[Riya Syren]

Luckily, Nikalia had diverted the conversation away from the topic.

"I think you might be missing a few students." The water nymph commented.

"So it seems," Riya grumbled. She glanced around, taking note of the specific students that had run off. She flipped her hand out, several illustrated cards resting between her fingers, one for each student that had left the area. She briefly added something to each one before throwing them to flutter to the ground.

Suddenly four small figures appeared atop now blank card faces.

Black and white messenger pigeons blinked, scuttering around or flapping their wings in imitations of the real-life birds. Riya pointed her finger and the live drawings fluttered off in the direction the new students had gone in.

[Kalden Sternok]

Kalden started in a bit of a surprise. He hadn't noticed Sauren's presence until she had answered his question. She seemed to regard the page he held.

Myr agreed with the Scorpio, adding, “I know where the library is. Do we go now or do we go back to the tour first?”

Kalden considered the question. He was really interested in seeing if the library had any answers to the questions brought up by the symbol.

However, Kalden was interrupted by a pecking feeling on his leg. It was light but persistent. The male looked down at his feet, a paper-like bird sitting there. He noticed two more fly up to Myr and Sauren, and a fourth flutter up to higher area in the garden, although Kalden didn't know why.

He picked up the imitation bird, noticing a small note written along with its right-wing.

"Leaving 5 minutes after you get this. Last chance to catch up." The writing relayed shortly.

"It's Riya's." Kalden said. Now that he thought of it... this may be his only chance to get a formal look around the school, especially before the classes the next day.

"I'll probably go back for now, personally... but perhaps we could all plan on the library this evening." He offered, giving them the chance to either go back to the tour for now or that they could all reconvene later if either of the two across from him wanted to head to the library with the paper sooner than he.

Luca watched as the three spoke, a few echos of their plans reaching over to his ears, though in all honesty, he really only couldn't hear a few select words. Understanding it had something to do with a sign they never heard of, and that the library may have answers. Which only caused him to wonder more about the new contents the paper held, he figured it had an oddly shaped sign on it, but which was what he wondered most. Luca began going through his head in search of all the odd symbols he knew of, and where they mostly fit within the signs and in this current ordeal. The House he descends from never feared the 13th number, viewing anyone with the superstition as ignorant mostly. Though since they found the fear so interesting, they decided to research it, linking it to many symbols of oddity. Some of which seemed to connect to the duel power phenomena they recently noticed, along with other curious topics. But, a lot of the research and discoveries lead to dead ends, or even more questions, leaving many historians and scientists alike to scratch their head in confusion. However, with as many questions as the symbols brought, they figured they understood it enough to let it be an optional class in Sagittarius schools, a class that Luca enjoyed most.

The white haired male tilted his head as he tried to focus more on the paper, still attempting to view the rubbing Kalden captured. Which allowed him to completely miss the raised eyebrow of the Capricorn girl staring right at him. His train of thought nearly running on overdrive before crashing at the sight of a paper bird flying into his face, earning a quiet groan from the boy as he slowly came back to reality. Luca's eyes rolled off the birds wing and in a full circle as he read the warning, dropping his head with another quiet groan and letting go of the paper being. His hanging head then took him over the railing, falling for a split second before his hands causally grabbed the vine plants he knew all too well. The plants failed to threaten uncertainty about breaking, letting the new weight slowly climb down it with only a few scared leaves shaking off and gliding to the ground below. Luca had used both his arms and legs to pratically dance down the vines, looking more like a spider creatively descend down a web. His head had seemed to be closer to the ground when the vine finally ended, so he brought his legs forward and casually lowered himself on the floor with a quiet thump, continuing the casualness as he walked towards the exit. Luca let out a large yawn and stretched his arms above before resting his hands behind his head and locking his fingers together to insure they'd stay. The spider web of thought bubbles had began popping up again and he glanced at the paper in the other boy's hand. He debated to himself for a few long moments if he should question it, having already seen the school inside and out. He found that the waxed covered paper held far more interest to him than the paper pigeon's warning could ever grasp. His pace slowed as he stared for what seemed like an uncomfortable amount of time while he tried to string together the words to address it. Then just stopped walking altogether and simply tilted his head, finally looking up at the other three with a bleak but childish stare. Still, lacking a sentence to speak.

Myr | Capricorn

Myr tried to look over Kalden’s shoulder at the message, but was interrupted by her own paper pigeon landing on her shoulder and pecking lightly at her ear. She picked it up and looked at its wing, reading the message and confirming it was the same as Kalden’s.

“It’s Riya’s,” Kalden said. Myr realized that was probably the name of their Pisces guide and filed the information away. She noticed Luca clambering down and making his way towards them.

