Let the Turn of Seasons Fall to All Islands
Look, I know texturing can be a massive pain and all, but it just bugs me that the School Campus, Training Grounds, Farm, and New/Berk are the only places that the turn of seasons touches. Why can the Wilderness never be snow-dusted? Why does the long night of Dreadfall with its frights never touch the Lookout? Winter comes to Dragon's Edge, does it not? Why then is it in a state of perpetual autumn?
Now perhaps the reason is that certain quest texts require certain seasons of certain places. It's been so long since I've had full quests to do that I do not remember. But if this is the case, why not just attach a certain version of the place to the quest (as was done with the School Campus for that storm quest), and default to an in-season version? Clearly, this can be done. It would just add so much to the game world if the season changed everywhere, rather than on only four and a half (that being the Farm) maps.
I remember when I started playing the game in 2014 the Wilderness did have snow and I've heard that it had snow in 2013 too. I have no idea why they stopped making the Wilderness snowy in the winter. I'd love for them to start doing that again. I'd also love to see Dragon's Edge with snow. That would be really pretty.
^Yup HP's right. WIlderness have had snow. I don't know why they didn't bring it back
The Wildnerness did used to have snow but they took it away some while ago. :( It would be great if it had marks of all four seasons (flowers for Spring, default for Summer, snow/ice for winter, and orange/red/brown/yellow leaves for Fall). But count your blessings I suppose.

Right? It has always annoyed me that they seasonally update some islands and not others. It seems so out of place. And while everyone's on the subject, I too remember when the Wilderness had snow. It was so darn pretty.
Indeed This would just make sense. I haven't been a player for so long, so I didn't somehow even realise there was no snow in those places, or that they weren't decorated for events. How could some places get snow while others didn't? I also like your idea, Cryptic. How cool would the Edge look decorated?
Movie: "This is Berk. It snows 9 months out of the year and hails the other 3."
SOD Devs: "Straight outta Summer."
i remember when they used to have winter in the wilderness. good times :(
Wow, that looks beautiful! Why in- or outside the Archipelago would they remove that??
