Yunobo agreed "And I'm hoping d.eath mountain isn't erupting right now. Our beast affects the environment too."

Rudania meanwhile sort of...increased his pausing. He didn't put the drones away but he had stopped pursuing Medoh with them. They were just hovering in place. He looked in the direction from which Naboris' messages were coming from with a crouched somewhat submissive posture like it finally really hit him that he crossed a line. (And with Rudania that means his belly was almost to the ground given he sort of has a low posture most of the time anyway. His tail was likely drooped downward too)

The grass under the great lizard's feet still steamed after the fire had gone out.

Yunobo paused wondering if he should continue heading over or if it was over. He didn't feel safe dropping everything yet.

Link whispered "Anyone else getting a dog who p.ooped on the rug vibe from Rudania's pose right now? Don't tell him I said that though."

Yunobo told him "You shouldn't say things like that around me if you don't want him to know. Goro. I...apparently don't know how to control the mind messaging yet."

Link sort of gave Yunobo a "Oh geeze you're right." sort of look and hoped Rudania had not caught that one.

Jessa sighed and looked at Rudania. Poor guy looked like he did leave an unpleasant gift on the rug and his owner just told him off for it.

"Hey, at least Naboris got them to calm down. Though I do kinda feel bad for Rudania getting scolded by Naboris like that. I haven't had to scold Trixie like that since she was a kit. She used to use that pose all the time when she knew she was in trouble." She told the others, earning a confirming whine from Trixie as the fox pressed up against Zelda, staying as far away from the strange girl and the Divine Beasts as possible.

Zelda however said "I don't feel bad. He brought it apon himself and it's not permanent. There are natural consequences to one's actions even if one is full of divine enchantment."

Yunobo said "I don't know where I fall. Though...I feel like some apologies need to start passing around. Goro. Medoh and Rudania are brothers. Brothers should make up after fighting. Goro. If they don't think to apologize themselves in a little bit I'll offer that to Rudania and try to explain how it might smooth things over."

Zelda told him "That is a very mature course of action Yunobo."

"T-Thank you. Goro." replied Yunobo clearly not ready for a compliment from a queen.

[Personally, I agree with the young Goron. He's wise beyond his years. He'll make a good partner for Rudania as they mature together. And I DO believe apologizes are in order.] Naboris commented, no doubt listening in on the conversation through Jessa, aiming that last part at Rudania. She did that sometimes. No doubt she saw when Trixie trotted back over to her human, plonking down beside her, earning a scratch behind the ear.

"You should know Yunobo, Naboris says that you're smarter than you think you are. And that you'll be a good partner for Rudania as he matures." Jessa reported, smiling at her Goron friend as Trixie yipped her own approval. Jessa smiled, proud of the young Goron

Rudania looked up towards Medoh not 100% ready to admit this fight was at least partly his fault.
Yunobo was not use to the amount of pride that swelled in his chest. All he could do was give Jessa another awkward stuttery "Thank you." under the assumption that Jessa would send that to Naboris. He felt even more on the spot when Rudania got slightly distracted from the apology topic and put his attention on him. The beast noticed how proud of himself Yunobo was and gave an [Awwwww.] in reaction because he thought it was adorable when the often anxious Yunobo let himself be proud. Yunobo then had to pull himself out of that in order to try to steer things back where they needed to be. He had come out here to help and he was going to do it if he could. He said "ISN'T THERE SOMETHING YOU WANT TO SAY TO YOUR BROTHER, RUDANA? Goro. I DON'T THINK YOUR SISTER SHOULD HAVE TO ASK MANY TIMES!"

Link asked "Why are you yelling?"

Yunobo replied "I'm not good at mind talking yet and I'm not close enough for regular talking. Goro."

Zelda said "Oh, here." and did something with the slate before handing it to Yunobo (who had to hold it between two fingers because of the big hand thing).

Yunobo said "AH! Don't give me this! Goro! You were worried about Link loosing it and you think I won't?"

Zelda told him "Actually, I think it's very likely you won't. Espessully given that was your reaction to the idea. Now, don't drop it but hold it towards me. I'm about to teleport you."

"GORO?! You're about to what?" Yunobo asked as he held the slate out towards Zelda. She poked the screen one more time and then Yunobo seemed to unstitch into lines of light. Because he didn't know what was happening he was last seen looking at his arms as if they were covered in spiders or something.

Rudania stiffened and looked towards where Yunobo was last seen worried because of Yunobo's fear. He might've done something problematic if Yunobo didn't just seconds later materialize at Rudania's doorway (which is where Rudania's travel gate, A.K.A. circle on the floor that can be teleported to is). Rudania couldn't immediately see the boy but he knew what happened faster then he could see it as he knew his travel gate just activated. Well, that and Yunobo let out an "AAAAAAH!" as he became solid enough to produce noise followed by him patting himself and noting "I'm alive? I'm alive! That was...really unpleasant. Goro."

Yunobo did not figure out what happened for a good several seconds before realizing that he was on Rudania and becoming just a bit nervous because this was the first time he had boarded Rudania without Rudania offering first (if you don't count a few awkward moments in the past where he didn't bounce off during the canon situation and once when Yunobo accidentally fell on him from a cliff but Yunobo didn't count any of those).

The first thing he did was get up onto Rudania's back and then say ".....Zelda did it! I didn't do this! I..." he trailed off as he felt that Rudania was not angry at him. Still, the boy felt awkward enough that he jumped to the ground a moment later just to avoid possibly being rude (and because Daruk's protection stopped that fall from hurting). Yunobo did not feel that he and Vah Rudania had reached the point where he could just climb the beast whenever he wanted yet. He still needed an invitation. To get past the issue as fast as possible Yunobo said "So... Goro....the apology thing?"

Rudania argued [Medoh started it! He should apologize first!]

Yunobo asked "Did he though?"

[Yes!] Rudania insisted.

Yunobo said "Ok. So...he did this time. Goro. I don't see any reason not to believe you. But....you did go after him before this time. Did he do something before that? Goro."

Rudania thought about it for quite a long time then admitted [No. Not for THAT time.] continuing [But all I did the first time was fly a drone over his head. I didn't touch him or fly it through him the first time! He insulted me to my face by insulting my face!]

Yunobo then said "And then after he did that what did you do?"

Rudania admitted [I flew a drone through him.]

Yunobo said "Goro. So that's two drone things for one face thing."

