The Trial of Riders ~ 9 Spot Httyd RP
Rogue noticed another viking headed towards the finish line. Pulling out a small grenade-like ball, she hucked one at Ivy and another one at Madrielle, who was dangerously too close for comfort. She could smelled the disgusting yaknog.
((maybe we're all a bit too nice to each other, letting someone else take first XD and yet no one's gonna take it since we're all waiting for someone else to do it. I'll edit accordingly to what we decide))
Good news, the teamup worked out.
Bad news, her ally was down.
Fortunetly, there were close enough to the finish line that it wasn't too much of a problem.
They barely made it before one of the other Skrill riders started throwing some nasty smelling bombs.
Collapsing on the ground, Paz threw her fist in the air before saying "We made it!" half-heartedly to whoever heard her.
Looking up, she saw that they weren't the only ones out of the clear.
'I hope Westra made it too...'
"Rude!" Stormy bellowed at Rogue, coughing as she waved away the horrid smell. "Now I'll have to smell like rotten eggs for the rest of the week!" She took out a small dagger from her belt and expertly launched it towards the offenders, hoping to at least hit Ivy, Maidrelle, or Rogue in the leg or something. Maiming wasn't against the rules, Stormy noted, and her Berserker tendencies were really starting to redden her vision. Not good.
((Yeah, I don't wanna feel mean and just go ahead and be like 'well Imma be in first place' or something, so I will take my normal indecisive stance and let y'all decide what place I get :P Stormy is just tryna stay alive.))
((Please remember the flightmare mist I threw at yall))
Madrielle spluttered as the yaknog exploded against the side of her face, and she began to spit, trying to remove the disgusting taste from her mouth. Her right arm swept against her eye, rubbing it to remove the traces of yaknog surrounding it. She barely lost pace, however, determined to make it to the line first, especially since the others weren't far behind.
A knife scraped against her leather boot, and she was grateful that the hide was so resilient. There was a small censored in her ankle from where the weapon had touched her, and whilst she was annoyed, she couldn't afford to retaliate. Flinging the sword still in her left hand somewhere behind her, she practically flung herself across the finish line.
((Since nobody else seems to want to go for it, I'll finish in first place unless anybody else wants to of managed to spring just ahead.))
Rogue was only a few feet away from the line when a knife nicked her leg, making her trip over the white line. Blood started dripping down from the shallow cut.
"I'LL GUT YOU FOR THAT!" Rogue thundered as came to a shaky halt behind the finish line.
Rogue, finished with the finale maze race, sat down and whistled for Spartan, who had a medical kit among the other harmful weapons in her pack. She glowered at Stormy as she came running up.
"Next time aim for someone else," Rogue growled at the viking.
"Sorry about that!" Stormy sniggered at Rogue. "I guess I'll just have to watch my aim." She launched towards the finish line, but a bout of Flightmare mist hovered in her way. "Curses!" She ducked and rolled under it, but some of the mist manage to immobilize her wounded shoulder. Which was good, in a way, for she could no longer feel the pain. She dragged the dead weight across the finish line and collapsed in a heap, unsure of what place she was in, but not really caring.
The red cloud in her vision vanished and Stormy had full impulse control once again. She spied Rogue. "Sorry about the dagger, though, really," she said. "That's what happens when you don't give any rules to a Berserker." She looked around and spotted Hurricane, but she signaled for him to stay, while she waited for the results.
Stormy apologized halfheartedly. Rogue snorted.
"As if I would be any sorrier for slicing you in the final stretch," she said, finishing bandaging her leg.
"I supose so," Rogue said in reply yo Stormy's comment about Berserkers.
"And that's," she said, pointing to the approaching yaknog covered competitors, "what happens when you set me loose with my ideas,." Spartan grinned, taking pride in his rider's q.ueer and totally boss ideas and riding skills.
"Is your arm ok?" She asked
(( would it be ok if VexyLu finished first, and everyone didn't realise? I want her to come about second or third, but they are gone))
I don't think anybody came second? I only see third.
If not, we can always draw ^^
Stormy looked up, briefly touched by Rogue's concern about her arm. "I'll be fine," she said, with a slight grimace. "I actually don't know where that disk came from." She glanced over at Paz. "Just glad it hit me instead of you," she said to the younger Berkian. Then, she whistled for Hurricane, who came trotting over. She reached into his saddlebag and began patching up her wound. "Won't bother me for long," she muttered, as the dragon nuzzled her affectionately.
((I'm naturally assuming Stormy came in around fifth, cause it makes chronological sense. Don't matter teh me :P)
Nightshade from a distance saw a figure flop outside of the hedge maze. The Triple Stryke instantly knew that it was IVy, she ahd discussed her plans with her. With a loud roar, Nightshade unbraided her tails and used them to pick up Ivy's cloak, sword, bow and gloves. She flew over the hedge maze casting a large shadow on the contests below. She touched down at the finish line and waited.
Ivy hared across the grass, she rounded the bend, there she saw two girls already waiting. To make sure she was playing somewhat fair, she ran passed them and back into the maze. Then she turned aorund and actually crossed the finish line scoring second.