“I’ll probably go back for now…but perhaps we could all plan to go to the library this evening,” Kalden suggested. Myr thought about it. She wasn’t overly interested in the tour, having been most places on her own already. But despite being curious about the sign, she didn’t feel like going to the library by herself either, so she decided to follow the group consensus.

Luca had reached them by now, with his pigeon clutched in his hand and a blank, frankly rather stupid expression on his face. She turned to him and addressed him, assuming he had eavesdropped enough to know what she was talking about, “Library or tour?”

"Aw, lame" Doug went as far

"Aw, lame" Doug went as far as to pout. but that's it. He walked back to Kyra and Tirali empty handed. Missing what Tirali has whispered to Kyra. He waited for the next part of the tour.

"Sorry kids, it's nothing you need to worry about," Nikalia waved the question off, looking back at Riya and quickly changing the subject. "I think you're missing a few students." Tirali narrowed her eyes a fraction. Nothing we need to worry about? I doubt it. Riya frowned, glancing around to see which students were missing, then pulled out four cards. She put something on them, then threw them on the ground. As Tirali watched, four black-and-white birds appeared on top of the cards, then fluttered away in the direction of the garden they'd been in previously. Tirali blinked a few times. What are those? She turned her attention back to her friends. Doug looked disappointed, and Kyra was trying to coax Silverscale back into her backpack. The little dragon was being rebellious, shaking his head and turning away, then shooting sparks occasionally. "And you! Why are you being so rude all of a sudden?" She questioned him. He grumbled, then nodded his head towards the nymph. "Alright, I get that she startled you, but you don't have to be this grumpy about it! Here, let's get you back in there." So saying, she gently picked him up and dropped him in the backpack. Silverscale squeaked a bit in protest, then dove down, popping back up with a sandwich.

(thanks for the heads up)

Kyra giggled, rolling her eyes at Silverscale as Tanto dove in, coming up with another sandwich. She couldn't help it. The two animals were adorable together. Too bad they weren't the same sign.

"Hey, why don't you come by my dorm after the tour and you get settled? I can show you the setup Cancer students get. Or at least what I got with my setup." Kyra offered, figuring she could get to know her new friend better.

A little paper fluttered up to her, pecking a prickly kiss on her cheek before dropping into her hand. A warning, and not the first she'd received from Miss Riya Syren of the Pisces Administration. Kalden opted to go back to the tour, but Luca's apathetic approach to their group recalled her attentions. He seemed struck speechless, for what reason Sauren itched to find out. He'd obviously seen the strange sign by now, and overheard the vital portion of Myr and Kalden's musings.

"Library or tour?" Myr demanded of Luca.

As a sophomore student, Sauren didn't feel the irresistable urge to tour the campus yet again with all the blathering people under Riya's unreliable watch. But maybe she would harvest some important imformation along the way, some snippets of gossip and whispers that would aid in her clandestine assignment. She tilted her head curiously at Luca, regarding him with hooded eyes. She waited for his and Myr's decision.

Myr and Sauren seemed to be waiting for Luca's answer. Already having decided for himself, Kalden safely stored the wax-rubbed paper into his satchel. Glancing up at the sky, the Virgo noticed that the day was progressing. There was still a lot of the daylight left, but it was nonetheless getting cooler as the sun moved away across the sky.

There were only a few more minutes until Riya would move on, so Kalden decided to simply nod to the other three as he moved to walk back to where they had left Riya and the others. As he approached, the water sign had seemed to start leading the students on to another area, saying goodbye to what appeared to be a water nymph.

Presumably, she was about to walk towards the Earth zone. Kalden noticed Doug, as well as the Cancer and Aquarius girls, and Maikela somewhat separated from their little group. Kalden decided to join Riya, who looked at him with cool blue eyes.

"What is with you running off all the time?" She asked with a tsk. "I just wasted several cards on you lot."

"Apologizes," Kalden rubbed the back of his head. He held out the paper pigeon that had alerted him earlier, which Riya simply moved her fingers towards. The motion allowed the paper to fly off Kalden's hands and up to Riya's shoulder, moving its head around, as it viewing the scenery.

Luca's mouth opened to say something, but ended up just breathing in air and closing it with a furrowed brows. Looking around in a slight confusion as he thought about her words, settling to simply keep the silence and walk back towards the group. Kalden having already left and rejoined Riya, Luca decided to trail behind the group and admire the scenery.

Luca, for whatever reason, didn’t seem capable of responding. He just stood there opening and closing his mouth, looking comically like a fish out of water.

Kalden apparently didn’t feel like waiting until Luca regained his voice. He nodded to the rest of them and began walking back in the direction of the group. Apparently shaken from his inaudible dilemma, Luca followed him. Eloquent, Myr thought, looking at their retreating backs before turning to Sauren to see what she would do.