Rudania thought about that. Yunobo could feel he was still stubborn though.

Switching tactics after thinking for a moment Yunobo told him "You know, I don't actually know how much worse insulting your face was compared to you invading his space. Goro. I'm not going to pretend to. But...he's your brother right? Goro. And he didn't like what you did and you didn't like what he did. Don't you think you should just apologize and get this over with? Goro. It might convince him to do it if you do it."

[And if he doesn't?] Rudania sent.

Yunobo replied "Then in that case you're the more mature brother. Goro. Do you want to be the more mature brother?"

Rudania stared at the ground then agreed [Yes.]

Yunobo pressured "So what do you say? Goro."

Rudania looked skyward and sent [I'm sorry I flew a drone through you and circled your head with one earlier.]

Teba ~ Male ~ Rito & Zeraena & Vah Medoh

¥ Zeraena ¥

Zeraena interpreted Zelda's response as 'these are the new champions I've chosen for the Divine Beasts' and automatically assumed that these were all forced pairings for some sort of royal family agenda. She just sort of slowly nodded and focused on keeping a straight face as Zelda said this. She did end up following them out there because... just a great opportunity to eavesdrop. She eyed Trixie when the fox had approached her, watching it trot away immediately afterwards. Her supposed owner commented on this. Zeraena simply gave her a 'Yeah, probably.' in response.

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

Vah Medoh didn't reply when Rudania demanded that he take back the flower thing. Mostly because he didn't see a reason to. It WAS the truth after all.

He spotted when Zelda's group ended up heading out to Hyrule Field, inwardly defensive of what they might try doing. Naboris' snapping didn't help him very much. He was still feeling justified in his actions.

When Rudania started to slow down his drones to the point where Medoh was able to get far enough ahead of them, he greatly considered putting up his shield. However, he saw Teba flying towards him around this time which made him greatly reconsider trying that. He didn't want to accidentally hurt the guy if he got too close, after all.

Teba flew up to about eye-level with him, looking over at him. They both sort of flew in silence for a few minutes before Teba asked "..Vah Medoh. Why are you fighting with Rudania?"

Medoh wanted to launch into a rant of a bunch of little things as to why, but he knew Teba probably wouldn't catch all of it. If any of it. Stewing a little while over this inconvenience, Medoh slowly started to actually think about it. And when he did, he realized he didn't really have that good of an answer to that question.

He lowered his head a tad to glance down at Rudania. [...No real reason..] he finally admitted.

He was a little curious of if Teba got that, but was more preoccupied with Rudania for the moment. He noticed when the lizard looked up, and was greatly surprised when Rudania gave an apology. Not only for flying his drones at him this time, but for before, too.

Medoh flew in silence for several moments, deciding whether he should actually apologize back or not. He glanced at Teba (which in this case was just focusing since he had Teba in his peripheral vision before) who was giving him a solemn stare. Then he internally sighed, knowing he should apologize. [....Alright. I'm sorry too. I already knew how you get about that topic so there was no reason for me to be bringing it up and dragging it out. Thank you for apologizing for your behavior prior to this.] he sent.

Rudania was very pleased by this result. Of course he had to give an [I forgive you.] to Medoh after that and as he recalled his drones (which had still been just hovering in a random spot since they stopped chasing Medoh) he looked to Yunobo to tell the boy [You were right! He apologized too!]

Yunobo said "See? Goro. Brother's care about brothers. Even during an argument a brother doesn't stop being a brother." though honestly he was rather relieved. He didn't know Medoh all that well and had been just hoping the divine beasts being siblings was more then just a label. Then remembering the tiny but priceless object in his hands Yunobo said "Excuse me. I kind of want to stay and chat but....I need to return this...and finish the food I left to come here."

Rudania had no objection to that. He didn't want Yunobo to miss out on refueling himself over this dumb little moment. Now he kind of more legitimately regretted how much of a t.urd he'd been. He HAD started the fight. And not only had he needlessly made his brother mad but he had also interrupted his goron from something important to his health. He decided that maybe being bored wasn't a reason to try to get a reaction out of someone. A lesson Rudania was not guaranteed to remember indefinitely but one that would keep him out of trouble for at least a little while.

Yunobo didn't know if he should roll with the slate in his hands so he just started walking....on his short little Goron legs.

Zelda noted the little flying objects that were Rudania's drones come down from the sky and said "Naboris probably could've handled it but I think this was a great exercise for them. Diplomacy is a big part of dealing with divine beasts. One has to both be able to prevent problems from the beast and prevent problems involving people reacting to the beast. It's great to see Yunobo and Teba taking initiative then successfully helping to break up a fight like this."

Link said "And to think....Yunobo's scared of monsters. The irony grows. I should probably go meet him halfway to walk back with him. Wouldn't want him getting frozen in fear because he heard a stick crack. And I'm not trying to make fun of Yunobo by the way. That's actually a possibility. He's been known to put up his shield and cover his eyes when he gets scared."

((Good excuse for the disguised Yigga to offer to meet instead or to go with if she has any more questions. Or she could make an attempt to get the sheikah slate from him and Yunobo ends up not giving it just because he thinks he should probubly hand it back to Zelda spesificly (He had after all watched Zelda ban even Link from having it and is super paranoid about loosing it so....). If not though just let Link handle it. ))

‡ Teba ‡

Teba just sort of.. kept by Medoh for a while. He could only see what was happening down below and his connection with Medoh wasn't strong enough to pick up on conversational cues yet. He actually HAD gotten a little bit of what Medoh said directly to him. At least.. he thought he did. He figured it was safe to assume he had and set his mind on zeroing in on that feeling the next time this happened. Right now though he felt it best just to keep an eye on Medoh and get used to simply flying near him.

¥ Zeraena ¥

Zeraena mildly arched an eyebrow at Zelda's speech about democracy or whatever. It was extremely difficult for her to take this. She loathed Zelda with every fiber of her being.

When Link mentioned walking Yunobo back, this gave her an idea both to get Yunobo alone again and to also have an excuse to not be literally surrounded by the enemy at the moment. She quickly stepped up and told Link "Oh, nono! You shouldn't have to do that. I mean. I can handle it, y'know, since I'm here. Might as well make myself useful, right? I mean.. you're Link. I don't even know why I'M here. It's not like I'M some important person. Eheh..." she rambled awkwardly, sort of going for a 'omgosh am surrounded by celebraties what do I do' sort of vibe. She was already walking towards Yunobo as she said all of this, backpedalling once she got ahead of them. "I'll go and walk him back! You can do your important stuff!" she called once she got far enough away, and eventually turned and trotted out to meet Yunobo anyways. She'd played it in such a way that Link didn't really have time to disagree before she was already going. Because that's how she rolls.

