Currently there is one at the end of the maze you can pay gems to open. Most of the chests are just cookie chests but one is a mystery box.

Thanks for the info, Hyper

Thanks for the info,  Hyper.  I figured there might be one at the end of the maze.

It will take me ages to run the maze, totally not my thing. I'm a klutz at them; bad hand and eye corrdination, combined with using a keyboard--no gaming controls, sadly. I spent a half-hour, just trying to get across the Melting Ice Room: I just kept falling. hahahahaha... no different from the preivous mazes, I've managed to eventually conquer. But it will be a struggle.

I watched the maze video by GamerkidYT. Wow that was terrific. I had no idea they could be run so fast. But. it"s nice to know the maze layout, so I won't get lost... at least. XD

Since I last posted the mystery box is now in the store too so you'll be able to stop having to pull your hair out over trying to get to the thing.

Yay, now we just face ridiculously low odds of getting the actually good prizes instead of poop.

Snoggletop Mystery Box . . . Yay, I finally found it, today, and I've been checking that store page over and over again.

It's on the same page where you can buy the new Snoggletop tree and other items. The myster box is on the last line of this store page. The Snoggletog Mystery box, being a mystery box, has all the Snoggletog items in it. Remember you'll be paying 80 gems for ever item in the box, no matter if their original price is lower or higher than the 80 gem for each mystery box. If you don't like the item, you can exchange it for cookies. Mystery boxes are always chancey.

And yes, you would be using gems, so the choice is yours.

I can't resist holiday items; there is always something, sadly, that I want. . . . giggles and flies away.

Some context on the latest update...

Hi all!

Just wanted to quickly jump in here, as I’m seeing a lot of mixed feelings about the eel update as well as the removal of the ability to play with your dragons, and I wanted to provide some additional context on the why behind this decision.

Firstly, I want to say that its very understandable that some of you are upset about these updates and view them as extremely arbitrary in the grand scheme of things – I probably should have led with more context from the onset, and for that, I apologize.

The reality is this: both the eel roast and dragon play were over seven years old, contained a lot of bugs, and ultimately bloated the game (leading to slower load times and more bugs in other parts of the game).  On top of that, these features were only used by a marginal percentage of players (under 3%), so rather than allocating our dev resources to rebuilding these features for a small fraction of our userbase, the decision was made to remove them for the time being so our developers can focus on improving other core parts of the game.

I know it feels at times that our dev team doesn’t care about the players, doesn’t prioritize player feedback, and makes updates for seemingly no reason, but I’m here to assure you that’s not the case – we just haven’t done a good job of providing context and transparency in the past, which is something that we as a team are really trying to improve upon.  Please know that we truly do have your best gameplay experience at heart and will continue to work towards better communication with you as we move into 2021.

Thank you for letting us know. :) 3% really isn't a lot, so I can see why it was removed. I'm assuming this is a similar reason to why Alchemy Adventure was removed?

I think a lot of people will be comforted by this post though. And hopefully, 2021 will be a better year for everyone.

Honistly, thank you so much for explaining this. The percentage suprises me though.

Not nessisarilly for eel roast since that has been loosing popularity for a while but for the play with the dragons feature. I would not have guessed that to be the case.

I wanted to express my appreciation to the SoD team for putting in so much effort to improve communication with the players. I sincerely appreciate it. I'm still slightly confused by the removal of the "play with your dragons" feature because I thought it was more popular than that since the whole purpose of it was to make your dragons happy and it didn't really seem all that buggy to me, but I still appreciate that you and Malkath have each posted a comment to explain why the change was made since so many people were upset about it. I really appreciate the improvement in communication from the SoD team and hope this kind of communication continues. Thanks so much! :D

Never fear, for Blobby's here!

Thanks for this post!  I'll admit:  I was in the 97% of players who didn't use them XD  Majority rules! XD XD

Ohhhh!

Thanks for the explanation!  That makes a lot of sense, although I'm shocked that the usage percentage of those features was under 3%.  It never occurred to me that people could not use them.

I notice that you said that "the decision was made to remove them for the time being", so does that mean there is a possibility of them being returned in some capacity in the future?

Anyway, thank you for being transparent and telling us what's going on and why.  This improved communication feels like a fresh spring wind after a long, harsh winter. ^_^

I know I'm a bit late...

Thanks for the explanation! Now it seems clearer and more sensible.

I assure you, if such explanations had been given in the past, players would have understood actions that had been taken. Nevertheless, I'm glad that now we've got such a great communication with SoD team. That's exactly what we needed. Keep it up! :D

Looking at the date, I'd like to wish everyone Happy Snoggletog, as I haven't done it before. I hope you'll have a great time ^^

Yo, thanks for the info!

Thank you for putting the reason for the removal of those things out in the open, it stings a little less knowing there was a reason instead of it just being removed for no reason. While I'm a little saddened, things will change and that's just how life goes-I'm a little surprised that under 3% of players used it though. Guess numbers can take you by surprise.

I feel as though the context may actually help lessen the backlash(? If that's the right word), because suddenly it doesn't seem like "no reason" and it has an explanation instead of just some theories floating around. Thanks for the communication again, I'm sure that this will help with any updates people are upset about, to see why things were changed and what have you. Best of luck to you and your team!

(Nearly Fishlegs 2.0, to some people, as I can be given the vaguest description of a dragon and narrow it down to what one it is fairly quickly, and explain their abilities for the most part.)

You've forgotten about a small detail

The insight is very helpful yet you've forgotten about the 'play with your dragon' achivement, it doesnt seem to really raise via feeding it dragon nip or shooting eels so now players are permanently locked away from completing this achivement if they're looking to 100% all of the advancments in game, I am hoping that in the future you'll fix this issue and make it be something like "shoot [] eels" instead of making us stuck with 99% completion.

Brynjolf, thank you for the update.

I've been wondering why these programs were removed. I will miss them, but the game will go on. I appeciate your taking time to let us know the reasons the changes were made in the game.

Confusion finally solved

Thank you everyone who posted info here on the Snoggletog Maze, Chimeragon, and dragon happiness! I was very confused before reading this thread and frustrated that the happiness of all my dragons kept going down and there appeared to be no way to make them happy again. Game play, as a result, got very slow as it always does when your dragons are unhappy. Now that I know what's going on it's back to being faster after hunting eels and feeding them dragon nip. Perhaps there should be a quest with finding an eel or something which gives you some dragon nip as a reward as well as explaining the new system to everyone. I had to spend 3 days looking for info on the forums before finding out anything. I did figure out that you can't get the Chimeragon by completing the quests after seeing the Chimeragon Egg as a reward in the Snoggletog Cookie Event.
