~Legends of the Riders~ LIMITED Spot Rp
((This is entertainment, so I put it under entertainment.)
___________________________________________________________________
This is a 9 spot non-HTTYD roleplay. The plot and lore will be explained below.
Please DO NOT reply until further I say so. This Roleplay is inspired by two different
scorces, so you may recgonize some of this. If you do, good job. Now, let's get started.
___________________________________________________________________
A long, long time ago, an elite group of wizards called "The Riders" defended the world from an enemy called "The Exhausted" from the backs of gryphons. But one horrible evening, The Exhausted attacked, no one truly knows how the battle went down, but only a few surviving members remained. After that bloody battle, most of the Riders left. A few unlucky souls had lost their familiar; their gryphon in the war. This loss set them on the path to insanity. The bond between rider and gryphon is strong, if one dies, often times the other will choose not to go on. The 3 riders that were left dubbed themselves the Elders and persisted to fight the Exhausted. But there was nothing to fight. The Exhausted had retreated, despite winning the battle. They didn't show up on any of the scanners, they had disappeared. Years have passed, making the 3 Elders more and more anxious. They had taken an oath, they would never to use magic unless it was to battle The Exhausted to conserve mana. See, the Riders were also wizards, The basis of magic is light, and only Riders can harness this magic. The Riders are able to transform light into a physical substance. So Naturally, this substance is depicted by a certain color. Each rider is born with one or two colors they can master. And each color is a certain type of magic (See more on ‘color types’ below.
The reason why most of the Riders never made it past the age of 35 is because of their mana. Mana is the capacity for magic. The more mana you have, the more spells you can cast. Once you've exhausted your mana supply, your eyes turn to the color of the magic you've mastered. This happens around the age of 28 or early 30s. At this point you've officially become an Exhausted. It is said that soon after this point, you will fall into madness. So, most riders willingly sacrifice themselves. However, some don’t, some ran away and joined the rebel group; The Exhausted. And their gryphons, if they had a sufficient bond, went with them.
The Elders suddenly began noticing an uprising in Exhausted activity. They knew that the Exhausted were up to something. But, only 3 Elders can't hold up against the army of the Exhausted. So, they decided to recruit. They made their first appearance publicly in years, finding out who of the commoners were born with color magic. Your character is one of these new recruits. Usually, without the proper training, a commoner would never even know they possessed color magic. So, you're OC will receive a letter asking for them to go to the palace (where the legendary Riders trained) for an introduction meeting and possibly an awakening. There you will be assigned a gryphon. Trust me, gryphons are nothing like dragons from the HTTYD fandom. They are pristine and fierce, more than ready to take off a few fingers. Forming a bond takes a long time, but once that bond is formed, you two would d.ie for each other. If one dies the other would go mad, it's said to be worse than losing a limb.
Forms, rules, spots and lore will be posted below. Please DO NOT REPLY until I say so. You WILL be ignored.
Could you save a spot for me?
Actually, just drop me out. I don't think I'm ready for this.
Wait, only one person per color magic? If so, I call red!
~Form~
Name: Cylon
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Rank: Newbie
Appearance:
(except without the pointed ears)
Personality:
Cylon is intelligent, formal and reserved. He is quite perceptive, though rather cool when it comes to direct interaction with others. Cylon himself is calm and dislikes disorder, and would rather wait and consider than to charge ahead without a plan or objective. He values direction and order, as well as believes most rules were made for a reason. Cylon doesn't see himself as a leader but is hesitant to follow someone else unless he trusts them and their judgement.
Weapon(s): Bow and arrow (shown above), and a sword.
Magic Color: Blue
Extra:
~Gryphon Form~
Name: Sywardus
Gender: Male
Age: 22 (? ; not sure how old the gryphon's are supposed to be)
Appearance:
Personality: The gryphon can be unpredictable on what he will do at times, but Sywardus is wise and vigilant. Though despite appearing as even-tempered, Sywardus can be quick to anger if he feels threatened or endangered. Sywardus is a very proud creature and is very hesitant to trust, but once he finds someone trustworthy he is unshakingly loyal to them.