Once she met up with Yunobo, she vaguely said "Hey! Zelda just sent me and all. You know how it is." sort of not wanting to go through the whole explanation again.

Rudania for lack of much to do but watch things noted that a Rito was up near Medoh. [Is that one yours? That one's yours isn't he. That's why he's flying so close. You should practice talking to him! It might be a bit h.arder then what Yunobo and I did because he won't automatically know he's suppose to be practicing but if he DOES catch on it'll be super helpful!]

Rudania had pretty good eyes too. Maybe not as good as Medoh's but all the divine beasts had crazy robot vision of some sort. He could at least make out that there was a white Rito up there. Rudania was tempted to re-release a drone to ACTUALLY get a better look at something (in this case Teba) but he didn't want Medoh to think he was going back on his apology. He didn't want Naboris to think he was going back on his apology eather. So he kept his drones to himself for now.

Link was someone who when not really given a choice sort of shrugged things off and went "Well...ok then." so he didn't try to follow and even decided to shrug and start heading back to the food. Zelda was a little iffy given the sheikah slate was in Yunobo's hands so while she didn't follow she stayed where she was to wait.

Yunobo said "...You're that person I bumped into in the halls. Goro. Again...sorry about that. ...What are you here for?"

Jessa sighed and glanced between Link and Zelda, wondering if she should go after Yunobo and keep an eye on him, or hang back and wait for Grumf and Floofy. Trixie didn't seem too keen on meeting up with that girl again. Odd, that wasn't like Trixie at all. Jessa knelt, rubbing the fox between the ears.

"Hey, what's up Trix? Is something wrong? Does she smell funky or something?" Jessa asked, earning a light growl from the fox at the last question. She took that as a yes. She glanced up at Link and Zelda.

"Should I be worried that Trixie didn't immediately want to make friends with that guard?" She asked Link, considering he probably knew as much about animal behavior as she did, maybe more anyways.

Given Link was already heading back towards the castle to return to his food Zelda said "I do not know. It's not my fox. Personally I do not think you should attack them or anything like that. After all, who knows what the animal doesn't like. She might just be wearing something that quite literally smells bad to Trixie or something. I know Link would probably say to keep an eye out just in case even if I think it's a little silly and I suppose there's no harm in it. I myself am not following Link to insure that slate doesn't get lost. If you do investigate closer, don't approach assuming bad though. Assuming someone's bad can make you see bad where it isn't and can lead to false accusations. Watch for it but don't wait for it. You know what I mean?"

Jessa nodded, agreeing with the Queen's words.

"Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Trixie might've just smelled something she didn't like on her. She always was picky when it came to scent. For some reason, she always turned her nose up when we made banana's foster back in Kakariko. It was a popular summer dessert. Though she enjoys simmered apples or even candied apples as a treat." Jessa commented, walking with the Queen. She couldn't believe how well she was getting along with Zelda and Link. She couldn't wait to tell her family. Her mom would be so jealous. She made a mental note to ask Zelda that if the next time she had to come to the palace if she could bring her mother with her. She sensed Naboris chuckle at that.

[Hush you, it's not like you remember your parents. You act like a mom to those brothers of yours. So does Ruta for that matter. Anyways, have you heard from her about Sidon? I didn't see him leave.] Jessa asked the Divine Beast telepathically.

[Ruta says that Sidon had to return home to deal with a political issue. Nothing serious, just something to do with a trade route. He didn't want to worry Zelda so he left a note with one of the guards. She told me to tell you. She seems to believe that Sidon has a crush on you.] Naboris replied, earning a blush from Jessa that she prayed Zelda didn't see as she regained her composure.

Zelda went off on a tangent while Jessa thought spoke with Naboris. "A fun little fact that you may or may not know but talking of bananas reminded me of it. According to historical documents the ancient sheikah from around the time the beasts were built loved bananas to an almost scary degree. The Yiga clan holds on to that so strongly that unfortunately it ruined it for the sheikah for a while. There is of course nothing at all wrong with loving bananas and I'm glad to hear that people have not allowed the Yiga clan's association to keep that fruit ruined. People shouldn't have to avoid a food just because a nasty group likes it. Espessully one as nice and practical as a banana."

Perhaps the g.ods were feeling mischievous that day. Zelda did notice the blush. She asked "What's with the look?"

((Sheikah banana fact based on a h.ard to find Easter egg. I did not make that up even though there is fan theory related to the full story. Just found it really funny.))

Jessa blushed again, glancing over at Zelda. Of course she was the one to notice her turn red in the first place.

"Sorry, just something that Naboris said about Sidon and Ruta. I won't repeat it. But you should know that Sidon had to leave for a diplomatic thing back in Zora territory, something about a trade route. Should be something he can handle. He left a note with one of the guards, just to let you know. Naboris got the heads up from Ruta a few minutes ago." Jessa reported, Trixie giving her a "Yeah, right, about Sidon? Seriously?" look before trotting ahead to catch up with Link.

Zelda ((Who is not heading back by the way though I don't think it's impossible that she may have followed Jessa a few steps before she turns around to continue keeping an eye on things. Link headed off but Zelda had decided to stay where she was so when Jessa follows much further assume the character available to talk to will switch)) said "I WAS wondering where Sidon went. In fact I had sort of assumed that he had gone off exploring. He seemed like the sort who might want to look around. It's good to know I won't have to worry though I kind of wish that guard would have found me before I asked the cooks to make the food. They have now made two extra dishes that are unnecessary with that bird causing one of them to have to be made twice. Oh well. That's how things fall sometimes. I'll just let Link keep the leftovers or something."

Link (Still in visible view) looked down towards Trixie with a smile. He liked animals so he seemed to get an extra bounce in his step as he walked.

Zeraena was about to tell him the reason that Link had given when he was about to go join Yunobo, but then a realization struck her that she had the perfect opportunity to nab the sheikah slate right now. In fact, if she got it, she wouldn't even have to blow her cover to run away with it. She could just teleport using the slate itself and later claim it was an accident in the off chance that they somehow found her. It was way too perfect of an opportunity to pass up.

