I can't help it I raise my hand and say me! I want to go and help Gorm. He's been so good to me as a kid and he's a friend of my dads I think. Plus if I get some treasure I can get a healer to make my sister well and dress my mother up in some pretty clothes and get me and my sister some too!

I look around the man from the table near me also joins and a girl with hair bin her face. I watch for others.

Kame has made up his mind and all that's left is for him to wait for an openning to strike. It was simple, really. He was interested in these treasure but he know that he couldn't do it alone and he'd use his words to hire his very team if it isn't for the loud innkeeper and the minstel to do all that work for him(Kame scoffed at the way they talk). There's a problem though. Now everyone is just going to volunteer, and that's going to do more harm than good. They are just going to get in a way, not helping and if somehow they succeed they'll have to plit this fortune, the later part he won't mind as much as the first. There has to be some kind of regulation, he can't just have a team of one legged man and a seamstress somewhere?

Time to do what he does best.

Kame began to laughed. Hand still holding on the the mead. "Look at all of you, so eager to jump into the fortune. I don't blame you one bit." He stood up and turn around dramatically, walking to pick up a coing that was tossed and failed to reach its destination, playing with it between his fingers "For you see, the gentleman here's very right about one thing. The Wym is gone and that leave all these treasure unguarded but that's where you're wrong!" He stomped making some of the people jumped "Every den and every tomb has its dea,dly claws, even when the owner is long gone. especailly with something of that size and wealth. There will be tricks, there will be traps and bandits along the way. Thinking about it, going off of the safty of the town and out on the roads not all of you is going to come back here alive!" He barked again and throw the coin back at the minstel "Would it be worth it?to prove one's tales and gathered that wealth for your life!?

"but don't worry, I'm not here to just discouraged you. In fact, as an archelogist myself, it's my job to search and identify such tomb, even that of the wym's so rest assure, old man no need to get off on your one leg. I can travel there and back again to help put your conflix stories to rest. and as for the money if you just want to go hoping for the easy way to archieve your wealth then I can provided an even safter option; Me and my friends--" He scanning the room for someone he looked for, someone capable, someone strong, like a hunter or mercenary. The one that volunteered earlier and the same guy who asked to be seat next to him seem promising so he walk up to him and pat his shoulder "All of you here who have tasted the thrill of adventure like I have and seek for more, someone who could fight with nothing left to loose and someone with the heart of gold who would travel the land to get that wealth. not for themselves but to return all those wealth back here, to the people here who don't have to risk thier lives because we will do it for you. so who would that person be!?"

Hopefully that will scared and stopped all of them from coming if they know they can just wait for the money here Kame thought still keep his confident charming smile and stand dramatically on top of the table.

Okay, I have a question. I thought the innkeeper`s uncle was the one who lost his legs to the dragon, not the innkeeper. This puts my character in a confusing situation, because I`m talking to the uncle, but the innkeeper was the one who fought the dragon. So what are we going with?

Kora rolled her eyes, was this guy trying to scare them. Clearly, he's not succeeding. Kora stared at him with a d.eath glare, "if you think that your little rant is going to scare me, it's not. Nice try, though". Kora knew that she should've held her tounge, but she needed that money.

"Why would I try to scare you, I just stating the fact from my experience and providing" Kame grinned, jumping down from the table then approached the girl. looking at her again, she's actually not that bad, in fact she might be capable enough "If you are fitting the description I've just said someone ready to do the people's work then you're more than welcome to join the band. The feeling of thrill and helping other people, much more valueble than any coins. Or is it that you're actually scared? because I don't remember mention anything about scaring you and usually people who speak without prompt like this tend to have it originate from the bottom of your soul, hidden deep down, an insecurity waiting to show its ugly face. But that's alright. even if you are scare like I just said you don't need to come in order to get this wealth. So what is it going to be? Thrill and righteousness or you just in for the money, worth risking life and limp to just that?"

Kora was about to laugh. Legimialty laugh. This guy was funny. She nodded, "'tis true what you say, that helping other out is far more valuable than any gold. Is that what you truly believe?" Kora was so ready to just go on this journey, "I am more than prepared for what lies ahead in our journey. I don't think that anyone here is daft enough to think that no one else would be looking for the treasure. Of course there would probably be a fight. But, I will be ready. I am prepared to fight". Kora stared at him, gold eyes peering at his face from under the hood.

Kame's equally big grin spreaded " Of course that what archelogist do after all, a service work. We braved tombs and ancient ruins and coming out with the treasure for the world to see when they don't have to risk their life in the first place. or are you saying that that's not your intention? hmm? planning to going off and get all the wealth all by yourselves? people are watching." his voice suddenly cold like a warning for only her to get the message but still loud enough for the other to pay attention to the conversation they have. But a second later he does back to being cheerful again, declared loudly for everyone to hear "But! I like your spirit and enthusiastism! That's what we're looking for folks! I take it that's mean you're fully in! Miss.....?"

Byrn growled, oh seriously! He had part his quiver back inside the inn. A rare, but costly mistake. Funding around and leaving the comfortable darkness of the alley, he pushed his way back through the crowd to the table he had sat at.

Out of no where one of the other men, the very one he had sat near before, jumped up and began to warn the others away from the quest. He may have made it seem another way, but it was clear he wanted to scare them away.

At one moment he mentioned his comrades, Byrn scoffed, but in a moment the other man was beside him, slapping him on the back and speaking as if the two were good friends and compatriots. Byrn stiffened, but didn't speak. Although every pair of eyes that was drawn to him by the strangers babbling made him want to yell with frustration. Being noticed, being watched, that was for prey. Hunters were silent in the shadows quiet, unnoticed.

Fortunately for him, another maid raised her voice to question the stranger, and all focus went to her. Byrn slunk to the back of the room. He hadn't cared before about what was said, it hadn't been important. But with a conniving man like that one, the team gathered would need to be watched, and Byrn wanted to know what they stood for.

