~ Dark future ~ ((official RP))
< Audrey Quinto >
I was a beautiful summer evening in the village.
The crickets where chirping and fireflies were blinking in grass. Stars began to twinkle and the horizo was
a beautiful bright pink. It was humid and warm, yet, there was a pleasant breeze.
Audrey was helping her grandparents prepare diner while her mother and father went to bring it in.
"When will they be back?" Audrey asked her grandma rose. "soon enough, dear. Now get back to work or we won't even be ready for them!" Audrey quickly gotgot back to work and finished iin no time at all.
After about an hour, Mr. And Mrs. Quinto returned. They had brought back three rabbits and a fox.
"Tried to eat one of the rabbits out of the trap," said Mr. Quinto. "Got himself killed"
Audrey pitied the fox, she had thought they were smarter than that. She helped her parents clean the animals and they
they all sat around the fire while the food cooked over it. When it was ready they ate and talked.
Audrey was lucky to have such a good life. Hours later, darkness had fallen and it was late.
Audrey said good night and headed into the house her parents had built and went up to her room.
She was so tired and beat, she just colasped down on her bed, laid on her back and went to sleep. It had been a good long day.
She had a bad dream; the wolf was back, in her house. It was dark, she saw two red glowing eyes, they came closer until the wolf hit the moonlight. It was bigger than she had remembered.
It growled and drooled. Audrey backed up slowly as the wolf got closer, she ran out of bedroom, she had backed
into the wall. She was pressed up against it; the wolf lunged. She screamed, but her scream then changed into a different scream.
She bolted upwards. There was a redish-orange light, she recognized it as fire. The Williams house was on fire.
Running out of her room and down the stairs. She ran outside. Her mother caught her from behind, one hand covering her mouth and her other around Audrey's waist. She dragged her into the house. "Stay here, stay hidden"
"But-
"They are after you!" Her mom cut her off. "Stay here, stay hidden!" She repeated. She began to walk away.
Audrey caught her wrist. "What about you?" Audrey asked. "I'll be fine" her mom answered. With a sweet look on her face. And then she ran out. Audrey did what she was told, though she had no idea what was going on. she ran upstairs
to her room to watch the commotion. men and women in white armor marched aroaround the village, burning buildings
and taking teens and young adults. there was a bang; the front door had been knocked down. Audrey gasped silently.
She ran to her wardrobe. She heard crashes and more banging. They were turning the place upsidedown.
She heard stomping up the stairs. Then through a crack, she could see two people. She couldn't make them out.
They rummaged around her room until she heard a woman's voice. "Wait, one more place. . ."
And the door burst open. She yelled, out of the wardrobe she fell she had sprained her wrist from the fall.
Eyes watering and vision blurred, she looked up to see the same two figures. One she made out to be a woman and the other a man. Bag bag was put over her face and the world went dark.
((Feel free to post how you got captured ^ ^))
~Eira~
Eira was helping her older brother, North, with stacking wood in the Wood House.
That's when the bang happened. It was loud. Men in reinforced jeeps came.
"Get inside. And don't say a word..don't even move", North yelled as he ran for the gun shed.
Knowing her brother, Eira made a run for the cabin. She slammed the door behind her.
That is when the sounds happened. Gun shots...thumps.
Make it stop.
Eira squeezed her ears with her hands.
Her heart thumped at every shot, worried if that was North.
She looked out the window and saw her brother, who was known for his good hand with guns, shooting at the men.
The marksman he was, he only need one bullet per man.
Make them stop...
But then...time seemed to stop, as a man was able to shoot North in the shoulder causing him to lurch backwards.
The men then turned there attention back at the cabin. North was being held down by two men. Five men made there way to the cabin.
What do I do?
She ran into the basement and locked the door. She almost tripped on her way down. She hid underneath a table and silently began praying to God. Hoping He would hear her.
The men easily broke the door and came to where she was.
"We can make this easy little lady", a gruff man said, "you come with us now and we will leave your brother alone".
She stayed where she was, remembering North's words.
But....
The man flicked his fingers and another man said something into a radio. Then...
The gunshot happened.
Immediatly, Eira knew that that was meant for North. He was gone, like that.
The gruff man nodded and a guard came and grappled onto Eira's arm. Eira didn't even fight...she just stayed there, limp, unmoving.
Her heart just shattered into a million pieces.
The man in charge had a syringe and put it in her arm and she began losing conscienceness, but she didn't care.
The very thing she only cared about was swiped from her in a few minutes.
She had nothing left to live for.
Black took over her vision.....
