Reginald Eason Pierce | Corsen

Kriivthi burst out laughing at the reverberation of the redhead colliding with indistinguishable objects. Corsen perked her attention up, allowing her eyes to adjust to the darkness. She was able to discern vague shapes with the aid of sunlight casting through the open doorway.

"Yes... no... I don't know." Corsen uncertaintly acknowledged Aurvang's comment, the red panda padding quickly over to where her bevvied human had managed to batter into the back of several chairs, his clumsy movements paired with his tall stature rendering the male flipped over the seating. Peering at the arrangement, Corsen was able to associate the very specific placement of chairs to that often seen in human auditoriums or theatres.

"You're going to end up very sore tomorrow," Corsen chided once she assured Reg was uninjured, remembering how he'd already been fallen atop of by Kriivthi earlier that day. Reginald only simpered, his sprawled body taking up several theatre seats.

Roku friendship pending

Roku heard the shuffling, and the shadow moved away from the entrance. Are they gone?

"I'm sorry," Nope. They still sound nearby "I must've sounded suspicious, huh. But I really don't intend any harm. It's just that…I guess… I thought it would do you good to have company, even for just a moment. It's comforting when you're struggling and there's someone beside you, you know? It reminds you that you're never alone.Still, I understand I'm just a stranger. I'll be on my way but I'll leave these things behind. Help yourself, okay?"

Roku listened. Part of her are screaming for the person to just shut up and go away already but the  other part of her listen and even let the word sink in and reflect. She doesn't want to unpack everything yet though.

It seems that the person is finally moving away. It wasn't sure if they're gone for good or just giving her more space which that's actually good enough for her. She openned the grate and quickly snatched the item in. One hand stuffing the muffin in her mouth and begin to quickly get to work with her injured hand. Once it was done. Roku flexed it in experiment. Pause then her attention focus back at this mysterious helper.

Well this is interesting if not a little bothersome. While Roku is definitely not someone who follow the rules but in her world at least for the children of the street there are sets of unspoken rules that most of them follow. If you got help, you help them in return. No swear words. and If someone trip you leave them to d,ie. Roku has break some of them in multiple occasion and is far away from follow them religiously but doesn't mean that she doesn't heed some of it. She had swore but would gasp and feel bad about it everytime. and she almost always repay the debt. Mostly for her to not feeling indebt to someone. This might mean she might have to work to return this person a favour in her own way later. But for this instant.....

Curiousity got the better of her. She opened the grate first as the invitation but a few second later her head poke out of the vent to, looking to see if Itheil is still there.

Kriivthi Mæla | Aurvang

Aurvang sighed as he followed everyong in, glancing to the lynx that had walked in with them. A little more relieved at the sight of Sika.

"You kay?" Kriivthi slurred, sounding more like he said something else, but he couldn't even process what that was. Needing to hold onto the wall for support as the teen started trying to pinpoint where Reg was by sound alone. Granted he was still scattered, and he doubt he'd be any use, but he still tried to reach out to help the ginger out of his predicament. Gently pulling him to his feet, although he couldn't really tell if he was helping, or falling into the seats beside him. He was quite sure he was on his feet, but after a moment he realized he was staring at the ceiling. Deciding he could do nothing but childishly giggle to himself. Aurvang stared at the figure that was his human and tilted his head to the side in confusion, letting out a long sigh shortly after.

"Gods d.amn humans and their disorientating drink..." He quietly muttered to himself.

"Should we do something?" The snake asked a little louder for the other two to hear.

Reg's diffused thoughts had

Reg's diffused thoughts had difficulty understanding the last several moments of events. The redhead realized he'd fallen over some seating, but he had trouble figuring out how and why he was in his current predicament. The next thing Reg knew, someone slurring their words uttered out a question. It was rather garbled, causing Reginald to frown, his current state of mind not enabling him to easily construe the words.

"Yeaaa," Reg sputtered, giggling once more as he realized he did not even know if the word actually answered the question with any sort of validity. The owner of the voice reached out to grab at Reginald's hands. Now that the figure had drawn closer, Reg felt a sliver of discomfit. In the darkness of the room, only Kriivthi's face and hands seemed visible, pale skin and icy eyes reflecting the distant lighting streaming through the doorway. However, the black hair and dark clothing the male wore seemed to fuse into the inky darkness of the auditorium.

Reg realized that the seemingly disconnected, floating hand was reaching towards him. Reginald's mind was caught between the decision of biffing the hand away or accepting it grabbing his own. He briefly wondered why a dismembered ghost wanted to hold hands with him. Reg flushed, his nonsensical thoughts caught between flattery and being irritated about not being asked first. His idleness had taken too long at this point, as his palms were enveloped before Reg could figure out his own reaction. The male felt his body begin to lift upwards without his own aid, but next thing he knew, the redhead was falling downwards into the soft cushions once more as Kriivthi seemed to lose his own balance.

Reginald could not hold back a shriek at the sight of what appeared to be only a face falling into the seats next to him. However, the drunken ginger only became more spooked when his own voice rebounded around the echoing chamber.

"I'm not even sure what we can do... they're falling over themselves." Corsen snorted at the bizarre development unfolding before them.

"Though I guess we're in it now." Coroanch sighed "no getting out unless we can fake our own d.eaths." she smirked

"Maybe it'll be fun." Aligerous decided to be optimistic on this, thinking that maybe they can actually grow in their learning while being here-and maybe even grow in their Dæmon/human bond. "Maybe we'll find something new, and maybe we'll be out of here before we know it."