((Sorry I'm late! I was busy in the chicken coop most of the morning! Oh, and BTW, next time, please don't say my characters are were they weren't. I made Byrn go back inside because you did, but that actually put me in a sticky situation because otherwise he would have been in two places. Next time please take notice of were ppl are. Thanks!))

It's sort of a filler act for dramatic purpose anyway so I can easily edit it to be anyone else!(due to the length of it and how I hurried to finish it. Kora again rolled her eyes, "Kora". She was in no mood to associate with this archeologist. She glanced around the room, So many volunteers. Good thing too. Kora stared at him, "of course I don't want the gold for myself. Even when I get my rightly share, I'm not keeping a cent".

“I`ll go”, Aerhth stood up and proclaimed to the room, making his voice rougher than usual. The fact they were taking the old man was the only reason he was joining this sorry lot, and the fact they were disclosing their plans to the masses was getting Aerhth nervous. No doubt some of the other men would form their own parties later and knowing the strength of his would put them at a disadvantage if they were to conflict. Aerhth also guessed that others would see what was going on between the seamstress and the “archeologist”. Those two would be at each other`s necks before long, which would be a boon of bad tidings for their group. But this was what he was left with, and he could work with it.

He turned to Kame, “Now then, seeing as you are a traveler I`m going to assume you have a room here. So, unless anyone else would like to join us,” he glared threateningly around the room, “we should convene there to further discuss matters away from prying ears. and before you ask”, he made a gesture to himself, “Aerhth Whaunt, at your service.”

One by one hands began to rise into the air.

"Look at all of you, so eager to jump into the fortune. I don't blame you one bit." A rough voice spoke out.

Gail recognized the man with the shifty eyes from earlier. She shuffled away as he approached.

"For you see, the gentleman here's very right about one thing. The Wyrm is gone and that leaves all these treasure unguarded but that's where you're wrong!" He stomped making some of the people jumped "Every den and every tomb has its deadly claws, even when the owner is long gone. especially with something of that size and wealth. There will be tricks, there will be traps and bandits along the way. Thinking about it, going off of the safety of the town and out on the roads not all of you are going to come back here alive!"

"Unless we go with you of course. You could protect all of us meek ladies with your valiant courage." Gail snapped sharply. As usual, no one heard her. She was far too softspoken.

"But don't worry, I'm not here to just discourage you. In fact, as an archeologist myself, it's my job to search and identify such tomb, even that of the wyrm's so rest assure, old man no need to get off on your one leg." He continued.

"There it is," Gail muttered and rolled her eye.

It was at that point that Gail lost interest, especially since he and the girl who was known for romping with lions started measuring their shoe size.

“I`ll go."

The last volunteer was a scarred man somewhere in his twenties.

"We should convene there to further discuss matters away from prying ears. and before you ask”, he made a gesture to himself, “Aerhth Whaunt, at your service.”

"Aerhth walnut." Gail repeated mostly to herself. "I like cracking walnuts, they sound like bones."

"Then it's settled then." The Innkeeper clapped his hands, sharply cutting off the remnants of the argument lion-chick and ol' shifty eyes were having. "We will depart at once, gather your belongings, bid your loved ones farewell, we leave at sunhigh."

At least, that was what he was trying to say, instead, all he could get out was a bunch of slurred words. Just everyone was drunk today. Gail quietly paid for her drink and tried to slip past shifty-eyes and out of the inn unnoticed.

Kora nodded and dropped 1 pound on the table for the server. She stood up and began to walk out of the inn. She had to get her things, "I'll be back here soon...waiting".

Kora began the journey back home. She walked across the bridge and saw where the lions were hanging out, "Kibe", she called for the lion who was laying down on a rock, basking in the sun. He looked at her with the intelligent eyes. Kora walked up to him and pet his mane slowly. She decided to go say goodbye to her family. She walked to their small cottage and immediately smelled the flowers beside the rock pathway that they had, leading to their doorstep.

Kora opened the door and she saw Baer sleeping on the sofa. Kora took care not to wake him. Her mother, Jola (Yo-la), greeted her with a bright smile, "welcome home dear". Kora decided that she would tell her mother over tea, "would you like some tea", Kora asked, holding her mothers' arm ad guiding her to the kitchen, even though she wasn't blind. Jola poured some pipping hot tea into the tea mugs and gestured for Kora to sit at the comfy tea table. Kora took a seat and held her warm mug in her hands. "I have something to tell you", Kora said, looking inside of the mug, as if looking for wisdom. Jola nodded, "The Great Wyrm is d.ead". Kora didn't look surprised, "word travels fast". Jola nodded. "I volunteered to go with some of the other townsfolk to go to The Wyrms' Lair".

Jola dropped her cup, "w-what?"

Sleepy-looking Baer came in the room, rubbing his eyes, "what's going on". Kora immediately grabbed the lace napkin and began soaking up the mess. Baers' face lit up when he saw Kora, "KORA KORA KORA". He nearly made her topple over, but she held firm, "it's good to see you too". He then looked at Jolas' face which was sad and worried, "what's wrong, momma". Jola shook her head, "nothing dear, just go play. I want to talk with your sister". Baer listened and went into his room on the far corner.

After he was out of site, Jola looked at Kora, "you can't be serious". Kora nodded, "I am d.ead serious. Whether you want to admit it or not, we need the money. I told Mrs. Wimple that you would finish the dress". Jola nodded, "I can do that", she said, as she picked up the broken glass. Kora stood up and put the wet napkin into the laundry basket. "You can't make me change my mind", Kora said, "my mind is made up". Jola nodded, "you are so much like me". Kora smiled, to her that was a compliment.

Jola threw the glass away and nodded, "you should go pack your things". Kora looked to the room where Baer was, "what about-". "I'll take care of him, you just have to say goodbye".

Kora nodded solemnly and went to her room and began packing her bag. She slipped her knives in there and the stone to sharpen them. She brought her book and journal, so she could record all the events.

