“Will you please get this thing off?” Myr heard softly from behind her. She looked over her shoulder to see Maikela standing there, a slightly pained expression on her face.

“Why – is he bothering you?” Myr asked innocently, yet she turned around to face the girl nonetheless. Riya had just announced they were going up to the Air and Fire areas in a few minutes, and glancing at the cable cars she’d rather have Tharn with her than with Maikela.

Plus, they were surrounded by the others now and as much as she enjoyed pestering Maikela, she decided to spare the girl the humiliation of letting too many people see her wearing Tharn like a squishy hat.

So she increased Tharn’s density for a second, not enough to immobilize him but just enough to let Maikela feel as if her head had just been soaked in water. The temporary dip in density was her signal for Tharn to come to her, and he obeyed, gathering himself into a ball on top of Maikela’s head and jumping onto her outstretched hand, leaving the pink and blue hair as dry and clean as he had found it.

“Good boy,” she purred softly, settling him on her shoulder and smiling as he crawled against her neck, seeming content to stay there for the time being.

"That sounds wonderful!" Tirali said in response to her friend's offer. "I don't think he'd mind a few treats." Kyra then mentioned her grandma had her own dragon, making Tirali realize something. "So, um, since your grandma has one, do you know what kind of stuff water dragons eat?" she questioned, moving slowly towards the next area.

"They eat fish mostly. But they will eat other foods like lamb, chicken, that sort of thing for variety. Cinnamon particularly enjoys salmon, perch and trout. I'll see what I can rustle up. Has Silverscale ever had fish before? If so, what kinds does he like?" Kyra asked, wanting to make sure she got the treats that Silverscale liked on the first try instead of wasting food with trial and error

The group began moving once again towards the elevator. The metal doors of the machine were already open for the tour. Once grounded, the springy metal of the doors could be folded to one side to allow people to enter the capsule. The metal, aside from its usefulness, was bent into designs, noticeably Earth and Fire insignias, and old mythological scenes as a show of the elevator helping to connect the two areas. The springy casing, when fully extended, had gaps so people could see out while in the lift. For additional safety and to prevent items from falling out, there was a secondary glass door on the inside that could be pushed closed from the inside.

The elevator seemed quite large, able to hold many more than their group of thirteen and several member's pets, meaning it must have been designed for larger groups or have the capacity to hold many individuals during busy class days.

Riya had already pulled aside the metal rigging on her first time over, so all the group had to do was step into the machine.

Once everyone seemed ready, Riya closed the double doors. To the right side was a lever, with levels to indicate where people wanted to stop on the ridgeside. Riya pushed the bar all the way to the top.

Despite the old-fashioned style of the elevator's inner workings, the lift rose so smoothly Kalden at first barely noticed the change compared to when it had been stationary. After a moment, the elevator began to gently but swiftly scale upwards.

Kalden looked out through the glass on one side, watching the ground become more distant with each passing moment.

The elevator soon slowed to a graceful halt, letting out a pleasant ding to indicate that unboarding was now safe. Riya quickly opened the doors to reveal the cablecar deck.

A breeze swept by as Kalden stepped out of the elevator, blowing his brown locks of hair to one side briefly. Despite not being as high as the Air islands, the view was already beautiful from atop the ridge, showing landscapes beyond the school's grounds. Or at least, the areas they hadn't built upon. The deck itself was simple but made with sturdy wood and metal railings on the far sides.

The cable deck only took up a small section at the top of the ridge, but it didn't seem that the rest had been used yet for any infrastructure, and was just open for people to hike if they didn't mind the potential danger of it.

Riya opened the door to a large cablecar at the closest waiting station, ready to take passengers up to the floating landmass. However, the cable carts were smaller than the elevator, probably since once one was boarded, another would quickly take its place. Kalden wondered whether they were going to split up on the way up or squeeze into one.

[[In case my description wasn't really great, when I'm talking about the doors, I'm kind of referring to how old fashioned/manual evaluators have those springy parts you have to pull to the side yourself or have a decorative casing.]]

"I don't think he's ever had fish?" Tirali said, "but I'm not entirely sure."
As the group stepped into the lift, Tirali tried not to focus on the ground moving slowly away, instead studying the designs in the door. When the elevator stopped, she stepped onto a deck, wooden with metal railings. To the side was a cable leading higher, up to the floating island. The cable carts looked a lot smaller than the elevator, and Tirali wondered how everyone was going to fit. "Have you ever been on one of these before, Kyra?" she questioned her friend.

Kyra grinned, but hesitated a moment before getting on the rail car elevator. She always hated these tight things. She did not get along with tight places and always felt uncomfortable with them.

"We'll start off with what I know Cinnamon likes then. We can figure it out from there," Kyra replied, trying her best not to look down. She wasn't afraid of heights, she just didn't like the idea of being so high up when she was in a tightly confined space like this.

"As for this thing....once, when we were visiting Opal City on vacation in the wind sign territories. Mom wanted to go hiking in the mountains there. Let's just say I'm not a fan of confined spaces." She admitted, sticking to the center of the group

Perhaps it was her gemini heritage, but Maikela did not mind heights too much. She found herself rather comfortable with them, even. A serene but genuine smile was plastered on her lips as the group gradually began to rise, floating up over the rest of the campus in the elevator.

She was daringly one of the first students to step out, even hoisting herself up on top of the metal rialings that lined the platform. She dangled her legs over one side, tilting her head as she peered down beneath her while her fellow classmates caught up

"Same here, I don't enjoy tight spaces either," Tirali admitted. As an Air sign, the height didn't bother her too much, but the elevator still made her uneasy. They were pretty high up by this point, and she could see for what seemed like miles. Silverscale wasn't looking concerned at all, squeaking and chirping to Tanto in what appeared to be an animated conversation. "You've been to Opal City? What was it like?" Tirali questioned Kyra, as she'd never been there herself, but had heard of it before.

