A Dragonblood's Gift

Snoggletog. Yes, an odd name, but aren't all Viking names odd?
This year's Snoggletog was set to be the best one in generations, what with dragons now living on Berk and peace from the Red Death. People have been building snow Gronckles and knitting jumpers for Nadders, and not to mention teaching the Terrible Terrors to sing carols. With all the activity on Berk, there's all the more reason to escape it.

The clouds looked like snow beneath them. Fluffy, white and wet. The Night Fury's wingtips brushed the tops of them as he glided over, and the slim, auburn haired boy on his back trailed a hand into the sea of paleness. With a sudden movement the dragon dove down through the clouds, wings folded in tight. They angled towards a row of seastacks and wove through them, the boy deftly manoeuvring the Night Fury's fake red tail fin. Water sprayed up from the cold, crashing waves, soaking them through, but neither of them felt it. With a powerful beat of his wings the Fury shot up and soared midway between cloud level and sea level, his tongue lolling out happily.
'Think we're far enough out now, Toothless?' The boy asked, his green eyes shining with tears from the chilly wind.
    'Y s,' Toothless agreed.
Again they dove, straight down for the first few yards then levelling off at seastack height. They swooped gracefully to face two seastacks joined by a thin bridge of rock, eyes narrowed on their target. The boy unhooked his metal leg and crouched on the saddle, black wings suddenly growing from his back. The  stack neared and he sprang off, spreading his wings and gliding over the rock. He landed back on the Fury's back on the other side, hooked his leg into the mechanism that controlled the tail and they soared up again.
'It worked!' He whooped, and punched the air.
'Go again, Hiccup?' Toothless asked. He was already circling around to have another go.
Hiccup twisted in the saddle, following something with his eyes. 'No, wait,' he pointed back and up, his arm wavering as the dragon flapped around. 'What's happening up there?'
    'The migration,
' Toothless muttered. 'It happens every year. I've never gone with them.'
Hiccup stared up at the flock of dragons, multicoloured scales shining brightly in the winter sun. 'Let's see where their going.'
The boy switched the tail fin's position and they soared up to join the flock. A Nadder immediately swooped past and almost collided with them, forcing Toothless to swerve and dodge under a Nightmare. In turn the Nightmare snapped at them and caught the horn of Hiccup's helmet, knocking it from the Viking's head.
'Ohh, that was close!' The boy growled. The Night Fury dove and raced after the falling helmet, leaving the great Wearle of dragons above. 'Whoa! Bud, we'll look for it later.'
'But it might be gone forever by then,'
Toothless stated.
'I know,' Hiccup replied. 'But what's happening up there is more important.'
The Fury huffed but rose up to the migrating dragons height again. 'Hey, guys!' Hiccup called out to them. 'Could you tell us where you are all going?'
There's was nothing but a few growls and the thrum of flapping wings in a answer.
    'Anyone?' He called again.
'They won't answer,' Toothless said. 'I've tried many times.'
'Why did you never go with them?'

Toothless turned and glided towards Berk, where a worrying amount of dragons were taking to the skies to join the Wearle. 'I never felt it was right, so I never tagged along. Shift back, Hiccup.' He reminded the boy.
Hiccup quickly Shifted to his human form as they neared his home island. 'I wish I knew what I was, bud. I feel like I'm the only one like me in the world.'
'Yu  a e th  nl  ne l ke yu  n th w  ld,' Toothless reassured him.
'Thanks, bud,' Hiccup said, not entirely sure what his best friend had said.
They landed on Berk amid frenzied Vikings. As soon as he slid off of his dragon's back people converged on him, all shouting at once asking where their dragons had gone.
'I don't know,' he told them helplessly. 'I don't know.'

