Kaia grinned, still hearing the gist of Ms Anderson's worried warning.

":Don't worry Ms Anderson. We'll be fine. We need to practice stalling anyways, right? Why not have some fun with it while we're at it? We've each done probably thousands of hours in the simulator between the two of us.:" Kaia replied, glad to have a chance to have a little fun in the air. Besides, her F-22 could handle it. Her Phantom was an old workhorse and could handle it. It was an Afghan war vet after all - her parents got it from Marine Surplus

Aight.. Guess I should jump in now..

Elijah woke long before the sun rose, spending the last few hours in the hanger going around his ship and many others. Mostly checking on the fuel, computer systems, engine, and more. His feet took him down the line of the ships until he ended up at an F-15, his name in bold letters rested just above the serial number. He sighed and went inside it, double checking it's systems and everything he checked out only a few hours before. He ended up just sitting there in a bored state of mind and stared at a wall for several long moments, more unsure of what to do as he wasn't given a mission for the day. He was hoping to be tossed into someone's team, what their mission was he didn't care too much of, would give him something to do for the day.

Well, now that we at least kinda know what we're doing...

Jason strolled to his plane.  Before he got in, we walked all around it, running a minute visual inspection.  The landing gear was good; the tires were in good condition.  He noticed the skin of his aircraft was a little scratched and slightly dented in a few places; it wasn't a new plane by any means. He looked at the control surfaces. They looked good; all were aligned properly.  He crouched slightly, checking his weapon loadout: 8 AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles (by far his favorite weapon) and a drop tank.

Satisfied with his inspection, he climbed into the cockpit, afterwards hitting the button to close it.  He attached his air hose to his G-suit, and strapped himself in.  Checking once more to be sure he was properly fastened in, he started the engines.

As they were warming up, he radioed the tower. ":Ramstein, Arcflare 1, request clearance to taxi.:"  It wasn't long before the reply came crackling over the radio:  ":Arcflare, Ramstein, cleared to taxi to Runway Zero-Niner.:" Jason radioed his acknowledgement, ":Ramstein, Arcflare 1, Roger that, beginning taxi to Runway Zero-Niner.:", gave his plane a little more throttle, unset the brakes, and extended the flaps. Slowly, the plane crept out of the hanger.

((Okay, I could go on, but I should probably stop there, since this post is starting to get a little long.))

Keren ignored Miss Anderson, and pulled the throttle. Her plane rose higher, and the speed accelerated. The seat rattled a bit, but it was an older model.

Kaia was just ahead of her partner, her plan's altometer rising well above 5,000 ft. She felt the engines protest at the speed, but it was an easy upward angle. She felt a sudden surge of...something...like something in the air up here was warning her to turn back.

":Hey Keren, you feel that?:" She asked, not sure if the other pilot felt the same thing she did as they went up

":Hey Keren, you feel that?:" She heard Kaia say. She knew what her co-pilot was asking about. A strange force pulled at her body, and she frowned. ":Yeah,:" She said. ":We should turn back.:" That bad feeling tugged harder, and she could've sworn she saw a purple-ish shimmer shine across the sky, but as soon as she blinked, it went away. How curious. In order to go back, the Bullet Banshee had to fly just a little further, and then she could reverse the thrust.

":Yeah, but we need to get a little higher first. Save the competition for another time.:" Kaia agreed, also seeing the purple shimmer in the air. She knew that was wrong. That shouldn't have been there. What even was that? She knew that htey had to go at least another thousand feet before they could reverse thrust and turn around to head back to the carrier.

Keren climbed higher, higher, higher, and just when it seemed she could reverse the thrust, her plane made a creak, and the F-15 somehow sped up, going much higher than it was supposed to. ":Kaia!:" she yelled through the radio. ":Are you seeing this?:" That's when she realised, her aircraft was being sucked in. And the thing it was being sucked into, was the now visible purple shimmer shield.

Also, MERRCHRISTMAS! I'm greatful for you guys and how you kept sticking with my over-excited actions during this role-play. :D

":Yeah, I see it! We have to k.ill the engines and get out of here, now! That thing is some sort of...black hole or something!:" Kaia agreed, already flipping control switches. Her fingers flew over the consoles as she switched from automatic flight to manual. Her instincts were telling her to bail out, but she couldn't leave her baby behind. She'd worked too hard to get the Cobalt Nebula where she was today. She wasn't going to leave her craft behind.

Keren k.illed the engines, her heart pounding on a dangerous level. Her ship was literaly getting sucked into a vortex. ":It's still sucking us in!:" She yelled into the radio. ":We need to eject!:" Her first instinct was to escape, but her plane was her only sense of life! And, she probably didn't have time. ":Hold on!:" She yelled.

Kaia swore creatively, using Gaelic and Italian before switching to star wars langauges - Mando'a to be specific since she identified with the Mandalorians.

":Er osi'kyr! Osi'kyr! Osi'kyr Osi'kyr Osi'kyr Osi'kyr Osi'kyr!:" Kaia swore, glad she was fluent in Mando'a thanks to her Star Wars nerd friends. Basically, the word translated to "Oh s*it" in Mando. It was a good c.uss word to use when a friend got vapporized during a raid and their Avatar needed to heal. She hated the idea of leaving her plane. It was like a Mandalorian taking off her helmet around anyone other than family: it was unthinkable. But she knew they had no choice.

":We ride out the worst of it. Once we get past the air currents and down bursts, we bail out. Ugh, Mom and Dad are SO going to m.urder me when they finds out about this.:" Kaia told her wingwoman, glad that she had someone on the other end of the radio. She was also glad she checked her parachute this morning as part of her routine flight check to make sure it was up to standards. She always replaced one every few years and always kept a backup.

