The Best Battle Event Dragon
The seastormer is unequivocally the BEST battle event dragon.
I never really understood how broken this dragon is until the went on sale and I bought one myself. when it comes to battle events, I used to use a scauldron and attack the boat normally by flying back to recharge. I normally placed towards the lower end of gold (usually 4th-8th place) and there were many times where I barely made the cutoff between gold and silver. While I did consistently get gold, I would get silver if there were a lot of campers during the event. "camping" refers to staying at the recharge zone and shooting the boat from up there. I was never a camper as I found it too hard to aim the scauldrons tiny skinny shots at the boat and would miss all the time.
everything changed when I got the seastromer....
what makes it so good are 3 main things:
first is its shot rate. this is the natural rate at which you rechage shots (note that being in the recharge zone does not make this any faster). the seastromer shoots pretty fast, meaning that while another dragon may shoot a fire ball every 2-3 seconds, a seastromer can get in double the shots in the same period of time. Not to mention it's range is great for camping, meaning that you aren't held back by the 6 shot limit.
second is the shot damage. The seastromer may only deal 9 damager per shot, but actually shoots 2 lightning balls at once. This totals to 18 damage per shot (assuming you hit both). Combined with the fast shot rate, this is a lot of damage per second. I've heard that the seastromer crits more often, however I don't know if that's true or not.
Finally, the lighning balls that the seastromer shoots are really big, meaning that it's harder to miss the boat. I suck at camping, but when i tried it with the seastromer, I got first place, first try while missing my shots 1/4 of the time.
This dragon is insane. Once you figure out how to aim with it, camping at the rechange zone guarantees first place, unless there are other seastromers (or just really tanlented campers).
The reason this is important is due to the fact that getting gold in battle events means a better chance at getting gems. For new players who are considering saving for a dragon, the seatromer is an investment that really pays off. I found that the average difference between my first place scores and those of 2nd place (who did not use a seastromer) differ by at least 400-500 points. That is a massive difference which drives home how unbalanced this dragon is.
The downside is that the seastromer is pretty expensive and will cost you 1000 gems. The good news is that you can make it up assuming you know how to camp. I'd argue that camping is somewhat of a skill, as you have to manually aim the shots yourself and you cant just press buttons and expect it to work. It may also depend on the device. I play on my laptop so the way I do it is by holding down the down arrow key and letting go. When I see that the head(s) of my dragon align with the boat, I press the fire button. Its all about timming and finding that rhythm. I'm not sure how the seastromer preforms when you don't camp, I'm assuming it does ok, but you may not guarantee gold.
So if you know how to camp, and you're considering buying a new dragon, seastromer may be the way to go!
Here's my seastromer: Coulomb and Volt. I got them recently, but they have already hit level 26 from battle events only! Another plus for the seastromer is their model is pretty nice.
I have a Seastormer (it will be a year when Thawfest starts) I agree that it is good for the method of shooting from the tower and it always takes 1 place. So I definitely recommend Seastormer for Battle events
Definitely agree, but you could also buy a razorwhip for half the price of a seastormer. They have a shot-limit of 10 and they give 19 damage each shot. Not the best camping dragon, but has somewhat speed so you can fly to the recharge station and back in-time for at least one more shooting (unless battle-event is very... crowded?). Aaaaaand if you'd much rathor save up for an expansion, there is the melody island expansion that gives you a baby deathsong and a razorwhip egg, so that's a win! Just to clear things up, I'm not disaggreeing, I'm helping the poor people (that sounds offensive, yet I'm one of those in-game 'poor people' as I so kindly put it)
I'm about events, I help win events. I'll do half of them and then half of them to make it fair.
i usually switch to mobile for battle events because it's easier for me to aim that way! i'm definitely a camper lol, my Scauldron, Skipper, has the longest neck and is easy to aim on mobile if i position her the right way. ^^
