Whether you get in legal trouble or not depends on if someone wants to press charges. (Which means if someone activly decides it's bad enough to get police involved)
Being sorry for something won't actually stop you from getting in trouble. You could still get in trouble for being an acomplace regaurdless of being sorry.
When it comes to legal stuff it's your actions that matter the most. If you've done damage to something or someone saying sorry doesn't erase the damage if lasting damage has been caused. As an example. Let's say someone cuts down someone else's tree without permission. Saying sorry may help put these people back on speaking terms or make the victem less mad but it doesn't make the tree magically reapear.
Apologizing doesn't erase the action so sometimes saying sorry is not enough to make up for something.
Basically legal stuff isn't entirely like usual human to human interactions. The police can still come for you even if you say you're sorry. They care more about the actions then your intentions.
Before this scares you too much though being trully not able to understand the consiquences of your actions when you were doing them is a legal defense. Children and mentally challenged people are often let off easyer because of this (though with the mentally challenged thing it does depend on what type of mental thing they have and what the situation was).
Also, you only have to worry about legal trouble if you upset someone enough for them to get the law on you. Police and courts won't go after this sort of stuff without someone asking them to.
Hullo tornadochaser!
Just a small piece of advice I've learned throughout my forum years: like many people have said, try to contact the Jumpstart team first rather than make multiple posts on the forums about players who are disrespecting the game's ToS (Terms of Service).
There are two ways you can achieve this: message any SoD Admin (Brynjolff is the best example, yet these days appears to be busier than ever), or contact the Support Team via email: support@schoolofdragons.com
And another point I'd like to focus on: next time, try to keep this matter private; there isn't a necessity to involve more people and/or make it a public matter, especially since no one has accused you of anything yet. If someone had made it public, then you can gladly explain the situation. Nonetheless, this is just a tip from me to you, mate :)
It's public on discord and some other fan sites or something. At least that's from what I picked up from other parts of the story.
Oh, I didn't know about the Discord. I meant 'public' as in the SoD Forums.
As far as I know, this person called themselves out, and I haven't seen other threads calling them out on their behaviour; just them ratting themselves out, basically.
Yeah, I'm not entirely convinced that they understood SOD's forum was a different community then the discord ones. They kept saying they needed the SOD admin's help but the admins only have power on the SOD forums.