Keren listened to her co-pilot sw.earing in a sort of strange language. She had placed her finger on it but it had slipped away. ":Kaia!:" She yelled. ":Your plane is getting sucked in too!:" This was the end. They were gonna die. ":Ego, milbo Orch!:" She c.ursed in Sindarin. That pretty much translated to, 'Go k.iss an Orc!" and she was insulting the vortex. ":Kaia, hold on!:" She yelled noting to herself that her newfound friend was probably readying her parachute. ":The vortex is going to suck us in! You won't have time and you will get hurt!:" Two pilots weren't going t d.ie on the same day. And then that's when the shimmer shield pulled her plane closer to its gaping mouth, nothing but swirling darkness inside.

Keren stared in horror, frozen in a chilling fear, as the hole gave a last pull, and sucked her inside. Thinking she was dead, Keren blacked out. On the other side, the portal seemed to have gained strength, and began to pull stronger on the F-22.

(Hey guys? What happened to "wait for our turn"?  You two have been going back and forth nonstop. I think you should probably hold up for a bit, while Dyliah and I kinda... get caught up?  You two are practically in Ivizidum already, and Dyliah and I have yet to get off the ground.  Just my opinion, but maybe think about it?)

Oi... Sorry if I'm holding it up...

The other plane pulling out of the hanger caught Elijah's attention, having not noticed anyone enter the hanger to begin with. Staring at his radio as he tuned into the other guy's channel and listened to him talk to the tower. Sighing and humming before contacting the other pilot, asking if they wanted company.

(Just so you know, "my channel" is that used by all NATO craft.)

As Jason carefully ruddered his plane around the last turn in the taxiway, he was surprised to hear his radio crackle to life again. After the ":Over.:", he radioed back, ":E. Dec, Arcflare 1, ask Head Control, but make it snappy! I gotta get in the air. Over.:"

Coming to the end of the taxiway and the start of Runway 09, Jason set his brakes and moved his throttle to the Idle position, and began running through the pre-takeoff checklist, as all pilots were trained to do.  He checked the gauges; all were good.  He pulled up the damages list on the center MFD; all systems were go. He then selected his stores readout, and ensured everything was reading properly.

Satisfied, he set the center MFD's mode once more, this time to the Nav log.  He engaged the left MFD in LRS radar mode, and the right display in tactical mode.  Finally, he radioed the tower again. ":Ramstein, Arcflare 1, requesting clearance for takeoff, Runway Zero-Niner.:"

Ay

Elijah sighed as he reached out to the Tower, getting a confirmation and setting up his plane for flight, slowly exiting the hanger shortly after. He called the Tower one more time to alert them where he wanted to take off, getting another confirmation to go he finished up with the checks and began making his way towards the runway. Also letting know Jason of his position.

It wasn't long before the tower replied to Jason's request.  ":Arcflare 1, Ramstein, you are clear for takeoff.  Circle until Arcflare 2 forms up on you. Over.:"

":Ramstein, Arcflare 1, copy that,:" he radioed back. ":Over and out.:"

Jason settled back in his seat, quickly mentally checking everything one more time.  Now, he thought happily, time for one of my favorite parts.  He released the brakes, and pushed the throttle all the way forward.  The whine of the twin engines increased in pitch, until with a roar as much felt as heard, the afterburners kicked in, pushing Jason back in his seat as they pushed his plane forward.  Slowly at first, then rapidly becoming faster, the F-15 moved down the runway.  At 250 knots, Jason gently pulled back on the stick, simultaneously moving the flaps control to the retracted position.  As the nose of the jet pointed skyward, and the plane cleared the ground, Jason retracted the landing gear.

After he had climbed to 1,500 Feet AGL ((Above Ground Level)), he settled his plane into a leisurely circle above the airfield, awaiting the takeoff of E. Dec, the newly-christened Arcflare 2.

O_O I thought I replied.... Sorry...

Elijah briefly watched as Jason took off, slowly beginning to circle the area while he waited on him. Quickly double checking everything as he got his plane into position to take off, waiting on the confirmation to go. The crackling radio alerted him freedom, and he began to move, pulling his plane into the air and catch up to Jason.

After Arcflare 2 maneuvered into formation on his tail,  Jason set his heading to 120 and leveled out, engaging the autopilot in Level mode.  He disengaged the afterburners to save on fuel, but continued to gain speed until he was flying at Mach 1.5.

Settling back in his seat, he looked around at the view.  He knew it would be about three quarters of an hour until he reached Waypoint 1, and the KC-135 tanker awaiting him --no, them, he corrected himself-- there.  After enjoying the fog playing around him and the rapidly passing terrain below for a while, he radioed his wingman.  ":Arcflare 2, Arcflare 2, this is Arcflare 1, over.:" He waited for a response.

Receiving Dec's response, Jason asked, ":Arcflare 2, how are you?  I'm just a little bored at the moment. Over.:"

While waiting for Dec to reply, he switched the autopilot to Nav mode and began searching his radar for the tanker that he knew he would be approaching soon.

":Arcflare 2, wait, you didn't get the briefing?:" Jason rolled his eyes and sighed into the radio. ":Okay, so first we need to rendezvous with the tanker at Waypoint 1, since we've used a lot of fuel getting here.:" He paused briefly, checking his stores readout for the amount of fuel left, then, after checking his radar display for the tanker, continued, ":We then fly to Waypoint 2 over the Black Sea and set up our first Combat Air Patrol.  Once we start to run low on fuel again, we fly to Waypoint 3, refuel from the tanker there, and fly to Waypoint 4, further out and higher up over the Black Sea.  After we again begin to run low on fuel from flying CAP there, we rendezvous with another tanker at Waypoint 5, refuel, and head to Waypoint 6, fly CAP there until we run low on fuel, refuel again at Waypoint 7, then fly to and land at Aviano, which is Waypoint 8.  You got all that? It should be programmed into your jet. Over.:"

Jason's radar suddenly picked up on something, and he locked onto it. ":Arcflare 1, contact 120 for 40.:" he transmitted.

