((There's not much to be done about people putting in time skips other than just keep track of who's where and when. Unless we make a rule about no 'unofficial' time skips... That's up to Rock though.

Speaking of Rock, and thoseof us who are apparently coordinators for the rp now (it just happened...no idea), we haven't done much with the map yet. I'm mainly the cartographer, though, so I can't do much until we figure out what to put on it.

And we've figured out the plot, which will start soon. It was supposed to be next chapter but at this rate it seems it'll just be this one. Since apprently a certain golden carrot and her friends couldn't wait to get into it XD

But anyways, we have the plot worked out and mostly know what's gonna happen, so don't you worry about that.))

Uh...

((I was under the impression that we would be making another chapter/thread thanks to Josh, but he messaged me saying he was putting my character introduction up. <_<;;))

While we're on the subject of impressions...

((Mine was that we'd get all the characters introduced and interacting, and the next chapter would begin with someone announcing the expedition during a school assembly or something along those lines. Seems like we each have a different story... XP))

((I mean if you keep it on the down low, and keep it on a need to know basis, it should be fine to set it up this chapter, and then start the next chapter with the assembly, a "bang" as some people would call it, also don't forget to include reasons for other Vikings to join the expedition, honour, fame, loot, adventure, something like that haha))

Ahem..

((Now, now, Bari, it's a school; they don't normally offer up fame and loot XD Anyway, that's a good idea, to start the next chapter with the assembly. But then again, there's all those prep times, which is why I thought we'd end this chapter with the assembly... hummeh. Well, this might be a rather short (300++ replies is short? I'm such a liar XD) chapter. We'll get to the assembly part once everyone is up and ready to head to the school Hall :P Also, sorry I wasn't able to post an actual RP post; fatigue and medication sapped my consciousness a bit too often XP))

Well... this is new.

((Please forgive any errors in my post. I've made a point of not reading anything to catch up as a means of keeping Mudslide from knowing things she otherwise would have no knowledge about. I'm hoping dragons are allowed in the library, else I'll have to come back and edit out Sharksneeze's intro. Which I guess wouldn't be too hard...))

There was something about the old library that comforted her. The musty smell of old books, the flickering lights against the walls cast by countless little lit candles, and the quiet that generally accompanied what one would expect from such an establishment. Even with people talking overhead or heavy tombs being shuffled and leafed through, this was still unmistakably amicable by Viking standards. The added pleasure of a few dragons here and there was surprsingly helpful as well.

As it was, a certain little brunette Viking was currently perched upon a thick oaken bench that was clearly too high off the ground for her short little legs. Her feet dangled a few inches above the dusty floor, leaving her feet to gently swing back and forth as she delved into her current volume. Her helmet had, for once, been willingly removed from her scruffy hair and left to sit next to her on the bench to collect any wayward grains of dust in the air on the drying mud between its curled black horns.

It wasn't a bizarre sight to see her so filthy even in a library. It was her namesake after all. She lived and worked with the earth and knew her fair share of farming skills. Her hair still retained a few stray stands of hay in her tightly woven dark chestnut braid and dried mud clung to her boots. The front of her shirt showed signs of a bad habit of hers to wipe her hands down her front when they started to feel particularly gritty. The knees of her pants were scuffed up beyond repair while her skirt had clearly seen better days judging by its tattered ends. Even her right cheek was smeared with crusty clay that had previously mixed with her dehydrated sweat. Nearly every inch of her was colored some shade of brown by her daily chores.

But now? Now she was on break. And what better way to spend a break than by figuring out what in Thor's name was up her dragon's rear end today.

Unfortunately, the library didn't have very many texts when it came to Whispering Deaths. With a heavy huff, Mudslide slammed the book she'd been previously reading closed. Nothing. Not a smidgen of new information. She'd scoured the library relentlessly for new information and still had come up short. To be honest, there wasn't anything necessarily wrong with her dragon companion other than the fact that he'd been particularly difficult to work with this morning. It was his job to help plow her fields and today should have been no different. She still didn't know just what in Odin's name was up with the finicky basilisk. She turned to look to her right, fully expecting the dragon to still be sawing logs as he had been since arriving at the library today.

She was more than a bit startled to see his pupilless eyes wide open and focused on her petite form.

