Viriz} Forest Spirit

After the Headmaster concluded the meeting, Viriz shrugged before stepping outside along with everyone else.

“So, where is everyone going to go?” Audrey asked the rest. “I think Rukath and I will head to the Cliffside Valley, although I personally don’t mind going anywhere else if anyone else wants to head there.” she said.

Viriz tilted his head slightly towards Lucy, asking, “You’re the reason I dragged myself into this, so I guess I’ll let you decide where we go. Got any ideas?”

Akemi

“Good seeing you again, Akemi.” Summer nodded.

“Likewise,” Akemi agreed. “Please, come on in.” the kitsune gestured, making way for them to enter.

When the three women entered, Akemi closed the door and followed behind them. Once they arrived in the correct room, Akemi waited for the new guests to take their seats before reclaiming her own seat.

Audrey Chevalier

The vampire gave a nod of approval that Rukath didn’t mind going to the Cliffside Valley before directing her attention to the rest of the group, who had yet to decide where to go for the mission.

Audrey listened quietly as the chatter went on among the group and waited for everyone to finalize their decisions.

“Is everyone set?” she asked with a polite smile.

(Anyone who responds)

“That’s great to here. Please stay safe, and good luck to all. We got each other’s backs,” she replied before turning back to Rukath, jerking her head towards the bridge back to the Mainland so that they could get to the platform.

(timeskip)

Audrey was in awe of the beauty of the Cliffside Valley. She walked close to Rukath’s side as the two made their way down the path between two huge statues carved into stone on the two sides of the valley.

“This is amazing. All I’ve seen are some small markets and trees back in the Forgotten Forest. I suppose vampires are not much for aesthetic,” she remarked, chuckling quietly.

The light shined brightly into the valley, and there surprisingly weren’t any spirits wandering around. She quickly took out a small notepad that was kept in her pocket and scribed down her small observation.

There doesn’t seem to be many spirits where light shines brightly, read her writing before she tucked it back into her pocket and proceeded down the path.

Not too sooner, Audrey’s attention was turned to a cluster of trees, which provided shadow to the ground beneath them. She wondered if it was true that the spirits preferred shady areas rather than areas exposed to the light. The vampire then tugged lightly on Rukath’s sleeve and pointed towards what seemed to be the entrance to a forest. It made her slightly suspicious that the entrance was so small, for the small cluster of trees was between two steep cliffs.

It’s somewhat odd that there’s this gap between two cliffs that I’d assume were to be connected where the gap is. Maybe I shouldn’t worry because trees couldn’t grow so fast, making it a natural occurrence, she thought to herself as they approached the gap.

Skylar Krymark

The Pureblood smiled as her friends were welcomed and greeted. She took an open seat by Mizuko, who was enjoying her cup of tea that Akemi had presumably prepared.

Anivia here. Riven wanted me to tell you that Ace is missing from his room. It appears that he has begun to use his teleportation abilities, the Cryophoenix’s voice rang in her head.

Oh dear, I’m not sure whether I should be glad he’s learning or concerned for his well being in the current moment, Skylar replied, beginning a mental list of where Ace could possibly be.

After a few moments, she realized that she could possibly choose a few locations to look, for it was Ace after all. He’d have to be within a certain radius from her to be detected. So far, there wasn’t much of a trace on him. Consequently, she smiled faintly towards her friends and eagerly waited for the discussion to begin.

Nixon Cornelius

“Ah, that’s good to hear. I won’t pester you two much...as for now,” he replied, suddenly vanishing, only leaving a puff of black smoke behind.

By the time Zed’s conversation with Elise had ended, Nixon turned around and smiled at Elise to make sure she was still there. He then gestured for her to come closer and take a look at what the valley by the cliffs had to offer.

“Here’s where you’ll be doing most of your training. There are a variety of monsters that you can practice your abilities on, and they respawn almost immediately aftering being executed.” he explained, stepping towards a stone monster who was almost three times his height.

“So, as for types of monsters, there are three. Plus there’s me. Some look at me like I’m a monster too, here’s why,” he joked, summoning the tentacles that grew out from his lower back.

“Here is where the fun begins. Firstly, there is the passive class. They are distinguished by a bright green mark somewhere on their bodies. This class is completely passive and does not attack back,” he said, pointing to the green sigil on the stone monster’s arm, before proceeding to attack it.

Nixon flattened his tentacles into flat weapons and in a matter of seconds, the monster was sliced into pieces, disintegrating afterwards.

“Secondly, there is the mutual class. They are distinguished by a yellow mark and they attack you only if you attack first,” he continued, attacking a snake with glowing golden eyes.

The snake proceeded to lunge at Nixon, who skillfully dodged the attack, extending his tentacles to raise him out of the monster’s attack range and finishing it off swiftly.

“Last but not least, is the hostile class. If you enter a certain radius around them, they immediately start to attack you. They are distinguished by a red mark and tend to be a little further from the waterfalls than passive or mutual class monsters, so please follow,” he said with a smile as he lowered himself back to the ground, holding his tentacles close to his body.

The two walked a little further past some other monsters and the waterfalls, through a small forest until they came to a clearing. Before them stood a figure who resembled an armored knight with a red glow coming from the helmet.

“Probably one of the more challenging hostile monsters here. Stay back this time, he’s quite fast,” Nixon said quietly before approaching the knight, who immediately turned around and lunged at him.

Rukath-manakete

Audrey gave Rukath a nod of approval to their decided destination and so they both waited for the rest of the group to decide on their own locations of searching. After a little while it seemed like most had figured out where they were going, "aye" Rukath replied to Audrey's question.
(all other responses)
After Audrey's words of luck, Rukath added "happy hunting" before turning to Audrey who jerked her head towards the bridge back to the mainland and by connection, the platform. Together they left the group and headed for the Cliffside Valley.
(Time Skip)
Rukath could not help but smile as Audrey looked around the Cliffside Valley with awe, especially as they passed under the grand statues. "There certaintly some pieces of grandure around here, however, I am sure there are plenty of grand structures around the Forgotten Forest but they are hidden by the forest" Rukath assured Audrey humorously as they walked.
Rukath looked over Audrey's shoulder when he saw her pull out a notepad. Where light shines bright eh? Rukath look skyward and had to agree there was very few spirits, he then remembered back to when he had gone to the Forgotten Forest and had to admit that there was quite a bunch more of the red spirits under the dark trees.
Rukath looked down from the sky when Audrey tugged on his sleeve and looked towards the trees that sat between two cliff faces and held only a single small entrance. Seems a tad sketchy Rukath thought to himself, but he knew that if they wanted to prove Audrey's theory they would have to enter the forest. Rukath held out his palm and generated a golf ball sized fireball for light, every now and then a bit of static could be seen in the fire, "I am ready" Rukath told her with a nod.

Dirimir-Kelpie

She chuckled at Silvius's comment of getting a list of gems that his sister might need. Dirmir had to admit that Silvius was pretty devoted to his sister. Her attention was brought to Audrey when she asked if everyone had a location, "we do" Dirmir replied, waving to the vampire and manakete took off for their location. Dirmir began walking towards the bridge as well but turned to see if Silvius was behind her "you coming with?" she said with a hip cocked out in waiting.

Luchter & Tiki - Draconic Demons | Seiryu & Fjorm - Manaketes

Seiryu sat atop the Starsphere Tree, his legs crossed and his eyes closed. In his hands was a blue orb which was emanating a soft light blue glow. As the Oracle focused harder, apparent by his furrowed brows, the glow grew brighter until the orb became a ball of blue light. Suddenly, the light disappeared and Seiryu snapped his eyes open with a gasp.

