Ugh.

Customers for at least the last 3 years:

"How come your stuff is this price? It's so much cheaper online"

"It'll take a week to come in? Never mind, I'll get it online"

"I like this. How many do I need? I... I'll think about it". (goes outside and fiddles sneakily with mobile phone)

"OMG you don't have that? You never have anything I want!!! I'll have to get it online"

Customers since we announced that we were closing:

"Why are you closing??? You can't close!!!"

"Oh, I never shop online!"

"I hate the Internet!"

"But you can't tell what it's really like on the Internet!"

More Peeves

When people draw characters in ways they shouldn't be drawn.

You should know what I mean. I mean, seriously, what is going through these peoples' minds at this point?

Why would they get the idea to draw that, and then, post it to the Internet?

Whhhhhhhyyyyyyyyy

I'm surprised that their computer doesn't launch into flames when they post that to the internet because it. Is. Horrifying.

Yes. That is a moment where one would like to tell ask the person what was wrong with them? .....If you could know who it was. It's more understandable if the toilet is clogged but you would think they would try to tell someone about that. (I usually try to flush it despite my annoyance)

Pietercat calmly complains.

When people think I'm a huge otaku. Guys, please understand that I am not an otaku. Just because I watch two or three animes doesn't mean I'm an automatic otaku, jeez. I even hate most mainstream animes.

When I forget my handkerchief at home. Ugh, this bothers me horribly. I simply cannot live without a trusty handkerchief by my side, for some odd reason. At times, when I sweat in small amounts or spill something on my uniform, I just found myself longing for a handkerchief. I start to twitch and start using PAPER to ease the tension.

When my eraser just vanishes. I can lose my erasers easily, and when I do, it creates pressure. I need my eraser. I need it, badly, especially now that graduation's coming. Now we won't have any classes, and every free time, I found myself drawing some character. I make a small mistake, but then I don't have an eraser. Then it creates tension, and then my OCD starts kicking in.

I want to straighten that line. I want to change the pattern. I want to change the shape. But I cannot. Because my eraser just... vanished.

When my OCD is activated. Whenever my OCD kicks in, I start to twitch, my mind goes blank, and I freeze. Then, I just want to scream because I feel as if something is not quite right.

  • The whole fruit infusion trend. What utter nonsense. Such a waste, too. What is the practical purpose of fruit-infused water? Apart from being totally hip and cool, that is, apparently.

  • Dirty laptops. I cannot stress this enough: Clean your laptop before taking it to the repairman. I'm the repairman and you make me vomit. Literally. I can't remember how often I had to run to the loo so I wouldn't throw up on someone's poor, abused device. At least get rid of the crumbs/skin cells//dandruff/dead layers of mush/CHEWED OFF NAILS- I SWEAR TO- I'm going to throw up on someone's laptop one day and I will get myself out of trouble by berating the owner because this is riduculous. Disgusting. At least clean your snot- and spit covered screen. You're disgusting.

  • When boyfriend-chan (the DM) complains about us (the players) for being too dense and not getting clues. Son, maybe your clues are super ambigious and only you can understand them haha. We're 3 players and a DM. At least one of us should get clues, but your clues are too vague, man haha

  • External hard disks that REFUSE to eject or be removed by any other normal means. What am I supposed to do? Pull it out just like that? Tell me, Windows. Tell me. What do you want me to do. It should be clear that eject means that I want all that's happening to the HDD to stop what it's doing now. Geez. Don't give me an error telling me the drive is busy. It ain't, son.
Oh, cool. It FINALLY ejected now. It only took it about FIVE MINUTES.

Though not laptops, I've

Though not laptops, I've encountered a few PCs at my workplace that are horribly dirty - to the point that there are actual dead bugs in the things on top of being caked with dust. Granted, these are machines standing in factories, but geez louise they need to find more dust-free areas for them. Once they get clogged up enough they're likely to fail. But still, I feel you on that one. Dirty machines are terrible to deal with, be it laptop or PC.

Also feeling you on the external hard disks thing. Especially when I immediately need said external and can't sit around waiting for it to decide what year it wants to eject - stuff needs doing now.

