((Golden Carrot here! Rock tasked me with the opening of the new chapter, so without further ado...here it is! It’s just a copy-paste of his stuff, only that I reformatted it a little and edited some parts to make it clearer ^^ Apologies if this is a bad opening!))

((Hello, members new and old, and welcome to the SOD role play! If you’re already familiar with this role play and had prior participation with it, go ahead and jump right in! New members, please read on first!

New Members:
Welcome once again to the SOD RP (role play) Thread! If you have roleplay experience, I apologise but I must explain it for those who don't. A roleplay is basically when the participants each in turn write a short (or long) paragraph, involving their character and what goes off around them. So far the RP has been through Wars, Kidnappings and other happenings that has moulded our characters into what they are now. Also, up until recently for this Chapter and possibly Chapter 10, very little in the RP is planned. If you wish to push the story, you’ll have to be the ones creating the scenarios!

Character Creation:
This process is fairly simple!  Your character can be your character from the game, a somewhat altered version of your in-game characters, or a completely new one. To create a character, please proceed to the character profiles thread in the Great Hall, “The SOD RP Character creation/Check in”.

You may roleplay more than one character if you wish, but only if you think you can handle it!

ROLEPLAY RULES:

1) Be realistic (as much as you can with dragons/HTTYD-realm in general)

2) No dragons such as a Sea Giganticus Maximus or Night Furies

3) As you write, you may include the speech and movement of other player-owned characters as long as it fits the personality of the character(s), and with their explicit permission!!

4) If you type something not related to the story (OOC), remember to put in double brackets before and after it so we know it's not RP-related.

5) In a tie-in with the first rule, please be reminded that your character is HUMAN - they are NOT invincible, infallible etc. Most would understand this to be something called "godmodding".

Anyone may join at anytime - there are plenty of students training at the school.))

((Well that's everything I think? See you in the RP!))

A few days had passed since the gathering-turned-recruitment in the School Hall. The news of the expedition had spread far and wide rather quickly, with many Vikings protesting the Headmaster’s decision to allow young students on such a dangerous trip. But with proper reasoning, especially one that included mention of the old archivist and the storm, the older Vikings relented.

While the volunteers spent most of their time gathering materials they would need for the trip, Stoick and Gobber aided in the preparations by loading supplies onto the ship hand-picked by the Chief himself, even going to the extent of ensuring that the vessel was in the best condition possible – he didn’t want a repeat of the last boat a certain band of students had been on.

When the day of the send-off came, the reluctance of the village to let go of the youngsters on such a precarious journey could be seen by the speed of which they were gathering at the docks – slow. Uneasy murmurings had rippled throughout the village in those few days, and the soon-to-be travellers sometimes felt particularly vexed whenever they caught wind of the words. Final preparations were being made, and Gobber was overlooking them.

“Ah, tha’ crate o’er there should go ‘ere, ye buzzard brains! Doncha know where to put ‘em?” he hollered at a group of the Vikings while ambling towards them, waving his mace-head hand attachment. He looked ready to clobber some heads when he could.

Aylen smirked to herself as she briefly watched the broad-shouldered blacksmith chasing the helpers around, directing them where to place the supplies. She turned back to her work; several journals – empty ones included – important and relevant scrolls, charcoal pencils, quills with a bottle of ink…her spyglass which she managed to recover from the last trip…

She was surprised with the contents of her knapsack. Other than personal effects and rations, the necessary archiving materials had been packed, and not by her mother or herself. There was only one other person who could’ve done it – her brother.

But when she spotted the person in mind, she couldn’t help but shift her gaze elsewhere, withholding a huff. Jarret was off on the starboard side of the ship, arms folded in front of him and resting against the rails, his eyes looking out to the sea. He was still withdrawn from Aylen, and the expression he wore proved her assumption even further.

His Zippleback wasn’t too far from him, but unlike their rider, the heads were at least being sociable. Remico & Segno were happily gurgling at Southstorm, with the Nadder chirruping excitedly as he bobbed his head up and down. Huh, Southy’s pretty happy to meet Theo & Kestrel again.. If only Jarret and I could be like them.

A crowd was beginning to form and continue growing at the docks, and Aylen vaguely noted that the Gobber was no longer giving out instructions to load the ship. The vessel was ready; all that was left was for the arrival of the others to come aboard and they could depart. The problem would lie in the strained relationships between several of them, Jarret was one of the causes.

Also…when and why did he give a new set of names to his dragon? What happened while he was away?

“Ah, there ye are, ye lazy lot!” Gobber’s voice broke her train of thoughts, and she looked up to see that the others were coming down to the boarding area. “Don’t ye keep yer mates awaitin’ lads and lassies! They’ve been ‘ere since afore sunrise!”

Jarret’s voice was muffled, but Aylen could still hear him. “Let the bickering begin…”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

((The Gryfforson siblings are already on the ship, waiting for the others to board.

On we go, everyone! Let’s see where the adventure shall take us XD))

((Do NOT direct-reply to this post, as it may need to be edited.)

((Edited on 23 February 2014, 11:01 [GMT +8]. Due to my perception of recent replies, I added a fifth rule (which is more of a reminder to most of us), because my RP pet peeve has been worked up.))

and so it begins....

Metal walked towards the docks at a reasonably fast pace, Shadow flew above him in the sky just like Metal she hated the large crowds and wanted to stay as far away as possible, for Metal the crowd seemed to spilt infront of him as he walked, he clicked his tounge irritatedly at the attention he was reciving.

By the time the Wanderer reach the boat many had gathered to see it off and many more were surprised when Metal got on board, whisper's of obvious curse's for his death reached Metal, but he tried to ignore it and slung the one bag he was carrying into the corner of the boat, which rattled as it rolled.

Ignoring Jarret who still grabbed at his curiosity Metal gave a curt nod to Aylen before standing to one side while he also waited for the others, "The sooner we are out of here the better" he murrmered

((Woohoo! New chapter!

((Woohoo! New chapter! Alright I may as well get Thorin to the boat so we can start the party.))

Thorin slowly made his way down the dock towards the large long-boat, the air reeked of the smell of new timber garnished with the faint smell of pitch. Thorin could tell it was brand new even from a distance, most, if not all long-boats where brine and barnacle coated, or had scorch marks or missing wooden planks. This ship was the largest boat he had ever seen, two masts with elegantly painted sails of dragons and vikings. In the back of the boat there was a stairway that led below the decks, surrounding the ship stood many of the parents and village folk who bit their lips in anxiety.

Thorin slowly made his way down the old wooden dock to board the ship, the wood boards below his feet quietly squeaking as he walked. Seconds later he came to a stop at the edge of the boat, the ship slowly bobbing up and down in the calm waves. As soon as the ship came closest to the dock he stepped over the gap and onto the ship, with his two index fingers he loudly whistled two tones, the sound catching the attention of the stretched thin Gobber, “You're late, you know that Eh? Where are your bags, you cant go on this trip without your stuff” Gobber said as he hotly eyed Thorin “I have Them, can't you see?” “Don't get snarky wi-” Gobber cut off as Thorin motioned upwards, Bolt was perched at the top of the mast watching the two exchange words, “Ahh... Good man” with that the large blacksmith moved on to the next task at hand.

“Bolt get down from there” Thorin holler to the dragon, bolt shuffled his orientation on the mast and let off a refusing huff, Thorin shook his head “Bolt, off... Now” The dragon gave another huff and groaned as he slowly descended the large piece of timber. With the dragon firmly on the deck of the ship Thorin cut the rope that held his bags on to the dragon's hide the sound of metal crashing together radiated from within one of the bags.

Mudslide the Pessimistic

Days had passed since the group's initial gathering in the Great Hall and not a one of them had been entirely pleasent. There were the whispering amongst the adults that things could go horribly wrong to deal with for one. Then there was talking with her father over the matter, to which he'd been surprisingly open to the idea of his only daughter venturing out into the world and gaining some much needed experience. Having an overly protective bodyguard in the shape of a tempermental winged serpent likely played into the man's favors too. And while her father was still growing used to the beast, he had faith in the overgrown snarke's nature to watch over his daughter.

Truth be told, Mudslide was a worry-wart. She'd gone back and forth the past several days between crying over being seperated from the only place she'd called home to being as flighty as a skittish bobcat. She'd packed, unpacked, and repacked her supplies so many times it was rediculous. And all of that negative energy really wasn't helping Sharksneeze, who seemed far more irritable than his usual grumpy self. As a result, the pair hadn't socialized much in the past several days and Mudslide was practically avoiding eye contact from any living thing sans the young Whispering Death (which was admittably because he lacked pupils).

All of the doom and gloom looming overhead had put a serious downer on Mudslide's mood. Several times a day she found herself wanting to seek out Hammerstein or even his colossal twin brother Magnus to resign herself from this hairbrained adventure. Her self-doubt had skyrocketed nearly ten fold. She was a coward. She was indecisive. She was pathetic. She was weak-minded. The list goes on and on and not a single hour went by without Mudslide finding new things to tack onto the list of reasons for her not to go. Hearing several adults agreeing with her mindset really hadn't helped matters either. Even Sharksneeze seemed content to sit this one out, which was likely due to the fact that he wasn't a fan of not having any land nearby for any amount of time. It was the reason they usually flew between Berk and the school rather than took a boat since travel time was nearly cut in half.

To be completely honest, Mudslide wasn't even sure why she was going. Nobody had filled her in on any details and after the fiasco in the Great Hall, she was starting to feel like an unwelcomed guest. Nobody had paid her much mind and most gave her a wide girth when Sharksneeze started getting cranky. It definitely wasn't helping her low morale. But she had agreed to go on a whim and was now regretting it. What if she messed things up? What if she made someone mad? What if they got in trouble and decided she wasn't very dependable? What if something happened to Sharksneeze? What if, what if, what if, what if, what if! Mudslide was going insane with all of these hypothetical questions!

