~Plot~

The end times are approaching. Humans beware.

The world was a perfect utopia while they walked within the physical dimension. Trade prospered. Kingdoms thrived. Peoples flourished. That is, until their gods realized the innate faults of humanity, and walked away for good, letting humanity learn this lesson on their own. Some despise them for their decision. Some worship them blindly in the hopes they'll return and restore the world to perfection. Others research their gods' pasts in order to prevent, or preserve, the future of the 12 worlds. But their efforts are in vain as morals plunge and kingdoms collapse under a new tyranny: crime syndicates. War has become a business, rebellion a pastime. Atrocious things, things that remain unspoken but committed, are now everyday occurences. 

The only sliver of hope now is a new syndicate people call the Archetype, lead by the Archangel. No one knows how he rose to power, why he's still so powerful, or who he is. But one thing's for sure, he's an heretic, claiming kinship to a god that has left them, albeit that god was known to care more for humanity than his compatriots. 

It has been at least 97 years since the Transendence, and still vodiems decline day by day. The wrong men have gained control of the resources of the world, abusing their power to gain what little more is left of humanity. Arcahangel is by far the most tolerant of syndicate leaders, but that does not mean he is lenient or lacking in strength or shrewdness. The Archangel has managed to collect the largest portion of Vodiaks and Visha, more than the other syndicates, but something's wrong within his ranks, and he must know why if he's to maintain the syndicate's current position of influence and strength. However, that may prove an impossible task when faced with an organization of thousands of members. 

 

Some Worldbuilding History - WIP

Gods have risen and fallen since the Transcendence in human lore and legend, but there are 12 that have become the pillars upon which Noxæ has survived. In the beginning of the second æon (there are only 3 æons), a black hole opened that altered the Void energy that was in Noxæ (the universe this is taking place in). This black hole is called Vernauk's Grave, or just the Grave; the dea.th of the Vernauk star is what caused the hole to open. The Grave is only star-size (about the size of the moon) but it was enough to alter the energy fields in Noxæ, disrupting centuries of established powers. Before the Grave had opened, the only powers were within objects. After the Grave opened, powers were now accessible by people who had Void genes. There are 4 different Void genes, only 2 of which have been developed by humans. These two genes are the vodiem and vis gene. Everyone is born with one. The unlucky few that aren't born with this gene are called Vuorem. Someone with a vodiem gene is called a Vodiak, and someone with a vis gene is called a Visha. There are a couple other types of people out there, but they're irrelevant for you to know. 

 

Before the new Æon began, the Voidmongers were able to close Vernauk's Grave, a black hole that was the source of power for those with vodiem and vis genes. Over the past century, these abilities have been fading from human DNA, rendering people increasingly powerless as new generations grow and old genetics fade. Now, only 40% of the population have abilities that are still functional. 

Crime syndicates have risen in power, overthrowing the normal sovereignties and kingdoms that people lived comfortably in. War, theft, murder, and all manner of immorality reign unchecked on the planet of Lor now. Those who still retain their powers rule with an iron grasp. 

There are five major syndicates that everyone knows of: Hades, Domination, Ruin, and the Underworld. But over them all is the Archetype, a largely underground-run syndicate. They rule the shadows, watching, waiting, and weaponizing. The syndicate is run by the Archangel, a mysterious rumor-monger with more control of his remaining ability than anyone else. But there's a rift between the Archetype and the other syndicates. The Archangel claims direct kinship to Wavefarer, the Voidmonger of the Meridian Cascade, domain of water. Such a declaration shocked the world, splicing people into factions, thus giving traction to the rising syndicates. Wavefarer was renowned for her genteel, maternal nature. Not much is known about her origins, but she became a respected and beloved Voidmonger, so for someone to claim kinship to her was heretical to many. 

 

Back to a bit of plot... also kinda WIP ig sorry

There are old documents, tomes, and relics that allude to the end of Noxæ. Ezekai Sebastion, one of the first powerful Visha, broke the foremost rule of the age and looked at future rhythms (mini-eras within the æons) to see what would unfold. He had collected pieces of the future to create a Cipher, something no one knew about until too late. The Cipher was supposedly destroyed, but there are rumors that it was merely broken down into sections and hidden deep within the 12 domains of Noxæ. 

Archangel has been amassing an army of Vodiaks and Visha, much like the other syndicate leaders. In the race to see who can dominate the world with their Vodiak "army", Archangel finds himself falling behind, although he tells no one of the syndicates' ulterior motives.

The hunt for the Cipher pieces motivates everyone, as the one who pieces together the Cipher will gain knowledge of the world's end. 

So far, one of the major issues that has begun spreading throughout his members is a strange immunity. Fortunately, it is only among 8 or so people, which indicate it's spread from the original 3 they'd narrowed down the first time the Voicebox 'screamed'. 

There are a handful of people within his syndicate that the Archangel is tracking. Their powers are particularly stronger than what is average nowadays. But they aren't aware of what the Archangel already knows. Although their affiliations are numerous and complex, one thing is clear: these people could play a vital role in saving humanity. Especially once they figure out why their vodiems are acting strangely. One word: immunity. While an anonymous vodiem protects them from another's vodiem in fatal circumstances, the sideffects can be costly. 

Schemes and mysteries are afoot as the end of the world gets closer by the day. For even the most remote chance of surviving it, the Archangel will need all the powers he can get. 

 

Rules

1.  My world, my rules. I will have science-y stuff, yes, but I'm not looking to be 100% accurate to realistic science, so please don't point out any scientific errors or the like when I write on science; I do take constructive suggestions, but nothing other than that. Since this is my world, I am making my own science and very loosely basing some things off real science. If you have your own ideas to contribute, please let me know so we can talk about maybe including them in my plotline. 

2. No godmodding or OP/mary-sue characters. Balance out your characters' attributes. 

3.  Your characters are screwed, more than less than perfect--villainous, even. I expect trauma, backstabbing, double-crossing, and lies in this RP, all the makings of a strong hero--or a tragic villain. I don't expect an overload of personality weaknesses, but I expect character development that has made them what they are in this RP (backstory, character building, etc.)

4.  This may be a dystopian, villainous RP, but that doesn't we have to go into detail for certain atrocious acts and events of our characters, which means keeping violence, villainy (as well as general screwed-ness), and romance at and below PG-13.

5.  No controlling other's characters. Ask for permission beforehand. Collaboration is encouraged, but please run it by me first so I can make sure it doesn't stray from the plot too much. 

6. Put "At World's End" as your subject if you've read the rules and understand the plot.

7. One character per person. It might be expanded later, but for now, 1 OC/spot per person.

8. 2 powers per person. Not gonna budge on this one. Two powers per person, that's it. No hybrid powers aside from the 4 special power spots (2 still open)

Plot and Rules

~World Setting~

Set in an apocalyptic time period, the world of Lor has remnants of archaic, modern, and futuristic architecture, culture, and fashion (mostly free range on these, but please keep any ideas somewhat realistic/reasonable and run them by me first either in PMs or Discord [Critique#6248] because I have spent years building this entire world lmao :wheeze:). The main setting in which the RP takes place is the continent islands of Zaellias; there are five main islands: Hyste, Vorem, Taia, Jylur, and Ivenge. 