'That was depressing,' Ruffnut muttered dejectedly, letting her feet drag on the steps leading up to the Great Hall.
The gang had just attended a meeting in the Hall, where the Chief, Stoick the Vast, had tried to assure everyone that everything alright, the dragons would be back and that they would celebrate like they always had, they were Vikings after all. This had caused an instant uproar among the crowds gathered there. Everyone wanted to know where their dragons had gone and when they were coming back, now.
'I know right,' her brother, Tuffnut said. 'This is the worst Snoggletog ever. And what're you so happy about?'
Fishlegs stopped whistling mid tune to say unconvincingly, 'nothing!' and ran off between two houses, his helmet bouncing askew.
'What's got into him?' Snotlout asked vaguely. He was sulking along at the back of group, pretending to not miss Hookfang.
'Well,' Astrid began, prompting groans from the Twins and Snotlout. 'We can't all be miserable, it's Snoggletog! Let's start some new traditions to cheer everyone up.'
    More groans followed this statement.
    'Astrid's right,' Hiccup put in.
Resentful glares accompanied the groans this time. 'It's fine for you,' Tuff moaned. 'Toothless can't go anywhere without you.'
    'Must be nice,' Ruff added.
Hiccup looked up to the roof of his hut as the group disbanded, watching his dragon look out over the sea. He looked so sad up there, so close to the night sky yet not able to take to it, that the boy felt bad for what he'd done.
The Fury hybrid turned from his house and made his way to the silent forge. He knew that, right at the back in his workroom, there was a pattern of Toothless's tail fin. With a few tweaks he could probably make it work with his friend's single tail fin.
He cleared his workbench of all the little projects he'd started, rummaged out the yellowed diagram, and set to work.

Looks alright, Hiccup thought to himself, comparing the fake black fin to his own. It was a risk Shifting in the daylight, even if was dawn and there were not many Vikings about, he could still be seen if someone came into his workroom. Like now, for instance.
He Shifted to human form a moment before Astrid walked in carrying a tray of mugs and a jug, his heart skipping a little at the closeness of it. He picked the fin up from the ground and laid it on the table, spreading it out so the blonde Viking could see it.
'You've been busy,' Astrid commented, handing him a mug of foul smelling... Something. He looked at the mug's lumpy contents dubiously, then took a mouthful just so he didn't appear rude. 'A new tail fin?'
'Mmhm!' Hiccup found he couldn't swallow the yak milk flavoured stuff, it tasted that disgusting.
'So Toothless can fly without you?'
Astrid closed and opened the fin. 'What a great gift!'
'Hmmhm,' he was really hoping she would go away soon. He was beginning to feel sick.
'What if he doesn't come back?'
He hadn't thought of that. 'Mhh...' He said.
'What am I saying?' Astrid questioned herself. 'Of course he will!'
    'Mhm!' Hiccup agreed.
'Anyway,' Astrid said, heading to the door. 'Enjoy your yaknog!' She vanished into the dawn light and he heard her footsteps fade.
'Urgh!' He spat the yaknog into the corner of the room and fetched a mug of water from a jug in the forge. He'd never tasted something so horrible in his life, except maybe a partly digested fish spat up by a certain Night Fury.
Hiccup shook his head, as if that would clear the taste, and shut the door so no one could look in. It was dim without the extra light, but he could see perfectly fine when he Shifted to his dragon form.
He checked the fake fin one last time against his own, then Shifted back and checked the mechanism. Everything was working as it should, now it was just the task of finding Toothless and putting the new fin on him.
It was quite an easy job finding his friend. All he had to do was follow the the rhythmic thump of paws on wood. Toothless was banging on the roof of his hut, almost as if he were trying to break through. As soon as he saw his boy the dragon leapt down and greeted him with a soft huff, then inspected the fin with a puzzled look.
Hiccup led the way to the back of the hut and Shifted to hybrid form in the shadows, his back to the wall. Toothless conveniently stood in front, hiding Hiccup, and held his tail up so the hybrid could attach the fin.
'Why have you made a new one?' Toothless asked. 'I like the red one.'
'It's so you can fly on your own,
' Hiccup explained as he did up the straps and catches. 'It is not fair that all the other dragons can come and go as they please, but you can't. So, I made this. It should allow you to fly without me.'
The Night Fury shook his tail. 'But I don't want —' the fin opened as he spread his real fin, exactly as Hiccup had designed it to. He stared at it, then at Hiccup, his green eyes wide.
The boy grinned at his friend. 'How do you like it, bud?'
The dragon's answer was to shoot into the sky and away over the sea, heading in the direction that the migrating flock had flown, without even a glance back.