According to the IFF interrogator in his craft, it was a friendly. That would probably be the tanker, he mused to himself.  Turning back to his radio, he said, "Arcflare 2, Arcflare 1, I think I have the tanker on my radar.  Prepare for refuel.:"

He reduced his throttle and began his approach.

((TIMESKIP; Refueling is boring if the pilots are competent.))

After they had finished their first refueling, they headed out over the Black Sea toward Waypoint 2.

":Arcflare 2, Arcflare 1, begin CAP/Strike.:" radioed Jason. ":Set radar to LRS ((Long Range Search)) mode and  circle at radius of 50 Miles.  Engage any bogey that shouldn't be there. Over.:"

He maneuvered his jet into position and began circling.

Half a fuel tank and several uneventful circles later, Jason's RWR showed a blip, indicating that another aircraft had locked onto him.  ":Arcflare 1, Spike 040:" he radioed, wondering what was afoot.

":Arcflare 2, Arcflare 1, let's pull up and see if we can lock on... whatever has me on its scopes."  His puzzlement was evident in his tone.  ":I hope we're not up against some new stealth fighter/interceptor. Over.:"

Jason ended his transmission, pushing his trottles forward to full.  The afterburners kicked in with the ever-thrilling deep, rushing roar and burst of speed and power.  Jason pulled back on his stick and began climbing, watching the altimeter to be sure he didn't exceed the service ceiling of his plane.

At 60,000 feet he leveled off, leaving himself 5,000 feet to the top of the operating range.  Glancing at his RWR display, he saw that he was still being tracked from somewhere in front of him, although his radar still showed nothing.  He shook his head; he didn't like this, not one little bit.

(This is going to be long, but I gave my word. Ivizidum ahoy!)

Jason continued gaining forward speed, keeping a careful eye on his remaining fuel; afterburners used a lot.  After a few minutes, his radar finally picked up something on the very edge of its range.  He managed to lock onto it just long enough to radio ":Arcflare 1, contact 020.:", then it was gone again.

He was just going to radio his wingman to ask if he had had any better success, when an alarm shrilled in his cockpit. Warning lights flashed on, and a computerized voice through his headset intoned "Missile launch! Missile launch!"  Quickly glancing at his RWR, he confirmed that it could only have come from whatever they were pursuing.  Hitting the transmit button, he radioed ":Arcflare! Break! Missiles! On the nose!:"

He then set about trying to visually acquire the incoming rocket, looking for any traces of a smoke trail or some other indicator.  Finding none, he began to feel the deep-set stirrings of dread.  Mentally, he slapped himself. He had been trained for this!  He wasn't going to let some... invisible, undetectable death-rocket get the best of him!  He quickly flipped his radar to standby, dropped his throttle, and hit the switch to engage his ECM.  The feeling of dread did not lessen.

Checking his RWR again, Jason saw that the missile somehow still had a lock on him.  He shook his head, and began executing evasive maneuvers, looping, rolling, climbing, diving.  The missile came on.  He flicked his ECM off and on again, dropped chaff, and continued to maneuver, but still the missile continued to close in. He realized with a flash of despair that his ECM was malfunctioning.  He fought to suppress the panic he felt rising inside of him, but the sudden shrilling of a second alarm made it that much harder. The missile was within 20 miles of his plane.

As a last-ditch effort, Jason decided to try pulling straight up. He rammed the throttle forward, and the afterburners kicked in once more. He continued to drop chaff to try and disrupt whatever kind of radar the missile used as he pulled back on his stick, almost blacking out from the G-force as his jet went vertical.  He was out of chaff, and he was out of ideas.  All that remained was to hope and pray.

Suddenly, it seemed the world exploded around him.  He felt the F-15 buck and jerk. One of his displays went dark.  He felt a flash of intense heat.  There was fire all around his plane.

When he opened his eyes, he was minorly surprised to find himself still in the cockpit, a fair portion of the controls still functional.  Shaking his head to help clear his brain and taking a shaky breath, he pushed the stick forward to pull out of the climb he was maintaining, while pulling up a damages readout on the one still-functional MFD.

The plane kicked and swerved wildly, and Jason groaned when he saw that the hydraulics system was listed as no-go. The jet continued to climb. The autopilot, afterburners, left engine, ECM, and weapons system, too, were listed as non-operational.  He was extremely grateful to see that the radio transceiver appeared to still be functional.

":Arcflare 2, Arcflare 2, this is Arcflare 1, over.:"  Upon recieveing a response, he radioed ":I'm going to have to bail out.  My craft is severely crippled, I've lost the hydraulics and an engine, and I'm leaking fuel.  There's no way I'm getting back in...:" He trailed off, realizing something.

He checked the damages readout again to be sure. Yes, he had lost an engine and both afterburners.  There was no way his jet should be able to continue climbing vertically, yet checking the altimeter, climbing it was, and faster than it had been earlier!

":Wait a minute! Arcflare 2, something's going on!  I'm not sure how, but my plane's still climbing, and faster than before!:" Jason broke off, hearing and feeling the engines quit.  ":I've just broken the service ceiling, my engines quit, but I'm still climbing! Over!:" he cried anxiously.

((Okay, sorry about the ridiculous length of this post, but I gave my word that within my next two posts, I'd be on my way to Ivizidum, so it was kinda necessary.  Hope no one minds too much.  Hey Dylieh, when you make your post, would you please interweave the events in it with this one's, instead of just continuing from the end?  I think that would be better.  Anyway, thanks, and sorry again.))

