Grumf the Goron and Floofy the shadow kargarok

Grumf didn't know to be afraid of the targeting laser. He was more confused by it then anything and waved a hand through it a few times trying to figure out what it was. Then there was a shout of "LAND!"

When the goron turned and saw he was being pursued by a talking, cloths wearing, humanoid bird he just sort of stared for a moment in shock. Rito didn't exist where he came from and while they had super weird things like lizalfos with wings and the bizarre creature he was riding on that was still freaky to him.

The Goron looked back at him. Well. At least he'd gotten its attention.

"STOP! WE DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!" Teba yelled, which was partially true in that they didn't really want to hurt him if he was some normal guy. That might change if he had an alliance to Ganon or something but that probably didn't need to be mentioned.

At this point Teba was trying to maneuver himself above Floofy in case he needed to force a landing here.

Grumf the Goron and Floofy the shadow kargarok

Grumf signaled Floofy to slow down and asked "Are you a bird? I've never met a talking bird before. Also I don't know if you've noticed but I've kind of got two ridiculously massive things after me. The lizard one tried to eat Floofy so I'd actually rather not land down there." while Floofy noticed the same targeting laser that Grumf had notice earlier and attempted to peck it twice not sure what it was but not liking that it seemed to be touching him.

Teba slowed down to match Floofy's now current speed, and was actually a little confused as to how this guy didn't know what a Rito was. Then again.. apparently these two were spat out of thin air and they both CLEARLY looked very different too so he wasn't entirely sure if thus should be as surprising to him or not.

"Ah.. yes... The Divine Beasts can be a little touchy, at least from what I've seen. But I can assure you that they're not trying to hurt you. I'll go down and try to calm things down enough for you to be able to land. And then perhaps we can sort all of this out. Alright?" Teba offered.

Grumf said "Could've fooled me. But hey. If it means my friend and I aren't going to be a snack for....g.ods of some sort...apparently....I'm all for it. I don't know if Floofy riled someone up or something but I just sort of...suddenly found myself in this situation. It's....h.ard to explain. I'll go into it deeper if you can do that thing you said."

Teba told him "Well I doubt you'll end up being 'food' for anyone- but we can talk about that later when we're explaining things. I'll go talk to them." before diving down to meet the group on the ground.

"He says he's willing to explain himself if we can guarantee that the beasts won't try to kill him as soon as he lands. He claims Rudania tried to eat the bird which is what started the chase." he said once he was within hearing range of everyone.

Yunobo said "What?! Rudania doesn't eat people! Goro. He can't any more then any of the others can!" then he thought about that for a moment and his face sort of went flat before he turned to Rudania and said ".....You tried to catch it with your face....didn't you."

[Yes.] Rudania replied with a full fledged nod.

Yunobo said "You know, you probably really freaked them out doing that. Goro."

Rudania said [I'm not sorry. Not yet anyway. Maybe later but not now.] then had to repeat that several times on Yunobo's request before Yunobo got it.

After a very long discussion that was partly so long because of Yunobo not being great at hearing the beast yet and partly long because Yunobo waisted some time trying to get Rudania to say he was sorry they eventually managed to pull an agreement from Rudania that the beast would not be snapping at, stomping, shooting or otherwise k.illing the weird newcomers unless after questioning the group found out they really were bad. Rudania was still very reluctant to trust that alien bird. The goron he was more ok with and Yunobo used the apparent connection between the goron and the bird to persuade Rudania to back off.

Yunobo turned to the others and because the whole thing had been very confusing he said "Ok. Goro. Rudania refuses to apologize yet but he does agree not to hurt the weird goron and bird as long as they don't do anything terrible. Goro. I think that's the best we're going to get out of him."

Link nudged Yunobo and said "Hey. Nice taking that one roar right to your face. Most people would run." (Said Roar Yunobo had even had the courage to call Rudania out on being rude....though he did so as politely as possible)

Yunobo said "Oh....yeah....that was just him being frustrated having to repeat so many things. That's not nearly as bad as some of the things he could've gotten mad at. Goro."

((I'm going to move past my character's actions a little bit here because I don't think Icee would mind that in the event of her having to log off me just implying that Teba had flown back up to tell Grumf that he could land if it means not making the other player wait longer then necessary. If I am wrong I will not do this again))

When the goron was convinced to land his bird he looked at the group around him with puzzlement. A RED Zora? That was pretty weird. People who looked very VERY similar to the Link and Zelda from where he came from. A goron without any tattoos and from Grumf's perspective strange coloration. And last but not least the weird colored lady riding a bone horse.

Yunobo could only look at the bird for a few seconds before screaming "AAAAH! IT'S FACELESS!" and proceeding to hide behind Rudania's foot (which was luckily no longer on fire). The beast sort of absentmindedly glanced down towards Yunobo before returning attention to the newcomers.

Grumf said "Yeah. He's like that. Don't ask how he pecks things because he can and I don't know the answer to how."

On closer examination the shadow bird had a face sort of like a sea anemone with feathers where tentacles would be and glowing red zigzagging markings around the hole in the center. Its body was covered with darker black markings on its already dark hide as well.

The goron continued "Soooo....I'm Grumf. This is Floofy. He's a shadow kargarok."

Zelda asked "A what?"

Grumf replied "Yeeah. Not many people I've met get to see the species often. So....do I explain me first or do you people explain you first? I have NO idea where I am. Unless...would this happen to be the twilight realm?"

"Um....no? No. It's not the twilight." Zelda said. Now, Zelda's world actually had a version of the twilight realm (there's an Easter egg that hints that in game somewhere but you can't actually go there). So the term sounded slightly familiar but it wasn't quite hitting her yet.

Grumf said "Kind of thought not. It doesn't look anything like how books described. The people there aren't suppose to look like you guys ether. That is an awesome horse by the way. I have no idea what's up with that thing but it's really cool." he pointed at the stallhorse.

Jessa smiled, seeing the Goron with the strange looking bird. What did he call it? A kagarock? Interesting. And she made a mental note to look up what the Twilight Realm was as she got off Maxilar.

"His name's Maxilar, a Stallhorse. Basically he's a walking skeleton of a horse that died thanks to a curse set by Calamity Ganon." She told the younger Goron. Trixie, upon smelling someone new, poked her head out of the open backpack on her back and jumped out, running right up to the Goron and his strange bird. After sniffing both, and clearly deciding neither was a threat, she did her little "I want to be friends" dance, spinning around and catching her tail in her mouth, giving the Goron and strange bird the "Hi! I'm cute, wanna be friends?" look as Maxilar seemed to roll his eyes at his canine counterpart's antics.

"And that's my fox Trixie. She's a bit of a free spirit. That dance is her way of asking if you want to be friends or not." Jessa translated, rolling her own eyes. "I'm Jessa by the way. The big guy here is Maxilar." She added, remembering her manners at the last minute and introduced herself

Grumf started "I don't know what Calamity-" before getting distracted by the fox.

Floofy let out a noise like a low pitched goose and seemed to watch the Fox like a bird version of a cat watching a mouse.