*~Form~*
Name:
Kira
Gender:
Female
Age:
14
Rank:
Newbie
Appearance:
(My apologies about the drawing being so light again. The hair is supposed to be black, and the eyes grey)
Personality (3 sentence min):
Kira is what most people would call shy. But actually, she just prefers being alone rather then in a big group. Coming from an area where not many people live, let alone any other kids to hang out with, she has just adapted to doing some other kinds of things. She has an interest in crystals, and used to collect rocks she thought looked pretty when she was a small child. For some reason she is also the one person who is able to come up with the weirdest questions that really nobody has an anwser to. This sometimes leads her to think a bit differently about the enviroment she's in. Obeying the rules is something she will do most of the time, but if no one's looking, she might go and do something she's not supposed to. Basically, you could say that she's the weird one of the group.
Weapon(s):
(Left is top, right is backside. Also, the backside is supposed to be black, not white. Sorry!)
She has two blades that she attaches to her arms, which go about from her shoulders to 30 cm from her hands. They can be used both for offence and defence. When she's not using them, she has them attached to her back.
Magic Color:
Black
Extra:
Nothing for now.
~Gryphon Form~
Name:
Raven
Gender:
Female
Age:
13
Appearance:
(I'm not really able to do darker colours than this, so just so you know she is actually supposed to have black and grey feathers, and her beak is supposed to be silver coloured. And, the drawing showing her whole body, try ignoring the fact that it's not that good. The drawing is just to give you a bit of an understanding of what she is supposed to look like)
Personality (3 sentence min):
Raven is quite a bit more shy then most gryphons. Being smaller and weaker, isn't exactly something most gryphons would be proud of. Instead of being fierce or proud, she is a bit more curious, sometimes even a bit mischiefious. Even though she remains in her shell all the time, you can't really ever predict what she will do next. Learning is what she does best, and you might be surprised of how much she knows about things. Becoming friends with her is very hard, but if you manage to break her hard shell, she will be a friendly and loyal companion.
Extra:
Being younger than most of the gryphons that the newbies receive and also for other unknown reasons, her feathers are very fluffy and not as developed, making her slower but quieter in flight. Also, due to the difference in age, she is also smaller and weaker than most of the other gryphons.
Side-note: Yes, i own all of the drawings shown above.
Name: Luceste
Gender: female
Age: 21
Rank: elder
Appearance: Dark blue eyes and blonde hair. She has fair skin and long legs. She wears a simple violet shirt and skirt, with black pants, and wears a little armor like silver shoulder pads and things on her arms.
Personality (3 sentence min): Luceste enjoys challenges and puzzles, mysteries, while seeming a bit mysterious herself. She likes a good joke, but doesn't like showing emotions, so she tends to keep to herself. She is strong and dedicated and willing to work, and likes things to be hurried along and doesn't like wasting time, even though she is a logical thinker when she tries to find something out.
Weapon(s): She has a cross bow and arrows with her at all times, except when she sleeps, and has deadly good aim.
Her second weapon is a sword with a deadly blade, that is always by her side. She doesn't use her weapons unless necessary.
Magic Color: superviolet
Extra:
~Gryphon Form~
Name: Luna
Gender: female
Age: 32
Appearance: She has a golden coat, a little darker around her head, tip of her tail, and paws. Her front eagle claws are black, and her eyes seem as if they are always searching for something. She is fairly big for a gryphon.
Personality (3 sentence min): Luna looks very terrifying at first glance, and she always seems to suspect something. She is very careful about people and even other gryphons, slow to trust. She only trusts Luceste, and would do anything for her. Luna acts like a big sweetheart with Luceste but is very fierce and unpredictable, and won't hesitate to attack you if you have done something to provoke her or Luceste, especially on the battle field.

Can I take any free spot?
I read them alerady. What is wrong? Is that title? I may change it, I read the rules before. I was thinking it needs to be put with the form.
Is there a spot left? I'm kinda thinking about joining. :3
Yeah, there are still three more spots left. Two newbies and one elder :)
So yeah, I've read through the plot and the Lore of Colour Magic, and I feel like asking a few questions from you regarding this roleplay.
Q:1. At what time does these events take place at? The Iron Age, the Medieval times, the 80:s? Sure, i get that carrying weapons around and riding gryphons must mean that this takes place a long time ago, but a bit enlightment would be nice.
Q:2. You said in the first post's lore that when someone exhausts their mana supply, their eyes turn to the color of the magic they've mastered. Does this mean that when this happens, that is the moment they master their powers or can that be achieved before that?
Q:3. Also, related to the question above, if a person can control two types of magic, can they only master one of them or both? Wouldn't their mana supply run out before they can master both of the two types of magic?
