Finally there's a clickable link very advertised on the forum. At least...for me it's showing up. This image shows up to the right and directly above New Forum Topics for me. I'm actually greatful they've put this up somewhere to replace the ad for the flightmare that has been there forever. Because...it's useful. And they should have links to that up.
I was roleplaying when the flightmare icon had changed. It literally just changed.
Nevertheless, I've spent the hour checking it out. It is a good change.
I just noticed, and am quite impressed. I'll be more likely to contact support now, its a lot easier!
Oh neat. That older banner was pretty pointless, so it's good it's been changed. Now people might stop posting bug reports in random places. Now hopefully the alignment will change too, unless the misalignment is caused by something on my side haha.
I wouldn't really call it an ad, though.
Well I mean, even though it's not from a different company spending money to be allowed to show off their unrelated stuff it's still advertising a different site with a clickable link in the form of a fancy picture made to draw the eyes.
I wasn't sure what other terms you can use for that. I am not particular good at certian internet lingo even though I've been internet lurking for a while.

But yeah, I'm glad they changed it. Hopefully, they move into a better forum format or focus on improving the current one. The old forum (which was hosted in Proboards, iirc), was less of a mess and I believe easier to navigate.
Let's just hope they're heading down the right path now.
For some reason I thought banners needed to be way more wide then tall. And I didn't know they were a separate thing from an ad when linking to a different site.
(Which yes, also means I considered the ones in Varku's sig to be ads too but that doesn't mean I was bothered by their existance just...the Hyper doesn't know what this is logic does follow in a consistant fation in case anyone was curious)
Anyway, glad I know what to call it now. I am slightly less of an internet d.erp then before.
Banners can come in many (usually preset) sizes. Sky-scraper (is2g filter) banners for instance are many times taller than they are wide.
My banners are technically ads yeah, since I'm advertising my own pages that are unrelated to JS/SoD :þ

Like, if you're going to have an entirely different site for customer service.....this is very useful. And will probubly reduce the amount of people who keep coming to the forum's bug report thread in confusion.