The fledgling Whispering Death was dark enough that most would say he was black in coloration over the majority of his serpentine body. Only the whites of his eyes and saturated cyan chin, undside of his wings, and underbelly cut through the somber coloration. As it was, he was young for a Whispering Death; barely having reached his 10 month old mark just last week. He was only just recently getting past the stage where his jaw muscles didn't spasm at the slightest hint of aggitation. His control over his firepower could still use some serious work, but that wasn't something high on his rider's To-Do List as of right now. Sadly, he was nowhere near his full size just yet either.

His long tail had pooled around his young rider's feet while the rest of his snake-like torso was either curling on the floor behind her or rest on the bench to her immediate right. His bulking lower jaw rested awkwardly upon the table top as the spines protruding from his chin either jammed into the wood or forced his head to be propped up at an angle.

The tempermental serpent didn't understand his rider's obsession with the oddly bounded piles of paper today. It was rather boring to watch her state blankly down at them for hours on end. He was already eager for a change of scenery. But something else caught his eye. Or rather... someone.

The Whispering Death's head began to rise up from the table top and a faint grumble began to escape his throat. Thankfully, the famous whisper did not present itself. His tail began to coil up past the girl's calves that was only noticed by her due to her feet being hindered in their gentle swinging. Perplexed, the girl turned her head to see the approaching figure of a hulking Viking who easily towered over her miniature form. He didn't seem to have any ill intentions and he looked awefully familiar the closer he got. Her dragon's lack of overall lack of screeching snarls was a good indication that this might very well be someone she knew.

And, sure enough, it looked to be Magnus Thorsten, twin brother of her friend Hammerstein.

After a brief exchange of pleasentries, the brunette hopped down from her perch and hastily jammed her helmet back on. Her dragon had calmed down a fair bit but still remained on edge as he'd never met these people before. Still, he followed after his young rider and Magnus back toward where Aylen and Jarret were waiting. After a brief introduction, Mudslide (as she was aptly named) offered up a cheeky grin that revealed her missing upper left canine. "Pleased to ya'll!" she piped in with an accent that made her vowels sound overly exaggerated. Her Whispering Death behind her huffed, drawing her attention back to the basilisk that was lingering a few feet away from the group. With a laugh, the brunette waved him over to which the dragon did not ablige. "Don't mind Sharksneeze," she offered up in her companion's place, "he's just cranky."

"So..." Mudslide began as she swayed from her toes to the heels of her boots and back. "What're ya'll up to d'at I'ah can assist wi'd?"

All's well ends well...

Unless you bother my family. I'm looking at you Thorin. -Alki Wolfblood, 2014

((Let's just continue with the conversation. Pretend all this time stuff isn't all over the place.))

Alki returned to the Libary, and sat down next to Aradyn and blinked his eyes slowly and thoughtfully. 'What were we talking about before that ship-sinker of a viking bothered us?' He worriedly glanced once more at the door, making sure there was no more trouble. Sighing, he spoke his apologuizes for creating a ruckus, but his eyes still burned with anger for him. Shaking his head seemed to extinguish the fire in his gaze, and he calmed down. "What were we talking about again?" His eyes gleamed with child-like innocence as he scratched the back of his head, feeling guilty.

(( Lemon- Er, at this point the class had already started and Isabo was just getting there, clinging tightly to the small piece of paper she was supposed to give the instructor. What you said could be a flash-back though. ':| It's just a suggestion.))

As Isabo showed up to the Wilderness Survival class, she got many stares and confused chatter echoed around her. She kept her head low and made her way to the teacher. Anyone who tried to block her way quickly backed off from her protective dragon's weaponry. The teacher okay'd her, but she was only allowed to do so much. She wasn't allowed to try chopping some trees, which honestly she was glad about, fish, and was barely even allowed to help build the shelter! The whole time she got questioned and teased because of her inabilty to do anything really that helpful. The worst part of it was, she couldn't fight back. Everything that they said was just.

The only people keeping her from leaving in tears were her close friends who hurled insults right back at the bullies; although it wasn't the most honorable and mature thing to do, it showed how much they cared about her. Most of her tormentors backed off with their tails between their legs as soon as Isabo's help arrived on the scene, and not even one stayed after class.

It mas very quiet and peaceful sitting around the campfire, with friendly faces around her. It was so nice and quiet you could pratically hear the sun setting.

((Now I'm hoping Thorin will ruin the happy get-together by scaring Isabo half to death by his dragon. You don't have to, but it'd be funny; just sayin'.))

((*looks around* A flashbak

((*looks around* A flashbak it is then! ^_^ So I'll have to make her get in the library after all?

