And that's intellectually with 4 Ls...yes

The only thing I have against it is it doesn't really look like a dragon.  I know you're trying to do your own thing, but it looks more like a mystic wolf kinda thing rather than a dragon.

However, this dragon is very pretty ^-^.  I love it's colours and the shading is very well done.  The right wing is in a bit of an...awkward position XD, but it's nothing to take off any points for.

As far as it not looking really like a dragon, I think the thought put into the design and the originality makes up for it.

I always found that to be such a silly excuse. What does a dragon look like? When does something stray from being a dragon? What defines 'dragon'? Dragons appear in many folklores and come in all shapes and sizes. Mammals, reptiles, flurry, scaled, feathered or both. Standard red'n muscly European Dragon versus the Nihon no Ryu... Cockatrice...  Not to mention the Sárkány dragon, which is a giant with multiple heads... In a humanesque form.

And then I'm not even tackling dragons in popular new media.

I never really understood this. How can a fake thing not be enough of the other fake thing, which doesn't even have a mold to begin with? :0

I personally LOVE seeing stuff that isn't 'conventionally dragon-y'. HTTYD taught me this, where dragons can have twenty billion legs or look like a frog and still become the main character haha

The species is actually based on a mix between fruit bats and foo dogs. I'm not much into wolves, myself.

If you could redline the wing for me, I'd appreciate it.! 'awkward' only gets me so far when it comes to realising a mistake. I gotta see it to correct it, but I think I might know what you mean haha

Well, dragons are typically

Well, dragons are typically reptiles.  Even with fur, feathers, scales, or even being in a human-ish form, the usually look reptilian.  I think I would have personally liked it more if it weren't for the horse-like tail.  I wasn't trying to say I didn't like the design for it, I LOVE it, I was just pointing out that it didn't look exactly like a "dragon" to me, rather than some fan mythical species.

I'd also like to point out the thing on its nose.  For some reason, for me it takes away from the feeling.  And I couldn't get my head on what it would look like without it to really judge the face.  Maybe to you it's not a problem, I just found it more difficult to get a good image of the actual dragon.

Most of the time though, I don't consider things to be dragons when they have things like:

cat faces (I don't mean modled after a cat like Toothless, I mean an actual cat face with the ears, fur, whiskers, everything!  Yes, these do exist XD).  Sometimes other animals, but I see cats the most.

Paws (lawl, wut?)

That's honestly about it XD.  The paws aren't always that bad if drawn correctly, but the really big fluffy, fat paws don't really speak "dragon" to me.  Your paws are fine, it's just the over exaggerated ones I'm talking about.

And you're right.  It's har.d to say what exactly a dragon is, since it's changed so much over the years.

By the wing, I mean how it's bent/folded back is just a little weird.  Also, if you are going to keep the position, you should ajust the claw on the tip of the outer finger.  It should be bent the other way, otherwise it would be facing tbe wrong way.

((Great artwork, I know XD))

I may be wrong, it's kinda har.d to tell with the position XD.

Typically is the key. I've seen so many non-reptillian dragons in popular media; I'm not sure where you're pulling your sources from. Plus, I see you doing the same thing with the fan-dragon that you're posting: Mammalian features. I think I even see some fur on the top of its head. Would yours also not be 'dragon-y' enough? How about the many dragons in the HTTYD-verse? So many cool things that stray from the mold and I'm glad that they exist!

Like I said, I based the species on foo dogs for some part. The tail is a mix of several styles of foo dog tails which I conjoined with the manes specifically so I can also count in the 'tailless' foos. I don't think it resembles a horse tail that much actually. Horse tails are long and don't tuft up as much, if not at all.

The snout cover as an addition I planned to add along with other armour, but I never got to that part. I left the snout bit on because it looked better than without imo. Might have been a bad choice, that I don't know!

I don't mind dragons with paws. I can already think of so many cool things that could be created-- wew. Ideas. Like I said, I'm open for literally anything because not only are dragons not real, it also removes this huge limit when it comes to ideas, originality and all sorts of cool stuff.