Doug was excited for the next

Doug was excited for the next part. He bounced onto the elevetor and doesn't seem to mind the tight enclose space or the hight at all, just simply look around and stiming to k,ill time in the elevator. He too is the first to step out, ever so full of energy. Perhaps it's the mountain goat side of thing that make him okay with windy height. he's so small though, wouldn't be surprise if the wind swept him away and he'd be laughing about it

"Hey hey with all that talk about the sculture lady, You know what I can do?" he suddenly say out of the blue to no one specific. It may come off as attention grabbing or him seeking validation. He brought out a couple of peeble he apparently stored in the pocket the entire time and levitated them in his palms. they spining around and begin to glow in heat making a funny weeeeee sound.  they've some how withstand the wind. Doug is having the most pleasing smile.

"Opal City was a lot like this actually - lots of mountains and hiking trails. Plenty of nature incorperated into the design of the city. You air signs love your open spaces. The mountain goats and Chimera certainly seem to love it. So do the dragons." Kyra replied, peering over the rail and feeling a bit queasy. She wasn't used to these high altitudes. Not the way the air aligned signs were. Tanto didn't seem to care and was now happily floating on the updrafts as he did a little dance to entertain the humans. The Cancer had to giggle because of his antics.

"Hey hey with all that talk about the sculpture lady, you know what I can do?" Doug said, seemingly to anyone listening. The young boy had a couple of small rocks and began levitating them in the air above his hand. The pebbles not only spun in a circle, but also started glowing and making a weird sound, with what Kalden could only assume was heat causing the two odd occurrences in the rocks.

Kalden turned to the boy, figuring he must have both fire and earth manipulation abilities. The fire part made sense with the boy's Arian background, but the other power was that of the Taurus sign. Similar to Kalden's own unexpected Taurus power.

Kalden was a bit impressed the young boy was able to simultaneously use the two, albeit the combination was mostly for the sake of a trick.

"That's an interesting combination of powers," Kalden remarked, as he slowly made his way over to the opened capsule next to Riya. He wasn't about to back out of riding the cart up, but he also wasn't running for the chance to be the first one on.

"I know, right?" Doug

"I know, right?" Doug grinned, hopped along onto the cable car after Kalden. "I used to only be able to do fire, then I can do rock and Pops freaked out at first but now he wanted me to lift something bigger than a boulder. I mean I can definitely do that now but I can only do pebbles if I combine the two together. He doesn't know I can do that yet though...hmmm" the human chatter box seemed to be trailing off at the end like he's distracted by his own train of thought.

Kalden tried to keep up with the younger boy's string of words. Contrasting Kalden's own reserved nature, Doug chattered on, very freely speaking his mind. The young teen had happily hopped into the car, while Kalden trailed into it at a slower speed. He didn't want to show it outwardly with his facial expressions, but it was unnerving stepping off the stable deck attached to the top of the ridge onto the suspended vehicle. He tightly gripped onto the railings inside the car, despite the fact he knew it wouldn't make a difference in the highly unlikely occurrence of the cablecar somehow running into danger.

"I see," Kalden said in response to Doug's words. "I actually have a Taurus power myself but... it's not the most stable, and I haven't really used it combined with my other ability." The talking served enough of a distraction for Kalden to let go of the railing with one hand, feeling slightly more at ease than when he first boarded.

(Aight I'm back.. Let me catch up XD)

Luca followed the others in silence as they walked up to the cablecars. More listening to the conversations that were happening around him than anything else. Inside the cablecars he noticed a few wary faces peering out of the window tpwards the shrinking ground, causing his lips to curve a little in amusement. The car ride felt short and a little uneventful, walking out onto the deck and following behind Riya as she went to open the next cablecar doors. His attention went to the land around them, having not explored it that often, he began to wonder what it was like hiking through it.

'Maybe I'll check it out later with someone, or something' he thought to himself, getting distracted by a whistling sound and a chattery voice. Looking over to see Doug and Kalden walk up, and watching as Doug practically leaped into the cablecar. The small glowing red pebble in his hand catching Luca's attention next, tilting his head a bit as he followed Kalden in and leaned against the railing with crossed arms, and resting his foot over his other. He listened to the two talk about their powers and began wonder something about the power Doug demostrated.

"Does that hurt to touch after?" He blurted out, not quite caring if he accidentally interrupted someone's sentence. His head then tilted to the side until it was nearly sideways as he stared at the pebble.

"You've seen a Chimera before?" Tirali asked, moving slowly towards the cablecar, not being in any hurry to get on. Tanto and Silverscale were flying around now, and she worried for a second what Riya would say if she saw that, but then figured she was probably fine with it, or she would've said something by now. Silverscale was following his friend's lead, diving through the air currents. The light was shimmering off his scales, making him hard to see. Suddenly Doug spoke up, tossing some pebbles in the air and spinning them around. "Hey hey, with all that talk about the sculpture lady, you know what I can do?" The stones started whistling and glowing. Tirali stared for a second, then blinked a few times after realizing she was. She turned to Kyra and asked, "You doing all right?" Her friend looked a bit queasy at the height.

Kyra was distracted from the question for a moment by the display of fire and rock abilities. Doug had those earth and fire manipulation abilities. She made a mental note to ask which one was his primary power later. He was an Aries so most likely the fire manipulation. Hers was plant manipulation after all. She turned away from the edge of the rock island to answer her friend.

"Yeah, big powerful things too. They had the calmer ones as ambassador animals at the local zoo, so I actually got to meet one up close! She actually let me touch her snout! More scale than fur, but a good combination of both." Kyra replied when her friend asked if she was OK.