PCs can be pretty bad as well, but it's usually limited to smoke dust and stuff like that. (although smoke dust STINKS really bad, like- also pretty vomit worthy).

It's not easy to find a dust-free place for a pc. Dust will always accumulate in those things anyway. Blowing it out using a compressor or canned air can do enough most times. It just needs to happen more frequently when a PC is in an exceptionally dusty environment.

Hee hee, I once recall finding a full-fledged spider web in a case once. Still, give me a spider web over dandruff LOL

Yes exactly! Plus I can't just pull them out or the files might get corrupted. I don't want my stuff to go full zalgo on me ever again :C

Gotta wait. Gotta wait for Windows to start doing a thing.. never soon... never soon. I'm glad that it works in Linux I guess haha

Yeah I know that already, but

Yeah I know that already, but the factories where these things stand  are like, super dusty - in one of them they sand down fiberglass stuff there. So there's tons fo much accumulating a lot quicker, especially those standing right in the open - not even behind or under anything like a table. I had to get a soft brush and my canned air to get one PC in particular cleaned because it was just caked in filth everywhere. In the aftermath, the floor of my office pretty much looked like the factory where the thing stands. Ew. Plus I don't think anyone ever bothered to clean the thing until I started working there.

Yeah. I usually don't have time for that, because it's either for a PC that's getting Windows installed/reinstalled, malware cleanup (in which case it needs to get done ASAP so that work can continue), or it's a server. Can't just do anything to a server otherwise there's an even bigger mess. :I

Yeah I woudn't just put the blower on a PC potentially filled with fiberglass dust www

People never clean their computers. I wonder why because absolutely everything accumulates in there, and when people realise it's usually too late anyway. It's their loss, I suppose :þ

Yeah same. I have very few sticks with scanners and stuff, and a lot of computers to use them on. I need to plug, transfer/run, unplug, plug into Linux for virus scan aaand repeat.

The flow gets messed up when Windows decides it now takes 10 minutes to remove a device- aaaa

Yeah. Luckily we haven't had a failure due to a PC getting loads of muck in it...yet.

Yeah, when there's something funky on with someone's PC I don't wanna just get the stuff off from the file server, so I use an external or a USB stick that I have for this sort of thing (which usually have the latest versions of the programs I use anyway). I'd rather try and keep the nasty on one PC and kill it there, thanks.

>People that drink and don't understand why others don't. Every time I go out with my family or friends, I get people contstantly trying to convince me to go for the alcoholic drinks instead of what I actually want. Or they just make fun of me for it. Every single time. I can't stand it. Honestly, I respect the fact that you drink. Please respect the fact that I don't.

>Also, people who smoke in cars. Just in cars. I couldn't care less if you're a smoker or not. Smoke whenever you want, wherever you want, whatever you want, that's your choice and I respect that. But please, please do not do it while I am trapped in a car with you, with no means of avoiding the smoke. Pollute your own air, not mine.

Worst luck, both of these have happened today alone  ._.

I never understood that either. Why does everyone /have/ to drink? Why do people need to be peer-pressured into this? I don't like alcohol. It tastes like how a dentist office smells. I'd rather have a cheaper drink I can actually enjoy.

I'm glad I have cool friends who don't give a crap at all. They always instantly order a coke along with their masses of beers haha.

My family likes being 'cool' though. Drinking is cool, right?

I don't pressure people into taking my drug stuffs please don't pressure me into taking yours. Pressuring people into unhealthy behaviour is bad and people should feel bad.

And yeah I do agree with the smoking in cars part. As a sort-of smoker myself, there's days in which I'd like to enjoy some fresh air. Plus, car smoke goes out of the driver's window right into mine. Yeck. It makes my throat all dry and- ugh.

I always ask people if they're ok with me lighting a smoke inside. Back when I didn't smoke, no one ever asked me. :/

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I agree completely. And you're lucky your friends are so cool about it, it would make things so much easier. Mine don't seem to understand at all :/

And it always seems a little impolite to me when people don't ask first. But it's pretty common not to ask. I don't have any problem with smokers in general (half the people I know are smokers. I've helped clean up spilt bong water many times. It doesn't really phase me), but it does start to bug me when I have absolutely no way to avoid breathing in their smoke. I mean, it's their choice to breathe all that in, not mine. I would have thought it would be common courtesy to ask before filling the air with an inescapable cloud of grossness. A lot of people seem to disagree with that though.