"Oh, I just thought I'd help you get back to the castle by bringing the sheikah slate back to Queen Zelda for you. I mean... not to be rude but... you look like you'd much rather be rolling right now, if you know what I mean." she told Yunobo, giving a tiny gesture at his legs (which really did look way too small for him. They were comparable to maybe a bigger hylian's which is way smaller in proportion to the rest of him.)

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

Vah Medoh confirmed [Yes. This is my chosen champion. His name is Teba. HE has a kid. ....And I will admit I haven't been trying to talk to him as often as I should. But you know how that process is. It can get very tedious. And this isn't anything at ALL like last time. Revali was really REALLY invested in 'mastering' being a Divine Beast rider. I hardly ever had to start conversations myself. And when I did we were already far enough along for Revali to hear me just fine.] he told Rudania. Then after a few moments, curiosity DID start to peck at him. So he turned his head very slightly in an attempt to let Teba know he was focusing on him, and sent very specifically towards Teba [Hey Teba.]

Teba was staring at him, but he had been doing that before he'd tried communicating. So Medoh tried further. [Teba. Tebaaaaa. Teba Teba Teba. Hey. Hey. Teba. Hey Teba. HEY. TEBA. HEY TEBA. TEBA? TEBA?? Teba. Teba... Teeebbaaaaaa...]

Eventually this apparently got through to the Rito, as the birdman finally seemed to summon the courage to ask "Are you doing that? Is that you? I hear my name being called."

Medoh nodded his head as this was one of the motions he was more capable of doing and sent [YES] at Teba while he did this.

Teba calmly asked "Do you need me to do something, Medoh?"

Medoh didn't quite know how to respond to this in a simple way for a few moments, before sending [No Teba. No. No. No no no. No. Teba no. No no no no no no no.]

And, to keep in mind, the repeating was simply to get it through. Teba DID seem to get the message and calmly said "Well... okay." and then nothing else.

Medoh didn't know how to deal with this. And he decided to let Rudania know. [See?? I've got nothing for this guy! I used to wish Revali wouldn't talk so much sometimes. Now I'd give anything for another chatterbox. I don't know how to deal with THIS.]

Yunobo said "That's nice but....I think I'd rather take it to her myself. Well, no....you're right. Goro. I would rather roll but I think I SHOULD take it to her myself. Goro. It's not that I don't trust you or anything just....apparently she can get touchy with even Link having it. So....I don't want her getting mad at me. Goro."

Rudania laughed and sent [Sorry. I shouldn't laugh. It's just....I had that exact problem before coming here. Yunobo had no idea I was trying to talk to him and it was SOOOO frustrating. Maybe you should flat out try telling him to talk to you. Just a big blunt "Talk to me!"]

Zeraena bit her tongue, actually contemplating trying to muscle the slate away from Yunobo as she was the type to do that. However she knew she couldn't out-muscle a Goron no matter how hard she tried, and even if she had the element of surprise, the success rate was still too low for her to bother risking it.

So she calmly said "Oh, that's okay. Really, it is. I just thought I'd offer while I'm out here. I guess I'll just walk you back now. Not like I don't trust you or anything, it's just my job." and waited a few seconds before asking "So Zelda sent for you and those other guys too, because she thinks you'll be good masters over the Divine Beasts, huh?"

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

Vah Medoh skeptically thought about this for several moments, before telling Rudania [No offense, but I don't think Teba would respond well to that. Not like I'm saying anything about Yunobo. Yunobo said "Er....actually I think it was more a she wanted to meet the friends of her friends thing. Goro. Rudania's the one who initiated it with me and from the sound of it that's sort of how it was for most if not all of the others too."

Rudania sent [No. Yunobo thought he should practice things after finding out conversation was an option. I'm sort of just throwing out any idea I can. .....Maybe I can ask Yunobo to tell Teba he needs to practice talking to you. He'd only be able to do it next time they meet each other sure but it's something.]

Rudania did not know Yunobo had already suggested that just by chance of not happening to pick it up.

"Zelda is friends with the Divine Beasts..?" Zeraena slowly echoed, unable to contain her skepticism so it ended up leaking a bit into her tone.

Medoh unfortunately hadn't picked up on that earlier conversation between Yunobo and Teba too so he just sent [Yes. That would be very helpful to me.]

‡ Teba ‡

Teba was in all actuallity just blanking on what to talk about just as bad as Medoh was. Talking about Revali had crossed his mind several times, but it's not like you normally approach someone you're considering as a new friend and say 'Hey, what was your old now d.ead best friend like? Y'know, when he was still alive?' so he didn't want to do that. Outside of that topic he was just blank. He decided it would probably be a better idea to do this later, anyways, since he'd originally come out here to assist with a Divine Beast sibling quarrel. So.. he continued to fly by Medoh for a few more minutes before asking "So... have you resolved your conflict with Rudania?"

It took a moment or so but he heard a very faint 'yes' in the back of his head. He took that as Medoh and not some random thought. "Alright then. I suppose I should be heading back down to the castle now." he said, and with that he pulled into a dive and headed back towards Hyrule Castle to finish breakfast.

Medoh watched him go, before sending Rudania [Annnd there he goes. Well. At least I only had to repeat myself 6 times that time.]

Yunobo said "Goro. Why wouldn't she be? She was friends with their champions. They had to at least-" he paused as Rudania sent [Medoh would like me to ask you to tell Teba to practice talking to him at some point!]

Yunobo flinched as Rudania had sent the message really strong (basically mental yelling in the hopes of not having to repeat himself). Glad it didn't seem possible to go deaf in one's brain Yunobo looked back towards Rudania (who being a divine beast was still visible even though he and the random guard he was with had walked a ways already) and gave Rudania a thumbs up not wanting to turn around, walk over there then have to turn back around to start again. Once the full ridiculousness hit him he then laughed and told the guard "Sorry. Goro. You know those times when someone tells you he said she said? Well, Rudania just told me that Medoh asked him to ask me to tell Teba that Medoh wants to talk to him. Goro. That has to have more turns then any request I've got from anybody before."

Jessa of the Sheikah/Gerudo

Jessa glanced back at Zelda, then over towards where the others were starting to gather.