I'm not actually role-playing rn

Hello! I'm just going to be introducing characters we're gonna meet right now so that no one accidentally posts a different description of a character :)

Queen Katren

She is the queen that takes you as her prisoner as you find yourself with a broken plane in the Western Kingdom. Her hair is put in a tight, uncomfortable looking bun that is the colour of morning rays. A single red tattoo under her left eye bears the rune of the West, and I'll be making the rune set soon enough. She's around average height, and wears a circlet of topaz on her head. Katren has been living for 6,345 years, believe it or not. Her husband was killed by changelings in the Great War, and son, stillborn just after she recieved news that her husband died on the battlefield. Queen Katren is light skinned, brown eyed, and rules with an iron fist, but inside, she is very nice.

The leader assassin, Ceraan

Ceraan is.  .  . difficult to figure out. His age is 5,190 but looks 33. That isn't the difficult thing ,though. It's his personality. If you saw him without meeting him, a shiver would run down your spine. He looks very cold and serious, and he is, if he hasn't known you for 5,000 years. If you do happen to know him since that long ago, you'd know he's very protective of his friends, and is also very, very sweet.

Appearance: (Yes I'm organizing this) Okay! Ah, if anyone knows Lotor from Voltron (Yes I am obsessed with him and wish he was alive so that Lotura would become a thing) his hairstyle is exactly like that (hahhhhh) but a little less slicked back and gray (All Hornwing elves have gray hair) but can sometimes be put up in a braid (yes I did). He has a mesomorph body type, so lean and muscular at the same time. Ceraan is also very flexible. Of course, dragon horns stand atop his head.

Skin colour: Like all other elves in the Hornwing kingdom, periwinkle. A little darker than periwinkle, actually.

Height: 187.96 centimeters

Weapons: Silver longbow and long, deadly daggers.

Markings: Three dark, dark purple fishtail markings on his arms that glow in the dark, and sharp tipped markings going from his jawline, to his cheek. (Almost all Hornwing elves are born with markings, but as they grow older, those markings can shift shape and design.

Eye colour: Darrrrkkkkkkk and I mean DARK green eyes.

The assassin, Lilith

Lilith is very spunky, and can be a bit rude. She means well, though. Her age is 3,243 looking like 26. (All elves in all kingdoms age differently, I know it's confusing.)

Appearance: Long light gray hair adorned with little beads. Also the horns.

Skin colour: periwinkle

Height:170.18 cm

Weapons: a white spear with a purple gem embedded on its shaft.

Markings: White dots that are peppered along the bridge of her nose.

Eye colour: Amber

The assassin, Cersei

Cersei is the sly, cunning, manipulative assassin who is able to confuse the mind in a flash. She uses illusions for a quick escape, or an easy distraction. Cersei is probably the first most energetic and second most nice out of her group, but watch out! If you cross her, you'll most likely be added to her tattoo list of who to kill next. Her age is 3,100 looking like 24.

Appearance: Cersei's pixie haicut complete with a fringe, is a darker gray compared to the rest on her team. Cersei loves her horns very much....

Skin colour: You know already

Height: 167.64 cm

Weapons: Her illusions and a throwing dagger with red leather wrapped aound the handle.

Markings: None (If an elf doesn't have markings, that means they will manifest a power, or have manifested a power.)

Eye colour: A creepy milky white. (Not dead milky white!)

The assassin, Hamish

Hamish is the quiet, secluded one that knows more about plants than anyone else. He's also a very good fighter. Once you get to know him, he's quite a chatterbox! His age is 4,000 looking like 28. Hamish has no markings, meaning he has powers! Those powers are limited teleportation.

Appearance: Hamish is muscular and tall, sometimes he doesn't even know what his real strength is! Hamish's hairstyle is a mullet. (Just like Keith! Hahhh....) Hamish doesn't love his horns, but there's nothing he can do about that now that they're full grown.

Height: Six feet

Weapons: A sword made out of the lightest steel.

Markings: None

Eye colour: Light blue

THE LAST ASSASSIN I PROMISE

The assassin, Iverdan

Iverdan is always upbeat, and most likely the sweetest. He's pretty close with Lilith as they were friends since forever.

Appearance: His short hair's hairstyle is always changing. Although, it's usually between a mohawk, or dreaklocks. Iverdan is probably the least experienced with fighting, and his age is 3,981.

Height:175.26 cm

Weapons: Silver nunchakus (Nunchucks)

Markings: Dark gray dots under his eyes

Eye colour: Navy

The healers, (In the camp) Sadnara and Prozlaz

Sadnara specializes in wounds, while Prozlaz specializes in illnesses. Prozlaz is about 4,000 years younger than Sadnara, but is very knowledgeable in what he does. Sadnara is 10,000 years old, but looks 50. Hornwing elves can choose how old they want to look when their looks stop, and Sadnara decided to "age" until she looke 50. Both of them are full of wisdom and sarcasm, and will happily treat any of your issues, for a small fee of 70 obsidian coins.

Appearances: Sadnara fashions two long braids, and wrinkles in the corners of her eyes from smiling so much. She looks unhealthily thin, but is actually very strong. Prozlaz is not as thin, but a little stronger than Sadnara. He wears his hair up in a bun, sometimes mistaken for a girl by accident. It's advised you don't make that mistake......Prozlaz also loves his tortoise shell glasses, even though he doesn't need them. AND THEY HAVE HORNS AS WELL.

Heights: Sadnara: 162.56 cm; Prozlaz: 6 feet

No markings on either of them as they have the ability to shift light in any form.

Eye colours: Sadnara: Violet; Prozlaz: Brown.

Of course there are the other elves but I'm not putting them on just yet.

So little knowledge here... sorry trying my best...