But the dragon isn't stretching its wing out as much as it is on the other side. It's foldedm causing the webbing to bulge outwards making the last finger not visible from the angle (same goes for other wing), and the second to last only partially. I do see that I made it too square though, and the webbing's lineart should have been rounded. I don't understand your point entirely, but you can draw over my picture if you want. I'm not good at these things at all, ww

here's the breakdown of how I see it:

If you can tell me or draw wherever I messed up I appreciated it. I fiddled with the wings so long that my judgment was a bit off in the end. This happens to me a lot LOL

By animal features, I mean

By animal features, I mean it's literally just the animal's face.  But, point taken about mine being mammalian XD.

I'm gonna clarify the paws thing.  I mean paws that are overly exaggerated.  I don't know why, but it seems recently there has been an outbreak of cat things everywhere at my school.  Paws are fine, so long as they're not larger than 90% of the body.  These are just fan dragons (for anything) that I've seen from friends and classmates, so I don't know much about what types of fan dragons you see a lot.

Ohhhhhhhh.  OK XD.  That picture clarifies things a lot, thanks XD.

ha! Don't worry about it. Your dragon looks adorable aiehter way :þ

Ohh kind of like 2006 deviantart dog-and-wolf things? I understand what you mean. I don't like the style, either. I like smaller paws, but if a dragon has more reptillian-esque appendages I usually tend to exaggerate those. I just like drawing anything that remotely resembles a hand-- lol

I see everything, I think! Sometimes I have an idea for a cool new dragon which seems so niche and original, and then I find someone who's already been there and done that- ahh

Does it make sense like that? Otherwise feel free to scribble over it-- I don't mind ww

I'm only 12, so I wasn't really on Deviantart during 2006 to know, lawl.

OMG, same!  That's me when it comes to names >.<  I usually Google the names I come up with to make sure they aren't some, like, well known character or something XD.

Yeah, it does :D!

((BTW, thanks for the compliment on my dragon :D!))

  I found his egg in the tunnels, and Hiccup let me keep him. When he hatched, he looked at me for one second, and then, well, decided he wanted to be free. He jumped out of the stables, and started slithering to the forest. I chased him, freeing him from bushes, rescuing him from drowning, and TRYING to feed him when he was hungry. One day, a wild smokebreath appeared, and for some reason, Da King thought he was, "The King", and decided to take him on. He started dealing blows to it, but the smokebreath won in the end. Before it laid the final blow, though. I jumped and used myself as a human sheild. It hurt, but I was fine. I called in Sonarus, and he saved us. Zippleback: Sunrise and Sunset (Aka: Dawn and Dusk, Pimp and Pump)

  Kinda weird... Ok, so, I went to trader Johan's eggs, and found a dragon egg chest. I asked him could I buy it, since I had just enough gems. So, he said yes, and I got a rumblehorn! Yay! One of my most favorite dragons! Excitedly, I took it home, and put it in the hearth. Later on, I checked on it, and hatched it... then, to my surprise, a baby zippleback popped out! What?! I looked at it, it looked at me, and it was silent for a few minutes. Ok... weirdness attack. Whatever, he's still a baby dragon. I held it, and it's left head turned toward the sunrise in the distance. So I called the left one Sunrise. We played for a bit, then the sun was setting!   So that's why Sun Rose leaves one a year, she's going to visit her sister, Mooonstone. How did I know this? I saw it myself. When she left, me and Thunderquake went to she where she went every year (Yeah, kinda like a stalker, but who knows if she goes mental and starts killing everything? Actually, TMI), she flew into a cave. I waited until night, and suddenly, a silver nadder appeared, and flew out. It came back at dawn, and after it went in, Sun Rose went out. They did this, then I couldn't take it anymore. I need to find out who this dragon is. I crept in, and the Silver Nadder shreiked, then flashed it's wings at my face. Startled, I stepped back. It snarled, and backed away. I decided another plan. When I saw Sun Rose, I signaled her to come to me. She first, well, was startled, then frightned. After face-palming myself, I tossed a fish on teh ground. She ate it, and after gaining her trust, I stepped in the cave with Sun Rose, and soon enough, I found out that this new dragon was Sun Rose's sister, and I took her home.