Three days. Three whole days and there had been no sign of Toothless, or any dragons, for that matter. Everyone was miserable without their scaled friends to celebrate Snoggletog with, including Hiccup.
He sat on the edge of a cliff, with some oars he was meant to be delivering to the docks on the ground beside him, looking out over the sea much like his Fury friend had done. He wondered if Astrid had been right when she said that Toothless might not come back. He'd thought at the time that it was impossible, but now he wasn't so sure.
With a sigh he stood, metal leg squeaking irritably, and picked up the oars. Snow had started falling in the last few minutes and the wooden plank walkways down to the docks were slippery and treacherous, making him want to Shift and glide down safely. But of course, he couldn't.
There was nothing he could do about the situation, either. He couldn't fly out and search, he couldn't follow the flock, he couldn't take a ship out because they were needed for fishing, he couldn't even ask Fishlegs about the annual migration because no one knew anything about it.
Just as he thought that the Ingerman hurried around a corner and bumped into him, causing them both to almost slip. Hiccup steadied himself with the oars and grabbed Fishlegs's arm before the blond Viking could fall. 'Sorry, Fish. I didn't see you... Why have you got all that fish? It's enough to feed a dragon.'
'Uh,' Fishlegs said, shaking Hiccup off. 'A dragon? Ha!' With a preoccupied expression he turned and trotted down the walkway and into a shed, pulling the door quickly shut behind him.
Suspicious, Hiccup followed him, hiding behind one of the pillars holding the roof of the shed up when he heard the door creak open. Fishlegs's footsteps hurried past without noticing him, then the hybrid crept out and checked if the way was clear. He leant the oars against the shed wall and slipped to the door, opening it just enough to see in. 'Meatlug?'
The Gronckle flew towards him but was jerked back by a chain around her ankle that was attached to the wall. She tugged at it viciously and a link snapped, shearing right through from the sheer strength of a boulder class dragon. Hiccup tried to dodge but wasn't quick enough. Meatlug caught him square in the chest, knocking some of the breath from him. She flew up with a determined whirring of wings, completely ignoring Fishlegs's shouts from the cliff.
'Where are you going?' Astrid yelled, having been drawn over by the commotion.
'I don't know!' Hiccup yelled back, almost too far away for them to hear now. He climbed up the dragon's leg and hauled himself onto her back, feeling like he was riding an earthquake. He looked back over his shoulder and saw Berk growing smaller by the second. 'Where are you taking me?' He shouted in Meatlug's ear.
The Gronckle didn't so much as flinch.
He glanced back again and decided he was far enough out to Shift without being spotted. He leapt off and Shifted to dragon form, gliding beside the bumblebeelike dragon as they flew up through the clouds. 'Where are we going?' Hiccup asked in Dragontongue.
All he got in reply was a grunt.
Okay... He thought. I guess I'll just follow.
He trailed Meatlug above the clouds for around two hours, regularly pestering her to speak and disclose where they were going. He either got a stony silence in reply or a disgruntled Gronckle grunt. Hiccup gave up eventually and simply watched the clouds race past, wondering where Toothless was right now.
So lost in his thoughts was he that he almost flew into a ships figurehead. Hiccup shook his head and saw they'd descended through low cloud and were only six yards above sea level, white water crashing around the few jagged rocks there were and sending up spray to splash them. He looked back and saw attached to the dragon figurehead was a broken, barnacle encrusted ship, caught up in the rocks and tilting forward at a precarious angle.
He looked ahead again and almost stopped in his tracks, so astonished was he. There in front of him were all the Berkian dragons piled onto an island. Hot springs steamed the air around them, creating a haze of mist in the cool air.
Hiccup glided down and landed on the red rock ground, looking around for familiar faces. He saw a few, mostly those of dragons he'd seen going around Berk, but none he knew well.
He Shifted to hybrid form and walked over to the nearest dragon, a Gronckle who looked similar to Meatlug. 'Hey there,' he said, watching her roll eggs into a steaming pool. 'What're you doing?'
Her answer was to nudge a hatchling Gronckle from the pool as it struggled out. Three more followed, looking like plump rocks with legs.
'You come here to raise your hatchlings!' Hiccup observed with a smile, looking around at the little dragonlings he could now see everywhere. 'You're celebrating your own kinda... Holiday.'
He clambered up a slope and lifted into the air, rising up high enough to see the whole island. He could see no black dragon in amongst the colourful hides no matter how hard he looked. Hiccup tilted his wings down and coasted the edge of the island, spotting two familiar dragons from the multitude there. He landed and greeted Stormfly and Hookfang, the former of which had baby Nadders nestled around her. 'Have either of you seen Toothless?' He asked.
Both of them said no. 'Last time I saw him was on Berk,' Stormfly told him.