Grumf put himself between Floofy and the fox. He also put his hand right in front of the bird's faceless face for a moment with a short snap of "Not food." before explaining "You gotta be careful letting smaller animals run up by Floofy. He's predatory and has to be told not to eat specific things." Only when he was sure Floofy had looked the other way (a sign of him letting Grumf know he was no longer interested in the hunt along with keeping his wings folded) did the goron allow himself to relax enough to pet the fox.

Rudania gave a disapproving rumble and said [EEEEEEVVVVVIIIIIILLL] which Yunobo was actually able to pick up enough to reply "Rudania, no." afraid the beast might do something.

Grumf asked the other goron "So.....is the lizard yours?"

Yunobo said "Goro. It's....complicated. We are together in a way though so.....maybe yes. This is Vah Rudania. Goro. He's one of four divine beasts. Vah Medoh up there is another one."

Grumf asked "There are FOUR of those things? By Hylia above, I'll try to keep on your good side for sure."

Yunobo said "Oh, I'm not connected to all of them. Just Rudania. Goro. Though...I suppose they are all sort of related and do get in each other's conflicts if they're big enough to worry about. Goro."

Zelda noted "Hylia? I didn't know Hylia was interested in places outside of Hyrule's lands."

Grumf paused the fox petting and said "I AM from a part of Hyrule."

Zelda told him "Clearly not. If you were, you'd know what a divine beast was."

Grumf started. "I still have a lot of questions about....." Suddenly he thought for a moment "Are you saying we're in Hyrule right now?" he asked.

Zelda told him "I'd have to say so. You can even see the castle from here. It's a little h.arder now as it gets dark but still. In fact I'm Zelda, the ruler of said castle."

Grumf asked the other goron "And that volcano in the distance....I'm guessing that's d.eath mountain huh?"

"Yeah?" Yunobo replied really not sure where this was going. The question was actually rather important for you see Grumf's d.eath mountain did not look like that. No, it didn't look anything like a regular volcano at all other then there being lava involved.

Grumf paced back and forth for a moment then with a light of understanding in his small for his size eyes he said "I know what happened! This is another version of Hyrule from where I came from!"

"WHAT?!" Link and Zelda asked.

Grumf said "Back where I come from I was on a quest that involved dimension jumping. You see the twilight realm isn't really a part of my world but it is connected. It's a place of darkness that balances the light. It's full of a magic that can be corruptive in nature but isn't necessarily evil. Many of the beings there are actually not that different from us other then the magic they make use of. Floofy is one such creature. He's a mischief maker and he can be vengeful if he feels wronged but he's not evil. He's just a creature the people of his realm domesticated... like those horses of yours. Some time ago we did have a war with the twili. A guy named Link later explained that it was the cause of one twili in power rather then the whole race though. Apparently a different twili even helped him solve it. Still, we had a war and their realm started...eating ours. I don't know how else to explain it. Everything looked weird and the wildlife around us was transformed into unfamiliar shapes. I assume Floofy was brought in by the invading forces during this time and he must've pulled his usual shenanigans and run off. I found him after the twilight receded and things were otherwise back to normal. He was almost d.ieing of heatstroke in the mines. He must've got lost down there ether before or after he got stranded in my world. I didn't know what he was yet only that his species had been dive bombing us previously but...he was so helpless. I couldn't resist trying to save him."

Zelda said "This is incredibly interesting though I am left to wonder what it has to do with what you were saying earlier?"

Grumf told her "Everything! Absolutely everything! My quest was for him! Weeks of nonstop research to dig up anything I could on the twilight until my brain felt like it was going to fall out of my head! OOoh. That part was kind of a nightmare. I'm surprised I don't get PTSD looking at books now. Anyway. The problem is that you can't just walk into the twilight. It's a different dimension. A different WORLD. You need special ways to travel if you want to get from one place to another. Things with crazy powerful magic! Like, REALLY crazy! Like, can cause an apocalypse if you missuse it strong!"

"I get it." Zelda stated before Grumf continued pushing the point.

"Sorry. I'm just super exited to talk about it." Grumf said continuing "Look, Floofy was stranded. I really like him and I would be upset to see him leave me but... he's my friend. Friends deserve a chance to go home. I can't directly speak to him so I can't know how much he misses it. My only choice is to try to open a way to the twilight and see if he wants to go back. I had heard of a way when trying to find out what he is and I couldn't let it sit. There is an artifact somewhere called the mirror of twilight. Link and my version of Zelda said it was shattered but....I still had to try to find it. Maybe there was another one somewhere. I can't be the only one who has tried to get into the twilight. After a few years of searching I thought I had found something that matches the description but....it must not have been right. ....I guess it was a little smaller then the tales said is should be."

By this point Floofy was watching the fox again though it was just curiosity and he wasn't gearing up to pounce. Wings were still tight to his sides and he wasn't crouched at all. Grumf kept an eye on him to make sure the behavior didn't change.

Jessa eyed the Kagarok warily as it eyed her fox. Trixie was too busy enjoying the attention from her new Goron friend Grumf to notice. What had Grumf called the thing? Floofy? What kind of a name was that? Oh well, to each their own. She named Maxilar because the bone he was named for was one in the Hylian body. Or any humanoid body for that matter. She glanced at Teba and up at Metoh and over at Rudania. She decided to check in with Naboris, who wasn't there, to see what she thought about this when the talk turned to other dimensions.

"Wait, wait, hold up a second and back up a few steps. Let me see if I have this right: You're from Death Mountain, he's a creature from a shadow dimension....but neither of you are from this Hyrule? How is that even possible?! Why would Hylia, or any deity for that matter, make more than one version of their world? Wouldn't that just get confusing?" Jessa asked, glancing at Link and Zelda. She was mentally relaying the conversation with Naboris, who informed her that she was en route and curious about this Goron and his friend.

[Tell your friends I am en route. Mainly to keep Metoh and Rudania out of trouble. I'm avoiding villages on the main roads so as to avoid damage and causing a panic. I'm curious to meet this little Goron and his avian friend.] Naboris instructed, earning a feeling of acknowledgement from her human partner.

"Naboris says to report that she's en route to keep Rudania and Metoh out of trouble. She also says to tell you that she's avoiding main roads to avoid causing a panic." Jessa reported to Zelda before turning to the Goron. "She wants to meet you and Floofy by the way. She's another Divine Beast from the Gerudo territory." She told the Goron

((@Hyper about pressing on ahead: Aww yes it's totally fine. I'd assumed you would do that yes. Don't worry about it ^w^))

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

[Seriously? Why do you keep lumping me in with Rudania? If anyone ever starts anything it's him.] Medoh sent Naboris in an irritated tone, having overheard that. He currently circled high above the group to keep an eye on things, having taken his laser off of Grumf and the bird after they landed.

‡ Teba ‡

Teba had nodded and relayed the message from Yunobo up to Grumf and Floofy, then landed shortly after the Goron and his shadow bird landed. When Yunobo exclaimed that the bird didn't have a face, Teba was at first confused and then unsettled when he realized that it really DIDN'T have a face. Something about it was very unnerving to him. Maybe the fact that he was also a bird wasn't helping it.