The Scorpio’s features seemed deliberately unreadable, so Myr shrugged, not in the mood to play games with her. “Tour it is,” she said, walking away and after the others. There would be plenty of opportunity to visit the library at a later time after all. The mystery wasn’t in any hurry to be solved.

Maikela ceased in her antics as she noticed her fellow students returning to the spring. She arched an eyebrow incredulously,.

She had purposefully avoided the area, but given the determined look on Myr's face, something told her that they had discovered something.

Regardless,  Maikela still did need a private meeting with Sauren to discuss the terms, conditions, and benefits of this shaky alliance. Because Maikela figured that Sauren would not have accepted the offer if she did not see herself benefitting from it in some way.

Maikela carefully retrieved her glove, sliding it in place delicately over her hand before rising to her feet.

Riya led the group to the other grounded zone of the school, fittingly that for the Earth elements. Like with how the water area had various areas that appealed to the three different water signs, the area encapsulated several different types of Earthy terrains.

The area closest to the water zone was filled with plant-life, but more neutral than the former, in the form of trees, vines, and grass, with some wildflowers noticeable throughout. Everything was much less wet, but still life-filled, with the scent of fresh earth and flora in the air. Unlike the water area, they were now more separated from water sources, although small streams stemming off from the main river flowed and tricked through the outskirts of the area.

The trees were filled with quiet but consistent birdsong. Kaleidoscopes of butterflies flittered around, landing on various wildflowers filled with sweet nectar, while a few bumblebees lazily buzzed nearby. Kalden thought he saw a deer through a nearby clearing of trees, but it seemed to be gone when he glanced over again. Along the largest trees above them were wooden drawspring bridges, connecting the higher limbs together, or acting as shortcuts that led to the higher areas of the school.

The grounded walkways here were more naturally made, almost like those of a well-worn woodland path with a mixture of dirt and fallen leaves, creating a path as even as those the group had just arrived from. Globes were hung along the pathways, both in the trees and down below, many either hanging from nearby branches or hung up on wooden fixtures. They weren't currently lit, but the lanterns were yellow in color, hinting that they emitted a beautiful glow at nightfall. Any stairs along the pathway were made of wood, a mixture of carved, man-made configurations, and large, worn tree roots. In the areas leading into the forested section, tree branches naturally created canopies or intertwined into archways.

Away from the green treelines and flowered clearings were the more brown-toned areas. Grassless portions allowed the rock and dirt to take the green's place. Mounds of natural formations dotted the landscape, like nature's own sculptures. Dotted throughout were human carved designs, made of wood, stone, or clay. Although this section didn't have the trees' shade, the nearby outcrops provided a bit of their own.

Against this side of the zone was some caverns fitting into the side of a large ridge, escalating upwards several stories. It was much smaller than the cliffs in Kalden's own territory, and neither was it quite like the Capricorns' mountain ranges, but it gave off a faint feeling of both.

Other small structures spotted the surrounding area or created from the side of the large outcrop's face. The individual buildings were smaller than the main buildings on campus but just as impressive from an architectural standpoint.

Kalden couldn't hold back a small smile at the sight. It wasn't as elegant as the water zone, but the Earth signs' home at Nysa was definitely tranquil, and a perfect mixture of practical and whimsical.

Riya explained that students could use the bridges in the trees to head up to the main campus if they didn't want to use the paths. She also briefly spoke about the dorms within the ridge. Kalden could see a nearby elevator that led up to the top of the ridge. From there seemed to be cables extending out towards a nearby floating island, notably one of the larger ones Kalden had seen so far. He could even see a cablecar slowly declining downwards towards the top of the ridge.

"Once you lot have finished looking around here, we'll head up the the Fire and Air islands." Riya finished.

Kalden suddenly felt a bit more uneasy than a moment ago. The idea of hanging in the air in a cart didn't much appeal, and the floating landmasses still didn't do much for him.

The sight of the new area was a pleasent view, reminding Luca of a few of his tours to other cities. The air seemed a little more refreashing with each step, and the forest noises were therapeutic to his bi polar emotions. Riya's voice eventually tuned out somewhere during the walk from the last unit to now, allowing him to completely focus on the plants and surrounding scenery. However, with the mention of the floating islands, his eyes lit up enough to light a dark room, slightly glancing around to try and read if anyone else was looking forward to the homes of the harsher elements. Everyone's expression appeared to be still encapsulated with the new area for him to catch anything on his current home, but once his eyes landed on the Virgo male, he found slight fear. With his usual tilt of a head and a raised eyebrow, he strut up to Kalden's side with a small smile.

"What you think of the school so far?" He chirped, dipping his head a little trying to capture Kalden's gaze to meet his own.