Hyste (high-st) is the largest island and one with the most diverse topography. Most of the inner island is a savanah and moderately populated in the central area. There are a few key rivers flowing through Hyste that originate from the Prago Delta, just outside of the capital city of Vya. This rather large metropolis is built into a circular range of mountains called the Oracle Range. One of the major rivers that flows from Prago Delta goes through one of the Oracle mountains and goes around one side of Vya, providing a fresh water source but another thing to heavily defend. Branching from this important river are smaller rivers that keep the dense Aidna Forest well-watered and lush, providing a haven of sorts for freeloaders not too far from Vya. 

  • Vya, capital of Hyste and main HQ of Archetype, is a bustling apocalyptic city that's design was very intentional and creative, hiding secrets and passages that are still yet to be discovered. Vya is pretty big, maybe Tokyo size, idk, still working on more precise stuff, but it be big.
  • Vya is split into 3 zones; the first zone is the outermost zone with the most exposure to the neutral populace. The second zone is the center of Vya and is the busiest zone that houses all the civilians, the civilians that work (called the workforce), and surface operations (syndicate-involved things that don't involve too much vital risk if there's a breach). The third zone is underneath Vya entirely with a few strategically placed gateways and passages to and from Zone 2 and Zone 3.
  • One of the most common places in Vya for both syndicate members and neutral populace to visit is Toza Plaza, located within the Guest District of the 2nd Zone. It's one of the safest sections of Vya and eastiest locations for spies to infiltrate. However, not many spies have made it past the 1st Zone thanks to the joint efforts of the Security and Defense Divisions.

 

Ivenge is the second largest island after Hyste and the first of the remaining four to have a unique geographical shape (not circular like Hyste but instead elongated and curved). Largely populating the desertous island is the syndicate of Ruin. Ivenge's topography is swampy and heavily forested. There's hardly any totally dry land to be found except for the very center of the island where the land is most elevated. Even then, the highest point of land is still damp, but not as much as the rest of the island. 

 

Vorem is the third largest of the islands and by far the coldest in both climate and tyranny. Aside from the frigid temperatures, Vorem is fortified by natural cliffs that make it extremely difficult for unassisted cliff-climbing or transportation. The Hades syndicate plagues the island in large groups to maintain rigid order and control of their members. 

 

Taia is the fourth island and the second coldest after Vorem. Unlike Vorem up in the north, Taia receives half the amount of snow and twice as many storms and harsh weather. Taia is very mountainous and the most elevated of the islands aside from Hyste, which makes a great base for the Domination syndicate. There's always at least a breeze blowing across the hilly terrain. Despite the wind and storms, it's very green there. The storms provide Domination's main source of fresh water. The syndicate has managed to create manmade craters and other devices to collect as much storm water as possible, which has become the easiest way to get fresh water aside from the handful of freshwater rivers and lakes. 

 

Jylur is the smallest and hottest island of the five. Opposite of Ivenge, it's mostly dry, with a lot of canyons, plateaus, and a scarce number of rivers. The island is very, very flat, and most of the populace is located on the outer edges of the island because of a chain of impassable canyons and abysses that split Jylur's surface. The UnderWorld has managed create a precarious environment almost fully underground to escape the relentless heat and sand. 

 

Other island details are coming. Thought I'd focus on Hyste for now since that is where we will be at the most throughout the roleplay.

Syndicate Divisions

Communications (Integral Affairs, Social Communications, Marketing, Intercoms) - Communications is the largest known division of the Archetype aside from Defense and Civilians. People in Communications are smart, tech savvy, and generally like to stalk whatever they can (including their coworkers and fellow syndicate members). 

 

Espionage (Intel Harvesting, Deciphers, Rival Watch, Recon, Special Services) - Despite popular belief, the Espionage division of the Archetype is massive in terms of networking, almost twice as big as the Communications division. These people are excellent are weeding out what information they want, sneaking into places they're not supposed to go, and becoming people they aren't. Getting into this division is almost as hard as joining the Security or Defense division. 

 

Resources (Supply Line Management, Supply Transport, Medical Administration, Food Distribution) - This is a rather easy, lowkey division to be a part of. Their management and bargaining skills are superb. 

 

Integral Management (Ext. Syndicate Operations, Membership Housing, Membership Management) - These people are bossy, organized, and are good at keeping track of what's going on within the syndicate. They're somewhat people persons, but they're more bossy and organized than anything. 

 

Defense (Combat, Special Weapons Training, Assault, Member Protection, Special Services) - These people are sturdy, strong, and don't mess around. They are typically more physical over mental, but they're always there to watch your back. The best of them have a good balance between cognitive and physical attributes that make them the best in their division. 

 

Security (Member Protection, Preimeter Defense, Cyber Security, Intercoms) - These people are always analyzing you, watching any sus movements and always asking disarming questions to catch you off guard. Similar to Defense, but they are more grumpy and less... chivalrous, to put it loosely. 

 

Welfare (Recruitment, Social Networking) - These people love talking and are good at connecting with others. They're usually more on the optimistic side of things, and actually (mostly) enjoy company. 

 

Civilians (non-contributing members) - Self-explanatory. These people just benefit from the protection of the syndicate and being affiliated with it.

Abilities Explained (WIP)

The powers that humans can wield are because almost all humans are born with a Void gene. There are technically 4 genes, but only 2 are accessible to humans. The two genes that humans are born with are called vodiem or vis genes. Humans are born with one or the other, rarely both (the rarity thing was higher earlier on in history, but in present-day Noxæ it's about 50-50 chance due to the pollution of the gene pools). 

There are three things needed for someone's vodiak or vis to work properly: Void energy, a "key", and one of the Void genes.  Void genes were naturally developed by Void energy. Keys are more complicated, but you don't need to worry much about that. The Grave was the initial key for vodiems.

 

Important! Read this: ↓

Studies show that vodiems and vis are mostly functional for around 9 out of 24 hours a day. Potency and accuracy of vodiems fluctuates without a pattern (it varies with each individual). 

Trying to get activate or use these powers worksworks around 6/10 attempts (so not every time you you try using your ability will work). 

Due to having no control of these powers, researchers have found out that abilities can triggered, providing a sort of psuedo control over someone's vodiem. Abilities can be triggered by anything or through any means. An ability trigger remains the same, however, but success rates fluctuate throughout the day.

My Form (kinda WIP sorry)

Name: Vampere (underground intel network psuedonym is the Mind Stealer)

Age (13+): 23

Personality: Vampere prefers keeping to herself, but has learned open up to certain people. She's always on the hunt for any information she thinks will benefit her business. She comes across as abrasive, shrewd, and domineering. She's temperamentally volatile, meaning she's slightly moody when her telepathy gets overwhelming and rarely goes catatonic. She prefers people watching over having to deal with social interactions, and she doesn't really care about people's feelings if it doesn't benefit her division in some way. She's callous and cold hearted, preferring to just get it done than set it aside for a later date. She has formed no lasting relationship as far as anyone can tell, and enjoys provoking someone when she feels like it. She gets snappy and impatient when angered or things don't go her way, and she doesn't give a fig about the consequences later. 

Appearance: A little shorter than average, athletic, broad shoulders. Angular features (not Angelina Jolie angular tho), and has auburn hair that hints to her temperament. Her clothing consistently draws from the punk category, though when she's on the job she'll change into something less conspicuous to blend in with the crowds. 