As the conversation continued and Grumf eventually said that he was from an alternate dimension, another HYRULE, Teba set a hand on his chin and noted "I take it there aren't Rito where you come from, then? That explains why you didn't recognize what I was but didn't have much trouble with the others.", mostly just curious about what else was different about this other Hyrule. Clearly alot of things.

On the Naboris topic Grumf said "As long as she doesn't try to eat anybody I'm fine with that." giving a bit of a thumbs up.

At this moment Medoh sent [Seriously? Why do you keep lumping me in with Rudania? If anyone ever starts anything it's him.] and Rudania looked upward with a roar as he sent [IS NOT!]

After both gorons flinched (both a bit more startle then anything though Grumf was worried he might've insulted the thing) Yunobo told Grumf "Ok. I guess it's time to explain this. The divine beasts don't eat people. They're machines. Most of them don't have mouths and Rudania doesn't have a throat."

Grumf stared at Rudania for a moment given he was the closest beast there for now. Then said "Someone....built that?....You know what. I'm going to question that later. This is already weird enough."

He watched Rudania finally recall his sentrys which he had been just flying around in case they were needed but had got bored after a bit.

Grumf added "Going to question THAT later too." then continued "Anyway....multiple worlds talk.....I don't know. I'm not going to pretend to understand the will of g.ods and g.oddeses. But....what other conclusion can I come to when after messing with artifacts having to do with traveling between worlds I end up in one where people are saying it's home but it really doesn't look like home? I mean, I know a Zelda and it's not that Zelda. They look earrilly similiar but not quite the same. How can there be two Zeldas who both rule Hyrule but don't know about each other? At the very least mine never mentioned yours. Also...we don't have divine beasts. We have animal gaurdians but they are light spirits. Not gient machines."

Zelda piped up "I am reminded of a story. Perhaps it has some merit? One of the heros of old was said to have messed with time in order to stop a past Ganon. He used time travel in his endevors and it is said that he accidentilly split time itself. Perhaps this is the result of that. Different worlds where different things happen."

Link said "That sounds like a HUGE leap to make."

Zelda told him "Yes. It is. Espessully since I'm talking about events so far in the past that it's probubly not true at all. But we don't have a lot of working theorys here."

Grumf said "Oh hey! I know the word Ganon. He's like, some evil guy who comes around and s.crews everything up sometimes right?"

"Yes." Zelda said continueing "The divine beasts were designed to help counter him as he took on more and more monstrus forms." to which Grumf replied "YIKES! There isn't a chance I might meet that guy right? I don't want to meet anyone that requires four machines of THAT size to beat up."

Zelda told him "It is highly unlikely. We already k.illed ours and it will be a long time before he can return to the world."

Teba asked Grumf "I take it there aren't Rito where you come from, then? That explains why you didn't recognize what I was but didn't have much trouble with the others." The goron confirmed "No. We don't have Rito. The closest thing we have to bird people are freaky chicken things that live in a city in the sky and kind of give anyone who sees them nightmares."

Jessa considered, recalling the story of the Hero with the Ocarina. It had been one of her favorites as a child, along with the Wolf Hero (Twilight Princess), the Mask of the Forest (Majora's Mask, which I've admittedly never played, but want to), and the Hero of the Sky (Skyward Sword).

"It seems like it might be the only explanation of how this could happen. Maybe Hylia didn't like how things turned out in one timeline and decided to create another where she could try again." Jessa suggested, glancing at Grumf. "No wonder Naboris is interested in meeting you. I'll take you inside her when she gets here. It should only take her a couple of days from the desert with her large size. She can cover a lot more ground. Metoh up there could do it in hours since he can fly." She explained to Grumf, glancing over at Floofy again as Trixie was now sniffing at him.

"Should I be worried about Trixie trying to make friends with your faceless bird?" She asked, pointing it out to Grumf. SHe was ready to jump in and call her fox back if she had to. And it looked like Maxilar was ready to jump in himself if he had to

Teba blinked. "Nightmarish chicken things. Well then... At least you didn't mistake me for one of those." he chuckled. "You said there was an artifact that brought you here. Do you think it came with you into this dimension?" he questioned after a few moments of pondering.

Grumf said "It's the first few hours or so that we'll really need to watch them. Sometimes Floofy listens the first time I say don't eat something and sometimes it takes a few tries. I'm pretty good at stopping him before he does damage though so just allow me to stick near him when the two are together and he shouldn't be able to hurt her. Now....what was that about going inside Naboris and why did you say that like it was a compleetly normal sentince?"

Kind of unrelated to the topic at hand Rudania snapped at Medoh [LIKE YOU NEVER DO!] roaring. Yunobo asked "Do you HAVE to roar while having these arguments?" But Rudania only got distracted and told him in an exited manner (for Rudania actually quite liked Naboris despite the fact that she was often one to scold him) [Did you hear that my sister is comeing? Because...my sister is coming.]

Yunobo said "....What?" to which Rudania snapped [AAAARG! AGAIN!] with another roar. Yunobo told him "Hey! I'm TRYING to understand. Goro. Really I am. I just need a lot more practice."

Grumf piped up "Ok....there are a LOT of things happening right now. That lizard is super distracting." giving a one moment gesture to Teba then starting to root around in Floofy's saddle bags.

"Sorry." Yunobo told him. Grumf replied "It's ok. I know you're not at fault here but....geeze." then his looking around got a little more frantic. Finally he let out a "OH SHOOT! I don't have it, guys! What if I dropped it somewhere? It could send the next person who touches it to who knows where!"

Jessa nodded, keeping a sharp eye on Trixie and the demonic looking bird. Floofy...an unusual name no matter what the case. She made a mental note to ask Grumf about that later. Maxilar however, seemed perfectly at ease with it. Probably because it was a fellow creature of darkness. However, when Grumf asked about going inside Naboris and the two male Divine Beasts started getting excited, she smiled.

"To be honest, I'm usually a bit of an introvert when it comes to crowds unless it's people I know. When I'm in Gerudo Town and there's something going on, festival days, market days, that sort of thing, Naboris will let me hide out in her halls when I need a break. Even at night when Maxilar's awake. She'll let him and Trixie go nuts and play all they like - as long as they don't mess with her internal systems. She even let me set up a small library in one of her control chambers for when I want something to read. I had to ask her permission first before moving furniture in, but she allowed it. We've been talking to each other telepathically almost this whole time. She's a real sweetheart when she's not affected by Malice." She explained, smiling as she watched Trixie perform her little "Play with me!" dance for Floofy. She had to giggle as the fox did a play bow and yapped at him, tail wagging a mile a minute. She rolled her eyes.