She threw the pack over her shoulder and walked to the door. Baer came running after her and squeezed her. He only came up to her thighs, so her squeezed her leg, "come back alive. Don't do what Papa did". Kora nodded and squatted down so she could hug him, "I promise that I'll be back". Baer wiped his tears away, "that's what Papa said". Kora pulled out her necklace that their older brother gave her, "here's the promise", she said, touching the blue gem in the middle, "I swear that I will return to Baer Kinle soon, alive". Baer, satisfied, grabbed the necklace and smiled, "I'm going to hold you to that". Kora nodded, "bye momma". Jola nodded and they hugged for a good moment.

Kora then made her trek back to the village. She walked into inn and sat down at her usual table and ordered a drink. She waited for the others, her "group". She stared at everyone who came in, from under her dark hood. She decided to stay at the inn for the night, instead of making Baer even more sad. She got tired, but Kora never sleeps. She's always up. She has that fear of something happening while she or someone else is sleeping. She took out her journal and promised herself that she would write once a day or twice a day, so Baer would have something to read and so would she. She stared at the finely embossed book that the passing trader had given her.

(Whew)

What with a new argument already started, and the last member of the "team" having signed up. Everyone ajourned to gather supplies, with the widespread agreement that they would leave in the morning. Byrn waited at the inn until it had emptied again, and then slunk back out and into the forest.

As was his custom he walked half the way, and followed the path farther into the woods, the climbed a sprawling oak tree and took off in the bopposite direction, back to his homestead.

Byrn was solitary, and he liked it that way. But paths were an invitation to the lost to follow, so he made his path through the trees, are only animals followed. And he welcomed animals.

Landing in the last tree of his trek, he looked down at his house, and for the first time that day smiled. "Fergus, I'm back." He called softly. A whinny sounded from the other side of the house and he jumped down from his tree. Making his way to the sound. A black Shire with impressively big hooves even for his species, and a long flowing mane, neighed a greeting. Byrn smooched him and ran his fingers through his mane. "Hey, yeah, I'm back."

Moving quietly as always he pitched some hay into the corral and checked the water trough. All was well, and the fence was still solid.Nodding in satisfaction, Byrn walked to his house.

It didn't take long for him to pack, simply filling a bag with the neccessary food supplies. He grabbed a fur cloak as well, it was late fall, and the peeks of Kell might be cold. Plus a blanket was always a good thing to have on a trip.

Folding the cloak he bound it in canvas and added it to his small pile of belongings.

Byrn bustled around for a few minutes. Laying things to rights and insuring the place was clean. A return to a filthy house was the worst kind of return. As small as his was though, bit took little to no time, and he was finished quickly.

A quick look at the sun told him he had time to sleep, if only a little. Reminding himself to wake in three hours, he settled down in front of the fire for a brief rest.

This could have gone a lot better, kame thought as the commotion seem to have di,ed down and one by one the newly formed ragtag group began to walk out of the inn the prepared themselves. he has failed to convinced anyone out and judging from the way they just ignoring him, up a leaving, it proving that they're quite a stubborn bunches. KIDS! The most irritating and hardest age group to deal with! It's true it's only a few year since he was their age but they had proved time and time again to be harder to reason with to that of an actual adualt whom he had won over with words times and times again enough to give him this much confidence

well atleast this stop more people from coming, a group of six, plus the cripled innkeeper whom kame vowed he have to be reason him out again or he's going ro end up dying on his watch. Another man who has volunteer the last apprach him to ask for futher discussion and kame like what he see, at least they have decent looking people who look like they can fight better than him but he wasn't sure what to make of the girl with locks and hoods masking her feature and they young town girl yet.

"Of course friends! Welcome to the team" Kame answered Aerhth, navigating him to his expired room, he kept his eyes on the disappearing innkeeper, mentally note again that he would have to talk to him later " what do you wish to discuss anyway?"

I walk out after all the stuff happens and go back home. Mom is proud of me, and so is dad. Which makes me happy. I tell them everything and ask if I can use a horse, I'm a good rider. Dad says yeah and Violate tells me to be careful she wants me back at home.

My parents give me a lot of attention and advise and mom offers to help me pack. But I tell her its a long day go rest, I'll be fine.

I choose a different dress, a brown and red one, too wear so I don't ruin my good clothes. I pack my stuff and lots of food but not too much. Soon I'm ready and I head to the inn where we all are supposed to meet up. Another girl is there so I say hi. "Hi, are you going too?"

Gail Cyrek ~20~

As Gail slipped through the crowd, she felt those shifty eyes on her back. She pulled her hood higher over her head as she walked past and still those eyes followed. In agitation and in pure spite, Gail made a fist, stuck her pinky and pointer finger into the air and thrust it in his direction. Sign of the horns ((basically the medieval equivalent of flipping someone off)).

Gail freed herself from the confines of the inn and hurried back towards her house, she did not bother to take the road, made a B-line straight to the woods. Once she was safely underneath their branches, obscuring her from any prying eyes, Gail flung her hood off of her head and took off at a steady lope. She had just splashed over a nearby Creek when the smoke from the forge became visible over the treeline. A few more paces and the trees parted, revealing two shacks. One (their main home) larger than the other. Gail slowed to a walk as she trudged up the slope then knocked on the door.

“Gail! Your back early.” Her mother's soft face appeared in the doorway.

With all of the commotion, Gail had completely spaced on getting the hammers!

“Where are the Penn hammers?” Her mother inquired, swinging the door wider, allowing Gail to squeeze past the slim frame.

Inside their cozy one-roomed house lay a glistening, brand knew sword. Gail hurried over to it, sliding her hand across the smooth blade. Her mother did the best at polishing and sharpening the metal, now all that was left to do was craft and add the leather handle and it would be ready to sell!

“Gail.” Her mother asked, although phrased it as more of a statement.

“I'm leaving.” Gail responded.

“What?” Her mother tapped her ears. She couldn't hear Gail.

