Habitat: Forests and plains, nowhere with extremely loose soil or sand, but also not the other extreme, areas with very compacted soil or rocky areas.

Overview:

The Echoing Tremorseeker is an intelligent, predatory dragon which gets its name from its two most significant abilities; echolocation, and the ability to perceive vibrations in the ground.

Tremorseekers mainly hunt sheep, goats and boar, but have been known to eat small dragons on occasion, and will eat fish as well. The dragons hunt their prey first of all by flying into the air and using echolocation, which is aided by the prominent bone crest which runs along the top of their heads. This crest functions by conducting the sound vibrations toward the dragon’s inner ear, and enables the Tremorseeker to accurately gauge the location of a target from between eight and sixteen kilometres(five to ten miles) away, as well as gaudge the distance between the dragon and its quarry.

After the Tremorseeker has judged itself close enough to its prey, it flies down to the ground, and buries the ridge along its lower jaw into the dirt. This ridge is incredibly sensitive to vibrations, to the point where the Tremorseeker can feel the footsteps of a creature up to a hundred meters(approx. 328 feet) away when the ridge is buried in the ground.

Tremorseekers walk on their wings and use their forelegs as arms, but they can stand bipedally. The dragons are quite territorial, but only which each other, meaning Tremorseekers will very aggressively attempt to drive others of their species away, but let most other dragons live in their territory quite indifferently. This is because two Tremorseekers cannot use their echolocation at the same time, or all either of them will hear will be the other’s locating calls. In addition, Tremorseekers stay away from dragons that use sound as a weapon, as their powerful hearing makes them very vulnerable to sound-based attacks.

Trainability rating(1-5): 3. Tremorseekers are not particularly aggressive dragons, but they are hunters, so should be approached with caution.