Typhoomerang: Topspin (Aka: Big guy, Wirlwind, FOOOM) - Male -

Bio:

  This one is a sad one... So there was this typhoomerang that I knew very well. We met in a forest, and even though we were friends, I didn't tame him. Dunno why I didn't, he was awesome. So, a few months late, he found a mate and they had a baby typhoomerang. Then suddenly, his mate died. I felt very sorry for him, and because he had to feed the baby, he left the baby typhoomerang with me. We formed a bond, but in the Chilling Horror month, he went to get some fish... and never came back. I waited for days, and I fed the baby myself with some perch. My friend never came back, so I chose to adopt the baby myself. At night, he would have terrible nightmares, and he would go to my room and sleep with me. He had a serios fear of Backbiter, and I was sorta heartbroken that even though Backbiter wanted to play with Topspin and wanted to stick with him, Topspin always was scared of him and either attacked or flew away. But I know, that one day, the nightmares will pass, and the two dragons will grow to respect each other. My typhoomerang... my Topspin.

Just anything that doesn't involve Backbiter or sitting around

Intresting Fact:

He kills eels for sport... I hate that.

Sandwraith: Sandstorm (Aka: Puppy Dragon, He-who-burrows) - Male -

Bio:

  It's funny how a fishing trip can befriend a dragon. So I was spending some time on my own (Raising a ton of dragons is tough, I need a break), and I was fishing and camping out on the beach. I just caught a bunch of halbut and salmon, and I was frying a salmon. *Growl* Huh? I looked up, then left and right. I then felt the ground move, and I looked down. Two eyes stared back up... "YAH! WHAT ON EARTH?!" I jumped back. At that time, I never knew what a sandwraith was. I'm new here, ok? The sandwraith exploded form the sand, and looked at me. Silence for a few seconds... then he wadled to my basket of fish and started eating everything like he didn't care. "Hey! That's my fish!" He didn't listen, and ate all of it. He then turned, and studied me. He looked like a nightfury, so I was intrigued. He then jumped and flopped on me and started licking my face. "You're like toothless!" I laughed, and he licked some more. "Hey, boy! Stop it!" He kept on licking me, and he soon decided that follow me was a better option than chilling in the sand waiting for who-knows-what to go over him. Smart kid.

Personality:

Playful, Smart, Seems to always be hungry

Favorite Food:

Salmon (DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO FISH FOR ONE?! *shouts at Sandstorm, he licks me and wadles away.)

Favorite thing to do:

Act majestic

Intresting fact:

First dragon I knew nothing about in the beginning.

Seashocker: Aquashock and Waterskiz (Aka: Zapduo) - Male -

Bio:

  So, a few days ago, I received a present. Not sure who sent it, or why, but I got it. It was wraped in colored leather, and when I opened it, I found an egg. I couldn't tell the species though. It was colored in multicolors, with "Thanks Hyrith" written in bright yellow paint. I shrugged. The only way to find out the species is to hatch it. When I picked it up, I was shocked. No, not the suprised shock. The lightning shock. I fumbled with it, and Telsabeam jumped from the roof. I think she sensed it was a skirll, so I shuddered. I don't have anything against skrills, just after Telsabeam almost burned down my house becasue she saw a fly, I've been a bit careful with her. I do not need another crazy lightning-maniac shooting around my house. I ploped it down on the hearth, and after a few minutes, it shook. I picked it up, and took it to the lavepit for it to hatch. It never did. It just shook, but it never came out. Just before Telsabeam was about to crack it open, Waterspout stared at the egg, and shot a small stream of water. The water touched it, then it cracked. Puzzled, I dipped my hand in water, and touched the egg. Where I touched, it cracked. Then, I actually figured out something. I took the egg to the sea, and placed it under the water. It shuddered, then a seashocker was born. I was extremly happy, and I thought all my dragon were too. Well, except Telsabeam. She grumbled a sign of disappointment, and wadled away. XD

Personality:

Aquashock is agressive and fierce. Extremly loyal, and will attack anything that he thinks is harming me.