Hairstyle and color; Facial

Backstory: Previously ran the largest spy and intel network on the continent, and that's all that is known. 

Division: Espionage (runs the Epsionage Special Services subdivision as well [assassination, political manuevering, dirtier work and the like])

Position: Chief (classified); Director of Special Services (public domain). She's known as an elite spy and as.sassin, and there are rumors of who the Chief of Espionage is due to how allegedly reclusive d the chief is. However, Vampere's commonly known position in Espionage is Director of Special Services. Reason being, Vampere wants to be able to keep an eye on her spies and direct Intel better, and the best way she came up with to do this was to have her true identity clouded in rumors and false trails. 

Vis: Electio-Psion; Vampere uses/abuses the telepathy apsect to the utmost of her ability (not intended until after I thought of it lmao). It's the nexus of why she's such an accomplished spy and as.sassin. It also causes trauma of its own, which is why her outward characteristics are so inconsistent to the watching eye. She's inadvertedly adapted to the minds she's eavesdropped on. Her most used form of simulating psychic powers is telekinesis and telepathy. 

Vis: Meta Crafting; Vampere can craft virtually anything from anything she wants. Her personal arsenal is limited, however, due to the Crafting vodiem slowly mutating into dormancy (meaning she in theory she could craft anything but in reality she can't because of the vodiem gene mutating enough to affect the vodiem). Limit details are WIP, but as of now she can't craft anything too intricate/complex like a nuclear bomb with a snap of her fingers (it's a possibility but would require time and nuclear knowledge). Basic things like books, utility items (wrenches, screws, scissors, etc.), and every day things (clothing, plastics, bags, etc.) are things she can make with ease because she does them on a daily basis as a spy. 

Ability Trigger: (Electro-Psionic) Confidential (she's one of the higher ups; this confidiality is largely meant to protect her from being targetted but so far that's backfired so now she has a bodyguard too aside from an annoying flirtatious assistant)

Ability Trigger: (Meta Crafting) She doesn't know exactly what triggers this vodiem. It's either popping a joint (finger, elbow, neck, wrist, any joint) on purpose or accident (like she'd pop her neck and she'd accidentally make whatever mental image is that the forefront of her mind at that point), or holding her breath for a 5-8 seconds. 

Skill sets: Espionage; psychology, parkour; con artistry

Extra:

  • Vampere knows many things about her most active spies without their realizing it, her telepathy coming into play for her to achieve this. As chief of the Espionage division, it's her literal job to know things, so no surprise there. 
  • Vampere is immune to the effects of other vodiems, but she doesn't know why. (So are the rest of ya'll on varying levels of immunity)
  • Sometimes Vampere's telepathy is reversed, meaning she hears her own thoughts (like an echo) and sometimes can hear her unconscious mind. It's a rare occasion that's gradually increasing in frequency. 
  • Vampere has figured out that when the ringing in her ears starts up, her telepathy will either begin or end. This isn't her trigger, just a precursory signal that her brain has developed to figure out when her telepathy is working.

Personality: Baron is an uptight person who thrives off rules and organization. There must always be something scheduled next or he is probably going to lose his mind and learn a lesson in either relaxing or all the world crashing down around him. @Dylieh: What do you mean by screwed?

By screwed I mean totally wrecked (so between what you're thinking and just being unlucky) or just a meh kind of life. Characters aren't perfect. Their background is riddled with trauma or just negative experiences, or their character development is stunted, twisted, or tragic. Stuff like that.

@Dylieh: How many powers can we have?

You're allowed 2 powers (you can use psuedo control if you wish, but not all attempts will be successful). 

 

@Dylieh: What positions are available?

I'll make a list of positions available in the other post. Also, specify what kind of positions. Like rank/hierarchy in the syndicate, or like job occupations?

 

@UltraGeek: Can we have the same ability?

People can have two powers, and can have the same powers. I was originally going to say no to two people having the same power, but let's spice it up a bit, shall we? I'm also working on expanding the ability selections, so feel free to suggest some within reason. Also, Superpower Wiki is a good place to get some power ideas. 

 

@Wolf and Star: Is there a Diplomacy division?

Syke what I wrote before. Yes. It's been dvided into two subdivisions, social communications and marketing. 

 

@ZestyDragonWing: What is the time era?

The "time era" is dystopian (but in this storyline RP there's an actual apocalypse coming so yeah). What makes it dystopian is the decline of powers and modernity. Time era aesthetic though is ruinous to sci-fi (so basically aesthetics and architectures from any and all eras because end of the world woohoo we've already seen it all at this rate)

 

@RandomGirl2010: Can we have pets?

@SkyHunter22: How is it decided which syndicate we're in?

You're all initially affiliated or associated with the Archetype as your primary syndicate. However, you can be double crosses and be part of a another syndicate if you wish, just not as well integrated as they are in the Archetype because of plot reasons. 

 

@everyone: I understand there's secrecy and whatnot, but just to put it out there, the higher position a character has, the more it makes sense some of their information is confidential. A lower position can definitely have secrets, but it'd be harder since they don't have clearance or confidentiality in higher powers. (I appreciate all the questions and creativity, and I'm sorry for any confusion caused in my lack of coordination/communication.)

 

@Dyl/everyone: What are Ability Triggers? (sorry for the confusion. My bad)

Ability Triggers are how you gain some psuedo control of your abilities. For instance, if I had fire manipulation, any source of heat would be my trigger, allowing me to fire bend in general. Or I would be a telekinetic and flexing a certain muscle would trigger my telekinesis. One last example could be my character has one of the more advanced or special powers, so their trigger would be a little more specific, like seeing a certain color, saying a word, etc. It doesn't have to be ability-related as long as it gets your ability working 6 out of 10 tries. Hopefully that helps. Let me know if it doesn't. 

 

@chameisida: The powers max is 2, but feel free to just have one. 

The level of villainy is dependent on what you want. He can also be a normal person, too, who's just glum, depressed, or whatever you wanna make him. 

The question about Ability Triggers has been answered in the Abilities Explained section and in the question above. 

As for your abilities, those are great! I'm ok with really most powers as long as they're not OP. 

 

@Dyl: What is the goal of our characters?

Your characters personal goal is primarily to survive. Second, it's to find out who the Archangel is (why he's still so powerful and whatnot) and what he knows (he's been scarce with what information he gives out but he knows a lot of important things. I can't tell you more for plot reasons). In the RP plotline, the character goals are to fight against the other syndicates alongside the Archetype, try to survive the ensuing war, and (cliche, yes, but necessary) save the world from self-destruction. 

 

@everyone: I've done a thing! There's a been a plot development! Go read it and enjoy what glorious teasers I have prepared for you!

This means they're immune to others powers over them, even each others (but, as with the rest of the vodiems in this RP, it only works at random times for so long). But there are adverse side effects (for instance, Vampere's telepathy will randomly read back her own mind, causing migraines and other cerebral malfunctions.) Feel free to make these sideffects minor or major, whichever you think best for your character. The thing is, immunity is nice and all, but at what cost?

 

@Zesty: How do we determine the success rate of our vodiems?

I trust y'all will use your judgement on this. You're free to use a RNG if you wish, though. 