"She won't stop until Floofy agrees to play with her. Trixie's a bit stubborn about playtime. She even got the Gerudo leader's bodyguard Buliara to play with her when she was off duty. And that woman is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get to admit that something's cute. Trixie somehow even got her to say and I quote "OK, even I have to admit, that fox is adorable" and even Lady Riju's jaw dropped." Jessa told Grumf, watching her fox's antics. She also glanced at Sidon, who was just keeping an eye on the Divine Beasts. Medoh and Rudania seemed to be arguing about something and he was probably listening in through Ruta and his connection with her. To be perfectly honest, she was doing the same with Naboris. She found it pretty funny what they were arguing about. And that Medoh considered Naboris his favorite sibling in the Divine Beasts. She wasn't sure how Ruta felt about that, but from the look on Sidon's face, she didn't seem to mind. Ruta was a sweetheart of an elephant the way Naboris was a sweetheart of a camel.

Yunobo, hearing what Naboris was apparently willing to allow said "What, really? Goro. ....I'm literally not sure if Rudania would be so ok with something like that. Kind of feels like it would be awkward to even ask about. Goro. Though maybe that's partly cuz I'm still getting to know him."

Grumf however had moved on to the fox thing and said "Careful. Floofy's use to a goron so, he plays a little rough. Plus remember he might still be trying to figure out whether the fox is food or not so you might want to keep her away for now." he then mounted the bird.

Link asked "Going somewhere?"

Grumf replied "Um....possibly dropped a really dangerous magic item. Gotta look for it! If anyone wants to help, it sort of looks like a large glowing plate but thicker and covered in weird designs. I might also be able to call it a giant medallion. You know....whichever works to put a picture in your head. I'll meet you people back here when I find it or give up." then he had Floofy take off.

Yunobo looked up at Rudania. Rudania looked at him for a moment then said [Let me guess.] and sent the sentries back out. He added [For the record...I'm still mostly just smelling what happened earlyer and that evil bird. So...that's all I can do right now.]

"....What?" Yunobo asked. Rudania half irritably repeated. He hoped this transition phase of him having to tell Yunobo things multiple times wouldn't last long.

Link said "I might as well help too." getting Diva to run after a few attempts.

The item however would be nowhere to be found. Rudania didn't know it but the action earlyer had NOT covered up the magic. The magic simply wasn't there because the object had been stolen. There wouldn't be any sign of the theft eather.

Trixie whined her disappointment, plonking down in the grass as Jessa knelt beside her fox. She rubbed her friend between the ears as she watched the bird take off past the Divine Beasts. She decided to keep an eye out for that medallion thing that Grumf was talking about and sent the mental description to Naboris, who also was willing to keep an eye out - or in her case, an optic - for it.

"Well, we should probably get back to the castle, considering our friend up there is probably getting a little anxious. And Naboris said she'd keep an eye out for that amulet thing Grumf described. I'm not sure if she'll be able to spot something that small, but it'll help at least." Jessa told Link and Zelda, glancing between the two leaders. She wasn't sure how far she could go with them yet. Link seemed a bit more relaxed than Zelda though. She glanced up at the sky, checking the position of the moon.

"I'd also like to get Maxilar in a stall before sunrise. He prefers being upright when he goes to sleep if at all possible. When we're on the road, that's not always possible. But since I assume we'll be staying at the Castle for awhile..." She mused, glancing between Link and Zelda. She glanced at Teba as well.

Zelda agreed "Yes. I think given the unexpected events it would be unwise for us to separate now. Everything about this deserves investigation."

Yunobo said "I'll stay out here with Rudania a little bit in case someone needs to tell Grumf where you went. Goro. Plus I do need to practice the mind talk thing."

Rudania gave almost a coo of agreement happy that at least Yunobo could see how much he needed to work on it.

Zelda asked Yunobo "Are you sure? Night is when more monsters come out."

Sort of sounding like he didn't consider that Yunobo stuttered "Y-Yeah. Totally. G-Goro. I have Daruk's protection and Vah Rudania. Nothing can hurt us. Goro......Right?" he looked up at Rudania for reassurance at the end there. Rudania g.rabbed the goron and tossed him onto his back which....Yunobo knew he should've been annoyed with after having already told Rudania not to do that in the past but honestly he did feel much safer up there then on the ground so he didn't complain.

If Grumf had still been near when it happened he might've asked what the heck that red glow Yunobo had around him for a second was but he'd missed it for now.

Zelda started her horse back twords the castle. On a slow day she might've stuck around to help look for the object but as things were she might be needed somewhere so she needed to return.

Link was off looking for the item in his typical "I MUST HELP FIX WHATEVER PROBLUM I RUN INTO!" way.

Trixie turend to Jessa as the Gerudo lowered her backpack to her level so she could hop in. The fox did so immedaitely, poking her head out to get the fresh night air. She swung herself up on to Maxilar and the stallhorse nickered.

"Should I ask Naboris to have Rudania or Medoh go after Link?" She asked Zelda, watching the boy take off. She wasn't sure how long it would be until he got back. And she wanted to set up that race with Diva and Maxilar. She knew even Diva wouldn't be able to resist a challenge

Zelda said "Depends on if you have a need for him. I'm fine with allowing him to help in the search even though he can only be a small player.....literally. Heh heh. Sorry. I realize puns are bottom of the barrel. That one was too tempting even for me. Anyway, go ahead if you need him for something. I meanwhile must tell the staff to prepare some guest bedrooms and possibly some food."

Teba ~ Male ~ Rito & Vah Medoh

‡ Teba ‡

Teba furrowed his brow when Rudania abruptly roared up at Medoh. Perhaps this is what Jessa- or, Naboris- meant by 'keeping these two out of trouble'.

When Grumf suddenly exclaimed that the artifact was missing and that it could transport anyone who touches it somewhere else, Teba of course was alarmed. He sort of waited for what the group's general plan was for a while before deciding for himself what HE would be doing. "Well. If I'm staying here for a while then I guess I won't have to worry about finding somewhere to sleep tonight. In the meantime, I'm going to go help the others look. I'm sure they could use another pair of eyes out there." he said, before flapping off to go join the search party.

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

Vah Medoh was sort of having a difficult time keeping up with what was going on. He had trouble hearing them with his own 'ears' (auditory receptors, really) from so high up, and his connection with Teba was a tricky one. Medoh was almost certain that he was blocking him out somehow. It really wasn't too surprising, though. Compared to the other set of riders, he and Teba weren't really as 'close-close' as they were. Teba usually avoided flying too close to him, which.. was another reason why Medoh liked him. That he was considerate of his airspace. But in this situation, the warrior's closed-offness was a little bit frustrating.

The Beast followed Grumf and Floofy when he saw them flying off. later getting a sliggt sense that they were looking for something. Medoh had an idea of what it was though perhaps wasn't looking as closely as he could have been, because he mostly was watching Grumf and Floofy.

Noting Teba's joining him Grumf said "I swear those things have given us a few stink eyes even after the attack stopped. Though....maybe I'm just paranoid." looking at Medoh even though Rudania had been a much worse offender. It likely was indeed him still being uneasy around such massive things. The goron then looked downward visually (but of course not literally because he is not a robot) scanning the ground for where they might've come from. He pointed vaguely at a spot in the grassy field and said "I...THINK we came into this world right around there and then were chased that way. It should be somewhere along here but...I don't see it yet." he traced their earlier panicked path through the sky with his finger. Then he continued "It glows. A glowing object shouldn't be that h.ard to spot should it?"