Her brothers face was last thing she saw...
Before...the darkness....
(Whew....that was the longest intro I have ever done.)
(Can I post when she wakes up? Or would you prefer me wait for everyone else's intro?)

Juni was sitting in the small house she and her parents used to share, but that was a long time ago.
Now it only held memories. Happy memories that had turned sour.
For when her parents had been killed, she had turned bitter as well. The memories seemed to have a happy golden tone to them, teasing her, reminding her if a time when life wasn't so grey.
She might as well have been killed too.
Maybe she was.
Juni died that day. Happy, friendly Juni.
Juni frowned in disgust. How naive she had been.
Now there was only bitter and cold Juniper.
She leaned her head back against the wall she was sitting against, sighing as loudly and dramatically as possible.
She closed her eyes, trying to ignore her bleak environment.
She had stopped caring for the place not to long after her parents were murdered. It was now dusty, grey and in much disrepair. She didn't care. It wasn't her home anymore.
Thud.
Her eyes shot open.
A car door had shut outside, and it was close by.
Was there someone here? Why would there be someone here?
Maybe it was another mob, just like the one that took her parents from her, and now it came to take her as well.
She didn't move. She didn't care. All she wanted right now (and for the past 14 years) was to die. Now she could.
Feet stomped up the stairs. She heard them searching every room. Hers, the bathroom, the office. Finally they came to the room she was in.
The door burst open, the hinges knocked off the wall.
Three men in armor burst in, carrying guns.
Yes, finally she could return to her parents.
Instead of shooting her on the spot, like she had thought they would, two of them grabbed her arms and twisted them behind her back and held them there, rendering her unable to move.
One of the men also grabbed her head and held it still. Why would they need to do that? She wondered.
Then the other man pulled out a long syringe, full of some strange liquid.
Juni cringed. She hated needles.
The man slid the needle into her neck and injected the liquid into her bloodstream.
Her vision got cloudy as they let her go, dropping her to the ground.
She looked at a picture frame that was on the wall.
She saw a young woman and a young man, smiling at the camera. Her parents. In front of them was a little girl, one that Juni had almost forgotten.
That was the last thing she saw before she blacked out.
((Just trackin'))
.....You are in it...right?....
.......Yes.
.........Just checking.....'cause I forgot
....Oh, that's alright..... Just tracked so I could post later......
Makes sense.
Bump Bump Bump.
WHAT DOES DA FOX SAY?!
So...
Run Run Run, Jump! I can be a backpack while you run.
Run Run Run, Jump! I can be a backpack while you run.
Now breathe...
That's Good.
Like That..
Like that.
I know....I am annoying.
~Eira~Snow Leopard~
Eira opened her eyes slowly. Light came pouring in...a bit too fast for her.
She looekd down and noticed that she was in a chair in a white room.
She was tied to the chair with white straps, that made her wrists feel pressured.
What am I doing here?
Wow.
The light made her eyes need more time to adjust to the brightness.
She looked over to her left and saw another girl who was awake.
"Hello", she said quietly, hoping that she could hear her.
Juni's eyes shot open, but closed immediately after, stinging from the harsh lighting.
She opened her eyes again, slowly this time.
She was meet with the harsh flourescent lighting that had blinded her moments ago.
She was cold, very cold. Where was she?
She looked around, she was on a cold white table that reminded her of the doctor's office. She groaned inwardly. She hated the doctor's office.
Then she noticed that she couldn't move.
She looked at herself. She was strapped down, tight.
Both wrists were burning because it was so tight.
They had also strapped down her forearms, waist, thighs, and ankles.
Obviously, whoever has put her here, didn't want her going anywhere.
She turned her head and saw that there were four other people as well, one of whom was awake.
Aron's eyes fluttered open as he began to regain consiousness. Then he realized he had been out cold a few moments ago and his eyes shot open, only for them to immediately close from the bright light. He squinted and saw that it was all white, like a doctor's office, or like at the dentist. He knew that he was sitting, but when he tried to move he couldn't. He was strapped on tight. He looked around the room, his eyes getting more accustomed to the bright lighting. He saw four other people he reckognized, though his memory of them was fuzzy. How did he end up here? He heard the others quietly talk to each other, and decided not to waste this chance. However had kidnapped them could come back at any moment. "Hey, I'm Aaron. Do you know anything of what happened? Or why we're here?" he asked them all quietly.
~Eira~
Eira turned, as well as she could, and saw another person awake.
"Hey, I'm Aaron. Do you know of anything that happened? Or why we're all here?", he asked silently.