Gail drew in a breath.

“I'm leaving.” She said again in a normal voice.

“Well don't yell!” Her mother exclaimed, extremely surprised, then the news sank in, “what?”

“I’m-”

“Yeah, I heard you the second time. Why?”

“To the heads of the murderous old man.” Gail stated.

“What?” Her mother asked. Gail was too soft.

“Gold coins.” Gail repeated loudly, well,to her loudly was someone else’s library voice.

“Your leaving for gold coins?” Her mother furrowed her brow.

Gail nodded and brust past, began packing the few things she did have.

“That doesn't make any sense, I need details Gail!”

“Go to town.”

“Town? You know I can't show my face there-”

She was cut short by Gail's withering glare.

“Apologies. Gail stop- Gail!” Her mom shoved her wayward. Gail yelped a bit as her mother harshly turned her around. “Listen to me.” She sniffed, cupping Gail’s face in her hands. She pushed the bangs out of her deformed face. Gail jerked her head, the bangs slid back down, her mother pushed them back again.

“You may think your tough, but I am still your mother and I worry deeply for you.”

Gail rolled her eyes, making an exasperated expression, although only on one side of her face. Her left side remained still, slack. Most people saw these one-sided expressions and thought that Gail was making a face. No her mother. Her mother had gotten really good at reading only one half a person's face.

“No you will not be fine! There are ogres out there! I heavily advise against going.” Her mother stared Gail down. “Oh who am I kidding, when have I ever talked you out of anything. Fine, well, if your going to be stupid, you might as well be smart about it. Pack the proper provisions, take one of the swords, bring the kindling.”

A smile flashed across Gail's face. Her smiles were hard to come by, reserved specially for her mother.

“What are you smiling about? Get to it!” Her mother snapped. Gail stood up, her mother grabbed her hand. “Wait.” She yanked Gail down onto eye level. “Promise me you won't get crushed by an ogre or eaten by a dragon?” Gail nodded. “Bring my baby back to me.” Her mother reached into her hair and pulled out a small clasp. Gail blinked surprised at the hair clip. It was an ancient family heirloom, the only valuable possession they owned. They could of sold it to buy A new life but never did. Her mother reached out and grabbed Gail's hand then placed the clasp in it.

“Now you have to come home. If this doesn't get back to me, I will be very cross. Dead or alive, I will hunt you down. You hear me.?” Her mother scolded.

Gail nodded.

Her mother pulled Gail into an embrace, fighting back tears.

“Now get to work. I want to see that pack full by sunhigh!”

"Its not what you get but what you do with it." -Xanadu

Wake up!

Byrn started in his seat. Yes, it was time.

Hardly a ray of light shone in the dark thicket, but Byrn didn't mind. He liked and was used to the dark. Grabbing his bag, he slung it over his shoulder and settled the other bundle on his hip. With a quick and final glance aroung PD the room, and a final check to insure the fire was fully burned out, he closed the door.

Springy but silent steps made their way to Fergus's lone stall, Byrn clicked hisntongue to attract the horses attention. The big e stallion letter its head and walked out, stretching like a dog and then shaking himself. Byrn slid under the French to greet had m, patting his shoulder and messaging the place between his eyes. "We have ourselves a tripnto take. Interested?"

Fergus snorted, and Byrn smiled again, thinly, "Yeah. Thought so."

Walked ng quickly to the barn he gathered his tack and supplies. Once done he kicked the door firmly closed, watching the latch slam into late as it fell, and then he walked back.

Fergus snorted and shyed, but in a little bit of time he was ready, and so was Byrn, who swung the gate bopen and bled his huge horse out. After closing the gate behind him, Byrn mounted up. Adjusting himself n the saddle one last time, he kicked Fergus into a start.

Off they went, with no path to follow it made it harder, and Fergus slipped a couple of times, but quickly regained his balance. Once they had reached the main path though Byrn kicked he m out a trot. Fergus whinneyed and sped up, hisjouncey gat bouncing Byrn and all his bundles up and down at a steady rythem until they reached the town. When his rider reigned him in, Fergus whinneyed in protest. Byrn patted his neck and dismounted, tying him outside of the inn, but far enough from the door so that passerby's or visitors would still be safe from his monster hooves. With one final pat hewalied inside.

Two of the three girls who were going were inside,as well as the more jstral.

Please don't let him be coming!

Working with a bunch of girls and street rats washed enough, he didn't need a bard following them around and trying to tell them stories and singing!

Without any form of greeting he settled into a chair close to the door. Gorm hadn't showed, but the old man was probably still in a drunk sleep.

Kora had to admit it, she was so out-of-place here. She looked at the girl beside her, then at her drink. If I'm going to be stuck with them for, God only knows how long, I'm going to have to learn about them.

"Tell me about yourself", Kora said to the girl next to her.

Kora scooted closer so she could hear above all the morning racket. She really hoped that this adventure wouldn't k.ill her. The again, she wasn't half-bad at fighting, so she thought that she was in the clear.