"Sorry, it's just the height. I think I might have vertigo or something. I mean I'm not scared of heights or anything, I've flown on my Aunt's dragon before and didn't have a problem. I guess I'm just not used to it like you are as an Air sign, that's all." She assured her friend, Tanto perching on the railing, chirping his own concern for his human, earning a head rub in response.

"Hmmmm I don't know...It's not for me, but nobody else has tried" Doug answered Luca, he seemed genuinely as curious as the older boy was about the question. The pebbles stopped spinning or floating now and just sit on Doug's palm who was unaffected by the heat, if the slightly glow of the pebble indicating that they still giving it off at all.

Luca hummed as he watched it drop into Doug's hand, nodding slightly as he saw no reaction from him.

"Interesting" He cooed, straightening out his body and resting his head against the cablecar wall, waiting for everyone to find their place in this cart or the next.

Tirali glanced back at Doug, noticing the pebbles were now sitting in his hand. Despite then faintly glowing red with what Tirali supposed was heat, he seemed comfortable holding them, maybe because of his fire manipulation. "I don't particularly like being up high, but like you said I'm probably just used to it," she remarked as Tanto chirped his concern. "Do you think you'll feel better when we're on the bigger islands?" Silverscale flew up to Kyra's shoulder, rubbing against her and rumbling softly. Tirali half stepped towards the cablecar and stopped, unsure where they were going next.

Kyra nodded, looking over at her friend, glad that the Aquarius was so understanding. She really appreciated that from Tirali. She saw what Silverscale was up to and giggled a little at his antics when he landed on her shoulder to reassure her. She rubbed his head in respones.

"Thanks guys, I think I might feel better on one of the larger air islands." She replied, rubbing Silverscale's head as Tanto landed on her head, peering down at her in his goofy way whenever he felt like she was upset. It always made her feel better no matter what.

"OK you two goofballs, I feel better. When we get back to the dorms, I am going to whip up some of Aunt Lyra's famous fish snacks for you two." Kyra told the two animals, glad to have them as her friends as well.

They fit easily into the elevator, which must have been designed to comfortably transport large groups. But the next mode of transportation, which she spotted as soon as she stepped out of the elevator and onto the platform, seemed to consist of cable carts which would take them up to the Air and Fire areas. And they were a lot smaller, which meant the group would have to split up.

Myr resolved to pay close attention to who entered which cart, since she could list several people she’d rather not be in such close quarters with.

First though, she stepped out of the elevator and moved across the platform to the railing, where Maikela was already perched, her legs dangling over the edge. Showoff. Myr grabbed the railing tightly out of habit. Capricorns were good climbers as a rule and she was no exception. However, her Aquarius half also meant she lacked any fear of heights. She glanced shortly at Maikela, but opted to ignore her for once in favor of admiring the view.

She could see all of Nysa sprawled out below them, which only served to make her wonder what the view would be like on top of the floating islands they were going next.

Speaking of which, she noticed the cable carts starting to fill, and quickly made her way towards them in order to be able to pick her company for the trip. She saw Luca, Kalden and Doug entering a cart together, the Aries boy showing off what looked like floating red hot rocks. That’s an...unusual combination.

She slipped into a cart with the Aquarius and Cancer girls she had seen talking to plants, but hasn’t conversed with yet. They seemed to be so close that she’d wondered if they maybe knew each other before coming to Nysa. They had their own pets with them, a little dragon and what looked like a tiny gryphon, who the tail she had spotted earlier dangling out of the backpack belonged to.

She caught the last few words of the Cancer, who was complaining about her vertigo. The Aquarius didn’t seem to have any problems with it, but tried to console her.

Maikela hummed softly to herself the tune of a song emblazened unto her mind. She wasn't entirely sure where it came from, or what the significance it held for her. It would just get occasionally get stuck. She appraised the sprawling view of the Academy below her, relishing in the adrenaline that rushed through her veins from her height. Her sense of balance closely resembled that of a cat, she even noted the balancing using of cat tails and on occasion would sprout her own for training and mission purposes.

While she never had been able to achieve a full transformation prior to the incident when she was abudcted to Nysa Academy, her father had been adament about training her Gemmini powers to put to good use. She had honed the trivialities of changing small aspects of herself to aid in missions. Bat ears for sting missions, or eagle eyes for stake outs, or adopting some of the bodily characteristics of a ferret to enhance flexbilty to contortionist levels without the years of spent training. The possibilities were endless. She had recently been experimenting with adjusting her size on command, but that training had all but ceased upon her arrival at the academy. No one but her superiors knew what her secondary power set was, and Maikela intended to keep it that way.

Tirali smiled at the little griffin's antics and stepped into the next car up, noticing another teen joining them. Tirali thought she'd seen her before, at the front of the group, but didn't know her name. "Hi," she mumbled softly, unsure of what else to say. Silverscale didn't have the same problem, jumping off Kyra's shoulder and zipping over to hover in front of the newcomer. He tilted his head almost sideways, then straightened as he was in danger of tipping over. He chirped a few times and darted back to Kyra, bumping against Tanto playfully. "Sorry it Silverscale's bothering you," Tirali apologized to the newcomer, slightly embarrassed.

Kyra also noticed the newcomer, glancing between her as the two animals darted off, Tanto only stopping long enough to chirp a greeting at the new teen. She was either a Capricorn or an Aquarius like Tirali.

"Hey, let me guess: air sign? Judging from your lack of concern, that makes sense. I get vertigo just being near the edge." Kyra asked the new girl, Tanto zipping back to his owner to hover in the air with Silverscale. She pointed to the animal.

"That's Tanto, my mini griffin. Don't mind him, he just likes riding the thermals up here. He's really a sweet little thing." Kyra admitted, figuring she might as well introduce herself while she was at it. "I'm Kyra Marchesi from Crab Port. Tirali, you said you were from one of the air sign cities right? I forgot which one." She commented, glancing at the other girl with her.