"We'll be going up to the fire area soon, I think you'll like it more than back there in the water area," Riya said towards Doug. Her face was as neutral as usual, but she seemed to have noticed the Aries' eventual boredom of having been in the wet area.

"Then lastly, the Air area," She said, seemingly in reference to the Aquarius of the group, who Kalden didn't know the name of yet. As always, the name of Aquarius and its sign of the 'water bearer' struck as odd that the zodiac itself was associated with Air.

"I'm going to go catch the elevator," Riya called out louder to the group, before walking down the pathway to the metal contraption that led up to the platform they would wait atop to board the cable car from.

Kalden's attention was stolen away from the Pisces tour guide as Luca walked up beside him.

"What do you think of the school so far?" He asked with a small smile.

"I rather like the setup," Kalden admitted. "Especially the central area, and here. But I think I'll reserve full judgement until I have attended classes tomorrow." He said with a light tone.

Kalden decided not to mention his apprehension for their next two locations, specifically that of the air zone. After all, it was his opposing element. But Kalden figured if he could jump off a balcony atop the back of Sauren's mount, then the more predictable traversing vehicle shouldn't be too bad. The thought of the Scorpio let the Virgo subconsciously gaze around for the group consisting of herself, Maikela, and Myr. They had been surprisingly quiet, given the growing number of shenanigans that had occurred thus far on the tour around Nysa.

"I guess we'll be seeing where you live here in a few minutes," Kalden said, bringing his attention back to the Sagittarius, beginning to make his way after Riya, albeit at a slower pace.

Doug the aries

Doug hummed as he approached the earthly area. It is better than the last one but still somewhat alien to Doug. This area is the most green he has ever seen too which fullfilling his curiousity meter and pull him out of boredom temporaly as he inspect each sections. He seems to especially interested in the little critter, play around and giggle at the buzzing bees without fear. His interaction with both Tirali and Kyra suggested he might not be an animal person as much as they are....or perhaps he is...just not a pet person.

"It's so green" Doug mused, arms spread while open as if he waiting for birds to land on him like some princess, instead there're bees and he's sastified "I would expect this area to be, I don't know, more rocky. that would feel like back at home" then he turned and bright up "Ah..! like that" and he shooted straight to the brown area. He hummed uncertainly at the sculture but seemed to be happy enough around cliffs and ridges.

Then he practically cheered when Riya mentioned fire area, throughly ignored the air one.  This prompted Riya to spoke directly to him. "Totally" Doug replied cheerfully, unaware that it might come out offensive to the other signs. He then bouced after Riya, slightly outpaced Kalden in the front once they are ready to move on.

Luca's smile grew as Kalden explained his thoughts, snapping his head to the passing Aries who seemed to have been walking fairly fast. But then began noticing that the other teens had also passed them in a quick pace, causing him to glance down to the ground in curiosity. His gaze crawled over to Kalden's feet as he realized he was trying to keep pace with the other teen, a small glance at the Virgo's face gave him little to nothing to read as well. His attention had then started floating up to the levitating landmasses that laid ahead as Kalden mentioned it. Tossing his hands behind his head again as he thought about it.

"It's... not as intimidating as it looks" He cooed, sending the Virgo teen a gentle smile.

"So long as you focus on the buildings instead of the edge" He mused quietly after, widening his smile.

"Sure!" Tirali smiled at her friend's invitation. "I don't think Silverscale will mind getting more time to play with Tanto, either," she added, noting the little dragon's eager expression.
The rest of the group seemed ready to move on, so she stood up and walked in their general direction. Riya was leading them to the Earth area of the school. It looks like a peaceful place, somewhat like the Water area, but not quite as... delicate? Is that the right word for it? Tirali thought to herself. She was also reminded of the garden that had been their first stop. "Once you lot have finished looking around here, we'll head up the the Fire and Air islands." Riya closed her speech about the Earth area. Doug looked particularly relieved to hear that they were going to the Fire area. Tirali glanced up, noting a large floating island, connected to the main building with cables. None of her fellow students appeared too happy to be going up that high, except Luca. Tirali wasn't looking forward to it too much herself, which was surprising considering she was an Air sign. "Which part of the school have you enjoyed most do far?" she asked Kyra. Silverscale was being pestered by a bee that had bumbled over and now kept flying lazy circles around the dragon's head.

Maikela progressed on into the earth element section.

She had to admit its beauty,  although not as nostalgic as the water element section, there was some rather homey about it. Hummimg to herself, Maikela observed the grand trees, casting shade above them and scattering the forest floor with dappled specks of sunlight. The heavy muddy scent was also rather pleasant to the pisces due to the presence of water in the area. But despite all this, she managed to retain a perfectly stony expression.

