Maikela Nix | Pisces

Maikela found it to be quite peculiar that Riya had not noticed nor chastised her or Myr on their unseemly behaviour. Regardless, Maikela could always play the victim card. After all, she had no control over her current state.

Taking a leap off of the tree, Maikela adroitly glided through the air, her lithe body tucking into a forward flip before straightening herself out.

Maikela inverted herself and closed her eyes, peacefully swaying up top the breeze as she drifted across the garden area. Her cotton candy hair spilled out around her, artistically framing her face like swirls of pink and blue food colouring in a glass of water. Maikela would even consider herself idealistic at that moment, peacefully drifting in an environment where she felt security and belonging.

Maikela seemed completely at ease, floating on the breeze. Myr realized there was no way their guide hadn’t noticed part of her charge hanging over the treetops, but curiously she hadn’t intervened. Maybe this kind of thing happened regularly and she was used to it. Certain signs were bound to clash after all.

But now the Pisces woman announced they would be moving on to the Water and Earth areas, so Myr decided to interrupt Maikela’s nap.

“Wake up, we’re moving on,” she called. If you want to come down, I suggest you ask nicely.

Truth be told, Myr was going to bring her down anyway (one thing she couldn't do was move an object whose density she had changed, and Sauren still had Maikela's and the watery air's gravity stuck to the leaves), but Maikela’s response would determine how dignified her descent would be.

"Wake up, we are moving on. " Myr's tone jostled Maikela from her tranquility.

Flipping herself back around, the candy haired heiress pouted slightly before inclining her head in agreement. Delicately, she folded he hands against her lap and smiled pleasantly down at Myr. "Then may you please allow me down??" She asked sweetly, her tone dripping with that cordial politeness that she always used. It was always part of the noble lady appearance she maintained, besides. It never hurt to be polite. Even in battle. No matter how little respect her opponents deserved, Maikela always treated them with pleasantries and politeness. Which could sometimes come across as condescending however, most of the time Maikela was being genuine.

Myr raised an eyebrow at Maikela, her tone so perfectly polite it edged into mockery, but she prepared to bring her down anyway. She was far too entertaining to leave behind after all.

Sauren moved Maikela’s gravity back to the ground, and Myr first increased the density of Maikela’s shinbones (without warning the girl, of course) allowing her to counter the buoyancy of the watery air in the same way hippos did. Once the heiress was standing securely on the floor of her private dry pool, pink and blue hair fanning out to frame her face, Myr returned the density of the air to normal. Almost as an afterthought, she restored the density in Maikela’s bones so the girl could walk without looking like she had invisible clumps of heavy metal stuck to her legs.

((Ahem. Sorry. XD))

Sauren unlatched Maikela's gravity from the leaves above her, though the cotton candy princess and her antics were quite amusing. Myr took it all in stride, of course, and returned Maikela to normality.

Riya was finally moving them along to the Water and Earth areas. Finally something she looked forward to.

Tirali nodded along to Kyra's advice, then looked up as Riya told them to wrap up what they were doing, it was time to see the Water and Earth areas. She realized guiltily she hadn't been paying attention to a single thing the older woman had said, but she shrugged it off figuring no one else had been listening either. She stood up, glancing around to see what was going on at the moment. Doug was talking to two other teens. The floating girl was back on the ground, seemingly unfazed by her flight. Tirali reached down to say goodbye to the plants for now, "Bye Gabriel, Fox, Sophia. It was nice to meet you, I hope I can come back to see you soon."

There was a big crowd on the other side of the outside area where I think they were having some sort of assembly. I had kept walking when the crowd stopped however and ended up farther away, but then decided to explore some more. There wasnt much on this side except for some cool rock formations and statues. One of them looked very climb-able. Veeery climb-able...

Luca chuckled lightly as Doug spoke, stringing together the words in his head to respond to his innocence.

"No.. They're not siblings, but the all have the slight tendency to scream 'I'm from a criminal background and won't hesitate to mess you up if provoked'" he chirped, watching the cotten candy haired girl descend to the ground. With the gathering crowd, Luca followed the rest, a small yawn escaping him as he waited for Riya to continue on.

"Well.. I mean. I'm sure they still have the option to... not. Follow... their parents..." he croaked, looking around the area with slight hesitance.

"Uhmmm... hey where you from again? I don't remember if I caught that info" he chirped, bright eyes staring at Doug with a slightly open, toothy, smile.

Doug doesn't really know what

Doug doesn't really know what to think when Luca said that they have the option not to follow the parents. His brain seemed to short circut briefly either as a defense mechanism, a way to process new found information or something else entirely that laid dormant. he also lack the context that is "The fury sisters" background to truly. understand what he meant. So he just blinked.