":Arcflare! Break! Missiles! On the nose!:" The radio shouted, knitting Elijah's eyebrows together before doing the necessary maneuvers needed to get out of the way. Staring at his radar with a sigh before trying to fix it, still keeping an eye out for his comrade and other aircrafts. Rebooting it to see a couple blips not too far behind him, making a large circle around to see what they are. Turning on his ECM for precaution as he neared. Sure enough finding the two pilots who shoot at them, climbing up the altitude they flew on.

'Smaller planes... Should be fun...' he thought to himself, taking notice of Jason climbing up to avoid the rocket tailing him. Focusing back on the two planes in front of him and lining up a shoot, letting it loose moments later. Watching it race towards the lead plane and scattering the splitting the two, the lead flying away from the trailing rocket and the second racing to the clouds. Elijah's radio began to static with Jason's voice cutting through, quickly replying back while still keeping an eye out for the second plane. His radar showing a few blinking dots of life every so often.

":I'm going to have to bail out...-" Jason continued to explain the damages done, though began to trail off his sentence, confusing the white haired male as he glanced up in the sky where he saw the Jason last. His cockpit screaming with alarms, earning a curse from Elijah as he sped off, doing a few maneuvers to try and shake the smaller plane's rocket. Deciding to slow down ever so slightly, then eased into a large barrel roll and set of flares to get the rocket off him. Jason's voice carried on with a minorly shocked tone as he explained the situation, earning a confused glance from Elijah, sure enough he was still climbing. As confused as he was, he wasn't able to get a reponse in before having to shake off the plane showing on his radar. Deciding to follow Jason's action in climbing, assuming the smaller plane behind him would stall before he would.

Keren Endas

Keren finally woke up feeling fuzzy and bruised. The last thing she remembered was.   .   .being sucked into a wormhole? Was that really possible? She opened her eyes a peep, only to shut them again once seeing a blinding flash of light. "Ugh," she groaned, her throat parched, "What the?" Keren forced herself to rip her eyelids open, and saw a bedazzling sight. Trees of green and purple leaves swayed in a gentle breeze, and the breathtaking landscape of a shimmering turquoise hue shimmered brightly in the sun. Shadowing the sea, towered a mountain range located not too far away.

"Is this.  .  .still Earth?" Keren choked. Just then, a lion passed by. Not any ordinary lion, though. Its fur was red, bearing strange white swirly markings, and aside from that, a gnarled ivory horn stuck up on its head. "Oh flip. This is 100 percent, not Earth. But if it's not Earth.  .  .where am I? Oh no, Kaia! Flip my situation. The plane's busted, and I'll have to check for exterior damages." Keren unbuckled the safety straps, and managed to clamber out of Bulet Banshee.

After inspecting her aircraft, the pilot buried her face in her hands. The F-15 was so banged up, it would be impossible to fly ever again. A single stream of smoke billowed up from the nose of the plane, and the wings looked like pieces of crumpled paper. "Banshee," Keren said, giving a salute, "You were the best girl I ever had. May the Gods' be with your spirit." Well now that her only way out of here was completely out of the question, her best bet was to find Kaia. She was sucked into the wormhole too, maybe she could find her. . .

Kaia groaned, sitting up in her damaged cockpit. Her head was ringing as she popped the hood, taking off her very denteed helmet. Now she knew how Luke felt when he crashed on Dagobah. Or when Finn and Poe crashed on Jakku. She got out to inspect the damage. She groaned. She felt bad for Cobalt Nebula. The poor girl was pretty much scrap metal at this point with the crash. Kaia sighed, plonking herself down on a damaged section of wing to try to figure out her next move.

She took the time to examine her surroundings. It was clear they were no longer with the carrier group anymore. She groaned in annoyance.

"Great, just great. Fan-freaking-tastic! What's next? I end up on Dagobah or on Jakku with no way off and I have to become a scavenger to survive?!" Kaia challenged the strange trees. She swore some of them sparkled in a way that trees shouldn't sparkle. Or maybe that was just a trick of the light. She couldn't be sure if she had a concussion, but she felt fine. Probably thanks to her helmet taking the most of the damage. She put her hand on the damaged frame of Cobalt Nebula

"Sorry girl. I should've bailed when I saw that black hole thing. Then you'd still be flight worthy." She apologized to the plane, her hand going to the diamond pendant she always wore. She felt the comforting coolness of the diamond under her fingers. She needed to find Keren and get them both home. Ms Anderson was probably worried sick! She got up and went back to the cockpit, digging out the wireless radio. Thank the GODS, it survived the crash somehow. It must've been wedged up in something because she had to wriggle it free. It would need some minor repairs, but other than that, it was functioning

Jason suddenly woke up.  Wait, when had he blacked out?  He shook his head, trying to clear the mental fog and sort his thoughts.  He had been struck by a missile, then... Got stuck in a vertical climb, right.

The sudden shock of realization cleared his head somewhat.  His plane had been flying uncontrolled for the past... how long had he been out?  And where in the world was he by now?

Glancing up from his instruments, Jason was shocked again to realize that he wasn't flying.  His plane was... sitting on the ground? How?! And where?  Seeing no other course of action, he unstrapped himself and kicked at the canopy, finally breaking it open.

As he stepped out and discarded his G-suit and insulated flight vest (the temperature was quite warm, he noticed), he took a better look around him.  Where in the world was this place? Never before had he seen such vibrant greens, golds, reds, and even browns.  Well, he could focus on that later, he decided.  Right now, he should take an inventory of the damage to his plane.

Turning around, Jason groaned aloud at what he saw.  One wing was completely missing, roughly sheared off along the fuselage, and the other warped out of shape.  The landing gear (When had that extended?) was a mess, one side completely crumpled, the other bent, twisted, and broken beyond hope of repair.  The tail section of his aircraft looked like it had been through a giant garbage disposal.  All the delicate avionics were hopelessly battered.  So much for the F-15's perfect zero-combat-loss count, Jason thought ruefully.  He could only thank God that he was still alive.