Mudslide hadn't slept much over the past several nights. Her bed was no longer welcoming and whenever she did manage to rest, her dreams were plagued with bad scenarioes. About the only way the brunette could rest had resulted in a new and bizarre habit that Sharksneeze was thankfully tolerant of. The Whispering Death liked to sleep underground in a massive crater he'd dug up right next to her father's farm. After going two nights of fitfull rest, Mudslide had gone outside late at night and fumbled her way down the hole. It was pitch black underground and the air was dank. It reeked of moist muck after a rainy day and the ventalation system created a faint howling noise that sent chills down her spine. It'd taken her nearly a hour to find the slumbering beast. He was curled around himself and immediately awoken to the sound her unsteady footsteps. At first he was tiffed that someone had invaded his sanctuary but he soon relaxed again upon realizing it was Mudslide. And after several minutes of silence and awkward adjustments, the petite Viking had settled amongst his dark coils, wrapped herself up in her blanket, propped her head up against his side, and promptly passed out. Sharksneeze hadn't completely understood what was going on, but he let the matter slide until his rider had a few fitful dreams. Still, she got more sleep than she had in the past 48 hours. And come the next night, the routine repeateded itself. By the third, Sharksneeze just carried her down there with him to save his rider the trouble.

On the morning of their departure, Mudslide had somehow slept in. She was quickly aroused by calls from her father at the mouth of the underground cavern, who already had her packs ready and a freshly oiled saddle for the pair. Frazzled and already feeling sick to her stomach, Mudslide begrudgely left the sanctity of Sharksneeze's tunnels to head toward the docks to join the group of adventurers. She'd gotten most of her crying done before they reached the docks, leaving her dark brown eyes red around the edges in a similar fashion to Sharksneeze's. After another heartfelt good-bye and several hugs, the pair descended down the planks that lead toward the docks. Mudslide was an older Viking teen, but she'd never really left home before. After a day at the School of Dragons, Mudslide always returned home to the same old roof over her head and her father's warm embrace. But now? Now it might be some time before she would feel his strong arms around her or hear his hospitable laugh after cracking a joke about his foul flatulence. It sent a chill down her spine and with every step she took to seperate them, her heart felt heavier.

By the time the odd pair had reached the docks, Mudslide looked so emtionally drained she might as well have not slept at all last night. Her satchel was filled with a change of clothes, a ratted out scarf, a floppy sun-bleached hat, her father's spare whetstone, a pair of mittens, cooking supplies such as spices and a small pan, a jar of roasted sunflower seeds, another jaw of jerky made of fish and lamb, a filled water-skin, a roll of bandages, a few silver coins, a brush made of deer antler, an old map with barely anything on it, fishing line, and her oak fishing rod that stuck out ot it like a elongated Nadder spine. Hidden amongst her things lay her favorite secret passtime; a nearly blank leather-bound notebook and three charcoal sticks. Valhalla forbid if anyone discovered her weird desire to write.

Her daggers, one black and the other ivory, hung on her left hip. They'd both been fashioned out of teeth that had fallen from Sharksneeze's gaping maw and were freshly sharpened coutesy of her father. One had been left its initial ivory color while the other had been dyed in an attempt to match the Whispering Death's dark coloration. Mudslide had never been a fan of weapons, but her father had insisted she at least have a handle on something should the need ever arise. Mudslide just sincerely hoped such an occasion never came to pass.

Sharksneeze slithered along behind her. His saddle had already been fastened on and hanging off of the right side of it was a sack of potatoes with a few small pumpkins mixed in. Another filled water-skin hung off of the opposite side along with a length of rope, a shield, and an empty sack should they decide to bring anything new home. The Whispering Death had been given a hearty breakfast to keep his hunger at bay for as long as possible. He hissed in the sunlight, already eager to return to his tunnels when they hadn't even reached the boats yet.

To make matters all the more strange, the pair had made a point of taking baths last night. Or at least Mudslide had. After fighting with Sharksneeze for two hours, she'd given up and let the reptile stink. Normally she wasn't one for bathing, but for the sake of the others on this trip, she cleaned herself up as best she could. It hadn't done her much good after spending the night underground though. She reeked of the musky earth and her nails were already brown from dirt. But her face was surprisingly still clean and her clothes weren't as filthy as usual.

As the pair descended, Mudslide gave pause one last time to look over her shoulder. Her father was where she'd left him and she could still spy the proud smile on his face. She mustered up the best imiatation she could before turning to face the boat they were docking.

Vikings of all sizes were milling about, listening to Gobber's robust orders and running around as if they were on fire. But Mudslide didn't marvel at their handiwork for long as her attention was drawn back to Sharksneeze. She was immensely grateful for the dragon's company on this trip. Doubtful they would have even asked her to come along if not for the bulldozing meat grinder at her side. Mudslide had a feeling they wanted the Whispering Death's tunneling abilities a heck of a lot more than they desired her accompaniment on this quest for some rune stone that might not even exist in the first place.

Great... Here comes her depression again.

Sharksneeze seemed to have a knack for picking up on it now and gently nosed her shoulder. The brunette was rooted on the spot however. She shook her head and closed her eyes, her hands tightly balling into fists at her sides as she tried to will herself forward. But her legs would not listen and no amount of mentally yelling at herself would urge her forward. She was scared. And now that the eve of their departure was upon her, Mudslide lost what little courage she'd managed to build up.

With a forced, deep breath and subsequent heavy exhale, Mudslide at least managed to force her eyes back open. Her burnished eyes locked onto the mast of the ship, which was adorned in typical Viking fashion of a wood carving of a dragon head. This one resembled a shrieking Nadder and did little to quell her growing doubts. Mudslide shifted from one foot to the other, debating on whether she should go through with this or not. She was disconnected from reality at the moment, ignoring all others around her including Sharksneeze who remained by her side. Her mind roved over the possiblities of what could possibly go wrong. Mudslide was a pessimist through and through it would seem.

As Elder made his way down

As Elder made his way down the dock he found himself whistling a little tune. His dragons were flying a few feet behind him, gazing at all the people watching. His arm had healed up rather nicely, although it wasn't quite in peak physical condition as he had thought (that was probably due to the table that Metal kicked into him a few days ago) but it would be by the time they got there. He was wearing his traditional bloodcloak and was holding a knapsack which contained a few supplies, some food for him and his dragons, a whetstone that he had borrowed from the school's smithy and, most importantly, the red-leather bound book that he had retrieved from the library before the trip. His sword hung loosely at his hip and his dagger sat strapped tight to his thigh.

When the ship was in his sight he couldn't help but let out a small gasp, it was huge. A lot bigger than he thought it would be, although given the amount of people and dragons that shouldn't have been a surprise. He and his dragons stopped at the sight of a short, brown haired girl stood staring at the boat. Is she on the expedition? She seems quite young... he laughed ...Look who's talking. He walked over but stopped as he saw the whispering death giving a disapproving hiss in his direction. So he stopped a few feet away but continued when he saw something in her eyes...fear. When he was near her he placed his hand on her shoulder, drawing another hiss from the dragon. "Hey, are you ok?" he said with a hint of sympathy.

Mudslide the Flustered

A bubble of dread began to build up within her stomach. It billowed up through her trachea and left a sour taste in her mouth. Mudslide felt the first few beads of sweat building up on her brow as it scrunched together. The perspiration was absorbed by her bangs, causing them to cling uncomfortably to her bleached forehead. Her palms were starting to feel clammy on top of that. As a result, her fingers clenched and unclenched several times as an absentminded movement. A hiss went off to her side, but Mudslide paid it no heed. Even Sharksneeze wasn't having much luck in garnering her wavering attention it seems.

Sharksneeze had spotted Elder as he approached his hesitant rider. His hackles started to rise as a sharp hiss echoed off of the inner walls of his gaping, teeth-lined jaws. He rose in his head and drew nearer to his rider even as the unknown male reached out and dared to touch Mudslide's shoulder. His hissing barely began to quell when he realized what the man was attempting to due, but his words were not ones he could comprehend. Indeed this adventure might be a learning trup for the fledgeling Whispering Death in understanding the Viking language outside of his rider's thick accent.

The physical contact from another human being startled Mudslide from her thoughts. Her eyes snapped open and she nearly jumped clean out of her skin while releasing a surprised yelp. Inadvertantly, the brunette took a single step away from the source of the contact, nearly bumping into Sharksneeze's exposed underbelly as a resilt. Mudslide jerked her head around to spot the man standing next to her with a look on his face akin to concern. The motion had enough momentum behind it to gently hit Sharksneeze with her long braid.

Instantly she felt shame rise up from the bile in her stomach at knowing someone spotted her insecurity. His question however, didn't speak of chastise or mockery. His tone sounded about as worried as he looked, which surprised the brunette somehow. Her cheeks flushed a faint pink in embarassment as she moved back to her previous position.

"I-I'am . . ." Mudslide started with a stutter in her voice. Quickly she shook her head, mentally telling herself to pull it together. When that didn't work, one hand reached behind her to locate Sharksneeze's cool, smooth underbelly scales as if to physically remind herself the dragon was still nearby. Just knowing the basilisk wasn't leaving her helped to calm her rapid heart. She closed eyes again, took a deep, steady breath, and slowly released it. Her shoulders began to droop from the effort as the tension began to visibly dissipate. When Mudslide opened her eyes again, see seemed noticeably calmer despite her previous nearing panic attack.

"I'am fine," she tried again with a little more confident this time. "S-sorry 'bout . . . that . . ." She was secretly hoping this matter would never come up again. Or that this man wouldn't speak of her insecurities to the others lest they lose whatever unknown confidence they had in her.