Eira shook her head, "I don't know why we are here. All I know is that they k*lled my brother to get me here. So it must be important...to them, anyways".
Eira felt like her wrists would snap under the pressure at any moment.
She banged her head on the back of the chair, squeezing her eyes shut.
Aaron frowned slightly at the girl's anwser. He also flinched a bit when she banged her head on the back of her chair. "Don't do that! It won't help, and the people who took us could hear" he hissed quietly to her. And when he said that he started thinking. How did he end up here? His memory was fuzzy, and he blew away some of his white bangs as he tried to concentrate. Fire... And screaming. That he remembered. His parents and sister running away, escaping through the secret door in their house... Yes, so far so good. Intruders... A gunshot, and people busting through his door. A person screaming when he shot them with his self-made tazer gun, and being apprehended mere seconds after that... He winced as the binds on his hands and arms were wound way too tightly for his liking.
~Eira~
She heeded Aaron's words and stopped, but the pain was becoming more excruciating by the minute.
"I'm sorry", she said, quietly as she kept her eyes closed. She tried to rememer all that had happened.
North yelling at her to go inside, and North using his marksmanship.
North getting k*lled.
And finally the syringe....the blackness...the pain....the horror.
She squeezed her eyes even tighter, remembering the pain when she realized he was gone forever.
Never to come back.
"Don't say not one word", he used to tell her when he was still alive. She had a reputation of being dumb (the "I can't speak type".) She always never spoke when North told her not to. He was her guide, her mentor in the harsh world.
And he was gone.
~Eira~
Eira immediatly stiffended when the man, Dr. Schwatz, came in.
What does he want?
What do they want?
Why am I here?
She wanted to go curl up a corner and d*ie.
There was nothing left....no home...no family....she was alone....
She laid her head back and closed her eyes.
She felt her sweaty white/blond hair on her neck. She knew that she would never see North again.
This couldn't possibly get any worse.
An unfamiliar man walked in not long after the girl had stopped banging her head. He introduced himself as Dr. Schwartz, and Aaron took his time to study him. He was dressed up in a white lab coat which was surprisingly meat and tidy. Gotta give him props to that at least. Aaron could also spot some things in his pocket, a syringe along with a few other things he didn't quite make out. At least he now knew this guy wasn't messing around. Aaron kept a cool posture, while this person may not have their best interest in mind he did have some form of respect to people who worked in the field of science.
Juni watched silently as a man walked in, wearing a brilliant white lab coat. In the coat pocket, there was a syringe, and she thought she could make out a pen.
After taking his moment to look over the man's appearence, he realized something. This place had lights, and lights need power. This man, or whoever he was working with or to, had electricity, enough to at least power the lights in the room they were in, which he found unlikely. If he had enough electricity to power one room, he had to have enough to power a whole house, or a lab in this case. He swallowed slightly. There were so many questions siveling around his mind, but there was one in particular he wanted to ask really badly. He chose to choose his words very carefully. "Why are we here?" he asked.
~Eira~
Eira took a moment to think about the question Aaron just asked.
Why are we here here?
Wait a darn moment...they are lights....why? How? When did these people get power?
She opened her ice eyes to survey the room. The lights were blinding. She squinted her eyes so she could look straight up.
(@Thunderbird Have they already been transformed?)
~Eira~
Eira closed her eyes once more after he left. She felt terrible, her sides ached and her heart felt stiff. She didn't even know that that was possible.
She turned her head and opened her eyes and looked at the door that.
"These voices won't leave me alone", she whispered as she heard her brother's voice, her mother's voice, and her abusive father's voice. Her mother was crying, her father was yelling at her, and her brother was yelling at him. It wouldn't stop. The voices wouldn't quiet, they seemed to get louder in her head. She placed her head on the back of the chair.
All she felt was pain and despair.
Eira clenched her fists and the binds seemingly tightened.
W-what?
She looked at them and sighed.
Juni groaned. Dr.Schwartz wouldn't give them any information at all. Isn't he helpful?
Her anger was rising. When he asked if they were comfortable, she couldn't take it.
She tried to lunge for him, but it only made the marks where her restraints are worse. The straps dug into her skin.
~Eira~
She looked over at the girl who tried to lunge at the "scientist".
She sighed. She knew that they were probably in trouble...big trouble.
She thought about the kidnapping. It was fast...like they had done it many times before and they k*ll without reason...
She felt the bl*od leaving her wrists.
"What ever they want to do, they better hurry it up just a little bit", she mumbled aloud.
She kept her fists clenched, feeling her finger nails digging into her palm.