Luca's friendly approach did a good job distracted Doug from that converstion and he's quick to brighten up again "Oh it's called Arian I think, The volcano near the great desert? It's quite gloomy unlike this place. I like it here." Doug said

Maikela was pleasantly suprised to find herself gracefully floating downwards. A wide smile fell across her lips as her feet touched the ground, her hair still siwlring around her shoulders. Slowly her  hair returned to normal the feeling of her gravity snapping back sent a sickening wave of dizziness over her. Blinking a few times, Maikela shook it off then quickly returned to the rest of the group.

"Wasn't that just lovely?" She trilled happily, falling into step next to Myr and Sauren.

Kalden Sternok | Virgo

After everyone began to move once again, Riya led them through the garden's exit. They walked by some more neutral areas and buildings along the pathway, descending some stairs to a lower walkway, likewise to the ones Kalden saw leading into the school. This lower level of the school was situated nearby to the river that naturally wound its way around the school's almost entirety. Waterfalls of varying sizes rushed nearby, spilling into the river in elegant cascades. From them emitted a pleasant hum of moving water, with slight mists carrying over via the gentle wind to where the group walked and conversed.

Situated at a lower level, the sun was not quite as persistently heating the area, its rays absorbed by the surrounding water and creating aquatic reflections and cool hues in the area. Small rainbows seemed to shimmer in the wet air. The hand-crafted walkway underfoot was perpetually damp, and the surrounding grass and naturally growing flowers sported drops of water that reflected the group like small eyes as they passed by. The place seemed to sport many plants, however in far less variety to the garden they had just visited. The plants probably primarily hailed from the Water Houses; aside from providing decor, they perhaps aided Cancers with plant manipulation.

At different points in the Water-element area, Kalden noticed large carved, slide-like structures that directed water artificially away from their sources. They looped around, nearby to the path, as well as overhead, closer to the falls. They seemed to be ways for people to travel by water downwards, rather than walk, provided the user didn't mind getting wet. In the river below, small wooden outcrops and elegantly crafted boats floated in the bubbling water. The riverbanks were lovely, a mixture of natural and man-made additions to keep the water at bay. Many areas below allowed places for people to sit along the water near the spiral stairs that led downwards to the river-level at different intervals. A few of the water slides directly dumped their water into the river. Long swings and ropes were tied to the limbs of nearby towering trees, allowing for students to swing out over the water or drop off into the deeper and calm areas of the river that didn't have large rocks.

There were also sandy, drier areas with less plant-life, probably to cater to Scorpio signs, whom, while Water signs, often hailed from less vegetated areas to their other Water-element counterparts. These heated areas of bronze sand beautifully reflected. Shrubby trees, cacti, and small dunes and pools worked together to imitate peaceful desert oasis'.

On the regular levels the group walked into, different fountains and bridges dotted the primary congregation stemming off the main walkway. It was more neutral, with fewer water sources, but still shown Water-element craftsmanship and elegance. It seemed like a great area even for less-water oriented signs to visit.

Kalden looked around some more, noting that the waterfalls' orientation along their walk seemed to lead to a cliff under the school, a huge opening at the bottom. The waterfall that cascaded down the other side shimmered with each Water House symbol; ♋︎, ♏︎, and ♓︎.

"This is, obviously, the Water-area of the campus. All signs are allowed into the main areas that you've seen, although dorm entry and such are a lot more restricted. A water sign will have to allow you to enter if you don't have a pass of your own into the area." Riya explained, nodding towards the cliff in reference to the dorms. There were holographic doorways that most likely scanned for student ID to allow entry.

Sauren walked into her favorite part of the school. The feel of soft sand running through her fingers and between her toes was irreplaceable and soothing. She couldn't control everything, and nothing could control her, so she would enjoy her life to its fullest. Sometimes, she threw that logic to the wind, especially on nights of Ecstasy, but other times, that principle was the backbone of all her shrewdness.

When Sauren came here for breaks or for a good ditching spot, she looked for a secluded spot first. If one wasn't to be found, she made one, scaring off any unwanted intruders to her private contemplation.

"It was a pleasure to meet you as well Tirali, feel free to come back any time you like!" Fox replied, the other plants agreeing whole heartedly as the girls rejoined their group, of course Tanto was now back in Kyra's backpack with Silverscale by the time she translated the farewells and invitation to return to Tirali.

"They say that you can come back whenever you like. I find it helps when the plants want you to come back. You know that eerie feeling you sometimes get even on a sunny day when you go into the woods or a certain cove? That's the plants saying they don't want you there in the only way they know how." Kyra told her friend, Tanto popping up with a half a sandwich in his beak that he gobbled down greedily

Tirali glanced at Kyra's backpack as she relayed the plants message. Tanto had popped up, eating half a sandwich, and he gulped it down as Silverscale leaped up for it, but missed and tumbled back into the backpack. Tirali giggled, then followed the group to the Water element area. Waterfalls tumbled all around as the group walked through. The area looked like a calm, quiet place to hang out with friends. Silverscale poked his head out again, and Tirali shot him a warning glance. "Don't cause trouble, little guy," she whispered to him. "Follow Tanto's example,  he's staying quiet."