The little dragon hovered in front of her and squeaked. “Sorry if Silverscale's bothering you,” the Aquarius girl said shyly.

Myr's personal opinion on pets was that useful ones were the only ones worth her time, and Silverscale was far too small to be anything more than a flying nuisance. Still, there was no point in antagonizing the girl, especially since she didn’t know anything about her yet, so Myr just smiled vaguely and waved her hand to shoo the dragon away. The little griffin, fortunately, kept his distance and chirped at her from his owner's shoulder, before rejoining his dragon friend.

“Hey, let me guess: air sign? Judging from your lack of concern, that makes sense. I get vertigo just being near the edge,” the Cancer girl said. Was she covering up her nervousness by chattering? Didn’t look like it, she seemed relaxed, so maybe just a chatty type.

“Nope, Capricorn. Half Aquarius though,” Myr said, with a glance at the Aquarius girl.

The Cancer went on, “That's Tanto, my mini griffin. Don't mind him, he just likes riding the thermals up here. He's really a sweet little thing.” Before Myr could figure out how to respond to that, she added, “I'm Kyra Marchesi from Crab Port. Tirali, you said you were from one of the air sign cities right? I forgot which one.”

Myr allowed herself a small smile. These two would be far easier company than Maikela and Sauren. She had barely said anything since entering the cart, and she already knew both their names and one hometown. Kyra especially seemed like the type who filled any silence with words, which meant Myr could gain a lot of knowledge by simply keeping her mouth shut and without having to share too much of herself.

Tirali stared at the floor of the car, glancing up when Kyra asked which city she was from. "Aquaria," she replied, almost in a whisper. Something about the Capricorn made her feel nervous, but that was probably just that Tirali didn't know her and was normally shy around people she didn't know. Not knowing the other teen's name yet, she looked up again and asked, "I noticed earlier you were in the tour with us, but I don't know your name. Would you mind telling me?"

“I noticed earlier you were in the tour with us, but I don't know your name. Would you mind telling me?” Tirali asked, after quietly admitting she was from Aquaria. Myr had been there once, on an assignment to steal some incriminating documents about a well-known political figure who, unbeknownst to the public, owed a rather substantial debt to a crime lord. She retrieved the documents for his political rival, who then used the evidence to bring down his career.

It had turned into quite a scandal, and she’d watched the whole thing unfold with amusement from a distance. But she wasn’t going to mention any of that here, of course. Not to two girls who probably hadn’t put one toe out of line in their lives.

“Myr,” she just said. Then, realizing Tharn was still on her shoulder, she added, “And this is Tharn.”

If they could have their pets gallivanting around the place, so could she. And, she could admit, she enjoyed using him to creep people out.

"Myr," the Capricorn said calmly. "And this is Tharn." Tirali had only just seen the blob on Myr's shoulder when Silverscale, who had been hovering fairly closely, stiffened in midair, eyes wide. He stared at the thing for a second, growling menacingly, then he snapped at the air, eyes narrowed. He froze again, then squeaked and darted to Tirali, hiding behind her hair. He peeked out, only far enough to see Tharn, and growled again, more cautiously this time. "What's all that about, little guy?" Tirali asked him. She followed his gaze to Tharn, then tried not to laugh as she realized what he was reacting to. "You silly, that's you!" She told the little dragon. He had seen his reflection in Tharn, but it was so distorted he thought it was a different dragon. Silverscale immediately straightened up. "Yes, ya little goofball, you scared yourself!" The little dragon tilted his head to the side, then lifted it proudly, as if to say, 'I was pretty terrifying, wasn't I'. Tirali glanced back at Myr. "I hope he didn't disturb Tharn?" she questioned, then thought to add, "What kind of creature is he, anyway?"

Myr twitched her fingers as Silverscale snarled at her, ready to intervene. While she kept a close eye on the dragon, her mind was riffing through the possibilities. She could increase the density of the scales on his snout, which would send him dunking nosefirst into the floor of their cart. Or she could decrease the density of his entire body, and let the wind blow him away.

Plenty of options. But before she had to act on any of them, Tirali determined what was wrong with her pet. Apparently the stupid creature was attacking his reflection on Tharn, thinking it was another dragon. Once she realized this, Myr rolled her eyes, although she was careful to do it when neither girl was looking.

“I hope he didn’t disturb Tharn?” Tirali asked. “What kind of creature is he anyway?”

“Nah, he’s fine,” Myr replied, shooting a glance at her own pet, who seemed quite unbothered by Silverscale's antics. “And I have no idea.”

With seemingly everyone having entered their cart or having an expectancy to get into one, Riya slipped inside the same car as the boys, sliding the door closed. Upon the latch of the lock clicking into place securely, the cart automatically began its ascension up the line. Kalden arched his head to look at the deck they had just been attached to as it grew farther away. He readjusted his grip on the handle already within his grasp. Earlier Kalden had not anticipated visiting the flying land islands, but if it meant getting out of the suspended cart, he would take the chance as soon as possible.

Although, the Virgo had to admit, the cart didn't have as much as an unstable feeling as he had worried. He thought each gust of strong wind would rock the capsule, but it mostly resisted the outside forces, continuing up the length.

After several minutes of gazing out at the view, the group was nearing the end of the journey on the cable line. The car had risen above the edge of the isle.

From the window in cart, Kalden could make out the deck ahead where they would shortly depart from. But beyond that was the actual Fire portion of Nysa.

The area was pleasant to view. The walkways here were simple but well-constructed; something of a middle ground between the elegance of the Water area and the practicality of the Earthen paths.