“Your Eminence, are you alright?”

Seiryu turned to see Fjorm frantically rushing towards him. She knelt down beside him and placed her icy cold hand on the Oracle’s shoulder. “Did you receive a vision, milord?”

“N-No, not at all. I cannot seem to reach them.” Seiryu averted his gaze to the blue orb as he heaved a defeated sigh. “I don’t know, Fjorm. Ever since the Eclipse started, I stop receiving even the faintest voice from our Ancestors. Direct contact with Azure’s dragonstone does not change it either. But why?”

“Perhaps the dark energy is affecting you as well, milord,” Fjorm supplied.

“That is impossible. The only dark energy that can enter the Starsphere Tree is Sable’s and he as well as his people have ceased to exist since millennia ago. Even if someway, somehow, his energy still existed, I doubt Naga would let it enter this sacred place. It must be something else, Fjorm,” Seiryu concluded.

“Then I have not the faintest idea, milord.”
“Neither do I.” Seiryu placed the dragonstone onto the grass, gazing at it woefully. It frustrated him that he could not contact the Ancestors in any way. He was the Oracle, the only one at that, and yet he was unable to perform his duty.

“How bad has the degeneration developed, Fjorm?” Seiryu asked, diverting the course of their conversation.

“It is growing worse. I have slayed five degenerates, which is two manaketes more than last week, and the evening has not even come,” Fjorm reported with a distressed look. “We need to do something, milord. This cannot continue.”

“I am well aware, Fjorm, but I cannot do anything about it. I do not possess the power to revert it and I cannot rely on our Ancestors either."

Before Fjorm could reply, the two felt a growing presence approaching the tree. As it got closer, they realized there were two of them. Seiryu immediately recognized one of the presence as Prince Luchter. The second one, however, was unfamiliar and yet…

“Is it Prince Luchter, milord?” Fjorm questioned, breaking the Oracle from his trance.

“Yes and I assume he is bringing someone of manakete blood with him.”

The two divine manaketes sat still, waiting for the demon prince and his friend to come up to the top of the tree. A few seconds later, the prince emerged in his demon form and landed in front of the two. On his back, he was carrying a green-haired child who stared wide-eyed at the scenery before her, mesmerized. The blonde gently set her down as he reverted from his demon form.

“Oracle Seiryu,” Luchter greeted with a bow, “I apologize for my impromptu visit but I believe I have urgent matters.”

“Does it have anything to do with-” As soon as the Oracle landed his eyes on the green-haired kid, his eyes grew wide and his mouth was left agape. Carefully, he stood up and approached the confused girl, his gaze never leaving her golden headpiece.

“That headpiece… How- But that is-”

Seiryu abruptly turned to the prince who was calmly observing the former. The Oracle must have looked so bewildered as the blonde started explaining about Tiki’s vision. Seiryu listened intently but the more he listened, the more overwhelmed he became.

“Wait, hold on a second, Prince Luchter. This is… a bit too much,” Seiryu said, raising his hand. He took a brief moment to collect his thoughts before speaking up. “You are saying that Gules gave her a vision and called her the ‘Descendant of Naga’?”

“Yes. I assume you do not have another daughter, Oracle?”

“No, not at all. Which means…”

Seiryu heaved a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose. He took a moment before he spoke up again. “It is a long story, Prince Luchter. I am afraid that if I tell you two everything, you will get overwhelmed. Especially you, young one.” Seiryu glanced at Tiki who seemed to be even more confused than before. “I know that you are too young to know this but I feel that it is imperative that you know now.”

“What are you guys talking about?” Tiki finally asked, her brow arched, “Stop speaking in riddles, I seriously can’t understand anything you just said.”

“I suppose an explanation is in order then.” The Oracle settled on the grass, motioning for the two demons to do the same. “I want you both to listen intently to what I am about to say as it is quite complicated.”

Lucy - Fairy, Arion - Vampire

Lucy

"I'm the...what?? You have free choice and will!" But please don't leave. Lucy started thinking about places. Going back to Brush Hollow would be comfortable, but I'd kinda like to expolre this new place. And probably Viriz wants to too. What is a land that's usual ground it relative flat, and it's friendly... "The Shinto Shrines! Um, what do you think about that?"

~

Arion

Where dragons live?? Arion was terrified, but he tried to play it cool. "Ionia sounds awesome, but I think we should go to Brush Hollow. I saw some interesting thing there, and Lucy said it's a very nice place. Also, wouldn't you want to meet other fairies? See where and how they live?" Most importantly, please don't go near anything that is huge, could eat us in one bite and breaths fire.

Silvius's POV

Silvius nodded, hurrying to catch up with Dimir. "Yeah, I'm coming. Sounded like Ashley was trying to talk Arion into going to Ionia or Brush Hollow. I'm personally hoping she goes to Brush Hollow first to see our Fairy cousins on Mom's side of the family. Lantana is a pureblood fairy. That's our Mom by the way." He told the Kelpie, glad to have her as a partner. Between her misfortune talents and his shadows, they probably stood a chance against these spirit creatures if they were forced into a confrontation.

Ashley's POV

Ashley considered the two locations she suggested. One the one hand, she wanted to meet more dragons, but she could tell Arion was uncomfortable with the idea. She looked up at Gem and thought about Brush Hollow. From what her mother told her, teacup dragons were pretty popular as pets among faries in particular. They even had a rule about the intelligent little critters. 'If you can't trust a teacup, ya can't trust anyone' was how the saying went. And she DID want to see the fairy grove. "Yeah, we can go to Brush Hollow. I have some cousins there that might be able to help us. My Aunt Camilla for instance. She can create constructs of plants with an ability called botanokinesis. I've only met her once but Mom gave me her address. I've got it here somewhere. She runs a flower shop and lives above it in one of the main tree markets." She told Arion, pulling out the piece of paper her mother had given her in case she ended up in Brush Hollow. Gem twittered, poking her head up out of her chest pocket. "I'm sure Aunt Camilla wouldn't mind us popping in for a surprise visit." The fairy mused, checking the address. She wished she could open portals directly to her Aunt's shop, but that wasn't something fairies like her could do, so she'd have to use one of the public portals to get there. It wasn't far from the local portal anyways.

Sorry for the bother, but I’d like to make a few things clear from your post.

Firstly, there are no pureblood/halfblood/quarterbloods in any other races between vampires. That is their way of distinguishing between different power levels. For fairies, they have Queen/Empress Amaltheia and a few nobles, all of which (will probably not) make an appearance in your char’s point of view.

Secondly, there are no communication devices such as phones in the Domain. It’s a fantasy type atmosphere and any means of communication is done primarily by messengers, such as birds or maybe Gem, for instance.

Lastly, your NPCs may not have any unique ability that is not part of your main character for the sole purpose of maintaining a stable power level. I don’t think I can allow Camilla to have that ability you described in your post. She may have similar light magic to Ashley, however. I also would like your characters to perform the mission without any assistance from NPCs, because it somewhat makes it confusing for me sometimes to figure out who’s with who and where and such.

Again, sorry if this is a bother, but I really do want to keep everything organized and controlled. Please make these changes and you’re good to go!

