Night Light Expansion is here!
Greeting Vikings! While we see that the Snoggletog event wasn't quite what everyone had expected, we at the SoD hope to reconcile and please you all by releasing "The Age of the Night Lights" expansion. We know you may have more than a few questions, so here are some that we can answer immediately:
Q: What if I already completed The Age of the Night Lights Expansion during Summarhildr?
A: For players who have already completed The Age of the Night Light Expansion during our Summer event, we will be providing a limited-time discounted bundled including all three (3) Night Lights and three (3) Age Up tickets! If you wish to replay the expansion, the story quest will be unlocked for all other Vikings that you own.
Q: Do I get a discount if I have played partway through the Age of the Night Light Expansion during Summarhildr?
A: Absolutely! We will be providing the expansion at a discounted price for all players who have already started the story quest during our Summer event
Q: Where do I start the story quest?
A: Talk to the Headmaster at the School to begin The Age of the Night Light Expansion questline.
Q: Is the Age of the Night Light expansion free for all members?
A: Yes! As with all other expansions, purchasing a membership unlocks The Age of the Night Light Expansion at no extra cost.
Q: Is the Age of the Night Light Expansion only available for a limited time?
A: No! Once The Age of the Night Light Expansion releases, it will be a permanent addition to our game. Once you unlock the expansion, it is unlocked forever.
Q: How do I Age up my Night Lights?
A: You must finish The Age of the Night Lights Expansion to unlock the ability to age up your Night Lights.
Let us know what you think by replying to this post! I will be here to answer any further questions you might have! We hope you continue the Snoggletog event as you unlock and age up your adorable Night Lights.
I'm playing the expansion for the second time and I enjoy it even more than at Summarhildr :-) Only when there is a cutscene does the game freeze on that cutscene the characters move but the cutscene does not turn off. I have to restart the game so I lose a piece of information that is among the cutscene. Could it be fixed? I also apologize for the curiosity but are you planning something similar for the next Summarhildr :-)?
Nice! I was absent for all of Summerhildr and have none of the night lights- if I bought the Age of the Night Lights Expansion, the regular one for the discounted price of 1063 gems, would I get a free night light at the end, just like one would during Summerhildr? Or would I just be buying the questline? Thanks!
Hey, Brynjolf! I hope you don't mind me adding another question here, but I was wondering what happens at the end of the expansion if you already have all three Night Lights? I already have all three of them (babies, because I wasn't around for the summer event) From how it reads, it sounds like it would give me another one of my choosing? I hope this isn't the case because, to me, it would be weird to have duplicates of them ^^;
Thank you!
I'm not Brynjolf but I can confirm you get another NL of your choosing, regardless if you have all 3. You can have more than one NL, so you can have a set of babies and a set of adults. I hope this helps you.
Thank you! I wish I had the option to decline it, but I guess I'll choose a favorite that I want aged up XD

Am I correct in thinking that this is offered as a kind of consolation for those who dislike the event dragon? Could this expansion be being introduced as an alternative because some people don't want to play the event (i.e. me)?
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this information, I'm just genuinely interested to know the reason(s) behind this release.
They were already planning on releasing the questline from Summarhildr as an expansion so this definitely wasn't something last minute they decided to do to try to make people happy again. My guess is that he meant the staff hoped to make the unhappy players happy again by releasing the long awaited questline from Summarhildr. They could've even released it earlier than planned to try to make the unhappy players happy again.
That makes sense. To be honest, I would have been surprised if they'd released it last-minute to console players, just because that doesn't really make sense for them. Brynjolf's wording just made me a little curious :p
I agree, I think they were planning to release it soon anyway.
I got the impression it was coming during Snoggletog, since so many Snoggletog quests revolve around the Night Lights. The Dreadfall ones mostly had nothing to do with them, so I figured the expansion would be returning.
I think there would have been more bugs and glitches if it had been an emergency appeasement gesture, lol. Seemed like there were about the usual amount.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun to play and I'm enjoying my little Night Lights!
Thank you for releasing another Expansion! This is the type of content I love. I like dragons, and events are fine, but I'm here for the plot and the lore. Please consider releasing more expansions in the future. I would probably play more if you did so.
I second this! I'd love to see more expansions.
I third this!
It would be great if expansions were cheaper though
Perhaps now you will understand to give the players a better, more sought-after final prize for doing these events. Humbanger is not a Hushboggle, a golden dragon could have been traded for another requested dragon. Having the Night Lights expansion saves your hide this time, but what about the next?
I definitely second this! My thoughts exactly.
I still prefer Humbanger. Let's be honest, Hushboggle doesn't have 50% of the potential that Humbanger achieved in the end, whether in terms of animations or functionality. Humbanger was an exotic, truly unique dragon, while Hushboggle has nothing but a dear to the people. Humbanger was one of the best hits of SoD...but it was a shame that Golden Dragon then was a complete failure, and threw all the hype to the ground
I do want to buy the expansion, however I can't open the store, every time I click on it the server times out, fix>?
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Sometimes that helps fix certain issues. If that doesn't work, then create a ticket about this issue on SoD's support site. You can get to the support site by clicking the picture of Hiccup and Toothless that says "Contact Customer Service" on the right side of the forum.
fix? baby pouncer's eyes looks amazing, while if you age up, it looks bad
Greeting Dragonburd,
Absolutely! The beginning of the story quest invloves the player getting awuainted with the Night Lights. you will be able to obtain your favorite out of the three. You will not be able to Age it up until the entre quest is completed however. I hope that answers your question.
Happy Snoggletog!