The dorms were more industrial looking than the other living places, almost like apartments. Some of the 'streets' split from the main paths and lifted up in certain areas, wrapping upwards to drop people off at higher levels of buildings, or winding themselves around areas in shortcuts. The higher levels had some metal railings for security, most likely cast by Fire signs that specialize in metalworking. Almost everything was very open to the sun, allowing it to peek into many areas and cast a natural warmth on the cream, golden, orange, red, and brown tones of much of the infrastructure. Even the windows were all large, the frames big enough for natural light to filter inside the living quarters and to also allow people to leisurely sit at to gaze out at the scenery. While the area was very open to the elements, there were still purposefully shaded areas provided to combat the extreme heat of summer or to behave as shelter on rainy days.

However, Kalden noticed wood was less prominent here than in the Earth zone. Perhaps due to the fire, lightning, and strength powers of the Fire elementals that could easily burn or break the material during practice or students horsing around.

What Kalden did see were many lampposts, lanterns, and other lighting fixtures along all the visible pathways, many more than he had seen in the last elemental zone. These probably lit the area so much it glowed beautifully at night.

Most of the area was devoid of naturally growing flora, although not to its detriment. There were still areas where potted plants bloomed and trees cast shade, fitting into their surroundings for both simple viewing pleasure and calculated utility. The area mimicked the cityscapes of the Fire territories; the dryness of the Arian volcanic lands, the floating city of the Sagittarius', and the brightness of the Leo region. To the less built upon the side of the island, however, were long grasses and tall flowers, which Kalden expected would attract sky fireflies at night to light up within the long strands. This vantage point pointed towards the horizon, with the distant mountains and plains taking up most of the spectacular view. Kalden expected being able to view at the sunset or sunrise from this place over the school walls would be rather lovely.

The center of the island sported a large, round gathering place, with the stairs leading down to the center doubling as seating. It was constructed in an outdoor auditorium-like fashion. It took Kalden a moment to realize that the fixture in the lower middle part was a huge sundial, with the centerpiece sticking up and gleaming golden. To the furthest side seemed to be a lifted section that may be used as a stage or performance area.

However, perhaps the most impressive part of the whole area was the large, pyramid-like structure to the right of the central hub. There was a metal triangle like structure. It gleamed with a beautiful warmth, catching the rays of the sun, but still not reflecting them too harshly so as to not be easily visible to viewers. The insignias of the three Fire signs were engraved towards each corner of the pyramid side facing them. The pointed top of the structure held a constant giant flame, steadily burning and giving Kalden the impression that it was permanent and stayed on at all times. The fire danced to its own tune, the stands of flames moving around and shifting regardless of the surroundings. It seemed to take the place of a real volcano in the most spectacular way.

The whole scene pulled together the dynamic and fiery mixture of power and passion of the Fire signs.

The cable car now pulled to a brief stop. Riya opened the doors, allowing the occupants to step out onto the Fire isle.

Kyra noticed the little blob, watching as Silverscale tried to intimidate it until it morphed into the little dragon. She couldn't help laughing at the reaction of the little dragon. Tanto was also making a chortling sound that was his equivalent of laughter as he went over to investigate the little thing, wanting to test it's abilities no doubt. Tanto was always more curious than cautious, unlike Silverscale.

"Oh wow! That's an amorphous blob isn't it?! I've never seen one in person before!" Kyra asked, recognizing the species. They were made by alchemists thousands of years ago - most often as companions for their children - and often popped up in stories about alchemists and even a few magic users like the naiads and nymphs or similar magical beings.

(@Moonfyre, I don't know what you think Tharn is, but I figure a nerd like Kyra would almost always had her nose in a book about stories from the past - which would most likely include the creatures from their world)

Myr's eyes widened almost unnoticably, but her voice remained neutral.

“Good guess. But no, I’m pretty sure he actually isn’t. Amorphous blobs can adjust not only their shape, but also their colour and texture. Tharn can’t do that.”

In truth, Myr had found Tharn somewhere in the slums of Virgin City. Actually, she suspected he was some sort of discarded scientific experiment. Doing some research and finding nothing on his species enforced that idea, which made taking care of him a bit of a trial and error process.

Kyra seemed genuinely interested in him though, which made for a nice change of pace, so Myr had him slide onto her hand and carefully tossed him at Kyra, making sure the Cancer girl could see it coming and keeping a close eye on that mini griffin of hers.

((I in fact have no idea what Tharn is, or if there are more like him or if his species is a natural occurence or whatever. Feel free to speculate XD))

Kyra saw the toss coming and used her quick reflexes (you had to be fast when your chatty plants wanted to mess with you and try using their roots to trip you up just to annoy you) to catch the little blob in her hand. He really was a cute little guy. She smiled, looking down at it in her hand. Even Tanto seemed genuinely interested in the little thing as he perched on her arm to get a better look at their new friend's pet.

"He looks like he might be some sort of prototype to the amorphos blob. Some alchemist probably tried to make one using someone's old notes and failed. That's probably why he has the odd color and can only do geometric shapes for the most part. Typyical amorphos blobs are a range of colors from the basic spectrum - red, yellow, green, blue and white. Orange like Tharn aren't typically seen." Kyra noted, getting a good look at Tharn's coloring. He was a nice shade of sunset orange, a good color for a prototype, but not a regular amorphos blob. The alchemists that made them were strictly monitored and if you wanted to make one yourself, you had to register with your local science branch. They were quite common as low cost pets back in Crab Port. A few of the more well off families - both middle and upper class, even a few lower class familys that couldn't afford a nekomata or some other typical pet like a cat or dog - would purchase them for their kids as pets. That was probably why little Tharn was made. He was meant to be someone's pet but the formula didn't go right.

"So aside from making fun of nosy scardy dragons," Kyra glanced pointedly at Silverscale with a teasing smile at the little beast. "can he do shapes other than geometric patterns?" she asked Myr, genuinely interested in learning more about the blob as Tanto curiously poked at it gently with his talon. He wans't trying to hurt it, he was just curious about the texture more than anything.