Q:4. Are all the people that are a part of the Exhausted mad, or are some of them sane? It wouldn't really be a very efficient rebel group if all of it's members have literally lost their mind.
Q:5. Do Gryphons have powers? As in being able to breathe fire or something along the lines of that? (Yes i know this is a bit of a stupid question, but I'm not that very familiar with Gryphons and wondered if they are capabel of such things).
Q:6. Is it possible for a person to have two magics that differ from each other drastically? Like a person having blue and sub-red magic, blue being very calm and cold by nature, and sub-red being passionate and emotional.
Q:7. What happens when a person with blackmagic absorbs the magic from another person with for example blue magic? Does the person with blue magic lose all their abilities, or are they just fine? And also, what if a person with blackmagic absorbs white magic? Would the two types of magic be somehow in conflict? Plus, the description for white magic wasn't very clear for me. What did you mean by "It is able to emit light on the whole spectrum"?
Q:8. About how long can a person with Blackmagic keeps using someone's elses magical abilities after they have been absorbed? Is it for an hour or for a day? Also, you said that the more a Blackmagic uses their powers the deeper they fall into insanity, just how much does using blackmagic once do to you? If i were to use Blackmagic seven times, would i already be lost or would it have barely had any effect on my behaviour and mind?
Q:9. What is the age limit for a Gryphin in this roleplay? Can they be babies when they are assigned to you, or can they be over five hundred years old? Also, for old can a Gryphin become? Do they have about the same lifespan as a human or can they be basically immortal?
Q:10. You said that a normal person would not be able to know that they have magical powers unless they go through special training to wake it up. Does this mean that a person with blackmagic who has never been aware of their powers, would still be a bit crazier than the average person, or would they be completely normal?
Anyway, i think that's it for now! Sorry if this is overwhelming you, but I'd be happy to hear if you have some explanations for these things! ^v^
A newbie please.
Also sorry that it didn't posted down to you comment, something is wrong with my phone

Name: Felicity Haven
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Rank: Newbie
Appearance:
Personality (3 sentence min): She's a simple, bubbly, and sweet yet timid girl. Growing up in a baker's house as somewhat of a foster child, she's a little bit alienated from the rest of her village, always feeling out of place. Her helpfulness makes her almost a push-over, and she's always on the look out for love. When faced with a problem she goes with whatever comes to mind first, often making it worse. She's not pretty compared to the other girls her age, and lives in her own little world.
Weapon(s): Two-handed short sword with a brass hilt and pommel.
Magic Color: Orange
Extra:
~Gryphon Form~
Name: Pherenice
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance:
Personality (3 sentence min): Pherenice is a young and ambitious gryphon who is stubborn yet timid at the same time, much like her new rider. However, unlike her rider, she puts herself out if the open for all to see, no matter how ridiculed or outcast she is because of it. She wants to be accepted, but can't seem to make it happen no matter how hard she tries. She feels that being ridden undermines her purpose, making bonding with her even more the difficult.
Extra: many of the feathers on her right wing are missing due to an accident with a window.
Okay, I made my choice, I'll join as one of the Newbies (if that spot is still open). DNRD, I will be posting my form here!
Edit: Here it is, sorry it took forever. Tell me if I need to change anything!

Name: William Garrett (Will)
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Rank: Newbie
Appearance:
(His outfit is a green jacket, a white canvas shirt, breeches, and tall boots with a belt with several vines and twigs caught in it.)
Personality (3 sentence min): Will is a cheerful, jovial, influential individual. A rather oddball village boy, Will hasn’t any family, but that doesn’t bother him in the slighest. He can often be found wandering throughout the woods, enjoying nature, or hiking mountain summits or spending nights outside, no matter how cold the weather, under the stars. He is most adept with nature, but animals seem to have a certain amount of affinity to him, as well. He prefers animals to people, but can be somewhat of a people person, especially if they gain his trust. Some mark him as a “weirdo” due to his slightly interesting love of nature and sleeping in trees. Can be rather whimsical and lose focus easily.
Weapon(s): A large broadsword with runes on it and a slingshot he is surprisingly adept with.
Magic Color: Green
Extra: He wears the tooth of an unidentified animal around his neck, and refuses to tell anyone where or how he got it.
~Gryphon Form~
Name: Niera
Gender: Female
Age: 10
Appearance:
(wings are much larger)
Personality (3 sentence min): Niera is a proud, vain creature. Often found preening her feathers or looking down at those she deems “peasants”, Niera is a testy, untrustworthy creature. She is sneaky and conniving, and very intelligent. Though her vainness happens to be her greatest weakness, underneath her shell of haughtiness and cleverness is a loyal heart of gold, though it rarely shows, and only for her beloved rider, Will.
