New Frontier: Chapter 5: To Save a Thunderdrum
Chapter Five: To Save a Thunderdrum
Early the next morning Annabeth and Cazi had woken up to the sound of the breakfast call.
“*Yawn* they really know how to get you up in the morning,” Cazi said as she put her clothes on for the day.
Annabeth then got her bag and put her tool box and her weapons in.
“Hey I thought you were making weapons today?” Cazi asked as they went to the Great hall.
“We are but I’m making something different,” Annabeth said as she opened the door to the Great Hall.
When they got their meals they sat at their normal spots until Melanie, Serena, and Merida came up to them.
“Hey, Annabeth want to sit by us in the wilderness?” Serena asked as her Nadder started playing with Anora, Electic wasn’t so sure about it at first but then started chasing the Nadders around.
“Ummm…Sure why not,” Annabeth said as they saw Jessica coming in with their other friends.
“So catch you guys later alright?” Merida said as she called for her Nadder to come on.
“Yeah,” Cazi replied as she finished the rest of her food and threw her food in the trash.
“So what was that about?” Cazi asked as she sat back down.
“Oh you know did a few rounds of throwing axes and shooting arrows, and now I have fans,” Annabeth said as she threw her food out as well.
Just then the horn rang for the Vikings to go to class.
“Hey see you at lunch alright?” Annabeth said as she went into the wilderness.
“Yeah, come on Electic you’re gonna make us late for class,” Cazi shouted to her Skrill that was trailing after Anora.
“Alright now that everyone’s here we can start today’s lesson…making your own weapons,” Astrid announced as she held up her axe.
“Annabeth I thought I said we were making our own weapons today?” Astrid said as she saw weapons in her bag.
“I know you did I’m making something different though,” Annabeth said as she laid her weapons on the table.
“Ok you have until lunch to finish them and when we come back you will be demonstrating them now begin,” Astrid said.
“Alright, Anora ready to help me make the impossible weapon ever?” Annabeth asked as Anora shook her tail.
“I knew you were going to do that let’s get started then,” Annabeth said as she started taking apart her axe.
After three hours Astrid had called time on the projects.
“Alright after lunch you will be demonstrating your weapons you have made,” she announced as the Vikings left for lunch.
After waiting for Cazi for thirty minutes she finally arrives.
“What took you so long?” Annabeth asked as Cazi gave her a lunch bag.
“The lunch line was a mile long and then ran into these three,” Cazi said as three Vikings came her way.
“Hey squirt, how have you been?” Trevothor asked as he got off of Fog.
“Sierra, Hervard, Trevothor,” Annabeth exclaimed as she gave them a hug.
*Squawk* Charcoal roared in Sierra’s ear.
“Aaarggh! Charcoal!” Sierra screamed as she threw him off.
“So Cazi tells us that you have a different type of dragon,” Hervard said ignoring Sierra’s scream.
“Yeah I do, Anora,” Annabeth called.
Just then Anora ran up to Annabeth and stares at them and the other dragons.
“Umm…Anna I thought I you were going to choose a tough dragon,” Trevothor said as he picked Anora up.
“This is a skinny sn…ouch!” Trevothor said as he sat Anora down.
“What happened,” Sierra asked.
“She spiked me,” Trevothor whined.
“Cute and deadly I like her,” Sierra said as she picked Anora up.
“Do you always like the things that hurt me?” Trevothor said.
“Yes,” Sierra answered.
After about three minutes the horn blew for the next half of class.
“Alright see you at dinner!” Sierra said as she hopped on Screech and left.
“Alright class time for you to demonstrate your weapons,” Astrid said as everyone had come back from lunch.
“Annabeth would you like to go first?” Astrid asked as she saw that her weapon wasn’t as big as the others.
“Sure,” Annabeth said as she grabbed her small weapon.
“Umm, Anna you sure that you had enough time with this?” Astrid asked as she saw it.
“Yes,” Annabeth said as she touched one button on her weapon and an axe popped out.
“Wow!” the class exclaimed as they saw how big it was.
“And if you like the close up combat like I do use this,” Annabeth said as she hit another button and a sword popped out.
Astrid was really taking a liking to Annabeth now seeing that she loved close up combat like she did.
“Alright Annabeth you passed the weapon creation test with flying colors,” Astrid said.
After three hours of watching everyone show off their weapons, the lessons were over.
“Alright great performance guys,” Astrid said as she climbed on Stormfly.
“Hey you guys need a ride?” Astrid asked Annabeth.
“No we’re fine, Cazi is meeting us,” Annabeth said.
“Alright,” Astrid said.
Anora started chasing birds until she heard something.
“What was that?” Annabeth asked.
“You want to check it out?” Annabeth asked Anora.
*Squawk* Anora responded as she went after the sound.
“I should know by now that she would always want to go for the sound,” Annabeth said as she ran the way Anora went.
“Really you can’t even teach a dragon to listen to you!” a teen female Viking said as she tried roping a vine on an iceberg.
“Really funny Asvord,” a male Viking said as he tried to get the baby Thunderdrum over to him.
Just then Annabeth and Anora arrived on the beach.
“What’s going on?” Annabeth asked.
“My brother’s Thunderdrum that is so hardheaded won’t come back and now he’s stuck in between a boulder,” the girl named Asvord with blondish hair said.
“Would you like some help?” Annabeth asked.
“Sure my name is Jarl Mollerson and these are my sisters Asvord and Elsa,” Jarl said.
“Okay, let me see it doesn’t look like a big iceberg so a well-placed fireball should do the trick,” Annabeth said.
“Alright Spiker,” Asvord called as her deadly nadder came over to her.
“Spiker shoot!” Asvord said as she pointed to the iceberg.
The young hatchling shot the berg and the berg melted and the baby Thunderdrum flew towards them.
“Hey Fredrick,” Jarl said as the Thunderdrum started roaring.
“Alright Fredrick I’m happy to see you too,” Jarl said as he held his green and yellowish Thunderdrum.
“Thank you Annabeth,” Asvord said as she shook her hand .
“You’re welcome, hey why don’t you guys have lunch with me and my friends?” Annabeth offered.
“Sure why not,” Jarl said as they started to the Dinning Hall.