My friends are cool. They lives are about booze and they respect my choice and I love it haha. They still ask me whether I'd like a drink or join with shots, but they won't try to pressure me when I say no.  They' ll move on and find someone else for their shenanigans.

Wew. You're hardcore. Bong water still disgusts me greatly. My boyfriend always complains about how /he/ is always the one to replace it. (I' m hyperosmic, I can't help it haha).

And yeah second hand smoking is gross, I agree. I'm not into much into tobacco and when people smoke around me it's.. Eh. Don't like it. I'm breathing in someone's smoke but I'd like to have my own choice on whether I'm breathing in smoke or not tyvm.

Then again, if I'm chilling with people I'm not going to be a buzz kill by telling everyone not to smoke around me in a room. It's just people on the streets who tend to bother me.

People on the streets don't bother me at all, since it's outside. The smoke mostly just blows away. Even indoors is usually fine, unless the room is incredibly tiny. It's only when people do it in such a small, confined space that I start to have a problem with it. That's why I dislike when people smoke in cars. Even if they open a window, a lot of the smoke is still blown back into the car. It's not very pleasant XD

I understand not wanting to be a buzz kill, too. I don't like doing that much either.

I /definitely/ think peple on the streets are rude. Plz move if you're waiting at the bus stop during a thunderstorm. Go stand in the rain or something, don't bother the rest of us. It doesn't blow away, either, it just collects in the lil' booth. I mean- if there's ONE smoker and like 5 people at a bus stop... don't smoke right next to them? what the heck man.

I don't really mind it ont he streets usually, but if people can't get away from the smoke, that's just bad.

Sometimes I Don't Get People

I'll never understand why people try to pressure others into drinking. I personally love beer...like, to the point where if it's cheap beer, I'm snobbish and refuse to drink it and will spend a pretty penny for the good stuff. I genuinely like the taste. And, due to my family, I've been developing a wine palette and figuring out which wine goes best with what meal. I'm not much for the intoxication; once I notice myself rambling, I decide I've had enough. But I do like it. But I understand that not everyone likes the taste of beer or wine or daiquiris or whatever other drinks I crave for, and I can't stand it when I see people trying to get others to drink when they don't want to. You should never pressure people like that. It is absolutely fine if you don't want to drink. If you just want to a juice or something, I'm more than happy for you. (In fact, that makes you a great asset in my group. You can be the Designated Driver! I hate getting stuck with that job when we go somewhere nice.)

Rockatoa?

That last one, though...well, yeah. So is Percy Jackson and The Matrix and even the Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest written story we have. This is a story that's probably as old as the written word. It's called the Hero's Journey. Here's a video I found on it: The Hero's Journey. You'll probably run across it in a literature class at some point. And personally, I'm a huge sucker for the Hero's Journey story-arc in most of its forms. XD

Just out of curiosity, what does Rockatoa stand for?

One person who identifies as "white" may have a bad experience with someone they identify as "black." This makes the white person dislike all black people. It may be that this experience was truly traumatic, and they deserve sympathy and comfort, and their prejudice is undestandable.

However, it doesn't make their racism justified.

The same applies whether the person's prejudices are sexist, nationalist, or even speciest (hating dogs because one bit you or something like that). It's best to never make the mistake of blaming a group for an individual's actions; not only is it nicer and wiser, but the individual person will be happier, too, as they will live with less fear and hatred.

I wasn't trying to justify his actions, I just wanted to bring up the reason behind his dislikes

I'll be honest, I feel uncomfortable around people like Brick because I'm a girl with some slight learning problems (or as he probably would describe it, a "mental r.etard"), and I'm afraid that he'll attack me for those reasons

But then again, I could just be being paranoid or something.

Sorry to hear that. I certainly hope he wouldn't do that. But knowing Brick, if he attacks you, it's probably because he's a bit frightened, too, poor thing. I meant what I said about being happier if you let go of prejudices and hatred; Brick strikes me as someone a bit uncomfortable and afraid of others, hence why he gets defensive and sticks to set patterns. But he's really not a bad guy; if he ever is insensative to you, he'll stop if you kindly draw his attention to it.