Ah, ok thanks for clarifying. So Gem would be the messenger, not the crystal phone. That makes more sense. I wasn't sure so I made something up to be perfectly honest. Also, before I forget, would there be like a forest market or something? I was thinking maybe the fairies lived in trees or tree like structures or something. And would there be any specific cities or villages in Brush Hollow itself like Ionia for the dragons? Or is it just the central city for them?

The vampire stood close to Rukath, who had summoned a fireball in his hand. She waited a bit hesitantly in front of the entrance to the forest before stepping in. The sun had immediately disappeared into the shade, with only tiny glints of light shining through the dense growth of the forest. The air seemed a bit more dampened, creating a rather ominous atmosphere. Audrey placed a hand gently on the sheath that was tied around her waist, making sure that she hadn’t made the dumb mistake of losing her sword somewhere.

"Look, there’s already more spirits around,” she pointed out, looking into the forest where a few fuzzy red figures were to be seen.

Audrey unsheathed her sword and started to walk deeper in the forest, trying to make note of the relative location of the forest’s exit so that they wouldn’t have too much trouble finding their way out later.

As the two walked deeper into the forest, there was slowly less and less light to be seen shining through the treetops.

The spirits appear to slightly cluster around where trees are closer together. Does this mean that something is pushing them to gravitate towards potential hiding spots? She quickly wrote down before looking back up, weary of any sudden behavior the spirits may exhibit the moment someone let their guard down.

Rukath was just as hesitant as Audrey to enter the forest, though eventually they both entered the dark place. The forest was like a whole other realm, the temperature dropped and the moister level rose, it all made Rukath's nerves stand on end. It did not help that the number of spirits increased dramatically.
Rukath nodded at Audrey's words and noticed that she was drawing her rapier. Rukath soon followed suit and drew his glass bas, censored (aka hand and a half) sword and held it in his dominant hand while his flame burned in his off hand. Rukath took his focus off of the spirits for a few seconds to see what Audrey was writing, he did not like her observation, "they're acting like ambush predators, I don't like.." Rukath began to say before he soon found one of the red spirits coming up from behind them and fast.
In a quick reaction Rukath slashed his sword down at the red being as it screamed by. He did not know if he had hit and wound it or if he had just redirected the creature but it went off a short distance after his swing and turned back around, still screaming. "this is not good" Rukath said as he took a defensive stance, both hands on his sword, his fire trickled up the blade's edge. The other spirits perked up at the sound of the screaming one and Rukath prepared for a battle.

Arion sighed in relief. No dragons for now. Although those shadow things, doesn't sounds much better. No, let's focus on exploring now! He put on a big smile. "Brush Hollow it is!! Let's go!" He started heading towards the portals hoping Ashley and Gem would follow him.

"By the way, how do you know so much about your birthfamily? Is there a way for newcomers to ask?" The vampire tried not to get his hopes up, but he couldn't help to get excited. Maybe I'll find my parents! No, my parents are at home!! But I could find my biological mother and father. Maybe, I could get to know more about myself, or some hidden power I have!! So much for not getting his hopes up.

Silvius's POV

Once they stepped through the portal, they were back in the Hells Domain, where they first met Dimir. He recognized the area too, where they met that Banshee woman who helped Ashley get some of the crystals she needed for her project. He had the list of what she needed from each region too. And he had plenty of the local gold currency. He glanced at Dimir. "Ya think we should ask our Banshee friend if she's seen anything unusual? She might be able to help us out with this. Banshee are known to be sensitive to other spirits after all. At least that's what Mom told us about them." Silvius suggested, thinking of the kindly old grandma banshee.

Ashley's POV

Ashley grinned and they headed for the portal to Brush Hollow. "Aunt Camilla's one of those people that knows everything about everyone in the neighborhood. Back in Society, they say barbers knew everything. In the case of Fairies, it's the florists. But they do have archives for families in different areas. Yours would probably be in the Forgotten Forest region." She told Silvius, glancing at him as they approached the portal, Gem twittering happily. She landed on Arion's shoulder, nuzzling his cheek. The little dragon folded her wings neatly to her back and she curled up in the crook of the vampire's neck, her tail loosely wrapped around him for balance. She gave a cute little yawn and curled up to take a nap.

Audrey’s body jerked as she saw a spirit coming up behind them, and at a frighteningly quick pace. Rukath was the first to react to the spirit, who had begun to scream, slashing at it with his sword. Although this was something Audrey definitely wanted to write down, there was no time to. She was uncertain whether the one spirit had been wounded; she was uncertain if blades did any damage to them at all.

I have no magic, she thought in panic, seeing that the one screaming spirit had attracted the attention of all of the others that were in the area.

Instinctively, seeing that Rukath had gone into a defensive stance, she followed, pressing her back against his so that they faced opposing directions.

"Get that screaming one first! It’s going to attract even more spirits if we don’t execute it. I’ll go in and distract it, and you can try to hit it with your fire while I’m at it, because I don’t know any magic myself,” she said, immediately dashing towards the screaming spirit.

Once she got close enough, Audrey began with taking a few thrusts at the spirit, noticing that when the tip of the blade hit the main body of the spirit, the “skin” crackled with red energy that resembled lightning.

That could mean anything. Spirits have shields against physical damage? Or are they really taking damage, but only a small amount? She thought, continuing to do a battle dance with the spirit, dodging all its attacks through a series of jumps and dashes while trying to continue hitting it.

Audrey joined Rukath in a defensive stance, pressing her back against his so that they could not get flanked. Rukath nodded at her words on how to take on the screaming spirit, she was right, if the screaming one was not silenced soon they would be mobbed. When Audrey dashed towards the screaming one Rukath sprinted around so that he could get around to the backside of the spirit. As Rukath got closer to the spirit he noticed how Audrey's attacks left little red cracks in the spirits skin that crackled with energy and it gave him an idea.

When the spirit paused in its movements Rukath toook his chance. He ran at the spirit and lept up into the air, bringing his sword over his head, and then brought the flaming blade down on top of the spirit with all of his might. There was a flash of red as Rukath broke a good portion of the spirit's skin or shield and together hit the ground. Rukath stumbled slightly as he landed but regained his feet shortly after. He spun quickly to see if he had slain the spirit, he had not, but the spirit was highly weakened.

Rukath walked over to the weak spirit and relight the fire on his sword and gripped the hilt with both hands. Rukath raised the ground facing blade, twisting his hands to increase the intensity of the fire on the blade, and the ran the blade down through the top of the spirit. It screamed one last time when Rukath blade hit the ground, the spirit was fully impaled.

He removed his blade from the spirit and watched as it collapsed in on itself and exploded, pushing Rukath back several paces. Rukath smiled at Audrey though it turned into a grim expression when he noticed the other spirits were advancing in on them, some began to scream. Rukath jumped and rolled towards Audrey to dodge one of the spirits attacks. He spun around, his back to Audrey and facing the hostile spirits. This was going to be one long fight.

Dirmir-kelpie

She walked with Silvius to the portals and stepped through the one to the darker Helldomain. Dirmir thought on Silvius's suggestion, "I think that is a bad idea, the Headmaster said this is a secret mission and no one else except our group is supposed to know about it, so it would be to hard to talk with her and notice spill secrets" Dirmir informed Silvius. Dirmir looked into the dark sky and realized that there quite a lot more spirits in the dark Helldomain than in the bright mainland. Dirmir took out a small notebook, larger quantity of red spirits in darker Helldomain than in brighter mainland, possible adversion to light? she wrote. "Any ideas of places we should check to see if there are larger quantities of spirits?" she question Silvius.

