So since Qurantine I have found myself binging and rewatching some shows since I am looking for something to do, so that made me curious. Uh yap.. that's it or at least all I remember, my brain is in done mode
My mom has recently bought several old shows that were on in the 70s on dvd and I've seen bits and pieces of some of the episodes. They look pretty good from what I've seen.
She's bought:
- The Six Million Dollar Man
-The Bionic Woman(a spin off of the The Six Million Dollar Man)
- Mork and Mindy
Me, my mom, and sister have also been watching Star Wars Rebels and Green Acres together. We're currently on season 3 of Rebels and season 6 of Green Acres. We try to have a day once a week where we watch a movie/show together. We switch off every week what we watch, so 1 week we'll watch a few episodes of Rebels and the next week we'll watch a few episodes of Green Acres.
@Maz: Brady Bunch and High School Musical!!!!!!!! I love both of those. We have every season of The Brady Bunch except the last one(still need to get that one) and we've got all the HSM movies, even the Sharpay movie that was released after HSM 3. I have the songs to those movies memorized. XD
I've seen some of green acres but it was a while ago so I don't remember much. Have you seen Get Smart? It's a show from the 60s. It's for the most part family friendly(I can't remember anything really that isn't)
We're watching clone wars! (forgot that one XD) We meant to watch it eairlier but never got around to it. Have you seen it?
We're still on season 2 so we're not that far but I know my Mom has seen most if not all of them. We watch them on either amazon or hulu so we have all the seasons. I really like it! :)
As for HM It's really fun! Although I didn't like the third one very much... I like it better when they have songs that have a more traditional musical sounding songs like Sussical the Musical. Plus because I do musical theatre I got really annoyed with Troy for skipping the ENTIRE FIRST ACT! That's awful! I'm quite glad he didn't get the schoolership, He didn't need or really want it(or deserve it). In fact the more I think about it the more I dislike Troy. But the first two were great! I'll probably watch the Sharpay one soonish. Which one was your favorite? XD Yass, I'm slowly getting them memorized, but I don't have 'em down yet.
I've never heard of Get Smart. With all the shows from the 60s and 70s that I know of you'd think I would've at least heard of that one. XD What's it about?
Clone Wars! Yes, I've seen it. I loved it(except the episodes with the Night Sisters, didn't like those at all. I skip those any time I watch the Clone Wars). I haven't seen the last season though because I don't have Disney+. I hoping it's eventually released on dvd.
Personally I really like Troy. He's one of my favorite characters. It was supposed to be romantic that he went to get Gabriella and prove to her that she didn't have to say goodbye to their relationship or to her friends, their relationship and her friendships could be maintained even though she was away at college. It was supposed to be a "he's in love and he's realized he doesn't want to lose the girl" thing. Since you do musical theater though I understand why that part was annoying to you.
It's so hard to choose a favorite. I loved them all. However, if I absolutely had to pick, I'd say the second one.
I know this conversation is from a few months ago, and I'm extremely sorry if I'm accidentally intruding this conversation. But I can't help but notice you talking about the old 60s Get Smart, I remember watching it when I was younger ^w^
My dad wanted us to enjoy his child hood shows so when I was younger I watched the 60s Get Smart, the 60s live action bat man show, and the old speed racer cartoon. And I'm honestly grateful my dad wanted me to watch his child hood shows as now they're mine too <3
I know this isn't a reply to me but I wanted to tell you don't worry, I don't feel like you're intruding on the conversation. :)
I feel like you. My mom has introduced me to a lot of shows she used to watch when she was younger and I'm so glad that she did. Those older shows have become some of my favorite shows ever.
Ahh alright, thank you :3
Yes! They have truly become some of my favorite shows! What kind of older shows did you watch? :D
You're welcome :)
Word of warning, this is going to be a long list. You have been warned! XD
(Some of the ones I'm including I've seen the whole series, others I've seen only a season or 2, others I've seen a few episodes of. I just decided to list all the old shows I've seen. lol.)
Cartoons:
- Scooby-Doo, Where are you?/The Scooby-Doo Show(At some point the name of the series was either changed or The Scooby-Doo Show series replaced Scooby-Doo, Where are you?. I'm not sure which one happened)
- The Scooby and Scrappy Show(Wal-Mart only had the first season of this show)
- Josie and the Pussycats
- The Jetsons
- The Flintstones
Live-Action:
- Bewitched
- I Dream of Jeannie
- The Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Mysteries(In the third, which was also the last, season the Nancy Drew episodes were dropped from the series and the name of the series was changed to The Hardy Boys)
- Gilligan's Island
- The Andy Griffith Show
- Gomer Pyle
- The Brady Bunch
- The Munsters
- The Addams Family
- The Partridge Family
- Green Acres
- Emergency!