Extra: Niera has a strange love of cats, which she treats as rulers and divinities, down to the smallest kitten. (Even Will couldn’t figure out why.)

Luceste hurried down to the Gryphon stables. Luna could get very impatient. And Luceste was getting impatient too, more than usual. She tried to be calm, but the fact that she would teach others about how to use color magic, well, it was different than her daily routine. She shook her head and ran down to the gryphon stables, she knew she had to be there to greet the few commoners coming to the castle for their color magic.
Just then, she heard Heathers voice calling her. Luceste shook her head. She wasn't ready, she still had a gryphon to saddle. She got to the stables and ran to the wall where Luna's saddle hung. Luceste dusted it of quickly and ran to the latch that opened the stalls door. Luna screeched and clawed at the stall door until a Luceste undid the latch, and then jumped out, nuzzling her rider with her face.
Luceste quickly slipped on the saddle while Luna stayed still, stroking her a little while she was at it. Luna walked out to the free air, where Luceste grabbed the top and pulled herself on. She nudged Luna a little and the gryphon walked to where Heather was. Luceste wondered what she was thinking. Was she nervous? Was she excited, or was she impatient?
Luceste felt her own head whir. She felt a little nervous about the students, but who wouldn't? They would think something of her after all. What were the students like? Their power was also strong and they didn't know how to use it. They needed to have proper training. Luceste would make sure that they were ready and disciplined, to fight the exhausted. But that would take time. She couldn't launch into a complex lesson straight away. But first she would need to meet the students. And then teach them.
Luceste rode Luna over to Heather, who had been clearly looking for her.
"We should hurry. Don't want to be late," Luceste said to Heather then jumped into the air, and flew to the place where they should meet the new students. Hopefully they wouldn't be late, but early. She kept her face calm and straight as she watched for any sign of a commoner at the castle, looking for a start of their color magic.
Cylon silently but swiftly pulled back on the bowstring of his bow, arrow notched into place, brushing above his left hand while his right pulled the string back by the fletching, ready to let the arrow go flying at a moment's notice. The young man stared unblinkingly toward his target; a doe grazing the a small field hidden by the trees. But where the deer was standing was the perfect position for Cylon to be able to shoot it from such a distance, the doe was upwind, unable to smell him from his position, and as long as his aim was true the arrow wouldn't strike any trees before it struck his prey.
Cylon kept his gaze steady as he watched the doe. Any moment now he'd be able to...
Before Cylon could let go of the arrow the wind suddenly changed direction, blowing his scent in the direction towards the deer. Cylon froze as the doe lifted her head, gazing around nervously. Cylon lowered his weapon slowly and quietly, to make his form less visible from behind the brush.
Though the deer hadn't had seemed to notice Cylon by sight, his scent was enough to make her tense and uneasy. The deer quickly began to move off from the clearing and into the forest and the cover of the trees on the other side of the glade. Cylon sighed under his breath, allowing himself to slip from his former crouch to sit on the leaf-covered forest floor, silently cursing the wind for going against him. Rising to his feet, the young man brushed himself off and padded softly back into the forest to retrieve the catch he had already hunted that day, a few rabbits and a wild turkey.
The man strung the kill over his shoulder and began to hike back towards the village.
---
When Cylon returned to his home he lightly placed the fresh-kill on the ground outside, ready to be skinned and dried out later. Before he could walk into his house and announce his return, he heard birdcry above his head.
Lifting a hand to block the sun, Cylon watched as a bird began swooping down towards him. At first he thought it was an ordinary falcon, but upon closer inspection Cylon realized the bird was a Gryfalcon.
Why would one of them be here? Cylon briefly wondered, face impassive as the bird circled lower towards him. He held out his arm and the bird landed, claws clamping around Cylon's forearm with the experienced ease of a animal that must often carry mail to and fro.
Cylon untied a piece of parchment from the Gryfalcon's leg, the bird squawking as he did so. It waited for Cylon to completely untie the letter before lifting off back into the air and soaring off. Cylon watched the bird's flight for a moment before unrolling the parchment. His eyes scanned over the letter and he cocked an eyebrow before turning to his front door and walking in.