Silvius's POV

"True, I know we can't tell her about the mission. We can't tell Mrs Hathea the details, but maybe we can ask her if she's noticed any odd activity in the area." Silvius suggested, trying to come up with ideas. There was no way they could search the whole Helldomain. He was already feeling out where the shadows were, but he wasn't good at that yet. Ashley's mentor, Master Ichiro the crystal alchemist, was also a shadow manipulating Kitsune but his ability was an emphisis on shadowfire, a combination of shadow and flame manipulation.

Arion - Vampire

I knew that much. He felt disappointed, but tried to hide it, not to offend the fairy. "But if this Aunt Camilla of yours likes gossiping so much, don't you think it'd be better to avoid her? This is a secret mission after all." Gem flew on his head, and curled around his neck to take a nap. Arion cheered up a little. He took a liking to the little teacup dragon. The vampire gently petted her head, saying, it's okay for her to stay on him.

"Well then, let's see what we have in store!" With that, he stepped through the portal to Brush Hollow. They arrived at a nice field, with blooming flowers, green grass and big trees. This is much better than the swamp. He thought in relief. Arion tried to imagine the place in it's full glory, with sunlight, and he wished to one day see it that way too. The vampire turned to his partner.

"Any ideas where should we look for these shadow creatures? And what can we do, if we do find some? I'm not the best at fighting. Or magic. Or this vampire gig." He said with an embarassing smile, scratching his head. Just as he stated that, he picked up some noise, but it was strange. It felt like it was in his head, but he knew the direction where it came from. "On second thought, I think we should head that way." Arion pointed at a little forest path leading to seemingly nowhere. I hope I'm right... Or do I hope I'm wrong?

Ashley's POV

Ashley smiled as Gem settled on Arion's shoulder to take a nap. She wouldn't be this calm if there were any of those red spirits around. And she considered what he suggested about Aunt Camilla. The purple haired, blue skinned fairy did tend to gossip. "You make a good point. Mom always said Aunt Camilla was a terrible gossip and liked to blab what she knew." She mused, fluttering her wings a bit before making them vanish. She had to admit, she liked the way the forests of Brush Hollow looked. She felt at home here in nature. She couldn't wait to see what her nature blasts could do in this area. Then she saw the path. "Hold on, I got an idea on how to figure out where that goes." She mused, spotting a squirrel gathering nuts. "Excuse me, Mrs Squirrel? Can you tell us where that path leads?" She asked, earning a startled squeak from the squirrel. "Sorry, fairies don't often bother talking with little rodents like me. What do you want to know about this path?" The squirrel asked in her language. Ashley smiled, letting the little squirrel crawl into her hand so she could lift her to eye level. "Just if you've seen anything unusual and where that path goes." Ashley admitted, glancing at Arion. She was grateful for her ability to understand animals. "Ah, that's the path to the Lunar Springs. There's been some odd creatures hanging out around there lately though. The Dryads that live in that part of the forest have pretty much abandoned the area for the safer parts of Brush Hollow like the Light Garden. Something about red spirits hanging around in the darkest part of the forest near the Lunar Springs." The squirrel told her, the young fairy glancing at her friend. "She says that path leads to the Lunar Springs, one of the darker regions of the forest. The Headmaster said those red spirits like to hang out in dark areas. She also says the dryads that live in the area pretty much abandoned it when they first showed up. Sounds like a good place to check out." Ashley translated turning back to the squirrel. "Thanks for your help ma'am." She told the helpful red squirrel, handing her one of the candied acorns from Gem's stash. "Any time m'lady! You need help, just let my cousins know and they'll give ya directions." The squirrel replied before leaping to a nearby tree and scampering off. "Now we don't have to worry about anyone finding out. We can just ask the local critters for help." She told Arion, a smug grin on her face.

Elise Siegcador - Draconic Demon

Elise listened intently to Nixon’s explanation. She was slightly surprised when the vampire summoned crimson tentacle from his lower back but the princess said nothing. When Nixon engaged a hostile knight in battle, she watched and observed the vampire. His movement was fast yet precise and he was clearly skilled with the tentacles, utilizing it to increase both his range and damage output. A few seconds later, the knight was defeated.

“That was amazing,” she remarked as she walked over to the vampire, “And it seemed that you had fun, too.”

Mizuko} Siren

“Hello, everyone, I can't remember the last time we’d gathered like this,” Mizuko greeted, “I can never seem to explain the sense of relief I feel whenever we’re together.”

The blue haired siren’s sisters simultaneously bowed politely before the newest guests. They’d seen the group of friends before but had never had a proper chat with any of them. This would be the first time. Strangely enough, they found the situation somewhat nerve wracking. Mizuko’s friends were a diverse bunch, and the princesses seldom interacted with species that do not reside in the Great Reefs.

Mizuko lowered her cup and placed it gently on the table before looking up at the rest of the group, “I’m sure you’re all wondering why I gathered you here. You can probably already guess.” she began, “The great city of Atlantis, home to greek deities, was one of the worst affected area during the Lost Invasion, it was completely obliterated and became nothing but ruins. But finally, after seven years, it has been rebuilt.”

“Erm, well, as I’m sure you’re all aware, before the atrocities seven years ago, Mizuko was engaged to Lord Poseidon's son. Lord Akheilos-” Zonia added nervously.

“Against my will,” Mizuko interrupted.

“Y-Yes, that would appear to be the case. But as I was saying, their engagement was put on temporary hold after Atlantis had been destroyed. But now that it has been rebuilt, Lord Akheilos intends to reclaim Mizuko’s hand, as he planned several years back.”

Mizuko turned her head in disgust and crossed her arms, “I resent my mother for allowing this to happen.”

“Alright i’ve had enough!” Souri said angrily, “Mizuko, stop feeling hatred towards mother! She had no choice!”

“What do you mean ‘had no choice’?” The blue haired siren questioned, narrowing her eyes.

“Lord Poseidon threatened the Siren kingdom if she did not agree,” Souri revealed, “Don’t you get it? Of course, as a mother she’d want to protect us, but as a queen the safety of her people comes first.”

“Is this true? Zonia, Nila?” Mizuko asked with an angered tone.

The two older sirens looked at each other and then nodded hesitantly.

“Argh! Why didn’t she tell me?!” The blue haired siren yelled, standing up.

“Mizuko, calm down, she did it for your own good. She knew you’d react like this and do something reckless,” Nila tried to explain.

“How dare those b******s!”

Viriz} Forest Spirit

"The Shinto Shrines! Um, what do you think about that?" Lucy replied.

“If that’s where you wanna go, I’ll go too,” Viriz smiled. The forest spirit watched as the group began to disperse throughout the Domain. “Come on, Lucy, let’s get going.” he said, gesturing towards the teleporters.

Lucy

"If that's where you wanna go, I'll go too." Lucy knew very well, that the forest spirit was trying to be kind to her, but she couldn't help but feel frustrated. She ran after Viriz, and grabbed his arm, by his wrists, right before the portal to The Shinto Shrines. "You don't have to do, what I want to. You don't have to go where I want to go. You are allowed to make your own decisions! You know that, right?"

The fairy realized how dumb and bratty she sounded, and felt awfully ashamed a few seconds later. "I'm sorry. Thanks for tagging along." She jumped throught the portal, to hide her red face, and to breath some fresh air.