What the what-what huh? Tirali thought as Kyra started excitedly talking about morphing blobs, which Tirali guessed Tharn was, and about alchemy and that kind of stuff. As she didn't really know what her friend was talking about, she just tried to look like she knew. Tharn jumped from the Capricorn to her friend, and Silverscale jumped hurriedly out of its way, apparently still not entirely certain his reflection wasn't another dragon, and stuck his little tongue out when Kyra called him a scaredy-dragon. Then the car jolted and started up. As the Fire island came into view, Tirali found she was somewhat disappointed. She hadn't known what to expect, but thought it would maybe look like a volcano or something. Instead it looked... remarkably normal, except for an obvious lack of wood and other flammable items. "Have either of you ever been to a Fire territory before?" she questioned her companions. The Aquarius figured Kyra would've for sure, she seemed to be everywhere.

Luca had placed his hands behind his head as he followed the others out, looking back down the cable line to see the other car pulling up quickly behind them. Having wondered over to the edge and looked to the right of him to see a waterfall in the distance below. The contents of it's waters falling into a deep canyon that didn't allow any light to enter it, causing it to look more like a dark void underneath the floating isles. The odd gap in land always captured Luca's attention, but he had to explore it, well he had yet to figure out how to explore it. He looked up ahead and began searching for the well known golden brown building he stayed in. Spotting it with a stable near it and a black dragasus circling it. But once it's eyes caught sight of the white hair from afar, it dived under the islands, blending in with the darkness as it travelled closer. Luca snapped his attention back to the other cable car pulling in, getting a gust of wind that came from below, blowing a smirk onto Luca's face as he turned to look at the other teens.

"Hey guys! Check this out!" He announced, jumping on the metal railing that seperated him from the abyss below. He slightly leaned over the edge and let the strong wind keep him afloat, arms crossed over his chest as he smiled to the others.

"Wind should never stop.. So you could pretty rest here" He chirped, open smile beaming to them.

Kyra was glad to step out of the cart, glad to be on solid ground again, still holding on to Tharn as they stepped out into the volcanic landscape of the fire area. There were dried lava flows, fresh flowing lava, basically what you'd see at the crater of an errupting shield volcano.

"No, actually, I've never been to a fire territory before. We were planning on going this summer to look for fire resistant plants though." Kyra admitted, awed by the sight of the flows. It was hot, but not uncomfortably so. She wondered if there were Ifrit in the area, fire spirits keeping the area tolerable for humans and other creatures. She could see the fire spirits working to control the directions of the flows, keeping them from covering the cooled paths that she could see students were using as well as hangout areas amid the flowing lava.

((@Skyhunter22: Tharn’s actually not orange. He’s white and sort of transparent. Think jelly))

Kyra caught him easily and examined him, saying he was cute with a genuine smile. It was the first time she had ever heard someone call Tharn cute. Myr herself certainly never had, although that might be more because ‘cute’ wasn’t exactly part of her usual vocabulary.

Kyra proclaimed Tharn might be some sort of amorphous blob prototype, and that his inability to change colour was probably explained by lack of skill from the alchemist that made him. She then went on to list some characteristics of typical amorphous blobs.

Myr listened half-interested. Tharn might be a failed amorphous blob or he might not be, in the end, it didn’t change anything. Finders keepers, he was hers, and he was quite good at the purpose she used him for. That was all she needed to know.

“So aside from making fun of nosy scaredy dragons, can he do shapes other than geometric patterns?” Kyra asked. Her pet griffin – Tanto, Myr recalled – poked a talon at Tharn. The blob shied away from the animal, hopping back to his owner.

“He can do pretty much any shape he likes,” Myr explained, Tharn forming himself into the shape of a hedgehog as she spoke, “but he needs a little help to make it convincing.” She increased the density of the translucent spines on Tharn’s back, turning them hard and sturdy. She stroked a finger over them to show they were rigid now.

Kyra gawked at him, so she handed the silvery hedgehog back over and turned as they jolted to a stop. She stepped out of the cart and took in the Fire area.

Much like Tirali, she was slightly disappointed at the lack of volcano, although she spotted what she thought were pools of lava here and there. An active volcano would probably be a bit of a safety hazard, she reasoned. Instead, there was a huge metal pyramid, with fires burning here and there, giving it a volcano-like feel. It was hot too, almost uncomfortably so for her. She hoped they wouldn’t stay too long.

“Have either of you ever been to a Fire territory before?” Tirali asked behind her.

“No, actually, I've never been to a Fire territory before. We were planning on going this summer to look for fire resistant plants though,” Kyra replied.

Myr just smiled to herself. She had in fact been to all three Fire territories more than once. The sign’s passionate and temperamental nature meant there were squabbles and grudges more often than not, which made their territories lucrative places for thieves. She had always found them a bit too hot for her liking though, and was always glad when she could leave for one of the cooler territories again.

Kalden Sternok | Virgo

Kalden wandered out of the parked cart after Luca, who clearly knew the area well, having already lived there for a time. The Virgo noted that the other carts had also eased to a stop behind theirs. Several of the girls were in the cart directly behind, and he figured Maikela, Sauren, and the others he didn't yet know had taken the third cable car up.

Now out of the vehicle, Kalden could see more of the ground and the streams of lava flowing into pools around the outskirts of the buildings. He wondered if there were fire spirits causing the phenomenon and manipulating the flow since the landmass was too small to sport a large scale volcano that usually spanned miles wide.

However, the lack of natural plant life except towards the outside edges of the island, as well as the color, texture, and heat made Kalden wonder if the land they were standing on was volcanic dirt from a volcano within a Fire territory. That would explain how the lava was able to be contained in its pits and rivers.

Nonetheless, there were plumes of smoke emitting from small pockets here and there in the ground, indicating there was more occurring beneath the island than he initially expected.