---
The ride had been long but finally Cylon managed to make out the stable the letter had signified for him to travel to in the distance. He clicked his tongue, easing his horse along the last stretch of the trip and towards the destination.
Upon approaching the wooden building, Cylon dismounted and lead his horse the last few yards by the reigns. Noticing a watering trough, he guided his black steed towards the water source. As the horse began drinking it's fill, Cylon scanned his eyes around.
I seem to be the only one here, He mused to himself, sliding a hand down along the horse's neck soothingly as he continued gazing around.
It was a nice, sunny day. People walking around, minding their business. One of them being Kira. Her parents had sent her out to buy some bread and a few apples, nothing too much. She had already been to the baker, and gotten her loafs of fresh bread. Now she just had to buy the apples. And, lucky her, she could already see the fruit stand in front of her. She walked up to the counter, and looked at the fruit she just wished she could eat up. But no, that wasn't possible. She talked to the man behind the counter, got her apples, and started heading back home. She could see a small shadow appear on the road, moving quickly forward. She looked up, and saw something that resembeled a falcon. But a falcon it was not. When she looked closer, she could see it was a gryphalcon. But what would a gryphalcon be doing here?. But then she noticed. It was carrying a letter. And it was heading straight towards her home. Her heart started beating faster. Could it possibly be heading towards my home? But she had no time to wonder. By instinct she started running, chasing after the gryphalcon. A few people looked after her with confused faces, but moved on quite quickly.
After running through the entire village with the groceries still under her arms, she had finally gotten home. The gryphalcon was coming down, and Kira put down her things to strech out her arm. She was in awe as the gryphalcon landed gracefully on her arm, and could feel the sharp claws clentching onto her arm, in a sturdy grip. It streched out the arm where the letter was tied onto. She took it, and the gryphalcon took off. She watched as it flew, and then looked back at the piec of parchement paper. It looked quite fancy, so she became even more excited. She could feel the butterflies fluttering in her stomach, as she rolled it up, and started reading. Her eyes went wide open as she realized what this letter was telling her. She read through the letter one more time just to be sure. And another. And another. And now she was sure. She would get the chance to study color magic! At the palace! She couldn't keep her excitement contained. She jumped into the air with her right arm going high towards the sky, shouting out a victory call. Her parents came outside to see what the ruckus was all about. With her face filled with sunshine, she showed the letter and told them everything that it told. Although she was wondering, how could anyone in the palace be able to write with this kind of handwriting? It wasn't exactly what you'd think a person from there would have, and also, she could spot a few spelling mistakes in it. But who cares? She was gonna go there, for sure.
After packing up everything including food, her two weapons, some spare clothing and one of her most prettiest rocks in her rock colection, as well as exchanging at least a million hugs, she was sitting on the back of a brown horse, riding away from her family who were waving goodbye to her. "Bye, i love you!" she shouted to them, before looking away from her house, and continuing to ride forwards, through the village towards the horsestables in the far corner of the village
It had taken quite a long time, but she was finally here. She knew that she was quite a bit far away from her home, but that didn't matter. She got off the horse, and held onto it's reings as she went through the letter one more time, just to be sure that she knew where she was supposed to go. It said to head to the stables, and so she did. Leading the horse through the stunning yards, she finally made it there. But she wasn't the only one. A boy with blonde hair and quite fancy looking clothing had already made it there, and his horse was drinking from a water source. She breathed in, and started walking towards him. "Hello there! Did you receive a letter as well?" she asked. She lead her horse beside his horse, and let it drink after this long journey.
((I'm sorry if I look like I'm being impatient, i just want to get this roleplay rolling as soon as possible. It really is one of the only few things i can do right now, and I just don't want it to d.ie already. In other words, bump!))
((really sory for my late reply. school and such takes up a lot of my day.))
Cylon turned his head to the side slightly when he heard the distant sound of another horse nearing. He glanced to the side and observed as a girl with dark hair who appeared to be a couple of years younger than himself approaching the stables, leading the brown steed at her side towards the stable yard.
Upon coming closer the girl called out a greeting,
"Hello there!" The young woman said, bringing her horse up to the water trough his own black stallion was still drinking from, allowing the brown horse to begin consuming it's fill alongside his. "Did you receive a letter as well?"
Cylon nodded cooly though politely back in greeting before responding to her question. "I did." He allowed his eyes to sweep across the yard one more. "It appears we are the only ones who have arrived so far. I would have thought someone might have been here already."