"You know, from the sounds of things, it seems like Rudania and Medoh have resolved things. I don't hear Naboris yelling at them anymore. Sometimes she'll let me listen in on her conversations with the other divine beasts. I can sometimes hear their part of it, but usually she tells me what they're saying. This was one of those times. Personally, I like being able to listen in on what they were saying. I don't know if you can do it, but she told me that sometimes friends of the Divine Beasts and their handlers could listen in on them. I'm not very good at it myself, but I do enjoy using Naboris to talk to Ruta sometiems. She's really nice. Naboris seems to be the peacekeeper of the group while Ruta's the mother figure." Jessa told Zelda, watching Trixie out of the corner of her eye to keep watch on her behavior. She seemed pretty relaxed with Link and the two Goron they had made friends with. She was considering having Trixie help Grumf get used to be around here and to help Floofy get used to being around small animals.

-Time jump-

Everybody was soon able to return to business. Yunobo (after making it to the castle) told Teba that apparently Medoh was on the same page on the Teba needing to practice talking to him thing. The food was able to be finished without any trouble and even though it was morning Grumf went to bed for a few hours interrupted by having to stop Floofy from being a problem. Over the course of the time it took for Naboris to show up Grumf and Jessa were able to get Floofy to stop looking at Trixie like she was food to the extent that Grumf was no longer worried when they were together. The fact that Trixie didn't act like prey helped quite a bit. Floofy was at first confused but eventually even started to return the play Trixie offered.

Where one Floofy related problem went down another got worse. Rudania continued to refuse to admit that the bird was not evil and his apparent noises of threat towards Floofy the bird took as a challenge. Grumf was barely able to stop the fights with Yunobo's help after Floofy would literally poke or land on Rudania and throw the beast into a fit like he thought Floofy had some sort of disease. Rudania didn't actually like Jessa's stallhorse much better but was more subdued in his dislike to avoid making Naboris mad. (Well...that and the horse didn't actively try to touch him)

After the third time Floofy did this Grumf didn't let the bird leave his side.

Both disguised Yiga clansmen would gather all they needed and would be about ready to leave when everyone else would do so later. ((Icee. You can choose how much extra info yours knows. I'll have Draiil learn random things and I don't care how much the Yiga learn as they'll just assume bad of any info that would make a less crazy person wonder if they were in the wrong anyway))

Teba ~ Male ~ Rito & Medoh & Zeraena

‡ Teba ‡

The next few following days Teba mostly spent working on building his connection with Medoh as well as conversing with the other riders for pointers at the start of it. It became easier the more he focused on it and they both benefited from actually focusing on building their link. They were actually able to communicate with eachother rather than having an awkward divide like before and Teba warmed up to Medoh rather quickly once he got used to the concept of the Divine Beast being something you can talk with.

Teba decided to leave a little earlier than everyone else simply because he had a family waiting for him and he felt he needed to explain to the village why Vah Medoh had disappeared. So he bid his goodbyes and flew back to Rito Village. Medoh told him that he would be staying back to see Naboris while she was at the castle, and he agreed to this.

So, Vah Medoh remained at the castle while Naboris was there while Teba had left shortly after Naboris had arrived.

¥ Zeraena ¥

Zeraena had been very skeptical of Yunobo as she'd walked with him back to Zelda, but over the course of the next few days it DID seem like these 'champions' were capable of mentally communicating with the Divine Beasts. She still felt like there was something rotten in Lanayru but at the moment everyone's stories didn't hint as to what that was exactly. She made a point of questioning Draiil on what he had learned each night and eventually just... started getting bored with this assignment. While she's very eager to impress her superiors she also does not tend to have a very long attention span. So as things went on and seemed... as normal as this situation could be, and there was no action, she sort of stopped putting as much effort as she had been putting into it initially.

When the two Yiga found a spot to talk Draiil noted "The second of those champions in training has left the party apparently though his beast is still here. .....I wonder if the party is finally starting to break up or if there's more to watch. Pretty sure I saw Naboris in the distance coming this way. I kind of hope she's just here to take that Jessa girl home. .....Unrelated note. I talked to that Yunobo kid some time after you did. He denied being a champion which is...weird. How can you be linked to a divine beast and not be a champion? Maybe he's just over modest and didn't want to take the title YET?"

Zeraena shrugged, yawning. "I don't know. I think he's just slow. I don't really consider anything he's said to be all that reliable. I'd have to think they're going back to their homes soon. I mean, like you said, that one guy already left. There was a Zora champion-in-training here too and he left a few days ago. I don't know about you but it seems like things are winding down. Can't wait to get out of here. I'm stiff from being all tense and rigid all the time. Not because this is stressful, mind you, but just because guards ALWAYS looks tense and rigid. At least the non-slacker ones anyways." she replied.

Draiil snorted "Gorons almost always seem a little slow. That's how most of their race is. Though, I am half inclined to believe Zelda somehow pulled something behind everybody's backs. From what I heard it seems like most of them didn't come believing Zelda set this up. But....that goron and that gerudo/sheikah hybrid are freaking CHILDREN! Even if I'm wrong about Jessa then the goron still 100% counts! Does that bother you at all? It bothers me! Children are not fit to master a divine beast! It's almost insulting!"

Zeraena snorted. "I bet the goron kid is only here because he's a descendant of the LAST champion. I think the only thing that makes him qualified is that he's got that shield-magic Daruk apparently also had. I don't know what the excuse for Jessa is though. Maybe it's because she's half sheikah, I don't know. I think you're on to something about that Zelda pulling something behind their backs thing, though. That would make more sense than they all just being in on whatever scheme she's plotting." she replied.

Jessa of the Sheikah/Gerudo

Jessa was sitting on a fountain out in the courtyard of a palace. She was writing a coded letter to her mother - one to her father too. They insisted on a combination of the Sheikah and Gerudo languages, just in case the letters were intercepted. The combination was a good way to have privacy. She was writing about her new friends, including Sidon, Teba, Grumf, Floofy and Yunobo. And of course Link and Zelda. It would be there before she was.

[Naboris, how soon until you get to the palace?] Jessa asked after a bit, taking a break from her writing to talk to her Divine Beast.

[By this afternoon. I'm looking forward to meeting your friend Grumf. And it appears Trixie has made a new friend.] Naboris commented, promting Jessa to look over to another part of the courtyard. Trixie of course was trying to teach Floofy how to play "tug of war" with a scrap towel rope that one of the Rito servants made for her. All the staff found Trixie adorable. And they seemed to tolerate Floofy more now that she was playing with him.