 

@SkyHunter22: When will we start?

Continent of Zaellias, Archetype region, city of Vya

The continent of Zaellias (zay-lee-us) is divided between 5 major islands; four that are elongated and spiral around the fifth and largest island. Each syndicate has claim over an island. The rougher terrain between syndicate regions is also considered neutral because of how unreachable, uninhabitable, and uncontrollable the topography is there. 

Each syndicate has claimed a few regions of Zaellias, the last remaining inhabitable continent on Lor. The regions were never given official textbook names aside from which syndicate occupies it. Everyone knows that when you enter syndicate territory, you better obey their rules and watch out because no where is safe. 

Vya is the city in which the Archetype holds the most power. 

Vya is roughly shaped like a haphazard circle. Despite the Archetype having the most infuence within the city, there are still operatives, spies, and small, minor HQs from other syndicates. 

Archetype runs and "owns" the largest island in Zaellias, Hyste, which just so happens to be in the veritable center of the continent. Archetype also has the largest count of members, contributing and non-contributing combined. Archetype also has the highest tolerance of the neutral populace and has allowed them a few regions of the island to live on so long as they don't get nosy or obnoxious. 

Hades claims the northern island of Zaellias called Vorem, and has a moderate number of ruthless members. The city HQ of Hades is Cere (sare). 

UnderWorld reigns supreme on the southern island of Zaellias named Jylur, and is the most rundown and ramshackle of the syndicate islands. The city HQ of the UnderWorld is Tarturus, a fitting name given the circumstances. UnderWorld is also infamous/famous for their no-return policy for members and consumer goods alike. 

Ruin rules the eastern island of Zaellias named Ivenge, and is by far the most conniving and shrewd syndicate out there. The city HQ of Ruin is Brimstone. 

Domination controls the western island of Zaellias called Taia, and also has the most direct access to the main sources of fresh water. Domination city HQ is Sehet (seh-het). Domination members are known for being physically strong, dull of brain, and also almost equal, if not surpass, the Archetype in numbers.

Okay no.. we need more information... What is Ability Triggers? The characters don't need to know, but we do because how are we suppose to answer this in the form if we don't know? It can't just be confidential, maybe to the characters themselves, but we as rpers really need this information or everything will get muddled later on. I get you want things to be hidden for plot reasons, but we can't really work off these vague statements here

Personality: She's very gregarious (good trait for a spy) and outgoing, which helps for gathering information. While she's learned to be the talking center of the party, she knows how to listen and observe - even the smallest details can provide the latest juice on her target after all! 
Appearance: when she needs to go undercover, she's famous for wearing a decorated fox mask, earning her the nickname Fox Spirt or Kitsune 
Backstory: One of the best spies in her network, she has only ever been caught once by the enemy. Watch out for a flash of red-gold hair in the night. You might just catch a glimpse of the fox!

Personality: Selfless and calculating, with a lot of pent-up bitterness and rage. They act in the interest of those they love and little else, willing to do almost anything to help their family, the kind of person that under different circumstances would be a humanitarian type.

Appearance: A generally tired looking man with brown greying hair, often wearing utility/workers clothes. Dresses for survival rather than fashion or comfort; work boots, jeans, wear-resistance shirts, etc. Kind of always looks like they’ve just gotten of shift at a construction site, minus the high-vis vest and hardhat.

Backstory: Turned their impoverished rural hometown into a minor mob HQ after forcing the ruling Domination syndicate out of power by organising and supplying a series of riots, as well as participating using their Vis ability. Somewhat of a folk hero, they’ve led several other incursions and rebellions against unfair rulers in small towns like their own, relying on the lack of worth in those towns and embellished stories to avoid retaliation from the larger syndicates.

Division: Resources

Position: Associate Operations Overseer (technically not part of Archetype but works very closely with them)

Ability (Vis): Nexus Swap. Teo is linked to a being in a different dimension or plane of existence, who swaps places with them briefly. They phase out, it phases in, and takes the blows for them. Teo doesn’t experience the injuries it suffers but remembers what it saw and felt. Being a separate entity, it’s unclear if this Nexus ‘guardian’ has the same goals and motives as Teo, but so far seems to be working in their favour. Appears as a lion/centaur beast with a foward-growing mane and intricate markings that don't seem to be natural (or whatever consitutes as natural to it)

(Vodium) Earth Manipulation/Influence. Minor tremors, landslides, and geomagnetic anomalies occur around Teo at random, sometimes causing disastrous chain reactions.

Vis Ability Trigger: Sudden and/or intense pain (highly unreliable trigger, more of a 30% chance)

Vodium Ability Trigger: Anger and extreme stress (semi-reliable trigger, starts low but accumulates over time)

Skill set: Resource management and bargaining, general street smarts and survival skills.

Extra: Very little formal education, so has weird gaps in their knowledge. Has more of an outsider view on the syndicates, giving them a certain confidence and disregard to the higher ups and an easier time getting support from lower classes.

Nexus swap does not negate all damage; Teo will still be left with the trigger injury and any prior hits, and doesn’t heal during the swap. The Nexus also isn’t instantly healed on swap back, so several swaps in a small amount of time wear it down a lot.

Personality: Scarlet is very upbeat and energetic. Being one of the youngest- she wants to be treated like those older than her desperately. She likes daydreaming and can spend hours in her thoughts. She also has a sarcastic tongue- although she doesn't use it on people she barely know- for her own protection.

Appearance: (Found this on google- strangely accurate on how I envision Scarlet- so I'll be using this)

Backstory: Scarlet was found abandoned on a small island as a baby with only a scarlet blanket and a presumably transparent pacifier. Her parents are thought to be dead since the water around the island was surrounded by man eating piranhas.

Ok thank you for answering! You didn't quite answer the one about unconditional power work more efficiently to balance it out but I will work something out for my form, might not be what you are looking for but I hope it's fine and balance enough?

 

Also wasn't sure about Division/postion, do tell if there's anything that need fixing

 

Name: Tim (yeah just Tim)

Age: 25
Personality: Tim is quiet, mostly closed-off and keep to himself. Very very poor social skill. It is a different story when he was with the ghosts however, with them Tim is shown to be a compassionate man who is willing to help everyone(who is dead that is) and can hold conversation with them. This is to say, Good with the deads, horrible with the living. He has a very unsettlingly indifferent point of view toward death as it makes no different to him. This enable him to be able to kil,l or let someone he loves di.e without remorse but also without ill-intention.
Tim is mostly low energy and unmotivated. Saving the world who?
Tim doesn't have a selfless bravary but he can and will fight, he is no coward or push-over--well outside of fight he is--but still. He isn't really scared of the non-social confrontation.
Appearance: Tim is a short white man with ruffle brown hair, dark eyes, rectriangle glasses and a few unkempt beard. He usually wear a cap with a cartoon duck on it. He looks really really bland and normal. Usually see carry around a Shovel.
Backstory: Tim lives a mostly normal life as the current state of the world allow him to be. His family of Mother and sister tragically died but he carried on like nothing happened. Having been able to see and talk to their ghost and thus doesn't feel the lost. He continues trying survive and get by, running an errand not only with the living, but with the deads as well as he make it his task to do them a favour and make them move on in peace one by one.
Division/position: Civillian but do work a few odd jobs for syndicate, something like finding resource, fixing their computer, smuggling some stuff. He worked with them a lot that people within can recognize him and thought he is a member but he isn't officially.
Ability (Vis?): Six Sense (See/talk to ghosts)
Ability Trigger: It is vague between, seeing a person die, touching their dead body or just having their ghost pressence near. 6/10 of the time he will see the ghost of that person when these occur but usually if he see them, he will continue to see them unless they choose not to let him see, go elsewhere or move on
Skill set: Decently strong swing/good with swinging Shovel, Decent Firearm, I.T. guy, survival skill and instinct.
Extra:  He is trailed by unsettling numbers of ghosts, like carnival balloons. Within them are his family, some bandits he ki,lled, some nice old grandmas and grandpas and so on.