Kalden didn't notice the dark canyon and waterfall that fed into it from the Fire isle until he exited the capsule. It was directly below the floating land so he had missed it in his initial observation until Luca called attention to it with a holler of: "Hey guys! Check this out!"

The russet haired teen decided to stay back from the railing, still feeling cautious of the edge, but Luca seemed to pay it no mind. In fact, the other male scaled atop the barrier, keeping balance. Kalden felt an initial shock of seeing someone attempting such a stunt at the great height but soon realized that while Luca was leaning backward, the strong force of the wind pushing upwards was keeping him safe from falling.

"Wha..." Kalden started but felt a loss of words. He edged a little closer to the edge, peering over. Obviously he couldn't see the airflow, but he could feel it upon being closer to the source. He reached a hand over, mildly surprised that it was left suspended where he had reached out into open space, despite allowing his arm to go lax. "That's peculiar,"

((I'm back... let's see... hmmm Sauren my girl... what should I do with you hmmmm??))

Sauren stepped onto the cablecar, Maikela at her usual antics again, Myr finally getting some proper and normal socializing in for the day with the other sub-clique in the tour group. Kalden hovered near the center of the car as they moved, but Luca danced with danger as he leaped upon the car's railing, inviting them to join in his view of the terrain below and around them. She was half tempted to give him a little gravitational nudge, but decided against it. Casualties caused under Sauren's watch were sure to draw undue attention and drama. She leaned against the railing, hands in the secretly big pockets of her overcoat, propping her elbows against the cool metal as the heat warped the view around her.

It was kind of surprising how similar Scorpio could be to Fire element signs sometimes, in the way of heat. Sometimes Sauren wondered what it wouldn't been like had she been born an Aries, Sagittarius, or Leo. Probably would've have been very different. Her father would have stayed a crime lord, she would've been his good little criminal daguther.

Sauren silently got off the car, not speaking to anyone as she exited. Myr chatted with the Cancer and Aquarius girls about her interesting little blob pet, Tharn. Yes, she'd eavesdropped enough. Plus it was hard not to eavesdrop when in such confined quarters. She waited until they all got off, discreetly eyeing each of them in turn.

((Boys aren't even in a cable car anymore XD))

Luca watched as the Virgo dared closer, resting his arm over the edge of the railing and let it be held up by the wind. A small smile threatening to pull at Luca's lips as he thought, though his attention was shortly captivated by the last cable car pulling in. Letting off Sauren, Maikela, and the rest. Luca looked back down to the other male as he returned to his original thought process.

'Man... I feel like I'm gonna regret doing this in a minute' He thought to himself, the strength of the wind weakening ever so slightly and causing Luca's body to start descending.

"Oh, I guess the wind doesn't last forever, like I had originally thought" He spoke in a cheerful manner, noticing Kalden's arm slightly drop, and feeling himself fall soon after. The wind having come, and decided it move on to other areas, causing Luca to go over the edge head first.

Myr listened absently to Tirali and Kyra’s babbling, watching the others leave the cable cars, taking in their first reactions to this new, not universally hospitable area.

Something in the corner of her eye attracted her attention, and she realized Luca was climbing on top of the railing on the edge of the island where it dropped away into thin air. She frowned as she saw him leaning over the abyss and realized the wind was strong enough to support him. What the h.eck does he think he’s doing? Doesn’t he know how fickle the wind can be? She really had judged him to have more brains than this. She considered changing his density, whether to make it easier or harder for him to stay up she was still debating, but decided against it. If he had a d.eath wish, why should she do anything?

She left Tirali and Kyra behind and made her way over to the railing, where Kalden seemed to be having similar doubts over Luca's actions.

She was three steps away when she saw his body tilting and heard his oblivious “Oh, I guess the wind doesn’t last forever.” She stopped in puzzlement as he tumbled gracefully into the abyss.

Kalden suddenly felt the wind pressure decrease, his arm falling enough that he was about to question the Sagittarius' former claim of the safety when he heard the other male speak suddenly.

"Oh, I guess the wind doesn't last forever, like I had originally thought," Luca said without much alarm before Kalden lost sight of his spikey hair, the other's head having fallen face-first over the railing. If Kalden was a more vocally inclined person, he may have shouted at the sight, especially with his already uneasy feelings about the floating land. His cautious mind instead thought, Why would he do something so dangerous!

Kalden's powers were mostly useless to save the other, unless Kalden had fallen over the side alongside the teen. Force fields didn't do much good unless Kalden himself also fell to put them up, and his absorption powers would, again, only help himself with shock impact... that was if he was able to use the power despite its unpredictability.

Kalden leaned his head forward to get a better look at the falling figure from over the side of the railing Luca had just lost balance on.

((Oops... Ignore everything but Sauren's musings then lol So lemme get this right: Luca's on the railing of the landing of wherever they are the girls are just getting off in their own car, correct?))

Luca's supportive air blew out from beneath him, causing him to fall down, head first, into the yawning space below them.

What kind of idiot expected the wind to last forever, much less stay put? Sauren rolled eyes, strolling to the railing Luca had just vacated. She wondered if this was another of Luca's tricks, and he had some solution to it. If not, she could always glue him to the side of the canyon then have someone or herself walk down and retrieve him.

She propped an elbow on the railing and watched with a bemused gaze to how Luca's little venture would unfold.

((Yes, that's correct... They're on the deck on a floating island.... Also I don't think I said this yet.. but Welcome back! :))

Luca hummed as he fell, watching as the light from above quickly darken as he fell further into the canyon, listening to the wind pass his ears in whistles. He brought his head further backwards to change his position of falling, trying to catch the familiar sounds of wings in the looming darkness. Within several short moments, the wings made themselves known, growing louder and louder as Luca waited for the Dragasus to catch up. Grabbing onto her mane as she dived under and landed gently on her back before she shot up towards the floating island holding the other teens. Liberty glided over the forming group and landed with a thump on the stone walkway directly behind the others at the railing. Luca was sitting on her back in a lax position, leaning back with one hand behind him, and his leg proping up his other arm, a sly smile painting his features as he looked to the others.