"Floofy! You be nice to Trixie now, got it?" Jessa called over, seeing the bird playing a bit rough with her fox. Trixie yipped happily, The Fox was having a little fun, but she could tell the bird wanted to go all out like she'd seen him do with Grumf. He was a real sweetheart once you got him to calm down though. Grumf was nearby of course, but she still liked to keep an eye on her fox.

Naboris chuckled in the girl's mind. [I think that bird is ignoring you. Or at least pretending not to hear you at the minimum.] The Divine Beast commented, watching through Jessa's eyes as the fox played, something Nabrois enjoyed watching more often than not. She found the interaction between organics and animals amusing. At least that's how Jessa interpreted the feelings she got from the Divine Beast.

Grumf the Goron and Floofy the shadow kargarok

Grumf just happened to look over Jessa's shoulder during a passing glance. Then he looked again on purpose. "Is that what this world's version of writting looks like? I thought it would be just like what's home." not really use to Gerudo or Sheikah spesific parts.

Floofy just continued his thing with Trixie in the background.

Jessa smiled, looking over her shoulder at Grumf. She'd taken a shine to the Goron, which was rare for the introverted hybrid girl. Her beads clinked as she clicked her ink filling pen closed.

"I'm not sure what your writing's like, but this is the Gerudo and Sheikah langauge. My parents insist on writing everything in codes. Better safe than sorry with the Yiga clan causing trouble out there. I figure that way if they can't read it, all the better. Oh and Naboris says that she'll be here in a few hours. She's looking forward to meeting you." She told Grumf, then got an idea. "I can teach you if you're interested in learning." She offered, hearing the familiar call of her camel like Divine Beast. She rolled her eyes.

[Got here sooner than expected.] Naboris apologized, earning a laugh from Jessa.

[So we noticed. Do you have to show off every time?] Jessa asked

[What? When you're as big as I am, you have to show off a litte.] Naboris pointed out, earning a laugh from the girl.

"Naboris likes showing off. She's a real sweetheart once you get to know her." Jessa apologized, getting up from her spot on the edge of the fountain. "TRIXIE!" Jessa called and the fox bounded over to her, the torn end of the cloth rope toy in her mouth. She wagged her tail as if to say "Floofy won, but I got the toy!" earning a scratch behind the ear.

"Ready to officially meet your first Divine Beast?" She asked, grinning at her Goron friend

Grumf playfully said "I assume by that you mean....meet on friendly terms." as he called Floofy over since they were about to follow Jessa and Grumf was still keeping the bird as close to him as possible to prevent him running off to poke Rudania.

Meanwhile Rudania sent [NABORIS IS HERE!!!!] to Yunobo jolting him from whatever it is he had been doing. (Exploring the castle honestly. He'd looked around quite a lot over the time it took for Naboris to make it there.)

Yunobo thought [You're giving me a headache Rudania.] and earned a [Sorry! I'm just exited.] from the lizard.

It was because of Naboris that Rudania and Yunobo hadn't gone home yet. They both wanted to meet her and Rudania flat out refused to leave without catching up a bit. It had been a long time since he had got to see Naboris face to face.

[Well, it's good to see you too Rudania. I'm glad to see you're getting along with Garuk's descendant.] Naboris commented, seeming to smile as Jessa laughed at Grumf's joke.

"Naboris has a door in her side. She'll have to couch for us to get in. It's something camels do so people can mount them by the way. Though, she prefers the term "crouch" over "couch" to be perfectly honest." Jessa explained, gesturing up to the Divine Beast as they left the castle courtyard, Trixie bounding ahead of them to greet Naboris.

[Hello Trixie.] Naboris greeted the fox before turning her mind to Jessa. [I assume since it's daylight hours, Maxilar is asleep in his usual pile of dirt?] The Divine Beast asked, going into the camel couch position to give the hybrid and her goron friend access if they so desired.

[Duh, anyways, is it ok if I bring Grumf and Floofy onboard? They want to explore a little bit.] Jessa replied, smiling up at her friend as Naboris seemed to nod her head.

[Of course. They are more than welcome to explore my halls. As long as Floofy doesn't do his "business" inside, or he can use Trixie's litter box if needed for emergency. I will not have bird po.op in my halls. And they should stay out of the power room. I don't want that bird accidentally...how do you Hylians say it? "Deep fried" I believe the term is.] Naboris replied and Jessa laughed, translating for Grumf's benifit.

"Naboris says you can come aboard, but Floofy has to either use Trixie's emergency litter box or do his business outside before he comes on. She doesn't want bird po.op in her halls." Jessa told Grumf, smiling at the Goron. "She also says that you need to stay out of the power room. She doesn't want you or Floofy getting "deep fried" by accident. Her words, not mine." She added, giving the Divine Beast an approving look. She was starting to pick up on Hylian slang

Rudania told Naboris [You'll like Yunobo too. He's adorable! Daruk apparently had adorable in him somewhere.]

Yunobo....picked that up but decided not to comment on it. He sort of was feeling like a child's new pet listening while said child showed him off. Probably weirder then that feeling though was the fact that he wasn't sure he actually minded or not.

Grumf said "Couch? Hahahaha! Sorry. Funny term for crouching. So she's really just going to let us in there huh? Wow. I'll try not to do anything rude or something. You might want to point out the dangerous room so I can keep Floofy away from it." he got the emergency bird diaper out and put it on the kargarok (much to Floofy's annoyance).

Yunobo came over with Link and Zelda (who he had bumped into and had decided to follow him since they were going the same direction anyway). Yunobo tryed not to stare at Naboris though it was impossible as she was SO tall it kind of left him dumb for a moment before he looked over to Rudania and noted "She's taller then you!" in sheer amazement (which he could tell even though Naboris was lower then usual because he could see that her legs were foulded and her head was still higher then Rudania's head while she sat there).

Rudania told him [It's mostly cuz of her legs and neck.] for the divine beasts were generally the same size but did have different heights because of their different shapes.

Zelda politely let the introductions go without interrupting and was honestly having fun watching the other's reactions. She remembered seeing each of the divine beasts for the first time. How she would go over thinking she was prepared but was kind of blown away every time as you couldn't really prepare yourself for the appearance of any of them even if you had met one or more before. They were each strange and impressive in their own way. Every one of them a breathtaking feat of engineering.