Name: Sybil Thessaly (she may also be known as the Monger in her work)

Age: 23

Personality: Sybil is modest, yet very flamboyant. Some may find her personality charming, while others consider her difficult to read and annoying. She has a relatively short attention span, and her interests change very rapidly. She can smooth talk, yet often in a slightly odd way that makes her difficult to pin down and somewhat unsettling. Sybil is also very good at switching topics or lying without giving much away, especially when she is bargaining or trying to gain favor.

Appearance:

She stands at around 5’5, so slightly above average for a woman, with a thick and curvy build. Sybil has dark brown, sepia-toned skin, with a slight scattering of freckles dotting her cheeks. With slightly upturned eyes, Sybil’s pupils are a deep brown that appear nearly black. She wears eyelash extensions, giving them a long fluttering appearance. Thick yet shaped eyebrows are just barely touched by the extensions. Sybil has a relatively flat nose and plump lips. Her hair is made up of tight curls. When worn naturally curly, Sybil’s hair rests at her jawline, though if straightened, reaches a considerably longer length. Her hair color is dark brown.

Sybil loves bold colors, and thus includes them in a lot of her makeup and outfit choices. She often wears makeup that matches her outfit that day, or vice versa. She adores full eye looks and matching lipsticks, and has learned a plethora of ways to apply cosmetics.

Sybil enjoys comfortable clothing that also stands out. She goes outlandish colors for her baggy cargo pants, overalls, or large jackets. In Sybil’s mind, the more pockets, the better. So, she often purchases her clothes with this in mind. She does not have to worry about losing a purse or backpack, and also to always have everything she carries on her actual body. She usually covers almost all her skin except her face, neck, and hands, so as to decrease the chances of someone accidentally touching her skin.

In terms of accessories, Sybil will often wear many. For example, she will not wear one necklace, but at least five. If she decided to wear a hair barrette, she will most likely cover her hair with them that day.

Backstory:

Sybil lived a relatively normal life, with a well-off family. She had her differences with her parents, as all young teens do, but had an overall good relationship with them.

However, there was always something odd about Sybil. When she was younger, people that touched her while she was touching something else would find themselves becoming wary towards the other item or person Sybil was in contact with. At first, it was just an uncomfortable feeling towards specific toys Sybil played with or the food that she was eating. The odd feelings faded over time or distance away from Sybil.

Over the years, Sybil’s parents began to figure out that their odd feelings towards other objects or people came from touching Sybil as an intermediate. This was confirmed when her power got stronger over time, turning from inducing weariness to actual, almost intolerable fear.

Despite loving Sybil, her parents had to stop themselves from ever touching her. Sybil understood, but it has messed with her mental state as she is a very touch-starved individual.

One day in Sybil’s early teens, her and her mother were on the way to the store. As they were walking under an old tree, a huge tree branch suddenly cracked overhead, falling towards the women. Sybil had to push her mother to the side to avoid the impact. In the instance, Sybil touched her mother’s bare skin, while also touching her own chest in the process.

Perhaps it was impacted by Sybil’s blind reaction and panicking mental state. Her power had kicked in, but for the first time it actually had inflicted a fear not associated with anything Sybil was touching… other than herself.

Sybil’s mother could not mentally stand to be around Sybil from this point on. It was not her mother’s fault; it was irrational. But it did not seem to fade over time or distance, at least at the speed Sybil’s inducements usually did.

Sybil’s dad tried to figure out some sort of living compromise, but Sybil knew her being around in any capacity harmed her mother. She took to the streets at this point, not even keeping in contact with her father, as even that may somehow bring the subject of her up and make things more difficult on her father. Sybil could also not stand the shame.

Sybil eventually fell in with the Archetype, becoming part of their supply transport in the resources division. More specifically, a smuggler. Her skill set made it extremely easy to 'persuade' people; especially if she was buying from them the very things they feared.

Division: Resources

Position: Smuggler

Power: Phobia Inducement

Power Trigger: Sybil has to touch someone in order to give them a phobia.

Sybil has little control over when her power works from the touch. In other words, it may or may not occur, making it difficult to touch people for fear of it either working, or not working, depending on the specific outcome wanted.

 However, it is more likely to work (for good or bad) if she is touching the thing/person/object/etc. with one pinky when touching the person she inflicts the phobia upon with her index finger. And less likely to occur if she does not use these fingers to touch others.

Skill set: Sybil is great at bargaining and sneaking (generally illegal) items to the individuals that sell them off to high payers. She is very persuasive, whether due to the use of her powers or just her own skills of making deals.

Extra: Sybil’s phobia inducement is temporary, usually only lasting minutes (though there are very specific cases when it lasts longer, such as in her backstory). Generally, people will lose the effects over either (1) time, or (2) physical distance between themselves and Sybil.

Name: "The Gentleman" Kayleth (Kay - Lith)

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Personality: 

There is a dark and mysterious charm to Kayleth. With a coy smirk on his lips and a mischievous gleam in his eyes, he finds himself very popular amongst men and women alike. He is a seriously smooth talker, a quick witted silver-tongued menace with no moral qualms to scamming someone out of their hard earned coin. 

He is very much a “hit and run” type of fellow, notorious for abandoning his jaunts in their bed chamber, along with a good sum of their valuables. 

Of course, he uses his charm in less direct methods to achieve his goals such as manipulation. He is able to wrap his targets around his fingers, using up their usefulness.  

He often uses his obscure past as a way to attract unwitting victims with a strong urge to help “fix” him. 

He is extremely intelligent but not really conniving. He is a simple man, working in his own best interests. And long as his interests align with that of another, he will be fiercely protective and loyal. Until his interests shift, that is. 

That being said, he does have a strong sense of morality and will refuse to cross the line of what he deems “evil”. These “evil” things seem completely random and unrelated and not even Kayleth seems to be able to justify them. But for whatever reason, there are a few things that he absolutely refuses to do (ie. light a fire or use a match). 

He carries himself with a strong sense of confidence, his posture is often immaculate and suave. Confidence and composure in every cat-like sauntering step. 

He has a dark sense of humour and a subtly flirtatious attitude with a dirty mind to boot. Of course, he guises these aspects of himself under a mask of gentlemanly behaviour. He has an uncanny ability to speak hours in conversation with someone and not reveal a single thing about himself.  

Backstory: 

Even very young, Kayleth has been on one watch list or another. And his inclination for crime never truly left him and he has managed to take root in a prominent city. The influence he has grown for himself is expansive and he uses it to better himself. 