Sheepishly, Mudslide rubbed Sharksneeze's underbelly, quelling his sharp hisses for the time being. Still, he remained close to her and kept an eye on Elder. Quick to make amends for forget about this little fiasco, Mudslide ducked her head and adjusted the strap on her satchel. "'Er ya'll part 'o d'is a'vent'yer too?" Her accent really was getting the better of her it seems. There were times Mudslide really wished she didn't have it. Still, there were other times she was proud of it. It helped her stand out. It also made it obvious those who'd been around it longer as they had less trouble deciphering her bizarre lingo.

Time to go!

After finding a Nadder in his farm, he started to get attached to the vain thing, and was pleased to find out it was the dragon his family had sent. Even durinng the first day, it was following him around, but that probably because  of the fact that he was fishing and afterwards had the smell of fish on him. In any case, during the past week, they trained and did just about every task together, but he still worried about his sister and her relations with Thorin, but tried to focus on what needed to be done. The dragon, which he had nicknamed, Ivory, was now fully grown, and excited to fly.

~~~~~~~~~~~
During the week, Isabo's arm healed up, as she expected. Athough long and about 2 centimeters deep, the bones were still untouched, which made it heal faster.
In thier freetime, Bo would take Aroara out for flying practice with her brother and his dragon, surprisingly, all of her fears of flying seemed to dissolve. Even if Ivory was still just barely still in the Shortwing phase, it glided elegantly, and soon was able to fly. The day before the departure, the siblings flew freely in the sky, and Isabo felt so much safer in the sky with her brother flying with her... She didn't know why ((*cough cough* him saving her from her kidnapping *cough cough*)).
_-^^^^^_-_^^^^^-_
Alki and Ivory, along with Isabo and Aroara, walked towards the enormous ship. Alki chuckled as he watched Ivory click it's tongue excitedly while running towards the ship, hoping to board, this time, freely. The older Wolfblood sibling called back his dragon and said, "How about you walk onto that boat in style and let everyone- including dragon, be in awe of you?" The Dragon seemed to understand what he said, and quieted itself, puffed out it's chest, flared it's nostrils, and raised it's head high as it walked onto the ship, then stood there patiently as it waited for it's rider.
Alki was not far behind, but was scanning for familiar faces, subconsciously hoping to see Adaryn. ((Hahaha I can have fun too!)) After a few heartbeats of looking, he sighed and went to accompany his beast, who, to his dismay, was glaring at his sister's dragon, hearing Aroara's laugh.
Alki gave the dragon a low growl, silencing his Nadder's silent threat. Then, they looked at who had already arrived, and Alki tensed. He had hoped that Thorin had decided not to come; but alas, he was here, with his Skrill, Bolt!
The Nadder picked up on Alki's unease and looked to see what it was caused from. After firguring out which boarder it was, it gained immediate disliking towards the duo.
The rider and dragon stood together, looking like mirror images of eachother. Their not moving fire bright amber eyes, stock-still posture, and most of all, the anger and discomfort both emitted to all around them.
~~_~-~_~-~_~-~_~-~_~~
Aroara took a more unsure approach, and stuck close to Isabo, who comforted the Nadder. Isabo watched her brother's dragon enter the ship "in style" and was barely able to withhold her laughter, unlike her companion who cackled in laughter. As soon as Alki joined the beast, It turned and gave the other Nadder a vicous look, much to both riders's discomfort. When her brother silenced the Deadly Nadder, everything was fine again, and they clambered upon the ship.
Isabo outwardly groaned when her brother saw Thorin, she wasn't looking forward to the constant bickering. She did think it was funny how alike how Alki and Ivory looked though.
She decided to ignore both of them, and check to see who was here, her dragon all-too happy to follow.
The party don't start till I walk in
((This girl's all over the place. I just... she's a dork.))
((Also, what time of year does school start? If it's fall, it's going to be a very cold journey for these guys... I would suggest early spring, so these guys can survive going up north and the students can tend their farms during school and stay inside during the brutal winter.))
Adaryn's elation from the night she had volunteered for the expedition has lasted all of twelve hours. She was still excited, of course, but soon the waiting had grown longer, and Adaryn's patience had grown shorter. She'd never really realized how long planning these things took -- she envisioned a next-morning departure, but the reality was an almost week-long ordeal. Since she had pretty much finished preparing by the end of the first day, she spent the rest of the time preparing her farm for another year of crops -- she wasn't sure if she'd be back in time for planting, but she'd be reclaiming her sheep and chickens no matter what, so it was best to fix the place up. Weeding, hoeing, digging drainage ditches, repairing fences, and patching up thin spots on the house's sealant ((Is that what it's called? The mudlike stuff that goes between logs on a log cabin/whatever Adaryn has)) was no fun, but it took her mind off of her boredom, so Adaryn completed her tasks with what could pass as enthusiasm. In the evenings, she worked on extra-warm clothes and blankets that she planned to bring on the journey.
She also spent a lot of time agonizing over her letter to her parents. She couldn't decide what to say to them. They'd disapproved of her risk-taking and adventuring from the beginning. If they worried about her when she was on a mostly safe, relaxed, yearlong tour of the areas surrounding Berk, how would they react to the news of her departure on a dangerous journey to the far north? Even worse was the guilt. Adaryn's mother had made Adaryn promise to stay safe, but the girl had lasted all of maybe six hours back in the caldera before she volunteered herself for another expedition. Adaryn had tried to explain that it was just her nature to want to go out and experience everything, but all her attempts were in vain. Her parents had never traveled more ten miles away from their village in their entire lives. For them, happiness meant safety, and safety meant staying close to home.
The writing of the letter was put off until the morning of departure. She almost left without sending one, but eventually her guilt got the better of her -- after all, if something happened to her, she didn't want her parents to never know how their youngest daughter met her demise. So, at the last minute, she scribbled out a quick note and dropped it off at the Great Hall on her way down to the docks. Unfortunately, this made her rather late -- the preparations were complete, and many of the other students had already arrived.
Upon seeing the boat, Adaryn let out a deep sigh. As large and ornate as it was, it was still a boat, and for Adaryn, that meant seasickness. No pain, no gain, she reminded herself. Kalira extended her wings and hummed, excited to be off.
Adaryn waved to the people she knew (and some she didn't know -- Adaryn doesn't discriminate) and set down her pack. Well, packs. Kalira carried three bags, while Adaryn carried two. Gobber gave her the stinkeye as soon as he noticed her excess of luggage. "What've you got there that needs so many packs?" He exclaimed.
"Blankets!" Adaryn grinned. "I brought the blankets!" And, upon closer inspection, this proved to be true -- three out of the five bags were stuffed fit to burst with nothing but blankets. The fourth contained an assortment of coats, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and socks. The fifth and largest bag contained Adaryn's personal possessions -- several changes of clothes, as well as shoes, soap, a whale-tooth comb, dried herbs, biscuits, smoked salmon, a water-skin, salt other spices, a small copper kettle, some medical supplies, flint and steel, and an old and plain but well-kept dagger. Tucked in with all of this was the notebook that Adaryn had brought along with her on her travels of the previous year. It was only halfway filled due to her aversion to writing more than she had to, but she intended on adding to it on this journey. The map she had used was also folded inside the notebook.
"Did yeh bring blankets fer the whole crew?" Gobber said incredulously.
Adaryn nodded. "Yup! And coats and things in case anyone forgot them. It's supposed to get cold." She looked at Gobber as if just noticing his confusion. "Is that alright? I have a lot of clothes at my house so I figured I'd put them to good use."
Gobber nodded mutely.
"I guess I'll just put them belowdecks, then," Adaryn continued. Gobber still said nothing.
"That's a lot of blankets," he muttered finally, and limped off to chastise some other poor Viking. Adaryn shrugged and began the task of lugging the heavy sacks onto the boat.
((Well, that was weird. Adaryn has a LOT of blankets. Who knew? At least nobody on the boat will be cold! Please don't direct reply because I might want to edit later))
Oh, hello Adaryn~
Alki turned his head to see who had just arrived, and looked at his reptilian companion said with a smile, "C'mon, I want to introduce you to someone. I'm sure she would like to see you too." It took a few minutes of negotiation to get the Nadder to abandon death-glaring at Thorin. Then, he turned and strode over to Adaryn, and said happily, "You need a little help there? With all those- Er- Blankets?" He heard Gobber in the background mutter " 'least someon' else t'inks it's strange.." Alki held in his laugh at the older viking's comment, and said kindly, "Don't mind him, do you still need help carrying that load?" He blinked curiously.
=_=_=_
Ivory gave one final huff, then followed Alki to a female of his species, and wondered why she was so special compared to all the other females that inhabited the place (school). The Nadder came to the conclusion ((*Drumroll*)) that they must be mates. That was the only logical answer to Ivory. The Nadder wanted to understand Alki's choice and decided to investigate the female. It circled around her, looking at every aspect of the human. Eventually, the dragon returned back to Alki's side and then turned to the newly identified female's Monsterous Nightmare, and examined her as well, tilting it's head this way and that.
_=.=.=.=_
Alki watched his dragon scurry around, this way then that, around Adaryn. The dragon seemed curious, but for what reason? He was even more confused when the Nadder returned to him, then scanned over Adaryn's dragon Kalira. He shook his head, but was smiling, he really did miss the strange antics of dragons over the years.
BLANKETS
((Ivory's assumption made me squeal out loud!!))
At the first sight of Alki, any lingering doubts that Adaryn had about going on the quest evaporated. She hadn't seen him for several days, and Adaryn suddenly realized that she'd missed the librarian.
Adaryn stuck out her tongue good-naturedly at Gobber and laughed. "He's right, it's a little strange. I don't even know why I have so many blankets. These aren't even all of them. I left my best ones at home -- don't want to ruin them!" She smiled warmly at Alki. "And yes, some help would be greatly appreciated. I'd make Kalira do it, but she can't fit belowdecks." Adaryn elbowed the Nightmare's scaly neck and looked up to see her response, but Kalira was busy looking at something else. "Oh! Is that your new dragon?" Adaryn froze as the Nadder circled her. Kalira watched the new arrival with great interest.