Rudania...deciding to be a stinker flew one of his drones up over Medoh's head for no apparent reason. [Little people sayings are funny. If I landed that drone on you would I....have my eye on you?] he asked.

Yunobo picking up just enough to wonder what was meant looked upward though not at Medoh. He was trying to see if Rudania had been talking to him.

Draiil approached his partner in crime. "What did I miss?" he whispered.

Vah Medoh annoyedly sent Rudania [If you land that on my head, you'll have a black eye... because I'll shoot it.. and it'll be covered in soot and the like. Hahaha. I can make jokes too, see?] before continuing [Must you use that for being annoying rather than.... looking for whatever we're looking for right now?]

‡ Teba ‡

Teba snorted, peering around. "Yes, I'd have to imagine something that glows would likely stand out. Hopefully a Chuchu didn't roll over it and carry it away.. or a Keese, for that matter. They come out at this time of night, I believe." he said, then thought for a moment and asked "Could this artifact transport monsters, too?"

¥ Zeraena ¥

Zeraena glanced over at Draiil when he finally got back, then looked back out towards Vah Rudania (because he was easiest to spot from her likely somewhat far from the action vantage point at the moment) and said "It looks like Link and Zelda rode out from the castle after the Goron and the bird happened. There was also a Rito, a Goron, and somebody riding a Stalhorse accompanying them. I think the Rito got the goron to land and they stood there for a while, probably talking. I think they're looking for that shiny thing now. Speaking of which- what took you so long?"

Rudania told Medoh [Technically I can look for the thing AND be annoying if I want too.] still he did move the drone away because he didn't actually want to just loose drones unnecessarily. He had to admit to himself that he was super tempted to find out if Medoh could actually shoot something on him though.

Down with Rudania Yunobo asked "Are you....bothering your brother?" having picked up enough clues to figure out what was actually being talked about here.

Rudania replied [It was funny.] before telling Medoh [We're looking for some sort of small glowing thing. Like, the size of the things little people often eat off of.]

Grumf said "I think Floofy might technically be in that category so....yes. Also, I actually know what those two monsters you mentioned are! We have those where I come from. I should list the similarities and differences somewhere. Then when I get home I can tell people about the details much better."

Draiil explained. "I was worried that object's magic was really strong so I had Fred help me hide it. It took a while for him to find somewhere he was sure would cover it up. I didn't want to risk a divine beast sniffing it out like a truffle hunting boar after accidentally coming near enough to pick it up or something." he then also looked towards Rudania and noted "Hey....is someone....ON that beast? Are we going to have to worry about a new set of champions?"

Jessa of the Sheikah/Gerudo

Jessa shook her head when Zelda said she could go after Link if it was important to her.

"No, it can wait until he gets back. I was just hoping to set up the race with him and Diva for tomorrow." Jessa replied when she heard Naboris speaking in her mind again.

[Honestly Medoh, you and Rudania worse than the children at Gerudo Town!] She heard Naboris scold the two other Divine Beasts and she couldn't help but giggle.

"Sorry, Naboris just told Rudania and Medoh off for their behavior." Jessa apologized, Maxilar pawing the ground with his hoof. "And I think someone's eager to get back to the palace so he can rest for the day." She added with a yawn. "So am I for that matter."

After a slight chuckle at the divine beast thing and the horse topic came up Zelda said "To be honest. I don't really get what he sees in that horse. But he always has had a soft spot for even the difficult ones. 100 years ago he helped me with mine. He actually tamed the one I'm on now because it's clearly related to my horse back then. Perhaps a great grandson or something. Now, my horse was a little wild at first too but Diva....it's almost like Diva isn't so much wild but just legitimately naughty. Apparently he's gone through several owners before Link and they all gave him up because he was too much trouble. Link said people giving him up is probably one of the reasons he was h.ard to gain the trust of because just as he started to get to know someone he would pass hands to a new stranger. It makes some sense when explained but I don't know how he just knows that. It's ironic. On most topics he comes to me because I'm the one with all the old texts and the patience to read them. And this one topic....this ONE topic he has to lead because I'm rather useless with it."

Teba ~ Male ~ Rito & Vah Medoh & Zeraena

‡ Teba ‡

Teba gave a 'hmph' at that, finding that concept a little amusing as well as a little strange. Mostly because someone really doesn't ever expect to do something like that. "I am a little curious myself of the world you come from. Specifically, I wonder if the Divine Beasts purely don't exist where you come from, or if they're still just buried. The two beasts you see now and the two others that are elsewhere right now all used to be buried in the ground up until 100 years ago." he explained.

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

Medoh was just glad that Rudania moved the drone away from him, and wasn't going to argue with the rather annoying comment he'd made just before doing so. When Rudania described what they were looking for, he couldn't help but say in a sarcastic (but not exactly sour, more like a joking-) tone [Well that makes it so much easier. Now instead of just anything, I'm looking for a tiny pinprick of light in a giant field. That certainly narrows it down.]

[Honestly Medoh, you and Rudania are worse than the children at Gerudo Town!] Naboris sent.

Medoh couldn't help but let out a screech of frustration at that and sent Naboris [He CLEARLY started that one! I wasn't even near him! He just did it to be annoying!]

¥ Zeraena ¥

Zeraena frowned a little bit, and said "I was kinda thinking that too. I mean, they've got them all there. A Rito. A Zora. A Goron. And I've definitely seen that weird sheikah woman in the desert before. Maybe she's some sort of techie they're using to check out Naboris with." She had described Jessa as 'sheikah' since she'd really only seen her from far away and at night, and the most noticeable things about her at the moment were her very sheikah-esque outfit and white hair.

Grumf said "I really doubt we have them at all. I haven't found any mention of giant robot animals in any old texts. While we're on the topic though, really?! Someone went through the trouble of building something that big four times over and then they buried them?! HOW? Why? Also, who?"

Rudania started laughing out loud at how Medoh was reacting to Naboris pointing a metaphorical finger at him. Rudania's laughter was a very strange sound. Like an earthquake with the hiccups. It wasn't produced the same way a not robotic person would laugh but it sort of mimicked that type of sound. The sheikah had thought that adding a trait like being able to laugh would make Rudania less frightening as the beasts could really use anything they could get to counteract how intimidating their size made them.

Yunobo said "Goro. You did start it though." after a few seconds of awkward silence. Rudania looked over his shoulder towards Yunobo in suprise then messaged his siblings [He's starting to get it guys! Yunob's starting to pick things up!] exited that Yunobo had not just picked up him but had evidently picked up enough context clues from what went on in Rudania's mind to comment on something Medoh said. Yunobo had not actually got everything down yet but that was a massive step compared to just a little while ago.

One of the things that had sort of been in Yunobo's way was that before Zelda had confirmed that the beasts could in fact speak to their riders Yunobo had mistaken the things that came from Rudania as random thoughts of his own or as him hearing things because of stress which resulted in Yunobo sort of closing himself off unknowingly. They HAD had a rather rocky (pun intended) relationship at the start after all so stress was a valid thing to blame. Now that Yunobo was actively trying to open up his mind and listen to Rudania however his connection with Rudania was strengthening at an alarming rate. This was helped further by the fact that both partys were actively trying to link up now.