'Ok,' Hiccup sighed. 'I'd better go looking for him.' He Shifted and took to the air again, riding the updrafts that rose from the warm rock. Hookfang, who seemed to be the only dragon without hatchlings, flapped up beside him. 'You don't have to come too, Hoo— ohh, no. None of you have to come!' Hiccup called to the dragons flying up behind him. 'I think I just started the home migration,' he muttered. The island was suddenly devoid of adult dragons, only dragonlings were left on the reddish stone, unable to fly with their small wings. The adults tried to encourage them into the air, but the few who tried were blown straight back onto the island.
'Urgh,' Hiccup said. It was too early for the hatchlings to leave, but the adult dragons looked like they weren't going to stay now that they were in the air. Maybe the hatchlings could...
'Ah.' His gaze fell on the broken ship. There was still enough of it left to be of use. He swooped down, Stormfly right behind him, and landed on the tilted deck in hybrid form. The vessel rocked dangerously beneath him, making him grab ahold of a rope attached to the mast.
'Everyone!' Most of the dragons looked over and a few flew down, curious to see what the human dragon thing was doing. 'If we tie ropes to this then we can carry it to Berk with the hatchlings riding in it.'
There was a murmur of agreement from the gathered dragons.
'We can't tie knots, though,' Stormfly pointed out. 'And where do we get the rope?'
That was a good point. He slid down to the end of the boat and rooted about in the jumble of boxes there, pulling out a coil of robe that he'd hoped would be there. 'We can use this, and the ropes that are still on the mast. I'll tie them on and everyone grab an end.'
Soon enough, ropes were tied and dragons were hauling, and the damaged ship was rising into the air for the first time in its existence. They carried it to the island and, as gently as possible, laid it down on the ground. It tilted to one side with a groan, threatening to tip over if the taut ropes slackened.
'All aboard!' Hiccup shouted. He joined in with herding the dragonlings onto the ship, a handy break in the flank of the boat letting them through. Most of them boarded easily, if a little nervously, but some stragglers evaded capture for a good ten minutes. Eventually everyone was on the cracked deck and the ship was airborne again, the dragons carrying it flapping hard. Hiccup somehow ended up at the front holding the rope that was tied to the figurehead, with Hookfang and Stormfly grasping ropes to either side of him. They rose into the low clouds so they would be hidden from boats below on the seas, only the hull of the ship breaking the clouds occasionally. It must have been a strange sight, if there were any fisherboats below, seeing a flying ship pass overhead.
It took longer to get back than it had to get there. A broken ship full of dragonlings was a heavy thing to haul across the sky, even with an army of a hundred or more dragons. Only once was there a mishap, a hatchling Nadder who got too close to the edge. But it was caught by a quick thinking Gronckle before it fell too far.
Just as the dragons were beginning to complain of sore wings, a scout whizzed back to report that Berk was in sight. Hiccup called for the flock to descend and, slowly, the ship emerged from the cloud. Just in time the Fury hybrid remembered that he was in dragon form. He gave the rope to a Zippleback beside him and with a flick of his wingtips flew above Hookfang, lined himself up and Shifted to human form. He landed on the Nightmare's back safely, if a little wobbly. He'd not Shifted in flight before, not to human anyway.
Shouts rang out from the island, showing that Vikings had spotted the flying ship. The gathering crowds stared up in awe as the apparently floating broken vessel descended towards them, creaking and groaning. A few curses of fear flew around, but they were drowned out by cheers of joy when the Wearle of dragons emerged from the clouds. Hiccup waved to his tribe and slipped forward so he sat at the base of Hookfang's neck, between the two spines that were further apart to allow easier movement.
The ship crunched into the stony ground with a worrying crack of timber, not as carefully as Hiccup had hoped. He winced and peered down into the boat as Hookfang released the rope and glided down, sighing with relief when he saw all the hatchlings were safe.
'Stormfly!' Astrid called, breaking from the crowd. She rushed to her dragon and tripped over the baby Nadders milling around Stormfly's feet. 'And you've got hatchlings!'
Hookfang landed and allowed Hiccup to slide to the ground before the Nightmare rushed to his Viking, giving Snotlout the traditional huff of smoke in the face. The one legged boy smiled as he watching dragons and Vikings being reunited, the joy apparent in their faces.
'Well done, son!' Stoick clapped Hiccup on his shoulder, almost knocking him flat to the ground. 'How did you find them?'
'I didn't,' he replied, rubbing his aching shoulder. 'Meatlug did. I just followed her.'
Stoick glanced at him with an eyebrow raised. 'Her? Fishlegs has got it wrong for months?'
Hiccup looked at Meatlug, who was currently bear hugging Fishlegs into the ground. 'Yeah, apparently he has.' He watched Fishlegs struggle out from beneath the Gronckle before he bear hugged her back. 'Is Toothless here?' The hybrid asked his father.
'No,' the Chief said. 'I haven't seen him for three days.' He saw Hiccup's dejected face and bent down to the boy's eye level. 'He'll be back, son. I'm sure of it. But for now, be proud of what you have done today. Not anyone could have brought the dragons back as you have done.'
Hiccup just nodded, his mind elsewhere. Maybe Astrid had been right when she said Toothless may never return.
'Good lad,' Stoick said, clapping him on the other shoulder with the force of a falling yak. 'Now we have something to celebrate!' He yelled to his tribe.