Now Aerhth was annoyed. “Well, I had meant for everyone in our party to come and discuss details, but you will do for now”, Aerhth said to his vocabulary proficient friend, in a put off tone of voice, “So as I said, we need to discuss details. From the looks of it everyone is going to take care of their own rations, that`s good. We will need to find a way to keep the innkeeper on a horse, for I doubt he has one. Mostly everyone is armed, we will have to form some sort of riding formation and nightly watch rotation to protect those who aren`t”, Aerhth spouted off in rapid fire, but slow enough for Kame to keep up, “ And, while this is probably useless, I would like to voice my concerns about traveling on a fairly dangerous journey with three girls”, Kame took a deep breath and released it in a long sigh, and Aerhth got the message, If I couldn`t keep them from coming, what makes you think you can do anything about it. Aerhth pursed his lips in confirmation, and then asked Kame, “Have you ever fought an Ogre before?”, Kame looked back at Aerhth, but Aerhth continued before he replied, “Because I have, and am lucky to be alive. They have the strength of three men, hides as durable as chainmail, and have been known to sometimes cover their weapons with deadly toxins.” Aerhth almost shivered thinking of the ambush he suffered from one of those monsters all those years ago. The Ogre had decided to go after his horse after knocking him down, giving Aerhth time to regain himself and grab a spear he had been carrying with him to trade at the next town. The Ogre blood left on the handle had gotten him a greater price for it, but the poison ivy it had put on its club caused Aerhth nothing but pure misery for five days. “We are going into a forest infested with these things. Now, the huntress does appear to know how to handle herself, but I`m not sure about the other two.” Kame just looked at him and shrugged. Aerhth went on to the next order of business, “We also have the problem of information”, Kame gave him a slightly puzzled look, so Aerhth elaborated, “We have two slightly contradicting stories about the dragon and the whereabouts of its lair. In the event the innkeeper is mistaken about the location of the cave, then we could be going on a wild goose chase. If the minstrel gave us the wrong Wyrm, then we could be on our way to giving a different dragon breakfast. If it is the first one, we`re technically no worse off, but in the event of the second, we will have to fight off a living dragon.”

Kame and Aerhth discussed for another half-an-hour or so, and then Aerhth left to procure his horse and other supplies, while Kame went to talk to the innkeeper, whose name was Gorm according to Kame. During his trip, Aerhth decided to purchase a small war hammer and crossbow. He practiced with both before returning to the inn. Several members of the group were already there ready and waiting, so Aerhth got another tankard of mead and sat down at a table at the far side of the room.

This is shaping up to be quite the adventure, Aerhth almost chuckled to himself, and was reminded of something once told him by a former traveling companion:

No adventure is complete without disaster

"Oh, of course" Kame thread more carefully when Aerhth corrected him with the sound indicating the decreasing patience. Still he kept his smile "I--"

but words begin to flood right out of the other man's mouth. Kame almost interjected a few time. It got a little overwhelmed, him usually being the speaker to the other listener but he reminded himself that sometime let the other pouring their heart out benefits him. Still Kame got cut of a few time when Aerhth asked and Kame meant to answer him.

After some time has passed and Aerhth has left. Kame let out the breath he doesn't know he was holding. Kame felt like he had tasted his own poison. He's right though, there's a lot that could go wrong with this, Aerhth himself included. Well, not that you can change anything now, just gotto keep moving forward.

"Just another job" Kame hissed to his reflection in the water, splashing his face. "What a pain..."

Kame skipping back toward the Inn. Since he couldn't rent the room for another night with the money he have left. Kame spent his time in the woods mostly practice talking changing his clothes and taming some animals but chose to head back when it's dark enough that not many people have awaken but early enough that it won't be consider him staying over night without paying. Kame has already used to not sleeping to some degree now.

He waiting for the innkeeper to emerged from his room. but soon people started arriving. Of course, the guy has to fell dea,d asleep today of course. Kame thought bitterly. perhaps not sleeping really got him a little moody. eventually Kame let out a signed then looked over at the other three that have arrived. Two girls huddled together and a guy sitting along. Uff, already off to the rough start. They're suppose to work together here. The less they could do is acting like it.

"Hello, comrades" Kame greeted all three from where he stood by the pillars "Do you get enough rest and ready for the long day ahead?"

When she suddenly heard, Kame (?) proclaim, "did you get enough rest for the long day ahead?" Kora really wanted to give to him what he deserved. Which was a good punch in the mouth. She nodded, "Yes, and how did you sleep?"

Kora just had to think, What am I doing here? I need mooney for them. I need that money. That boi needs a lesson in shutting him mouth.

Aerhth quickly performed a mental overview of his belongings and travel supplies, although they were pretty much one in the same. Everything was there, from his food rations and assorted knives. His horse, Gunter, was outside, equipped with a saddle bag. He then took an overview of his companions, whose names were given to him by Kame during their discussion.

First, there was the minstrel. He evidently did not care to have his story validated, but rather is interested solely in the money. Aerhth was concerned about what efforts he would contribute, both his helpfulness on the trail and the credibility of his information.

Then there was the cripple. He probably was more trustworthy than the minstrel, but unless he could handle a crossbow, the was no mistakes on his handiness in a fight.

Aerhth looked up at Kame, who was talking with some of the others. Kame has currently succeeded with becoming the leader, and for the sake of everyone`s safety, Aerhth hoped he knew what he was doing.

The huntress, Kora, will probably make a good edition to the team, but her animosity towards Kame will become a problem.

Aerhth had listened to Rosie tell Kora about herself. She looked, and acted, as a girl from a well-to-do family. The aura of innocence that emanated from her was a breath of fresh air for a man who regularly surrounded himself with scoundrels. That`s all well and good, Aerhth told himself, but the only way that`ll help is if she knows how to cook.

Aerhth glanced at Bryn. The man was very much a loner, even more so than Aerhth. His skills as a hunter would be invaluable to the team, but he was the most likely to ditch everyone else when he thought they were slowing him down too much.

He had yet to become familiar to the last member, Gail. He had not seen her earlier but was told she was a blacksmith.

“Who`s that?” Aerhth didn`t know who asked. He already saw him. The man he had laid out earlier was stumbling into the tavern, one hand nursing the knot on his bloodied crown. Aerhth had managed to surprise him in the alleyway, so he bet that the thug had not gotten a good look at him. He remained seated and still, while loosening the strap on his new war hammer and silently cursing himself for forgetting about the previous misadventure he had embarked on.

The man looked around the room, and then sat down at the counter. Aerhth breathed a sigh of relief.

Everyone else better arrive soon, Aerhth told himself, before anything goes wrong

"Its not what you get but what you do with it." -Xanadu

Byrn walked slowly into the inn. Two of the girls were conversing, comparing lives, that sort of thing. The older one, a seamstress if he remembered correctly, and he usually did, seemed either awkward or just nervous. Something was up, but his lack of human contact made it unclear what. Was she just not good with people? If so he wasn't alone.