Draiil said "That's....disturbing. We need to find out more about these possible new champions. Perhaps it will soon be time to introduce ourselves and have a chat. We just need a good excuse. The tourist thing will give us a lot of options."

‡ Teba ‡

Teba replied "Well... I'm not going to act like I'm well versed on the subject, but, I believe that a long time ago the ancient Sheikah built the Divine Beasts and the Guardians to fight calamity ganon. But the current king of Hyrule back then feared the Sheikah's power and had them bury all of their technology and wouldn't permit them to continue building any new technology afterwards."

When Rudania started 'laughing', Teba couldn't help but look back and mutter a 'What in the world..' before shaking his head and continuing his business. If Vah Rudania was THIS noisy THIS often back at Death Mountain, it must be very difficult for the Gorons to get any sleep.

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

Medoh couldn't help but feel a little ruffled at Rudania's laughing, which was why he didn't take the news of Yunobo picking up the link thing as enthusiastically as Rudania probably was looking for. [I'm sure that's wonderful for you.] he replied flatly.

¥ Zeraena ¥

"Well, I think 'What in Hylia's name is going on' will be a pretty valid opening statement when we approach them. I don't think 'curiosity' is too suspicious of a reason to be poking around right now." Zeraena snorted.

Grumf said "The sheikah? Those people are basically extinct where I come from. Are they-" the conversation was interrupted by Rudania. The goron looked down and asked "What the heck sort of noise is that? Is he ok?"

Thinking that Medoh might be jealous Rudania sent [I'm sure yours will catch on quickly too.] He might be a little obnoxious sometimes but Rudania did care about his siblings.

Draiil added "And I feel like whatever Rudania just did is a good catalyst for us to go over there. Or at least me. Your choice if you want in on it."

Acting the part of a freaked out tourist he walked within better hearing distance of Rudania and Yunobo to call "HEY! Excuse me! Sorry if I'm out of line here but....What is happening right now! Why are there divine beasts here? What was all that....that STUFF that just happened?!"

Yunobo called back "Oh....uh. Goro....kind of h.ard to explain! But... the scary part is over if that helps! Goro."

Draiil was immediately taken back by the goron's voice. Was....was that a KID?! On a divine beast?! It took everything in Draiil's willpower not to say anything out loud. "What do you mean by scary part?" he asked instead. Yunobo replied "Medoh and Rudania were chasing someone earlier! Goro. That's been sorted out! I hope we didn't wake you or something! Goro."

Draiil replied "No, but I WAS worried I wouldn't be able to sleep so...thanks for letting me know that's over!"

Jessa was only half listening to the conversation as she glanced over at the eastern sky as it started to fade to gray, making Maxilar anxious. She knew it would be light soon, making Maxilar return to the pile of bones he was during the daytime. She knew he wanted to be back in a stall resting in his pile of dirt as he always did during the daytime when they weren't traveling.

"Easy big guy, easy, we'll get back soon." Jessa soothed the Stalhorse, earning a snort in response. She turned to Zelda.

"Sun's coming up. Maxilar's getting a little anxious. He always does around sunrise. I'm an early riser because of that. Whenever we're on the road, I know it's morning when he starts getting antsy like this." She told Zelda, hoping they'd head back to the castle soon so she could get Maxilar in his stall so he could sleep in a comfortable pile of bones in dirt like he should. She was considering putting a pile of dirt in her bag, but she knew it would ruin her clothes and food supplies when she was traveling, and would annoy Trixie to no end when she had to ride in the backpack

Zelda said "It doesn't feel right that we have been out that long. But I suppose time can do weird things when you're stressed." "Don't worry, he does. He prefers sleeping in the dirt on the floor of a stall. If they find a pile of bones in a stall, that's Maxilar. Zelda lead the way to the stable a little worried that people would freak out if she and Zarro wasn't the first one they saw. She explained the situation and (while the stable hands still looked a little reluctant to mess with the Stallhorse) the horses were soon being tended to. Zelda turned to Jessa and said "Well....I'd been thinking I would have to ask the cooks to make everybody dinner but it seems breakfast is due instead. Are you hungry?"

Jessa nodded, letting Maxilar into the stall while she also let Trixie out of her backpack and the fox immedately went to investigate the stall before barking her approval and trotting back out. Jessa couldn't help laughing.

"Sure, I wouldn't say no to breakfast. And I think Trixie would agree and also approves of the status of the royal stables. Can't say I'm not surprised. Maxilar will be pretty comfortable here. There's a good layer of dirt and he likes being partly covered. Just so long as there's no manure in it." She told Zelda, also directing the words at the stable hands. That way they'd know how to take care of Maxilar when she wasn't around.

"Just lucky I guess. I was on my way through the Heba region to bypass the Castle when it was still under the Calamity's control. I saw he was under attack from some other monsters. They wanted to use his bones in some potion or other. Something about forcing a blizzard. I overheard them and I wasn't going to let that happen. I knew what it was like to be an outcast. I've always liked oddball monsters like Stalhorses and things like that. I know what it's like to be an outcast. Maxilar and I sort of connected over that." Jessa replied, glancing down as Trixie curled up in a little cute ball of fluff, giving a yawn and settled to take a short nap as Maxilar's bones collapsed into a pile of a skeleton in the dirt floor of the stall, raising a good sized cloud of dust in response. She rolled her eyes.

"Being a Hybrid, you don't really belong in the culture of either parent. That's why I usually keep to myself. I think Naboris picked up on that when she found me in the desert. I was riding Maxilar when she saved my life. We were cornered by a particularly large group of Electric Lizalfos and I thought for sure we were going to be charred to a crisp since I couldn't protect him or Trixie. I had gone out into the desert at night to take advantage of the quite during a winter festival at the time. She let me spend the rest of the night in the halls. I don't know how much she understood, but I was able to explain my situation to her." Jessa recalled, thinking of the nights she met both Naboris and Maxilar. She figured both stories were connected, she might as well tell them to Zelda.

Zelda did a "One moment" finger then pulled someone she apparently knew aside to ask them to start setting things up even though they were still on the walk into the castle. The person nodded and darted ahead. Zelda then turned her attention back to Jessa and said "Sorry about that. Just saw a chance and had to g.rab it. It's my habit to try to get things done as effecently as possible. Anyway. That's quite a story. Sounds like the sort of mess Link would get himself into where it just gets more complicated without him even having to do much. This does bring up two questions from me. 1. Are you implying that you can speak at least one monster languige or did the monsters that were going to betray your horse speaking as we do? 2. Did it frighten you to have Naboris offer that? There was a myth passing around that divine beasts cursed the unworthy who touched them going around some time ago. Not to mention that divine beasts are unfortunalty just intimidating by their very nature because they are so larg. In your shoes and in the cercomstance of not knowing the beast well it probubly would've taken a moment for me to even figure out what Naboris was offering if she exposed her entrance to me just from the shock of her showing up to give aid. And that's while ignoreing the curse myth."