Waterskiz is playful and wild. He loves doing tricks, and is usually the reason why they have so much scars. For some reason, he's addicted to shrimp.

They both work together as a team, probabily because they know that if they argue, they won't go anywhere.

Favorite Food:

Aquashock: Squid

Waterskiz: Shrimp :\

Favorite thing to do:

Bounce on the waves, SO FUN WHEN RIDING THEM!!!

Intresting Fact:

We Are Not Alone, A Chinese and Western Crossover (Later on)

5 months after Hyrith disappeared...

  "Who's there?" Jin sat up on his bed. It was 12 in the night, and most of the academy was asleep. The footsteps sounded louder this time. Jin pushed away the covers, and put on his combat glove. As soon as his hand slipped in, a small flame sparked in his palm. The footsteps stopped, and a creaking sound was heard. Silence. He waited for a while, and figuring that there was nothing, slipped off his glove and pulled the covers over his head.

  "AHHHHHHH!" A scream peirced the cold air, and Jin fell out of his bed. In a hurry, he shoved the glove over his hand, and opened the door. He lit his glove, and the flame ignited in his hand. Across the balcony, a hooded dark figure stepped out of a room. Jin stood in a battle stance. The flame in his palm grew into a fireball, and Jin shouted to the figure.

  "Who are you? Take off the hood!"

  The hooded man turned to Jin, and removed his hood, revealing an old man with a long white, whispy beard. The fireball died down. "Master Zhang?"

  "Yes, my young student. Why are you here? You should be in your room sleeping, not outside watching the snow fall."

  "I woke up because of the scream. Did you hear it too? Did someone get hurt?"

  "That was the reason I came, young one. Go to bed, the final practices starts tomorrow. Do you want to get the blade or not?"

  "Yes master, but safety is more important. Mind if I investigate with you?"