 
While his official  title is the chiefs assistant in the Espionage department,  this is NOT wildly understood knowledge by anyone outside of Espionage.  The title he is publicly presented with is a Communications Manager. 
 
While he is not one of the spies who go deep undercover (that he is aware of),  he is still a purveyer of information with a monopoly on deal making. He goes by the alias "The Gentleman" (as his actual name is semi classified information) and owse a bar not too far from the center of town, which disguises his operations underneath. 
 
Desperate people come to him with their problems and with a flick of his wrist and the Archangel Syndicate's resources  he makes them vanish. Of course, these wishes come at a hefty price. Usually that price is information. If the information proves to be false or not valuable,  Kayleth is known to force his victims into indentured servitude for the Syndicate.  
 
Kayleth is also a respected businessman. He values his partners but dealing with him can certainly prove to be dangerous.  
 
Despite his station, Kayleth does not seem to be above petty theft and consistently steals from his compatriots, as if he isn’t aware they are supposed to be allies.

He is incredibly charming. So much so that the magnetism of his personality seems seems be supernatural in nature. People can't help but love him (Vampere seems immune to this for whatever reason) and sometimes that can lead to extreme infatuation. It never occurred to him that sometimes when people just do whatever he tells them to, it may be a bit more than simple loyalty. Those under the influence of a complete charmspeak (these are rare. Usually the ability manifests itself as just his charming and magnetic aura) will become utterly and entirely besotted with him. Enamored to the point where they are willing and forced to do anything he tells them to.

 

Ability (Vod): Fire manipulation

 

Ability trigger: Unknown for the charmspeak and extreme stress and/or danger for the fire. Anger or grief can also trigger it. Essentially any extreme negative emotion.

Also. He can trigger his powers without a negative emotion by adding a semantic element to it. He needs some kind of Burnable substance and/or ash. Certain hand motions will activate certain moves. None of this is required for an emotional casting but those are rare.

 

Skill Set: Con artistry, diplomacy, combat (allegedly), bargaining, theft, parkour (allegedly)

 

Extra: open for romance from any Gender

Age: 22
 
Personality: Snobby and supercilious, due to his confusing history, he believes he's a product of the gods themselves. Rather brutally honest and cares very little for the feelings of anything that isn't him. He has an extremely bleak look on life and would prefer to see the world burn than flourish. Despite the solemn perspective of reality, he's always finding new ways to entertain himself. Be it from verbal drama of rumours, or setting cities aflame, he'll find something to do, and it's generally at the cost of someone else's misery. However, he is extremely skittish when confronted by several people at once, sometimes acting animal-like in tense situations even if he's in his human form. Has more control of the scene if it's only a few people present.
 
Appearance:

Backstory: After a tragic accident resulting in his death, Elias' parents were heartbroken. Having a funeral within the month, they mourned over his loss for the better part of the year. That was until he wandered up to the door, asking to be cleaned of the dirt from the ground, and causally went to bed like nothing happened. The few months following were tense for the family, the relationship between them all straining more as he dicovered his shifting ability. Ecstatic about the dicovery, his parents continued to grow in confusion and fear. Eventually distancing themselves from him and became verbally abusive, he began to break down in sorrow before finally snapping. "Accidentally" setting the house ablaze with himself and his parents inside. His revival kicking in much faster than before, letting him wake up the day after the fire and find his way from the town. The whole family declared dead. Going from city to city causing mayhem in his early teens, then found himself out in the wilderness. Devoting most of his years to making it his home and eventually succeeding in building a quiet estate out in the middle of nowhere hidden by large trees and shrubery. With the extra sense of security coming from the wild life that lives in the same environment. But has no control, nor want of control over the creatures. Elias tended to still travel to various places to cause havoc and gained himself the name Aythora from a set of locals. He rather liked the word and kept it rolling for every city he visited until they all called him by it.
 
Division: Factionless so far
 
Position: To be discovered
 
Ability (Vis): Limited Revival (Unknown to everyone but himself. No one suspects)
 
Ability (Vodiem): Shape-Shifting (Decently known and used often in front of people)
 
Ability Trigger:
  
Vis - In order for it to kick in, he has to die.
   Vodiem - Generally his form will change based on thought process of that animal, but can change to a creature fitting his emotion. Uses most of his energy on the dragon form, so isn't able to shift as easily into other creatures.
Skill set: Great tracker in the wild, and agile. Can hold his own in a fight but not for very long unless he switches forms. Decent smooth talker if he needs to be. Impecable hearing and eye sight. Able to manipulate situations to his liking when it's called for.

Extra: Most are unaware of his real name and instead call him by Aythora due to his actions in his travels.
 
Knows very little of the syndicate, only hearing whispers of it, yet he has very little interest to seek it out.

Does have a current hideout out in the middle of nowhere where he spends some of his time.
Shifting works more often than not, however he is frequently trapped in one form or another for long periods of time.
Revival works always, however the time frame of his return varies depending how he died. He will also have a pain related to the spot of death for a short time after. Unable to use this ability on anyone else.

Due to his emotional based power, he has managed to get a rather decent grasp of it to keep the power under as much control as he can.

I have to ask now that I've thought about it, regarding the landscape outside of the cities and stuff, would it be accurate to think of it a little bit like the landscapes in David Armsby's "Don't Feed The Freaks"? Basically just, monumentally messed up and cursed where the laws of reality don't apply anymore. This world feels like it's in a similar vein to that (wondering also if you were inspired by it if you already know it), and would be a useful point of reference for some ideas I'm having about Teo's backstory/a storyboard I'm doing up about them.

Personality: Born with neuropsychosis as a result of her mother’s drug habits, Aramis sees things very differently from her peers. She has constant anxiety that always fluctuates in intensity. Plagued by paranoia and vague hallucinations, Aramis is very aware of her surroundings and is usually tense or fidgety. She avoids physical contact with strangers unless it’s a punch to the face, but enjoys sensual or intimate touches from people she trusts, most of whom have died on the streets due to poor decision making and backstabbing friend circles. She can get surprisingly affectionate very rarely, but mostly lets people do the affectionate cuddling to her, something she doesn’t realize she enjoys underneath all the grumbling and complaining and mood. 

Aramis is typically withdrawn and in a “everyone’s an idiot why am I still here oh right because I have to be” mood almost always and people she doesn’t know are there. While she comes across as anxious (and she really is) and lowkey hostile to strangers and just in general, she can be enigmatic and sassy with friends. She’s got a dark sense of humor that likes to hide and never come out, but certain people can coax it out every once in a while. She won’t approach a stranger to say hi or introduce herself, and she certainly won’t smile back if a kind stranger smiles at her. 

When she was younger she used to have near-constant panic attacks when she began being integrated into society more, but has gradually overcome her crippling anxiety with the help of Kastiel’s patient and ever-present company. Aramis still has a considerably sized fear of many things, but combats her fear/anxiety with Vampere-induced confidence and determination.

Appearance: Aramis is petite in size and slender (around 5'1" in height), making her the perfect size for some sneaking. She has dark brunette hair that she keeps clipped short at her jawline, and she has the faintest (keep in mind, faintest) trace of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Her eyes are amber gold, and her facial features are blunt (square jawline, boop nose, sharpish cheekbones, small lips). For her job as Alto’s brig spy and scout, she usually wears something trending and casual to blend in, but she typically stays in the gothic genre.Her aesthetic palette is unobtrusive and unremarkable (as in not going to blind you with bright colors) and is usually gray or black. 