Kyra immediately felt at ease once they entered the waterfall garden, it was her element after all. Whenever she felt stressed, she always tried to find the nearest garden to vent to the plants, or the nearest source of water to calm herself down. Even Tanto seemed to relax here - even if it was just a little for the griffin. Tanto twittered, glancing at his owner over her shoulder, half out the backpack with his talons on her well padded shoulder.

"I know, so much better than what we get back home, but don't tell the Neriads I said that - or the nymphs. You know how easily offended they get." She hissed to the griffin, glancing at Tirali.

"One of my teachers back home was a Nymph - or half nymph at least. Her family lived in and near the river by my school. They sometimes pop up even in waterfall areas like this." She whispered, wanting to preserve the calm without speaking louder than the falls

The familiar sound of water thudding  against damp stone played a nostalgic symphony in Maikela's ears. Her eyes glistened in anticipation as she picked up her pace. She did not realize how much she missed the tumultuous dance of the sea kissing the ragged rocks of the shoreline, or the feeling of the spray pelting refreshingly against her features.

While Maikela managed to maintain a neutral mask of indifference,  her apathy did not quite reach her eyes as she gazed out across the water sign campus. The sound of water cascading across the well beaten terrain felt indescribably serene. Maikela slowly closed ner parasol and gracefully knelt by the lakes edge. Gravel mixed with sang crunch under the weight of her neatly folded needs as she gently discarded her parasol by her thigh.

Maikela raised her hand to her face,  momentarily regarding her gloved fingers. A hidden smirk crossed her face as she looked up, gazing across at Sauren who appeared not to far off- seemingly basking in the sensation of sand under her toes.

Maikela had never been fond of sand. It was coarse and rough... and it got everywhere  ((HAHAHA! I had to. Sorry)). To each their own, she supposed.

As the candy-haired heiress regarded Sauren, trying to catch the Scorpio's eye, she flirtatiously raised her gloved hand to her lips. Pinching the malleable leather of her gloved index finger between her teeth, she slowly and fluidly pulled the glove off,  fingers grazing across her mouth and not once breaking eye contact.

Maikela did thoroughly enjoy messing around and teasing her fellow students.

The group paused once more as some of the students gazed around at their beautiful surroundings. Despite their differences, the four Water signs seemed to share a mutual enjoyment of their elemental surroundings. Luca and Doug had been conversing about the Aries' homeland. The description Doug had given was quite different from their current view. Kalden was curious about what the Fire elementals thought of such a wet environment, as their Houses and element heavily contrasted.

Kalden appreciated the area from a visual and aesthetic standpoint. He'd never seen any place like it. Despite being surrounded by architecture, the area resonated with the feeling of natural nature. The waterfalls and rivers boasted power and beauty that existed far before humans tried their hand at replicating.

He briefly regarded the sand near the riverbank, eying the substance clinging to his damp boots stickily. The Virgo had never been around large water sources and had not often seen so much of sand, but it did resonate with his element. The biggest turnoff for Kalden was that sand was often in secluded areas, it wasn't consistent or manageable, and it reflected so much light. He decided he preferred more neutral dirts, clays, and stone. Those earthy elements were malleable to hands and were hard-fast even in nature. Similar to water, sand almost had its own mind. They both could be contained, easily moved, and beautiful, but also unpredictable and dangerous.

While the others walked around and Riya took a break from talking, Kalden stepped up to her side. The Pisces didn't acknowledge his presence until he spoke up to her.

"In the garden earlier," Kalden said, cutting quickly to the chase. In his few days of knowing Riya, he knew she and him both preferred skipping to the point. "I saw the fountain with the goddess and the star signs around it. But on the furthest side, there's a faded spot, as if something else should be carved there, even though all 12 signs are accounted for. Do you know what it could have been?"

"I know what you speak of," Riya rubbed her chin as she considered the topic. Perhaps she thought the question random, but she answered without visible judgment. "But there's never been anything there as long as I've been here. It is odd, but never something I thought about."

"Right. Well, thanks." Kalden said, a bit disappointed in her response. He wasn't sure why or what it was about the fountain that was bothering him so much. Perhaps the fact that there were 13 spaces when that number was usually avoided in most societies, thought to bring bad luck. It wasn't that all odd numbers were superstitious, there were three Houses per element. But twelve was the most harmonious number, constructed by multiplying the three houses by the four elements. When involving unity of the signs, anything less than twelve was simply incomplete, any more than twelve was both impossible and unbalanced.

