Happy Pride!
June has rolled around and that means it's LGBT+ Pride month.
Happy Pride to my fellow LGBTQIA vikings! You are all amazing and I love you!
What? What does that mean?
Lesiban, Ga.y, Bi, etc... That's why there's a +. I think.i wonder if the + includes otherkin...
Anyways. It's pride month, because it's 2017 and finally people are feeling courage enough to come out of the closet. Propergananda like this encourage people who feel this way to be proud of who they really are. To some, it feels like everyone is a homophobe.
I am trying to touch this as light as possible, I do not want to offend anyone. Especially over the internet, this can be a touchy subject. I try not to share my views in the matter, it might offend someone or can be easily taken the wrong way.
The + does not include otherkin. The + is for genderqueer and ace-, pan-, poly-, and demi- sexual/romantic, ect. That is to say, the comunity is for those who for whatever reason don't fall under the Cis/Heterosexual umbrella and so have to stuggle with society on that topic. Identifying as an animal, fictitious character, or object has nothing to do with gender or sexuality and cishets who do should find their own representation for that aspect.
(Ace here, btw)
thank you ^^ and happy pride month to you as well!
Wow. My subject could not be more accurate.
If it's pride month then prepare for Bible debates!!! Woo hoo!
Bible debate people are such party poopers
1. Your extremely rude.
2. I was just giving you a heads up. I'm gonna be who I am. And I'm going to be proud of it.
Um, I never said that.
No there is not.
And no. I will be who I want in every thread. If you can be LGBT+ blah blah then I can most certainly be me.
Yeah, but you could also be a decent person and not accuse people of wrongthink on a thread that is clearly not meant for you.
I know you guys have multiple Pride and LBGT+ threads.
If you have multiple threads, what can't Christians on this forum have multiple threads too?
If someone new to the forum didn't know about the aforementioned thread and created their own thread about Christians, did they do something wrong? If they did know, they couldn't find it and thus made the new thread.
Also, maybe the reason they made a new thread is to start new and fresh.
If you want to have your threads, why can't we have ours?
Just asking, I mean no disrespect.
But there is no month to celebrate How to Train Your Dragon stuff, yet we still talk about that on the forum.
"I'm not going to resurrect dead threads that are a year or more old."
Using your thinking process, us Christians cannot use the other Christian thread because it is nearly 1 year and 2 months old. You say we can only talk about Christian topics on that thread, yet you just said you wouldn't resurrect a dead thread over a year old. Well, which is it? Do you want us to go against what you just said or go against what you said before?
But you have the choice to either let it affect you or just ignore it and let them do what they want. If you don't reply to them, they should eventually give up.
Things are only bad to you if you let them be bad. If you don't let anything affect you in the sense from telling you what to do and what not to do, then Christians could post as many threads as they would like on the forum. Same goes for you guys. But the reason at least I don't make a lot of Christian threads, is because a lot of people would not want to see so many Christian threads out there. So, out of respect, I would only do a few threads and then take the rest of it to pm where we can all do what we want for as long as we want.
I was going off of what the first that started the thread was dated. Didn't know you meant the last, most recent post. That thread does remind me of a close friend I lost, so a lot of times I don't want to go back to that thread. I just want to move on and just keep an eye out for those who say they are a Christian and then talk with them in pm to invite them to my prayer groups that I took over for said friend.
The same could be said for your other threads. If we shouldn't make a new thread about a Bible subject, why do you get to make a new thread about you guys?
I agree, they could have worded their OP a lot better and it would have gotten a better reaction from both sides.
I've said this before, "I don't feel like I am in the majority."
Actual practicing Christians that think, talk, and act like a Christian is supposed to, there are not that many out there. If the whole world was counted, only a fraction of world would be a true Christian.
I know, you've said that and I get it. I was just saying that I was not sure what you meant and explained where I got my numbers from. I was confused because you said in one comment that one should confine their remarks to the designated thread, yet you just said in this post that I can make all the threads I want.
Whatever the percentage may be, I don't consider a lot of them Christians because of the actions they do are against' the Bible. If they are against the Bible, they are not being a very good Christian.
There are those that are trying to push Christians to tolerate what the LBGT+ community is doing. We don't have to agree with anything you do, let us disagree.