... nah!

I really don't want her to meet Ismey just yet, cuz she'd probably be rather shocked, and would freeze up. And then she'd jus...

...

... Be at such state for a while! xD

... so the Wilderness it is (after a while, so the sun is down, 'n' the night is here)! ^_^))

Inna marchd to the campsite and her dragon companion, unlikely folloved. The red hair hadn't cared about the mud on her dragon's scales, and decided to worry about that later. Rosethorn's pearly white spines though, allways managed to stay clean, and even now, they glowed in the dark ((not too much though! xD much like snow glows in the full moon night! :3... there's moon now... right?)).

Inna tried to find an empty spot by the fire, but ended up sitting on the wet grass, her dragon, standing next to her. Perphaps her survival skills were not-so-exellent in summer, rather than winter.

Yup Yup.

Isabo smiled at Inna, and patted the spot next to her, inviting the other girl to sit. They were about to hear a story about the mysterious ghost dragon, who was found almost always during the nighttime. Watching, waiting to take their dragon companions with them. Even though Isabo knew it was just a story, it sent chills down her spine, and she wanted her arrogant dragon next to her again, safe and sound.

Returning her attention back to the story, she listened intently. The fire flickering moving to and fro, the laughs of her friends talking about how stupid and unrealistic the story was, along with the faint glow from the moon climbing the horizon. With a peaceful sigh, the young Wolfblood wondered how long they were all going to stay. It was starting to get late, and she was getting awefully tired.

Inna noticed Isabo sitting

Inna noticed Isabo sitting next to a several other kids. Isabo pattet at the seat next to her, that appeared to be free, so she went for it.

"Do you think the dragon is real?" Inna asked doubtfully. The story about the ghost dragon, didn't seem like true, but Inna had learned the hard way, that anything could happen. Even the tales you don't belive.

Elder sat at the now empty

Elder sat at the now empty table and inspected the book he held. It was bound in red leather and on the front simply read "Bloodcloaks: Scourge of the north" Elder didn't like the sound of the title, he was almost scared to read any further, he might not like what he finds. Lif and Bani landed on the table and fought for a spot right in front of Elder, Lif won and sat in front of Elder as Bani sat behind him. Elder raised an eyebrow at the eager looking dragons in front of him "what?" They both looked at the book he held. "You want me to read to you?" Elder said, now even more confused. Both dragons nodded and continued waiting in anticipation. Elder laughed and scratched them both on the chin. "Ok, If you want" He opened the book and began to read.

"Bloodcloaks were a famous, or rather infamous, tribe from the north. Known for their savage and brutal nature, all children of the tribe were taught to kill a man from as early as 5. Often hired as mercenaries, Bloodcloaks would use their brutal fighting skill, quick-thinking and insatiable bloodlust to dispose of their enemies as fast and as savagley as possible. Many of them didn't even do mercenary work, some killed meerly for pleasure. They also killed many dragons..." Lif and Bani looked alarmingly at Elder "...Now wait a minute...but some were known to take them on as pets" The dragons both looked relieved "When the males of the tribe come of age they are given a red-leather cloak, however if the father dies, the cloak is given to the eldest son regardless of age. Another distinguishing feature of the Bloodcloaks is the amount of tears and cuts in the cloaks of the elder males. This is apparentley because they refuse to stitch any cuts recieved in combat. They believe that if they keep the cuts they carry the memory, and thus the experience, of their battles with them. Some years ago the tribe was entirely wiped out. The killers are unknown, as are their motives." Elder closed the book and put it on to the table. He took a moment to contemplate what he just read.

No...No...that can't be right...I can't have come from such savage people...could i? It did explain a few things though. Also the book knew nothing of the circumstances of my people's murder. I must know what happened to them...but how? Then it hit him. They were a northern tribe...of course that expedition to the north they were talking about. He stood up as fast as he could, knocking the table forward and nearly knocking his dragons off. As they regained their balance, a large grin crept onto Elder's face. He looked at his dragons and they looked as confused as he had been earlier. "My people are from the north, just were that archiving girl's heading. If i want to find out more...I'm gonna have to have to go talk to her" and with that he walked off in search of her.

((Ok so this may be a time-skip, I'm not sure how long it would have taken Elder to read the book. Which means i'm also not sure whether Josh and Carotius are still in the library.))

