Use your dragon's special abilities in racing
I love doing the dragon class levels in Flight Club - You get to use each dragon's special abilities while racing against the clock. I think it would be great to be able to use each dragon's strengths in the current multiplayer racing game. For instance, a thunderdrum could find special underwater shortcuts, gronkles could use their tough skin to bash through rocks, etc.
No.
It won't be fair sometimes.
I mean look at this example-Thunderdrum is racing with MonstrousNightamre. The thunderdrum goes underwater and finds shortcuts, but what can a monstrous nightmare do in this situation ? Burns itself on fire ??
I like the idea for abilities, but in the races-not.
Well maybe the nightmare's flame could kinda be like a adrenaline type reaction. Maybe intimidate the other dragons into slowing a bit, such as taking away the small flight boosts the dragons and other riders have for a short period of time.
Nadders can use their spines to slow down opponents, while nightmares can lit themselves on fire to make it hard to see for the other racers.
I really like this idea, but i don't hink it's smart to add them. The racers are already laggy enough. Imagine what special abillities will cause? Racing to crash for example :/
I do like the idea of having special abilities in SoD, but not it Thunder-Run Racing. The game is annoying anough with all the fireballs that get shot at me before, during, and after a race.
I agree I't's super annoying.
But maybe there could be 1 or 2 special advanced courses, wehre you could use these abillities.
Maybe, but that would be a lot of work for the admins. I think just adding them in game so we can show off around the School, the Wilderness and Berk would be awesome :3
it would be cool if monstrous nightmare can either block the view if there infront of you (but i think it should be zipplebacks gas) or become boosted when it iights up. and whispering death could just go through obstacle destroying it (though that's a little cheating)
I have no problem with the idea in general, but I feel like that would take away the racing part of TRR. It would be more like a battle to see who can use their dragon's ability to their full advantage. Besides, this could affect some people who are already lagging during racing or having glitch problems because with sometimes with multiple things going on at once(which would be the racing, maneuvering, using abilities, trying to get through the hoops for a boost, shooting fireballs at opponents, etc) the chances of actually lagging would intensify or result in a crash if the computer is unstable. Also, I feel like this would only be an advantage for some dragons, but not all. For example, with the nadder being able to shoot spines towards their opponent, that would be an advantage. If we're talking about a thunderdrum, then it wouldn't pose any advantages at all because the courses would not be underwater unless there was a race with all thunderdrums. Same goes for whispering deaths with the burrowing. There simply isn't a course that could allow all the abilities of every single dragon to be at the peak of their advantage(s) that is in existance as of now. If there were shortcuts, then it would be pointless to even race with so many shortcuts added (included the pre-existing ones). It's hard enough to have to cut past other riders, let alone avoid being shot at them constantly, but like I said, I have no problem with the idea.
I like the idea with abilites but not in racing, maybe outside the game to reach special quests where a certain dragon is required like a underwater quest for a thunder drum or a fire quest for a nightmare!

Ellie and Karliah get exactly what I'm trying to say - every dragon would have use of their special abilities in every race track. Abilities which they can learn to harness and use wisely while practicing in single player mode.
I'm not a programmer, and definitely don't pretend to be - don't know what kind of effect this would have for people using older, slower computers. If we can put a man on the moon, I'm sure we can find a way to add a feature like that. :P