((Maybe we need to investigate the source of Adaryn's blankets. Each pack probably has four or five blankets apiece, and with three packs that makes between 20 and 25 total... that's a lot of wool! And if they were made by Adaryn over the course of the 2 or 3 years she attended the school before her trip, minus the ones she sold (probably a majority)... I feel sorry for Phlegma -- she's probably had to look after 30+ sheep for Adaryn for a whole year! Blanket math! Is it obvious that I really didn't think about the number of blankets before I wrote it? Yes? Okay. Also, I don't know how many fleeces go into the production of one woolen blanket. I didn't know roleplay could be so complicated!))
((Anyone else envisioning Adaryn wailing, "my blankets!" as the ship sinks, like the cabbage guy from Avatar the Last Airbender? 'Cause I sure am))
Want research?
((Need I mention, again, my hours of calculations and research just to make sure I got the cooling time correct for Shadow Wing's wing brace? Lol.
Lessee... Average fleece weight in the US is 8.2 lbs per sheep per year, but some can make up to 30 lbs/sheep/year. For nice, big, Viking sheep, I'd estimate maybe 15 lbs/sheep/year.
Need about 1500 yards of wool yarn to make a large, bulky afgan, so about the same amount for a typical blanket.
I'd say double it, 3000 yards, cause they need to be nice and thick and insulated. Could even go so far to say that some might require 4500 or even 9000 yards, but anyways.
Supposedly for bulky yarn, at 10 wraps per inch, makes about 38-50 yards of yarn per ounce. Average that to about 45, I think.
15 lbs equals 240 oz. 240 x 45 = 10,800 yards per sheep per year. Now, given the time we're rp'ing in, making accounts for mistakes and such, just say 10,000 yards/sheep/year.
So.
A single sheep could make 6 bulky afgans, or 3 nice blankets, each year from my calculations. Let's say, 3 blankets. 24 blankets would mean: 1 sheep and 8 years, 2 sheep and 4 years, 3 sheep and 3 years, 4, 5, 6 or 7 sheep and 2 years, 8 sheep and 1 year.  So..... yeah. Not too bad. If you had 8 sheep you could make 24 blankets a year, if that was all you made. But likely, you would make a variety of stuff so only one or two blankets a year, realistically, which is actually quite productive.
These would, of course, accumulate as you mentioned, but since nothing is ever thrown away until it's simply rags and thread, well. No need for 30 sheep XD Just the average number of 8))
Shadowclaw to the rescue!!
((It seems I guesstimated too high on the amount of wool needed for a blanket and too low on the amount of wool a sheep produces. Thank you for clearing that up! Adaryn's many blankets are more justified now XD I'm going to say that she has around twelve sheep so she can make 24+ blankets every year, along with hats and scarves and clothes for herself and so on. And if she went to school for three years, that would give her enough time to make all those blankets while selling around 2/3 of them (she's a pretty good weaver/knitter/whatever so her blankets are probably fairly valuable). Of course, there's always the question of how long it would take Adaryn to make all those blankets! I tried to find how long it takes to make a blanket from start to finish, but all I could find was how long it took to make a quilt, so I guesstimated again! It probably would take a solid week to turn all that wool into yarn (with cleaning, combing, spinning, etc.), and then probably a week and a half to make each blanket (if she only spends a few hours on it every day). That gives her plenty of time to make 24 blankets in a year, with some hats and gloves and socks and so on thrown in for some variety. I just had a thought: cloaks would probably be more useful. Whoops...))
((Actually... lessee... this is mostly my own experience and memory of past research, mind you, but...
If you sheared all 12 sheep it would take a good portion of the day. A couple hours at the least. Then you would have to carry allllll that wool to wherever you're working. After a quick lunch break, comes the first step in cleaning - picking out larger bits. Twigs, grass...excrememt. Anything large that can be picked off beforehand, is.
After that, comes the multi-cycle washing. Likely this would be saved for the next day, cause it can take a whole day to finish. It requires a series of buckets with decreasing amounts of soap until the last two or three are just water. The batches of wool go through until they're clean.
Next day, after the wool is clean and dry, you have to card it. Brushing it so that all the fibers are aligned in one direction. This would also take up a full day, given the fact that there are other chores to be done as well.
Next comes the spinning. You take the carded wool, now called roving, and in measured amounts put it through the spinning wheel and it turns into yarn~ Spinning is oddly very fun and relaxing.
After that, you have your yarn! Woohoo!
So, then you can choose to weave, knit, or crochet the blanket. Crochet takes more yarn, more time, and while a fine choice is likely not something the Vikings would use. Knitting is a good choice, especially since there is no large equipment to bother with. Weaving provides a more uniform surface, however, and it's easier to make patterns.
So yeah, given the need of other chores, classes, etc, the wool to yarn process would take about a week. The yarn to blanket process could take up to a month, depending on jow much time is spent on the project.
Ugggh Titles -_-
((Haha. If only Ivory could talk, the look on our characters's faces!))
Alki nodded while grabbing a heap of blankets, his voice muffled at certain points, "Yea, turns out, it escaped from the ship when they were unloading the ship, and somehow made it's way to my farm. In the morning I found 'em in my fish stores with ivory scattered everywhere. I took 'em to the Great Hall to return the beast to it's owner, but found out that it was the dragon my family had sent me. I've nicknamed the monster Ivory becuase of the fixation it has with it. To my surprise, it was nicknamed 'Chief Ivory' from the crew because it kept tryin' to get to the ivory on the ship." Alki looked at Ivory, who was trying to follow him below deck, but was too big and was now letting out angry cries of indignation. Alki sighed and said, "I'll catch up to you, just gotta calm down my ornery dragon.."
He walked back on to the deck, and the dragon immediately stopped shrieking, but blocked it's rider from going back down. Alki sighed again, "I can't leave you for a minute? I'll be right back, I promise." The Nadder didn't budge. "C'mon Ivory, don't you trust me?" The dragon lowered it's head, and slowly moved to the side. Alki looked at the dragon and smiled, "That's a good dragon, I'll be right back."
Then the rider went back down, and soon caught up to Adaryn, "So, what have you been doing over the past week, might I ask?"
=_=_=_
Ivory turned away from the hole that it's person and his mate disappeared down. It decided to play with the female's dragon. It waddled over to Kalira, and flapped it's wings, clicking playfully. It grabbed the leather ball from Alki's satchel he keeps on her saddle, and rolled it to the other dragon, asking it to play.
((Apologies for my previous
((Apologies for my previous post, It was hastily written at the end of my lunch period))
Thorin slowly knelt down to retrieve the burlap bags from the deck of the ship, the contents quietly shuffling inside the sacks as he slung both of them over his shoulders. Thorin looked up from his downward gaze and looked around the boat, there where still people missing, so for the time being they where stuck in port while they waited. The noise seemed to hidedown for a second but in that time there was a discernible sound of feet making contract with the wooden deck. Thorin's eyes darted to where the board had been placed to connect the ship to the dock, by that time two figures stood staring at Thorin and his dragon.
It was Alki and stunningly white Nadder, their eyes fixated on the Thorin and his companion, the Nadder seemed to shift it's self into an aggressive posture. Bolt did not take well to the dragons threats and started to bear his teeth along with emit a faint growl. Bolt's body started to quietly crackle with energy as the Nadder continued to stare, its rider trying to divert its attention to something else. The sound seemed to get louder the longer the dragon stared, Bolt had enough and took a step forward towards the other dragon, Thorin's hand shot out almost instinctively to sooth the agitated Skrill, as soon as his skin made contact with the dragon's scales a painful jolt ran through his arm and down his legs. Thorin jumped a little and let out a small yelp with the sudden pain, Bolt, hearing his riders yelp halted and gave Thorin a worried look.
By the time Thorin looked back at Alki and his new dragon, they had already moved on to talking to a girl Thorin's age. Thorin ran his hand through his short brown hair to flip it up at the front and turned towards the stairway down into the belly of the ship, only to take one last look at the girl that Alki was talking to. ((Thorin, like myself, is a preener, so he likes to have his hair in a certain way and will fix it if it gets messed up)) Thorin adjusted the bags on his shoulders and walked down the narrow stairs into the hull of the boat, Bolt slowly trailing him to keep in between him and that vile dragon. The viking slowly and carefully made his way down the stairs, each step sounding like thunder under the sheer amount of weight that he was carrying. Bolt eyed the entryway and attempted to follow his rider to protect him. Thorin suddenly jolted back around and almost falling over when he heard a muffled thud, to his surprise the Skrill had it's broad shoulders stuck in the wooden frame, it took a minute of squirming to free himself from the wooden clutches of the frame, but when he did the Dragon let out a long sigh-like groan and shuffled away from the entry.
Thorin entered the boat's interior, Inside there was a massive room with a low lying celing that thorin nearly smacked his head on. In the room there where many hammocks strung from wooden pillars at each of the sides, finding a hammock close to the ground Thorin slid his two burlap bags under the hanging mesh cloth.
After getting himself set up he exited the room and came face to face with Alki and the other girl, Thorin quickly eyed Alki, his facial features seemed to harden as Thorin peered at him. After quickly assessing the situation Thorin awkwardly passed the two to head back up to the deck of the boat, the sun nearly blinding him as he walked into the open air.
((Phew that was a longer one xD))
Oh hai Thorin!
((Fancy meeting you here XD
Also, I could see Thorin and Alki doing the same thing as Astrid and Snotlout in "A Tale of Two Dragons" from the show. Hahaha
Also, I'm really starting to love Ivory, that little rascal!))
Alki did his best to ignore Thorin but tensed when he joined Adaryn and himself. He slowly relaxed as the other male left. He wasn't worried about his dragon but he was at the same time. Not becuase of Thorin; but what worried him was his dragon, and Alki knew that his headstrong Nadder wouldn't back down from a fight if it came to it. He returned his attention to blanket girl, and curiously waited for her answer.
=_=_=_
Ivory saw the Skrill, not remembering who was it's rider ((go figure, right?)) and was offended that it seemed to already have a dislike towards him. Before it could confront the other dragon, Thorin appeared out of the tunnel, and the dragon greeted him. Ivory suddenly remembered the dragon, but didn't hate him like Bolt had done to Ivory. Instead, Ivory just hated Thorin, and the Skrill could have been just any other dragon in his book.
The Nadder's tail started thrashing dangerously. If that's how the other dragon felt, let it be mutual. ((*Epic battle music plays*))
~~~~~~~