He sighed, then decided to see if his radio had, by some miracle, escaped damage enough to be fuctional.  As he made the short walk back to his cockpit, he received both his third huge shock within five minutes and the answer to his most pressing question.

Just as he was about to climb back up, a strange cry drew his attention upwards.  A shadow fell across himself and his plane, and Jason nearly fell backwards himself.  A gargantuan, scale-clad creature swooped low over the nearby trees and flew diectly over his head, trumpeting its call again.  Jason felt the downwash from the powerful, bat-like wings.  Utterly awed, he stared after the creature until was out of sight.  Dimly, he realized he was no longer in the world.  All he could do was breathe but one word: "Dragons..."

Elijah Dec

Elijah's plane told him the follower had a change of plans, racing off in another direction from the climbing F-15, either stalled or the angry purple clouds forming above scared it off. Elijah shook his head briefly before giving the sight another glance hoping his thoughts were deceiving him, but sure enough the odd coloured clouds formed quickly above him. The systems began to roar with noise and warnings, everything becoming completely unreadable as the clouds engulfed his plane. The turbulence that followed made it hard to process everything, making Elijah almost scared to reach for anything, with a possibility of reaching something he wasn't suppose to. The colours began to warm in hue, a nicer golden yellow with a hint of red taking the purples place, but did nothing to ease the pilot's worry, who was still trying to pull the plane back towards the ground. Of course, with little success. A string of curses shot out of Elijah's mouth with anger, shutting down everything to try and let gravity take control, though confusion took the place of anger as the plane continued to climb, as if the angry coloured clouds were pulling his plane up.

The confusion faded in and out as with his consciousness, nearly blacking out as the flaming colours came to an end with the clouds. The new sight revealing a land of odd shimmering colours, and large mountain ranges in the distance, the beaches appeared to glow gold as the late morning sun rays bounced off it. A calming last sight to Elijah as his eyes landed on the deep blue water ahead of him, a moment of tiredness caught him, lulling him to sleep.

'Wait... Water....' "Oh Shi-" He yelled, shaking his head clear before turning his aircraft back on and try to pull up, earning questionable sounds from his plane as it's nose tilted up but never ascend. Only slowing his fall and moving ever so slightly towards the land.

'Not the water, not the water, not the water' he repeated in his head, nearing the ground and bouncing off the water to bury slightly in the sand. The plane shutting down shortly after it's harsh landing, earning several painful groans from Elijah as he exited the cockpit. A bunch of sand seeping in as he rushed out on top of it, his plane becoming partially buried under the new mountain of sand. But did create a nice path way to the dented wing of the plane, letting Elijah get off of the sand with little resistance. He took a few deep breaths, taking off a few layers of clothing as he sat on his wing with a tired sigh. His surroundings were oddly coloured trees he'd never think existed, the sounds that slowly rose from the thick forrestry were things he never heard before, and the smell that blew by with the wind changed from natural sweet scents, to normal forestry, to things he wished he never breathed in.

"Alright... Next time Robby says 'Let's chill tonight'... You say no" He scolded himself, remembering the extremely late night of dizziness and distorted lights he and his friend had. Giving him barely a few hours of sleep, which determined his next move. Flopping down on his back and passing out on the wing of the plane, the warmth of the area acting as a blanket and the mound of sand shielding him from the sun. He figured his tired mind was playing tricks on him, turning his surroundings into settings from fairy tale books. A short nap couldn't hurt... Right?

Kaia Ushari

Kaia looked up as she heard a roar that she'd only ever heard in movies. That of a dragon. Multiple dragons actually. She gazed up in awe as a whole werle of them flew overhead. They ranged in color from the typical cartoony greenish colors you'd expect, to deep hues of gold and silver among the bright rainbows of color, like something out of Wings of Fire! She wondered if she somehow ended up in Pyrriah or in Pantala somehow. That would explain a few things. One dragon seemed curious about the wreckage and dove to investigate, leaving the flock behind. It landed with a thud, not far from the crash.

Kaia yelped, scrambling back and reaching for her gun. The dragon saw her movement and Kaia saw that it had markings similar to those of a calico cat, like her own little fuzzball back home, Mochi, named for the cat from Big Hero 6.

"Do you really think that silly little thing will be effective? To be honest, I've never seen that sort of weapon, but I assume that's what you're going for. Honestly, you humans always go for your weapons first when we want to do anything interesting." The dragon scoffed, the voice sounding like a female version of Draco from the Dragonheart movie. Kaia gaped in shock, the dragon raising an eye ridge as she ran a claw through her mane of black fur.

"Sorry, I'm not from around here. We don't exactly have dragons where I'm from." Kaia apologized, earning herself an eye roll.

"I figured as much. Name's Lena. I'm from the Igneous Clan. You got a name there human? Or do I have to make one up for you?" The dragon replied, earning a laugh from Kaia.

"Name's Kaia, Kaia Ushari. I'm a test pilot for the US Air Force. That crashed wreck back there?" Kaia jerked a thumb over at Cobalt Nebula's poor wrecked frame. "Was my ship, the Cobalt Nebula." Kaia told the dragon, the beast going over to investigate. As she passed, Kaia realized how big she was - at least the size of an elephant at minimum. 2,000 pounds or more. Not a fully grown adult most likely. Probably the dragon equivalent of her age.

"Interesting sort of craft, I've never seen anything like it." Lena commented, glancing at Kaia. "What is it anyways?"

"It's called an F-22 Phantom aircraft. One of the best. Or she was before the crash." Kaia replied, then realized something.

"Maybe you can help me. I was with my wingman, a girl named Keren. Do you think you can help me find her?" Kaia asked, earning a nod from the dragon.