Tirali was mildly surprised there was somewhere Kyra hadn't gone, though she probably should've expected so. Since her friend had a connection with plants, she would likely go where there were plants, and Tirali hadn't known there were such things fire-resistant ones. Some motion near the edge caught her eye, and she turned slightly to see Luca standing on the railing, leaning backwards off the railing. Another teen stepped over and held his arm out over the crevice. Even though it appeared limp, it was floating, and Tirali stared a little while. Then his arm dropped, as did Luca. Tirali's eyes widened in alarm as he dropped over the edge headfirst, only not rushing over because she knew she couldn't do anything to help. Then she heard wingbeats, and Liberty rose above the railing with Luca perched atop her back, smiling calmly. She realized she'd been holding her breath and released it in a rush. "Gah, that scared me," she said to Kyra, noticing Myr had gone over already. Silverscale was on the ground nearby, sniffing at a puddle of lava. A little bit spattered on his scales, and he leaped back, shaking himself and jumping around to get it off. He soon did, and appeared mostly unharmed, but Tirali still picked him up so he didn't accidentally jump into the puddle. He chirped at her and ran up to her shoulder, where he curled up and watched what was happening through half-open eyes.

Kyra saw Tanto also sniffing a pool of lava, the same one as Silverscale. Except he was more careful than the dragon.  She glanced over when she heard larger wingbeats. She grinned when she saw Liberty. She was glad to see Luca's Dracosus (I think that's what you called her, right Dylieh?) and glanced at Silverscale to make sure he was OK.

"Don't worry, I have some burn ointment to help him if he needs it. I make it myself from my plants. All natural ingredients and animal friendly. Though, no matter what their alignment element wise, dragons all have some level of fireproofing in their scales as a natural defense mechanism." Kyra told her friends, glancing between Myr and Tirali. She blushed when she saw the looks that she got.

"I was home schooled, I read a lot on dragons." She admitted, feeling like a total nerd right now.

Doug the aries

When the cable car departed, Doug tried his best to get the better view out the window. His eyes shone as the fire sign area began to came into view. Unexpectedly, Doug excitement subtly drop the more he saw and replacing on his expression is something almost like a disappointment

"oh..." He said, shoulder slumped a little "This looks and feels like home...kinda normal" He tried to see more and the smile returned "A lot sunnier though---ah?"

then  he finally spot the firey pyramid and the exciteness returned to the boy. He practically leap out the cable car once they arrived and bolted but unsurprisingly---his short attention span shifted again and found himself more impressed by Luca half floating by the air current on the cable wire(but somehow not Maikela's earlier similar stun) than the makeshift volcano

"Really? Oh lemme lemme!" Doug who has no concept of fear what so ever was two second away from doing the same stunned when the wind comically stopped and he could here Luca in the same comedic tone uttered "Oh--I guess the wind doesn't last forever" and drop like a hot sack out of his field of vision into the abyss

Doug lean onto the railing following his momentum, not to save Luca but to watch much like some of the others. It was all to fast to classified his feeling to anything other than simply shock though, no concern for the older boy's safety nor knowing that he had it under control, as soon as he fell, he raised back up oh his flying horse, smirking.

"That's so cool!" Doug cheered before impulsively trying to climb over the railing "here, let me do it too--!" ignoring the fact that he doesn't have a flying mount nor abilities

((@Skyhunter22: Myr's sorta...not there anymore ;) ))

Myr walked to the railing, exchanging a confused look with Sauren and gazing down into the depths, expecting to finally see some panicked flailing from Luca. Instead, he seemed perfectly calm, and a few seconds later she understood why. In hindsight, she could have figured it out herself. She knew Luca had brought his Dragasus Liberty with him to the school, although she hadn’t seen the creature up close yet.

She saw her now, swerving underneath her owner to catch him and bring him back up to the rest of them. Liberty landed in front of them with a thump and Luca was perched comfortably on her back, regarding them with a self-satisfied expression.

Myr leaned back against the railing and gave Luca a smile and a raised eyebrow, appreciative of the trick. Good show.

Kalden thought he could make out the silhouette of a large winged animal fly down below, descending quickly. Both the man and the creature disappeared in the darkness below for but a moment.

However, soon what appeared to be a singular figure quickly began flying back out of the chasm. Upon arriving closer to the deck, Kalden could make out that Luca was on his own dragusus' back.

Upon landing behind the group, Luca's position on the back of the creature screamed both casual and boastful. A cunning smile covered his features.

The whole scenario and Luca's unconcerned approach to it suddenly made sense. He was a professional at racing with a flying animal, after all. Still, Kalden was a little shocked that he would place such trust into such a, seemingly, uncertain outcome. Kalden figured that perhaps the sayings of Fire signs and their unpredictable and spontaneous natures were not incorrect.

Before Kalden could decide to comment on the show, Doug ran over excitedly to the edge, clambering atop the railing similar to Luca. However, Kalden wasn't quite certain this boy had a backup plan in the event he fell, unlike Luca.

"Um, maybe that's not a good idea," Kalden warned, his eyebrows furrowing in concern at the boy's fearlessness.

Sauren glanced demurely at Myr before Luca whooshed above their heads, his dragasus landing with a smugly smirking Luca lounging on its back. Sauren rolled her eyes, and almost instinctively tripped Doug on his enthusiastic way over the railing.

"Oh no you don't," Sauren grunted, reactively heaving the crazy Aries boy from the railing and dumped him back on solid ground before he could splatter himself on the earth far below them. "Id.iot," she grumbled uner her breath, glaring down at him and cocking an eyebrow.