More lists.

I still got more on the top of my head.

Clouds without rain.

I love rain. Absolutely. But when the dark clouds just kind of linger, even with that rain smell I just hate it. Either rain or not. Make up your mind, weather.

Anyone who forces you to do something.

Ugh, I cannot stress this enough. If I don't want to, I don't want to. Deal with it.

Skinny people saying they're fat.

Be quiet, just because I'm abnormally skinny doesn't mean you're fat. I hate when you complain about being in that perfect zone of body size that makes everyone envious.

I love the rain as well, just not when I need my moped. The rain makes it hard for me to start it because the engine tends to get filled with water ): Plus I can't see anything in the rain because of my glasses haha

Still, rain is great, as long as it isn't too windy out.

When it comes to forcing people to do stuff... No one likes that. Sometimes it's necessary though. Sometimes people need to do important things and they need to get it done or else everyone will get duped :0 (I tell my boyfriend to do his taxes every day, until he does it.

I just hate it when people tell me to do a thing I can also do later or at a more convenient time.

When it comes to people calling themselves fat... I really think this is subjective. I considered myself fat for a while because I gained a lot of weight, but other people would completely flip out when I told them I was on a diet to lose some weight. Like- calm down people, your standards are not my standards, plus it's completely different per place as well. I would be considered skinny in some countries, normal in a lot, and fat in some others.

Like, some people consider a plump tummy to be 'fat', other consider obesity to be 'fat'. There's people who think that not being able to see a set of ribs == 'fat'. I also have my own standards for what 'fat' means in my case. I still find that I'm overweight. Some people tend to say "You're not because I'm fatter" but I'm just ???? what a weird comparison??? you is you? me is me? I'll decide what I am for myself tyvm.

Then again, some people tend to be pushing it. I think it's rude to call yourself fat when you're near people who are very self conscious about their own weight. It's a bit inconsiderate to just do that out of the nothing.

AUGH.

Inappropriate songs in adverts.

Dear advertising people:

Please stop picking random lines out of songs that are popular without listening to the whole thing and understanding what it's actually about. See: recent Thompson travel ad featuring a teddy grinning away to itself, while a bloke with a lovely relaxing voice reads out the first couple of lines of Bohemian Rhapsody.

I really want to see the happy teddy bear smiling over the other lines. It won't get past the censor, so I won't type them out, but we all know how it goes, right? ;) Just the perfect sentiment for a lovely relaxing break in the sun, no? O_o

There are loads of other examples, but one that sticks out from a few years ago was a kids' painkiller ad featuring lots of cutesy nearly naked babies dressed as fairies and flying round... to the tune of You're Gorgeous by Babybird. Well, that's a blast from the 90s and some of you were probably not born when it came out, but I am not typing out the lyrics to it here, not even the partly-cleaned-up swear-free radio edit ones. Suffice to say it's not the sweet love song casual listeners seem to think it is, and it is not appropriate to play it over images of nearly naked babies. Ick.

Yup

Yeah, in terms of OCs, I have a rule of not giving my opinion unless its asked of me. And then if asked, if I have to tell them something negative, I try to give them constructive criticism.

Fun fact!

The banana flavour you loathe is actually based on a real thing. it's called the gros michel, and it nearly was wiped due to fungal infections. Real bananas tastes so different from the extract because we mainly eat cavendish bananas, and they are nothing like artificial banana flavour! That's why we find it to be so 'fake'. We've never had the thing the flavour's based on before :þ

I don't like when "wing" is

I don't like when "wing" is used to qualify as a species name for dragons, its silly that would be like if elemental humans where refered to by "firefingers" "icefingers" "thunderfingers"

thats why i dislike the "Armorwing" and the (almost) "Songwing"

unless the wings are the main thing about the dragon "wing" should not be involved in the name

pretty much everything BUT the wings are armored on the "Armorwing"

"Songwing" do its wings produce songs?!

now if the timberjack was called "The Slicewing" that would make sense but just putting "____wing" as a quicky name is lazy and sounds odd