Metal's falling apart

Metal thought on that tribe, he was sure he had heard of it before but he couldn't find in his memory where he had come across it before. At that moment out of the corner of his eye he saw something pass by the door and it was a face he recognised all to well. Metal, forgetting he had company muttered an excuse even he didn't quite understand something about fetching an item from gobber.

He made a bee line straight for the door at a very fast walk, he passed the door and span 360 degrees as he moved away from the library to see if he could find the figure that he had seen only moments ago. Metal paused to think about what he had seen. As he thought Shadow deccended from above and landed next to Metal but he was detached and didn't notice.

It couldn't .... have been them ... They are dead ... I watched them die.

Metal went on like this for a while before Shadow brough him back by nudging him violently and almost knocking him over, He looked down at his hands which were not only shaking violently but also sweating profoundley, he felt hot, agitated and his thoughts buzzed like a bee hive.

Whith Shadow, Metal flew from the school, after adorning all his gear, and went straight to their old cave in the wall side. If anything right now Metal felt as if it would be best if he were alone

meh

Kará was perched high in a tree bordering the edge of changewing island.

The sea was calm and still unlike the storm there had been yeasterday ((am i right?)).

feeling a nudge from behind, Kará turned to see the nest mother which mildly surprised her after all the nest mother hardly ever interacted with hatchlings. The nest mother spoke in the soft hissing dragon languge "you need to come there is a colony emergency" before shifting to match her surroundings then she was gone.

Kará stood carful balencing on the branch before leping into the thicker trees with practiced ease moving more esily than she did on ground.

whale she made her way back to the nesting grounds she kept wondering what could be the emergency?

As much as I'm not really a fan of time skips...
((In reply to Shadow's post on the previous page - we need to get caught up with the others, so I'm inserting an unobtrusive opportunity for a time-skip.))

Maceforge looked at the pint-sized Nightmare with curiosity and a bit of surprise when he nuzzled into his side and curled up for a nap. I guess the hatchling isn't afraid of me... He gently draped his wing over the baby dragon, purring softly to avoid waking him, before curling his tail around himself for another attempt at a nap. I suppose this isn't so bad. He seems nice...

-------------------------------------------

"Sure, I can take you over there," Hammerstein replied to Briarwolf's question. "Mace is definitely faster than a boat. It's not too bad at the School - I've seen a few quiet people around. They just usually avoid me..." He laughed a bit before continuing. "It looks like our dragons are enjoying a bit of a nap, so take your time getting your stuff and I'll just stay here with them." Hammerstein sat down and leaned back into the pleasant warmth of his dragon's side, beginning to feel a bit drowsy himself as he looked out toward the sea stacks.

Story Time!

Isabo looked at Inna, her hazel eyes calm but fearful, "I doubt it, but who knows, all stories have some truth in them." The girl smiled as the dark silver Nadder came back, and laid down next to it's trainer. It tilted it's head at times, looking like it was listening to the story being told by one of the students.

"The dragon was born a Change Wing, but this one was different. It was the Screaming Death in a batch of Whispering eggs. Some say, it could change it's form as well as it's color. Actually, it was just a mirage, the monster was still always a Change Wing, but seemed to take on different forms; a Nightmare, a Nadder, whatever form the dragon it seemed to feel like that night, that's what it seemed to be. How, do you know it's the same dragon? It never has a rider, and the morning after you see it, you find your dragon has disappeared, or has died; but, the most important thing to tell if you have seen it is that the dragon always looks the same. Unusually large fangs, long claws, ghostly white scales, a golden barb on the end of it's tail, and pitch black eyes that you see your worst nightmare ((Not the dragon!)) in." The reader inhaled deeply, and continued, more ominous than before, "My words of advice, if you see it, pretend you didn't. Those who have tried to train it were never seen again, or were found as just a messy lump of bones. Rumor is that it dwells far north, but once you return, you are so traumatized, that you never want to hear or speak of what you saw. Dragon or not, it's always the same story...." ((That's all I could think of at the moment.))

Isabo was curious about what was up north that was so bad, besides the alleged "Ghost Dragon". She looked down at her dragon, and saw the same curiousity there. She just needed to find some people to go with...

((Now for names! I really need help with figuring out which name to use for Alki's future Nadder! [You can suggest ideas too!]

The dragon's body color's going to be white like snow, but it's spines are going to be very stunning icey blue, and it's underbelly will be a bright gold. It also has a marking in it's shoulder [Help with shape!] that's smokey grey. It will also have a slightly larger wingspan than average.