Will walked amongst the trees, weaving in and out of the massive oak forest, enjoying the smells and aromas that the crisp summer air brought with the breeze. The trees whispered as the wind blew through them, occasionally scattering leaves into the wayfarer's path. But he never skipped a beat, never lost cadence in his gait or rhythm in his whistling, even as eerie eyes stared at him from the undergrowth.
He heard the sounds of the nearby village, and he took a turn down one of the slightly less overgrown paths, back towards the edge of the forest. When he passed through the border of trees and into the plains beyond, his eyes settled on the quaint town he had lived in for his whole life. Of course, he rarely stayed there for longer than five days or so- the adventure beyond called to him, and the village had branded him as "that one explorer with a bad case of wanderlust". He never contradicted them, of course- after all, it was mostly true.
Will whistled a faster tune as he walked down towards the village. Before he neared into the sight of the villagers, something large and bird-like swooped down from the sky and caught his attention immediately. Craning his neck to follow the circling creature with his eyes, he immediately recognized it to be a gyrfalcon- how curious, he had never seen one of those in the area before.
The creature landed beside him and cawed knowingly at the young man. Will arched his eyebrows inquisitively at the bird, but it simply cawed again and extended a leg. A parchment roll was rolled up and tied to the gyrfalcon's leg. Curious, Will got to his knees and removed the parchment from the bird's leg.
"Thanks, friend," Will said, as the bird took off into the air. Carefully, he unrolled the parchment, his eyes widening as he followed the fancy script, rapidly at first, and then slower.
Color magic. Of course, he had heard of such things and even mused about it within himself several times, but never anticipated it to lead himself invited to one of the most prestigious places known for color magic- well, in fact, the only place known for color magic.
After making up his mind, Will took off at a jog, not bothering to stop by and give the village one last look.
He was never one for nostalgia.
---
A few hours later, Will arrived at the village stables. The walk had been brisk, and slightly long, but nothing he couldn't handle; in fact, it had been rather nice. The stables were large and rather majestic looking, and he could hear the sounds of large creatures- inside the buildings.
Will brushed his unruly blonde hair away from his face and approached the stables, noting several others had already arrived.
This certainly puts a spin on things.
((I'll edit it, pronto! Oh, and thank you, years of writing practice pays off XD))
Slidding the fingerless gloves over his hands, he narrowed his eyes at the black and red crossbow hanging up on the wall. That was his father's prized signature weapon, until he passed and it was handed down to his son. Austin had taken the responsibility of taking his place, hunting and working to provide for his family. He grew up in this village, so he knew quite a lot of people. He also grew up hunting, which he considered himself pretty skilled at. He took the bow off the wall and slung the quiver of arrows across his back. It was time to go on another hunting trip.
-
He ventured into the forest, until he found the perfect spot to wait for his prey: rabbits. After ten minutes of silence, he heard something crunching on autumn leaves, like an animal was jumping on them. He peered through the tiny gaps in the bushes and spotted a big, fat, brown rabbit. Slowly, he prepared his bow, aiming it straight at the animal's shoulder. However, something had interupted his hunt.
-
The sound of wingbeats were getting closer, spooking the rabbit away. Austin frowned, disappointed that his perhaps only chance of bringing home kill was blown. He made out the shape of a Gyrfalcon coming his way. Raising an eyebrow, he lowered his crossbow. Stretching out his arm, the falcon landed, squeezing his arm with its talons. Austin noticed the note on its leg and untied it, figuring it was for him. He was still quite confused why a gyrfalcon was this far out in the woods. As the bird took flight, he watched it leave, before turning back to the letter written in fine print. His eyes widened in the middle of reading it. Folding it back up and slipping it into a pocket, he slung the crossbow over his shoulder and started his walk back to the village.
-
After collecting his items, he double checked to make sure he had everything he needed. His mom and little sister stood outside their home as Austin mounted his pitch black horse, Grandeur. He waved them goodbye, looking back one last time before grabbing the reins, leading his mount to the stable, where he would meet the other recruits.
-
The ride was long, but Grandeur was fast. There were already three other teens there, two boys and a girl that looked about a year younger than him. He climbed off Grandeur, leading him to the watering trough the other horses were drinking from. The black stallion belonged to the tall blonde haired boy with a bow and the brown horse was the girl's. Austin nodded at them. " Hello fellow recruits. I suppose we are the first ones here?" He moved some of his auburn hair to the side, revealing his blue eyes.