"Maybe..."

Violeta nodded, Heru shifting back to his moth form once again and settling in her pocket, his little fluffy head poking out.

"I guess so. I'm planning on staying the year and deciding if I want to stay longer. That's what my parents agreed on. I'm honestly not used to being in one place more than a month." She admitted, a little nervous about being stuck in one place

Kriivthi's eyes widened at the shriek, now darting around his surroundings in search of the people that seemed to have appeared and had the ginger's voice. Although the echoing yelp hadn't quite settled, still bouncing around the auditorium. This made Kriivthi think the people were unnaturally jumping around the building and screaming to confuse him. But when he couldn't find anyone in the darkness or hear any footsteps, he began thinking it was a bunch of ghosts trying to mess with them.

"Did you hear that?" Kriivthi muttered, trying to sit himself upright. After a bit of struggle, he eventually managed to be somewhat sitting up. More hanging on to the back of a chair as he looked into the darkness in search of these supposed ghosts.

"Hello?" Kriivthi called out, instantly lowering himself closer to the chairs as the echo returned to him. However, it was louder in his head, his ears seeming to pick up more responses from every corner of the theater.

"There's ghosts here" Kriivthi blurted out, moving slightly closer to Reg upon his drunken realization.

"And now apparently seeing ghosts" Aurvang sighed in agreement, shaking his head at the conclusion his human came up with.

"Why the h.ell are you scared of your own... species?" Reginald asked irritably. He squinted his eyes against the darkness, trying to see if he could glimpse any of the ghostly figures Kriivthi seemed to be hearing. He heard the other boy shuffling closer, though Reg was not sure if that was too reassuring as Kriivthi was perceived as a floating head in his eyes.

Out of the corner of his eye, Reg saw sudden movement. The redhead managed to rein in an outburst.

However, another movement pushed Reg to whip his head around, taking in the sight of an unknown white figure.

Reginald squawked in fear, somehow clearly making out the apparition. It was a white figure, folds falling over a vaguely humanoid shape. Dark eyes were the only defining feature on what would be the head of the ghost.

In reality, the figure was comical, similar to what a small child might wear on Hallow's Eve, utilizing an old white sheet and cutting two haphazard eyeholes to peer out of.

However, in Reginald's tipsy eyes, the floating figure was absolutely terrifying. As if summoned by the teen's screaming, numerous more pale spectrals materialized around the room, surrounding the two drunkards.

Corsen viewed the scene from near the doorway, where she'd stationed herself since the boys had entered the theatre. Unlike Reginald, she realized the boy was unintentionally utilizing his mental projection abilities. The boy's weakened mental state must have lowered his control over the ability, though Reg had yet to grasp complete authority over it even when sober.

Reginald's loose control over the projection meant other hints of his mental state leaked through, though perhaps none too noticeable. Emotions emanated themselves palely as colors in the outskirts of Reg's projection range. Hints of red shone, probably representing Reginald's fear of the situation at hand. Paler hazes of pink were also eminent, which Corsen often associated with some sort of human vulnerability, but Corsen was a bit unsure what that was representing for the boy at the moment.

"I don't want... your hand," Reginald screeched at a random ghost figure, turning himself around in the seat. He was inherently sitting backward in the chair and struggling to pull himself upwards, his legs swung over the back. It was a highly inefficient way to exit the chair, but the boy managed the feat by using an unnecessary amount of force against the armrests to lift his body over the back of the seat, squirming all the way.

Reginald raced to the doorway, only to take in the sight of three animals. Corsen, who he could recognize even in his panicked and drunken state. There was also a rather large cat at the door, of whom Reg recognized but could not place at the moment. But Reginald's blue eyes stared shellshocked at the long body of a stark white snake.

The ginger's mind seemed to run through various scattered thoughts, seeming to finally associate the snake with Kriivthi, though not presuming that Aurvang was not a threat.

"You... you were a ghost this whole time!" Reg gasped in accusation as if he had figured out a grand mystery.

Kriivthi stared at Reg for a moment, not quite sure who he was talking to as he wasn't holding out a hand to him anymore. Only as he glanced around in search of who he was addressing, is when he noticed several ghosts floating around in odd ambient lighting. The sight earned an quiet and awkward squeal from the teen as he fumbled in his spot. Not entirely sure which was the best way out of the chair, or even which way to run once he got out of it. The echoing from his voice reverberating back and making his mind race through several scenarios about who squealed and why. Looking back over to Reg for help just to see him missing from his spot. This caused the teen to freeze as he stared at where the ginger was previously, entirely clueless on where he went. But the male nearly jumped out of his skin as he heard the missing ginger proclaim a discovery from behind him.

"You... you were a ghost this whole time!"

Aurvang stared at the ginger, blinking absent mindedly as he was accused of being a phantom creature, making the snake want to play a rather cruel joke on Reg. But, he held himself back for the moment as he didn't want to anger the red panda beside him. Just yet, that is. Instead, he watched as his own human finally shuffled out of the chair that 'trapped' him, not paying much attention to where he was running. Resulting in the darked hair male crashing into the ginger's back, then stumble a step or two away from him with wide eyes.

Corsen tensed, unsure of how Aurvang would react to the outlandish allegation. However, the snake remained silent, seeming to quietly judge the situation.

Before Reginald could utter another nonsensical sentence, the tall male was charged into by Kriivthi, knocking both of the boys off balance.

From Reg's viewpoint, a ghost had just tried to tackle him.

