Adventurous Appreciation
Hello everyone! DragonLover43 here with something a little different. I'm going to be doing a joint fan fiction with Autumn5467. This idea was inspired by the roleplay Looking for Love by xXHallaXx.
Synopsis:
Not long after the defeat of Drago, Nina, Hiccup's sister, met a boy from another island. After being friends, they begin a relationship. What will their future hold? Have they found their soulmates? Or will this seemingly happy couple end in pain, heartbreak, and sorrow for both?

CHAPTER 2
(Trey)
I leaned over my broad dragon and looked up at the sky. I had thought I had heard something. Maybe I was imagining things, just maybe.
I watched Hiccup intently, remembering the day I met him. Truth be told, we had become friends. Fire Prince enjoyed Toothless's company and quite fairly, the two of them had become stuck to eachother. Although, at first Fire Prince didn't quite like the reign of another dragon before him, he had come to accept that this wasn't home and that once we were okay, my sister and I would soon be leaving back to Outcast Island.
"So I think we will stay until the time is right." I said to Hiccup, patting my dragon on the head, "I do think you understand the method of family."
I knew Hiccup had lost his father by now. I wasn't all to fairly acquainted with the rest of his family, but I did know how much it hurt to lose someone. My mother and father had both died in an accident.
But Hiccup felt like someone I could trust. A brother. Like I had said, I had never been in Valka's custody long enough to get to know her. And Hiccup's adopted sister...
Nina. That was her name. He had talked about her alot. I practically knew her whole life's story by now. I hadn't really talked or spent time with her, but she was very beautiful. Of course, I knew I couldn't possibly date her. I was an outsider. Plus of what ranking was I to date the chief's sister? It seemed almost impossible. I kept the thought deep down inside and rarely, almost never thought about it.
"So yes. I think if you do not mind, we will stay in our hut in the woods for a few years, and then when the time is right, pack up? It's up to you." I state.
Chapter 4
(Trey's POV)
I glanced up at Hiccup at the mention of Nina, and snapped back into reality.
"Yeah. I mean, she's beautiful..." I stuttered for a second, "But I have barely spent time with her, gotten to know her, and rarely seen her. Plus, if we did date, I wouldn't want to break her heart to leave."
Hiccup seemed like he knew I was thinking about Nina. I needed to stop doing that...
"Other than that, she sounds like a seemingly nice person. I don't count myself worthy of her attention though. She's probably interested in someone anyways."
I tried to divert the attention away from Nina for a second. I adjusted a saddle I had made for Fire Prince a while back. Then I glanced over at Toothless's and rolled my eyes. My sister was terrible at stitching. Hiccup's looked like it was done by a pro.
Toothless didn't seem to find himself more worthy over Prince. He merely sniffed over him about a thousand times when they had met. My dragon didn't seem diverted because of a saddle either. He was more worried about keeping himself in check.
Chapter Six
(Trey's POV)
I start to say something about my saddle, but Toothless nosedives towards a cliff. Fire Prince lunges backwards, and folds his wings neatly. He starts to fly downwards, picking up speed.
I hold on to the back of my leather jacket to keep it from blowing off. My hair flies in all directions.
"Woah, bud..." I say, as we start to catch up to Hiccup. I land on the rocky grown, and look at Hiccup. "So what are you doing??" I ask.
I try to flatten my hair, but it springs up again. Fire Prince laughs from under me.
"Oh and about my saddle, yeah my sis made it. She's terrible at being a seamstress. Don't go to her to hem anything." I laugh.
Trey's POV
(Chapter 7 )
~~~~~~~
I lean over to reach FP's horns, and nod. "I completely understand. FP wears out his tail alot. Of course you don't have to worry about that all too much.." I glance over at Toothless's half tail.
My dragon growls from under me, and lifts up his wings, as wind blows over us, and something flies by. I watch the clouds, panting as I search the skies from whatever just flew by.
Trey
(CHAPTER 9)
I leaned low on Fire Prince.
"Oh." I said. "That's great."
I had to admit, Nina was pretty cool. Maybe we could hang out sometime. My face turned redder and redder at the thought of her, so I quickly distracted myself with adjusting my cuffs. I careened FP to follow straight behind Hiccup. The sun was close to setting, and I didn't feel like going home.
"Have some out here we could possibly spend the night at?" I asked him.
CHAPTER 11
I grin and follow Hiccup onto the platform. A small Terrible Terror meets us at the door. I almost jump as it starts talking in human language. Then I remember Hiccup telling me about Herby. Yeah. That was his name.
"Oh great Hiccup. Can't wait to see how this ends." I say, laughing. I always got in trouble with my sister. I can see where he's coming from.
I hop off of Fire Prince, and look around. This place was nicely built, and tucked away safely. It was a cute little shelter. I liked it. And so did FP.
He sniffed the air, before jumping up. I told him to get down before he knocked something over with his large wings and tail.
He sauntered back over to my side, grinning goofishly.