((Well, it seems that Shaylyn and Felicity are the only ones who haven't arrived yet))
The young man nodded to her with a cool, yet polite expression. "I did". He turned his gaze towards the yards, and hers followed. "It appears we are the only ones who have arrived so far. I would have thought someone might have been here already". They both kept on looking out to the fields. The sky was relatively clear this day. There were a few small fluffy clouds floating in the sky, drifting away with the mild wind. "Yeah, but hey, can't help it" she said and shrugged. She turned around, and was just about to go and check on the horses, when something suddenly struck her. "Hey, i didn't tell you my name yet! My name is Kira, what's yours?" she asked, and held out a hand to him.
Kira was just about to fetch herself an apple from her saddlebag, when she noticed a figure walking towards them. She turned around, and saw that it was a boy. He had quite wild blonde hair, and beautiful green eyes. "Oh, must be another recruit. I should go say hi!". She started waking towards the stranger with a positive expression. "Hello there! You must be one of the new recruits, right? It's nice to meet you, I'm Kira!" she said and held out a hand.
She noticed that another person had arrived. His appearence was quite shocking, to say the least, but not in a bad way. He was all dressed up in black, and had brown hair covering his blue eyes. He was leading his own horse to the building, a pitch black horse. She could see all the way from over there how it's coat was gleaming in the sunlight. "Hello fellow recruits. I suppose we are the first ones here?" he asked.
Will had just approached the group of trainees when a bright-eyed girl bounced up to him, launching into a sentence. "Hello there! You must be one of the new recruits, right? It's nice to meet you, I'm Kira!" the girl said jovially. Will grinned at her and heartily shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you, Kira," he said cheerily. "I'm Will."
Just then, the two of them simultaneously noticed one of the newest arrivals. An auburn-headed boy with blue eyes, clad in black to match his ebony steed, approached them. "Hello fellow recruits," he said mildly. "I suppose we are the first ones here?"
"So it seems," Will said, nodding at the collection of magic-users-to-be. "I'm not sure how many of us are coming, but it appears our instructors have yet to arrive."
((sorry for posting so late, hectic school schedule))
"Well that should do it! You're free to go now, Filly." Felicity smiled and hung her apron on the peg beside the door. She dusted flour off her hands and skipped to the door. "Be back in an hour, ya hear?"
"Yes, Ma." She called back and she headed down the dusty road. She past by the blacksmith and the bookstore and the carpenter before turning into the herbary. She came here every afternoon after helping her Ma with the morning chores and breakfast rush, the bakery served as an Inn also. She glanced at all the herbs in bottles and baskets, jars and boxes. She slid an old book of a shelf and began glimpsing through the pages untill she found where she had left off yesterday. She went to the bench at the back of the small shop and began the chapter on invisible poisons and their cures. The shopkeeper smiled as he dusted off some jars and moved away. Felicity felt something hard in the pages in the middle of the chapter. 1 gold peice! She looked up and around for Mr. Carathey. When she caught his eye he winked at her. She smiled in return. He often hid small treasures in the books she was reading, but she knew the purpose for this one. It was placed on the page of antidots. Her step-brother, Preston, was very sick, and 1 gold piece was just the right amount to buy the materials for the cure. Felicity copied the instructions on a napkin and gathered her items. He put them in a basket for her and sent her off to help him. After a many hearty 'thank yous' she hurried back down the road to the bakery. She came through the door in a whirlwind of auburn hair.
"Goodness me, Felicity! Whatever is the matter?"
"Nothing at all, Ma! I have what we need to make Preston's medicine. She held up the basket."
"And tell me just how you paid for all that?"
"Mr. Carathey hid a gold peice in the book this time. Just enough for everything." Ma eyed her for a moment then was satisfied with her answer. She knew the Potionsmaster did indeed give Felicity quite an array of stuff.
"Well, allright then. I'll give these to your father." Felicity suddenly looked very sullen. "Oh, Filly, don't look at me that way. You know you have to have some training before you mess with these sort of things. I know you want to be and herbalist, but we just don't have enough to pay for classes. You understand, don't you, dear?" Felicity nodded and handed over the basket. She sighed and walked back outside. She saw the other girls her age with their brown and blond hair, their long colorful gowns, and the admiring boys standing with them making them giggle. The tallest girl, Heidi Primrose, stopped giggling and looked Felicity up and down with a 'I'm better than you' look. I wish things around here would change. Anything.