Female dragon: White Fire, Ice Flower, Snow Leaf, or Frozen Wing.

Male dragon: Frost Forest, White Darkness, Silver Tongue [If you get that reference I'll give you internet hugs], or Sharp Tooth

Unisex: Broad Wing, Broken Fang, Golden Heart, Mask Heart, Half Sky, and Sky Breaker.

And just for laughs [which I wont use]: Fish Face or Dragon Breath.))

((Silver tongue turned to lead? And how about Ivory Frost? Or Frozen Ivory? Something with Ivory in it, methinks. As for the mark, I'd do a "dagger" (it'd just be a strange cross-like mark, but look like a dagger or sword), or perhaps a skull-like mark. Unless your charrie is gonna paint or otherwase make the mark himself, in which case: dagger ,sword, skull, flame, a spine in the colour of Exavier, possibly a feather. I can keep going if you want.))

Briarwolf nodded, and went to gather her things. It didn't take long to roll up her makeshift bedroll, collect her knapsack, et cetera. She opened her stores of food and made sure they were available to nature - all edibles would be gone within days, of course. By then, she was ready, simple as that. After that, it was only a matter of retrieving Stormfalcon, ignoring Maceforge's grumbling, and then take-off.

When the reached the school, Briarwolf hopped off as soon as they touched down. Flight was still such an odd sensation, despite her recent experiences, and she was glad to be on solid ground again. She looked around, taking note of small details to build up a picture of what was what, and where. There were a lot of people here...

"So, ah...where do I report," she asked, unsure of what to do next. She was waiting for an answer when Stormfalcon suddenly screeched and leapt off her shoulders, gliding towards one of the buildings. Startled and worried for the dragonling, Briarwolf darted after him, trying to catch him as he bounded through the open doors. He seemed to be excited about all the other dragons, and kept bothering each one he saw while staying just ahead of Briar. Finally he jumped onto what appeared to be a spiky snake with a bloated head, and it was miracle he didn't impale himself. Unfortunately, the spiky snake dragon didn't seem to enjoy being pounced on, and a horrible whispering sound started up from within the beast's maw. Briarwolf, who managed to skid to a halt before running into the group of people who were with the whispering snake beast, swallowed in apprehension. Stormfalcon didn't seem to understand or care that the other dragon was unappreciative of his presence, but Briarwolf managed to pluck him off before he caused too much trouble. She hoped.

Perhaps it was luck, or un-luck, but she did recognise one face - it was Magnus. Feeling very much on-the-spot, she almost froze up before getting her mind to work.

"Er...s-sorry about that," she apologised, even quieter than usual, "He's still..just a baby, ah..sorry. Um..I'll just..be going now..." She started backing up, feeling completely embarrassed and thinking that maybe she'd made a bad decision by coming here...

((Comedy. Pure comedy. I'm so mean to my characters. Also, I hope it's okay that I just skipped ahead to them being at the school. We should now be on the same track as Mag, Mud, and that group. And I think I got Shark's reaction right?

Thorin is now in the new time frame.

((I assume I am one of the last people to time skip, so I shall join in so we can all continue more or less on the same page, so here is my hopefully longer post))

Thorin watched over the bustling school from atop one of the surrounding cliffs, the brisk air cresting over the rock face, below students who looked to be the size of ants were walking around and chatting among themselves. Thorin genitally dangling his legs over the edge was lost in quiet though, there was a loud whoosh as a couple dragons and their riders raced around the inside of the caldera, they cheerfully laughed as one another took the lead. Thorin followed the group of racers with his eyes, in no time they landed on one of the school's many paths, they shook hands with each other and swapped pennigar bets. Thorin's gaze shifted to a familiar figure walking down the same path, It was the librarian. Thorin's face hardened at the sight at the volatile viking, he let out a long drawn out sigh “He got mad at me for talking to his sister?” Thorin said as he turned to meet his Skrill, “Why am I talking to you? You have no idea what it all means” he chuckled. Thorin stood up, his feet hurting from the long trek up to the cliff, he slowly made his way over to the skrill who happily chuffed a greeting to his rider. ((A “Chuff” is the quick exhaled greeting a tiger does when it is happy)) Thorin in turn reached into the dragon satchel that hanged off the Skrill's side and pulled out one of the slick Eel's. Bolt's gaze Shot to meet the Eel that was slung in the palm or his rider's hand, his eyes widened and his pupil's narrowed, With a quick motion bolt reared up on his two legs while Thorin tossed the long slimy fish at the skrill. The skrill was quick to react and caught the Eel in his mouth, which he quickly devoured whole, the dragon let off a slight purr of contentment as Thorin laid on the ground and burred his face under his arm to block out the piercing sunlight, quickly the teen faded away into the dream realm.