"I'm sorry for talking to your ghost snake," Reg shuttered at the collision. Now, the ginger's projected ghost apparations swooped closer.

"Reginald! Calm down!" Corsen stated firmly, stalking forward as the ginger's eyes widened, not unlike Kriivthi's own expression.

"Oh, rat," Reg dryly whined, his wonky perspective seeing Corsen in a white hue rather than her usual red. "I didn't know you died, too."

Corsen was about to open her mouth once more, but the ghost figures were now almost upon Reginald and Kriivthi. Reg noticed this, and his next action seemed to be making a break for it out the front door.

Aurvang couldn't help but laugh at Reg's comments, the fearful expression his own human gave to his apology was even more priceless to the albino. However, he quickly shimmered out of existance as the ginger came running towards him, more in attempts to escape what Aurvang figured is his own magic. The darker haired male soon bee-lining it after him as the holographic sheet ghosts chased them out of the dark theater. Kriivthi seeming to completely forget about his dæmon and just kept running.

"Oh gods..." Aurvang muttered, coming back into sight.

"Guess we need to go hunt them down now then, eh?" Aurvang boredly cooed, giving Corsen an even more bored look.

Corsen seemed far less calm about the situation than Aurvang. She called out after Reg, but the boy had already departed from the auditorium. Kriivthi sprinted outside in a similar manner.

Corsen bounded through the doorway, trying to spot the familiar fiery hair of Reg. However, the boy seemed nowhere to be found from her perspective. While usually not exhibited because he did not utilize it often, Reginald's stride was scarily fast.

The red panda whipped her head around but was still unable to spot Reg. However, she could still see Kriivthi running off. In an attempt to stop Aurvang's human from disappearing like her own, Corsen shifted into her flamingo form. She quickly lifted off from the ground, flying after the dark-haired boy.

"Hey!" Corsen squeaked once she'd caught up with Kriivthi. She glanced around, and sure enough, the two seemed to be out of Reginald's projection range for the moment. They were relatively close to the dormatory area of the school. The daemon wondered if she could herd the human into the building before going after her own. "Slow down, it's okay! Nothing is after you anymore!"

“Yes,” Lila responded curtly, confirming her suspicions. “Herschell is still in his seat and we can track the other two down once we get CarrotTop.” Neve’s eyebrows shot up of their own volition at the nickname, but she said nothing as Lila opened a shed that, by the sounds of it, she wasn’t actually supposed to be in. Rather than follow her in, Neve waited outside until Lila came back out with what Drishti described as a red wheelbarrow with the paint flaking off. She listened to the creaking door as it swung shut and open again, and then to the way Lila’s footsteps sounded slightly heavier as she pushed the wheelbarrow ahead, the wheel bumping across the ground.

“Sooo…gander?” she reminded the girl as they began moving back, since Lila didn’t seem inclined to volunteer the information of her own accord.

Kriivthi stopped in his tracks as he heard a female call out from above, then jumped at the sight of the flamingo landing. Staring at her with a dumbfounded look as he processed her words. Upon hearing that nothing was after him anymore, his ice blue eyes darted around the area to double check that there was no more ghosts. Not that he didn't trust the flamingo, but wanted to be sure. Letting him heave a breath of relief and then start stumbling to the somewhat recongizable dorms.

Aurvang watched as Corsen raced after his human, but the sound of racing steps and occasional squeaks enticed him more.

"I think I hear Reg, let's go collect him" Aurvang chirped, deciding to shift into a bat and race in the direction he heard him in. Which was confirmed by time he caught sight of the ginger still running from sheeted ghosts. Looking to Sika with sigh but then thought for a second.

"Let's.. drop down carefully... He's already accused me of being a ghost, don't want to further that assumtion" He cooed, then dove a little early and glided over to Reg with a quick "hey!" to hopefully stop him.

Sika leapt out of the way of the two humans and accompanying ghosts. 'What the Hel are those?!' He hissed, not knowing that it was Reg who had made them. He darted out after the humans and took to the wing as a crow, following Reg and Aur. The ginger was on a mad dash somwhere with the hoard of phantoms behind him.

Following the bat's example, he dropped down and glided over to Reg.

'Stop!' Sika called after him, taking a much less polite route. 'Reg, you doofus, stop!'

Corsen sighed in relief as Kriivthi headed into the building. She shifted her wings, allowing her to land at the doorstep to the entrance.

"Do you know where your room is?" Corsen gently asked, not quite sure if the boy was in right enough mind to figure that out in such a maze-like castle with various floors and hallways. Still, she would at least ask before she had to infer where to take Kriivthi herself.

Reg slowed down, hearing his name being called. As if deep within his stupored state, sober Reginald had heard the name the crow had called him, and he was not taking kindly to the wording.

"Excuse you? Who are you callin' a doofus, birdy?" Reg curled his lip, slowing to a halt. Distracted, the number of figures in the ginger's projections lessened, with only a few ghostly depictions remaining. In their place, a clown appeared, as if conjured up in Reginald's mind from hearing the term 'doofus' and trying to place its meaning in his current state of mind.

Kriivthi walked into the castle like school and then stared up at the stairs, now completely imtimidated by the sight. Making him completely forget what a dorm room even was.

Aurvang stared at the clowns that started appearing, letting a chuckle escape as he circled around Reg. Shifting to a snake and simply dropping gently on the ground once he was close enough.

"You are a doofus..." Aurvang mumbled, quickly clearing off his smirk and replacing it with a genuine smile.