There were the two of travelers gathered, rather, they, and they hunter girl, seemed like the folks who could hold a good scrap, something he didn't mind when going into a forest of ogres. Gorm was an old campaigner, but really, his lack of a leg (was it right or left guys?) probably had compromise d that over the years. The most nstralwas literally useless, all they needed was birds, not singers. The palsied girl, the smith, while he hadn't seen much of her, indeed, she wasn't even here yet, she had the look of someone who could hold her own, and maybe come out on top.

Then there was the merchant girl. Byrn sighed as he looked her way. From were he sat on an oak bench, she looked like a regular, abiet well to do, village girl. Innocent, clueless, and in able to defend herself.

Byrn scoffed, they had the perfect makings of a damsel in destress.

Horses stamped and bits jingled outside the door. And inside folks chattered, waiting for the morning to come. Byrn and one of the other men, a traveler, watched the company, perhals even with the same intent.

"Anyway..." Kame began, slightly distracted by Aerhth and later the other beated up guy walking in. Kame frowned slightly at that but decided to not investigate further, it wasn't his place or his bussiness. He's no innkeeper that have to chat with every beated up looking people walking in. So instead he greeted Aerhth and carried on with trying to get the group together "Oh hi, friend you're back! I was thinking that we all should get to know more about each other considering that we have to work together on the road for...how many days. These two girls got the right idea so why don't the rest of us sit together and make time while waitng for the other to arrive? I believe we still got one more and the innkeeper himself, no?" an innkeeper he got to try and convincing him out of this at least one last time

"Only the stuff you're comfortable with of course, just enough to at least make we a little more familiar with each other, no stranger and something like that.

"let me reintroduced myself one more time, I'm Kame Reinner, the archelogist, uncovering secret hidden places and ancient tombs are my kind of work. and I'm glad I got to work with you fine ladies and gentlemen on this dangerous but daring task! nice to meet you all again"

Gail Cyrek ~20~

Gail blinked feverishly against the noon light, cupping her hands to brace against the rays of the beating sun.

"You're done already?"

The voice caught her slightly off guard, she turned to look at her mother who stood in the doorway. Gail nodded. Mother and daughter stared awkwardly at each other until finally, her mom surged over and held Gail in an embrace.

“You better have packed everything!” She fretted

Gail nodded, gesturing to the small pack she carried over her shoulder.

“That can’t be all can it? You’re going hunting for gold for goodness sake!”

Gail shrugged, her mother shook her head and disappeared inside, she appeared holding 2 swords, one was a rapier and the other, an arming sword and a dirk dagger. Gail gawked at her mother. Never did she let Gail carry weapons outside of the house, and their house was full of them.

“You better bring these back, it would be a pain to craft them again.” Her mom sheathed both the sword and placed them in the ‘x’ shape on her back then handed her the utility belt. The weight of all three weapons was surprisingly heavy, the harness shifted with every movement. Gail would be surprised if she did not come out of this with some serious chafing. Still, Gail had been working with swords most of her life, she was long since used to the weight of them.

The swords her mother had given her were brilliant. The rapier was a long, thin light-weight sword, perfect for beginners and because of this, It was the most common sword in the armory. It was meant for civilian use only, something to use in self-defense on the streets. The Arming Sword was the complete opposite, it was thick and heavy, meant to be used in a full-scale battle and from on horseback. It was the most common sword for knights to own, that and the broadsword.

“What do you say?” Her mother was eyeing her.

“Can’t wait to stab someone with these,” Gail whispered.

Since she couldn’t hear her, Gail’s mother thought she said ‘thank you’ and beamed.

“Your welcome. Now, get a move on!”
Gail, without even waving goodbye set off.

The walk back to the inn felt a lot longer, more strenuous than usual, this is probably due to the weight of the swords on her back. Although years of building up the upper body and core muscle seemed to pay off because Gail quickly adjusted. She had no idea how to make proper use of the sword, she just knew that the pointy side was the stabby side. Besides, all she really had to do was just look intimidating. Gail marched up purposefully to the inn, there were the usual whispers as she passed but this time, they sounded more fearful. A smirk stretched across Gail’s teeth.

‘That’s right.’ She mused to herself.

She paused at the entrance to the inn, jerked her head back sharply flinging hair into her face, covering up her... defective side. Gail shoved against the door a lot harder than she needed to, the doors flung open with a bang, creating a current of wind which caused her hair to flow wildly. Eyes turned to her, Gail immediately wanted to hide, turn invisible, something, she hated all the attention. Still, she must have looked kick-butt standing in the doorway, swords stretched across her back. SHe looked at everyone with a smoldering intensity, parted her lips and spoke,

“Uh...Hi.”

Kora had just laid her head on the table when a whoosh of cold air came in. She didn't move, thinking that it was someone from their "group". She looked up, boi was she right. "Hi", the girl said. Kora realized that she was speaking to the entire group, which meant that she didn't have to answer.

She laid her head back down on her crossed arms that were resting on the table. She was already missing Kibe, Mum, and Baer. It hurt to be away from Baer for one day without seeing his sweet little smile. Stay safe, Baer, she thought to herself to try and make herself feel better.

The door flung opened and suddenly the atmosphere inside the inn tensed up. Kame noticed this too but decided not to address it, he's not from this town after all so whatever is the problems or what the villager thing of her doesn't concern him, Instead he beamed "Ah! You've arrived. You are going too, yes? Come join us and all we need is waiting for the old man to be back--"

Wait! why am I saying that!? If I want to ditch him I could just convinced them to go right now! Kame realized a moment to late as the word has already be spoken. He really want to slapped his own face.

But he carried on as though nothing happened anyway "Anyway, what's your name?"

Byrn looked up at the banging of the door. It was that girl again the one from the day before, at the lake, and again in the inn. The "sinners child". As the door slammed open the breeze it made pushed aside her hair, revealing her faces bad side. He made a point of not staring. He'd really never seen anything like it before, but staring would make trouble. And he hated it himself.

