I am also with this. They can just take the adult nightlights model and colour it back and add the tail, nothing else needed.

I don't see my old account anywhere on this thread so my guess is I haven't been on this yet but now I am in. We've seen the adult nightlight animation so why can't Toothless get a new animation that's as good as the nightlights animation? also I really like your idea on the tail wing I hope the admins will take it into consideration.

Glad to see you here, welcome aboard! Yes- The Night Lights animation and model is fantastic so I know the Devs can do this! I'm glad you like the idea! We've seen Hiccup take off Toothless's tail wing in Riders and Defenders of Berk. I think he took it off in Race To The Edge as well. It would be nice to choose tail wings and decide if we want it off or on! I don't think it's comfortable for Toothless to have his tail wing constantly on, wouldn't you agree?

Yes! He really needs a renewed model. Just look at Ruffrunner. He looks way more like toothless than SoD toothless. The main thing that disturbs me on him is his head. The ear flaps are to thin and pointy. Even though he has the longest ones from the fury family, the ones he has here could be a little bit more rounder. And they could add his cute little dragon beard and the spikes on his front legs. I just hope they do something with him.

Another idea for the tail wings. The ones that arent in use can hang on our Hideout wall for decoration, yet still be useful! Maybe add the brown strap holding the tail wing in place when in use. We could be able to toggle the tail wing on and off. Fix Toothless's saddle! It looks old and worn- Maybe get rid of Hiccup's metal foot part off the saddle so it doesn't look weird. Or just make another version for the vikings who still have both their legs! We could buy tail wings and like the shields, they show our clan symbol! We could choose any tail wings from the movies and series as well! I really liked Toothless's first red tail wing from the end of HTTYD 1. I really think this would make Toothless better! They can be membership exclusive just like the skins for him. There is so much potential for the model and animation! I have belief in the team!

People are probably getting annoyed at this but I'm keeping this thread at the top.
Honestly I'm in agreement. I don't play SOD because there's the old models and only them, and they don't really do much new things except the events, I'd love to see an updated Toothless and other various dragons.
Back to the top we go! Devs, please take my ideas into consideration and fix Toothless! These new features, models, and animations would gather a lot more players and keep older players in the game. It would benefit not only the game, the players, but you, the devs, as well!

I know GoonyBard answered my question as best he could, but this thread is staying alive once more! My anniversary of owning Toothless in game is getting closer, no more than a month away. Why am I mentioning this? Well, I've had him for 5 years now. I got him a few months after I made my account so he holds importance to me. The memories and nostalgia are kicking in. I admire the team doing so much for us and I see the potential for Toothless. GoonyBard couldn't say much but did hint as his model and animations being fixed, along with other dragons. Thank you so much, GoonyBard, for being around and answering questions. You've given me and many other players hope for this game. I believe in the team!

Oh yes, please! Fix Toothless. He and so many other dragons are suffering from out of date animations (looking at you Monstrous Nightmares and Typhoomerangs).
Fix every dragon with Toothless' animation. My poor Shockjaw. The Slipquifier and even the Grapple Grounder deserve so much better than what they're forced to deal with.

I'm totally in. This is why I ride my Seastormer, Dart, my Smitten Hobgobbler and my beloved Titanwing Triple Stryke more than anyone else cuz the animations on them are just....ew.
I'd like toothless's legs to be fix, his legs are too cube like. His eyes are way to white. His wings look soar. His actions are the same as many other dragons like the sand wraith. That should be fixed cause toothless has to be all special. You can not c any details on him. I think he should be more black then grey. Alpha mode has the kind of black I want for plain toothless. Even the sand wraith to me is better. His flying up is way too bad. It needs to be like the nightlights of the light furys upping. How he sits looks weird. The sand wraith matches it but the night fury needs to sit more like the nightlights. The thingys ion his had are also to be skinny but not that skinny! They can easily rip off then.
I'd like his glow to be a little better, I feel somethings wrong with it, but I cant put my finger on it.
Toothless looks just like the sandwraith and thats just not cool. If you want more people to buy the membership you have to fix these. They just ruined the nightfury for me in da game, even though I don't have the memebership.
From a buisness angle, it'd make sense if they updated Toothless with better textures, animations, customization options (on his tail of course). The way he is now? People don't like to use Toothless (HTTYD's mascot for goodness sake!) compared to the rest of his family. I know his animations were used for a number of dragons like the sandwraith but it's been long enough to where he needs to stand out. He should look appealing. That way people WILL want to get membership.

Toothless likely WILL NOT. Be updated. It's not as simple as changing the model. And this game is OLD.
Toothless is involved in so many quests and cutscenes that there is no way they would. The game gets more and more broken by each update. We can hope and wish but it's obvious this 8 year old game can't be fixed at this point. Not without tearing it down completely and starting from the ground up.
The devs that originally made the game, aren't even competent enough for a game this size. This game is a star collapsing into itself because of its sheer size. They had no prior experience with mmos.
Fresh meat on the dev team is always good, and this one joined pretty recently it seems!
I still do not think a fresh coat of paint will fix broken pillars. Even then the game engine is old as all censored.. Either way in my opinion toothless/dragon models are a good step in the right direction but there are more pressing issues.
And while surprises are nice, I personally appreciate transparency, I would love to see roadmaps and what's in the works rather than just blindly waiting here with this dumpster fire of a game.
Leveling baby dragons is annoying, ships bug out STILL. Membership. All that needs to be said about that. Subscription payments in this game are suspect at best and robbery at worst.
If there's anything that I could get like right now from the dev team,, I'd ask for transparency above all. Secrets are cool, it's not cool when your game doesnt work half the time & your whole community management is silent treatment.
110% certain I'm signing this! He needs it so badly, and now we've seen the adult night lights, we know they can, they just need to do it! Also, I'm super pleased the new dev is reading threads and responding as well as trying to improve the game, its finally started looking like all our efforts are getting somewhere!
I'm not a member and never will be but I'm tired of seeing all the outdated Toothlesses running around. Our boy deserves a tuneup!

I'm waking this thread back up. It's officially been 8 years and Toothless still has the same model and animations. We've seen the adult Night Lights and I know Toothless can be fixed. He could look amazing. I believe he can be fixed and look really good. I'm still here and waiting. I'll remain here waiting and waking this thread up until it happens. I believe in the devs. I'm more concerned about the model and animations, However, I would like to make a suggestion. I mentioned the tail wings before, but to be able to take the tail fin off and choose which ones we want would be great. We could be able to choose any of the tailwings from HTTYD, Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk, HTTYD 2, Race To The Edge, and even HTTYD The Hidden World. To be able to choose his tail wings and take them off whenever we want would be amazing. Take this suggestion into consideration. You made an event for the Adult Night Lights- I'm certain one can be made for Toothless, a mini event like the second Night Light event you made. Toothless themed items, new model/animations, and tail wings. Once again, Devs, take these ideas into consideration. I believe in the team and their skill. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork.
