Encanto anybody?
Who here has seen the 60th theatrical animated Disney film, Encanto? Saw it quite a few times already, the first film I saw when coming back to the movie theaters after so long with not going to one.
Favorite song so far: We Don't Talk About Bruno. Like how in the middle of the song a lot of the characters sing their verses at once after doing them one at a time.
We don't talk about Bruno. No, no. No no no.
We don't talk about Brunooo....
BUT!!
I've actually never seen it in theaters nor any streaming services (can't go to theaters, doesn't use any streaming services) but from youtube clips, it looks super fun and the songs really are darn catchy. I got an ear worm from them, and I find myself dancing the cha cha xD
Do we need to put spoiler warnings in this thread btw? If one would discuss about the movie?
I did not see it, unfortunately :-)
I love it. Come from a big family with hispanic background so it indeed felt like familia <3
I saw it in the cinema and it was good
It kind of represents my huge family too :D
But spiderman no way home was the best
Anyone here who has watched it?
Pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, woaaaaaah~
Pressure that'll tip, tip, tip 'til you just go pop! Woaaaaaaah~
Ooh, yes! I saw Encanto in the theater with my best friend. I really enjoyed it! Characters are well done and the music is great! I especially like the character Bruno. Also, Antonio is so cute! I wish I had his ability to speak with animals! I love Mirabel's relationship with him.
YESS I LOVE IT SO MUCHH
its really well thought out and there house looks SO nicee i love antonio hes so cute
its so cool how they each have their own rooms matching their powers and how its like a seperate realm
Animation-wise, this movie is INCREDIBLE. I saw this movie from someone else's Disney+ account, and was absolutely mesmerized by how incredible the animation looks; the specks of dust on the rooms, the lightning, the movement the characters did as if they were real people... so incredible, honestly! The plot and characters were great too. I personally love Mirabel! She's such a relatable character, and I'm glad Disney is sticking to the 'relatable heroine' trope.
Unpopular opinion though? Besides 'The Family Madrigal' and 'We Don't Talk About Bruno', I felt like the songs in this movie weren't that good. Like, I feel that the music producers could've gone with more genuine cumbia songs to make Encanto much more lively. I personally didn't like Luisa's or Isabella's songs; Colombia has so many incredible beats and rhythms I feel they should've added to the movie. Like, I get the songs had to be more Americanized because of the target audience, but I mean- cumbias, man. It gets your soul soaring.
Edit: Vallenatos too. I don't know why I'd forgotten about them, but oof-
I was a bit underwhelmed on the first listen too. Excepting Bruno, Madrigal and Pressure, the songs seemed to be missing that Disney magic. It's the lyrics that make them good imo. And they are subtle, so each one took a while to grow on me.
I agree about the animation though. The characters have PORES. That might be a first for a Disney movie.
*COUGH* I'm a little bit obsessed. I think we can all agree that Bruno is the best song (isn't it like the number 1 at the moment or something? O.O). I listen to that song every day and know all the lyrics
Seven foot frameeeeee
Ratssss along his backkkk
*fades off into the distance*
I knowwww!!!
As a non Frozen fan (I'm sorry pls don't come after me XD) I'm living for it lol
Good thing I didn't say any spoilers for the story then when posting. So... no Spoilers here for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Getting my blu ray and digital copy this week, by the way. Feb. 8 for physical release to complete my collection. Already have all 59 of them from Snow White to Raya and the Last Dragon.
