Enhancing items % chance

Hey!

This has been going on forever and I can't find another thread on this, so here goes:

I highly suspect that some items/upgrades/percentages are bugged. In this example, I can go up one more point in dodge, and the game is telling me there's a 50% chance of success.

I know how chance works, and I know that 50% doesn't mean 100% if I click twice, but I can just click 'yes' indefinitely and it'll always fail. That doesn't seem right at all.

I think it's displaying the wrong numbers. Some pieces of gear have a much lower success % when it comes to enhancing the stats, and that seems more accurate to me considering how many times something will fail.

I'd like to see an accurate success chance so I won't end up spending thousands of shards on something I'd rather not!

Just stopping by...

Agreed! I have found that it matters less the percentage chance - but more on how far away from the (max points you can get) you are. 50% is not actually 50% and 12% is not actually 12%.  In addition to this "bug" is the reroll ALL the stats which doesn't seem to reroll anything half the time!

I would like to see this changed - as percentages incorrectly used hurts my poor little math heart.

I have a thread about gear rerolling here! Unfortunately it's being ignored like all the other bug reports on this forum.

I'm back Mwahahahahahaha

It may be ignored... or it may just have been put at the very back of the priority list.

Either way, you get the same result!

Then I wonder what's at the front of the list and how long it's been there.

SoD wants cash

What's at the front of the list?

Eh, probably events like Thawfest, Snoggletog, Dreadfall, etc - that and new DT items.

Like others have said - I can't necessarily blame them.  I mean, that's where SoD makes the money - not on fixing bugs.  If I was them, IDK but I'd probably do the same.

It's kinda sad, but that's how things tend to work.

That's what I'm wondering.

I don't think things like new events are on a bug fix priority list, as they are not bugs to fix. And we all know that the bugs within- and caused by events haven't been touched either.

Also fixing bugs in your game would net you more money as people would be more inclined to pay for a working game rather than one that is broken. That's how things tend to work in viddy games.

I'm back Mwahahahahahaha (like always)

heh! This is getting a little off-topic, so if you want me to stop replying, let me know, and I promise to leave this post alone. XD

Agreed, what I meant was that if there existed a list of everything that SoD devs wanted to add, fix, get rid of, change, enhance, etc - the bug fixes are clearly near the bottom of that list.

True, but oftentimes, a game works just fine with even quite a few bugs.  Games tend to gravitate towards the point where fixing any more of the bugs would not bring in as much money as money lost trying to fix those bugs.  I think SoD is still in this limbo phase where they're trying to figure that out; i.e. "How much time should we put into fixing the worst bugs to maximize membership (and gem) purchases?"

(Also I loved how you said "viddy" games - I'm going to borrow that)

I don't think they're trying to figure anything out. Some bugs have been around for years and there's zero communication regarding them. I suppose I understand why, as people keep buying gems and memberships regardless of the game's quality (bby must consoom!) so why even fix anything if it doesn't affect the bottom line?

At this point it'd be better if they just removed broken mechanics entirely, like they did with bullseye lagoon. Just remove gear enhancing and rerolling in general. Neither work as intended.