Oh, Toothless, where are you? Hiccup wondered as he watched everyone enjoying the festivities with their dragons. He'd thought that his friend would have gone with the migrating flock, but now that he'd found no sign of him there, he had no idea where to look.
A punch on his aching arm told him that Astrid was there. 'Hey,' she greeted.
    'Hey,' he said unenthusiastically.
Astrid moved round so she was standing in front of him with her arms crossed. 'He'll be back,' she assured him. 'I know he will.'
'But...' He stuttered. 'What if... What if he never comes back?'
'He wouldn't go for good,' Astrid said, and pulled him into a very un-Astridlike hug. 'You two have too close a bond to be separated,' she whispered. 'You'll see.' The Hofferson pulled back and smiled, a gleam in her blue eyes.
Warm breath ruffled his auburn hair, and an unmistakable warble made his eyes widen. He spun around and found green Night Fury eyes gazing down at him, his flickering reflection small and fuzzy in the black pupils.
'Toothless!' He gasped, flinging his arms around the dragon's neck. Toothless churred to him happily, sounding slightly odd. 'Where have you been?' Hiccup asked, stepping back to look at his friend. 'Don't you ever fly off like that again, bud! You scared me - and what have you got in your mouth?'
Toothless promptly plunked something hard and slobbery on his boy's head, strings of spit trailing down from it. Hiccup pushed it up from his eyes with a fingertip, trying to cringe from the saliva dripping onto him. 'Ew, that's disgusting. You didn't have to bring my helmet here... Wait. My helmet! So that's where you've been!'
    'Y s,' Toothless grinned.
Hiccup grinned back and hugged his Fury friend again, the horns of his helmet scraping against black scales. 'Thank you bud.'
    'Y u  r  w lc m ,' Toothless rumbled, his voice vibrating through Hiccup's small frame. 'W  t h pp n d h r ?'
'I'll say later,' Hiccup told him. 'For the moment, let's just enjoy the Snoggletog celebrations.'

