Rating your favorite Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts Movie? (Best to Worst)
I’ve been having mixed emotions on this new Fantastic Beasts Movie. And we almost went to see it until my fear of it being bad took me over and we went home today. If anybody has seen it, I need honest ratings and reviews (no spoilers) and let me know if it is worth seeing in theaters or on DVD. For I’ve been seeing mixed reviews online about it either pleased or not pleased with it so I am confused.
I liked it more than all the other harry potter movies, but FB 1is still my absolute favorite. Honestly, I like Newt WAY more than Harry. Definitely go see it, but just to warn you: it will probably leave you wishing he third movie was coming out next month as opposed to in two years.
I just bought the screenplay and I didn't like it at all. Yes, it was funny at parts and the twists are great, but the structure of it feels as though this is only half a film and that this was completely unnecessary for the plot as a whole.
As a percentage? 30%
Hope this helped.
Contrary to the beliefs of those friends I saw it with last night, I didn't mind it.
It definitely has that "Harry Potter" feel to it, but it's DARK. Themes are much heavier than the first FB movie (which I love btw). I guess it gives off the vibes of Dea.thly Hallows Pt 2, whereas FB1 was more the Chamber of Secrets sorta thing.
And cinemas or DVD? Cinemas, 100% If you don't like it, you're not then stuck with the DVD eh? Also, depending on your TV size (Whether it's big or small) it'll look so much better in the cinema.
Plot twists are still there (although some are quite obvious) and it ties into the main HP series pretty well.
And if I were rating the 10 movies of this wizarding world, it'd look something like this:
1. Dea.thly Hallows pt 2
2. Goblet of Fire
3. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
4. Chamber of Secrets
5. FB - Crimes of Grindlewald
6. Prisoner of Azkaban
7. Half Blo.od Prince
8. Dea.thly Hallows pt 1
9. Philosopher's Stone
10. Order of the Phoenix
But that's just my silly opinion, you don't have to put faith in it.
I watched it yesterday at the cinema and as a Harry Potter fan, I really liked it. The ending was a cliffhanger. You will need to remember what happened in the Fantastic Beasts 1, so I suggest you rewatch it before watching the sequel. I also suggest you watch it at the cinema.
Ok to answer you first question, here my list from most favourite to less. Remember this is only my preference and it maybe different from yours and the others:
1. Philospher's Stone
2. Deathly hallows part 2
3. Chamber of Secret
4. Goblet of fire
5. Fantastic beast and where to find them
6. Deathly hallows part 1
7. Crime of grindelwald
8. Half-blo.od prince
9. Prisoner of Azkaban
10. Order of the pheonix
Now as for my opinion on it (I will try not to be too spoily) I like it, me and my friend all have a good time in the theater but I can see why some people wouldn't like it. I haven't watch any review video yet but I've discussed with my sister who doesn't like it and I concluded that I like it because:
- I care about Wizard world world building
- don't remember the details in the franschires enough to catch the plotholes
The thing is...on it's on it's not really an enjoyable movie for the casual fan. It lacks the simple plot of the first movie, a guy chasing down magical creatures that people can enjoy and focus entirely on wizard world building and grindelwald dramas. The movie story structure is more similar to those detective movie with a lot of characters group with their own agenda to focus on and they're slowly come together which I happen to like. So if you care about the world building, want to see what goes down in that time of the history, the deal with dumbledore and everything you'll like it but then again, I'm in the middle of the two thing I listed. My sister, who also care about world building more than me and remember every canon don't like it and said that it contradict with the harry potter universe too much and have a lot of plotholes (that I didn't recognize until she pointed it out). so there's that. Hope this helps!
1. Philosopher's Stone
2. Chamber of Secrets
3. Goblet of Fire
4. Order of the Phoenix
5. Deathly Hallows-es
6. Half-blood Prince
7. Prisoner of Azkaban
I think that's all of them!
I can barely remember Fantastic Beasts haha
TRACKING because Harry Potter. XD
Anyway, I'm also about to see Crimes of Grindelwald when I have time. For the FB's I can understand the mixed reviews, but I'm personally excited to see the new one. I liked Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them pretty much, so I guess if you enjoyed the first one, you'd probably like the second one too?
- Prisoner of Askaban
- Fantastic Beasts
- Half Blood Prince
- Deathly Hallows Part 1
- Goblet of Fire
- Crimes of Grindewald
- Philospher's Stone
- Deathly Hallows Part 2
- Chamber of Secrets
- Order of the Phoenix
Most people do have some problems with Crimes of Grindewald. I enjoyed it however I would agree a) it's a filler b) there were too many plot twists, confusing plot line (no direction), and introductions to characters and things we never saw again.
I'd say go watch SuperCarlinBrothers review on this movie because they do the best job at discussing this movie and everything about it.