Switching direction, Maikela approached Myr. The heiress drew a hand through her cotton candy hair as her eyes continued to subtly shift and change colour. "Did you find anything of interest back there?" she asked the theif quietly

"I have to say I've enjoyed the garden and the water areas so far. But this...wow, this is really cool here. I've never been on a floating island before. At least, that's what it feels like to me. I wonder if they use anti-gravity magic somehow. I know a few people who experiemnt with that sort of thing for airships and vehicles." Kyra replied, admiring the view as Tanto snarled at the bee, which then darted off in alarm. Kyra giggled at that.

"I guess Tanto doesn't like bees. He learned the hard way not to eat them when he got stung in the mouth. Poor guy was swolen for weeks." She told Tirali, glad to have a friend as she glanced at the other students. She went over to one of the statues of a bull - Taurus. It stood on a pedestal and was made from solid granite - grey granite to be exact. She knew because they sometimes used it for garden planters in the greenhouse.

"Hey Tirali, look at this! I've seen statues like this at the museum before back in Crab Port. I wonder if the same artist made it." She mused, glancing around and spotting Riya.

"Miss Riya!" She called, wanting to ask if the statue was as old as she thought it was

Myr | Capricorn

Myr looked around the Earth area and sighed. It was beautiful, and she did feel at home, but not as much as she’d hoped.

Part of her wasn’t surprised. She had never truly felt at home anywhere, including the Capricorn mountains where she had grown up. She looked up at the Air section they were supposed to go next, wondering if she would feel better there. She doubted it.

She had been just a few days old when she was found, so a little calculating assumed her to be a Capricorn. That assumption turned out to be correct when she discovered her ability of Density Manipulation years later. Yet she had never felt truly like the others, which was confirmed when her Aquarius heritage revealed itself.

Myr didn’t know who her parents were, and she didn’t care. She had fantasized about them often enough as a child, but eventually realized that was pointless. They could have been the poorest people in the country, or part of the upper nobility. It didn’t matter. They hadn’t wanted her, and she didn’t need them, building her own reputation in the world.

Footsteps pulled her from her thoughts, and she looked up to see Maikela approaching. She noticed her eyes shifting colour, wondering what the girl was up to.

“Did you find anything of interest back there?” Maikela asked quietly.

Myr hid a smirk, amused. So Miss Pink couldn’t restrain her curiosity after all, despite her feigned disinterest. She considered leaving Maikela hanging or telling her a fake story, but, she reasoned, Maikela knew she wasn’t the only one who left and if she didn’t tell or tricked her, she would find out the truth soon enough from one of the others.

“That fountain, back in the garden, that Kalden and Luca were looking at? There’s a thirteenth symbol on there, among the other twelve zodiac signs. We cleared it up a little with some wax and paper,” she said, making it sound like a team effort instead of Kalden doing all the work, which had technically been the case.

Kalden still had the paper, but she had other ways to show the sign. She raised her hand and had Tharn slide down her arm, peering at Maikela from the corner of her eye to watch her reaction. Looking like a living blob of transparent jelly, Tharn often evoked uncomfortable feelings in people.

She gently pushed him into the form she wanted, until he was sitting calmly on her palm in the shape of the mysterious ⛎ symbol.

"I see," Kalden said after a moment of considering Luca's words. Despite the light, teasing words, Kalden somehow felt a bit more at ease than before. "I'll keep that in mind. I'm sure I'll get used to it, since it's more the... lack of experience with it than the height itself."

Suddenly Kalden heard someone's voice call out. Looking back, he saw the Cancer sign seeming to call out for their tour guide's attention, standing near to the statue of a Taurus. Kalden had briefly noticed the sculpture in passing but didn't really look at it close until now. The Pisces had just gotten up to the metal elevator, pulling apart the metal doors on the contraption.

"Miss Riya!" The Cancer had called, prompting the Riya to look back and await the girl's question.

"Hear that Silverscale?" she said, rubbing Tanto's head. "Don't eat the bees." The little dragon chirped cheerfully. Tirali slowed a bit to take in the scenery, spotting some of the plants Kyra had shown her earlier.
"Hey Tirali, look at this!" Kyra called from farther down the path. She was standing in front of a statue of a Taurus. "I've seen statues like this at the museum before back in Crab Port. I wonder if the same artist made it." Kyra mused, then called to their guide, "Miss Riya?"
Tirali stepped forward to get a closer look. The granite state was carved with all sorts of little details. Silverscale didn't seem quite as impressed, diving into Kyra's backpack for yet another sandwich.