Just as she was thinking that a large, brown, clumsy shape with wings somewhat fell out of the sky and did its best to land on her shoulder, but hit her in the head and gravity pulled them both down the ground. Felicity heard the other girls and boys laughing at her. She got to her feet and looked down. "Hi there." She said to the gruff looking gyrfalcon at her feet. When the group of teens noticed what the creature was they stopped laughing. The gyrfalcon braced itself and looked like it was gonna jump for her, so she put out her arm. Just as it was about to leap Heidi ran forward. "A gyrfalcon! Oh how cool. I think I'll keep it!" She reached for it and it started going crazy. Cawing and sqauking and fending her off viciously. When she recoiled in fear it landed on Felicity's still-out-stretched arm. It lifted it's leg and she saw the letter. "For me?" she asked. Heidi scoffed in offense. She read it and the gyrfalcon flew off, in a more or less clumsy manner. "Well? What's it say." Heidi crossed her arms and swayed onto one hip. Felicity was about to tell her, but the letter gave vher a knew found strength somehow. "Ya know what? I'm NOT gonna tell you." and she flipped around and went inside. It felt good to leave Heidi seething like that.
Felicity shared the letter with her foster parents and went up to tell Preston that she'd see him soon, and then, because they had no horse, she borrowed one from the Poitionsmaster and set off for her adventure.
When she arrived at the meeting spot she was tempted to hang back, but she rode on anyway. There were a few she recognized, but they probably didn't recognize her. The other girl had even been in the bakery that morning.
((I caught that just before I read your post edit is above XD))
"Yeah, i guess so. By the way, I'm Kira. It's nice to meet you" she said and offered the new boy her hand. She looked up at his blue eyes which were surrounded by his brown hair. It was surprising how tall he was, it felt like he was towering over her.
((Sorry bout the short post, gotta get to bed soon. See you in the morning!
Also, quick reminder, not to be rude, but Sky and Ocean, Wolf and Star mentioned in her first post that i'd be preferable if your character were to arrive at the stable's by the first post. But hey, school's more important. Good luck with your studies!))
((Sorry that I didn't posted before, but you know, school and more important stuff. Can someone caught me on what happened alerady?))
((Well, basically every single person had been doing whatever they had been doing, and then a gyrfalcon came to each one of them, giving a letter that is the invitation to studying color magic, and it says to first meet up at the village stable's. Everyone except for your character has comen as far as arriving at the stable's, and now we're just waiting for your character to show up so we can get the introduction started. So it's alright, you haven't missed out on anything. Take your time to write your post))
"Yeah, but hey, can't help it." The girl replied with a shrug of her shoulders. She seemed as if about to turn away but instead stuck out her arm towards Cylon, hand held out for a handshake.
"Hey, I didn't tell you my name yet!" The girl stated in a cheerful manner. "My name is Kira, what's yours?"
"Cylon," Cylon responded plainly, extending his own hand out long enough to give Kira's a single, firm shake before he pulled away and turned towards his horse. Kira strolled off to greet a few newcomers who were just arriving in the yard but Cylon didn't pay them much mind. He instead gently pulled on his horse's reins and guided the black mount away from the trough as the stallion had appeared to have drunk his fill.
Only half-listening to the exchanges between the other recruits, Cylon strode to his horse's side and unbuckled one of the saddlebag's on it's back, pulling out a leather waterskin. Popping out the cork off the top, Cylon leaned back against a wooden post and tipped the vessel back, taking a swig of the water inside as he waited for the Riders to arrive.

*Lore of Color Magic*
____________________________________________________________________________________________
The Elders will teach the classes. You should note that elders must be 20 or older. The elders have mastered their color magic and have a great bond with their gryphon. I will PM you information if you are one of the elders. The rest of the spots are the newbies. This is a list of all the color magics and their abilities. If you have any questions, PM me. Remember that you shouldn't choose the color magics because you like them. Each color has its own personality, choose your color magics based off your character's personality.

Superviolet
Superviolet magic is invisible except to other superviolet magic users. With superviolet, you can create smaller invisible structures. Think of superviolet like wood. Anything you cannot build from wood, you can build from this magic. It can also be used for invisible cryptography, creating invisible walls and traps, and marking targets on the battlefield. Superviolet drafters tend to have a removed or detached outlook on the world around them. They appreciate irony and sarcasm and are often thought to be coldly rational, viewing people as projects, puzzles, or something to be cracked.
NOTICE: Any magical structures have a certain time, durability. For beginners they can only maintain this for 20 minuets.