"I remember seeing a similar craft not far from here. I know these woods pretty well, so I'm sure we can find it even from the ground." Lena replied, earning a sigh of relief from the girl.

Keren sighed. Wonderful, she was stuck in a forest, had no rations, and even though she wasn't trying to be vain, there was obviously no wi-fi so she couldn't use her phone. If she ever got back to Earth, listening to orders would be her top priority. Ms. Anderson was probably worried sick! "I should get a move on," she muttered, "Whenever I watched Bear Grylls, Man Vrs. Wild, he always said to look for water, or signs of civilization." Keren hopped off the log she was sitin on, and began to rumage through the wreckage of Bullet Banshee, trying to find something that could help her in the forboding land. "It might not be so bad?" she told herself, "But one can never be sure." After ten minutes, Keren had grabbed her phone from the side compartment, a black jacket, her good luck dream catcher, a balled up canvas bag, and a Swiss Army knife. She absolutely hated the idea of leaving her plane behind, but the past was the past, this was the present, and soon, she'd have to face the future.

With all her things in the bag, Keren began to bid the Bullet Banshee a fond farewell, and journey into the unknown. Judging by the climate, it was quite similar to Earth. Although, the animals, tree colours, foliage, and plants were slightly different. About an hour of walking passed, and each chitter or bird call made her feel jittery. "Good Odin, Zeus, whatever, how they living h.eck did I get here?" she asked herself, "I do not understand how getting sucked into a wormhole is logical." She continued to walk down a steep, grassy hill scattered with strange looking pink flowers. At the very bottom stood a lone tree, which Keren help but think that it's placement was more than awkward. She shrugged the feeling off, and started to climb it. When she reached the top, Keren could see miles away! Including a domain of some sorts. It was very small, but it was something! "Oh thank the Gods'!" she cried and began to advance.

Some time later, Jason shook himself back to the present.  Whatever his location, he needed to take stock of his situation, his assets and liabilities.  Upon getting back into the cockpit of his plane he found, to no surprise, that his radio was non-operational.  He was very glad that he had anticipated being in the plane all day, and so had packed rations enough for two to four satisfactory meals.  He grabbed his canteen, rations, and the survival kit kept for bail-out situations, then, folding up his flight vest and fastening the bulky bundle to his belt, climbed out of his jet for probably the last time.

His feet on the ground once more, Jason looked around, scanning the terrain, wondering where he should go.  He saw he had ended up in some fairly large forest clearing. The long grass (Was it grass?) which covered the roughly oval-shaped area, he noticed, was unusually broad, and was not green only; when the wind (unusually sweet-scented and fresh, and very invigorating) blew over it, it appeared to flash with a purple-red, and somehow simultaneously gold, color.  Looking beyond the trees, he could see multiple mountain chains, forboding, dangerous-looking, and yet oddly inviting.

Almost unconsciously, Jason's eye and thoughts were drawn to the direction the dragon had disappeared in.  The ground began sloping downward that way, and Jason had done enough wilderness hiking in his off time to know that that was usually a good indicator that there was a river not too far away, and he did need to find a source of water...  Or maybe, he admitted to himself, he just wanted to see the dragon again.  Either way, checking over his supplies once more to be sure he had everything, Jason set off.  He truly did enjoy wilderness hiking.

Elijah Dec

Odd noises of creaking metal stirred Elijah awake, the sun stinging his eyes as he looked towards the partly clouded skies. He slowly sat up and began stretching his arms when the noises started up again from the other side of the plane, tilting Elijah's head in it's direction. Quietly jumping to his feet and tip toeing over to view the cause of the sounds. He just peaked his head over when the creature in question jumped on top of the plane with a small chirp, sending Elijah to his back with shock and awe.

"That's a griffin" He spoke quickly staring at the golden brown lion with an eagle head and wings, it's yellow orange eyes snapped to him and brought itself closer to the male. It's wings began to slowly unfold, raising high above its body while its head dropped low, it's claws dug deep gashes into the metal of the aircraft with each step. Causing Elijah to back pedal away. The added weight of the griffin began to bury the plane further into the sand, the metal roaring as it curved and bent. The griffin's stalking didn't faulter at the slowly sinking plane, only enticed a screech out of it before it reared on its hind legs ready to pounce on Elijah. His heavy breathing took over his hearing and his eyes failed to blink, only focusing on the impending doom the griffin would grant. But just when he thought his soul couldn't jump any higher, a loud deep roar sounded from above to prove otherwise, startling both him and the griffin. The golden fur creature leaped off the plane and fled from the large beast now circling above, partially hidden by the suns rays. To the best of Elijah's sight, he could see a long neck and body, two enormous wings, and an equally long tail, it's warning roars became no less terrifying as they sounded off every couple of moments. He squinted his eyes to try and get a better look at the creature, but only discovered it was a dragon when it raced after the far smaller griffin. Elijah stared at the shrinking creatures as they flew away, after several long moments he finally let out the breath he didn't realize he was holding, shaking his head and resting it in his hands. A few deep breaths later he looked around his surroundings once more. He had hoped everything would be back to normal after a small nap, that the odd coloured nature and strange sounds were just that of a tired mind. But to his dismay, the nature still shimmered the odd purple, gold, and silver, and the sounds were no less normal to his ears, the griffin that was still being chased off in the distance still remained. A long confused sigh left Elijah, shaking his head once more before standing up and going through the cockpit, finding the bag with some rations and other things of necessity, then he went to fumble around with the radio in hopes it would work. Flicking it on and off just to hear nothing but static in turn, a depleting sigh left him before taking out the portable one and looking around his area.

"Maybe if I get high enough.. It would work?" He suggested, looking for a place that would fit his plans. Seeing the still chasing dragon scare the griffin into a small cave on a nearby mountain, which ensued a questionable hum from him before a defeated sigh.