As soon as Lucy arrived at The Shinto Shrines, everything that happened before disappeared from her mind. The view was breathtaking. "Wooo..." She tried to imagine it with sunlight, and bright colours. This is almost as beautiful as Brush Hollow. She looked around, and tried to take the view in, as much as she could. The grey mountains, tainted by white, light pink dominating the whole area.

Oh, the quest! Right. I can't believe there're any bad creatures in this beautiful place. She stood awkwardly in one place, waiting for the Forest Spirit. The fairy was ready to explore. She felt the excitement rising in her.

Arion

Gem's slow breathing and warm little body, somehow made the vampire feel calm. He could clear his mind, and the voice in his head slowly started to grow stronger and point more accuratelly towards one direction. What is that? A wild animal? No... what is it?

Ashley snapped him out of his concentration. He would have never admited, but the vampire didn't hear her first few sentences. He just nodded, hoping there wasn't a question amongst them. Than Ashley started talking to a squirrel. What the...? What is she doing? Is she talking to an animal?? That's so cool!

Ashley translated the chaotic chirping Arion heard, which apparentally meant, they should head towards the darkest path of the forest. Thanks chipmunk. I officially hate you. He put on his usual big smile. "We have different opinions about a "good place", but I guess it'll help us advance in our task."

"How do you know they won't spread the news? If fairies can talk to animals, those rodents can easily give out the mission, can't they?" He had his doubts about this plan, but he trusted in his friend, and hoped that the fairy knows what she is doing. Arion countinued to walk on the path, that should lead them to something... interesting.

Ashley's POV

Ashley rolled her eyes, glancing back at Arion and saw that Gem was still taking her nap against his neck. "Nah, you'd be surprised at how rare that talent is among fairies. Mom told me it was like maybe one in every twenty or so fairies that got the ability to talk to animals. Besides, Squirrels aren't exactly considered reliable most of the time." She assured Arion, fluttering her wings. "Also, we'll need light if we're going into the dark part of the forest, so I came prepared." She pulled a stone from her pocket, pulling out a good sized marquis cut diamond that was about 7 carats. "Made this myself in my last alchemy class. It's called a light diamond. We infused it with natural sunlight and it acts sort of like society's flash lights. They have to be recharged with solar energy from time to time and this particular marquis cut is perfect for a focused beam of LED level lighting. This baby is also fully charged and ready to go." She told the vampire, holding the stone between her thumb and forefinger. It was set into a simple white gold band, making it vampire friendly. She actually had two in her hand and handed one to Arion. "They'll only show light for the people using them. I made these two that way just out of curiosity. I've tested them and I was able to sneak up on Silivus without him even seeing it." She added, pulling out the second diamond on a bracelet similar to the one she wore for the aura link

(this is Arion's ring but just the diamond in classic clear and no writing or extra stones and this is the bracelet Ashley's wearing for the light diamond:  @vanilla viking: I hope you don't mind but I figured Arion would prefer a ring design over a bracelet again so I kept the bracelet for myself, also @Skyheat, I'm not sure how rare it is for Faries to be able to talk to animals in this world, so I just made up a number at random, I hope that's ok)

Arion - Vampire

Ashley tried to enssure Arion about her friends, but ended up doing the exact opposite. She was fluttering her wings freely, while the vampire still had his doubts.

"I really don't want to argue, sorry. I just want to be sure, we won't give ourselves away. 1 in every 20? That is kinda rare... but considering we're in Brush Hollow, filled with who knows how many fairies, and there are so many of those... squirrels, eventually, they'll meet each other, won't they? And you just said they're not reliable. How can we trust in their words than? Who can guarantee they won't tell everything for an acorn?"

He also wanted to ask if they're even heading to the right way, but his instincts told him yes, so he swallowed that one. He looked at the fairy, and she looked really confident. I guess it's fine for now. I just really hope those chipmunks will keep their little mouths. Cause if they don't... I wonder how would their blood taste? Yumm!

Ashley told him they'd need light if they're going to the darker side of the forest. It sounded absolutely logical, but Arion was already a bit annoyed, worried and maybe even scared. When the fairy pulled out her magical jewels, the vampire just bursted out. "I'm a supernatural being as well, y'know? For your information, I have powers too. I can see very well in the dark. And the last thing I need is another shiny, sparkly jewel!"

He took some deep breaths. When he calmed down, he just realized what he said. "I'm sorry. I really appreciate your creation. And you being here. I'm just... This quest... Y'know..." I'm not sure I'm strong enough to carry it out. I don't want to be the one who fails it. And I have to make sure, none of us gets injured. Especially not you. He reached out and took the ring. "Thanks." He pretended to put it on his finger, but sneaked it into his pocket instead. To avoid an awkward silence, he just said the first thing that came to his mind. "It does look beautiful on you though."

Ashley yelped in surprise and even Gem was startled awake by Arion's sudden outburst about the quest. She recovered quickly and put her wings away so they wouldn't get in the way. "Trust me, I know how you feel. I'm just trying to keep my mind off it. And even vampires need some light to be able to use their night vision." She admitted, Gem diving for her hiding place in Ashley's chest pocket. She looked down at the bracelet on her wrist. "I guess one light source is better than nada. And believe me when I say that it took a lot of trial and error for me to get this right in Master Ichiro's alchemy class." the Fairy allowed, grinning at the vampire as Gem poked her head out of her hiding place to make sure it was safe to came out. "Oh and I think you nearly gave poor Gem here a heart attack with that outburst." She added, leading the way into the forest. "So what do you think these weird spirit things look like anyways?" She asked, keeping one eye on Gem to use the teacup dragon as a gauge to see if they were getting close. Master Ichiro told her that they were very sensitive to negative energy after all

Audrey Chevalier

The vampire jumped back and forth in short dashes, avoiding the spirit’s attacks and waiting for Rukath to find the perfect timing to attack.

Hurry up! She thought in slight panic, for her stamina was beginning to falter.

Audrey strengthened her slashes when she saw Rukath move to the backside of the spirit, preparing to strike. As she saw him jump up into the air, she quickly rolled out of the way just in time before his blade hit the spirit’s head, resulting in a bright flash of red. When she turned around, she saw the spirit had been weakened greatly, for it was to be seen stumbling around.

When was there a thing such as invisible armor? She questioned, running over back to Rukath who recovered from the fall in no time.

Audrey watched in slight horror as Rukath relit the sword and finished the spirit off with a last explosion of light before the remains faded into nothing. Her attention was then turned to the fact that the other spirits had begun to advance on the two, and rather quickly. Audrey instantly jumped when several others had begun to scream.

“This is not good. But we need to eliminate them one by one,” she said, gathering all her might and began to run in the direction of the spirits closest to them.

The screaming ones, the screaming ones... where are they?! She thought, frantically searching as she slashed at the arms of the spirits who reached out at her.

“That one!” she screamed, pointing her blade towards another screaming spirit, whose body crackled in a brighter red than the rest.

Skylar Krymark

“Agreed. Time passes by very quickly, but I cannot deny the fact  that things have been hectic, now that Ace is growing up. It’s truly a relief to be back,” Skylar chuckled and quieted down as Siren began to speak.

She listened intently as Siren and one of her sisters began to explain the situation and as to why the group was gathered in the first place. However, Mizuko and her older sisters began to bicker as it was revealed that her engagement was planned out of a threat towards the supernaturals of the Great Reefs.

“Mizuko, try to maintain your composure. It’s more difficult to sort things out when you’re feeling frustrated. We’re all here for you, right girls? So, the question I have for you is what kind of role do the other girls and I play in this? I haven’t heard much of Lord Akheilos, so this is quite the news for me,” Skylar asked quietly.