A bright flash as lightning struck, houses burning, the consuming flames, screams, howls... Thorin's eyes flickered open, just another sleep-terror for him, one out of the many that happened nearly every night, but their frighting effects had long worn off. He slowly rubbed his eyes and slowly rolled over, he suddenly felt a dragging feeling, his eyes shot open as he started to slip over the edge of the cliff. Thorin's hands instinctively shot up and clawed at the receding dirt, frantic to find a nook to shove themselves in, pain shot through his arm as one of his hands found it's mark, he heard a gut-wrenching pop resonate from his shoulder as it dislocated as he dangled over the edge of the cliff. With his other arm he hauled himself back up over the edge, gasping at the pain that pounded his shoulder with each and every heart beat. The injured teen struggled to his feet and approached his sleeping dragon, with a smack to the Skrill's side bolt rose and looked inquisitively at his rider. Thorin walked over to the dragon and propped his injured shoulder on the Skrill's hard hide, with all his body weight, he forced it into the Skrill's side sending a immense amount of pain followed by another pop as the arm regained its control.

Thorin looked around, The sky was filled with the pink and orange clouds of sunset, but the actual sun eluded Thorin's sight as the rim of the caldera blocked his view. Day had escaped and cheerful campfire songs echoed in the distance, Thorin started to make the long trek back to the School with his dragon peacefully in tow...

((the moral of the story in, Kids, don't sleep near the edge of a cliff xD, Anyways, I think I am the last one to time skip, so here it is!))

Nice try!

((The name Silver Tongue comes from a book [I can't think of the title right now] that I read a while back. Well, it was more of a nickname because he could summon characters from a book [It was also the characters who called him that]. Also, the Ivory works very well for the extremely narssistic, attention-seeking, and vain dragon that he will train next. Now how to incorporate Ivory into the name? [Not that I didn't like your ideas, but I'm very indecisive but, at the same time, I need lots of options!]

Also Baricuda, It's not campfire songs, it's a story, mind you! >.>))

((Oh, lol. I was thinking of Loki, who is always described as having a silver tongue, meaning he's good with weaving words.

Frosted Ivory, Ivory Snow, um....... wow. 'm not having a good day today. Too much on my mind, I think...))

For reference...

(("Silvertongue" comes from the book "Inkheart," and yes, it refers to someone who can bring books to life by reading them. Very little relevance to anything, but yeah.))

I guess so...

((I was just a wee bit curious to see who got it and it does have a bit of relevance, because Alki does spend his days almost completely around books and he [somewhat] helps people with 'sick' books [It was why I thought of it, please don't be too harsh or angry! >.<]. In any case, I wasn't planning to use the name [I don't know why I didn't put it under the 'just for fun' area], so don't worry about relevance!))

Inkheart!!!

((Cornelia Funke wrote those books (it's a trilogy) -- they're wonderful! You could name the dragon Silver Tongue and then give Alki the nickname "Dustfinger" -- it's another character in the series and makes sense because Alki's a librarian and probably works with a lot of dusty books!))

Yea...

((But I have to point out the fact that Dustfinger was kind of in a relationship with 'SilverTongue' 's  wife, so that would make this so much more awkward for me posting... Having that in the back of my brain... *is somewhat weirded out by the dragon/rider being combined with Inkheart idea*

Anyways, ready to go get your mail?))

Well, that's your opinion and here's mine.

((I kinda mentioned that there was only that one group because there is [I'm guessing] a [very recommened] curfew for the students to be in there farms/house by sun down, and about only about half [or less] the class stayed [but I guess the class could be pretty big and there could be a few small groups and a bigger, main one, so I'll let this slide... This time] and it wouldn't be that loud, unless they were screeching at the top of their lungs. I rest my case.))

Kará carfully jumped into the center of the nesting grounds where most of the islands changewings had gatherd she notcied that there were signifently fewer than there were at the last council.

Walking past a couple to get into the setion where the hatchling were she notices fresh scars upon some What on earth is going on. she was snapped out of her thoughts when the nest mother started to speak

"Great evil has befallen this island one tha has not been seen for thousands of years. That was a north storm it contained something unknowen to us. All that we know is that the last time a north storm came it drove changewings mad even causing them to attack their own kind and now it has returnd some of you have alredy encounted the now crazed chagewing."