"Greetings." He responded to her uncertain greeting, not taking a second look and instead drinking from a tankard of water.

So, would they start now? Or wait, Gorm had too... Ah! There he was! Shuffling down the stairs. Leaning heavily on his only leg. "Enough ruckus you young...ah, oh, greetings treasure speakers." He mumbled.

I look up at the new girl who comes in and can't help but admire her swords I don't want one myself but they look amazing! I notice her face and smile warmly at her, before casually looking at the floor to grab my own bag. My horse Snowflake is outside with most of my things but I have a basic healers satchel with me.

Aerhth was just about to come up with some lies about himself to tell Kame when someone came through the door. It was the final member of their party, the blacksmith girl. She was surprising. The first surprise revealed why Aerhth had not seen her that morning. At her age and with her face, she had undoubtedly mastered the ability to go about unseen. Her ailment, though, was nothing Aerhth had not seen before, for when he was a lad a baby boy had been born with the same curse, although he tragically died of a young age. Now, while the rapier was practical, the longsword was ridiculous. Sure, she`s a blacksmith and would be able to handle the weight, but the size of them would become problematic. It takes years of training to even become competent in handling one. That fact made the intense demeanor she was presenting almost laughable.

A few moments later the innkeeper, Gorm, came stumbling out, probably straight out of a drunk sleep, to greet everyone. “Enough ruckus you young… ah, oh, greetings treasure seekers.”

Aerhth replied in as much as a cheery tone as he could muster, eager to get moving, “Greetings, my good man. Are you ready to begin the journey ahead?”

“As ready as I`ll ever be”, he replied with a grin that seemed to stretch to the back of his head, “and good morning to you too, Rosie.”

“And is everyone else?”, Aerhth inquired of his other companions, who were all present. From some he got nods and smiles of confirmation, others just stayed silent and still, offering no objections, “Then we shall be on our way.”

Everyone stood up and began collecting their things. Aerhth turned to Gorm, took out a slightly rusted coin, and flicked it onto the counter. “That is for my drink”, he told him.

Gorm took the coin, “Ah, yes, thank you sir-”

“That`s mine”

Gorm looked to the beaten man sitting at the counter, but Aerhth looked again at the coin. Sure enough, it was some of the currency he had purloined from him while searching for the letter.

“That coin, the one with the rust on it”, the man continued, “It`s mine.”

“Well, why would this man, Aerhth, isn`t it, have your money?”, Gorm asked with an air of bemusement.

The man looked at Aerhth, “Maybe he`s the one who knocked me out and robbed me!”, the man cried out, now standing and very angry.

Now with everyone`s attention, Aerhth quickly came up with a good lie, “One day past”, he began with a straight face, “you bet seven pence that you could throw a rock a greater distance than I could. I was not interested, but then you gave me some reviling titles, so I stately defeated you and collected my reward.”

“A lie! I never made such a wager!”, he growled

“Well, it did appear that you were attempting to obtain money to purchase more ale…”

“You saying I was drunk?”

“I did appear so”, Aerhth replied, having planned his next move, “Now then, were there any other items stolen?”

The man began to answer but stopped himself. The only other things missing were the envelope and the knife, and no thief would take a rusted knife. As for the envelope, he could be arrested for possession of it, so mentioning it would not be wise.

“No, nothing else”, he said in a calmer tone of voice. He sat back down, and Aerhth turned to face his traveling companions.

“Now that`s settled,” he announced to them, “Let`s be on our way.”

(Okay, First thing. Wolf, you`ve got your swords mixed up. An arming sword is a three-foot-long, 1.5-to-2-pound one-handed sword usually paired with a shield. Your description matches a longsword, a six-foot sword weighing 2.2-to-3.3 pounds with a two-hand hilt, meant to be used on horseback. If you do decide to keep it as an arming sword, I`ll change this post. Second, now that everyone`s here, I decided to get things moving without contradicting anyone`s posts. Let me know if I need to change anything. Third, I`m going to assume you meant "treasure seekers", not, "treasure speakers" ;P)(also, CAPTCHAS BEEN UPDATED! HALLELUJAH!

((XD YAY!!! NO MORE CAPTCHA PROBLEMS!))

Byrn frowned slightly, wait hang on, this man was...a thief? A highwayman? While the story almost made sense, their was a destinct tense feeling between the two men, as if they shared some sort of secret. Where they cohorts? Staging a ruckus to mask some sort of plot? Naturally suspicious as he was, Byron's mind was already full of reasons for why both men acted thus.

Gorm greeted, smiled and generally acted normal. Looking fully under it, so much so that new didn't really pay attention to the tensity, only that between himself and the minstrel (and his posterior and the counter).

"What are you coming here string fingers? Don't you have some innocents to mislead?"

The bard bowed low, smiling coldly, and while his voice was cordial, there was a sharp edge too it.

"Indeed no, I fully intend to come along, both to prove my information as correct, and to see for myself the deeds done in this quest, for it will surely be a balled one da, and who better then I to write it."

Byrn rolled his eyes. "Can we just go?"

Kame Reinner is suffering

For the third(Second? Forth? But it just meant that he have to constantly regain his compose to keep up with the professionalism.

"Gorm, buddy! There you are!" Kame greeted with both arms open wide as though he'd go in for a hug but he really wasn't going to. Another member of the team greeted him too and it made Kame think...perhaps having the innkeeper in their team can be benificial if he could bring everyone together....he just have to worry about keeping the old man alive..he doesn't want more blo,od on his hand...and having him or anyone dying on his watch doesn't sound very bussiness practice. This just mean he has to sharpen his togue constantly and ready for anything.

"That's mine!"

oh what the heck now?

appearently there seem to be a comotion between Aerhth and the bruised man, Kame considered stepping in. They need to get moving and he could have Aerhth back for this easily in the verbal battle, however to his surprise Aerhth seemed to handle himself pretty well

with the well-construct lies similar to his own.