Isabo had mentally recorded who was already on board, and put away her and Alki's belongings, then came back to the surface to see this! Really? They hadn't even left the school and already there was conflict. "Great." She muttered as she watched the scene unfold, her own dragon starting to get agressive. Isabo calmed Aroara before the dragon could make the fight surface They both looked fearfully at the two dragons, who, she might add, had just met and were already at eachother's throats.

Problem...?

((Um, I think we may need to rethink this ship. It would likely be a longship, like the Gokstad (though possibly a little bigger but with similar dimensions). So, the interior likely needs to be a bit redone. Unless you're using references, Baricuda? In which case, I'd be very interested to see them.))

Inna watched the students

Inna watched the students crowding ((lol, is that even a word?)) around and both Blackaik sisters stepped in the ship. She told Ismey.

"Did you take everything you needed? And do you remember all that we were taught about travelling in north?" Inna asked her sister feeling a little stressed out or this. "And uhm, try to be nicer from now on..."

---

Ismey gave Inna a cold glare. "I've been nice for all my life. Besides, I am just expressing my opinion." She hissed.

"Well, try to have a different opinion next time." Her sister answered. "I just hope that I won't have to appologise around to people. It's gotten so far people even compare you to me."

His hand on the girl's

His hand on the girl's shoulder made her jump out of her skin and quickly turn to face him. Her whispering death continued to hiss at him but he ignored it as he watched the girl compose herself. She seemed to draw comfort from her dragon which, given the look of the dragon, seemed strange. "I'am fine. S-sorry 'bout...that..." She still looked shaken up but before Elder could say anything she changed the conversation. "'Er ya'll part 'o d'is a'vent'yer too?" The thick accent that she spoke with took Elder by surprise and, to his shame, he hesitated for a few seconds trying to figure out what was said. "Yes i am" he held out his hand to her "I'm Elder"

Sort out...?

((Yeah, I have very little knowledge on Viking ships, so I leave it to "the research team" to sort that one out for the sake of accuracy ^^; ))

She wasn't wrong in predicting that the journey would begin with tension. Almost everyone who came aboard the ship passed a glare at someone or another. Well, except Metal. Metal was the first to board, and he didn't really do or say much to the pair; in fact, he had completely ignored Jarret, who sported a knee-length overcoat this time.

"The weather's not even that cold.." Aylen murmured, more to herself.

"It will be; just wait and see," Jarret apparently heard the comment. Straightening up, he continued in a rather normal tone, "You think anyone would bring warm items for all of us?"

The question didn't strike Aylen as odd. Rather, it felt like a small joke that Jarret was trying to bring across to her. Hm? Was her brother trying to nullify the negativity between them? Somehow, it seemed so, but the archivist wasn't ready to warm up to her brother still.

It wasn't long before the others stepped onto the deck. The one named Thorin came after Metal, and the one of the first things he did was command his Skrill to descend from the main mast, to which said dragon did so with a groan. Having a Skrill onboard...it felt like a privilege yet dreadful to be so close to one. The last time Berk had to deal with a Skrill, Hiccup had to keep the danger away but flash-freezing the beast. And now, here was a tamed Skrill. Aylen wondered if she could do something for the archives, with Thorin's help.

If having a Skrill on the ship wasn't fascinating, dangerous or just odd, then there was the addition of a Whispering Death. Equally as feared, Mudslide's unique companion had, so far, been a grouch towards most of them, but the girl explained that he was just being a "protective grump". It sufficed, but there was curiosity if the tunneling serpent could last that long away from earth.

Aylen was surprised to see the librarian being accompanied by a dragon of his own besides his sister. A beautiful white Nadder that started being aggressive towards the Skrill, which glared the Nadder down levelly. Oh great. Bristling between humans...and now the dragons? This wasn't going to be to go well.

"Hey, Southstorm," she called to her Nadder. "Why don't you go greet the new one?"

She was referring to the white Nadder, of course. She wanted to distract the dragons a little for now. A bit upset that he had to be away from his playmate from Tinytooth days, Southstorm turned and waddled over to Alki's dragon, and he was instantly chirping in curiosity and excitement. Perhaps the white Nadder somewhat reminded him of Park, Skips's own Nadder; no one had seen the Home Repair Viking since their return, mainly because she spent her time recovering at home.

Then came the girl named Adaryn... Her little antics caused the archivist to cover her mouth with a hand, trying to hide the smile that worked its way to her face. The girl had packed blankets and extra clothes for everyone, and Gobber was dumbfounded with it.

Jarret noticed the matter on the blankets too, and his expression immediately signalled 'I stand corrected'. He didn't really move that much either, but he did a small wave to his dragon. "Go ahead and make some friends. You're the only two-headed lizard amongst all of them, I realise."

The Zippleback stared at each other, then at the various dragons that had boarded the deck. The dragons on board were the common species found in the village, other than the Skrill and Whispering Death. Although their own kind was found on Berk, the two heads realised that their rider spoke the truth - they were the only Zippleback in the group.

Gurgling sulkily, the two-headed dragon hopped over to join the others. They realised just as quickly that it almost seemed a brawl was about to break out between the white Nadder and the Skrill, and they knew it wouldn't be good if it happened. Segno ((the spark-head)) lowered his head to greet the Skrill, being careful not to get too close as to constitute an invasion of space. He tried coaxing the electric dragon elsewhere, even going to the extent of making the trademark sparking noise with his long teeth.

Meanwhile, Aylen was making a check on the crew. "Not everyone's here...Where's Briarwolf? And the Twins? They don't normally take this long..."

((Funny how the dragons I control are neutral and trying to cool things down, whereas their riders are like...glaring at each other if they could XD))

Ivory's attention span...

((Oh, how I wish you were real you adorable, dangerous, creature. I swear he's a (human) five year old.))

