So true! :'( I'm always saddened by death.
We do live in such a world where life is taken for granted, even in America abortion has been made legal. It saddens me greatly, because my siblings and I almost did not exist. If my dad was never born, things would be different. This community would be without a member.
So besides that, war poverty, seeing life lesser then others. It all evolves around sin and selfishness, where people think their lives would be better without this child or that nation or that group. Nothing is new, this attitude will exist until the end of time. Or this world atleast.
Sorry for being a little off topic.
I feel really sorry for you, and can relate to the fear of living in an area where there is a huge amount of crime (In my small town alone we've had 28 attempted murders, 37 successful ones and a hunch of other crime this year. I hate to think what the rest of the Provence is like, yet alone the whole country)
Honestly though, while this may sound a little cold (After all there are thousands/millions? of innocents) I don't completely agree with people who say the rest of the world should help out, while I don't think you guys should be discriminated against (In fact I detest the thought) I don't think it's right to expect, or even hope for other (Sort of) unaffected parties to help out.
Sorry if I offend anyone. These are just my personal thoughts, don't take it to heart, after all I'm the type of person who thinks the only way to fix this world is. Actually I'm not going to finish that thought.

It may not be right for people to expect it, but that doesn't mean it isn't the right thing to do. If one of our countries were in a similar situation, we would want help. But how could we expect help when we didn't give it ourselves? This isn't saying we should help "in case we re in trouble in the future" but by putting ourselves in their shoes for a moment, we can figure out what to do. If you or I were in this situation, I think there would be a different tune :)
While I'm not in the same situation, I am in a bad one, like I said above, my conutry is world know for the highest crime capita in the world, with the avarage amount of reported murders per day is 47, and a huge amount of attempted ones to go along with that. In an exeddingly safe area we've still had around that many this year alone, and about 87 sexual assults.
While it may not be the same kind of situation as she's in, it's easliy enough for most everyone else to wonder why nobodys done anything about it.
Personally during my shortish life I've ended up being stuck in a locked down country myself once on holiday.
So yes I do kind of get it, and I understand others desire for aid from more powerful nations. However, I myself, have never felt it, but I don't think it's compleatly wrong to wish for help. I just don't think it's healthy to expect it.
Really though, like I said before, don't take what I've said to heart. I've been told to say this in these kind of situations repeatedly, because I apparently veiw things very diffrently, lack tack and morelity (By which I mean I've accidently blocked out a huge section of humanin feelings towards other, but I do have my reasons for that.)
That said I do wish for world peace, and if I had one wish it would be for anyone who will or has commited any kind of crime to hideon the spot, and for this to streach into the future. I honestly don't belive that anything less than death will truely make them repentful.
You are not the only one who has blocked out tact and morality, I have too. I spend most of my days (or entire months) emotionless. I'm actually used to being threatened (about five unsuccessful stabbing attempts have happened to me)

Nice to see another like me, and well, like in another thread I mentioned my school life so far, and basically everything there happened becuse I didn't think the same way. Heck, some kid tried drwoning me after I said that if he didn't pay attention in class or aspire to contribute to anything he might as well not exist. I don't get what people find so scary, or intimidating about those of us who think like this.

I'll finish the thought, in my head. Last year I was in Korea and they locked down the capital (where i was with my grandma) out of fear of a north korean artillery strike. Those air raid sirens are loud as a thunderdrum with a megaphone.

I agree, why should we care of they hate us? Boycotting will just get them kil.led because a lot of the technology and medicine comes from, you guessed it, Israel.

This may sound cold and offensive but it isn't ment to be, I'm not the best with words.
Something is rotten in the state of Israel (and the middle east in general) for sure. I personally hate the us vs them mentality that exists in the world, the current issues are so much more than that and there are always at least three sides to an argument. I live in the peaceful country of canada and I still have an axe and various polearms for self defence. I do condemn some of the Israeli government's policies (as well as many policies of the NATO nations) simply because they are made out of in the moment fear and not long term rational thinking.
There is no good or evil in the world, only misunderstanding, perspectives, and hard feelings. When those are eliminated or set aside the world will know peace.

No religion, government, or other organization can bring about peace, not even a god. Not everyone has the same beliefs and those beliefs often contradict eachother, governments often clash as the interests of their people or the interests of their leaders differ, even as a god may be revered by many there will still be those who despise said god, and if there are multiple gods... well i'm certain people here have brushed up on their trojan war mythology.
Peace is up to the individuals to choose it. It is up to them to throw away the preconceptions, misgivings, stereotypes, hatred, even morality and judgement against others. It is up to each individual to try to understand views that are different than their own and embrace diversity, we are not all equal but we should treat eachother as such to regard other's opinions on the level which we regard our own then sift through the facts to determine what is fact or fiction.
We live in an age where knowledge is truly power, where we have libraries in our pockets that make the Great Library of Alexandria look like a kid's book in comparison.
I understand that Israel is in a state of termoil as are other countries, with technology becoming increasingly advanced we must decide what our morals truly are and who we will be as a civilization. We as a species for the first time ever have the ability to direct our own evolution, do we use manipulate the code of life to save lives from genetic disorders or do we in full knowledge allow for a child to die? Do we allow a mother to get an abortion or do we as a civilization suffer the consequences of a neglected child who will probably join a gang (or worse) and murder countless people. Do we choose to do buisness as usual until the environment fails to support us or do we choose to hurt the economy as we shift our industry. All sides of the arguement make valid and relevant points that should be discussed, the runaway train has always been hurtling down tracks but for the first time ever we have a map of the switches, and we should use it.
Or we could go with the world peace solution I presented in my english class that nearly landed me in a mental ward.

Also, I still stand by the "expand the landmass" solution, we won't be fighting over living space if we have enough room for everyone
Considering the mountains, fields, forests, etc that haven't been subjected to humans, there's still enough room for everyone.
The issue is that you need to pay money for that space.
But if we have more land, the prices will drop by a lot, giving people with a smaller amount of money the ability to build houses.
Heck, lets just give free houses to the homeless :D
The prices would probably go up, actually. If there was new land for building on, a company would claim it. Since there isn't most non-touched, non-law protected areas now, they would raise the prices of houses on that area.
Giving away free houses isn't something a company who bought land and built houses on it would do. The company, or the workers who built the house, would be paid with the first purchase of the house, I think- the rest of the mortgage would go to the actual company or something else.
Letting people build their own houses would mean that they'd have to pay people who knew how to do it or buy the supplies for something like that themselves and build it with the possibility of building it wrong and the house collapsing with someone inside.
Basically, free houses = no money for the company for the house = people don't get paid.
We will also have more resources to exploit.
And, if I somehow get my own lab I can start making something that make humans everything proof.
Honestly, all the world cares about at this point is money.

Everyone cares about money because money is what pays the bills, taxes, pays for your food, water, house, clothes, and basically everything.

The us vs. them mentality is a big problem that both sides have. Actually it's a big problem that human groups in general tend to get but still it's very prominent in this specific situation.