"I've seen similar statues to this one back at Crab Port's art museum. Wasn't this made by the artist Ashik S.k.ystrider? She made a set of statues of the Zodiac in their human forms for some ancient noble's garden. When the family died out, they were donated to the museum. There was also a sest of them in their animal forms, but they were owned by different people." Kyra asked, nodding to the bull statue she had pointed out to Tirali. Ashik Scensoredtrider was a renowned artist from the Tauros house herself. She had been known to have the ability of Earth manipulation from her art. Her statues were reveered for her precision with her house given talent.

“That fountain, back in the garden, that Kalden and Luca were looking at? There’s a thirteenth symbol on there, among the other twelve zodiac signs. We cleared it up a little with some wax and paper,” Myra explained.

She sounded like she was actually speaking the truth, which Maikela found interesting. She had half expected the thief to make something up.

Glancing over, Maikela appraised the mysterious symbol that Myr's little blob creature thing was making. She decided it best not to question the odd choice of pet, instead opting to raise an eyebrow at it.

"Okay." Maikela murmured, clearly in deep thought.

Her father had delivered her here to find a scoop and probably expose the school's secrects. But Maikela was pretty sure that she had just stumbled onto something much more interesting. A possible 13th star sign lost to time? How come no one knew about it? What happened to it? Where did it go?

So many questions, none of them yeilding answers.

"Very interesting." Maikela hummed then smiled sweetly. "Keep me updated on your discoveries, alright? I have access to more investigative resources than you'd know."

Luca also seemed to strike an interest in the other conversation, so Kalden shifted his own attention once again.

"You are correct," Riya said, taking a stride back several yards to where her fellow Water sign stood next to the statue.

"I wouldn't have known if it was just art from the Earth Houses," Riya continued. "But I have also seen one of her Pisces sculptures in the Koi City, and a few other cities while traveling. Her work is very distinctive and renowned. Nysa has been given many pieces of art for generations, so I wouldn't be surprised if the original owner donated it to the academy."

Kalden more closely regarded the statue of Taurus. Upon closer inspection, the work and details were amazing. He didn't say anything as he gazed at the bull, subconsciously shoving his hands in his pockets as he thought about his secondary power's connection to the Taurus House.

“Very interesting,” Maikela purred. “Keep me updated on your discoveries, all right? I have access to more investigative resources than you’d know.”

“We’re planning on going to the library this evening, and see what we can find. If you’re interested, you can come with us,” Myr informed her, a sharp edge to her tone, though her expression remained neutral. She had no intentions of being a pawn for Maikela, but she could admit the girl’s contacts and influence might open doors that would remain closed to her. Letting her tag along seemed like the most acceptable compromise.

She stroked an appreciative finger gently over Tharn's smooth surface and in response he vibrated in a way she’d come to associate with him being happy. She saw Maikela raise an eyebrow at him, but nothing more.

Tharn seemed interested in Maikela though, losing shape and swaying in her direction. She brought her hand closer to the other girl, until he was close enough to launch himself off her hand and onto Maikela’s shoulder.

She let him, curious how the ladylike girl would respond, but kept an eye on things, ready to intervene should she react violently and fling him off or something like that.

"“We’re planning on going to the library this evening, and see what we can find. If you’re interested, you can come with us." Myr addmitted with some acquiescence in her tone.

She did not appear to enjoy the prospect of working with the candy-haired heiress, but she was not daft enough to deny the promising offerr.

Maikela resisted the urge to smirk, instead merely replying with a curt, "I'll be there."

Maikela was about to peel away when she noticed the movements of Myr's peculiar slimy critter, slowly creeping towards her. Myr even help up a hand to permit the thing to launch itself onto Maikela's shoulder.

Having noticed the movement prior, Maikela did not react violently to something suddenly jumping her as she normally would have. In fact, she did not have a reaction at all to the thing on her shoulder, despite the unnerving sensation of it's weight on top of her coat.

Maikela continued to look forward with a dead-pan expression, not breaking stride nor paying it any mind.

Part of that was an uncertainty. She had no idea what the creature was capable of, nor she understand what it wanted. So it was best to allow it to do its own thing, similarly to how one would treat a bee. The rest of it was sheer egotism

"I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this is." Maikela mused in a crisp tone, still not looking at Myr or her pet.

"Ashik Scensoredtrider? Can't say I've heard of her," Tirali commented, not quite loud enough to be heard. "I wonder what happened to the other statues?"
She stepped aside as Riya came back beside them to get a closer look at the statue. "I wouldn't have known if it was just art from the Earth Houses, but I have also seen one of her Pisces sculptures in the Koi City, and a few other cities while traveling. Her work is very distinctive and renowned," their guide remarked.
"How long ago were the statues made? And, do you know of any others?" Tirali questioned, glancing between Kyra and Riya.