"We should try and get you to your room" The snake then spoke, slithering around Reg to try and herd him to the dorms.

"You get to stay a year? Lucky... Can we pretend to be sisters so I can get out of school?"  Coronach joked. Sure it's a Dæmon school, but school still sucks, it wasn't really her choice to come here anyways. Grudgingly she looked up to the school that laid before them "Well I guess we should head in before they get a search party."

"You think we're worthy enough for a search party?" Aligerous snickered

"Sooo…gander?" Neve questioned

Lila sighed softly as she hauled the wheelbarrow down the lawn. "This conversation doesn't leave this space, got it?" She chirped as she glanced about briefly and warily.

After a few more moments, Lorelai seemed contented and glanced back towars Neveah. "I have been here long enough to have figured out a few of the methods they use to keep the children and parents complacent. They want the parents to feel comfortable and at ease. It's all perfromative, really. One such method is spiking the drinks here to induce complacency and concentration in low amounts.... if taken in excessive, well, you've already witnessed that. Because drugging children is a lot easier than dealing with upset parents."

Lila's tone sounded dry and resentful, very different from the typiccal whimsical note her voice takes.

Lila offered no further explanation, nor did she seem inclined to respond to any questions as she once again returned towards the main courtyard and closer within earshot of the other students.

Pulling the Wheelbarrow up amonst the now vacated chairs. Thankfully, Herschell remained slouched in his, wearing a vacant expression.

"Alright, Carrot-Top." Lila folded her arms. "Either you can get inside of this wheelbarrow yourself or I am going to pick you up by your underwear and drop you in. And trust me. You won't like option number two but maybe it will teach your to pull up your blo.ody pants."

Violeta blushed as Heru chuckled.

"No offense Connie, but I don't think you'd pass for a Gyptian. It's only a concession for us since we never stay in one place longer than a few months." Heru explained, gesturing to Violeta as the girl nodded.

"My parents made special arrangements anyways." Violeta added, rubbing the back of her head as they made their way to the dorms

Neveah lingered a few moments after Lila moved on, turning her words over in her head. It...more or less confirmed her own suspicions, honestly. Lila’s explanation, coupled with their own observations of the drink’s effects made it surprisingly easy to accept that the school was routinely drugging its guests.

The possible reasons why were...disturbing, to say the least. Judging by the Dobermanns and their partners onstage earlier, the well as the fact that this school was specifically geared towards dæmons in general, Neve decided that although it was usually mostly the other way around, while they were here she should probably look out for and protect Drishti as well.

Nothing else for it, they couldn’t go home. Her parents wouldn’t believe her and just send her back, distrustful of her dæmon as they were. And there wasn’t really anywhere else they could go, or anything they could do but be careful.

“We’ll have to be really careful,” she sighed to Drishti, unusually using a full sentence instead of the clipped, cut-off words that were the norm between the two of them. As much as she would like to say “What could go wrong?” the last time she’d said that was still fresh in her mind, leaving them with little choice but to stay alert and watch their step.

He dropped his head on hers again and she knew that he’d followed more or less the same thought process. Neve twined the tip of his tail around her finger as she set off again, joining Lila just as she spoke to who she assumed was Herschell.

"Okay... how about we..." Corsen's eyes darted around trying to figure out what to do with the seemingly shellshocked boy, his blue eyes staring at the staircase as if it were far more intimidating than it was. Corsen had no idea how to get the boy to explain where he lived to her.

"Come on," Corsen encouraged, shepherding the boy away from the stairs. She decided to simply take the boy to her own human's room. She knew the situation was not ideal, and that Reg would most likely be angered by her bringing another human into his space, but she figured that was the better alternative to wandering about the place when Kriivthi might stumble down a staircase at any given moment.

Reginald stiffened uncomfortably as the snake slithered around him in a circle along the grass. Reg was still a bit fearful of what he perceived as the 'ghost snake', but a piece of his mind seemed to tell him to follow the animal's suggestion rather than make a run for it like he had from the flying, sheet-like ghosts.

Reg went along towards the castle-like living quarters, though not without grumbling under his breath with angry gibberish about being held hostage.

Maylandi sat patiently as she waited for the infamous wheelbarrow to return, her human lazily cloud watching with the occasional explaination of his visions. Jumping from bunnies, to dragons, to a vague and rather underwhelming version of a creature she wishes to never hear of again. She needed to bring her attention up to the sky to make sure what he was describing actually made sense. The cloud held long humaniod features, somewhat resembling the creature she feared. Now that she was less worried about why such a thought came up, she turned to see the red wheelbarrow be plopped down by his chair.

Herschell gave a lackadaisical smile to Lorelai as she spoke, vaguely hearing her voice in his stupor. But once she finished, Herschell managed to scoop up the drink hiding behind his wolf and get to his feet. Spinning on his heel and falling back into the wheelbarrow as if it was a couch of down feathers. Finishing the drink off with a lax smile, then turning around in the tray to look at the handle, more so searching for a particular carving. Once he found it however, he gave the lilac haired girl a hurtful looking glare at what it was re-etched into.

Kriivthi ended up lightly nodding along, shuffling around where the dæmon wanted him to go. The teen didn't quite know where he was, he was vaguely aware of his surroundings, but wasn't entirely sure where in the building he was.

Aurvang rolled his eyes to Sika and sighed, still herding the ginger towards the dorms.

"Where's your room?" he gently asked, coming up to his side to give him a slightly tilted look.