1. Vexy Lu
What if I were to just put them both in last and second to last place and you could have them eliminated?
((I'm going to make VexyLu come first, if anyone has any objections please tell me. If they do VexyLu could come second. ))
The guy was slow (no offence), too slow.
VexyLu was never going to finish in a reasonable place if she followed him.
She remembered how she had climbed up the hedge.
That gave her an idea.
In a minute or two, VexyLu was jumping hedge too hedge, over the maze.
If was exhausting, but surprising fast and quiet.
She could see a few other competitors, lost in the maze.
If she kept this pace, maybe she could at least make it fifth.
Over the hedge she continued until she made it to the edge of the maze.
She was exhausted but with every last bit of energy she had, she sprinted to the finish line.
When she got there she was panting, and felt like she was going to throw up.
She looked around. Where was everyone else?
Had they already finished and left her?
No. She had over taken some before.
The dragon riders were there, waiting for her.
"Congrats, VexyLu, you have won," was all she heard before she collapsed.
VexyLu awoke to the sound of squabbling.
She sat up and saw other competitors, a lot running toward the end of the maze.
VexyLu quickly stood up, she didn't want the others to know she had collapsed. She was a little shaky, but could stand.
She wasn't sure if she could walk though.
By her side was her smokebreath.
I did suggest both of us tying for first, although I don't really mind if I'm second or third. I'll likely place a lot lower on some of the other parts, as Madrielle is a lot more skilled on foot than as a rider.
I didn't see that!
I must of been writing that when you posted that!
Do you want me to change it?
I don't really mind either way now that it's all been sorted out ^^
Don't worry too much about it fam, I'm fine with second unless you want to tie for the competitive spirit ;p
(( I feel really bad, so this is what happens))
When VexyLu jumped down from the last hedge, she saw another rider almost at the finish line.
She had to catch her!
VexyLu sprinted for the finish line.
She caught up with the girl, but VexyLu was exhausted.
She could of overtaken her, if she wasn't so tired.
The pair raced right to the finish line.
If VexyLu tried to stop her and failed, it would really slow her down.
All she could do was run.
She crossed the finish line, and all she heard was a voice, "Congratulations you too have tied for first!"
(And then everything else happens)
(After VexyLu awakes)
"I will gut you if you dare tell anyone I fainted."
((Is that better? Once again I am really sorry))
Westra thought she was going crazy! All these paths and the twists and turns. Too much. Westra gave up on running and slowly made her way through the maze, continulessly running into death ends. Westra knew she was going to get last. The gods just weren't on her side. Westra stashed away her slingshot and pulled out her axe in stead. If only Geminia were here. He'd help. As Westra moved through the maze movering her path carefully in her head. It looked like it would take roughly around ten more minutes. Yeah! Unless she ran for it. That give her a chance! Westra quickly started sprinting as fast as she could. She could her voices. Yes! She was getting closer. It was just beyond this hedge, she could fell it.
((You could probably just put Westra anywhere. I don't really care. You could probably give her last. She doing really bad right now.))
((Rogue came in second, according to my posts. Enough time elapsed between Rogue and Stormy's crossing for others to arrive and cross))
Cresla already called that spot for her character, and so had every spot over 4th place. I'll have Pax and Rouge switch.
Ivy was probably quite a horrifying sight for the two contestants already there. Her hair was a mattede mess filled with twigs and leaves. She still had briars and burrs stuck in her skin as, blood dripped down her arm. Exahusted she slowed down and allowed herself to sit down. Nightshade whinned and sniffed her wounds. Ivy diddnt pay the dragon any attetion as it began to lick the burrs and twigs off her. Dragon saliva had healing properties. Ivy allowed Nightshade to lick away the blood and the thorns. And she allowed Nightshade to groom her hair back.
Now free of burrs and twigs, Ivy picked up her cloak. Nightshade stepped back with a indignate snort as Ivy clasped her cloak on. She pulled the hood over her head hiding the messy hair. The black cloth draped over her shoulders and arms hiding any exposed scracthed skin.
The hedge russled and suddenly Xander burst forth, panting. Banshee followed shortly after screeching loudly in the process. Nightshade perked up and left Ivy's side bounding right over her rider's head. Nightshade landed infront of Banshee with a playful growl.
((That is exactly what I was going for. XD))
Nightshade leaned forward and sniffed a lighting stripe on Banshee's shoulder. She jerked back as it illuminated. Ivy lolled out she tounge and ducked into a playful bow, she looked behind her and unbraided then rebraided her tails. Quickly she looked back at Banshee, then back at her tails.
Ivy smiled as she watched Nightshade and Banshee play. Only she could bring out the puppy side attitude in her dragon, but apparently, so could Banshee. Ivy leaned down and picked up her sword and quiver, putting them on. She reached out with her with hand to pick up her gloves, revealing her spiral shaped burn and a few scratches from going through the maze.