  JIn bowed, and the old master smiled. "Jin, investigate this floor. I'll take the top and bottom floors. Meet after 5 minutes." Jin looked at his old master. He was not usually that kind, but Jin shook that thought out of his mind. He needed to see if someone was hurt.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  "Found anything yet?" Master Zhang glared at Jin, and he looked into the final room. Another sleeping student. "Nothing, master." Master Zhang looked at him, and smiled. "Well, I think it's settled. Let's have a seat, shall we?" Jin shrugged. The master jumped, and sat on the railing. Jin climed up to him.
 "Anything, Master?"
 "Nothing yet, child. Forget this. It's a good night to be alive, is it?"
 "Yes, I agree. You checked every room?"
 "Every room, youngling. How about you-" A howl penetrated the air. A Howler flew towards Master Zhang, and the yellow and black dragon growled. Wait. Jin looked at the Howler, and noticed something. That was Dai Pow, Icarus's dragon. He never submitted to anyone, not even the master, except Icarus. Dai Pow circled Master Zhang. He glared at him, and then glared at Zhang.  He kneeled, and Zhang grumbled under his breath. "Curses. Stupid howler." He then looekd at Jin. "Let me see Dai Pow first." He jumped off the railing, and Jin looked as he kneeled and clasped the wingless dragon's head, speaking some words. JIn nudged myself over, then he felt something. JIn looked down, and he saw blood on the railing, where the master's hand was. Sticky, freash blood.
   The last room...
  Jin shoved past the master, and to the final room. He didn't check it, since it was the room the master came out of. Jin ran past, and saw a stream of blood running from under the door. He slammed it open, and he gasped in shock.
 Mei Hua layed dead in her bed, a large bloody gash in the middle of her chest. Her mouth was open in shock. Jin ran to her, and noticed that the blood was freash. Impossible! The master just was in here! Master Zhang would never commit such a crime! A hand then went over Jin's shoulder, sending a chill up his spine. The master glared at him, his mouth curing into a evil grin. Shocked, Jin tried to speak. "What? How? WHY?!" The master smiled. "Yes, Jin. I am the one. Sorry, but I can't have any witnesses." Suddenly, Master Zhang's form flickered, and instead of the Master from before, a red haired boy, stood in his place. He suddenly jabbed his palm at Jin's chest. A blade then shot out, coming out of Jin's back. Jin gasped, and he fell to the ground. His vision slowly filled with black dots, and he thought his last thought.
Banded Featherlure
Stats:
Class: Tidal
Length: 30 ft.
Wingspan: 47 ft.
 Weight: 973 lbs
Speed: 17
Attack: 12
 Firepower: 14
Shot Limit: 7
 Armor: 11
Venom: 0
Jaw Strength: 8
Stealth: 12
Rather than scales, this tidal class dragons entire body is covered in thick fur, with feathered wings and tail. They have a long sleek form, and a medium length neck. Their large wings aid them in flying at fairly fast speeds, though they are more well known for the agile maneuvers they perform in air. The species name is derived from the way they fish, by placing their feathery plumed tail into the water and using it as a lure. When a fish bites, they lift their tail swiftly into the air, before slamming it onto the ground. Because of this their tails are quite muscular, and make a powerful weapon which can easily knock an opponent off balance. They do not mind getting wet, and swim quite well, enjoying it even. They typically spend quite a large portion of their time grooming, which spreads natural oils throughout their body, and thus grants water resistance to their feathers.
The Banded Featherlure is a medium-sized dragon, slightly larger than a Night Fury, but quite far from the size of larger dragons like the Stormcutter. Their fire can range from blue to purple, with purple being more rare, and their flame is continuous. They typically live in packs of 8-12, with a single alpha as the leader. They are generally docile and only become aggresive if they are threatened. They mainly live very close to the sea, making their home in higher cliffside caves, though quite a few live nearer to rivers or lakes. They are very social and intelligient, and their methods of communication are similar to that of a wolf. They have sharp vision and excellent hearing, and a fairly good sense of smell, though not anywhere near tracker class level. They have a tendancy to sometimes zone out while absorbed in grooming, and because of this can fall prey to surprise attacks. Being in a pack makes up for this, since a couple of members can be on alert for any danger, and this duty is typically rotated between members. A lone Featherlure seperated from it's pack however, would have trouble with this. One of their greatest weaknesses is thier lack of scales, making them more vulnerable in battles involving tooth and claw. Their fur is fireproof though, and they excel in long distance fights using both their fire and long tail as their main method of attack. Their ranking as a tidal class dragon is solely based on their close vicinity to the sea and other bodies of water, as well as how and where they hunt.