Link however waved and loudly said "HIIIIII NABORIS!" because he was just as much a child as Rudania sometimes. He might not have been as close to Naboris as Rudania or even as close as Zelda, Urbosa or Jessa but that didn't mean he wasn't about to greet like a friend.

Jessa had to laugh at Link's antics as Naboris did the same, making a laughing noise that sounded like a forest in a storm.

[Tell Link I can hear him just fine. He doesn't need to shout.] Naboris told Jessa, earning a laugh from the girl as she relayed the message.

"Hey Link, Naboris says you can speak normally. She doesn't need you to shout. She can hear just fine." Jessa reported, smiling at the others. Naboris seemed to be looking down at them.

[Tell your friends that anyone interested is welcome to come aboard and explore if they desire. I don't mind. Link's been aboard before so maybe he can keep that Shadow Kagarock out of the power room.] Naboris told Jessa, still seated in her couch like position. Jessa faithfully relayed Naboris's message for the others.

"Naboris says to let you guys know that anyone who's interested in exploring is welcome aboard as long as they stay out of the power room. Oh and she remembers you by the way Link, from when you saved her from the Malice." Jessa relayed, glad Naboris was so willing to let others besides her explore her halls. Jessa was eager to show them how she used what was an old sleep chamber for the pilot to make her own little space within Naboris that could also accomodate her animals, especially her Stallhorse. She also made a mental note to ask Grumf about that "sunlight proofing spell" his Zelda used to protect Floofy. She wondered if it would work on a Stallhorse

Link said "That malice stuff was so gross. I don't know if I'd forget it even if I was put back in the shrine of resurrection for another 100 years. I bet she feels a lot better now that it's gone." he had no hesitation going in Naboris wanting to see how much better things looked now. Zelda also had no hesitation ether though she waited for the clearly eager Grumf to finish putting the diaper on Floofy so the goron could go first. She did not want to crowd the entry way. Grumf tried to get Floofy to follow him and....the bird did but not before darting to b.oop Rudania on the nose and then dart into Naboris to avoid the repercussions.

Rudania let out a roar of rage that then turned into him acting like Floofy had cooties or something. [AAAAARRG! IT TOUCHED ME! IT TOUCHED ME AGAIN! EWWWW!] he sent backing up so he could safely (as in... without worry about crushing anybody) and over dramatically wipe his face against the ground.

When Grumf did enter Naboris he did so yelling a "WHY FLOOFY! WHY!" immediately going to look for his bird because Floofy had gone for a window rather then the door and because of Naboris/Jessa's warning Grumf knew there was a dangerous room somewhere he needed to make sure Floofy didn't go near.

Yunobo meanwhile stared at Rudania wondering how all the grass and dirt that just got ripped up was suppose to make the beast's face cleaner. He also wondered if he would have to clean that now. Something he was willing to do but....that didn't mean it wasn't a huge hassle. Yunobo kind of hoped it would just burn off when they went home or something.

Jessa couldn't help but laugh when she saw the way Rudania reacted to Floffy booping him on the nose like he did just now. Naboris also seemed to be laughing as well judging from that crunching tree noise of hers.

[HAHAHAHAH! Oh Rudania, really? He's a sweetheart! I find him rather amusing.] Naboris teased, making Jessa laugh harder until she was doubled over.

"OH MY HYLIA! THIS IS TOO MUCH! Who knew Divine Beasts could be so funny?!" Jessa commented, watching the two of them interact with Floofy. The big camel didn't seem to mind having the shadow kagarock land on her head or anything like that. Rudania seemed to think that he had the animal equivalent of cooties or something. She glanced back at the others as she recovered from her laughing fit.

"Sorry, I was listening in through Naboris. She finds Floofy amusing and even called him a sweetheart. Her words, not mine." Jessa told Grumf, smiling at the Goron.

[Tell Grumf that I think the idea of an emergency bird diaper is adorable by the way.] Naboris told Jessa, sensing her human listening in on her conversation with Rudania.

[Can do Naboris.] Jessa replied, glancing back at her friends.

"Naboris says to tell you that she thinks the emergency bird diaper idea is adorable by the way." Jessa reported, smiling at Grumf.

Rudania told Naboris [YOU'RE not the one he keeps poking with his evil scent! But if you still think he's adorable after a while you and Jessa can keep him for all I care.]

Meanwhile Link told Jessa "I knew they could be funny." with a mischievous grin.

Zelda snorted at him but kind of agreed. She was still kind of at the back of the group (still trying not to crowd) while Link was following Grumf into that one big room where the sections of the room could rotate. Floofy was found on one of the platforms in there and Grumf was quite glad of that ((I'll just take the head thing as instructions of how I should expect Naboris to react when Floofy does that as he totally will. My own pet bird lands on my head so...)). Having found his buddy he was able to put some real attention on what else Jessa was saying. He replied "I like your big friend's sense of humor. Seriously though. As funny as the diaper is I came up with it for a reason. I mean, I've had to take him into fancy places before and birds are not actually that easy to p.otty train. Eventually I was just like eh, s.crew it and kept a diaper for if there was somewhere he ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT do it in. He's better now then he was when I invented the kargarok diaper but I still keep one on hand just in case. Question though. Have you two been talking about us for her to think Floofy is sweet already? If so I'm flattered because clearly you've been telling her good things."

Still not having left the field yet because of the Rudania shenanigans Yunobo pointed out "Goro. Hey uh...Rudania. You've got some mud on your..." he sort of pointed to his own cheek as a gesture. Rudania ran a front foot/paw along the side of his head in an attempt to wipe it but really all this did was make a horrible loud scraping noise that Yunobo couldn't help but cringe at. Yunobo then changed his tune saying "You know what? It's not that bad. Goro. I'll help you with it later." then he sort of walked over and peaked through Naboris' doorway.

Rudania told Naboris [Give him a minute. He's a little shy.] which wasn't 100% accurate as anxious and worried about insulting even when it was unnecessary would probably be more correct for describing Yunobo but yeah. Hearing Rudania flat out say it still made Yunobo feel awkward though. [Was it that obvious?] the Goron boy couldn't help but think.

[Yes.] Rudania replied earning a "I DID NOT MEAN TO SEND THAT!" from Yunobo.

