RP Idea, would love to hear thoughts

SO I got an Idea for a RP that operated like a race. I got the idea after watching Planes. It would act as a multifandom RP where dragons or dragon like characters from any fandom (or no fandom in particular) could join. It would be a multiple leg race throughout the archipeligo (The Sod Map).I just dont exactly have a solid idea for how it would work so people dont have thier dragon flly to the finish in one post. Would appreciate any advice anyone has.

It is just good sportsmanship to not have your dragon flying to the end all in one go. Since a rp is about interaction, a good rper would do their best to have interactions. So the best is to trust in your fellow rpers and if there is something you see that you are uncomfortable with, don't be afraid to let the rper know. Communication is key.

Ideas:

Otherwise, as OP you could introduce obstacles or challenges along the way to prevent someone from rushing straight to the finish line. Or maybe even a task.

You could have checkpoints where the racers must all stop and wait before continuing with the next section (i guess at the end of each "leg" of the race) this way each segment of the race can be more intense. The racer who won first gains a buff/favor for the next section instead.

If this rp takes place in game, utilizing fireballs could help. After being hit by a certain number of fireballs, you are forced to stop for a certain amount of time for your character to recover.

If this rp takes place on the forum, you have a little more room for creative freedom in regulation.