Rukath nodded at Audrey's word of eliminating each spirit one by one easier said that done Rukath worried to himself. He frantically looked around with Audrey for the ones that were screaming, snapping his head around when he heard Audrey scream out which one was screaming. Rukath was a little ways from the spirit and decided to try something, he let the fire on his sword grow a bit and then brought his sword in an upward slash sending the fire forward in a fast moving arc.
Rukath's aim was a little off but with a little steering while he closed the gap, he got the arc to strike the spirit. Once Rukath reached the spirit it took a few more strikes for his sword to crack the spirit's armor like skin enough so that he could stab it. Once he managed to take it down it fell to the ground still crackling with energy but before he could move away from it and catch a bit of his breath, another spirit came up behind him and managed to give Rukath a little slash across his back, it was enough to take Rukath's attenting to dead spirit that was getting brighter.
Rukath held his palm up to the spirit and managed to release a torrent of flames from his palm. the spirit backed up a bit and just in time for Rukath to realize what was going on with the dead spirit but to late for him to react. the dead spirit exploded violently and sent Rukath flying into a few spirits and finally into a tree which was where he came to rest. He ached all over, he had several cracked ribs, a strained right leg, bruises all over and a mild concussion.
Rukath groaned in pain and managed to get himself to sit up against the tree, "Audrey.." He called as loudly as he could before he pointed to the the bracelet he had on his upper arm. He had no clue how to activate the shared mana supply but just put his hand over the stone and imagined transferring a good portion of his mana to Audrey. Rukath felt a sort of drain on his body and watched to see how Audrey would do and hoped that this was not going to be their last day.

Dirmir- Kelpie

Dirmir rolled her head from side to side as she thought about Silvius idea, "fine, however if anything get's out the headmaster will have your head and you'll be the one asking the questions" She conceded as she began to make her way towards where the banshee's stall was.

Silvius's POV

"Don't worry, I've watched enough spy movies back in Society to know how to be discreet. Though I doubt movie discreet will apply here. But my Dad tells me that a lot of his Banshee friends are usually tight lipped about their culture. So I think we can trust Mrs Hathea." Silvius mused as they approached the stall. Mrs Hathea looked up, the Banshee woman smiling when she recognized the two kids from earlier today. "Silvius! Dimir! How are you two? I'm guessing that fairy sister of yours enjoyed using her new crystals in her experiments?" The Banshee asked, aiming that last part at Silivus. The Kitsune nodded. "Yes Ma'am. She already has plans to use them. But I'm afraid this isn't a social or shopping visit." He replied, earning a frown from the Banshee woman. He noticed her silver hair was tied back in the same tight bun as before (probably because he heard Banshee hair was almost always flowing like water. He suspected she kept it like that so it wouldn't get in her way). "Does this have anything to do with those strange reports of red spirits I've heard about?" Hathea asked, quriking an eyebrow at the stunned look on Silvius's face. "How did...?" He began and she cut him off. "I'm a Banshee hon, we're sensitive to spirit activity. I see spirits around all the time. Mostly just Panes, Parentes and Lares, and the few decesased creatures that tend to stick around with their families, but these days I've seen a lot more unusual spirits running around." Haethe told the two kids, noticing the bracelets they wore as Silvius fiddled with the jade stone on his

Arion - Vampire

Gem woke up and rushed into Ashley's pockets for cover. The vampire scared her, and he immediately felt bad about it. I don't want to keep my mind off of it! I want to be prepared for the worst. And actually, I think the light is distracting, but I'm not sure how these powers work. Arion's anger slowly faded away, as the fairy started talking about her alchemy classes.

"Look, just so you know, I do really appreciate your effort. And I'm sorry Gem for scaring you. I just shouldn't be here. A few month ago, I just went to school and played at home, and now I'm supposed to fight evil as a vampire? No. It's still hard to wrap my head around this. I don't know how did you adjust so well, but I didn't. Sorry for hurting you guys."

He followed Ashley into the forest, deeper. Arion thought he would feel more and more scared, as they're getting closer to the spirits, but the exact opposite happened. The darker it got, the more chill he filled. The sounds started being louder, and his eyes could see further than ever. This is so cool!! When the fairy asked how does he think the spirits look like, the vampire realized he has no idea either. "I don't think they have solid bodies. On the other hand, Viriz is a spirit too, and he did look like a human. I don't know. I just hope we'll recognize them, when we see them. I really don't want to attack someone innocent." He chuckled.

Ashley's POV

The blond haired fairy glanced over at her vampire friend. She nodded in understanding as Gem twittered her acceptance of his apology. "Don't worry about it. Heck, before I came here with Silvius, I was the shy, nerdy kid who sat at the back of the class but still somehow managed to get good grades. Silvius was a football star thanks to his athletic ability." She admitted, looking around for any unusual activity. As the squirrel reported, no dryads at all. She could see evidence of them fleeing the area in a hurry, a few food baskets strewn about, some forgotten art projects or other items of business strewn about as she scanned the area with her diamond light. "Just like our furry friend reported. No dryads. Normally in a place like this, you'd see a city or village worth of them running around." Ashley mused, noting what she saw and recording it with her other invention, a crystal she called a light recorder. It worked like a video camera but used the light refracting properties of a clear quartz stone the size of her fist to store the images. "The Headmaster will want to know about this. This is a little gadget I like to call a light recorder. Another of my alchemical inventions. Took a lot of trial and error to get this right. Master Ichiro had to help me more than once." She told Arion, glancing at the vampire. "Maybe your sharp night vision can see something a fairy can't." She suggested, her eyes not suited to the dark like a vampire's were. She wished she were a kitsune like Silvius. But of course she had to be a fairy. Since Kitsune were foxes, they had excellent night vision like all predators do.

It's completely fine if 1 in every 20 fairies have the ability to talk to animals. I can't give you an exact number of existing fairies in the domain though. xd

Another thing, given that the Domain has already such a long history and has advanced without the presence of technology, such things like the recorder in your most recent post most likely already has been created. Please refrain from having your character discovering major breakthroughs and inventions. Thanks!

Arion - Vampire

The vampire relieved when his companions forgave him. You? A nerdy silent girl?? He couldn't even imagine the sparkly winged, hyper fairy as an even remotely quiet person. I would love to see that. He thought to himself chuckling.

Arion saw objects left behind by dryads. He was imagining them working, talking and giggling in their pretty outfits. One dryad in particular caught his attention. A beautiful silver haired, pale skinned girl with light pink tunic. She was munching on some snacks. Ashely's voice broke his daydreaming.

"Yeah. A city of dryads." He echoed the fairy's words, with still feeling light-headed. Slowly he came back to reality. " OUR furry friend?? No no no. That chipmunk may be your buddy, but it's definitely not mine."

The fairy took out another crystal. She explained it works like a video camera. "Yeah that's a good idea!" He was impressed and sad at the same time. Arion remembered back to the night he was taken away. He had his phone in his pockets, and now it was back in his dorm. The batteries were dead for a great while. He had no way to charge it, it was useless, but the vampire still hold onto it.

"Maybe." Arion tried to focus more on his vision. There was nothing around. He was bored, so he decided to do what anyone would so. Scare the living h.ell out of his partners. "Nothing... wait... wait!! There's a black cloud looking thing!! It has glowing green eyes!! And it's coming this way, RUN!!!!" He let the fairy take in his words for a few minutes, before he bursted out laughing.