Her face got very hot...she felt like something began burning her. She looked up and saw the light seeming to get brighter.
Her albino skin couldn't handle the severe light.
As Dr. Shwartz anwsered his question with the oh so classic "It's classified information, Aaron couldn't help but internally cringe at the sight of his teeth. Yellow, multiple cavities, silver teeth as replacements for teeth that had fallen out. The man walked around them, causally asking about them being comfortable. Yep, this guy. What nerve. Aaron gave him a flat stare, not replying to him. This person was pushing their buttons, he knew that. He just had to keep calm and stay collected, after all, two can play the same game, right? He made quick notice of the decide in his ear. It was most likely for communication, though he wouldn't be surprised if the thing was recording everything as well.
Thankfully, the man left the room not too long afterwards, and closed the door. Aaron let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding. He quickly glanced around the room, well, as much as his current position allowed him to. He could only see the lights on the ceiling, but he was more than sure that they were being watched. Hiding security cameras wasn't a trick of any sorts before the blackout. Looking back at the people around him, he saw that the girl he had talked to earlier was looking pretty bad. He heard her mumble something about voices, but that was really all there was to it. He felt bad for the girl, at least his family had gotten out safely from what he knew. Another girl he hadn't paid attention to earlier was looking somewhat ready to k.ill someone. The girl groaned in frustration, and Aaron was pretty much ready to do the same. This wasn't supposed to happen. Years of careful planning and rehersing in case something like this were to happen, and he failed miserably. But, putting his newfound frustration to the side, he focused on the situation. If these people are the last ones he'll ever meet before his death, he might as well get to know them. "Hey, who are you all? I remember seeing you once or twice in my town, but I don't think we ever got to talk with each other" he said, trying to start up a conversation.
~Eira~
Eira turned and looked at Aaron.
"I ony remember going into a town once", she said to him.
Her skin had pink spots becasuse of the light.
"My brother didn't ever let me outside often and when I did I wore a black hood".
She looked longingly at the door the man had walked out of.
Aaron turned towards the girl he had spoken to. She told him about what her living conditions had been like, and this only made him feel worse for her. At least he had had someone to share the burden of being different with. He then noticed how the girl's skin was gradually turning pink. He stared. Her skin couldn't take the harsh light so well, and at least his hair was too big of a mess so that his head and neck was protected from the light. She was looking longingly towards the door, and he found himself doing the same for a few seconds. He hadn't noticed it before, but he was slowly starting to feel warm as well. He was pretty accustomed to wearing clothes that covered his entire body, so he was mostly safe. Now he was becoming concerned over how long she would be able to last.
~Eira~
Eira took in a deep breath.
"So", she started, "what about you? What was your life like?"
She had to keeep her mind off of the searing light.
Why are we here? There obviously was a purpose.
What was it?
She thought about it for a minute before she gave up.
(short POSTS SHALL LIVE ON!)
The girl breathed in air, obviously bothered by the light. Then she asked him about his life. He looked at her before starting. "Well, I was born before the blackout. Ever heard of the Nigh's? Yeah. I had a pretty good childhood, I'd say. I have a sister, and our parents really cared for us. Even if we were a bit bratty now and then. My parents owned a company that got them pretty good cash, and while I wouldn't say we were exactly rich on the level that millionaires were, we did have a good sum of money. Me and my sister were both born with a fairly new mutation, a very rare one. Xandria Albinism is what it's called. Hence the white hair and purple eyes" he said, blowing away a few bangs so she could see his eyes better. "Though, I guess my social life was pretty much none existant, has always been. Me and my sister both went to private school. We were apparently both very talented academically, me being more in the science field and my sister in physical activities, art and literature. Though she does have a knack for math as well. She even became a falconer as soon as she could and got herself an american kestrel named Owen. He basically became our guard and hunting bird when we moved to the village. Ever since then I've kept more to myself and my projects, occationally helping my sis hunt for food" he summed up, shaking his head so he could cool himself down. He was starting to feel the effects of the lights as well, and the binds felt like they were digging through his skin, which they probably were.
~Eira~
Eira smiled, happy that he had a good childhood.
"Pretty eyes", she told him, "mine are blue because of how the sun reflects into the iris...but, still, I am starting to understand what my brother was talking about when he said 'appreciate your hood'. I guess I never really did appreciate it".
Her hair was long and was semi-thick, but not enough to shield her. "Is it just me or does the light seem to get brighter everytime I move", she said softly.
She looked up at the ceiling, definitely getting brighter.
