I've only been doing this recently and it seems really benefitable, and fun too considering its basically about assigning special dragon abilities, but i'm being stalled here and there, missions failing sometimes..I need the basics of how this works, and mainly how to make the success bar reach 100%..thank you.

(one year ago /year 2024/ and after a failed time-machine experiment to travel to the future, we me and friends were teleported in different time lapses,it started by teleporting us a couple of decades back in time and then scattered us apart into different times and places,in my case I was kicked 11 centuries back into the past and found myself in scandinavia still stuck the way I was after the first random teleportation, so the 9-year-old me landed there, and after a year of being called crazy (a child in shock of tragically losing his family somewhere) for telling my crazy time machine story to midieval viking people, I gave up and decided to move on and accept my new life as the young servant for an aristocratic viking family known as the Hoffersons in a norse village called Berk)

hello all ,been too lazy to edit my signature..I'm Lee (the extra ee s are due to username rejection grrrr)..I'm not exactly a fan of dragons but I soon became a fan of the HTTYD show which it's also new to me, this was my first introduction post on SoD forum:

my favorite parts of HTTYD: The First Movie and The Riders of berk Series (lol aside from the prettier Astrid ,I didnt like Race To The edge as much as these)

I'm Mainly a Deadly Nadder Rider..I really admire this dragon especially for SoD ,if we can get stormfly that exists in the flight club with the 8 speed, I wouldnt want another dragon..

to me:

HTTYD star of the show : Toothless

HTTYD Role Model: (Hiccup+Snotlout)/2

HTTYD best person: Astrid (also she's my SoD role-play Nadder Trainer as a young student of hers)

HTTYD Funniest person :ALL OF THEM

HTTYD Secondary impressive dragons :The Skrill, ,Scauldron, The Flightmare, Razor Whip and Death Song (you dont want these dragons on SoD if you havent seen the show)

HTTYD Crush :Heather

Match the dragon skills to the quest, they have a little tip there to help you out.

If its a really long quest and its not near 90-100% just trash the quest, unless its the bag of gems, then go for it, because i dont think 100% is possible for that quest.

But of course, it all depends on what and how many dragons you got.

Yep, thats usually the ones that give out over 1000 dragon xp or the bag of gems,
Though the bag of gems is very rare quest, for me anyone, only seen it once.

yes and its also very challenging, my current one with the gem bag ,as far as I'd guess, requires 3 zipplebacks probably, and I have none and not sure if i want any lol..the other requires a Typhoomerang probably a few of them too, not one of my favorite dragons either.

3 Zipplebacks?
Pfft, its exactly a dragon i'd have more than 1 of, and i only have 1 for my dragon collection, fits perfectly in the boulder class stable next to my nadder, gronckle and whispering death.
Next time i see it will have to check out see how much % i can get.

I don't know lol the quest requires only 2-headed dragons, all my dragons arent usable for it...but I think I'll get one zippleback since i want all rider's of berk dragons (aside from hiccup's of course) so far i have only 3 of them lol..so i think I may pick one zippleback..

I just got the quest now,
It requires Screaming Deaths.

I have 1 screaming death and i managed to get it to 65 or 75%. . cant remember.

A screaming death gives 30-35% the rest 'loud dragons get 10%.... if your lucky. all the others are 5%.

Looks like im in the matrket for another screaming death :/

Lol, you may get lucky and pick 1 or 2 up from mystery boxes lol, shame we cant trade or sell, i got 3 Zippleback eggs D:

yes luckily lol..it seems having one of the rquired dragons kick it to about 60% ,but I think it could  be a good idea to get dragons according to these quest requirements?..considering sod doesnt change a thing in years, chances are these quests are gonna stay the same for a loooooong time lol..

treasure box of gems

i have had the bag of gems lots of times and they usually give between 10 and 25 gems (i havent gotten more that that) tho they say you can get as much as 100 gems. but the treasure box (not sure yet how much they give) i just got and all i needed was two mudrakers (i didnt know the mudraker was a sonic dragons) and a thunderdrum and i got 100 percent. the mudrakers and the thunderdrum were all at level 20 but it takes 4 days to receive it! whoa!

Is that all?.

Usually for me i got between 10-50 gems from the helmet of gems, i always figured the bag of gems would be alot more, considering how rare they are.

Treasure box?. the only treasure boxes i get from quests are daily rewards, when the quests were first released though you could get the common, uncommon or rare boxes... i miss those!.

the one i started

it looks like a big treasure box! not like the little sea chest that usually hold the daily surprise but a big treasure chest. anyway i just started the task so i dont know what it yields.  i forgot about the helmet of gems, i thought that was the bag.  so i guess there are three different levels of gems. ~shrug~

YUP! A BIG BOX

yup a big treasure box with gems spilling out of it but it was brown. its in the stable quests but it doesnt look like the ones around the grounds or from the daily bonus'.  it takes 4 days to complete the tasks!  took me two mudrakers and a thunderdrum at level 20 to get 100%!