Ivory's eyes grew big as he saw the other Nadder and he forgot what he was doing just seconds ago. He bobbed his head and raced around Southstorm, almost tripping over the other Nadder's tail, curious and excited. When he finished inspecting this newcomer, he stood in front of the other Nadder and opened his wings, standing as tall as he could, in a playful manner. Bobbing his head and clicking his tongue, he waited for the other of his species to join.

~~~~~~
Isabo smiled and shook her head watching the group of dragons, "I wonder how long this will last, definitely not for the whole trip." She looked over at her anxious dragon companion, who was watching the other dragons, and said, "Go ahead."
The dragon looked at her, unsure, emiting a fearful note.
Isabo shook her head, "You'll be fine. I'm right here. Go have fun." She smiled as her dragon was with the other Nadders in the blink of an eye, chirping happily.
((So, call this whatever you
((So, call this whatever you want, but I'd like my character to "grow" in each chapter, in experience. So this chapter, Inna should become a bit more responsible, Ismey should become a little less responsible. And the rest I'll keep to myself. Anyways, Rosethorn, and Frozentear haven't been introducted yet, so here go!))
Rosethorn watched the dragons around communicating. The young nadder hadn't ever had a real contact with the other dragons, the thing they did was usually share a look and then walk by to they're own business. Surely she had gotten into a few fights with the other dragons but that's it. She had played with Inna as a baby, but now even her beloved owner payed more attention on anything, besides Rosethorn. Hiccup had told her to care for her dragon more, but all Inna did, was shook her head and "Later!". But she never did. It was bothering the nadder.
Morely, Rosethorn didn't knew how to comunicate with other dragons besides fighting. And because of that, she rarely contacted with any other dragons, because of her short temper. She glanced at Frozentear near her, who seemed like an ice statue with her scale colour and the cold behaviour. As Rosethorn remembered Fishlegs say: "I think that the dragon is taking the characteristics of it's owner!".
She looked around to see any dragon around that seemed like letting her get near. The nadder took a deep breath and hoped she'd not get this wrong. Rosethorn went to a random direction and heard Inna's voice:
"Rose? Where are you going?"
Rosethorn looked back and did her hiss-like sound. "Oh, well that didn't help. Anyways, you go, just don't make any mess, okay?" Inna said. It slightly saddened Thorn, as in the last day's, Inna hadn't cared as much as she should od her dragon, but Rose went on.
A group of dragons were standing in the one side of the ship. There we're nadders, and a zippleback ((and dragons that I forgot to mention)) so she decided to join in. Rosethorn came by and looked around. She felt somehow different now that there were other dragons around. Much more alive.
((Oh, I was listening "To Feel Alive" while writting and I have a need Rosethorn's theme song. And you don't get why, but she has a veeery horrible past, and I know it, so I understand her! x3 (And don't attack me for having a different music taste than you, I like depressing songs at times! x3) ))
The Dragons Have Their Fun
((Looks like the dragons are having much more fun than their trainers XD Short post in-bound.))
The white Nadder was suddenly so excited when Southstorm came over. Before Southstorm knew it, his new friend was running circles around him, as if inspecting him up and down. At one point, the blue-green Nadder felt his tail move on its own, and he realised with amusement that the younger ((I assume Ivory is younger)) dragon actually almost tripped and fell over his low-lying tail.
Exchanging his amused glance with Remico & Segno, who had successfully calmed the Skrill by themselves, Southstorm couldn't help feeling fuzzy inside when the white Nadder stopped ahead of him. Clearly elated, the Nadder stood to his full height, even stretching a little, while spreading his wings in a rather playful manner. The bobbing of the head and clicking of tongue invited Southstorm to join in, and Southstorm felt obliged to.
It didn't end there, for another Nadder joined in, chirping happily. And soon afterwards, another shy-looking Nadder came to join them. As soon as she did, however, her features seem to perk, and her hide colours brightened. It wasn't long before the small gathering of four Nadders, all chirping and gurgling happily.
Southstorm was curious with how excitable these dragons were. It seemed as if they never got to experience fun, or being together with other dragons. Maybe his rider could tell him something about it when she gets to it. But for now, he'll play with the cheery Nadders.
((Comedic part:
"Eh...Southstorm...You're unbalancing the boat...AAAAAAnd everything's sliding..." Aylen muttered, sweatdropping as the ship tilted one side, herself sliding and eventually falling off the side.))
((Omg, writing this made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. DANG IT. Oh yeah, is Shadow Wing still flying over the ship, Rock? Or is she, like, resting on the mast or something? I just realised we have A LOT of Nadders onboard XD))
Nadders Though
((Ivory just is crazy, and yeah he is younger than Southstorm
Also, having that many Nadders is like in the game though! They're everywhere! [not that it's a bad thing >.>]
Anyways, Ivory is going to bring the party!
Also, I can't wait 'til Ivory and Stormfalcon meet!))
=_=_=_
Ivory clicked his tongue in welcomed the other Nadders, recognizing Aroara. He did a little dance around them, but stopped in mid-way, something else catching his attention. The stunning white dragon streaked over to a different Nadder that was standing ridgedly off to the side, who he thought was lonely.
He fully approached Frozentear very carefully, tilting his head this way and that, and blinked rapidly in greeting. He chirped happily, inviting the last dragon (that he was aware of) to play. He was trying his best not to do something rash, and make the other dragon angry. He liked being around friendly dragons over, well, 'Bolt'. He shook his head and awaited Frozentear's responce.
~=~=~=~
Aroara watched Ivory go off and explore, a worryful light in her eyes. She had grown to care for Ivory as a little brother, and was extremely watchful over him, even if he sometimes was a nuisance. She also knew that the little fledgling at heart wouldn't grow up unless he experienced everything ((Aroara, better at raising it's own kind than Alki XD)), rejection being one of then.
Not that he was going to be rejected, but rather, it was a distinct possibility and would happen some other time if not today. 'This trip will definitely change the bright eyed Nadder... Most likely not for the best'
The dark silver Nadder looked away from Ivory, trying to qwell the dark thoughts growing in her mind. They slowly grew less and less as she played with the others.
((I have one question. How did Aroara get so wise?!?! Tell me your secrets about life... Oh wait- all of that just appeared from the depths of my mind... Oops.))
Ahh! *races to catch up*
((You guys are fast!! I checked the roleplay before going to bed and got right back on just after noon, and there were like 20 more posts!! I'M MISSING THE DRAGON POWOW NOOOO))
After the task of ferrying Adaryn's various packs down belowdecks had been completed, Adaryn and Alki ended up on the deck again. "So, what have you been doing over the past week, might I ask?" The librarian queried.
"Oh, nothing much. I had to pack, of course. And I had to fix the farm up a bit, after a year of being away. I made some socks. Other than that..." Adaryn shrugged. "I caught up on sleep." She tensed up slightly when she noticed the confrontation between Bolt and Ivory, and when it was over she continued to watch the Skrill warily. "What did you do over the week?" She asked, turning her attention back to Alki.
~~~~

Kalira watched as more dragons joined her and Ivory on the deck, and soon found herself in the middle of a throng of Nadders. In sitting position, she towered over the birdlike dragons. Her deep contented humming contributed to the general racket the playing dragons were producing, but she didn't join in the fun, not yet. Like her rider, she was being especially wary of the Skrill. Her experience in the recent storm had made her lightning-shy, at least for the time being.

Finally, when a Zippleback seemed to have neutralized the threat, she relaxed, lowering onto all fours (or, rather, her back legs and her wings). Her smooth gait stood out in stark constast to the bobbing motion of the Nadders as she moved through the group, greeting each dragon.

((I tried to catch up as best I could, so some of this is from waaaay back. This is sorta what Adaryn was doing in the 20 or so posts I missed, I guess. Sorry if it's confusing))

Ahaha

((I've been in the middle of all of this, as you can probably tell. I bet half of those 20 posts are mine! XD))

Alki followed Adaryn back up to the dragon party. He smiled when he saw his engergetic Nadder, seemingly never still. He responded calmly, trying to keep up with Ivory's movements, "Oh, well I've been preparing as well, but I've been training Ivory in my free time, and so this is his first meeting with the other dragons since he has developed enough to fly."

He calmly watched Frozentear for the dragon's reation to Ivory, prepared to step in if there was any trouble, but willing to sit this one out if possible.

He quickly turned and looked at everyone else, dragons included, around him. He noticed Kalira in the midst of nadders, and nudged the girl standing next to him in the direction of the Monsterous Nightmare to show her the antics of the group of dragons. He ignored Bolt and Thorin altogether.

Then, he returned his attention to the playful white Nadder.

Adaryn makes a mess

"Ivory's looking great," Adaryn praised. "He's grown quickly!" Alki seemed to be focusing on Ivory's reaction to another Nadder, so Adaryn turned her attention to her own dragon. She smiled at Kalira, glad that the Nightmare was making friends. Her foot bumped against something, so she looked down to take a closer look. It was a leather ball, the one that Ivory had taken out of Alki's pack. Adaryn looked from the ball to Kalira, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Hey, Kalira!" she shouted. The dragon looked up, smoke trailing from her nostrils. "Heads up!"

The ball sailed through the air. Adaryn had meant to throw it to Kalira, but she had underestimated her strength -- it continued out over the water. "Oops," Adaryn muttered. "Wait, hold on, don't-"

Kalira took off, accidentally clipping one of the Nadders with her wing as she surged into the air. She caught the ball just feet from the water and soared upwards triumphantly, circling back towards her rider, where she let the ball fall about fifty feet above Adaryn. It was perfectly on target, and fell neatly into the girl's outstretched hands.

Now, this wouldn't have been a problem if it hadn't aroused the interest of every other dragon in the area (and there were many). "Game's over, guys," Adaryn called out. "We're not playing ball. Sorry." Still, a few dragons advanced on her, their eyes fixed on the toy. "Well, I can't play ball with all of you!" She cried in exasperation. Kalira landed beside her, ready to fetch the ball again. "Oh, brother," Adaryn sighed. "Not you too!" Soon a horde of dragons was clustered around her, wanting to play. Why do I do these things to myself, Adaryn thought mournfully.

((I hope it's ok that I sort of controlled other people's dragons in this. If your dragon wouldn't want to play ball for some reason, then just assume that they weren't part of the group at the end))

Uh-oh

((Mwahaha I got here before you Carot! [hope I didn't ruin it for you! ; -;]

Side note/question: Gonna start making a little fanfiction about Alki's past, but not sure where to post it [Great Hall or Fan Fiction?] since he's still an OC at the moment and not been actually created in-game... Ugh -_-))

Alki's good-natured laugh turned into a yelp when he was knocked over and trampled by a horde of winged beasts, all over a ball. Surprisingly, his own Nadder was not in the throng of dragons. Since he had a dragon like Ivory, he always kept an extra ball with him. He said happily, "I'll throw for this half-" he motioned towards the group sitting patiently in front of him, "you take the other." After speaking, he threw the ball and watched the reptiles give chase, scrambling over eachother to get the prize.

=_=_=_

Ivory was focused on coaxing Frozentear to join the fun but was desperate to join the party. It was his ball after all! He looked back and saw his rider also throwing the ball. The snow white Nadder grew jealous and angry, feeling like Alki was ignoring him, he gave a final huff, forgetting the mission he was on, and turned away from him and fled to Isabo, being the only human he knew and liked at the moment. When he reached her, he let out a low sad cry, and was relieved to find that she understood what he was feeling. It nestled it's head in her lap, letting out soft pain-filled cries.

____________

What hurts the most to anyone is to feel unloved and abandoned.

Dragons are no different...