Aaron couldn't help but smile slightly himself when he saw her smile, and even more so when she told him that he had pretty eyes. "Thanks, while my sister also has the same condition as I do, her eyes aren't really purple, more like s blueish periwinkle color" he said and glanced up at the lighting. "It definitely feels like it's getting more brighter, I'm just not sure" he said before remembering something. "Hey, I don't think I ever got your name. It's alright if you don't wanna tell me though".
~Eira~
"Eira", she said, "my name is Eira Gwyn....which literally means 'Snow White' in Welsh".
She smiled, remembering when her brother kept calling her Snow White and bought her a whole storybook of different tellings of Snow White.
"Oh, heh, nice. Guess that only makes sense, you know, skin white as snow?" He said. He had never really been into fairly tales, especially the older ones. Though he did know a few things about them.
Juni looked the other way when they started talking about their families. She prayed that the ground would open up and swallow her whole. She really didn't want to have to answer their abnoxius (RIP Spelling) questions.
~Eira~
Eira sat there, "why do you think we are here?"
She unclenched her fists and her fingers were shaking because of the intensity of the heat.
They quived and she pretended not to notice.
Just as he had said that he turned to face the other two who had been quiet so far. He managed to catch the movement of one of the girls, the one with the temper, turn her head around to face somewhere else. "Hey you, what's your name?" He asked her.
((muahhahaa))
((Lolololol))
Juni groaned inwardly. Too late.
She turned to the one who had asked her her name and glared as hard as she could.
"My name is Juniper." She said, short and to the point.
~Eira~
Eira heard the other girl whisper, "just k*ll me".
Eira's eyes widened, despite the searing pain that followed.
"You can't d*e", she exclaimed, "you just can't".
She stared at her, remembering the time she pleaded to her brother to destroy her.
"I, also, wanted to have someone k*ll me when my mother was k*illed by a leopard. Preferably by my brother, but he convinced me that there is more to live for. A bigger picture. Something more than just living. My mother always said that".
She hoped that that did something....
Probably not though. I was never able to help anyone...not even Mom.
She wanted to hug her so bad! She needed a good hug.
(Oh my gaw! My captcha had my actual name!!! How did it know??!!)
~Eira~
Eira stared at her face.
"That's alright", she said, realizimg that she was trying to hide her missing eye the whole timw, "I really don't think that that is something you should hide".
She looked at the girl with a serious expression, "you survived a wolf attack, didn't you? You shouldn't be ashamed of it. I used to be afraid of everything, how I look, how I speak. But then I realized something, I was made the way I was supposed to, no matter what other people think. I was sure that it was my fault that my father ws mean to my mother. I was sure. The wolf attacked you and you suvived. That says something. You are worth it, whether you believe it or not. Look at what you've got and make the best of it. It is better to light a candle, than to curse the darkness".
She smiled at the girl.
The pain was still quite severe and her face was burning. She closed her eyes and prayed that the pain would cease sometime soon.
At least I am helping someone.
Juni went back to staring at the wall near her, trying to avoid the prying eyes of other people.
Her gaze drifted to her restraints.
The stable was no longer cold, but hot and sweaty, sticking to her skin. Juni shifted in an attempt to get to a better position, but only succeeded in cutting through her wrists and ankles. Also, her restraints seemed to get tighter, making everything more difficult.
She heard the conversation wander to life being worth it.
She snorted at this idea.
"Life is worthless. No matter how nice you are to it, it'll just stab you in the back sooner or later. And no one will even care." She told them, not even looking up.
~Eira~
"Well", she began her response, "then what is life to you? To me, it is to fulfill your purpose. What that purpose it, I don't know".
Eira's mother always tried to look on bright side of things and so did her brother.
Why, she did not know....what was so bright about this world? Nothing.
She smiled, despite her mood.
"I don't know what", she repeated quietly, shifting her eyes down to her cuffs.
She looked down at the cuffs and knew that there was no escape.
Aaron just sat and listened there for a while when the others were talking quietly. Juniper, as she had learned her name was, was rather pessimistic over the whole situation. He couldn't help but groan inwardly to himself. Of course one of them had to be a giant edgelord. He looked back towards Eira. She was looking even worse now. He frowned. If only he could help her. "Well, to me life is just what it is. Life. There's no purpose, and at some point we will all die, one way or another. Sometimes people do care, sometimes not. You can give your life a purpose, but it doesn't neccesarily have to have one" he said
I think we should wait for everyone to post their intro first. That way we won't go to far without anyone.
We'll wait a few hours if you don't mind.