Corsen received a nod, motivating her to lead Kriivthi down some hallways, twisting and turning until the red panda ended up before a now-familiar door.

"Here we are, can you open it?" Corsen asked the raven-haired human, nodding up to the doorknob out of her reach. If nothing else, she supposed she could shift into her kangaroo form to bring her up to the adequate height to open the passage. But she did not want to unless necessary, unsure if the action would frighten the boy.

"Inside that," Reginald responded vaguely, indicating the castle. He furrowed his eyebrows, able to picture his room but failing to remember the pattern to get there in his current state of mind.

Reg shrugged after a few moments of consideration as if to say, 'Dunno. Your problem, not mine'.

Kriivthi hummed to himself as he stared at the door, inspecting the handle from afar as he tried to remember which way was the right way to turn it. Eventually just pushing himself to turn it either way to see if it would work. Thankfully, the door was unlocked and creaked open without issue, letting the ghostly male slowly poke his head in. His attention immediately catching on the bed, where he instantly floated to and cocooned himself in the blankets.

Aurvang was beginning to wonder if sighing was his new way of breathing, slithering ahead and entering the building. He couldn't hear Corsen around, so he couldn't find a way to ask her for help in the matter. So, instead he sighed once more, and then peered up the stairs, wondering if the ginger was capable of getting up to the third floor.

"Think you can make it up the stairs?" Aurvang asked.

Lorelai smirked down at Herschell's petulant expression after discovering her recent artwork engraved on the handle of the wheelbarrow.

"What?" She cooed as she leaned forward. Her lilac hair pooled down the side of her face and seperating her and Herschell in a curtain of coconut and shea-butter-smelling hair. She moved uncomfortably close to him, her nose tip almost brushing against his. "Were you hoping for something different? Still clinging onto the past?"

With a coy wink, Lorelai straightened up and grasped the handles of the Wheelbarrow. She hoisted the front off the ground and began to roll Herschell back towards the school.

"Once we drop him off, Neve, I am going to need your help in locating Azul. He flew off somewhere." Lila called casually over her shoulder, hoping that Neveah might be able to sense the beat of the butterfly's heart. Or possibly a cat's. Although she doubted that highly. It seemed that Azul was bound to settle in the form of a butterfly, or at least he was trying very hard to.

“I…don’t think I even want to know what the story here is,” Neve hummed, mostly to Drishti but loud enough that the two humans could hear it as well. For lack of anything better to do, she turned around again to trudge after Lila once more.

“Once we drop him off, Neve, I am going to need your help in locating Azul. He flew off somewhere,” the girl called. Despite it not being phrased as a question, Neve decided to treat it like one, thank you very much.

“Uhm...” she paused, considering how to respond. “I assume we’re going to need him to find the other two? I’m happy to give it a shot, but I’m not an antenna. I can’t magically filter out his movements or heartbeat from everything else that’s going on around here. It worked back in the theatre because that was just us and a couple of spiders and mice. And those two up in the vents.”

“Plus, insects are...tiny. Their heartbeat is really soft, I’d have to be pretty close to be able to pick it up at all. What do you normally do when he’s away and you need him?”

That was something she didn’t have any personal experience with. Ever since they bonded, Drishti had stuck to her like glue. It was out of necessity, but she couldn’t say she actually minded. It never felt suffocating, despite – or maybe due to – being so close it often seemed like they could read each other’s minds.

And those two up in the vents.”

"We don't need him per se. But I would like to have him back." Lorelai chirped as she continued to heave Herschell in the wheelbarrow across the courtyard.

“Plus, insects are...tiny. Their heartbeat is really soft, I’d have to be pretty close to be able to pick it up at all. What do you normally do when he’s away and you need him?” Neveah inquired.

"No clue. He always sticks close. Hidden. But close." Lila's voice sounded entirely nonchalant, as if she were not the least bit concerned. A part of her still hoped he would be in her room where she left him, but she doubted that was the case. However, the worry she felt was well hidden underneath the lackadaisical tone.

“We don’t need him per se. But I would like to have him back,” Lila explained, making Neve tilt her head at the oddly possessive wording. Lila made it sound like her dæmon was an object she lost, not half of her soul. She sped up a little, catching up to the wheelbarrow and reaching out to rest her hand on the edge.

“He always sticks close. Hidden. But close,” Lila went on airily.

“Uh-huh,” Neve said, her voice taking on a slight sarcastic edge. ”Well, I’m aware this might be too unrefined an option for you to even consider, but before I start walking around like a satellite dish, could you maybe just try calling him?”

Reginald Eason Pierce | Corsen

For once, Corsen was relieved Reginald had left his door unlocked. While under normal circumstances, the poor habit would inevitably invite issues, this was one time it rendered a situation easier.

Kriivthi wandered into the bedroom, walking past any of of Reg's belongings and immediately bundling himself within the sheets and covers of the bed. Corsen cringed a bit when she thought about Reginald. Assuming she could find him, where would he sleep? Humans were very particular about whom shared their nests. She shook her head, figuring he could just sleep on the floor and she would deal with the imminent complaining the following day.

Corsen shifted from her flamingo form to a red panda, pawing open the door just enough to slip through. She then pushed it closed as far as possible without actually shifting it entirely shut so that she would be able to easily enter again when, or if, she found Reg.

The daemon rushed down the hallway, looking out windows every so often to see if she could make out a certain annoying redhead.

In the meantime, Reginald had just managed to climb the stairs, disappearing to a further floor by the time Corsen raced back out to castle foyer on the first floor in search of him.