(@vanilla viking: reminder, the dryad city was completely abandoned)

Ashley's POV

Ashley rolled her eyes, used to this sort of thing from Silvius. She was still busy using the crystal camera she designed as part of her alchemy class. "Oh ha-hah, very funny Arion. Silvius pulls those pranks all the time." She retorted, rolling her eyes at her friend as Gem twittered in agreement. "Anyways, I got what I needed. If there are any Dryads still in the area, we better make sure they're OK." She suggested, pocketing the quartz crystal. The diamond light she designed on her wrist was good for this sort of area. Normally, the dryads would be using magelights to keep the place lit with little to no crystals required. They preferred natural magic they used theselves. As far as Ashley knew, magelights were something any creature associated with magic could produce but she wasn't sure about that.

He's just imagining the dryads. They're not there. (And the one he "noticed" is a flashback to his first day.) But no one is there actually. Sorry if it was misleading.

Audrey Chevalier - Vampire

The vampire could feel her each breath become quicker, her blood coursing through her veins as her head whipped back and forth, watching out for loose arms that crackled with red energy take swipes at her. She wanted to turn around to see how Rukath was doing, but was too afraid that she’d get hit if she wasn’t paying full attention.

I’m not sure how much longer I can keep this up, she thought.

The sound of the piercing shrieks rattled her head, gradually bringing weakness to her legs. Audrey fought the desire to collapse on the ground with every bit of strength left in the body that was keeping her alive. She caught a glimpse of the light that came from Rukath’s flaming sword being brought down upon a spirit, followed by the sound of an explosion. The boom was strong enough to feel within her chest, and in an instant, a sudden lump of fear was brought to her throat.

“Rukath!” she screamed, starting to run towards Rukath when a group of spirits floated together in front of her, cutting the path to Rukath off. The last thing she saw was Rukath pointing to the bracelet the Headmaster had given out.

I must fight harder, she thought, feeling the new energy flow through her. This must be Rukath’s remaining mana. I must use it sparingly to keep him alive.

Audrey tried to focus the foreign mana so that it wouldn’t spin out of control and deplete Rukath too much. She gasped as she saw tiny bits of her blade light up with small sparks of flame, and was suddenly somewhat impressed with the bracelets the Headmaster had forged.

I wonder what kind of Supernatural the Headmaster is. He seems so much like a normal human, she thought, rotating around, eyeing all the spirits that were closing in on her and trying to figure out what to do...or what she can do.

Audrey decided it would be best if she stuck with the same strategy she and Rukath were using before, but she had to single handedly rotate between the two roles. She took a deep breath before diving into the most densely packed area with spirits, blade gripped firmly in her hand.

(Short time skip bc my block won’t let me write out the fighting in detail)

Beads of sweat formed on her forehead and slid down both sides of her face, soaking her hair, which had become matted from all the tumbling in the dirt. Her legs were covered in scrapes and a nasty gash trailed from above her ear and across her cheekbone. The arm that held the blade firmly half an hour ago had weakened from the constant stabs and slashes. Much to her surprise, the spirits’ attacks were much less frequent now. She received such infrequent attacks that she began to worry. Audrey raised her head and looked up at a spirit, who had one of its limbs raise, preparing to strike. The vampire rolled out of the way just in time as the arm struck the ground besides her. Thinking that she had dodged the attack and was ready to retaliate, she prepared to get up. However, just when Audrey was about to regain her balance, the spirit struck her from behind with such force that she was thrown against a tree trunk, feeling blood spurt from her mouth as her back slammed against the tree.

When Audrey’s vision cleared, what she saw wanted to make her jump to her feet. Instead of finishing her off, the spirits had shifted their focus back to Rukath, who was severely injured.

“NOT YET!!” she hollered at the spirits.

COME ON, MOVE, she commanded her body, but both her arms and legs refused to budge even by a tiny bit. I NEED MORE POWER! MORE!

Audrey strained her eyes to look down on her blood covered clothes, thinking if it would be the last day she’d live today.

“AH!” she shrieked as a stab of pain hit her in the back of her neck. When she looked back down, her veins in her arms were suddenly visible, and inside them was blood as black as midnight. It terrified her, but her body didn’t have enough strength to react to the fear of itself. A wave of dizziness washed over her, blurring her vision again. Although nothing was clear, she managed to make out several black rings surround her, spinning around her motionless body.

What is this, what’s happening? Were the last thoughts that crossed her mind before the world faded around her.

A few moments later Audrey opened her eyes again, and strangely enough, the pain was gone. The aching was gone. Her body felt light and flexible. She snapped out of her wonder when her eyes met Rukath’s, who was surrounded by spirits. She immediately reached for the blade that was thrown out of her hand, and screamed when she saw her arm. Instead of her usual pale skin, her arm was covered in a dark violet skeleton of some sort. Instead of hands, she had claws. Instead of the blade, there was a mechanical ball that glowed with a strange purple energy she’d never seen before.

What have I become?! What is this ball?! Can I use it?!, she panicked, not caring about her monstrous appearance, grabbing the ball in her hands and trying to fumble with it in order to find an on button of some sort.

Hold on in there Rukath! Her mind raced, becoming frustrated after 30 seconds.

Not being able to find a button, she threw the ball straight into the group of spirits, and much to her fear of being responsible for the death of someone else, the ball hit the floor around two meters from where she was. Not knowing what to do, she immediately ran to pick the ball up, her arm outstretched. Before she was able to get to the ball, it flew straight off the ground and into the group of spirits, and threw all of them aside. Astonished, she ran through the part the ball had created and to Rukath. She crouched down in front of him and gently placed her claws on either side of his face.

“I don’t know what I am or what I’ve become, but I promise that I’ve not become a monster and that both of us will get out of here alive,” she told him in a soft voice before getting up and hurrying back to the ball.

What is this thing? How did I control it. I’ll throw it again, she strategized reaching for the ball but just as her fingertips skimmed the surface, it flew straight into a spirit, shattering it completely. Audrey didn’t even stop to admire what the ball could do, and immediately flicked her wrist in the direction of a different spirit. An expression of hope spread across her face as the ball moved accordingly. Without knowing, she turned her hand toward Rukath and the ball obeyed.

With wide eyes, she turned around, holding her breath. She exhaled when she saw that she hadn’t shattered his body. Instead, there was a dome to be seen around him.

Woah.

(Another short time skip)

Although the transformation had given her a strangely useful mechanical ball, Audrey eventually grew weak, but the number of spirits dwindled, until there was no more. Upon demolishing the last one, the vampire collapsed on the ground ou

It was hard for Rukath to keep a conscious mind but he feared what would happen if he let the blackness at the edge of his vision cover his eyes like a mask. He watched between the spirits and every now and then he could see Audrey wielding a flaming sword as she attacked the spirits. Time seemed to pass slowly as Rukath watched Audrey's battle, with the little bit of mana Rukath had left he tried to heal himself, however, with each injury Audrey endured he gave up a little bit more of his remaining mana so that she would not fall.

When Audrey was thrown against a tree, the spirits shift their focus once again to Rukath. He was barely able to raise one of his hands, the other remined on the larger of one of his cuts. He tried to conjure some flame to defend himself but nothing came from his palm, not even a spark. His hand fell to the ground, the blackness creeped in a little more and he barely heared Adurey yelling and screaming.