Clouds of silver raced past beneath them, stars of light shone above their heads like a thousand pinpricks in a tent. Wind as cold as death buffeted them, whipping the winged boy's clothes about him, but neither really noticed.
'So that's what happened with me,' Hiccup finished his account of the hatching island and all that had occurred since Toothless had left. 'Now your turn.' He leapt off of his dragon's back and Shifted to dragon form, his wings filling with air like the sails of a boat.
'Well,' Toothless began. 'I knew you wouldn't have let me go find your helmet if I'd said, so when you made this new fin, I had to go. It took me two days to track the current that had taken your helmet, with some help from a Scauldron. I would never have found it without her. It had washed up on an island quite a distance from here, an island with many different kinds of rock which Meatlug would certainly enjoy.
'I found it wedged between two rocks - which is why its a little scuffed, sorry - at the edge of the ocean. I almost didn't see it because of the stone being the same colour as the metal. I got it out and stayed on that island for the night, listening to all the boulder dragons, before coming back here.'

A cold gust of wind lifted them higher above the clouds, the moving air gliding over their scales like water. 'You didn't have to go and find it, you know. But I appreciate it all same.'
Toothless gave an awkward shrug. 'It's the least I could do.'
' Hiccup flapped around in front of the Night Fury, forcing his friend to a stop. 'The least you can do is just... Be you. Having you as a friend is the best thing in the world.'
    'Awww, really?'
Toothless grinned. 'Not even Astrid is better?'
Hiccup whacked him with a wingtip and banked into a glide. 'Astrid's a friend, but you're my best friend.'
The Night Fury flapped to catch up. 'Good to know I'm not entirely ignored.'
Hiccup rolled his eyes. 'You're never ignored,' he said. 'And you never will be.'
On they flew, making a wide, slow circle around Berk. Up here, only the wind and clouds and sky saw them. Up here, they couldn't be seen by human eyes. Up here, they were free. Free like the wild dragons scattered across the Archipelago.
    'Hey, Hiccup?'
Hiccup replied absentmindedly.
'I want the old fin back.' Before the hybrid could ask why, Toothless continued. 'It's... Odd without you. I want you back flying with me. Yes, I do like being able to fly whenever I want, but it's not the same without you.'
Hiccup protested.
Toothless turned sharply and called back over his shoulder. 'I will show everyone what you are otherwise!'
Even though the son of the Chief knew his friend was joking, he still didn't want to risk it. He spun round and raced after Toothless, who was gliding at a quick pace towards Berk. 'Wait up!' He called. 'You win! I'll fly with you.'
The Night Fury looked back and grinned. 'I knew you'd see sense.' He began to fly rings around Hiccup while still somehow moving forwards. 'Race you through the seastacks?'
Hiccup grinned exactly like Toothless had. 'You're on, bud.'

AHHH THIS IS SO GOOD! However, you forgot one little bit--"THE EGGS EXPLODE!!!!" XD I dunno, the idea of Hiccup coming back and being like, "what attacked the village?" to Astrid and her just going "Waaeelllll funny story..." makes me laugh like nothing else. But this was super cute and perfect for Snoggletog/Christmas.

Also, thanks to Dragonriders Fury for indulging my Night Fury obsession with an incredible banner! It's awesome!

I love to write! While I am also trying to complete a novel, I love to write fanfictions and other random ideas that pop into my head.

The Dragoness Backstory: Fanfiction

Second Chance

Ahtohallan's Daughter

My vikings belong to the clan The Wildborn. However, since I'm not planning on being particularly active in-game anymore, if anyone would like to assume command of my little clan, just contact me on any of the threads I comment on (NO pms, sorry) and I'll get you set up! :D

(I LOVE this banner. Thanks, EmeraldHuntress!)

(This one was made by The Bohemian Critic--thank you, it's so beautiful!)

(Again by EmeraldHuntress. What, I loved them both!)

Ordered by preference, of course

(used to be top ten, but I have too many things that I love!)

HTTYD books/movies

(obviously, but I HAD to put that in there, it really is my favorite)

The books were SO GOOD. No swearing, no (extreme) violence (does getting eaten by a lava dragon that dives into a volcano count? Or Grimbeard the Ghastly killing his own son?) Okay, scratch the violence, but it really is pretty awesome. The characters are SO well put together, each with his or her own little quirks that make them unique, and they’re all (mostly) lovable in their own way (Alvin and Exellinor are irredeemable). The little lessons Cressida Cowell teach by inserting them into the plot are truly inspired. Can’t wait for her to write more!!! (Also, I love the quirky way she capitalizes random words to make them a little bit more important. It’s just funny to me.)

I'll leave off mentioning all the characters of the movies, because you guys know them all aready! But you may not know the Heroes who came first...

First (of course), Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III.

Rather a longish name for a smallish Viking. Hiccup is a member of the Hairy Hooligan tribe. He has bright red hair and about a million freckles. the series starts when he's ten-and-a-half, and progresses until he is fifteen and King of the Wilderwest. His best (and, for a few books, ONLY friend) is Fishlegs.