Myr | Capricorn

Myr looked around the water area, appreciative of its beauty but more wary than she had been in the garden. She wasn’t one for water, never had been. She could swim, but only well enough to not drown.

Her two companions didn’t seem to share her feelings. They were both water signs, after all. Maikela knelt by the lake and gazed at the water almost reverently, while Sauren was burrowing her feet into the sand with a similar serene expression on her face. Myr wasn’t very fond of sand either. Due to the particles it was made up of being relatively big, it was tricky to manipulate. Soil was much the same, despite earth being her own element. She wondered if she would feel more at home in the Earth area that was to come next.

When Maikela began her flirtation assault on Sauren, Myr suddenly felt fed up with the heiress’ antics and walked away from the two with a roll of her eyes. Can that girl not go two seconds without feeling the need to play around with someone?

She turned away from the water’s edge, a path that inadvertently brought her closer to Kalden and their Pisces guide, who seemed to be discussing something. At first she thought her fellow earth sign was just asking the woman something about the water area, but then she caught the last words of their conversation.

“…what you speak of,” the Pisces said. “But there’s never been anything there as long as I’ve been here. It is odd, but never something I thought about.”

That didn’t sound like something trivial about the waterfalls surrounding them. Myr’s curiosity was piqued. So when Kalden walked away from the woman, she put herself in his line of sight and asked, with her typical directness, “What was that about?”

Despite Kalden and Myr's limited history of interactions, the Capricorn showed no hesitation of asking what Kalden and Riya had been discussing, exposing her eavesdropping on at least part of the short conversation. Earth signs were all known for directness, but the Capricorn was perhaps more straightforward than even a Taurus with her question.

"What was that about?" She asked.

Kalden's mind rushed through different ways to respond. It was difficult to explain the topic without showing it.

"I don't know how it's taught in your territory," Kalden said, answering her question just as directly. "But thirteen is an extremely frowned upon number to associate with the signs, including in art, and especially in religious pieces. That fountain in the garden earlier is clearly old, but it had thirteen spaces, twelve with the sign symbols, and the last one is too faded to see. Artists hundreds of years ago would have been even more aware of this, and more superstitious. That's why so many old pieces, even unrelated to the signs, often skip over the number. I don't know why someplace like this would have such a statue."

Kalden wasn't sure what exactly Myr's past entailed. If she was involved in the underworld, and anything to do with high priced items, then perhaps she'd understand what he spoke of regarding the topic. Kalden wasn't superstitious himself, but the number was so oddly regarded in society that the fountain stuck in his mind, so out of place it was.

They reached the water signed

They reached the water signed area and much like other students and other place before, Doug still appreaciate the scenario even if this place is for a sign opposite to his own

"this has to be the most water I've ever seen" He mumbled without prompt. Being near desert and volcano, water are naturally scared for living but it's not something Aries are crazy about either and outside of a few uses. There are no body of water larger than well other than the underground water system that hide away from any aries eyes. To Doug this place is strange and pretty but there're also something about too much water that made Doug uncomfortable or feel that it's not for him. The sound of running water isn't as therapeutic to Doug as it might be to others. The part of the answer is quite obvious to; Doug couldn't swim. (and of course the fact the he's a fire sign and somewhere inside even if it's not tought and even if Doug been immune to discrimination thought so far, a natural instinct kick in)

Even though Water was not her element, Tirali still felt at ease in the garden. All the waterfalls tumbling together made a soothing sound. "One of m teachers back home was a nymph - or half nymph at least. Her family lived in and head the river by my school," Kyra whispered, barely audible. "Probably, if you hang around long enough. How much you wanna bet some of the water aligned teachers are nymphs?" Kyra agreed, still keeping her tone quiet. She saw a few shapes darting in and out of the spray - water dragons and koi mostly. They were popular in gardens. One little dragon, no larger than one of the bigger koi, swam over, poking her head up to greet the new students with a happy warble, sniffing curiously at Silverscale and Tanto, the griffin sniffing back in return.

Myr hummed thoughtfully. That was odd. At least now she knew what Kalden and Luca had been looking at. She wasn’t overly superstitious herself, but she knew of people that refused to go to work on the thirteenth day of the month and things like that for such reasons. And what Kalden said was true, ages ago people would have been even more superstitious. She briefly entertained the thought that maybe there used to be a thirteenth sign, but that was impossible. References to such a sign would have been able to be found in history books and ancient texts and the like, and she had never heard of anything disagreeing with the fact that there had been twelve signs since the beginning of time.

She looked over her shoulder, wondering if she could go back to the garden and take a look for herself. It occurred to her that she could theoretically ask Maikela to create an illusion of her to fool their guide for a while, but she dismissed that idea straightaway, not trusting the girl not to pull some trick on her.