 

Backstory: No one really knows when or where Aramis came from, and neither Vampere nor Aramis will elaborate on Aramis' unpredicted employment under Vampere in Espionage.

Name: Alphonse, aka “The Herringbone”

Personality:

Often mild-mannered and pleasant, Alphonse seems almost old-fashioned in talk and general mannerisms. Still, that does not mean he does not exhibit a rather a nasty temper when he is set off. He is strict and does nothing to hide this fact from anyone he trains. He is very fair and will dispense praise when deserved, but on the flip side he will not hesitate to pick out every single flaw he notices in his students. He will do likewise with colleagues, though he respects equal standing people enough to only forecast his innermost thoughts when prompted.

Alphonse is very thorough, expecting students to prove they have truly mastered something before he will allow them to move on to more advanced practices. Alphonse does, however, cater his training to aid the specific individual’s learning style and needs, showcasing his attention to detail and a certain degree of empathy towards wanting them to succeed. This ends up with Alphonse making his students partake in exercises that seem entirely unrelated to the actual task they are meant to be learning. But rest assured, Alphonse chooses these purposefully, and there is a method to his process that ends up creating proficient fighters. Do not be surprised if Alphonse forces his student to wake up to paint the sunrise as a precursor to target practice.

While Alphonse does not revel in punishing others, he will not hesitate to harshly do so. This is especially relevant regarding those that either do not work up to their full potential or refuse to cooperate. Hence, Alphonse is left with both fans and critics of his teaching methods. Usually, the former are those that were self-motivated and learned not to question him, while the latter are more likely to be the ones he rejected from training further after finding out of their lack of those qualities.

Appearance:

Alphonse is a man of slightly below average height, at 5’8. He has white, medium-toned skin. Alphonse has rather square features, mostly sharp in structure. Slightly sunken cheekbones accentuate his sharp features, while a Roman-style nose is prominent. Upon opening his mouth, one can note a small gap between his upper front teeth. Alphonse had dark bags beneath his pale brown eyes from insomnia and overworking issues. Alphonse has a pupil defect in both of his eyes, known as coloboma, lacking pieces of tissue in certain areas of his eyes, making ‘gaps’ in his iris’. In his specific case, this renders his pupils to appear as if they are dripping down into his iris’. This can be slightly overlooked from a distance, as he wears a set of round glasses at most times.

Hosting a head of light brown, champagne-colored hair, it is styled with shaven undersides. This leaves the top of the head to showcase the less tamed, curly locks.

What would have perhaps been beautiful, almost unmarked skin is covered in self-inflicted stitches and small scars. Despite the morbidity of this, the cross-stitching decorating Alphonse’s body makes up beautifully colored objects and scenes. He notably enjoys pastels depicting flowers or scenery, similar to his general cross stitching and embroidery style.

In terms of clothing, Alphonse dresses in relatively simple, yet well-kept clothing. Generally, neutral or deep tones, his apparel of choice are buttoned up shirts underneath sweater vests, cardigans, or suspenders. His pants are usually brown and dark slacks or khakis.

 

 

 He will often wear a fresh flower somewhere on his person and enjoys floral perfumes and fragrances.

He carries a decorative cane everywhere with him. The top of the cane is carved to fit into the palm of his hand perfectly. The patterns decorating the cane are cross-stitch-like in appearance, matching his body mutilation habit and hobby. There is a hidden button on the cane, which will release a needle upwards from the head of the cane, impaling the hand he rests against it (more on this under his ability trigger).

Backstory:

Alphonse always dreamed of owning a floral shop, which had it come true, may have shifted his life in a far different direction. Alas, it turned out people were not much interested in purchasing flowers at the end of the world.

Born with his pupil anomaly, it is not too surprising that Alphonse was considered a bit of a freak by his peers. Having figured out his enhanced touch ability early in life, this did not help make his life easier, as this sense was often overwhelmed. Usually sleep deprived, Alphonse focused the times he could not rest on perfecting hobbies. Upon finding out that sharp, stabbing pains seemed to awaken the ability of thread manipulation, Alphonse soon delved deep into the hobbies of cross-stitching, embroidery, and other similar crafts. Over the years of learning to deal better with his enhanced touch, he soon did not mind some forms of pain any longer. He soon incorporated using his thread manipulation to create beautiful designs on himself, becoming much of both a hobby and an addiction.

Driven slightly mad after years of sleep deprivation, Alphonse grew jittery and anxious. He devoted himself to figuring out how to utilize his thread ability to the greatest possible extent. Well, as much as he could. He can not seem to ensure it works correctly more than around 60% of the time, which bothered him to no end, not aided by his already fragile mental state. In the meantime, he delved into looking into other everyday items that could be utilized in an unintended way. Alphonse wondered if he could monetize any of his ideas, but they did not seem to go anywhere. It was too niche for everyday people.

Already intrigued by the morbid, Alphonse began to associate himself with others who would accept his flaws. It turns out, there were some who were willing to pay a pretty penny for him to use his ability against unsuspecting foes. For a time, Alphonse entered a world of crime, where he would harm or even kill for money. He was stealthy enough to get close to someone without being suspected and crafty enough to go through with it in enough of an unexpected way. However, he had little joy in hurting others, often just finding the ordeal rather tiring against his senses. The only enjoyment he received was from figuring out new ways to attack a victim unexpectedly in increasingly interesting ways, rather than the actual harm inflicted against them itself.

Soon, Alphonse upped the ranks in the Syndicate. He eventually decided he would much rather stay off the field and work instead at aiding newer recruits with oddly specific power sets, such as his own thread manipulation, and honing them into precise weapons. He is one of the more highly regarded trainers on the defense team.

Alphonse still maintains a great liking towards flora to this day.

Usually, piercing himself with a needle, usually the one hidden in the hilt of his cane, he is able then to utilize this ability against others.

Enhanced Touch:

He often can when he closes his eyes. Due to relatively poor eyesight, Alphonse relies rather heavily on his surroundings through touch. He will often use his threads to heighten this ability further, utilizing them for vibrations, and his specially built cane that aids in his own movements while he is visually blind. His touch itself is also very sensitive, so most pain is also enhanced during this state. He is usually able to kick the ability into play when he closes his eyes, inherently taking away one sense so that he can heighten the other. However, this renders it very difficult for him to sleep without being awoken by the smallest of disturbances.

Skill Set:

Despite his appearance, Alphonse has extensive knowledge in using less conventional weaponry, as well as teaching others how to use their general environment to their advantage.

Extra:

  • Alphonse has some vision issues such as being nearsighted, having some involuntary eye movements, and yellow-blue color blindness. One of the gaps disconnected from his pupil gives him ghost vision in that eye, meaning he sees a secondary image that appears in his vision. Usually, it presents a false image or lighting than the actual perspective he is actually seeing from. While glasses help with some of these issues, they do not completely aid his poor vision.
  • Alphonse is far less likely to go onto the field himself unless he is specially requested to do so. As a higher-level member of the defense team, he believes it is best to make examples of those who do not take the Syndicate seriously, warning others not to attempt the same and wind up receiving the same fate. His most recent style of killing usually leaves the victim suspended, hanging from a great deal of specially manufactured thread sewn into their backs, for all to see. While gruesome, the patterns themselves are usually quite beautiful in design.
  • Alphonse enjoys playing the harp. With special threads acting strings, he can even utilize his thread manipulation to do so. However, he does prefer playing with normal strings that rely only on skill. His enhanced touch and many countless nights of sleep have contributed to his beautiful playing ability.