The redhead heavily relied on the railing throughout the ascent, having made complete stops to sit down on a stair or sling over the banister when he felt like he might fall down the case. He giggled at the thought, probably much to the annoyance to the daemons that were stuck with him.

"Okay, captain...s," Reginald hiccuped to Aurvang and Sika as an indication to lead the rest of the way, finally stepping onto the third floor, though he wasn't quite sure of the floor number himself. "This is the longest route to my room. Ever taken."

Ithiel Rosaire Seaghdha | Valefar

Sooner than he expected, Ithiel heard the grate faintly creaking. He wasn't sure if it was wise to turn back, worried he'd only scare the kid again. Turning to Valefar, the daemon only shrugged.

"C'mon, Ithy. You know fully well that I trust your judgement in this kind of situation,” the daemon said with narrowed eyes.

"Well," Ithiel shrugged, "You're always welcome to try."

Valefar answered by simply burrowing further into Ithiel's locks, eliciting a chuckle from the human. Ultimately, Ithiel decided that a little peak couldn't hurt and turned back to the vent.

His gaze was immediately drawn to the head poking out. All he saw before was a blur, which meant it was only then Ithiel had a look at the kid. Their round face was framed by short yet fluffy black hair, the bangs mostly covering their eyes. It was quite something he had never seen. He wasn’t sure whether the kid was a boy or a girl, though he supposed it didn’t matter much. What’s important was that he had their interest, even if it was a meager one.

“Um, hi,” he spoke gently, giving a small wave, “Nice to meet you.”

Roku friendship pending

Roku spots the person's retreating back. So he really is leaving. Roku---actually doesn't know how to feel about that. Interesting enough, the person has a pretty unusal wavy longish silver hair and everything that suggest they might have come from wealth. Their proportion are that of the adult but they probably is one of the older teen student. They seem to be talking to something small, a bird? their daemon?

and then the person turned around. and waved a little "Un hi, nice to meet you"

Roku gasped and retreated back a little but not all the way. probably only to establish some personal space (even though the person is well away from where Roku is) Her eyes still lock onto Ithiel with the slight frown as though she's judging or trying to read him. what person he is? what his motivation are? are they male? They sound like one but their hair and looks are quite feminine if not a little sickly. There're the air of gentleness and kindness around them but Roku know better that look can be decieving.

Roku continue to stare and doesn't utter a response.

When the kid recoiled, Ithiel couldn’t help but flinch. Nevertheless, he held his ground even when the younger one seized him up. It wouldn’t do to be scared as well. Either one of them had to press on and judging by the kid’s lack of response, the role naturally fell to him.

His gaze flitted about the area around the vent, only then realizing that the supplies he brought had disappeared. A smile graced his face.

“Oh, I assume you’ve taken care of your wound then? That’s great!” he huffed out a laugh, “I hope it was sufficient. And the muffins too.” He gestured at where the box was placed. “I wasn’t sure what strikes your fancy but I suppose you like both just fine.”

Roku is confused by kindness, please be patient with her

Roku blinked and took her eyes of the man(?) for a second to look at her bandaged her. Yes indeed that what she did, taking care of it.  She flexed it again just to show. The man then began to rambling. Yes Roku does like both the items the man has given to her. Instead of nodding or responding though, Roku kinda wish if this is all the facade he would just drop the act already and out with it what is he actually want. What's the point to all this. Her inner thought might have shown on her expression as her frown deepen couple with a blink almost like to say 'go on...' On top of her usual untrusting skeptic nature, there's also shyness. She wasn't sure what more she could add or start the conversation with this stranger (apart from answeing it in the first place, which she refused for...some reason)

As he went on, Ithiel noticed the kid's frown only deepened as well. He doubted it wasn't that the kid didn't understand him. They did show their bandaged hand when he pointed it out, after all. Perhaps they were still wary then? Although he could mostly only see their head, he could see how guarded their bearing was throughout their one-sided conversation.

"Mayhap you would feel more at ease if I were to introduce myself? Well, I should do it either way, it's only polite. I'm Ithiel Rosaire Seaghdha- um," he chuckled nervously, raising his hand to partially cover his face, "Apologies, I suppose my full name doesn't matter. You can call me Ithiel."

He reached to his braid, parting the locks to reveal Valefar. The daemon lightly pecked his fingers, displeased that he was disturbed. Nevertheless, Valefar turned to the kid, scrutinizing them from where he was perched. "And this is Valefar, my daemon. You must be bonded to one too, I presume?"

Sorry for the weird replying! Forums being a pain.

Sika followed Aur and Reg, trying his best to herd he human in the direction Aur was herding him. They reached the stairs and started up them... Slowwlllyyyy.

'Where we taking him?' Sika asked Aur. Reg answered the question for himself. 'Uhhh, do you know where his room is? Because I don't.'

Well, he was going to help, but it was the person he had taken an immediete dislike to who came to Hersh's rescue. Jach slipped further away, far enough to not be in on the action but close enough to watch and help the ginger is needed.

"Were you hoping for something different? Still clinging onto the past?" Herschell gave a half roll of his eyes as she picked him up.

"Was kinda hoping you'd be more creative than that... but. Guess you're not as unpredictable as I thought" the ginger smiled, letting it fall as her and this new girl started conversing. Deciding to reposition himself to stare at the sky again, waiting to just stop at what he'd assume would be his room. However, he started thinking about how he was getting up the stairs as he was sure Lila would just leave him at the bottom of them.