Bit down lately :(
Here's my dragon:the Thundering Twister.Here's the description and stuff...Credits to Wyndbain for letting me use their website...
APPEARANCE:The Thundering Twister is a dragon that has a long,flexible and muscular body with rock-hard skin.It has an extremely flexible tail as well.Thundering Twisters often have stripes all over the body,legs,head and tail.They have a 'thumb' behind their legs for grasping things firmly.They also possess sharp spines all over the back of the body.The wings are strong but if not used for a long time(a year or so),may become absolutely useless.Thundering Twisters also have slightly-furry ears at the side of the head to communicate and to show their expression(When happy,the ears are perked up.When sad,the ears lie flat and limp.When angry,ears are bent well back and are straight as an arrow.When scared,both ears are in different directions except upwards.)
ABILITIES:The Thundering Twister has a special attack move.When threatened and is hovering in the air,it may decide to suddenly curl up in a ball(back facing out) and drop down onto the enemy with a sound like a thousand thunderbolts to stun the enemy,thus the name.The sound is produced by a large space left around the underside of the body(see Image 1(I apologise for the ugly writing and drawing))when it rolls into a ball.When the Twister hits the ground,all the air in the space is expelled in less than a moment,creating a massive sound.Then,it will roll around and try to impale the enemy(or enemies)on the spikes it has on its back,thus having hard skin to withstand rolling about frequently.It also may choose to light itself on fire like a Nightmare,but the fire isn't as intense.The Twister also has blue fire,which is hotter than normal fire.Thus,this dragon is placed in the Stoker Class.
WEAKNESSES:With so many strengths mentioned above,this dragon also has many weaknesses.It dies when in contact with Blue Oleander flowers and gets violently sick when within a mile of the poisonous flower.The Twister is also not very strong and does not have very good night vision.It is also not very stealthy and does not fly very fast.It has slow reflexes and is generally not a good dragon for battle.
SPECIAL FEATURES/FACTS:The Twister can adjust the angle of the spines on its back and has retractable claws.Also,this dragon is one of the most agile and flexible dragons in the history of dragons.Its pitch rate is higher than average.As mothers,Twisters abandon their babies as eggs and leave them in kind-of-obvious places to be discovered by other dragons or humans.Also,Twisters are too curious for their own good and sometimes get in trouble for poking their snouts where they shouldn't.
By the way,please do check out my story about me and my Thundering Twister Castaway on Wattpad!This dragon was created by me mostly,with some advice from wonderfully creative(and random if I may add) best friends.Hope you like this dragon of mine and hope you check out my story!Feedback,good or bad,welcome!
My full Viking name is Yannied Lepsy,but you can just call me Yannied :)
I own a female Deadly Nadder named Jelsa(First ever dragon) and a male Whispering Death named Dreyar(I got him from a quest),a male Gronckle named Rockgobbler(He has an extremely short attention span and often daydreams),a male Skrill named Elektrikshock(I got him from a Battle Event),a female Shockjaw named Poisonbreath(She's very shy),a female Changewing named Toxic(she's rather vain but she's really sweet) and a male Speed Stinger named Lightning(he might not reach the sky but his dreams do).
I love them all and regularly keep their energy bar and happiness bar full.I love all dragons in existence,even if they don't belong to the HTTYD franchise or books.Basically,I am a huge fan of HTTYD!
My very own Dragon Training License!
My first dragon,Jelsa the Deadly Nadder.She's the oldest and also the wisest.She also takes care of my other dragons when I'm busy adventuring.She's around twenty now,but is still fast and competitive,bless her.
This is my second dragon,Dreyar the Whispering Death.He may seem menacing with his wide-open mouth,but he's just trying to catch the snowflakes.He's always being silly like this,but I love him for it.
This is my third dragon,Rockgobbler the Gronckle.He's the most adventurous and restless of my dragon pack,but when he isn't in 'adventuring mode',he likes to just stand on sea-stacks and admire the view.
This is my fourth dragon,Elektrikshock the Skrill.He's generally quite a chilled out dragon,but he's always ready to do anything that I ask him to do.The thing that he loves to do most?Sleep.
This is my fifth dragon,Poisonbreath the Shockjaw.She actually prefers the company of the narwhals out in the seas around the School to the company of other dragons,but I don't mind,so long as she's happy,I'm happy.
This is my sixth dragon,Toxic the Changewing.She's rather vain but she's still really sweet.She loves night flights and often we go exploring during the night and see the beauty of the night-time world.