____________

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isabo comforted the dragon, planning to give her brother a talking to when she calmed the fretful dragon and he was alone. Closing his sister out of his life was bad, but to his own dragon! Bo became very angry and sorry for Ivory for being in the same situation as her.
She closed her eyes, her body shaking with anger. Ivory let out a fear-filled note, so the girl calmed herself. She sighed and said kindly, "you wanna play some fetch, with me?"
The dragon excitedly raised it's head and chirped loudly pacing quickly back and forth in excitement as Isabo pulled out a slightly smaller ball and threw it and watched the excitable young Nadder give chase.
((Now, before you start blaming either party, [Akli for being an oblivious oaf, or Isabo and Ivory for being too sensitive and whiny] understand each party's situation. It's both sides fault!
Alki has had a lot on his mind, and had learned to naturally shut people out if they try to get too close to him, selfishly fearing that he would only get hurt. He is starting to open up to people more, [ex. Adaryn] but still blocks majority of people out. He also indirectly and subconsciously blocks them out if they remind him of a certain event in his youngin' years [ex. Isabo and Ivory] but still caring and wanting to protect them.
In any case, he is still partly to blame, but needs time to work his way out of safety net he had created for himself.
Now on to what's going on with Isabo and Ivory, each having seperate reasons, but similiar.
First, let me explain Isabo's side. Like she mentioned, Alki seemed to live in the Libary [shutting people out] and so she has barely spent any time with him the whole time she's been at the school [which I admit hasn't been long]. On top of that, something else I mentioned in one of my earliest posts was that she was/is pretty homesick, Alki being the closest thing to home that she had at the school; so she wanted to cling to him, but since he was so devoted to his work [more like his excuse], she got even more lonely and sad. She tried to fill his place by making friends [ex. Thorin], but like Thorin, he attempted to keep them out of her life [to keep her safe out of fear], like an non-wanted guard dog. This caused her to have to make a choice; live alone and sad, or try to make and keep friends but go against her brother. She chose the latter, but most of them didn't want to join the expedition. Even with her friends, she still misses her brother's company like when they were younger.
Also, she has a distinct dislike towards Adaryn, though not obvious. Whenever Ryn's around [Don't feel bad spirit, it's not your fault!], as Bo noted, Alki tends to forget his sister and focuses on the other female, without Adaryn even trying. [That wraps up this explaination!]
Finally, Ivory's turn! [[This one will be short]] Basically, Ivory has been spoiled with attention, and so, being ignored for awhile, feels utterly unloved and indirectly rejected [Aroara called it!]. Like I said before, he's a five year old human child mentally, and needs constant attention and monitoring...
Yeah, now I'm done... This took forever to write... T-T))
Actually, you only added on to what I planned XD
((Did anyone realise that the running around of dragons would make the ship rock from side-to-side? Hahahaha! Who's the one who gets seasick again? BE PREPAAAAAAAAAAAARED~~~
Just a comedy section :P))
Leather balls. Dragon toys. Excitable dragons.
Oh great.
"W-Wait, guys, what are you- GAH!" Aylen's attempt to get the others' attention was cut off when the playful Nadders all went to one side.
Without warning, the weight imbalance caused the ship to tilt to one end. Fear gripping her as memories rushed into her mind, Aylen held on tight to the rails, narrowly avoiding one lone crate that was sliding towards the unbalanced end. Heaving a sigh of relief but soon finding herself holding another breath, Aylen watched as the crate headed straight for her brother.
"Jarret!"
"Ugh, what now, Aylen?" he replied irritatedly as he turned towards her. His irritated expression turned to wide-eyed fear. "Odin's beard..."
He jumped over the crate just as it reached his spot, hearing the scrape of wood against wood as the square container continued its slide down to the heavy end, ending with a loud thud. Letting go a breath he didn't realise he was holding, Jarret slumped his shoulders in relief. He might have been comically squashed if his sister hadn't warned him.
"I'll throw for this half, you take the other!" the librarian's voice was clear, which caught the attention of the others.
Is that another ball? Jarret's eyes widened further if that was even possible; the dragons were running all over the deck, scrambling atop one another as they chased the prized toys. It was fun watching the flying reptiles enjoy themselves, but to almost get TRAMPLED by them was another story.
Nimbly dodging a Nadder's foot, he swiftly stood up, smiling in relief and triumph...only lose the smile as he felt his sense of balance go off. Wait, what?
"Guys, you're rocking the boat!" Jarret exclaimed, more from surprise than any anger. "WAGH!"
The resident archivist had lost her grip on the rails as the centre of gravity shifted hither and thither, and she found herself sliding all over the deck as messily as the scrambling dragons. She didn't move on her own accord for fear of having a repeat of the last boat trip; instead, she let gravity do its work on her...until he finally collided against something that stopped her sliding.
She sighed, relieved, and opened her eyes...
...only to find that she had collided straight into the librarian.
'...Well, this is awkward.'
Mudslide the Pessimistic
The man before her seemed to blanch on his response. Had she changed the conversation too quickly? In the silence that followed, Mudslide shifted her satchel once again. The nervous twitch went unnoticed by Sharksneeze who seemed to on the road to calming down once again since the newcomer hadn't hurt his rider upon touching her. Still, his hackles remained arched despite the lack of noise being emitted through his elongated throat.
Mudslide's burnished gaze was drawn toward the man's hand as it extended toward her in a familiar gesture of acquaint oneself to another. The brunette blinked before returning her gaze to him as he introduced himself. A sheepish, toothy smile gently pulled on her chapped lips, revealed the missing upper left canine amongst crooked choppers. She quickly pulled her hand away from the strap of her satchel and smacked her palm against the older boy's. She'd never been one for handshakes and hoped he wouldn't find her side-ways high-five bizarre.
"Name's Mudslide!" she chirped enthusiastically. In an attempt to amend her nervous behavior, the petite Viking gave the adolescent Whispering Death a gentle pat on his under scales. "D'is here is Sharksneeze!" The basilisk huffed in recognition of his name while continuing to scrutinize the man by the name of Elder. Still, his hackles began to short signs of relaxing. Something Mudslide greatly appreciated. If the dragon was calming down, then surely things were all right. And Elder was providing a marvelous distraction from her fears whether he was aware of it just yet or not.
Unfortunately, things have a way of coming back around to a head. There seemed to be some sort of dragon commotion going on board the ship and the mayhem drew Sharksneeze's attention. The young Whispering Death gave a gargled hiss, clearly unamused by whatever the racket was all about. This drew Mudslide's attention, her jerked her head up to look at him so fast she nearly gave herself whiplash. The brunette quirked and eyebrow before following the dragon's gaze, surprised to find he wasn't giving Elder the evil eye anymore. A crestfallen sigh escaped her lips as the dread from before continue to stew within her belly.
"'o man...," she muled under her breath. Sharksneeze instantly lowered his head, offering his chin toward her. It was a strange gesture, but it was one the petite Viking appreciated. Her right arm rose up to hook around the elongated onyx spike that stretched from the Whispering Death's chin. With her other hand, she reached up and scratched the hardened flesh just beneath the bottom row of exposed teeth. With a heavy sigh, Mudslide shook her head. "Guess we be'her get mov'n, huh?"
...Awkward...
The libarian regretted his action as soon as he had done it. He was tossed back and forth, but soon in his desperate state caught hold of the side of the boat. His moment of safety was halted as the Archivist was thrown against him, which in turn, utterly winded him. He looked at her, curious how she ended up over here. Then Alki closed his eyes and called out, "Ivory!" He was relieved when he heard the magnificent beast approach.
He opened his eyes as he clambered upon Ivory's back and had the Nadder hover just above the boat and said, "Hey, you want a free ride to your dragon?" He smiled mischievously and held out his hand.
=_=_=_
Ivory felt the boat move and instantly wanted it's rider's comfort. It was elated to hear Alki call him. Immediately ran to him. Though not understanding why he was told to hover, the white dragon did so in a heartbeat.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Isabo felt the ship start rocking side to side, and clung to the first thing she could grab, which, thankfully, was her own dragon. Aroara clicked her tongue and helped her trainer on her back, then flew above the ship, watching for stragglers..

((Well as long as we are

((Well as long as we are doing Dragon posts, I may as well jump in and have some fun))

Bolt was quick to catch eyes with the white Nadder again after his companion had descended into the dark underbelly of the ship, this time, the Nadder will learn a crucial lesson in life. In a deadlock staredown with the shimmering Nadder the skrill let out a loud hiss to announce it's seriousness to the dumb-found Nadder. In a dance-like fashion both parties started to slowly circle eachother, slowly spiralling inward, but before the two could do anymore a Zippleback worked it's way into their lines of sight. The skrill was quick to strafe to the side to gain the advantage of sight, but one of the two heads was just as quick to block the Nadder's figure from his sight. The skrill gave a quick huff towards the Zipples head, but instead of shooting a threat back to bolt, it started to gurgle at the Skrill, trying to stop a unnecessary fight. Bolt started to relax, the crackling emanating from his body started to subside as his 'Fluffed up' frill started to flatten back down. With another huff bolt departed the friendly Zippleback to go sulking by the edge of the ship

_-_-_-_-_-_

Thorin's eyes quickly adjusted to the brightness of daylight as he exited the stairwell, as soon as the blinding white light faded from his vision he was met with the unfolding mess, Nadders scrambling everywhere as they chased after a leather ball “Who's bad idea was this?” Thorin quietly muttered as the ball rolled off totheside of the boat, soon after dragons moving after it. Thorin started to feel the ground shifting, slowly angling towards the water as more and more dragons chased after the ball. The archivist girl let out a yelp as she lost her balance, only to catch herself on the rail.

_-_-_-_-_-_

Bolt watched as what he considered 'crazy dragons' shot across the deck after the ball, shifting the boat as they moved. Bolt spread his legs and wings further apart to keep him from slipping into the pile of 'crazy' dragons, while shifting his position, he swivelled his head to make sure that none of the other dragons where going to knock him down, but he soon became curious to a mysterious spot of light on the ground. The spot of light was coming from the archivist girl who was still holding on to the rail for support, the sun-light hitting a piece of metal on her to cast the bright spot on the wooden planks. The skrill fixed it's gaze on the patch of light, it was strangely moving around causing the serious dragon to drop his guard and chase the spot trying to decipher what it could be.

