Instructions and Other Stuff

I’ve been wanting to try the Draw Six Fanarts Challenge, the art challenge where you draw art of six characters on a template. I wasn’t sure what characters to draw, so I decided to make it an art request and try the challenge with your characters. I will be doing two of them, one for HTTYD characters, and another for non-HTTYD characters.

If you want to request a HTTYD related character, please fill out the form below.

I will only be drawing HTTYD dragon characters, but fan dragons and hybrids are also allowed. If the dragon is a fan dragon or hybrid you created, I would like a picture for reference.

For non-Httyd characters, please fill out the same forum. I will draw any kind of character except humans or anything with human-like anatomy. (Although I usually draw dragons, dragon/reptile-like animals, and fish, so I will probably be better at those.)

It might take me some time to finish them, but I will draw all six characters on the template, and also include a separate image of each character individually.

Edit: Included a background on the form. It won't be too complicated, since I have a limited amount of space to draw, but I can add a simple background.

Name: Thorn.

Picture or detailed description:

Personality: Thorn was enslaved by Dragon Hunters against his will, abused and trained to track for them. Because of that, he grew extremely fearful of humans. Despite his harsh past, he's actually a shy and sensitive dragon. He's extremely obedient, attentive, gentle, practical, and loyal. He's a hard-working dragon and wouldn't rest until all given tasks are finished. He isn't the most adaptable dragon though as he really dislikes change.

Thorn tends to follow a "master" and can't make decisions for himself, as he fears being beaten if he does something of his own will. He was somewhat dependable on the Dragon Hunters and it seems like he's slightly brainwashed by them, as he was extremely upset about being rescued. He prefers to stay in the shadows and only comes out if he's sure that there is no danger for him. He's an elusive dragon who is rarely seen due to his keen sense of smell, but he will always appear when a friend needs him.

He's a monstrous nightmare

He's a monstrous nightmare named Monstrous. (He was one of my first dragons) I actually started writing his story, and then I lost the document. That was a while ago, before HTTYD3.

Dragon hunters found him soon after he was born, so after he was rescued it took him some time to realize that not all people were as bad as the dragon hunters. A viking from Berk was able to gain his trust and convinced him to spend more time with wild dragons, so he could try all the normal dragon things he missed out on. I started planning his story when there were rumors of Drago coming back in HTTYD3, so his story was going to end with him choosing to be loyal to Berk when Drago attacked. He then left Berk to live with the previously mentioned group of wild dragons, but still occasionally visited.

Maybe I'll rewrite it someday so it makes more sense with what actually happened in HTTYD3

Also, I forgot to include a background on the form. Did you want a background? It won't be too complicated, because I have a limited amount of space for the drawing, but I can add a simple background.

Cool! I like his story. The difference with Thorn is that he was rescued by feral dragons, a flock who used to be captive by Dragon Hunters and now rescue other fellow dragons from them.

I'd like a simple white background ^^

Name: Blind eye

Picture or detailed description: A death gripper that has black top scales and a charcoal almost black underbelly, he's blind in his right eye.

Personality/backstory - (not required, but might be used for the expression/pose of the character): he's the youngest child in his family jealous of his brother which became leader of his pack and leader of the guard which was meant to be his, he was exiled just after his brother and forgot about that life until he heard his father the current leader had died and so took the throne knowing Askari wouldn't know. Askari returned to fight him as he had attempted to kill his mate he didn't succeed but backed down knowing that if he angered Askari anymore he would kill him. He wasn't exiled but was still someone to be avoided if you wanted to keep both your eyes and became secluded and a lone wolf completely separate from the pack. He left one day wanting to get away from the people he lived with. Returning a few years later Askari had changed consumed by his vengeance when revenger had returned but became family to Askari when protecting him and his friends, still alone and unattached but home.

You're right, sorry about that. I sometimes get the two names confused when writing/typing them. I often do that with a lot of similar sounding names. At least they're not line the Wings of Fire dragons. They all end with "wing".

I had fun with the background. Although it probably won't fit in the background. The birds were made using a bird brush. I think it is called "gulls", it places already drawn birds, so I didn't draw the birds.