It was nice that there was a tour so that Bixby could know her way around, but at the same time she'd prefer maybe personal tours. She wasn't the best in big groups and always found herself decently shy, she could still talk how ever and wanted to introduce herself to some people so she could get to know some of the other people here. "H-hello" she muttered

Luca's interest in the statue and the conversation that surrounded it quickly dissipated, still keeping bored eyes on it until a muttered "hello" creeped into his ears. Looking around for the owner of the voice and found a shy looking girl talking to anyone who cared to listen. Luca sent a small wave of his hand and a smile to the girl.

Unlike most people, Maikela did not react at all to Tharn's arrival. Myr had expected as much, coming to the realization that Maikela was unflappable in all but every situation. Which made trying to get a reaction out of her all the more fun.

“I’m not entirely sure what the purpose of this is,” Maikela mused in reference to the blob now hitching a ride along on her shoulder.

“He’s just curious,” Myr said, watching the proceedings with interest, before adding, “He won’t hurt you.”

Tharn wasn’t sitting still either though. Myr knew he liked warmth, depended on it for survival, so she wasn’t at all surprised when he moved towards Maikela’s neck, snuggling against the warm skin there. He would have curled around it like a transparent necklace, but Myr didn’t like it when he did that with her. Despite knowing he wouldn’t hurt her, it made her feel like he was choking her and she had informed him very early on that she did not like that. She was pleased to see he connected the dots and refrained from doing it with Maikela as well.

Despite his superficial resemblance to a slug, Tharn didn’t leave a trail of slime behind, nor did he suck himself to a surface. He just slithered along peacefully, leaving where he had been like he had found it.

“I think he likes your hair,” Myr commented. She actually had no idea how Tharn perceived the world around him, lacking eyes, ears, pretty much anything really. Maybe he could sense the wavelength of colors? Whatever the case, he was definitely interested in Maikela’s brightly colored hair, crawling up onto her head and seemingly eating it up as he went, covering Maikela’s scalp like a transparent helmet.

“You don’t mind, do you?” Myr asked, allowing a smug undertone to seep into her voice. She was impressed by Maikela’s self-control. The girl hadn’t flinched once during Tharn's travelling, but she couldn’t be truly comfortable.

She knew Tharn would come immediately if she summoned him, but why bother when he was so relaxed perched on Maikela's head and the girl didn’t object to him being there?

Makiela sighed as she felt the thing traverse across her arm, sliding up her neck and sending shivers streaking down her spine. Still, she kept herself composed.

"He likes your hair." Myr commented, looking in sufferably proud of herself.

"You don't say." Maikela sighed, bringing her parasol to rest over her shoulder.  She flicked it open, tilting her head slightly in contemplation.

And then Maikela’s hair began to change colour. It swirled in flashed with lucid blues, deep purples and pastel pinks, mixing in with each other like food dye in water in an almost hypnotic dance.

“You don’t say,” Maikela said, sounding thoroughly bored. She flicked her parasol open in a lazy motion and tilted her head thoughtfully. A second later, a rainbow of colors washed over her hair, rippling together in almost hypnotic movements.

Regardless of how he perceived it, Tharn seemed to like the disco effect, bouncing happily up and down and making Maikela look like she was wearing a colorful jellyfish on her head.

Myr couldn’t help the grin breaking through. Not only did she enjoy the colorful show, but she could see Tharn vibrating with glee from where she stood. She could only imagine how Maikela felt with him on her head.

"None of the human form ones are here," Riya said, confirming Kyra's earlier mention of those being held at a museum. "But there's another one of her animal pieces on the Fire island, of Leo the lion. As for how old her pieces are... perhaps Kyra knows?" She asked the Cancer.

Kyra took a closer look at the stone statue, the bull was magnificent in acoin decorated harness and looking like it was ready to leap off the pedestal at any second. She had an idea of when it was made though.

"This is from the Third Dynastic Period, about 2,000 years ago. Ashik S.k.y.strider (for some reason it sensors the word s.k.y) carved this using her power on a block of pure Taurosian granite." She determined, not even using her natural sense of art to decide on that.

Riya nodded as Kyra talked about the dating of the statue. Kalden listened in without contributing anything at first. The Cancer seemed to know a lot about the artist. Kalden couldn't say he had heard of her himself, but quickly realized that if any of S.k.y.strider's artwork was in the Virgin City, it would have been in the upper levels that Kalden usually avoided.

But the craftsmanship on the Taurus bull was gorgeous, so much so that Kalden finally chimed in.

"While the fact she did this with her ability is amazing," The Virgo said, always one for traditional means, despite his House. "That she also did so without relying on modern technology many artists now use is remarkable, as well."