_-_-_-_-_-_

Thorin felt a little woozy as the ship reversed in its tilt to the other side, sending the ball rolling into the centre while the other dragons where in a tangled in mess, while trying to right themselves from toppling over. For a few solid seconds the ball laid still in the centre of the boat, Thorin took the opportunity to rid the boat of this dangerous situation, he broke out into a quick sprint as the dragons finally got themselves free. Thorin reached the ball just as dragons from all sides of him started to rush him, for a moment Thorin thought he was going to be crushed in a pile of dragons, but that thought left his mind as the ball left his hand and went sailing onto the docks followed by a flood of dragons after it.

_-_-_-_-_-_

Bolt vision started to focus in on the patch of brightness it was moving even more now, his movements became more erratic and hyper as the light jolted around the deck. There was a loud yelp as the archivist’s grip failed sending here and the spot of light barrelling into the librarian. The sudden light movement sent the skrill in to a blind sprint towards the group. There was a loud thud as bolt made contact with Alki and his dragon, Adaryn, and the archivist. Bolt opened his eyes and noticed that he was laying on top of a girl, the archivist. The skrill shot the girl a apologizing look matched with a large slimey lick to her face.

WHAT

((...Why are the dragons being adorable right now? OMG XD I'll get up a quick post, since we're still waiting for others.

Also...I just realised I made Aylen crash into Alki. I meant to make her crash into Elder, but then I realised AGAIN that he isn't on the boat yet. Derp.))

Everything became a blurry mess right after she collided into Alki. For one, he gave her a genuinely curious look, as if wondering how she went from one end of the boat to the other. Aylen could only offer a sheepish smile in explanation, and pulled herself together, clearing her throat as she stood on her own feet.

The librarian soon called his white Nadder, whose name she now knew to be Ivory, and the dragon was soon at their side, gurgling cheerily. Alki was soon astride the Nadder, who then lifted off into a small hover above the deck of the boat.

Alki offered a hand, smiling cheekily. "Hey, you want a free ride to your dragon?"

Giggling at the indignant squawk that came from Southstorm, Aylen reached out for Alki's hand, more than eager to experience his new companion's flight abilities. It'd feel nice to fly atop another dragon other than her own sometimes...

...unless the dragon was barrelling into you.

Without warning, Aylen found herself entangled together with Alki, Ivory and Adaryn. All of them wore confuzzled expressions as they stared at each other, trying to comprehend the new slew of events. Flat on her back, the archivist realised in no time that she was right beneath the Skrill. SKRILL.

~~~~~~~~~oOo~~~~~~~~~
At first, when his sister fell into the librarian, Jarret felt heat beginning to engulf him. He didn't know of what emotion, but he guessed it could be generalised as protectiveness. Uh. Typical "older brother" kind of emotion, it seemed. He'd probably be okay with that- it was an accident after all..
'Whoa, hey, buddy! What're you offering your hand to her for? Are you offering her a RIDE?' Jarret's thoughts were figuratively scrambled as he watched Alki stretch out a hand to Aylen. He saw Aylen giggle and reach out to take the offered hand. 'Aylen, you better not have the heart and eyes for him! Wait, actually you can, but...YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. OH COME ON I'M NOT MAKING SENSE TO MYSELF.'
If Aylen was falling for someone, Jarret wanted to make sure the person would take care of her well. And not break her heart. Or arm. Or leg. Or spine. Or snap off her head. Or lose some teeth. Or psychiatric trauma. Or nervous shock. What.
As he fell deeper and deeper into his convulated thoughts, he didn't notice the new set of antics until a loud thud and several groans recaptured his attention. When Jarret looked back up, he wasn't prepared to see what he saw. In fact, fear swarmed his body, and he paled.
There was a Skrill on his sister. There was an ELECTRIC SKRILL ON HIS SISTER. A FORMIDABLE Strike-class dragon ON HIS SISTER.
~~~~~~~~~oOo~~~~~~~~~

"I've never really seen a Skrill up close..." Aylen trailed off, staring deep into the dragon's eyes.

She didn't know what to do. The dragon was magnificent up close, but at the same time terrifying. What if the dragon growled? What if it somehow got agitated by her if she tried to move? What if it started charging up? The cumulated static would shock her from top to bottom!

Odin help me...!

And he did. The Skrill gave her a strange look, one similar to a look of apology. Before Aylen could say anything else, her face was attacked. Not by claws or teeth...but a slimy reptile tongue. The Skrill actually licked her face.

"...Oh."

((Bahahaha, Jarret being an overprotective brother for a moment! XD))

Wha-? Okay,I have a feeling I won't be able to keep up for long.

Frozentear saw the younger, white nadder next to him, inviting him along. The young dragon waited for a little while, and then went on his own. Frozentear didn't knew wheter to go or not, so he gave his owner a nervous look.

"Well, Frozen. I guess you'll go now. Just be- WOAH!" Ismey didn't finish her sentence as the boat slide to one side ((Lol, I didn't pay attention to which one)). Ismey nearly fell out of the boat, and it was good she didn't, because she didn't really know how to swim. Sweat dropped and she murmured. "Or maybe you could fly near them, up in the air. It will be a solution."

She said and Frozentear spread his wings, and flew to the direction of the first dragon he saw. Which happened to be a Skrill. Yes, a strike class dragon, but curiosity took the place, and he flew near the dragon, and the girl he had just licked.

Weird to do so, but hey! You must learn from the eldest dragons. So he licked the archivist as well and looked at her with huge, yellow eyes. He could hear Ismey facepalming, and coming to the direction he was at.

"Frozentear! You- what were you-!" But she couldn't finish the sentence as she was the next one to get her face licked. "Ewww, Frozentear! What the? Now come back so I can have my revenge!" Ismey gasped. The dragon just did a laugh-like sound, and looked at Alki with a look: "you shall be the next".

((That's it, for now. I just felt like I had to scribble something sweet up! ^_^))

Confrontation! Not!

((Don't worry Jarret, he's just being the oblivious person he is. He doesn't realize he's doing what might be called flirting... Jeez, those years being snuffed up in the Libary alone really didn't help him and his social knowledge...))

Alki was bewildered as he was barreled into by the Skrill, then saw Frozentear's look and grew uncomfortable. He felt Ivory bristle beside him, and he calmed the Nadder. He had figured out couldn't fly as well if it was having any sort of emotional problems.

He knew that the Archivist would like to play with the skrill, and rounded up her Nadder for her. It followed without question to where it's rider was flattened by the skrill, and said to to Aylen, "Here's your Nadder, no rush for you to get up though."

Then he decided to help calm the dragons down by herding them back to their owners. He clicked to Ivory to fly up to his sister and Aroara, the Nadder nodded and flew swiftly to where the trainer and dragon hovered, their nervousness getting to both Ivory and his rider.

Alki spoke kindly, but with a stern tone creeping in, "Hey, um- you wanna ((build a snowman? Sorry I had to, it fit to well.)) help me take the dragons back to thier owners? It would really help me out." He tried to give a comforting grin, but his own worry said otherwise and shone through as he looked at the dangerously rocking ship. Silence filled the air for a few nervous moments, but Isabo finally broke the silence and said with a smile, "Sure, Alki-uo(ooh)~" Alki was surprised by the old nickname, but smiled happily, flew over to her, messed up her hair and said, "Then it's a deal. Race you ther-" His dragon let out a 'sqwee' of excitement as it plumeted towards the ground and made him unable to finish the sentence.

To anyone watching, it appeared that Alki had lost control of his dragon and the pair was falling out of the sky to thier deaths, but, alas, that wasn't the case. Ivory knew exactly what he was doing, and instinctively stopped right before they crashed and Ivory made a big show of it and his large wings by opening them at the last second as he landed gracefully. Surpisingly the pair was not affected by the ship's movement as they landed, but they perfered not to test how long that would last, and was soon back in the air again.

The pair flew all over the place, working in sync with their counterparts, Isabo and Aroara, bringing back all of the dragons to their respected owners ((Anyone else can join in as well, but in the sibling's own flurry of wings, they couldn't see anyone else in the throng.))

~~~~~~~~~~
Bo watched the riders being thrown around like the leather balls that the dragons were chasing, feeling helpless to do anything. She knew her Nadder was feeling the same way. She clenched her fists around Aroara's reigns as her brother approached, but was relieved to find out that he had a plan.
She listened and pretended to think over her options, but only one was the obvious choice. She wanted to hug her brother but the height. She looked down and gulped, her fear expressed on her face. She hid it before he could notice and replied, "Sure, Alki-ou~" Saying the old nickname, brought back good memories from their childhoods to both riders.
As soon as Aroara heard "race" she was rearing to go, and as soon as Ivory started flying downwards, she followed suit. The Deadly Nadder did her signature spiral, pulling up at the last moment. The siblings exchanged one glance, then worked as a team, darting over and under each other, working stunningly as a team. To be honest, they had practiced flying these patterens over the past week, so it was a refined skill. Even so, it felt great to work as a team with her brother... Again...
((Uggh, I'm sorry if this was a bit too dramatic of a post! D:))
The girls mood picked up
The girls mood picked up greatly as she introduced herself. Showing a large grin that coupd rival his own. Although she managed to surprise him again when she didn't shake his hand but did some strange side-ways high five. Elder paused for a second and slowly withdreq his hand. Thankfully the girls dragon also seemed to be calming down and didn't look quite as malicious as it had before. "Guess we be'her get mov'n, huh?" Elder looked over the girls shoulder to see what she had been looking at and saw the boat had gone mad, it was rocking all over and various dragons were sprinting across the deck. He raised an eyebrow at the girl "You sure you want to get involved in that?" He asked with a smirk. When he saw the girls rather unamused look he dropped the smile and sighed. "I guess you're right" and with that he started towards the boat, his terrors in tow.