Well, the Pisces woman didn’t seem like the type that would stop her from leaving, probably correctly guessing that being forced to stay would make her try to leave all the more, and going back to the garden to look would probably be more interesting than staying here, especially since Sauren and Maikela seemed wrapped up in their own antics and the others were gaping at the waterfalls.

“Want to show me?” she asked Kalden. She was going anyway, but she was curious if he would come. Earlier, she had classified him as boring, but perhaps there was more to him than she could see.

Kalden eyed Riya for a moment. He figured she would be irritated by some of the students running off, but the Pisces didn't force them to come in the first place. If he and Myr were quick, they could probably beeline for the Earth area after they finished in the garden and not miss much. Most of their companions were playing around or gazing about the interesting water world, and no one listened much to the tour anyway.

Kalden nodded to the other Earth sign, turning on foot to swiftly retrace their steps back to the garden area only a few minutes back from the Water location.

Pleasantly surprised, Myr followed Kalden out of the water area, resisting the urge to look back at the group over her shoulder.

The walk back to the garden took only a few minutes, and where they entered they found it empty. Myr went straight to the fountain she had seen Luca and Kalden standing by, walking around it once and kneeling by the thirteenth symbol.

“It looks almost like it’s been scratched away...” she mused, stroking a finger over the faded sign.

((sorry, was a bit busy today. but basically, stuff is starting to show up that's odd and reminiscent of the 13th sign. they don't know what any of it means, but people can gradually start seeing stuff like serpents, abnormal placements in the night sky for the time of year, etc. leading up to the great reveal.))

"Indeed," Kalden nodded at Myr's observation. The marking on the thirteenth stone almost seemed slightly more visible than earlier when he saw it, but Kalden wasn't certain enough to mention it. It was no more revealed what the carving had once been than earlier.

"If we had some pale powder, like flour..." Kalden muttered, thinking about how people would use a method to read old gravestones by whitening the worn away areas to make the names and inscriptions more easily legible.

"Or some paper, we could rub wax along it to try to imprint it on the paper. But I'm not sure if it's too far gone." Kalden frowned.

"There's probably at least one in the school. This place is huge!" Tirali exclaimed, still in a whisper. "What are nymphs like?" she questioned. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed two of the other students sneaking back to the garden they'd just left. She briefly wondered what they were doing, then was distracted by a little water dragon that was saying hello to Silverscale and Tanto. Silverscale seemed quite interested in the newcomer and was almost falling out of the backpack to get closer. He was chirping quickly and seemed very enthusiastic.

"Why not find out for yourself? Nymphs are just like you humans after all!" A Nymph commented, popping up beside the two girls as they reached the edge of the falls.

Kyra yelped in surprise as the cerulean haired girl laughed. She landed flat on her but still managed to retain some of her dignity.

"Seriously, you nymphs love scaring people, don't ya!?" She asked, earning another laugh from the nymph.

"HAH! That's the fun of living in a waterfall! It's a good way to make sure you guys are paying attention! Anyways, name's Nikalia Silverfall by the way. I'm one of the Water sign student advisors! We have a study group here every Saturday morning at 9. So if you need help with homework or anything else, you're welcome to join us no matter what sign you're from!" The Nymph replied, introducing herself with a grin on her face that split it from ear to ear.

"Hi Riya! Showing the new crop of students around?" The nymph asked, seeing who was guiding the students through her section of the falls in the gardens. Tanto rolled his eyes, giving Silverscale a look that said "Nymphs are so annoying" which Nikalia ignored.

"Hmm," Kalden grabbed his satchel, digging through it. He knew he hadn't any flour or powder on him, the more optimal of the two methods he had mentioned. But perhaps he had something that would work in place of the other items he mentioned.

Kalden didn't have any truly blank paper, but he grabbed a sketched upon make-shift blueprint from towards the bottom of the bag. He glanced over the rough drawing and scribbles before turning the paper over to the blank side against the stone. He shuffled around once more for a stick of writing wax. Neither item was the optimal, but it would perhaps do.

"There we are," He said.

Kalden pressed down on the paper, and began rubbing the wax back and forth on the surface. At first, it seemed as if nothing was happening except smears of the dark wax spreading around where he drew with it. The thin width of the wax prevented much from being revealed at once, unlike what a more flat and long piece would.

The Virgo felt a bit annoyed after about a minute, thinking maybe his theory wasn't going to work. However, suddenly the wax passed over the areas of the paper pushed into the carved areas, leaving those blank amidst the wax filling the ungroved areas of the paper. The wax steadily filled up all but some specified lines in the stone.

Finally, Kalden pulled the paper away. What was left on the paper wasn't perfect, in fact, very messy and crude. Something shaped like a U with a squiggly line through it revealed on the face of the paper: ⛎. Some random smaller lines broke through it, maybe marks from where the carving had been scraped away, ruining complete clarity of the picture, but it was definitely a symbol of some sort, that they could now tell.