Luca's smile widen ever so slightly before his attention was taken once more by the Virgo's addition to the conversation. Taking another glance at the statue with some interest, tracing the details of the creature with his eyes as he tried to figure out how the artist did it with only her powers.

"Two thousand years? Wow, that's a long time," Tirali commented. A Virgo teen standing nearby jumped in, "While the fact she did this with her ability is amazing, That she also did so without relying on modern technology many artists now use is remarkable, as well." Tirali studied the statue again, this time seeing little details carved in. And she did this with only her ability? "How many statues did Ashik Scensoredtrider make in all?" she inquired. "Were there any besides the two sets?"

"No! Of course not! Not only did she do the 12 Houses, she did all the minor constellations too! There's an area in Crab Port called Dragon Square with a statue she made of Draco, he's at least as old as these guys. And in Virgin, there's a statue of the city's namesake Constellation in the city center!" Kyra told her friend, recalling the statues she knew about. She had cousins in the Virgin City after all. So of course she knew all the landmarks there. The Virgo statue was one of her favorites.

A soft chuckle escaped from Maikela’s lips as she shook her head slightly. Eventually the colours faded and her hair returned to it's normal state, well as normal as bright pink and blue can be. She glanced at Myr with an almost petulant expression as the creature thing continued to encapsulate the top of her head

Myr only winked at Maikela’s petulant look, turning to see what the others were up to. Seeing them all gathered around a statue of a bull, she went to join them, leaving Tharn on Maikela’s head. He seemed to be feeling adventurous, after all. When he grew bored of Maikela he might come back to her or hop over to someone else.

It was a nice statue, she realized, very detailed. She tuned in to the conversation, catching the last bit of what the Cancer student she’d seen talking to plants earlier was saying: “There's an area in Crab Port called Dragon Square with a statue she made of Draco, he's at least as old as these guys. And in Virgin, there's a statue of the city's namesake constellation in the city center!”

As the Cancer explained some more of S.k.y.strider's works, it piqued Kalden's attention when she mentioned more art pieces in the Virgin City. He kept in mind that one day when he returned to his hometown, he would try to seek out those pieces, even if it meant an unusual trip up to the top of the Virgo cliffside.

The thought of the city caused a pang of nostalgia in the teen. The slums of the Virgin territory wouldn't be considered wonderful to outsiders, not like the main city was regarded, but the Virgo did miss the life there. All that he had known or come to know had been there until he was swept away to Nysa because of the unpredictability of his kinetic absorption. And he had been suddenly torn away from his father in such a short time. No matter their distant relationship, it was an odd feeling.

He rubbed his gloved fingers together out of habit while deep in thought.

Kalden's contemplation was interrupted when Riya glanced at the sky above the ridge. The cablecar had almost entirely descended to the wooden platform.

"Perhaps we can continue this conversation on the ride up," She suggested. "We can see the Leo statue close to the entrance of the Fire island."

At the mention of the lion sign, Kalden took notice of a very shy looking girl nearby to Luca. She seemed to be on the younger side of the group's age bracket, but Kalden took a guess that she herself was a Leo.

In an attempt to assign more names to faces, rather than just referring to people as their zodiacs in his mind, Kalden nodded to the girl.

"Greetings, I am Kalden," He said with his usual cool but polite attitude. "And your name?"

"All the minor constellations? That must've taken years," Tirali said. "Do you know if there are any in Aquaria?" she wondered, trying to remember if she'd ever seen any. Riya jumped in at this point, glancing up above the ridge. "Perhaps we can continue this conversation on the ride up," she suggested. "We can see the Leo statue close to the entrance of the Fire island." Tirali followed her gaze up and saw a cable car descending slowly towards them. She gulped. We're getting on that? Silverscale peeked his head around the edge of Kyra's backpack again and tried to stealthily eat some tiny insects flying nearby. Tirali patted his head. "Sandwiches weren't enough? You silly." Silverscale just chirped quietly and ducked back under cover.

Kyra smiled as Riya suggested they move to the fire island, especially after Silverscale snapped a mosquito from her ear.

"Hey, whatever works to keep the bugs away. When you bring him over to my dorm, I'll make him some of my Grandma's dragon treats. She has a full sized water dragon for a mount/pet named Cinnamon. She may look big and scary, but she's nothing but a big ol' cinnamon roll! So the name stuck." She told her friend, glancing over at Riya. She didn't know for sure if there were any of Ashik S.k.ystrider's work in Aquaria, but they could always look that up on the computer or something.

"I cannot say for sure, but if she really did do all the minor constellations, I'm sure she must have completed those nearby to the Aquarius formation, like Aquila, Cetus, or Pegasus." Riya said, in answer to Tirali's question, beginning to make her way back towards the ridgeside and lead the group to the next area. "But whether those are in Aquaria, I do not know."