Medoh unfortunately took Rudania's genuine reassurance as just more teasing. [It's not a competition, you know. Teba is just distracted right now, is all.] he replied.

‡ Teba ‡

"I honestly don't know. ....I think he was... laughing? Hylia knows why. Apparently he and Medoh don't get along well so that's likely some aspect of it." Teba replied. "If I may say on your extinct note earlier, I find that interesting, as the sheikah race is still around here. Most of them live in a secluded village but they're more or less just normal people." he added.

¥ Zeraena ¥

Zeraena grumbled an 'of COURSE I'm coming with you!' and quickly kept up with Draiil. While she was slightly trying to get ahead of him, she knew not to compromise stealth and make things look fishy just because she was feeling competitive at the time. So in the end she DID let Draiil speak first. She couldn't help but keep a general annoyed expression, especially when she found out that Yunobo was a younger Goron from the sound of it. She simply hoped that if they noticed then she could easily explain it as being tiredness.

"Yeah, but WHY are Rudania and Medoh in Hyrule Field!? Aren't they supposed to be like... at the Rito and Goron villages?" she yelled up at Yunobo.

Rudania litterally then told Medoh [I wasn't being competitive.] though his bluntness might or might not imply what he wanted.

Yunobo replied via calling back "Zelda wanted to talk to me and a couple other people involved with the divine beasts! The beast's came....just cuz! Goro. Seriously, in my case Rudania litterally refused to stay home!"

Rudania told Medoh [Neither of those possibilities sound good.] He had kind of been ignoring the conversation happening over his shoulder though he did note the two random little people whispering to each other after asking his companion about he and Rudania's relationship. He felt very judged and wasn't sure he liked it. Did they somehow dislike his friendship with Yunobo? How incredibly rude!

Yunobo picked up Rudania's irritation and while he didn't pick up what it was about he was immediately concerned.

"Hey....what's a matter?" The goron asked not immediately getting a response because Rudania was sort of lost in thought about two different things.

"Goro. Rudania?" Yunobo said trying to get the beast's attention. Rudania finally took notice and said [They're talking about us! They're talking about us, they're talking about us, they're talking about us!] he sent repeating himself so he wouldn't have to be asked.

Yunobo said "Well....yeah. I was talking to them. Goro. And I mean...this IS a little weird. Did you not notice? Goro."

Rudania wasn't sure that was a good excuse to be whispering about somebody in front of them.

Draiil whispered back "I think he's actually expecting us to believe a divine beast would just be interested in a child for no reason."

Then....at that point....Vah Rudania decided to crouch down, stick his nose right next to the annoying strangers....and roar. Draiil freaked out and scrambled to get away though the beast did not chase him. Rudania had simply wanted to get them to mind their own d.am business.

Yunobo stared....then looked at Rudania who looked back at Yunobo while oozing an emotion of smugness.

Yunobo shook his head no. Rudania shook his head yes with his mouth slightly open in an attempt at a smile though it didn't really work. Yunobo facepalmed basically engulfing said face in his hand. Then the matter was over.

Draiil decided maybe he should go back to watching from a distance for a little while to maybe catch Yunobo when he eventually got down from there. That took longer then they thought partly because Yunobo was actually too scared of the monsters that MIGHT be around to get down and walk to the castle. It was also however partly because he just lost track of time. He started to have a little fun with the practicing talking to Rudania thing and ended up falling asleep right there. Rudania didn't have the heart to wake him and even shared pictures with his siblings because he actually found it quite cute. [AAAWWWWW! LOOOOK!] he sent with the images he'd taken with his drones. (Yes...he thought it was so cute that instead of just using the limited and at an angle view he could get by looking over his shoulder he flew a sentry over and took pictures)

The reason this was such a big deal was because it was a big sign of trust on Yunobo's part. And also because he was having that same reaction that regular sized people might when their pet falls asleep on them.

Yunobo woke up rather early given everything then when he realized what happened he immediately apologized worried that had been rude. Rudania however?....not insulted at all given it was an accident and he liked Yunobo. He might've been annoyed if a random person he didn't know somehow got on him and used him as a bed but in this case he was almost laughing at how Yunobo could possibly think he would be mad given he easily could've woke the boy had he wanted to. After a bit of confusion on Yunobo's part he dismounted and rolled off to the castle.

Given the possible danger of the item and it possibly being the only way home Grumf was very stubborn about trying to find that stupid artifact. He only stopped when Floofy started to droop and not only was Floofy naturally nocturnal but he was also hyper so Grumf knew he had to give up for now if he'd been going long enough to wear out Floofy. Exhausted and empty handed but not entirely defeated as Grumf was a hopeful one he and his bird returned to the castle. When Floofy landed Grumf dismounted and heavily rewarded him with treats. "We did the best we could." he assured kind of wanting to try again at least once though not right that second.

Link was just as stubborn and didn't stop until he started to get really hungry. Link was very food oriented. Noting the others were heading back he also did though he had to walk on food leading Diva for some of it because that horse had enough of this nonsense. He'd been running the same ways over and over and he was simply fed up. He didn't let Link back on him until he was sure they weren't circling that field again.

Jessa of the Sheikah/Gerudo

Jessa shrugged her shoulders, thinking of the two situations. She glanced over at Maxilar's pile of bones  as he sat there in the dirt, snoozing the day away.

"The Bokoblins and the Moblins they were with spoke borken Hylian on occasion, but I make it a point to learn as many languages as possible. I speak fluent Sheikah and Gerudo, Hylian, and a bit of Monster. I couldn't understand everything they were saying, but I knew I couldn't let them turn an innocent creature into monster potion parts. Even if he wsa a skeleton." The taller woman admitted. She couldn't believe she was taller than the Queen of all Hyrule! It felt weird looking down at her. Like it was somehow impolite. Sure, she only had maybe a head on the other woman, but she still felt awkward about her height. That's what happened when you were part Gerudo - you tended to be taller than most people.

"As for Naboris, I was a little intimidated when she approached me. Considering she's a giant camel, that's not hard for her to do. Imagine my shock when she opened her doors for me. I don't know if she took pity on me, but she seemed to think I was worthy enough to go into her. I don't know why to be perfectly honest." Jessa admitted, recalling the events of when she met Naboris

Zelda thought about it too and said "There probably WAS a little pity involved. Though I do not mean that in insult. I think anyone would pity someone who got jumped like that. Just as you and I might pity and then help a small bird with a broken wing I do not think Naboris could avoid feeling bad for your situation even if she tried. Now, I know many gerudo would absolutely hate being compared to something as delicate as a small bird with a broken wing but the size difference.....it does work here. We are after all talking about beings built with the specific purpose to protect Hyrule and its people. The ability to empathize is an important trait for them. A divine beast should, in its natural uncorrupted state be distressed at the sight of someone in danger and do whatever it can to rectify the situation. Rudania, who is usually very touchy about who gets to board him has been known to make an exception for people who's fireproof elixir ran out because he has temperature controlled insides and doing so can save a life. Naboris may have just felt you'd been through enough that day or she may have been concerned that you would just get jumped again and wanted to prevent that from happening." She paused for a moment then continued "You know what? I should probably just use empathize rather then pity. Some people feel looked down on when someone uses the word pity even though right now I would be talking about a very literal one looking down on another rather then the much ruder metaphorical version."