"I have no idea" Aurvang admitted to Sika in a hushed tone, nearly tripping Reg into the door to open it then lead him down the hallway to a familiar dorm room door.

"But, I at least know of a room he could stay in without getting hurt..." Aurvang cooed, then looked to Sika with a look that seemed to question his statement.

"Well.. Not too much hopefully" He added, remembering Kriivthi's room is full of random projects made with metal or wood, and had many electronical parts to them. Aurvang remembered how secretative the boy was about it, and would probably get a deathly glare from his human once he finds out. But, he didn't quite see any other options at the moment. The snake stopped in front of a door and stared at the ginger, then pointed to it with his nose and confirmed it was this room he should enter.

Suceed! Roku friendship lv is now 2

It works! The best way to not be the stranger is to introduce their name. that and the curiosity got the better of her too with his weird sounding name(to her). Roku wished he has a little less condescending way of talking to her though.

She blinked, cocking her head to one side a little and tried to say it. testing how it sounds "It--ti-eru? Ittieru?"

Her voice is very squeaky and rasped like it was unused. It's something you wouldn't expect to come out from the groomy face like her but also something you'd expect to come out of a small child.

Unfortunately the magic doesn't last long as it was immediatally break when Ithiel brought up daemon and ask about hers. First of, of course people here are only care about daemons, she should have known. Second, the earlier hatred fro Yagi biting her hand coming back at force. She narrowed her eyes and retreat back fully into the vent fast.

But she did answer Ithiel. In the almost out-of-character honest and revealing way.

"I wish it didn't!" she bit out

Reg frowned at the snake when he almost stumbled over its tail. He heard the two daemons exchange some brief words, but he was not too sure of what was being discussed.

Aurvang slithered along the third-floor hall before pausing beneath a particular door. Reginald stood there dumbfounded before realizing he was meant to open it. His frown deepened; he did not recall his door being situated here.

Reg grasped the doorknob in his hand, jiggling it around, but it did not open. Reg scowled, knowing he had not locked the door earlier when he'd left.

The boy backed up, bringing one foot up into the air. It took Reg a moment to stabilize himself on one foot, but once he did he kicked the area near the doorknob and the frame a few times. The force behind the punts weakened the lock, allowing the door to swing in. Now the latch was majorly busted, but Reginald was just happy to have gotten the door open.

The redhead entered the room, glaring against the darkness as he tried to make out unfamiliar shapes and failing to identify them. He shuffled into the room, almost throwing himself down where he was expecting the bed to be but catching himself right before falling onto the bare floor.

"Who moved the d.amn bed?!" Reginald complained, feeling around until he finally felt a nearby mattress. The sheets felt oddly different than he was expecting, but the boy landed on top and passed out almost immediately.

Lorelai -18- |Azul -Dæmon-|

"Uh-huh,” Neve said, her voice taking on a slight sarcastic edge. ”Well, I’m aware this might be too unrefined an option for you to even consider, but before I start walking around like a satellite dish, could you maybe just try calling him?”

Lorelai chuckled at Neve's terse response. "You're free to just say no." She shrugged a bit and tilted her chin up. "Azul! You there?!"

No response.

"See?" Lila hummed. "I can usually sense when he is around. He isn't. Either way, it isn't my current priority. He is."

Lorelai wheeled Herschell towards the base of the stairs, parking it along side the first step.

Taking a moment to contemplate her  next action, she appraised Herschell. She disliked the idea of dragging him up the stairs by his ankles because it would be entirely unrefined behaviour (she had little consideration towards his well being).  As would carrying him in any way.  Even though she was perfectly capable as he was fairly skinny and her years of gymnastics had made her quite strong.

Miss Stanton often complained about her getting 'too bulky' for a woman. So she was forced to cut back on strength training.  But Lila was sure she could manage.

And she did promise Maylandi she would take care of it.

Sighing in resignation,  Lorelai pinched the bridge of her nose. "If you have gained weight, I will throttle you." She flicked Herschell across the nose.

And with that statement, she unceremoniously hoisted him up, throwing his top half over her shoulder like a hunter carrying a fresh kill. Letting his legs drop across her torso, Lorelai lifted with her knees, straining as she lifted him up.

It was probably the most demeaning way she could have chosen to carry him.... which is why she opted for it instead of bridal style. It also based most of his weight on her shoulders which were much stronger than her biceps.

Herschell groaned and grunted as Lila picked him up, not at all surprised by the strength she showed. His loss of weight over the last few months may have actually helped the girl in carrying him in the end. But, he wasn't going to mention anything about that, in case the girl thought it was due to her, not like he'd admit it if it was. Instead, he boredly looked to his dæmon following them up the stairs, giving him an amused look. Almost saying 'you deserve this' with the smirk that painted her face, earning a defeated glare from the ginger that practically agreed with her. More hoping there wasn't too many people on their way to his room, however the stares he got from a trio bypassing them made his face red with embarrasment, accentuated by his bright red hair. Now just hoping that it died down enough before they got to his room, he had four floors to wipe the redness off his face anyways.

Aurvang let out another sigh as he heard Reg go on about his bed being moved, but he eventually did find the bed. After listening to the soft breathing indicate he was sleeping he went back to the door, noticing the latch that was sitting in the threshold. Once again, sighing with a shake of his head then slithering out, the door slightly closing back on its own.

"Come on... we should go find his dæmon and my 'ghost'" He boredly spoke to Sika. Wondering where they could of gone.