Oh rats.

You see, being a con man Kame has developed a useful skill of reading other people, it was especially useful when you trying to exploide them for his own end by knowing what they want. Kame has his years of practicing. What he also getting for that though is an ability to detect similar con-man tendency like his own. It was easy when you are the one using similar tactics.

but this could also mean that man, Aerhth could have the similar skill as well.

Rats rats rats, what have he gotten himself into. Wym, Orges and bandits he could handle, he could depending on the stregth of his companion if all goes south and this isn't exacly the first time he hand deal with group of people before, far from it...but this group is.....interesting to say the less if not insufferably stressful to handle. The rebellious girls and now another con-man? He should have known when they talked in the room, he should have known. They all could very well be the sly con-artist if they're all in it for the money.

Despite all this Kame masterfully kept his smile without fail, nodding in agreement with the loner hunter "Yes, let's!"

Gail Cyrek ~20~

((I did research on the swords, I try to be knowledgeable about my characters, that is what the website told me. Of course, you can’t trust everything you find on the internet. Let's just change it to a Long Sword.)

Gail instantly regretted everything. She had meant to just slip in but had misjudged the weight of the door and accidently slammed it open. The draft had lifted her bangs and what followed was something Gail had seen many times before. The girl with soft red hair looked up at her before quickly looking away, another boy’s icy blue eyes seemed to find everything interesting except her face, the girl with the green dress just smiled at her, Gail tensed up. Everyone seemed surprised expect the man with the scars, he stared at her casually, only someone who has lived with her face before started her like that. Gail narrowed her eyes at him.

"Ah! You've arrived. You are going too, yes? Come join us and all we need is waiting for the old man to be back--" Shifty eyes paused and a look of frustration crossed his face, even that melted into a smile.

"Anyway, what's your name?"

Her distrust of him deepened “Can you ask an easier question?” She asked sarcastically, although she doubted anyone heard as she asked so quietly, even she could barely hear herself.

“Enough ruckus you young...ah, oh, greetings treasure speakers." Bradyn Gorm sauntered downstairs, hiccuping and stumbling a bit.

“Greetings, my good man. Are you ready to begin the journey ahead?” Said the Walnut dude who Gail also did not trust.

Gail, glad she was no longer the center of attention quietly took a seat in the back of the room, no one noticed.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” A wide smile stretched across his teeth.

“And is everyone else?”, Walnut inquired of his other companions “Then we shall be on our way.”

Gail sighed and dipped down, shoving her pack over her shoulder. It snagged on one of the swords and she hissed then began silently wrestling with the pack, it refused to budge, why did things have to be so complicated?

“That's mine.”

The voice was clear and brutal. Gail looked up from her bag and met eyes with a beaten man, she peeled back her lip.

“That coin, the one with the rust on it”, the man continued, “It's mine.”

“Well, why would this man, Aerhth, isn't it, have your money?.” The innkeeper groaned, he must be having a hangover.

The man looked at Mr. Walnut, “Maybe he's the one who knocked me out and robbed me!”, the man cried out, now standing and very angry.

“One day past”, Walnut began, “you bet seven pence that you could throw a rock a greater distance than I could. I was not interested, but then you gave me some revealing titles, so I stately defeated you and collected my reward.”

“A lie! I never made such a wager!”, he growled

“Well, it did appear that you were attempting to obtain money to purchase more ale…”

“You saying I was drunk?”

“I did appear so”, Aerhth replied, having planned his next move, “Now then, were there any other items stolen?”

“No, nothing else”, He mumbled.

Gail had caught sight of the pointed look he had sent Walnut, the hairs on the back of her neck rose. Both Walnut and Shifty were liars and not to be trusted. Gail wasn’t about to make a fuss of it though.

“Now that's settled,” Walnut announced to them, “Let`s be on our way.”

The minstrel and the innkeeper exchanged tense glances with each other and threw some banter. This was going to be an interesting trip.

“Yes, let’s!” Shifty smiled, Gail frowned.

She waited until some of the others stood up before she did, having finally wrestled her backpack onto her back.

Bradyn Gorm nodded, rubbing his temples.

“We have to start over Kellsmount, go through the forest of-”
“No, we climb Kellsmount, get to the peak and enter the cave.”
“That’s not where the wyrm lives!” The Innkeeper sighed.

The Minstril crossed his arms and headed out, Gorm growled and wheeled after him, Gail followed. The rag-tag team began trekking through the town, the villagers have gathered at the streets to cheer them out, so little happens in the town so this group of adventurers was something to celebrate over. No words were exchanged between the Minstrel and the Innkeeper as they crossed the border and officially left their town.

~Kora~

When they finally got moving, Kora got up and lugged her bag onto her shoulder. Kora sheathed her sword and put her bow on her shoulder. She filled up her quiver with arrows and placed the extra in her bag. She walked out of the inn and stood still. She had made the biggest decision of her life, without consulting her mother or brother. She needed to do this. For them.

She stepped off the step and began walking through the town. The townsfolk were cheering and saying non-encouraging things like, "GO! YOU CAN DO IT!!" and "DON'T D.IE" and "COME BACK WITH SOME GOLD". Kora shook her head. She pulled her hood down farther and blocked her face.

A little girl can towards her and handed her a flower. Not just any flower, a Chrysanthemum. The one flower that symbolizes nobility. It also was supposed to be good luck. Kora stopped and gently took the flower from her.

Kora had seen this girl somewhere. Her name was Iris. Iris was a friend of Baers'. Iris pulled out a flower from her basket. It stood out because of its' appearance. "It's an Iris", the little girl said quietly, "it symbolizes hope". Kora realized that the others were getting ahead. She hugged the little girl and whispered, "visit Baer and comfort him". Iris nodded and hugged her back.

Kora ran to catch up with the others. She walked past the border. This is the farthest I've ever gone. Ever.