"I've never seen this before, have you?" He asked Myr, turning the paper to her.

[Riya Syren]

Riya turned to where two younger girls in her group were, upon hearing her name called. It took her a moment more to notice the blue-haired water nymph that lived in the nearby waterfall, slightly blending into their aquatic surroundings.

"Hi, Nikalia." Riya responded to the familiar face. The Pisces knew many of the local water nymphs due to her many years at the school and living in the water area. "Sure am, right back to work even after being gone for a week to find one of them," She rolled her eyes, but her tone was light.

Myr looked on skeptically, raising an eyebrow as Kalden began smearing a stick of wax on a piece of scrawled-on paper, both of which he had fished out of his satchel.

At first, nothing happened, and she was in fact just about to get up with an unimpressed “Well – you tried,” when a figure began taking shape on the paper. Kalden noticed it too, rubbing with renewed vigour, until finally the image was as clear as it was going to get.

“Huh. Can’t believe that actually worked,” she said half-impressed, studying the paper. It was hard to tell what exactly it was, but it looked like something of a U with a sort of horizontal curving line through it. Then again, that last part could also be a result of the sign having been scratched away.

“I’ve never seen this before,” Kalden mused. “Have you?”

Over the years, many rare and valuable pieces had changed owners through her hands, but Myr couldn’t recall ever having seen something like this. “Can't say that I have. But this place has a huge library. Might be it’s mentioned in there somewhere?”

Sauren Kavvyndesh ⨕ Scorpio

((Wow, so sorry! I have been busy and tired of late!! XD))

Sauren snorted at Maikela's flirtatious antics, internally rolling her eyes.

Myr had butted into a conversation with Kalden. Sauren caught a few phrases as the breeze picked up, something that intrigued her instincts. Thirteen. Art. Faded. Superstitious. Now that sounded like fun. And it sounded similar to what her father had briefed her about the last two years before she'd left for Nysa.

"When you hear of thirteen, advance and learn all you can. Nysa is a place full of students, and thus gossip. There will definitely be whispers once things start to show up.

Sauren shook off the sand from her feet and sauntered past Maikela, blowing her a taunting kiss as she passed the pink candied princess.

She shadowed Myr and Kalden, glancing to make sure Riya was preoccupied. She caught them examining part of a fountain, Kalden holding a piece of paper that had a strange symbol on it... Neither of them had noticed her approach.

Tirali Swift

"Why not find out for yourselves?" Tirali started at the voice from the water, stumbling but managing not to fall. SIilverscale, who had already been precariously balanced, jumped a few inches and tumbled out of the backpack completely. He licked some dirt off his scales, stuck out his tounge at the nymph, and flew back up to Tanto, where he glared at the nymph, who was still laughing. Why does everyone at this school seem to want to scare me? she grumbled to herself. "H-hi Nikalia, its... Nice? To meet you." she stammered, trying to be polite at least. Tanto shot Silverscale a glance that said, 'nymphs are so annoying '. Silverscale, who had been searching for the water dragon, slumped back down and grumbled softly, saying 'I agree. Now I want to set something on fire.' The tbought seemed to cheer him up and he sat upright again, though still glaring at the nymph.

Luca Morrison

Luca covered his hand over his mouth as he let out a small yawn, looking around the sandy areas and waterfall scenery. Stepping a little aways from the waters edge and trying to avoid getting sand in his shoes as he walked. Slight annoyance raising in his head as they continued on. Luca decided to distract himself, counting the heads of the people around, noticing the Cancer and Aquarius girls talking with some nymphs. Then watched as a nymph went to chat with Riya. He continued to look over the people that he was with and had noticed a few familar faces wander back to the way they came. The Scorpio following shortly after. Causing Luca's head to tilt in curiosity, he slowly made his way back as well, not entirely caring about who saw him leave or not.

After seeing the entrance to the garden and the three other teens crowding around the statue again, he turned off into a smaller hall. A few seconds of walking and he found himself at a dead end, tilting his head up to see a string hanging a little above his head. With a small tug of the string and a small step back, a ladder fell down. Quickly climbing up it and pulling the ladder up as he reached the top, then crouched his way to the end of the square passage. Soon coming up to the end where a small cat walk linned the wall, all covered by leaves and vines. Luca now watched the three stare at a paper in Kalden's hands, head tilting a little more than usual as he tried to figure out what they were looking at. Listening to their conversation to try and get a better idea.

“I’ve never seen this before, have you?” Kalden mused, showing the paper to Myr as she responded with “Can't say that I have. But this place has a huge library. Might be it’s mentioned in there somewhere?." A small hum rumbled from Luca's throat as he sat on the railing, slightly poking his head out of the plants cover.

'They have to be talking about that 13th addition from the statue' He concluded, sitting around to watch what happens next.

