to sleep after some stories. I said up a few times and do my rounds then I go to sleep when it's someone else's turn but I wake them up first.

(Forget who get the turn after hers)

Kame about to do some shady stuff

"andddd he fell a sleep, oi oldman aren't you taking the first watch!? ah whatever I'm going to stay up until the end of my shift anyway, no point sleeping now, you're just going to get more tired, better do it all in one go..."

Kame trailed off and thus there're only the three of them left awakening Rosie, Lucus and Kame. At least it is something, Lucus provide a nice songs and some stories to acompany it so that's something. Well maybe he's being too pushy around the others, they're in later shift and need some nice sleep after all so it would be only the early shifter who got to relaxes now.

Time flies and soon Rosie's shift's over. Kame smiled and bid her a good night rest as she walked over to shake Lucus who nodded off at some point during his sob stories. Seeing the man's condition Kame took it upon himself to acompany and humored him senough to keep him awaken through the shift.

"---and then I said "you could have said you came here to Ka---me..!"" Kame chuckled lamely at his own joke before he signed "alright your time's up I took it from you here---and he's out"

Now that there's only Kame left, Kame scratched his chin awkwardly, eyes gaze to each sleeping form. Living along in the woods, he grew used to spending time with himself alone. That doesn't mean he like it much though, first of all it's pretty boring and awkward and lonely and boring. Usually at the time like this he needs something to do, so he decided to go through his supplies and fussing around with his arrows.

there's a sound of a snapped twig in the distance.

Kame doesn't flinched but simply raised his eyesbrown at the noise and go back to the task at hand. Cleaning and sharpening the tips. fixing the rope and once there's nothing else to do, he whistle and playing with it with his hand. Occasionally hit the bug that decided to landed on his arm and cheek.

before he knew it his shift is over.

Kame yawned and stretched but not going to sleep just yet. He walked over to where Bryn headed of earlier but only found his horse. The hunter soon return with a whistle "There you are, follow the call of the wild?" Kame chuckled "I'm planned on it too that's why I so eager to get you to your turn already. Going to head of over there for a bit okay so I won't disturb the others." He pat the other man on the shoulder without waiting for permission. Then walk away whistling into the darkness, an arow still being spin around playfully in one of his hand. The sound of his steps and whistle merging with the night sound of the forest.

Aerhth Whaunt

Aerhth finished saddling Gunter for the day ahead. The night before had been completely uneventful, although whether or not some had fallen asleep on watch was for anyone to guess. His breakfast was a bit of bread he had brought with him, and everyone else had eaten and were finishing the morning preparations.

With Gunter ready, and others still finishing, Aerhth walked over to the lookout point and surveyed the woodlands ahead of them. Today they would enter the heart of the forest, where sunlight was scarce and death enjoyed lingering. He turned, and, using his position to help project, addressed the group. “Alright, everybody,” he began, drawing their attention, “We`re going to be in the thick of it today, so we`ll have to set up a defensive riding formation.”

There were a few confused glances, while others stood still, listening. Aerhth continued, “Everyone will be set riding on a specific position on the trail relative to everyone else. The formation will be structured to both maximize the ability to scout for danger and to react to a threat.” Aerhth received several nods, but not enough for his satisfaction. He inquired, “Any questions so far?”

(Okay, so no one has posted in a while, so I took the initiative and got things going. I think that it is a bit early to lose the horses, if we must lose the horses at all, so we`ll save that for later. Also, I am going to structure “defensive riding formation” off what I know about defensive driving formations in terms of automobiles. I will and am willing to do more research if necessary.)

((Sorry, technical difficulty, baby sitting and church. Back now!)

Byrn shrugged. "I'll take point to scout, Gorm has Fergus."

The white snorted, pawing at the ground for them to get going.

With a little difficulty Gorm climbed back into the saddle. "Greatious! That there saddle leaves he a bit sore, I shouldn't be surprised if it jostled my other let clean out of place."

" wouldn't that be a shame, then we'd have to leave you behind, and goodness knows that's the last thing we want. " Lucas commented snidely. Bryn shook his head and handed the reins up to the old man. "Simply need time to adjust to the saddle."

Gorm sniffed angrily but agreed. Byrn turned to Aehrth, who appeared to be their leader. "Ready."

Gail Cyrek ~20~

That night was rather uneventful. Gail had woken from her shift, sat on her rock and played the game she often plays with herself. In this game, she looked around the given space and identifies every object In the vicinity that could kill a human and how. She was on her 400th pebble when the first light of dawn cracked in the sky and Gail woke everyone up. Since she was a rather quiet person, she found a Beetle or two and woke the majority up by placing the insect on their wrist. The commotion that followed woke everyone else and Gail, had smugly returned to her rock as though nothing had happened. It wasn't long until the group had breakfast had Gail had finished saddling Stilts.

“Alright, everybody,” Walnut cleared his throat , “We`re going to be in the thick of it today, so we`ll have to set up a defensive riding formation.”

Gail stared blankly their self-proclaimed leader.

“Everyone will be set riding on a specific position on the trail relative to everyone else. The formation will be structured to both maximize the ability to scout for danger and to react to a threat.” He inquired, “Any questions so far?”

“Goose.” Gail practically shouted, although, for most people it was probably a normal talking volume. Now that she thought about it, it was probably the first word most of the group had ever actually heard her say.

‘Great going. Your introduction to the group was goose.’

Too embarrassed to explain her train of thought and desperate to get out of the limelight, Gail stared at Walnut with indignation, as if daring him to question her. They would be traveling in a way that reminded Gail of how geese migrate. This method both relieves the stress of flying on the back geese, it allows them to scout for danger and react faster.