When a scream came from some distance away Zelda realized "ARRRRG! I FORGOT TO WARN PEOPLE ABOUT THAT GORON'S BIRD!" and ran to hopefully stop the misunderstanding from getting worse.

Zelda guessed right. When Zelda found them Grumf and Floofy were being questioned by guards who didn't like that they'd just landed beyond the gates. Zelda stepped in and quickly explained the situation while a very shocked Grumf just kept his hands in the air until everything had settled down. "Sheesh. What a welcome." he said. Zelda told him "I am so sorry!"

Grumf replied "Eh....Floofy gets that sort of reaction a lot. I'm a little surprised you didn't expect that to warn them first but still."

Zelda told him "I was going to, I just didn't get a chance."

Jessa was still talking with Zelda about what happened. Jessa couldn't help but agree with the idea that there was some pity involved. And she didn't mind the bird comparison. She was about to say so when she heard the scream and saw the Kagarock, Floofy. She face palmed as Trixie made a beeline for the Goron and started doing a little happy dance as she circled the bird and it's rider.

"Trixie! Oh you silly thing!" Jessa scolded halfheartedly, rolling her eyes at her furry friend's antics, glancing at Zelda with an apologetic look as she scooped up the fox with a yelp of protest from the animal. "Oh honestly, you're so spoiled. Not everyone wants to play as soon as they see you, ya know." She told the fox, earning a licked chin as a result as she held the animal under her armpits from her forelegs.

"Sorry about that. Whenever Trixie sees someone she considers a friend, she makes a beeline for them and immediately wants to play. I just didn't want her getting in your way while you got off Floofy, or for him to get any ideas about eating her again." She apologized to the Goron, watching Grumf get off the strange faceless bird.

"Probably a good call." Grumf said as he dismounted. Floofy (after a bit of a surprised honk at the fox and was now acting like he didn't get startled) paused to preen non-existent feathers with a non-existent beak. Or at least...that's what he looked like he was doing. It could've been some other type of grooming.

Zelda said "You know....I'm not entirely sure our stables know how to deal with a....what was it again?"

"A Shadow Kargarok." Grumf replied. Zelda continued "Yes. I'm not actually sure where I should tell you to put it."

Grumf said "I COULD just keep him with me?"

"Into the castle?" Zelda asked thinking this to be sort of like someone asking to bring their horse indoors.

Grumf said "Well I mean....I could tie him somewhere out here but....I don't think that would be a very good idea. He's kind of naughty. It would really be better if I stay with him."

Zelda sighed then asked "Is he at least p.otty trained?"

Grumf admitted "Sort of? He USUALLY doesn't go inside. .....I do have an emergency diaper for him if you're still worried."

Zelda stared at him.

Grumf explained "What? This isn't the first time I've had to bring him indoors."

Zelda agreed "Alright. I'll allow you to bring your mount in with us. Though, I'll be trying to think of a better long term solution if you end up stuck here for a while. Speaking of which....did you find that artifact."

"No." replied Grumf continuing "We looked for HOURS and not a sign of it. Maybe it didn't come to this world with me. I'd like to check one more time before giving up but..."

Zelda said "If the divine beasts couldn't find it that's not a good sign. They can sense magic. Surely it should've drawn them to it. .....I'm sorry Grumf. You may be trapped here for a while."

Grumf however didn't seem too upset other then just being exhausted. He said "No worries. I love exploring new places anyway. Besides, if there was a way here there has to be a way back."

Zelda smiled and told him "Your optimism is very admirable."

The goron replied "Thanks!" then as the group would be walking towards the castle again Grumf just up and asked Jessa "So....are you a sheikah? I was talking with the bird guy about them because the beasts were sort of really a strong topic in my mind even as I was looking and he said one of the traits that sheikah had was white hair their whole lives. You don't have the eyes he mentioned but you do have the hair and you don't look that old or anything. See, Sheikah are almost extinct where I come from so I'm kind of curious."

Teba ~ Male ~ Rito & Vah Medoh & Zeraena

¥ Zeraena ¥

Zeraena quietly agreed with Draiil "He's definitely hiding something."

Then... Rudania started to lean down towards them. Zeraena was immediately on guard. Had the beast sensed something off about them? Just then it hit her that maybe that mirror thing would've left worse of a magic signature on Draiil than what the fairies could cover up. She would've cursed Draiil under breath for probably getting them both killed if A: he wasn't standing right next to her and B: Rudania hadn't roared right in their faces right then.

Zeraena of course also f.reaked out but was probably a little less panicky and a little more intentional with her retreat than Draiil had been. After they both got a ways away, she looked back to see if Rudania was getting ready to shoot them or something. He wasn't so... she kept running with Draiil.

Once it was eventually agreed to watch things from a distance again, Zeraena did just that. She watched the Divine Beast vigilantly for any signs of Yunobo getting down. Because of how long that took though, it slowly became a game of 'how long can I keep my eyes open'.

After what felt like hours, she finally noticed some movement. She blinked in case her eyes had been playing tricks on her, before confirming that it definitely was Yunobo off of Rudania and now rolling towards Hyrule castle. "Draiil! Draiil!" she hissed to both get her partner's attention, and wake him up in case he was sleeping. "That goron kid is heading towards Hyrule castle!"

⇔ Vah Medoh ⇔

[Neither of those possibilities sound good.] Rudania sent.

[Yep.] Medoh sent Rudania in agreement.

Medoh couldn't help but half-watch Rudania's interaction with the tourists. Being the one beast who's usually inaccessable to most tourists, Medoh oftentimes didn't have to deal with that sort of attention. He couldn't help but feel a little satisfied by the fact that Rudania was being annoyed by someone right after he'd been annoying to him. Sweet, sweet karma.

Still, this also didn't keep him from finding the two little people's fright after Rudania roared at them funny as well.

After a while of lazy circling, Medoh got a message from Rudania containing pictures of Yunobo sleeping on him from various angles along with the written message of [AAAWWWWW! LOOOOK!]. Medoh did find it a little cute. [Hah. Cherish THAT picture. I'm half convinced Revali didn't sleep at all. I never got a picture of him sleeping.] he sent, halfly just so Rudania knew he'd viewed the pictures (because he didn't want the lizard pestering him about it later.)

‡ Teba ‡

After a whole night of searching, Grumf and Floofy finally started to head back towards the castle. Teba was also feeling pretty drained by this point, but this wasn't a new feeling to him. He was quite used to pushing himself. Still, he knew when to keep going until you can't go any further and when to take a break. This was one of those instances where a break would be far more beneficial than detrimental. So, he flew back towards the castle, giving one last check on his way back. As he did so, he noticed Link plodding along back towards the castle as well. He decided to swoop down and check in with him.

"Find anything?" he asked as he landed next to the man, beginning to walk alongside him after doing so.