Lorelai moved quickly up the stairs despite Herschell being slung unceremoniously over her shoulder, and she did it all in heels.  Really she was quite proud with herself, and her heart rate was pounding by the time she had ascended the first flight.

This was an incredibly good workout, actually.  She might have to borrow Herschell more often, not that he would ever agree to it. It was still an amusing thought.

Three students passed them by as Lila began her second ascent, staring at Herschell with wide eyes. A smirk toyed acores Lorelai's lips momentarily.

While still in their viewpoint, she reached up and popped Herschell on the rump to get his attention. "Oy."

That action sent a volley of giggles from the students as she passed.

She was enjoying this entirely too much.

"So, what have we learned today?" Lila cooed at Herschell innocently.

“If you have gained weight, I will throttle you,” Lorelai informed a still-stuporous Herschell, just before hoisting him up and over her shoulder. Since they evidently were on such friendly terms, Neveah opted to stay outside while Lila delivered him to his room, his dæmon trotting after them.

She settled down at the foot of the stairs, leaning against the wall on one side to ponder Lila’s request.

“Should say no,” Drishti said, sliding off and curling up beside her.

“Should,” she agreed with a sigh. She had just explained to Lila that her vibration-sensing ability was more limited, in both range and precision, than sound. Of course, she could use sound manipulation to enhance Lorelai’s voice and have it carry further, but the lack of response so far, coupled with Lila’s seeming nonchalance, made her feel like Azul didn’t want to be found. If the two were fighting, she wasn’t sure she wanted to get in the middle of it.

All the same, she might as well give it a shot now. It wasn’t as if she had anything better to do. And even in the unlikely case she did find the butterfly, she still had the choice of whether or not to tell the girl.

She leaned her head back and put both hands against the stone, focusing on what the vibrations were telling her. Drishti’s heartbeat next to her, people inside the building and around the grounds. The varying heartbeats and movements of their dæmons in different forms. Lila’s heels pounding the stairs, her heartbeat racing. Herschell’s much slower one, and his dæmon’s footsteps. The occasional mouse skittering around. Birds in the trees. The trees themselves. Insects. Unnatural, man-made vibrations. And all of it mashed together, forming a cacophony that made it near impossible for her to pick out what was what. Let alone find one tiny butterfly.

Neve raised her head and pulled her hands in, leaving only her feet as major source of input. Whether Drishti read her expression or had been using his power himself, he put his head on her knee and said “Nothing.”

She hummed in agreement. Of course, that didn’t mean Azul wasn’t around. It was very possible his vibrations had been somewhere in the mass and she just hadn’t recognized them. Or, as she’d told Lila, he could be too far away for her to pick up. Or in the air.

Absently stroking Drishti’s smooth scales and enjoying the sun on her face, Neve wondered what was going on with Lorelai and her dæmon. If her theory of them fighting was correct, what about? Who was at fault? From there her thoughts slid to the school. What did they want with dæmons? And why? If it was the powers they were interested in, what lengths would they go to to achieve their goals?

"That you're still a witch." Herschell replied flatly.

Lila laughed. "And you're still a dumba.ss."

Lorelai continued up the stairs, she was definitely really pushing it by the third level, her breath coming out in short labourous bursts. Either by sheer stubborn will power or magic, she had managed to prevent herself from working up a serious sweat, and instead glistened a bit as she ascended the fourth level.

Her shoulder ached and her legs were screaming at her with each step, sending trembling muscle spasms across her calf. She was not having fun. But she also refused to let anyone else know that she was struggling and conquered the final rise out of sheer spite.

Lila denied the urge to cheer as she finally hit the fourth floor and instead stalked onwards, her brow twitching in irritation as she stormed down the hall. She knew exactly where to go to his room having visited it enough times herself to get there in her sleep. Lorelai approached the door and lifted her leg up, opening the handle expertly with her foot. She shouldered her way into the room, "accidentally" jostling Herschell against the doorframe.

Then she promptly threw him onto his bed, trying to avoid being puked on. Her form slacking slightly with the exhuastion and sudden relief of the weight.

Glancing around the space, Lorelai's eye twitched as she resisted the urge to clean it up. It with filfthy. At least by her standards.

Sucking in another breath, Lorelai reached into her basket and threw croissant at Herachell's face. "You need to eat more." She mumbled and then spun on her heels. She paused in the doorframe to cast a glance down at Maylandi. Her glower softened into a slight smile. "I know you'll take good care of him." She dipped her head respectfully towards the dæmon before exiting the room and shutting the door softly behind her.

Herschell grunted and groaned as he was knocked into the threshold, sending a glare to the purple hair of the girl before being tossed on the bed. Still trying to stable his sight by time a croissant landed on his face. The ginger managed to pull himself up to his elbows and hold the food in his hand as the girl started walking away.

"Thanks, but you're still a witch with the pitch of a bloody b.itch" He sang, falling back down on the bed. Maylandi rolled her eyes to Herschell's comment then nodding a thank you to the ex, trotting into the room as the door closed and then watched as Herschell dropped the croissant on the ground. Rolling in his blankets and passing out. Maylandi sighed a quiet breath then ate the discarded food and cuddled up to the ginger's back.

"If only I had that power." Aligerous churred "I can make you quieter! But really, we should at least try to like it!"

"Aligerous, have you been bitten by the modest and optimistic bug?" Coronach raised an eyebrow, unsure if she liked her dæmon's new attitude.

"And hey... there's cereal in there."