She finally made her way to the finish line. She tucked away her axe and stumbled over it. But it looked as if almost everyone else was already out. Westra sighed. But there were still two others in the maze. At least she wasn't in last. Geminia came over to her and Westra collapsed on her. At least this round was over.
Banshee flapped his wings and raised his head in a screech. Nightshade join into his chorous with a loud roar. When she was done she vigerously began nodding her head to Banshee inviting him to play. ((I just keep imaging this scene x3))
Ivy slipped on her gloves, her eyes slid over to Xander who was adjusting his cloak. She placed a hand on her arm and look back to their dragons. Ivy puffed a sigh, she usually worked alone... Ivy walked over to Xander just as he finished fastening his cloak.
"They seem to be getting along." She said to him, crossing her arms in the process.
"Yeah, sorry that happened. I might have something in my bag for that." Paz replied to Stormy before letting out a sharp whistle. It didn't take long for Minty to come swooping in next to her. Begrudgingly, Paz picked herself up and rummaged through her satchel that she had left in a storage compartement on Minty's saddle that morning.
After a few more minutes, Paz pulled out two small containers.
"This one has honey in it, which will help heal the wound faster, and this one has aloe vera, which will ease the pain. The honey's gonna sting a bit and aloe vera's hard to come by, so don't use a lot of it."
Paz handed her the two bottles for the other girl to use, then went back to her dragon.
"Let me guess, you stayed with the other dragons like you were supposed to and made up with that Flightmare, right?"
Minty gave a reluctant sigh before nodding her head.
"I don't entirely believe you, but for now I'll take your nod for it!"
Once Stormy had finished with the bottles, the rest of the competitors had crossed the finish line, including Westra, which reminded her of something.
Walking up to the girl awkwardly, Paz apologized, "Ok, so maybe I wasn't entirely paying attention when you had asked for help, and totally left you in the dust. I understand if you're mad at me, sorry."
She smiled at Paz. "You know I don't get mad at people," she said to her. "Who is that?" She asked pointing to the girl with a skrill over her shoulder who looked to be holding two bottles. One filled with golden liquid and the other with green slime.
((I am sooooooo sorry! My genius mom decided to take phone away and then take it for another day because I wouldn't answer her calls-_- can someone explain what happened?))
Mumbling a "thank you" to Paz, Stormy uncorked one bottle with her teeth and unceremoniously dumped the liquid on her wound. Berserkers never had much taste for delicacy. Spitting out the cork, she looked up at the blonde Viking, who had just inquired about her. "Name's Stormy," she said, before Paz could answer for her. "This is Hurricane." She nodded at the Skrill. "Pleased ta meet ya."
Nightshade gave Banshee a toothy grin.
'Rawk!' She said and hared after him, giving the chase. She chased him all the way across the clearing. Then she stopped and lundged at a small sapling tree. She pulled and tugged at it before uprooting it. Nightshade teased Banshee with the tree before hurling away, only pausing to see if he was giving a chase.
((Heh... Why not?))
Ivy saw the muscles beneath Xander's cloak relax a little, she guessed that he was smiling underneath that mask of his.
"Yeah, its strange for him though." Xander replied. Ivy shrugged, not many other dragons could get that reaction out of Nightshade either. Ivy sighed and let her arms flop to her sides.
"Since our dragons seem to enjoy each other, I gues its ineviatable," She frowned, "so... allies?"
((Sorry that took a while. Had to make the GIF))
"Nice to meet you. Stoemy, Hurricane." She said to them both. "I'm Westra. And this is Geminia." In which Geminia came over and Westra patted his head.
Madrielle wiped the last remains of yaknog from her eyes as Akyra dropped her thrown sword in front of her. Picking it up, the viking smiled gratefully before sliding it into its harness at her waist.
"That was a good competition!" she declared, her voice unexpectedly loud and full for somebody who had not spoken at all thus far. Akyra trailed at her heels, and she ruffled the flightmare's head as she marched up to VexyLu.
She extended her hand in a thrusting gesture that could of been misinterpreted as an attack in any other situation. "Well done!" the viking practically bellowed as she spread out her fingers, indicating a handshake. "You did well!"
((Yes, but I have a question; Is there a break between rounds?))
I'd personally go for the third option. Spacing it out will give more time for better-quality rp, as well as helping people who live in different timezones.
"Thank you," she replied, as she grinned, "but you better practise because next round I'm going to smash you!" (This is a joke, so don't take it seriously.)
VexyLu shook her hand.
Nightshade and Banshee ran around, chasing each other and knocking over some vikings in their midst.
"Allies." Xander agreed and extended his hand for a handshake. Ivy removed her glove and accepted the handshake with her scarred palm.
((Yeah, Im ready))
The viking's fingers tightened around Vexy's hand, and she gave an incredibly hearty shake.
"Ha! That's a large threat coming from somebody as young as you!" she joked, a smile dancing on her lips. "I doubt you could even lift a hammer to crush me with!"
From behind her, Akyra slid past, pointing her nose towards the Smokebreath. "You're as little as your trainer is," she hissed, her voice bearing a softness to it that greatly contrasted to her trainers' actions.