- Lost in Space
- The Six Million Dollar Man
- The Bionic Woman
- Mork and Mindy
Told you it was going to be a long list. XD I honestly may have forgotten some but this is what I remember off the top of my head.
I have such fond memories of the Jetsons, Gilligan's island, and Bewitched
I always watched The Jetsons whenever me and my family went on long card rides, we had a lot of dvds from them that we would put in our car tv.
I watched Gilligan's island a lot with my dad on his off days, we'd all gather in the living room. Eat Apple slices and watch it together.
I have bitter sweet memories of bewitched though XD. I watched it the most with my mom on her tiny dvd player she brought with every time my stu.pid self landed myself in the hospital, so good memories and bad one's for that one XD.
Been meaning to reply to this but I kept forgetting. XD
Awww, that's so sweet that you have such fond memories of those shows with your parents. Sad that you ended up in the hospital but sweet that your mom always brought something to try to help you feel better. I've never been in a car that had a tv in it. I've always thought it would be cool to ride in one and watch a movie.
My parents got one for us since they couldn't handle keeping 4 children occupied during 4 hour long car rides that we would often take when visiting our relatives XD For the most part we watched Loony Toons and The Jetsons but we'd occasionally watch some movies XD.
Yeah, I always enjoyed that despite the situation. Luckily it's been a while since I've been in the hospital since when I got older I actually began checking the ingredients to things to make sure I could eat what I was eating without an issue. XD But sadly I haven't watched bewitched in while since then.
Loony Toons! Love them too. I love Bugs Bunny and the gang. They're so funny. I haven't seen any of the new stuff from them though. All the Loony Toons stuff I've seen is the older stuff.
Glad it's been a while since you've had to be in the hospital. :) My mom has to check the ingredients on stuff too. She has high blood pressure so she has to watch her sodium and she's also allergic to nuts so she has to check to make sure whatever she's eating doesn't have nuts. She's not really, really allergic like some people are(she doesn't have trouble breathing if she eats nuts or anything like that), she breaks out in red bumps if she eats nuts. It's sort of weird because she used to be able to eat nuts with no problem, she just developed the allergy within the last couple of years. She also checks the ingredients on medicine because she's allergic to aspirin, penicillin, and tetracycline(after all these years I'm still not really sure what tetracycline is, *one quick Google search later* Google says it's some sort of antibiotic XD).
Yes! The older loony toons are amazing! I think my favorite has always been Daffy, I don't know why but I've loved him for my whole life XD. Honestly I haven't seen the new stuff either, I have been tempted to give some if it a watch though. I honestly wonder if they've butchered the franchise or improved upon it :'D
Who was your personal favorite of the bunch?
Oh, I'm sorry to hear you mom has a nut allergy, it's good that's it's not severe as that is a truly uncomfortable experience ((The worst part is honestly the epipen XD))
Honestly, I think it sucks more to gain an allergy over time then it is to be born with one. Because you know the taste of things because you've eaten them before but then you suddenly can't eat them. Which sounds horrible, people ask me how I live without the foods I'm allergic to but I've always been fine with it as I NEVER tried them due to me being born with it. So I'm really sorry to hear your mom gained it over time :'c
I'm sure your mom has things figured out, BUT if you need any nut substitute suggestions I'm always open to help :D
I love all of them but my favorite's always been Bugs Bunny. He's just so ornery and funny.
I agree with you. I think it's worse to develop one over time. She really misses eating peanut butter and Reese's.
Thanks! I appreciate it. :D
Ahh yes good ol classic bugs, he's one of the best characters XD
has she tried sunflower butter yet? I'm not sure how close it tastes to peanut butter but it's pretty good :3
She hasn't tried that yet. I know she tried something that some people use to replace peanut butter, I can't remember what it was called, but she said that it was too sweet for her and it made her feel queasy. She's been eating lunch meat sandwiches and cheese sandwiches since she can't eat peanut butter sandwiches.
Pretty much just Big Hero 6 - Season 2.
They're epic.
I recently rewatched The Lego Movie. That's about it.
I've seen a few episodes of the Big Hero 6 series. I bought a dvd at Wal-Mart that had several episodes on it. The episodes that were on it were really good. I unfortunately haven't got to see anymore of the series though because I don't have cable, satellite, or any streaming services.
Yeah! They are SO good! They literally just get better - and season two is epic with all their upgrades and (spoiler) them getting a super-secret headquarters! You can watch some episodes on Disney Now - it's free but you only get to watch like the unlocked episodes of Season two at the moment.