-Op this is dead, nvm-
What happened to loving others? Thanks for improperly representing Christains! ._.
<3
Happy pride to all whom it applies to! Here's to a good and safe future.
Now lets hope that people won't start berating others for their lifestyles in this thread. Live and let live, huh?
I should hope not! This is a nice community (most of the time), those who I know believe in a religion are polite about it and don't try to force their beliefs onto another. Then if course, we still get the stray doomsday post but, I haven't seen one in a long time. Of course, I'm probably jinxing it.
As far as I remember, there's definitely people on the forum who are always itching to poop on threads like these. Luckily they're a minority and they usually get snarked at anyway so it's become much, much less frequent :þ so that's a good thing!
:))
I always figured Gobber had his *ahem* "Dick Tracy" chewed off by a dragon during a dragon fight back in the day.
I'm not an LGBTIQ myself, but I do support the rights and their own choices, and I wish every one of them a very Happy Pride month!
I'm not LGBT+, however I still want to wish you guys Happy Pride =D
P much straight but happy pride day LGBT+ people! \( ^o^ )/
Is it just me or the abbreviation is just getting longer and longer
Like when did they add QIA
Welp, that explains everything. Thanks ^-^
Thank you, and happy Pride Month to you too! :D
<3
YEAH! HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!
Bi person here^
How. Dare. You.
You have turned a sign of Hope into something so stupid. How dare you? What will you do next? Turn a cross into the sign for abortion? That is all I can say to this.
How dare you?
This is why people stereotype christians
And paint the real Christians a bad name.
This person is not acting like a Christian should act.
If this is how they treat other people, they must not mind being treated the exact same way back to them. If they do mind, then they are being hypocritical about the whole thing. There is no middle. If things are to be treated fair and equal, either you do all or don't do any.
Oh yes. How dare we use the sign of Hope to represent "I hope people stop trying to kill me or ostradizing me from society for being born with differant traits."
If you want to come into this thread telling us we shouldn't exist, you need to hear what a complete jerk that is.
Now please kindly go away.
Also don't try to talk anti-choice here either, there's better forums for that.
That's the plan.
Years huh? You think you got something on me? That symbol has been ours for THOUSANDS of years.
Ah yes. Now I can never draw rainbow again without it meaning something. Now I can't wear anything rainbow. Now I can't have a rainbow anywhere near me?! This is why I am mad! You took our symbol from us! My sister used to be represented in our family as a rainbow! But now she can't so because some people decided that it was theirs?
Yes, you have had the rainbow for longer, but we did not steal it from you. We just decided to use it as well. There is nothing wrong with sharing a symbol as simple as a rainbow. There's no point fighting over who it belongs to. It belongs to both groups. You can have your rainbow, and we can have ours. Now, this thread is about celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, and since you obviously aren't here to do that, pleast stop posting here.
You can't copyright colours of the rainbow. They have been in existence since 'water' became a thing. The only colour you are not allowed to use is the blackest black because it has copyright protection.
If you're that upset about a bunch of colours in a spectrum, you need to rethink your life choices.
Also, If you're trying to advertise Christianity as an intolerant, hateful and vitriolic religion, you're doing very well. I'm sure you'll repel many people from Christianity with that behaviour. Such tolerance, much love.
I can't believe someone is so hypocritical and childish as to create drama because of a dam.n rainbow? How old are you, 5? Because the only people I know who would use this type of ridiculous argumentation are children.
The entire rainbow spectrum can now be claimed, apparently. Unbelievable!
I would like to copyright ultraviolet light please, so I can sue all of the mantis shrimp and flowers for using those colours without my permission
The full acronym is LGBTQIA, and it stands for G.ay, L.esbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Q.ueer/Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual. There are a larger number of other terms and identities, but the ones listed generally act as umbrella terms to encompass the wider variety.
For example - Polysexual or Pansexual fall under the Bisexual umbrella, and Demisexual is covered under Asexual.
June is LGBT+ Pride month, at least in the US. I'm not sure about elsewhere. It's a month to join together as a community and celebrate who we are within a society that oppresses us and generally looks down on us and/or thinks we're wrong for being who we are.