Whale hearing this Kará's grew wide, haveing heard the tales, those were bad enough but now they were she thought what if they attacked the nesting grounds. once again her thoughts were broken by the nest mothers voice "so that is why we are orgnising a patrol and withdraing with all our eggs into the tunnels as for food small hunting partys shall be sent but no hatchlings are to leave the tunnels."

((ugh I'm terrible at this.))

Posty Time~

((Don't mind if I move the group towards the School Hall, then? Now that Mace and Briarwolf have made it back to the school.I'll do a sort of mass movement for the group with Aylen, if you guys don't mind.

Also, Josh...I realised that Magnus didn't get the answer he wanted from Jarret XD))

"Uh...okay..?" Aylen raised an eyebrow at Magnus's retreating form, curious as to what the blacksmith was talking about.

Deciding that she had stared at her friend long enough, Aylen shifted her focus back to the table, and lifted her eyebrows once again. Jarret had backtracked and sat back down at the table, incoherent mumblings escaping his lips in steady streams. The young man had given another student a suspicious glare, to which said person edged away, seemingly searching for another book.

Though barely audible, Aylen could hear her brother's low rumblings. "You eavesdrop on the enemy, never the ally. But then again, that isn't a fair culture either."

'What is he talking about?' she thought, staring at the fairly-built Viking that was her older brother. 'Come to think of it...he hasn't told anyone about where he's been all these years.'

The two Gryfforsons expected Magnus to return with something like a book or a scroll, but instead, the burly blacksmith came trotting back with a girl whose stature made Magnus not unlike a human version of the Red Death ((hahahaha~ I pointed to the height! HEIGHT!)).

"Aylen and Jarret, this is Mudslide. My twin brother had a run-in with her Whispering Death not too long ago, which is how I met her, and I bet she'd be a great addition to our little group," Magnus introduced the small figure cheerily.

Jarret, previously resting his head in his upturned head, suddenly sat rigid, eyes wide. "Her what?"

As if on cue, a slithering form sidled up a distance away from them, its huge maw laden with vicious-looking spikes. The white, pupilless eyes seemed to glare at the gathered party, but the iconic sound that had historically been associated with this dragon was not heard.

Jarret and Aylen stared at each other, at a loss for words. This girl was the trainer of a Whispering Death

"Don't mind Sharksneeze; he's just cranky," Mudslide smiled, waving her dragon over. Rocking back and forth on her heels, she tilted her head at the pair. "So...What're ya'll up to d'at I'ah can assist wi'd?"

"She's not from around here, is she?" Jarret whispered, an inexplicable expression crossing his features.

Aylen rolled her eyes towards him, sporting a 'Really? Now, of all times?' look. "You wanted to ask her to lose the accent, didn't you? Don't give me that face, Jarret."

Then came light but rapid footsteps, and the unmistakable screech of a dragon. A baby one it appears, because one suddenly came gliding through the doors, continuing its excited run through adorably clumsy scampers that ended with a little pounce on the deadly Boulder Class dragon. Said dragon began its trademark whisper, the teeth lining its protruding jaws rotating in the manner that had never failed to instil fear in Vikings.

But the dragonling was seemingly oblivious, instead directing its attention to everyone at the table, looking ever so enthusiastic. Moments later, the little reptile was plucked from Sharksneeze, narrowly avoiding an unwanted bickering of dragons. Whoever it was that snatched him up was now apologising profusely, slowly beginning to back away.

As Aylen trailed the hands up to the facial features, her eyes widened in surprise. "Briarwolf? You...I haven't seen you in a while!"

'Briarwolf? Odd name...She does not look to be from Berk,' Jarret narrowed his eyes at the second newcomer, the gears in his head beginning to spin rapidly, gradually slowing to its normal pace. 'Something about it is...familiar, however.'

~oOo~

Having explained the necessary chunks and chips of details to Mudslide (while trying not to stiffen in fear whenever the Whispering Death came close), Aylen did one final inspection of the area they had occupied, making sure no loose scraps of parchment or a book was left behind - she didn't want people to be burying their noses into currently-private matters such as this.

Her "nameless" student had long since left the library, but not before reading a red, leather-bound book that he seemed somewhat elated to find. What he had been doing hanging about near their spot, she didn't know, but she'd keep a close eye on him.