Rukath looked over at Audrey and was both scared and amazed when he saw black rings forming and swirling around Audrey, what is happening to her?! he thought frantically as the remaining spirits closed in around him, he gritted his teeth I WILL NOT hideTODAY he difiently thought. Rukath looked away from the advancing spirits and over at Audrey only to meet eyes with black and purple being that seemed to be held together with energy, it screamed as it was momentarily afraid of itself, was that what was happening to Audrey?!.

The being picked up some ball like thing and looked confused with it before throwing it and Rukath and the spirits that were getting very close, some of their claws were mere feet from his face. It hit the ground with a strange sound that Rukath could not describe. It was not far from Rukath and the spirits but did nothing as it sat in the blood staineded ground. Rukath watched as the black creature went ot retrieve the ball and was amazed as the weapon flew off of the ground and sent the spirits that was coming for him flying off in all different directions, creating a path between the spirits.

Rukath looked up in fear, wonder and realization when the black energy being ran at him, crouched down and placed its hands on either side of his face with great care. It had to be Audrey, he could not forget her voice. Rukath could only manage a smile at her words as it hurt to even breath to deep. He watched with greater hope as Audrey quickly figured out the orb thing and began to take out the spirits with ease. He barely flinched as she sent the orb flying at him but was thankful when he saw the orb create a protective dome around him.

Rukath watched as Audrey took each of the spirits down until not one remained. She collapsed once she had finished off the last red spirit, her body still glowing with some kind of energy. Once she had collapsed, the orb stopped projecting its protective barrier and came to a light resting next to Rukath. Rukath took hold to the strange orb and began using it to drag his body over to the still form of Audrey.

It seemed to take a painful eternity but Rukath did not want to be away from Audrey at this time. Once he reached her, Rukath rolled the orb off to the side and laid down next to Audrey. With no fighting to be had their mana supply could replenish but Rukath kept up the link anyway, felling that they might be best off like that, just in case. When Rukath had regained some energy back he reached over and took one of Audrey's black, purple, and clawed hands, "I love you" he admitted in a physically pained voice. He was in to much pain and to exhausted to care about holding back the feelings he had for Audrey.

Dirmir - Kelpie

Dirmir rolled her eyes at Silvius's comment about spy movies, he was just as bad as some of the men from her old school. She watched as he talked with Hathea and chuckled when the banshee guessed what Silvius was talking about. Dirmir shook her head when she saw Silvius fiddling at his bracelet, he was obviously at a loss for words. Using her left index finger, Dirmir wacked Silvius on the back of the hand he was using to fiddle with the bracelet, "if you keep that you will break it" Audrey told Silvius before turning to the Banshee. "Sorry about that" she apologized, "no worries young one, what is with bracelets?" she questioned, "oh these things, a trinket Ashley found while I showed her and Silvius around earlier, she gave one to each of us, supposed to light up or something" Dirmir casually lied, something she had practice with.
"now for the reason we are here, silver hair here has taken a great interest in these red spirits, why? I don't know, personally they freak me out, and would like to know where they best could be found, I am only here as a guide and a little curiosity" Dirmir continued to lie. The banshee chuckled at her words, "well spirit hunters, they seem to congregate around areas of high mana or energy, places like the palace and homes of powerful supernaturals" the banshee told them with a smile. "Thank you" Dirmir said before turning to leave, "come on Silvius" she called to her kitsune partner before starting off towards an area that the palace could best be seen.

Silvius's POV

"Coming Dimir! Thanks for your help Mrs Hathea!" Silvius replied, hurrying to catch up with the Kelpie. He was actually glad to have her to help him lose focus from time to time. He sighed in relief as the Kelpie covered for them. "Wow, thanks for covering for us back there. So at least now we know where to start looking for those red spirits thanks to Mrs Hathea." He mused, walking alongside the demon. "So, would you happen to know any highly mana rich places around here? I know of a few over in Shinto Shrines, but not here." He asked, easily keeping pace with her.

Arion - Vampire

The fairy was not amused by his trick. Right, his brother. Great, but I'll prank her while we're on this mission! It'll be my side mission! Muhaha. After Ashley stopped adjusting the crystal, she turned serious.

"Dryads here? I don't think we'll find any." He stated with a blushing face. Luckily, the dark covered him. "But I can check to be sure." Quickly before the fairy could turn on her light, he focused on his surroundings, and turned on his great vision. "As thought. We're completly alone here." He tried not to sound disappointed.

After Ashley's crystal started glowing, Arion immediately lost his supernatural vision. Since he knew they were safe, he didn't mind it, so he decided not to mention it. What if Ashley or Gem is afraid of the dark? It'd be awkward to ask. Besides, I still have my hearing.

"We should hurry up. I know this isn't a comptetion... but I really don't want to be the last to complete this quest. And I bet you'd like to beat your brother as well." The vampire winked at the fairy as he fastened his steps.

Ashley stood up, glad for the extra light. Normally, magelights generated by the magic in the area would light it up but she was glad for the diamond light bracelet she made for her alchemy class and her friend's night vision. "Yeah, and a few pranks wouldn't hurt either. Silvius and I used to prank each other all the time. But he knew my alchemy experiments were always off limits. If he screwed with my projcets, he'd be one of them." She told Arion, Gem twittering in response from her pocket hiding place. She put the crystal she used for recording the images away. "Hey, you know what would make things easier? Having one of those enchanted infinity bags. You know, those bags that provide you with everything you need for the day?" Ashley mused, thinking of the bags her Aunt Camilla told her about. They were all the rage and they supposedly provided you with everything ya needed for the day. She made a mental note to investigate in town if they had them for sale. If she could afford it, she'd get one for Arion too if he wanted one.

Dirmir-Kelpie

Silvius quickly caught up to Dirmir and asked where they could find a high mana place, "well Mrs. Hathea mentioned the royal palace so why don't we start there, it is a bit of a long walk in human form and since this is an unfamiliar place for you I do not suggest using your shadow powers, would be best if you did not run into a rather unruly demon or dall into a deep pit" Dirmir stated before changing into her horse form, her green main flowed without wind and look permanantly damp.

Silvius's POV

Silvius nodded, grinning at Dimir. "Ashley will kill me when she finds out I got to go to a palace and she didn't." He commented, shifting into his fox form. "I can use my shadows to help speed us along. If we can get close, we can walk the rest of the way." He suggested, his four tails flicking behind him as he easily kept pace with the demonic horse. Foxes were known for their speed back in Society, and it appeared that Kitsune like himself were no exception. He saw all sorts of demonic and non demonic monsters paired off together. He saw devils, Efreet of pretty much every element from fire to air, a few fairies doing business with demon species he couldn't even recognize. "Wow, I had no idea there was such a wide variety of demons. Ashley could probably tell you who was what type. That wind Efreet for instance, she could probably tell you who she worked for and where she came from culture wise." The Kitsune mused, glancing over to a wind Efreet with a swirl of sand around her waist running a pottery stand in the marketplace. He smiled at that as she did business with a little imp boy and his devil mama.

~Just a note~

If anyone here hasn't seen the discord yet, I'll just give a notification that a lot of the people in the rp, myself included, are busy with school. It's completely alright to reply less, but please get back at least twice or maybe three times a month. I know how busy school can be, so any reply will be appreciated.

Vanilla and Skyhunter, you guys can keep on going as long as your characters dont get too far ahead. I'm not always signed onto forum but I will be reading any new posts.

As for now, I'll be doing occassional work on the plot for the next roleplay!