Fishlegs is scrawny, allergic to reptiles, pretty much scared of everything, and the only sane one of the group (well, the only sane one when Hiccup is making a Plan). But he's fiercely loyal to Hiccup, and a good deal stronger and braver than he thinks.

Next is Camicazi, who's a little too brave and fierce.

She's a Bog-Burglar, a member of an all-girls tribe of people who, well, burgle things. She is a very accomplished thief and a master escape artist.

Second in the fandom world is--you guessed it--Narnia. I have loved this world since before even HTTYD, I think. Though I'm not quite ready to meet Alsan, I would love to slip through the wardrobe for a few days--or years.

The False Prince

So the story is set in a medieval world in the land of Carthya. It's about an orphan named Sage. The storyline is great, the main character (Sage) is very well-rounded, believeable, and goes through some great character growth (not to mention he's snarky and smart and super funny). I LOVED it, and it's seriously amazing. If you read it, you will NOT be disappointed! (P.S. If you're one of those people who likes to read the end first, don't. Trust me, it's worth it to wait)

Artemis Fowl

OH MAI GAWSH I LOVE THIS SERIES. Artemis' gradual arc and his heists and jokes (on the rare occasion he demonstrates a sense of humor) are just the best thing EBER. ALSO! Holly Shory is the best LEPrecon to ever wear a set of wings. (Also if you wanna see an incredibly imaginative and accurate crossover fanfic about the Avengers meeting Artemis Fowl, this is where it's AT!) But don't watch the movie, ooohhh no. Disney still needs to apologize for giving a perfectly written anti-hero morals. The audacity!

The Magic Thief/The Lost Books/Sarah Prineas in general

I LOVE this series, it ended far too quickly for me (maybe cause I read it all in one day, hmmmmm). Connwaer and the magic and all of it are just so HILARIOUS and EXHILIRATING and FRUSTRATING to read about and STOP BLOWING THINGS UP, CONNWAER!!!

The Lost Books: MORE! MORE! I NEED MORE! (Seriously, when does the next book come out?)

Anyway, it’s about Alex, a librarian, and Kenneret, a queen, and her brother Charlie. Oh, and the books are alive (that’s enough to make any bookworm hyperventilate with happiness, isn’t it? ;D )

Attention to all the dragon-touched: This is a must-read. Go. Read it.

The Silver Eye

This is an INCREDIBLE webcomic by one Laura Hollingsworth (also the only webcomic/comic I have ever read, BUT STILL). The world is beautiful, the characters are funny and awesome (Apen and Joe are my favorites), and the art is incredible! It uploads a page EVERY FRIDAY and the story is so good!

Keeper of the Lost Cities

"Team Foster-Keefe will always be cooler."--Keefe

Yup, couldn’t have said it better myself. Team Foster-Keefe all the way! I have read Legacy and it was...what I expected (-_-) BUT UNLOCKED (Keeper book #8.5) looks so exciting! Can't wait!! 8D

...and birds. And wicked-looking staffs. And cute little blondies called Beastie.

Wasn't a fan of her outfit for like 90% of Maleficent 2 but the rest of it was great! Better than a certain movie I could mention *cough*TheHiddenWorld*cough*.

Wizards of Once

*anxiously jittering about the Unknown Narrator*
*casually stressing about Xar's Witchblood stain*
*hopelessly shipping Xar and Wish when Bodkin is probably going to get the girl*

Dwight in Shining Armor

I get a kick out of this every time I hear Dwight's shriek in the intro. BYUTv is the best!...at making things funny, clean, and SUPER awkward. But it's still great.

Story Thieves

My favorites are actually Kiel and Owen. No girls this time around, which is really unusual for me. But these two are special. Hope they have all the adventures they can imagine...and maybe a few safer ones.

The Ever Afters (EAS)

This series is pretty good. Aurora--excuse me, RORY Landon is so gutsy and flawed and lovable and I love her.

Brave (Merida)

Just gotta say, I LOVE this girl. Best Disney princess ever. Also--this isn't really related to the movie but it IS technically part of the franchise so imma say it anyway--her accent is gold. I friggin LOVE Scotland and the accent and the culture and lore and landscape and language and--okay, gushing aside, the point of this mini-rant is that I loved Merida in Wreck-it-Ralph 2. It was also the only thing I loved in Wreck-it-Ralph 2.

Pete's Dragon

Best song ever