1) How To Train Your Dragon movies 1-3(HTTYD)
2) Race To The Edge(RTTE)
3) How To Train Your Dragon Homecoming
4) Rescue Riders
I haven't really been watching Rescue Riders, but my little brother likes it. The new one that came out, Scerect of the Songwing, was pretty good. The end had me puzzling over the genders of Deathsongs. I could also predict the entire plot jsut by knowing the Songwing was based off of the Deathsong.
I think both of them are females and are meant to be a censored couple
That's what I thought, but then I started thinking about unique calls and how Deathsongs were probably based off of Dolphins, and how you can't tell female or male apart except for size, and then how that wouldn't be the case wtih dragons because they are based off of reptiles and some of them fish, and how in fish the females are sometimes bigger than the male... Your explanation is probably the best one, so don't mind my rambling.
Work from home period for me proved to be busier than normal so i have even less time to binge anything. But the recent show i watched (not binged, only watch like 2 ep per day) are Beastars and BNA(not yet finish) as well as rewatching mp100 season 2 again
Here's my list of what I binge watched so far:
Pokemon (season 1 to season 22)
BNA (brand new animal)
All the httyd movies and series
Victorious
Sam and Cat
Precure - this is an anime which over half of it wasn't dubbed so I watch it with subtitles on
Jurassic park/world
Harry potter
Yup that's about it
Eyyy I've been binging some Victorious to :3
adding to the list
Tales of Arcadia (Trollhunters to Wizards)
Avatar: The Last Airbender
The dragon Prince
Digimon (Digimon Adventure to Digimon Fusion)
Icarly
Just gonna edit this with some shows I forgot to add XD
I've been binging
rewatched Ninjago seasons 1-10 again *I haven't really liked season 11 and onward so I haven't really been watching the new seasons after that :p*
The Dragon Prince
The Office seasons 1-7
I began watching Community with my dad
Avatar The Last Airbender
Legend of Korra
the Ace Attorney Anime *Yes there's an anime, yes it's as weird as the games...might be even weirder...*
And I rewatched a bit of the yokai watch anime
I haven't quarantined but I do have more spare time now that I avoid any place outside except my own job like the plague (haha). I've watched all worthwhile stuff on netflix and recently binged ST:TOS until ST:DS9.
Now I'm just watching their libary of terrible anime hhh. I'm currently watching the Asterisk War. It sucks.
I've been taking a look at the Nexflix anime section (who would have guessed) but some of the stuff on there is eh... Netflix own anime I tend to steer away from though I watched half of Beastars and BNA. That one was an okay anime. It kinda ended exactly how I expected and with the plot twists too. Like the moment they mentioned a godly white wolf I went 'ah its them'.
I've also noticed they have Black Butler on there. But it's a mess. The picture they have next to the description is season one. The tile they have when scrolling through the section is (ew) season 2 but what they actually have to watch is Book of Circus. Bbbbbbbb
I'm not a complete degenerate, I do watch things other than anime like Still game, Spaced, Horrible Histories (Highly recommended) and Friday night dinner.
I've been watching a lot of documentary-ish shows. The Zoo, The Zoo: San Diego, The Aquarium, and Saved by the Barn
Other than that a few months ago I finished watching the original Lost in Space and rewatched the Netflix series.
I've also been watchng the Star Wars movies, because I had not seen any of them besides A New Hope, and that was a couple years ago. (I don't watch a lot of movies.)
Now I'm just waiting for Wizards.
Kipo: Age of the wonderbeasts
ATLA
Aggretsuko
Bojack Horseman
I'm also planning to watch Bakugan, Hellsing Ultimate and Flash & Dash (race tin)
I usually watch Youtube XD
But when we went on car trips I rewatched MI:Fallout, MI:Gost Protocol, Indiana Jones.
And when Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace went on Netflix I rewatched them as well...
Hmmm.... Which bakugan... Battle planet?
The OG Bakugan. I don't exactly know if it has a name, It used to be my childhood though.. I loved it so I want to catch up with it again
Phew, okay good. I was scared you were gonna say battle planet becuase that one is blasphemy to the original. It was probably the first anime that I watched so it's important to me too.
Still no quarantine for me but I finished Cobra Kai a while ago and it's actually pretty good.
Cobra Kai is the bomb dude. I've also been watching tales of arcadia(trollhunters, 3 below, wizards)
I've lately been binge-watchings cartoons such as Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts and Dragons: Rescue Riders.
But the show I've been watching the most is Dexter's Lab! :)
YAY YAY YAY YAY ANOTHER KIPO: AGE OF THE WONDERBEAST FAN YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY
Ah, my sister and I recently rewatched the HTTYD movies since it has been 10 years since it came out. It definitely hit us with a burst of nostalgia since we first watched it when it first came out and when we were much younger.