Maikela Nix | Pisces

Maikela giggled as Sauren passed her, flirtatiously blowing a kiss on her way.

The cotton-candy heiress tracked the Scorpio's progress across the courtyard. She followed after Myr and Kalden who seemed to be engrossed on one topic or another. Shortly thereafter, Luca pursued which prompted a suspicious reaction from Maikela.

What were all four of them doing?

She was tempted to follow, the decided against it. Last she heard, they were talking about some old statue. Not something Maikela had any particular interest in.

The pisces girl returned her attetion to the crystaline lake and tilted her head. She reached out with her now ungloved hand, her fingertips grazing its surface. She reflection sparkled as she disturbed the placid pool, sending ripples sprawling out in either direction.

Cooing softly, Maikela focused. A tendril of water crept from the lake and up her arm, twisting around it and pooling at her elbows. Maikela lifted her arm and the water tendril arched above her, seperating into four seperate spheres. The glimmering orbs encircled Maikela, spinning and dancing around her.

With a smirk, Maikela flicked her finger, causing a giant pillar of water to rise from the lake, circling around itself like an upwards waterspout before crashing down into the surface below

((Just a note. Maikela isn't actually controlling water lol))

Kyra Marchesi

Kyra rolled her eyes. Nymphs were like that. They just loved surprising people when they thought they could get a laugh from it. She knew that from all the times she fell into tidepools from when the Neriads tried that sort of stunt at the beach. It was fine the first few times, but after that it just got annoying. She glanced back in time to see Tanto give Silverscale a reassuring nudge with his wing before glaring daggers at the blue haired nymph and scolding her in Griffin.

"Watch your langauge, Mister!" Kyra scolded, the griffin shutting up immediately before ducking back into the backpack. She rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to the nymph.

"Sorry about that, Tanto gets a little protective of his friends." Kyra apologized, having seen what happened with Silverscale. Nikalia giggled, reaching out to scratch Silverscale  under the chin.

"Well, I can see why. He's an adorable little dragon. Some kind of crossbreed if I'm not mistaken. Is he yours? He looks like he'd be right at home with a water sign." Nikalia asked, glancing at Kyra, who shook her head.

"Nope, just the pocket griffin. Silverscale belongs to Tirali here. He's just hanging out in my pack for the tour to keep Tanto company." Kyra explained, earning a nod of approval.

"Well, from what I can tell, he's an Earth aligned animal. But I can see why he adores you! Your signs are compatible after all! But...there's something about you...you're one of the new students with incompatible powers, right? I heard they were bringing in a few like that. This happens from time to time, but never so many at once!" Nikalia asked, glancing at Riya.

"If the rumors I'm hearing are true, then the old legends are acting up again. I'm glad to see the school is already taking action to deal with it." The nymph told their guide, which caught Kyra's attention as she looked down at the tiled mosaic path with the 12 signs. What legend was she talking about? Something to do with the Houses and Sings? She made a mental note to look into this at the dorm library if she could get her hands on a few books later

[Kalden Sternok]

“Can't say that I have. But this place has a huge library. Might be it’s mentioned in there somewhere?” Myr suggested. Kalden nodded. He hadn't yet seen the library, but he didn't doubt that it was probably as impressive as the rest of the Nysa.

"Perhaps," Kalden nodded. "If you know where it is, we could try to find out something about it. I'm sure they have some really old writings, so it's worth a shot."

((not making Kalden notice Sauren yet, in case you wanted to add more before @Bohemian))

[Riya Syren]

"If the rumors I'm hearing are true, then the old legends are acting up again. I'm glad to see the school is already taking action to deal with it." Nikalia speculated. Riya gave the nymph a curious look, not revealing any feeling one way or the other on the vague wording.

"Indeed," She said, not elaborating either, with the two students right by their side, and the other Pisces and Aries nearby. "Nysa is quick to have everything under control, as usual."

Doug, unsurprisingly, got

Doug, unsurprisingly, got semi bored fast when he's not in his element despie previous wonders. No one is currenty intteract with him.(To be fair he hasn't initiate it) Myr avoided him entirely. So It's a matter of time Doug would find a more interesting stuff to lach on to.

Between the nymphs and his firt two friend and the teacher and between sneaking around to look for clues with the previous three person he tried to start conversation with---Nymphs got his attention more! So he stayed with the group and Riya while continue to gaze in wonder at them.

"Hi--Hi Nikalia, it's...nice? to meet you?" Tirali stammered and sounded unsure. Nikalia is certainly interesting with her flare of showing up out of the water and scared the girls. Her playful attitude got Doug's attention even when water is not Doug's thing.

"Hi!" He greeted good naturely and even offer the Nymphs his hand.

The nymphs then moved on to talked to the teacher about something Doug has no clue of so he just gived them a curious puppy look.