"Okay... mountain of dragons it is..." He groaned, strapping the bag on and grabbing his jacket before slidding down the sand mound and walking along the water towards the mountains.

"Come on, follow me. I know of a shelter not far from here. The people that live there might be able to help." Lena told Kaia, leading the way through the trees, easily clearing a path for Kaia to follow. The dragon was kind enough to consider a human like her would have a different pace from her massive legs. She was a magnificent animal. She swore she heard the shriek of a monster in the distance - another sound she knew from DnD. She managed to catch up and walk by the dragon's side, putting a hand on her instinctively for comfort. She felt the powerful muscle under that scaly hide.

"Wasn't that a harpy?" Kaia asked, earning an inquisitive look from the dragon. But while the dragon seemed curious about Kaia knew, she just nodded confirmation.

"Typical hawk type. There are several different varieties. You can usually tell what's what from feather color if not by sound." Lena confirmed, leading her into a clear part of the forest where she could stretch her powerful wings. There was another sound, like a combination of a horse and a hawk.

"Hippogriff?" Kaia asked, earning another nod from the dragon.

"Right again." Lena replied, deciding to quiz the strange human with her. Then there was the screech of a lion and a snake. Kaia knew that one right away.

"Manticore!" Kaia realized, earning a smile of approval from the dragon.

"For someone who claims not to be from around here, you sure know your magical beasts." Lena commented, surprised the girl got it right, but pleased at the same time. At least she knew the dangers of the forest, if not from personal experience, then from stories.

"I read a lot of fantasy novels back home and play a lot of games that involve them. I'm sort of a nerd for this sort of thing." Kaia admited before spotting someone's familiar flight suit ahead of them.

"KEREN!" Kaia called, running forward to catch up with her fellow pilot. "OH THANK THE GODS! I was hoping that you made it!" She greeted, tackling her wingman in a hug.

Kaia was just relieved that her Wingman was ok. She gestured vaguely back the way she had come.

"I crashed not far from here. Poor Cobalt Nebula's nothing but scrap now. My parents are gonna murder me when we get home. But as Ms Anderson always says: Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing." Kaia replied, then remembered the calico cat colored dragon.

"I'm Lena of the Igneous Clan, I take it you two know each other?" the dragon introduced herself, still speaking English. "I was flying overhead with my flock on our way to our summer fishing area when I saw the crater from Kaia's crash. Blue happens to be one of my favorite colors. I'll be honest, I was hoping to add some of the scrap metal to my horde back home. We leave some of the elders back home who can't make the long flight from the mountains to the beach to watch over the community treasure." She admitted, glancing at the two humans.

"Hey, I doubt I could repair Cobalt anyways. You're welcome to whatever scrap you can carry." Kaia told the dragon, earning a close mouthed smile in return, probably to avoid a threat display with her teeth, in response.

"Thank you, that's very generous. I know a few blacksmiths down in the village not far from our home where they can turn it into some amazing art." Lena replied, nuzzling the girl gently with her snout in thanks.

As he walked, Jason couldn't stop thinking about that magnificent creature which had soared right over his head.  Something about that occurrance struck him as odd, but he couldn't quite figure out what.  Maybe it was just the fact that he had seen an actual, live dragon in real life (assuming, of course, that this was real life).  But no, that wasn't it.  He replayed the scene in his head again, but remained uncertain.

Jason turned his thoughts to his wingman. I wonder how he's doing?  I hope he managed to avoid detection and shoot whatever kind of stealth craft launched whatever kind of missile that was out of the sky.  The U.S. and NATO would really benefit from having that technology... Or maybe they already do. Who knows?  The military is really good at keeping secrets.  Either way-

Jason's musing was suddenly interrrupted by a loud whinny, and the sound of rapidly approaching hoofbeats.  His mind just had time to register horse? before out of the brush on his right charged... not a horse.  If Jason had had time to think, he would have noticed the long, sharp, shining horn protruding from between the equine creature's ears, and the snowy wings folded against its back and sides.  However, he was obliged to get out of the way as quickly as he could, for the creature was rapidly closing the distance, threatening to trample or impale him.

As Jason desparately scrambled forward, he expected the creature to just pass him by and continue on its way, but no such luck. Pass him it did, but then quickly turned to follow him again.  He glanced over his shoulder, and nearly screamed in terror when he say the winged unicorn bearing down on him again.  What did I do to make it so mad? Jason fleetingly wondered as he fled, dodging around and ducking under the multitudinous trees.

Keren still couldn't believe that Kaia had found her. And with a dragon?! That was insane. She wondered if any of this was real.
Neither pilots spoke to one another besides exchanging small notes about how the scenery was so beautiful or how they'd like to have a camera and take pictures of the animals and plants. Their destination looked like it was still going to be an hour or more, and each silent moment seemed to grow more and more awkward. It was so quiet, even sounds of footsteps crunching grass and branches and the beating of wings were suspiciously silent.

What was funny was that the two of them were both dodging the question that kept echoing in their minds, where were they? What would happen when they came home? Could they come home? Was Ms. Anderson fearing that they were dead?
So many questions just running, running, running on and on and on. The kingdom seemed closer now. Much, much closer. Perhaps less than fifteen minutes.

Tromp..... Tromp....... Crunch........ Snap

Suddenly the sounds of their footsteps seemed deafening. Any noise seemed a lot louder.

Finally, Keren had enough.

"Kaia?" She said. "Erm.... Are you scared? I mean, we work so hard and train so long that we should be ready for situationd like these... But sometimes we can't hold in those emotions..."

If her wingmate responded, she didn't hear her, because right in front of her eyes, was the most be dazzling thing, ever. A golden gate that had flowers twirling around it shone tall in the evening sunset light, a sort of orange and gold reflecting ray.

They had made it.