"Dork." I muttered, but he smacked me with a wing.
Trey's POV
Chapter 13
~~~~~~
"Woah!" I say, backing up as the glob of liquid smashes into Hiccups shirt. I pull the chair back. FP scratches his nose in an attempt to get the smell out or something.
I glance over at Nina. "Not cool. He's gonna be staying here tonight. We both are. Not sure if you want this place to stink or not." I laughed.
Hiccup looked disgusting. "I'm so glad my sister doesn't think up this stuff." I said, "Otherwise I would be smelling like that forever."
I used a pinched finger to bring my shirt up to my nose. I let out a muffled laugh as Fire Prince started growling.
"So yeah." I said, "Like I told you, I think we're gonna stay here tonight, if that's okay with you."
Chapter 15
Trey's POV
~~~~~~~
I was still holding my nose with my shirt, as I stepped aside to let Hiccup get cleaned up. I chuckled at his face. He didn't look very amused. He apologized, before walking away to the bathroom.
I undo my shirt and still smell a very faint scent. FP uncovers his nose.
I nod to Nina. "It's a very nice place you have." I say. I click my toungue and motion for FP to follow behind me. He sits up and follows, eyeing Herby every five seconds.
I watch Nina closely. Once more I am shocked about how beautiful she is. Her hair is beautiful, her eyes are beautiful, and she smelled good. She had a nice smile too. Hiccup had a beautiful sister.
I shook my head to stop thinking about it, and focus on the rooms ahead and on what Nina was saying.
Chapter 17
Trey's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I paid close attention as Nina explained everything to me. I nodded. I especially loved the library. It seemed like a good place to visit.
The flaps of my brown leather jacket lifted up as Nina brushed by me. I felt myself blush barely. Then we both caught eachother's eye, and I had to turn my face to hide embarrassment.
I could hear Hiccup muttering above us, ans Nina reached up to pull on a vine, sending resting water pouring onto Hiccup's head. I held back a laugh as the soaking-wet Hiccup stumbled out of his room.
Nina, not wanting to get into any of this, left for her bedroom. I called "Goodnight! Thanks!" After her.
I sighed, and walked past the now-dripping Hiccup, flashing a smile, before heading down the hallway towards the room with the giant hammock. It seemed nice.
I could hear FP's footsteps behind me, and I waited for him to get inside before shutting the door. I eyed the hammock, and took off my leather jacket, reavealing a plain white T-shirt, and placed the jacket aside. FP made his way to a cozy corner, patting the ground a few times before rolling over. After a while I could see the rolling of his back in coordination to his breathing. He was asleep.
I sigh, and lay down. The hammock swung as I tossed around. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't fall asleep. My eyes popped open.
I got up, and quietly tip-toed over to a lamp-lit torch on the wall. I took it down, and creaked the door open, checking on FP.
I started to walk down the hallway, and turned into the library. I started to take a book off of the shelf, and put the torch up on the wall.
I settled in the corner and flipped the pages, yawning slightly.
(Ooops)
CHAPTER 19
Trey's POV
~~~~~~~~
I turn and watch Nina, suprised as her shadow casts on the wall being the bookshelf.
I grab the book from her, placing the other one back on the shelf. "Thanks." I whisper. "Sorry if I woke you up, by any chance."
I sit back down in my corner, as she leaves down the hall. I sigh.
I sit back and relax. I remember this story. Hiccup and the Bewilderbeast. My face saddens at the thought of Hiccup loosing his dad. I remember my mom and dad. It feels like they're still here watching over us.
I remember my parents wanted us to stay with our cousins, but Berk feels like the place for us right now. Spine told me she loved it. After all I was in a coma the first three weeks. By the time I had even woken up, Spine had herself a house, dragon, and a story to tell.
I smiled. Spine loved Vypor. He was just a little baby when he had a disease. It looked somewhat to down-syndrome or something. He kept shaking left and right. Truthfully, his mind is still not the same. Spine had to take him in and he almost died one day after another seizure.
And then FP. I had found him in the woods. He was smart and strong and matched my personality. I think everyone had a match to a dragon.
But Berk. I couldn't leave this place, could I? What if I could stay here?
I read some more, before falling asleep in the corner.
Chapter 21
Trey's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up the next morning. My head was throbbing and my neck was strained from position. I was laying with my head on the opened book, and my legs curled up. I closed the opened book, making the bind go back to normal position. I placed it in the black gap from where Nina had gotten it last night.
I remember hearing soft faint crying last night. I must have been dreaming.
I stand up and walk around. No one is in the kitchen. And a flood of sunlight is filtered in through the windows and openings. I yawn. No one seems to be awake.
I slowly, carefully make it back to my room. I can hear snores from Hiccup's room upstairs.
I walk into my room, trying not to make the floorboards creak. I see Fire Prince, slumped over asleep. Trying not to wake him up, I turn my back to him, and close the door, slowly, but when I turn around, I see my Night Fury standing in my face, with a goofy grin on.
