Book suggestions?
I have come to the conclusion that I spend WAY too much time online (recently discovered Vanoss, H20, etc.. on youtube)... oops lol
I am currently compiling a list of books to read but I can't really find any that completely grab my interests-here's where I need help. I absolutely ADORE science fiction: Illuminae Files, Ready Player One, Armada, and Maze Runner are all my go to books and are complete works of art (I'm forgetting a ton of other books I've read but you know...background information). Any science-fiction suggestions? Other other book suggestions that you happen to enjoy?
Please help :3
If you're into young adult, sci-fi, and dragons, I'd definitely recommend Dragonriders of Pern (by Anne McCaffrey)! I've only read the first 3 books, but they are very well written. Plus dragons! :D
You can try reading the inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini. It a book about dragon and their rider who form bonds and have magic. Personally, this is my favourite fantasy book since it tackles social issue. The first book is Eragon (if you have watched the movie, scrap the thought out since the book is way better and more thrilling) the the second book is Eldest, then Brisingr and the last is Inheritance (which made my cry the most).

If you're into science fiction, I'd recommend Brandon Sanderson's books. One example of his books is 'Reckoners'.
1. Eragon aka the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini (he started writing them when he was 15!)
2. Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling
3. Wings of Fire by Tui T Sutherland
4. Warriors by Erin Hunter (a little long and the first book is hard to get through but after that I think it's great)
5. How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell (for obvious reasons.)
Sci-fi is definitely one of my favourite genres. It's cool to see someone else who likes it, too! It's very rare to see sci-fi lovers on here.
I'll recommend Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy if you're into comedy sci-fi and lighter reads. They're really good.
For the heavier (but not longer per sé) reads, I recommend these absolute classics if you haven't read them already:
Foundation
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Dune
Flow my Tears, the Policeman Said
Solar Lottery
Eye in the Sky
A Scanner Darkly
Neuromancer
1984
All of these are very far from YA though. I'm too old shdjgjhdsf GOMENASAI
I haven't seen the play so I have no idea, sorry!
To Sleep In A Sea Of Stars by Christopher Paolini is a great sci-fi book! He's the author of Eragon. This, of course, is his first adult book and its bigger than Inheritance! Now just an fyi, there is a lot of language, which is why its an adult book lol and he did a LOT of research! You want sci-fi this is IT.
Rangers Apprentice by John Flanagan (hilarious series! And he wrote Brotherband Chronicles which does collab with Rangers Apprentice but I highly recommend reading Rangers Apprentice first!)
The Hunger Games (wish I remembered the author name!)
The Last Apprentice (forgot the author name too.) I'm gonna say that's a sci-fi because it has ghosts, witches, and so on.
I LOVE The Maze Runner! Wonderfully written but what happens to a certain character in the last book I got SO mad I threw the book at a wall :( do you skip that page too?
Let's see, I don't know what you might be into but I do have a list
-Animorphs series by K.A Applegate (sci-fi series with 54 main titles and 11 extra stories, its long but each book is pretty short, coming at 100 pages each book, give or take, pretty easy to read too, and even tho is technically a children's series its very easy to enjoy as an adult too. Yes the covers are like that...)
-Coraline by Neil Gaiman (short book, also for children but easy to enjoy as adult, its technically horror, but its for children, so its tamer, but still very creepy)
-Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter (this one might be harder to read, because it has way too many characters, way too many books, and its also a little bit violent and sad, and its with cats so.. even worse, but its interesting)
-Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan (and pretty much any books series by Riordan, especially if you like greek mithology)
-Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo (a children's book, but its very sweet and I love it)
-The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell (if you like horror books)
-The Raven Boys series by Maggie Stievfater (young adult, has romance but even I enjoyed it and I absolutely hate romantic young adult books lol)
-The Golden Compass series by Philip Pullman (they're long and kind of hard to read, but really interesting, especially the second book)
-The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (I don't qualify it as a hard to read book, but it has some heavy themes, and if you're specially sensitive to certain topics it could be potentially triggering but it is really good)
-All American Boys by Jason Raynolds and Brendan Kiely (very similar to the hate u give, but still just as good, this books made me cry)
-This Savage Song and Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab (not my cup of tea, but it does have an interesting premise, young adult with romance, like most young adults unfortunately lol)
-City of Ghosts and Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab (girl can see ghosts, haven't read it yet so I can't speak for it, but does sound cool)
-The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankestein by Kiersten White (horror, retelling of Frankestein)
-Good Omens by Neil Gaiman (If you saw the show and liked it, the book is also fun)
-Tunnels series by Roderick Gordon (interesting premise, but it kind of falls flat on the last books, read at your own discretion lol)
-Pretty much every Neil Gaiman book, he has hundreds, and they range from fantasy to sci-fi, and a bunch of other topics
And that's pretty much every book I remember at the moment lol, hope at least one of these caughts your attention
Scott Westerfeld's "Uglies" series. Science fiction, set in the future, flawed utopia. I fell in love with it, my favorite book series to this day! Would highly recommend. I also read an article years ago that they were planning to make a movie off it, but since it's been so long and still hasn't come into fruition, I'm skeptical it'll ever happen...
I totally suggest wings of Fire. That book series is AWESOME. It's like 18 books, not including graphic novels, which there are 6 soon. It's dragons and prophecies ALL THE WAY. So check it out.
WINGS OF FIRE FAN FOR LIFE!!!!!
Yes I too agree Wings of Fire is great though I am more of fantasy and adventure fan but maze runner!? I have been waning to read that! Also, Dune might interest you? I dk it might just a suggestion.
Ooooooooo I just looked it up and it seems very interesting. I'm very much getting HTTYD vibes which is always a 10/10