Personality: Judging and audacious, but extremely loyal to those he trusts. Despite his frequent change in styles for work purposes, he generally prefers the fancier side of life.

Backstory: Half brother to Aythora, and raised along side him until Aythora "died". Aythora's dad becoming highly intolerant of Shiloh's presence afterward and eventually kicks him out. Shiloh quickly adapted to the street life, learning to blend into many different crowds. The frequent traveling between sides let him to hear about the syndicate, enticing him to actively search for it. Jumping from city to city and learning as much as he could from each, eventually landing him in the syndicate. The frequent jump between differing class groups had managed to catch the syndicate's eye and when he finally arrived, they offered him a spot as a spy in their ranks. Through out his travels, he had many run ins with Aythora, the two on relatively good terms, but have some tension between them based from their mother's death.

Vis: His shifting more emotionally based than his brothers. However instead of getting trapped in certain forms for long periods of time, any form can drop at any given time and leave him as a human. Doesn't often like to fly for this reason, and generally takes on the form of a wolf with a spiked back a reptilian tail.
Vodiem: Can only drop into extremely dark shadows, can be stuck inside the shadow for a time, however can be freed if a light is shined on him.
Skill set: Stealthy and strong, knows how to fight and generally comes out the victor. However his expertise lies in mostly his ability to infiltrate places quietly and collecting information. Not as much willing to maniuplate the situation unless it's to pull the truth from people.

World is ending and we are right at it

Name: Akaei Rei (Prononced Aka-A-E Ray, Akaei is last name, Rei is first name)

Personality:

Akaei is carefree and laid back. She seems to be the person who like to keep herself Cozy and cool and always has this default grin on her face. To the very perceptive, they'd know that the smile is a little hollow and Akaei is suffering from severe depression. The one that off shoot from sadness to the smiley 'nothing is life matter' :))))))) Doesn't really care about what happen to her, others or the syndicate.

Appearance:

Akaei has the appearance that's as far away from apocalyptic aesthetic as possible. She like wearing cute pastel puffy comfortable wear and has over all look of the internet Idol more. She's petite, with short very light brown hair. Wear short and crocs and baseball cap.

Backstory:

She feel responsible for the dead of the hundreds in one catastrophic event that she could have prevent with her power but instead using it to save only her girlfriend who later died anyway. Since then she couldn't careless about what she should use her power for and just joinging Defense out of whim but end up moving through rank rather quick and earning a reputation for the thing she had done including previous catastropihic event.

Ability (Vis): Telekinesis Trace back/Telekinesis Rewind; A special kind of Limited Telekenisis where instead of moving object anywhere with her mind, she can only move the objest to where it has previously been or its previous state. For example, broken cup, she can put it back together and fling it up back on the table. This give her the illusion of rewinding time without actually messing with time.

Ability (Vodiem): Gravity centerpoint; only applying to herself, she can change the gravitation point that affecting her. Enable her to walk on walls or fling herself up and down.

Ability Triggers:

Vis: Shift blood pressure in her head, like when you make your ear make thunder noise. Using hand to point at object increase the chance of triggering the ability.

Vodiem: flexing her feet.

Skill Set:

- Very good handle and creativity in using her powers.

- Breakdance and Parkour

-Huming and whistling

Extra:

- Despite being in Defense, she isn't at all good at physical or even range weapon fighting. Has low strength and stamina. she rely solely on her power but it's so good that she has this rank.

- Because she so not look like the part, a lot of people wouldn't recognize her as the elite member but also since she's so standing out, if they recognize her they'd imediatally know who she is and her reputation.

- Her telekinesis trace back can be apply to healing because she can rewind it all back but she can't bring someone back to life. If they have falling to their death, she can pull the body back up and put it back together but they'd still stay dead.

Name: Xiaolian

Appearance:

153 cm (5’05) in height. He is always seen with his hood.ie, either worn normally or tied around his waist.

Backstory:

Xiaolian was recently brought into Archetype HQ while on the brink of death. Report stated that he had ingested a deadly poison, though why it happened is unclear. He survived the ordeal only because his Vodiem luckily activated. It cleansed enough of the toxin to mitigate the damage and buy him time to get proper treatment. The Vodiem also activated regularly during his recovery, expediting the process into two weeks.

While the boy recuperated, it was found that Xiaolian was an orphan who served a minor mob. He was often dumped with all sorts of errands on top of working as a bartender/entertainer in their small pub just at the outskirts of Toza Plaza. Regular patrons seemed wary of him despite no known scene ever happening in the establishment. They claimed that if the boy served you with abundant generosity, then something awful would happen to you. They were never sure of what it is, but they noted that those who received the treatment would afterwards avoid the area like a plague. Whatever happened, none of them dare tell a soul. Regardless, Xiaolian maintained a good relation with the regulars, seemingly oblivious to the hearsays surrounding him.

The person who saved Xiaolian was one such regular intrigued by the rumor. Perhaps she felt it a waste to let his potential perish just like that, thus she saved the boy and made him indebted to the Archetype. Or, she simply grew too fond of the young bartender. Either way, Xiaolian pledged his loyalty to the Archetype without any convincing. It was certainly not out of sheer thankfulness; whether it was because of the prospect of a better working condition, the fact that he was inescapably in the syndicate’s radar now, or something else, he kept that to himself.

Currently, Xiaolian is still searching for his place in the syndicate. In the meantime he continues making drinks, mainly brewing tea, coffee, or other requests for Archetype members. His proficiency in such mundane yet integral part of life has made him quite known within the organization.

Personality:

Despite his circumstances, Xiaolian maintains a positive outlook of life. He is affable and mellow, seemingly undeterred by any odd or disturbing behaviors displayed by Archetype members. Some believe he is naive, while others think he is aware of what he’s doing but maintains an innocent front. Whatever it is, he remains pleasant and hospitable to those he comes across, befitting that of his former occupation.

Ability (Vis): Psychometry - perceives memories of an object. Recent memories tend to be visualized clearer. Currently he can’t control which memories he would receive, which means each time he touches the same object, it could show him a different memory sequence.

Ability (Vodiem): Curing - restores a body to normal condition by removing any contaminants and diseases. However, it takes some time to fully cure the body, mostly because it depends on how potent the Vodiem is when activated. Furthermore, it can't heal wounds or damage caused by the contaminant and/or disease. Currently unknown whether it can affect other people or is limited to hismself.

Ability Trigger: 

  • Psychometry: Direct contact with an object.
  • Curing: Unknown. Seems to activate more reliably the worse his body gets.

Skill set: 

  • Highly skilled at making all sorts of drinks, be it by mixing, brewing, or other methods. 
  • Adept at playing the guzheng. 
  • Has some degree of bargaining skills gained from restocking the pub’s ingredients.