Zeraena gave a 'tch', slowly shaking her head. "I bet Zelda chose him just because he's gullible. And... y'know. Nepotism. The kid's just the sort of goody two-shoes who would unquestioningly listen to her every word. He's an easy target." she said.

Medoh calmly circled above everything, allowing Rudania to get out his fair share of stories and such, before sending (when he felt that Rudania had that stage long enough) [Hi Naboris. It's been ages since we last talked. Liiikke.... a few days, to be precise.]

Jessa smiled as she walked into the familiar mechanical halls with Grumf, seeing the shadow kagarock perched on one of the platforms in the room with moving parts. She rolled her eyes as Trixie darted ahead to pull out her favorite toys so she and Floofy could play more.

"That, and she's been watching Trixie play with him through my eyes. Like me, Naboris sort of uses Trixie as a living trouble detector. If Trixie likes someone, that's usually good enough for her." She clarified, earning a rumbling chuckle from Naboris that sort of shook the room a little. She heard her friend speaking to Rudania in her mind. She liked to listen in sometimes.

[Good for you, Rudania. Have you been working on communicating with your own partner? It seems that young Yunobo is still having a little difficulty underestanding you.] Naboris told the younger Divine Beast. If Naboris wanted it private, she'd taught Jessa how to block out their words if they needed to, or Naboris could do the same to her easily. It was a good thing the Sheikah also insisted on teaching mental control. Her father Shima made her learn when she was younger. She'd always been quite adept at keeping thoughts to herself, being the natural slight introvert that she was. But ever since she'd become friends with Naboris, she'd been feeling more comfortable getting open minded with people. That's why it was so easy for her to trust Link and the others.

Grumf had to brace himself for a moment when Naboris chuckled. It's not so much that he wasn't use to shaking ground (he came from a volcano after all) but just that it was a weird situation. After the fact he turned to Jessa and said "Ok. I gotta ask. What is that? That noise? Is that how Naboris laughs?"

Floofy meanwhile sort of looked startled for a moment and flapped his wings a few times before realizing whatever that had been hadn't been a problem and so he started preening himself.

To the question directed at him Rudania confirmed [I couldn't talk to him at all just a couple days ago. I think that's great progress.] before looking down at the boy and telling him [Yunobo. Out or in. Stop standing at my sister's door frozen in whatever weird mental struggle you have going on right now. It's rude to make a divine beast expose their door for longer then necessary.]

"SORRY! Sorry. My bad." Yunobo blurted finally going in.

Rudania told Naboris [It's like he buffers sometimes. Can little people do that? Is that a thing that happens?]

When Yunobo joined the rest of the group he gave a quite "Huh. Goro. Not really all that much like Rudania other then the sheikah tec look. I wonder if they're all that different. Goro."

Jessa nodded in response to Grumf's question when Naboris laughed.

"Yeah, she has a sense of humor. That rumble was her laugh. It sort of sounds like trees in a high wind in my opinion. Not sure about you guys though." Jessa confirmed as she heard Naboris speak to Rudania again.

[Well, I like to respect my partner's mental privacy. Sometimes they can do it naturally, which sounds like the case with Yunobo and Jessa. She learned quickly how to block me out when she didn't want to let me hear something personal that she was thinking about. I presume that Yunobo is doing the same to you without realizing it.] Naboris told Rudania, letting the others explore her halls.

[Jessa, be a dear and let the others know I need to stand in a few minutes. I can't crouch like this all day. It strains my joints sometimes.] Naboris asked once Yunobo was inside as Jessa heard the Goron comment on the construction.

[Sure thing Naboris.] Jessa replied before turning her attention to the others.

"Sorry, Naboris just wanted me to let you guys know that she needs to stand up. She doesn't like crouching for too long. She says it does something to strain her joints. She wanted to give you the heads up." Jessa reported, glancing at Link and Zelda as well as the two Goron

Rudania agreed [Yeeaah. I'm pretty sure Yunobo was blocking me because he didn't even know it was me talking and that freaked him out. Poor boy. Though, now that he does know he's having the opposite problem. He's started sending me things when he doesn't mean to. It's like he over compensated.]

Link asked "Is that more of a we need to hurry in our looking around and be out of here in a few minute or is it more of a g.rab something because she's about to stand warning?"

"More of a "grab something because she needs to stand NOW" warning. I had to nail down my furniture and put glass doors on the shelves to keep the books and nick nacks from falling whenever she did that. Speaking of which, she usually tells me if I'm awake to let me know. My bed is pretty secure though." Jessa replied, going over to a nearby hand hold she'd installed. With Naboris's permission of course.

"I have handholds like these scattered all over the place. They're strong enough to hold a Goron. Go ahead and use whatever you can grab. Usually when Naboris gives me a warning like that, it's a five minute heads up. Just enough time for me to grab something and for Trixie and Maxilar to secure themselves too." She advised, gripping the handhold as Trixie wedged herself into a little nook not far from where she was standing with a little yip.

Yunobo g.rabbed something and put up his shield for good measure. Link taking a spot near Yunobo told him "I don't think this'll be as bad as some of the stuff Rudania does." having ridden Rudania in the past and knowing exactly what that was like.

Yunobo said "I'm still using Daruk's protection anyway. Goro. It'd be just my luck to somehow loose my grip and go rolling across the room."

Grumf called "Floofy! Brace yourself!" before doing so himself. The kargarok gave a curious honk and c.ocked his head sideways (not that it was easy to tell). He didn't understand his rider's exact words but he picked up the warning in his tone and so soon took on a stance like he was ready for something even if he didn't know what.

Zelda was probably the calmest about it in second place only to Jessa as she also g.rabbed a hold of something.

"THAT'S what makes it doubly insulting. They call US outlaws and crooks even though their so-called 'ruler' is crooked herself. She's so crooked that she's using a kid to do whatever dirty work it is she's planning on doing with these new beast riders." Zeraena replied.

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

Vah Medoh felt like Rudania was claiming more credit for it than he actually had contributed, but he decided not to point that out. He simply said [Teba has opened up quite well after he knew to. He warmed up to it just as quickly as Revali had. I knew I'd picked a good one.] as he wanted to brag about Teba just as much as Rudania wanted to brag about Yunobo.

Zeraena rubbed her chin. "I honestly have no idea. I wonder if she's planning on using them as her enforcers in the other regions or something. Still.... I wouldn't put it past her to exploit the Divine Beasts for a publicity stunt." she said sourly.
