How to play Wild Skies in 2021 (Yes, you heard me right)
A few months ago, I found this nifty offline version of Wild Skies that someone made and put on Github for anyone to download and play. Here is the link: https://github.com/hictooth/WildSkies (READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ON THE GITHUB PAGE)
I have downloaded and played all the way through it pretty much, and I can confirm it 100% works. It also passed the virus scanning test on VirusTotal, a popular website that scans files for a bunch of common viruses. So.. download and play at your own risk, but this has worked for me and it was really great to be able to play this nostalgic game again! I've scoured the internet looking for alternative ways to play Wild Skies again, like trying different web browsers or dozens of different websites, and this has been the only thing that's worked.
----IMPROVEMENTS----
-saving works!
-it is offline!
-In theory, you can transport your game between computers by uploading the game file to your Google Drive
-ALL textures are working! (If you played WS in the browser before it got yeeted, you might recall some textures of food and houses and vikings all turned bright blue. not a problem here!)
-THE WAIT TIMES ARE SO MUCH SHORTER HALLELUJAH (because it's offline and nothing is loading over a network- it's all just loading from your computer directly.)
-The voice acting is better than SoD's. (probably just because Hiccup is the only one talking)
-Wild Skies features the baby Hiccup (first movie Hiccup) for some good nostalgia. I still can't believe that HTTYD1 and HTTYD2-3 Hiccup is the game guy.
-Also, Wild Skies graphics are way better than SoD's. I highly recommend checking out this game purely because of that.
Also I'll be here to answer questions!! Have fun!
I've missed this game so much. Thanks for letting us know! I'll go download it and all that.
Now if only someone could find a way to bring back the other HTTYD games, too.
Just the ones that needed flash to run, that can't be run any more because of it.

Tracking.
Never played the original game, so I have always wondered what I've missed.
I'm so interested in how did they get their hands on this dead game and how they made it offline. I Used to play this for hours when I was a kid, collecting all the dragons. It's good for some nostalgia but defnitely won't be better than SOD for me, I don't really like singleplayer games now. Thanks for posting and yep I have it on my google drive now ;D
P.S. Something important I just remembered- when you take your first flight on Toothless, if you press the up arrow key, he will fly down, and when you press the down arrow key, he will fly up.
You can fix this after taming your Deadly Nadder and finishing the Hiccup tutorial by going into your notebook (pressing enter) and going into settings (cog symbol at top) and then clicking "Invert Y-axis on flight."
When I was younger, I did not know what a y-axis was so this confused me and it took me a while to figure it out, so I'm just letting you all know so you don't get confused. (If you don't know what a y-axis is, it's basically just up and down. An x-axis is side to side in one direction, and a z-axis is side to side in the direction perpendicular to the x-axis.)