The only boxes i get are the daily rewards D:

I will try and keep a look out for it. Woah, dont think i could have 2 mudrakers, and 1 thunderdrum is enough for me.

Thanks for info though, will keep a look out, and trash every one of those long quests till i get the bag of gems or that chest  :D

I get this quest once so far. It hasn't appeared for me again so I'm thinking it's a very rare quest (unlike Construction Zone). I think I used a Thunderdrum and Boneknapper (and maybe a third dragon; can't remember because it was a while ago) to complete the quest with a victory.

NOOOOOO!

my other profile has this quest and i worked hard to raise a mudraker and so far they are not allowing me to use the mudraker as a viable candidate to complete the quest! i only have three thunderdrums and a sand wraith and a shock jaw and i can only get 65% with the three thunderdrums and either a sand wraith or shock jaw!  so frustrating because i used 2 mudrakers and a thunderdrum and got 100%!  WHAT HAPPENED??

They maybe changed the quest to make it more difficult to complete. I've noticed that Construction Zone hasn't popped up in a while, even though I got it quite regulary.

I'm guessing the change in results from the dragon you picked is due to an update (which is also the cause for the disappearing Missions Window).

It might also be because the limited number of spots were all taken before you got to the Mudraker?

it might be..

well the mudraker is in the tracker class so maybe they made a mistake for allowing it to be in the quest since only tidal dragons should be the one to complete it.  im glad i at least got to use it for my main profile. :/

if i dont know

usually i can figure out which dragon i need to use on quests but if i dont know, i just select each dragon and see how much it brings up the chances. some 10 some 15 some 20 etc.... when i find one that brings it up a bunch i select than one and keep going till in find another dragons that can help out.  i most always get 100%, sometimes with only two or three dragons even if it allows for four and if two dragons bring it to 90% then i throw a dragon in that needs leveling up no matter if they qualify or not cause just about all of them will give at least 10%.

Stable Quests

The chance of success is based on how adapted your dragon is for the task that needs completing.

It's all about selecting dragons that have the right "attribute" for a specific quest. In addition, Fishlegs often gives you hints about specific dragons.

For example:

Mood Swings Quest

Description: Angry wild dragons are fighting over territory. Can't they all get along?

Fishlegs Tips: Some dragons can change their color and alter other dragon's moods.

Rewards: 130 Gold, 252 Dragon EXP, 50 UDT points

Dragons most suited for this task have the "Camoflauge" attribute. However, I use dragons with the "Healing" attribute (Tideglider and Fireworm Queen) and I reach 80% chance of success. The key? There is often more than one type of attribute that suits the quest. Altering the dragon's moods by making them feel better, like healing them, is one way to do that. To increase the chance higher I just add other dragons that need to be leveled up.

Another quest example:

A Hard Day's Night! Stable Quest

Description: Johann could use some extra legs and wings to move some of his merchandise. He says that any help will be greatly rewarded, so long as they don't break more than they move.

Fishlegs Tips: Sturdy dragons that can work long hours would be most efficient

Rewards: 100 UDT points, 1,269 Dragon EXP, and 700 Gold.

Dragons that have the "Tough" attribute are most suited for this quest.

The more dragons you select for the quest that have the suggested specific attribute, the greater your chances for successs. However, there is often more than one type of attribute that suits the quest. I usually aim between 95-100% chance of success. If I don't wuite reach 90% I select a dragon or two that needs to be leveled up and I usually make the goal.

Note:

There are some quests that need specific dragons, like the quest Eels! (Typhoomerangs and Death Songs both eat eels so they are the only dragons that are valid for the quest. All other dragons hate eels and cannot eat them without getting sick so they are invalid and cannot be used.

Another quest like this is Gronckle Iron. Only Gronckles can make Gronckle Iron so they are the only dragons valid for the quest. All other dragons are invalid and cannot be used.

Quests that need specific dragons in order to complete them are the hardest because if you don't have the dragon, you can't do the quest.

Other Info:

Attributes (which is what I call them) are found right below your dragons name and current stage (baby, teen, adult). They always come in pairs.

Here is an example using my Timberjack:

I hope this gives you a better idea on how to be successful on the Stable Quests!

yes that was very helpful thank you, and yes it looks like there are these quests that require (as it seems) the exact same type dragon or 2 species nothing other is accepted..but all in all i have a better sight on it now..thank you all for info.

No problem, I'm glad I was able to help. :)

I've had very good success with the Stable Quests (mostly because I aquired a bunch of dragons since I started playing the game a couple years back).

There are some quests even I can't do (or don't bother doing) because I don't have the right dragons or right amount of dragons for them.

When you see the quest

When you see the quest description, they normally give a hint of what kind of dragon would be best. For example - dragon to make a smoke screen would be smoke breath. "Boulder class dragons would be the best" -  means any dragon from the boulder class. When you select a dragon, its will show the percentage of success.

Before, the quests were not working, but now they are.

You can pm me if you are stuck on which dragon to send on a particular quest.

Good luck