I almost yell, but I remember the other two, asleep.
"What are you doing?! Prince!" I stammer. "Dude, You are going to wake them up."
I lean over and shove the night furies head out of my face. He bounds around the room making even more noice. I motion for him to lie down, and he does...
For about five seconds.
He gets up and bounds over to me, as I stare out the window. The sun lifts out of the canopy of trees.
"BE QUIET!!!" I hiss. The dragon justs goes over and sits in the corner, lfting his head to see the birds outside.
(Lol Really dont feel like replying to the rp right now. Think I'll just continue with this.)
Chapter 23
Trey
~~~~~~~
I heard a knock along with a muffled "Breakfast is ready!" from Nina. I spun around, and Fire Prince's ears stuck up.
"No--" I yelled, but he hard already bounded through the door, and out to the kitchen, screeching to a stop before he could knock into anything.
I checked the door. It was fine. Maybe a few dragon claw marks.
"Great FP. They're never gonna have us over again you mor.on." I muttered as I shut the door and made my way into the kitchen.
"Sorry about that. Someone woke up entergetic." I shot my dragon a glare. He sat there, happily looking out the window with his toungue sticking out. I rolled my eyes and sat down, calling my lousy dragon over to the bottom of my chair where he could break nothing.
I rubbed his head in silence.
"So did you sleep well last night?" I asked Nina. Hiccup was probably eating his breakfast in bed.
Chapter 25:
(Treys POV)
I grumble at Fire Prince, and kick him back under the table. I occaisionally throw food to him, careful of what dragons eat and don't eat.
"Next time, maybe you won't bound into the kitchen." I say. He gives me a look. Once again, our typical Fire-Prince/Trey relationship.
I gulp down the delicious food that Nina puts in front of me in a matter of seconds and turn to her.
"Well, that's good. I slept all right, after my trip to the library last night." I wink at her, and set my utensils down on the table.
Prologue:
I sat on the roof of our house, keeping Hiccup company as he repaired a few holes from where the Bewilderbeest's ice had broken through the house. We'd already replaced the logs in the front, making the place ready for the upcoming winter. As he hammered in the last nail, another Night Fury flew in low with gorgeous red and orange markings. My brother missed the nail entirely when he noticed the other dragon. He hit his thumb and yelped, hugging it to his stomach and growling something between dragon curses and people curses.
The dragon landed and it was then we both realized it had a rider. We exchanged glances then jumped down, making our way quickly to the town square, where the Night Fury had settled. As we approached, I instinctively took inventory of what we had on us to defend ourselves then mentally noted what I saw on the rider and dragon for weaponry.
"Hello," Hiccup said, taking the lead. I blinked, startled from my thoughts.
"Hello," replied the rider taking off his helmet to reveal hair that seemed to have a life of its own, dancing freely at the slightest breeze. It looked like it was made of fire itself. The next thing I noticed were his eyes. "This is Berk, I assume?"
"You presume correctly," my brother replied. "I'm Chief Hiccup, son of S-Stoick the Vast, and this is my sister, Nina."
"Pleasure to make your aquaintence," I said extending a hand on reflex.
"Same to you," the rider acknowledged, shaking my offered hand. "My name is Trey, and this is Fire Prince."
"Where do you hail from, Trey?" Hiccup asked. Something about his tone made me glance at him. His demeanor hinted to me that he was hoping Trey would be a good friend of his that was around his age. "We've never seen you here before."
"I was born and raised on an island far from Berk, but my family was forced to flee," he started. "We ended up staying with my cousins on Outcast Island before the same thing that chased us from our home found us again. My sister, Spinefin, and I were the only survivors." His eyes burned with a fire that I recognized. It was the same flame that shone in Hiccup's eyes when I was threatened or challenged. It was the sign of a brother's love.
Chapter 1:
A few weeks later, Trey and Hiccup flew off to discuss something, and I secretly tailed them after informing Toothless so he didn't screech at Darrien and I.
"Remember, my sweet one," I murmured to Darrien as I leaned over to speak to him. "Keep out of sight, and stick to the clouds if they go over the ocean." It was an overcast day, but didn't look like rain. We flew along at a good clip and I could occasionally hear Hiccup and Trey laugh at something or other. Oh how I longed to just fly alongside them without beign told off by my brother. He hadn't had a friend from another island since Heather. I smiled gently.
Trey had told us that he and Fire Prince had been staying on Berk without our knowledge, in a large hut that was seemingly abandoned. He and his sister had lost their parents while fleeing a massive Monstrous Nightmare that seemed to have been lit by bright green fire. He had been wounded and spent a while with Gothi recovering. He and his Night Fury had been a bonded pair for a long time.
Darrien stopped suddenly, catching me off-guard. I started as I was thrown against his neck. I leaned over. Hiccup and Trey were directly below us. If either of them, or their dragons, looked up now, we would be spotted. I nudged my Nadder back until we were in the safety of the cloud-cover once again.