"So let me get this straight: You expect the six of us, with five fairly-grown dragons and one tyke, to travel thousands of miles to the north end just for a giant stone which may not even be there?" Jarret's near-sarcastic dialogue snapped the archivist out of her thoughts.

She glared at him. "What's wrong with that?"

"This crew we have is a bit inadequate...by participants, if you want it specific," Jarret replied, shrugging his shoulders. "The bitter cold of the north that'll bite your neck, or freeze exposed skin upon contact.. You'll need a variety of skills to get through all that - fire, wool and all the usuals won't be enough."

He looked poised to continue, but he clamped his mouth shut just as quickly, swallowing the words that nearly ran off his tongue. The young man cleared his throat, distracting the group from his little fumble. Aylen, however, became even more suspicious of him, but now wasn't the right time.

Turning to the gathered Vikings, she nodded. "Okay, we'll head over to the School Hall now. Headmaster should be in there with newly arrived mail."

((Shadow, I'm suffering from cuteness overload because of Stormfalcon XD

While I was typing 'Whispering', my drowsiness caused me to type 'Shipering'. What is that! XP Okay, I hope this puts most of us in the "current time".))

((Well, now I'm confuzzled. So, who're the six people in the group? Aylen, Jarret, Magnus, Mudslide... I'm guessing you included Briar despite not mentioning her in the second half... who's #6? Mace?

Also, yes, Storm is adorable. I made him that way and I still get tickled at his antics.))

Yep

((You got it. Magnus is very likely to ask Briarwolf to stay when she tried making an escape from the library. And we can safely say Mace would want to make sure that she and the dragonling aren't hurt or anything XD Okay, assumptions based on "past experiences"... haha..))

Metal landed back at the school entrance and walked the rest of the way towards his dorm, Shadow had flown to and from their home and she was no longer able to keep up her stamina. As Metal walked each foot fall seemed to clank with metal ((No pun intended)) and students seemed to stare more than ever.

He had returned from hom with all his weapons and gear in tow, 2 swords hung loosley from his waist one at each side and a finely carved bow went around his chest accompaniued by a quiver also black, bondoliers and satchles hung from his neck contining jars of diufferent coloured liquids and many daggers which seemed to spill over the top as well as asorted needle like objects, another bag contained large objects that seemed to clang and rattle about, the bag was as tall as Metal himself anf seemed heavy.

Murrmurs erupted among the students as before them was a manifestation of their worst nnightmares, before them was a wanderer armed to the teeth and with a gaze so cold the ground at his feet seemed to turn to frost.

Metal had definetly saw that person earlier and he wanted answer's, but the answers he wanted wouldn't be found here, at this school. once he collected everything from his dorm Metal left the bags and assorted equipment and headed straight for the headmaster's office, no doudt if he just dissapeared he would likely be attacked by hooligans again and althought he could take them they would just get in the way, so the fully armored and angry looking wanderer headed straight for the headmaster office.

I'm just a troublemaker.

Isabo looked around her and at the disappearing sunlight, and decided that she should probably change her bandages and get some rest. She quickly said her good-byes, grabbing her satchel with her other hand, she walked towards the main school area to find her brother to make sure he got some rest too. She was stopped in her tracks when she saw Thorin and his dragon, Bolt ((Dun-dun-duh)). Her eyes grew worried when she saw how he was holding his arm ((?)), and carefully walked over to the pair. She looked at him, raising an eyebrow, and said inquisitively, "What did you do? If you don't mind me asking." Her dragon eyed Bolt, never seeing a dragon like him before. Suspicious of the newcomer, she clung to her rider and growled quietly, low enough that only the other dragon could hear it.

"You're right about legends

"You're right about legends having thruth in them too! I once didn't belive Night Furies existed... but guess who is the first ever trained dragon?" Inna said and listened on to Isabo. "I don't think it's possible for a dragon to be able to change in that much forms. But the fact about being ghostly white and having black eyes sounds reasonable."

Inna smiled and waved goodbye to Isabo. She watched the fire flicker and yawned.

"Okay, Rosethorn! It's time for me to go!" Inna noticed that her dragon had gotten even more muddy... again, so she sighed. "Rosethorn! Do you have any idea how hard it is to get it off your scales?" Rosethorn just looked away and gave Inna an innocent look.

Inna hopped on her dragon and flew off to her farm.

((They've been introduced to the farms allready, k?))