((I was about to go with the 13th sign plot but notice it was getting too crowd so Doug will stay))

Tirali Swift

Tanto appeared mad at the nymph and scolded her, earning a reprimand from Kyra to "watch your language!" Tirali was glad she couldn't understand what the little griffin was saying. Doug had wandered over and introduced himself to Nikalia, and now the nymph was talking to Riya, something about legends and signs. A few other students had disappeared, she hadn't seen where they went.

"If the rumors I'm hearing are true, the old legends are acting up again. I'm glad to see the school is already taking action to deal with it," the nymph remarked to Riya.

"Indeed. Nysa is quick to have everything under control, as usual."

What's that all about? Tirali frowned slightly, wondering who or what they weresee talking about. I know Kyra has opposing powers, and I do too, but Nikalia said there had never been this many? How many others are there? Shaking herself out of her thoughts, turning her attention back to Doug and Kyra. Doug looked pretty bored, so she asked, "Do you know what legend they're talking about?" hoping he or Kyra had heard it before.

Kyra glanced over when Tirali asked if she knew anything about the legend that Nikalia mentioned and shook her head.

"No, I only know about the lore of the 12. I don't know what they're talking about." Kyra replied as Nikalia perked up when Doug introduced himself and the Nymph grinned at him.

"Hey, Doug was it? Nice to meet ya! Like I was telling the Aquarius and Cancer girls: we have a study group here every Saurday and all Houses are welcome." Nikalia told the Aries boy, grinning at him as she did everyone else

"I don't know if I will come

"I don't know if I will come but I will consider it thanks for asking!" Doug answer the nymphs truthfully. Study is not really his thing as he have never been to school before and Doug could imagine he's likely to be out there being rowdy dirty boy saturday night than studying but you'd never know. The conversation lured toward the new topic that Doug yet again missing some context of it. Tirali asked him and Kyra if they know anything about it

"Me neither, hey what are you guys talking about?" ever so innocent, Dug straight up asking the adults.

"Me neither," Doug was kind of distracted by the nymph.

Tirali bit her lip. "I wonder how we could find out? Maybe if we-" she broke off as Doug somewhat loudly asked the adults, "Hey, what are you guys talking about?"

"...or we could do it that way," she finished.  More direct than I was thinking, but whatever. "Did you hear the part about more people than before are getting opposing powers?" she whispered to Kyra. "Who else do you think has them?" Silverscale was crouched on the edge of the backpack. He swished his tail silently a few times, then pounced out and onto an insect, batting it around. He appeared to be trying to set it on fire, presumably to cheer himself up. The beetle, however, had a hard shell that appeared to be fireproof. Silverscale tried a few more times then snorted, sending sparks skittering over the walkway, then clawed at the beetle. When that didn't work, he flicked it over with his tail and flew back up to the backpack. The beetle rolled back upright, then ambled slowly away. Silverscale glared at it, then chittered.

"Now you, Silverscale? You know better than to use that kind of language." Tirali scolded. The little dragon chirped, and she frowned at him. "Yes, even if Tanto said it first. Now please stop causing trouble?" Silverscale huffed and turned away, sulking. "Thank you." She realized she hadn't been listening to what anyone else was saying and listened more attentively.

Kyra face palmed at Doug's direct approach as Nikalia looked at them from her conversation with Riya. She saw the look the two exchanged - a look that said clearly that neither should say anything to the students - not yet anyways. She glanced at Doug in a way that said she was a little confused by his attitude.

"Come on, back in the backpack with you p.otty mouth." She told Silverscale, holding out the backpack with Tanto still in it.

"Sorry kids, but it's nothing you need to worry about." Nikalia told them in response to Doug's question. The nymph smiled and turned to Riya.

"I think you might be missing a few students." She noted to their guide, nodding to the fact that half the group was split up slightly

Sauren could feel someone else's eyes on the duo as she stood right behind Kalden and Myr. She resisted a smirk. Her father had always commended her for her stalking abilities, but this? They were so engrossed in their little mystery they'd left themselves laughably vulnerable.

"They do," Sauren said from behind Kalden, tilting her head at the wax impression he held in his hand. She stood calmly, regarding the strange symbol with guarded curiosity. Something about it seemed familiar, but just like an abstract thought, it wasn't really there, either. She noted down its strangeness to herself, tucking away the image for later reference.

“They do,” Myr heard a voice speak up from behind them. Turning, she wasn’t surprised to see Sauren standing there. She silently applauded the girl for her stalking capabilities while also slightly berating herself. Her attention had been solely focused on the sign and she hadn’t noticed the Scorpio's approach.

“Yep,” she agreed, getting up and stretching. “I know where the library is. Do we go now or do we go back to the tour first?”

Now that her attention was on her surroundings again, she could feel someone else watching them. Looking around, she spotted Luca perched on a railing, evidently listening in. She looked directly at him and raised an eyebrow.