This is my seventh dragon,Lightning the Speed Stinger.He may not reach the skies,but his dreams do.With the help of his other six fellow dragons,he was carried to the highest point of Berk to achieve his dream of seeing the world from above.
I'm proud of all my dragons,because they have grown up to be the best dragons I have ever trained.But the dragon that I will always love the most is my dead Deadly Nadder Mixedup.She was the best companion I've had for years,and will always be by my side wherever I go,even though she is gone...
And if he were MY godchild, I would let him wear LONG shorts!!!!
((Hope ya feel better!))
It's kinda har.d to judge the appearence since you used the dragon maker.  I don't mean this in a bad way, but it does make it more difficult.
You may want to take a look at the classification.  I get the whole fire being hotter thing, but keep in mind the Nadder has the hottest fire (hot as the sun I think XD) and is still a sharp class.  The name "Thundering" implies a tidal or strike class dragon much more than it does a stoker.  Also, the rolling up in a ball thing seems like a boulder ability to me.  While this isn't really all that important, it is something I would consider revising :].
You say it is one of the most flexible and agile dragons.  I would say for this to be true, you should go with a more serpentine body type.  Again, it's har.d to say because you used the dragon maker.
Along with that, you may want to add a few more weaknesses that counter the strengths.  Maybe a weakspot?  It is nice how you added some disadvantages, but I think there should be something that can break its skin.  The dragon is no where in the Mary sue/Gary Stu territory, it's just my personal opinion.
OVERALL RATING:
8.5
There's some of my personal thoughts about the dragon :).  If you manage to get a drawn image of the Thunderwing twister, I would really love to see it.
Daggerthrash!
Felt like I should toss these guys in just for fun. Sadly, all I have is this concept sketch that was lying about.
Name: Daggerthrash
Class: Sharp
The Daggerthrash mainly calls lush, tropical environments its hope, but can also be found in any areas with dense tree coverage (albeit with much duller colouring than their tropical coutnerparts). Its short but broad wings allow it to flit nimbly among the trees, ensuring a hasty escape from predators and effortless pursuit of prey. If fleeing an enemy isn’t an option, the Daggerthrash can use the weapons which give it its name - the sharp blade-like horn on its snout and its razor sharp tailtip can slice through a number of materials - including solid wood. The ridges along its back are just as sharp, and are a good deterrent to anything attempting a back-attack. These dragons spend most of theri time in the trees, and rarely come down from them.
Despite being generally pointy, the Daggerthrash doesn’t go looking for trouble, being fairly docile, and incredibly curious of whatever it doesn’t deem a threat. Though they mainly eat meat, they are quite fond of the occasional fruits and honey, if they manage to get it. The best way to attract a Daggerthrash would be to offer it honey. Their fire is bright green with the added bonus of letting off a terrible stench - most of the use of their fire would come from trying to deter a foe with the fire. The terrible smell can linger for up to 45 minutes after the flame has burned out.
Carried away by a sea of awesome fandragons
Looks great! Love the originality and concept. Makes me wonder a bit though- was the head based off of a seashockers? I can see how it's similar. It's not a bad thing though. Just curious.
I really like your art concept of the Daggerthrash. Points for originality and great bio overall.
Nah, the head came from a
Nah, the head came from a rejected head design for my Waverazers. While redesigning them, I attempted this weird sort of curvy goblin shark head design. It didn't suit the Waverazers, but I liked it enough to still use it. So with some tweaking it went to these guys instead. The snout is more of a vertically flattened blade shape rather than a Seashocker's pointy snout.
And thanks!
The Cycloneblast Returns
Edit:
The picture is the Cycloneblast being recruited by the Foreverwing.
The Cycloneblast
Class: Tidal
Habitat: Marshes and reefs
Fire type: Radiant blue sparkler
Trainable: Unclear
This chaotic dragon loves to really stir the pot quite literally! This storm loving dragon loves to destroy everything in its path. Stirring up cyclones not only is this dragon’s main defense it also helps stop droughts, flush out polluted rivers, and mainly keeps the land and sea healthy. Cycloneblast’s are also able to determine when bad weather is about to happen. They will chirp rather loudly to warn other dragons to take shelter.  Very social dragons when trying to locate another member they use echolocation through their unique vocal cords. The Cycloneblast can make a variety of sounds to communicate with its fellow members. There is one leader and a co-leader that is trained to someday be a leader in the twister (group of cyclones).  Swimming is a breeze for these cool dragons. They will lie on their backs using their wings to help them stay afloat and their tail like rudder. Very agile in water they can hold their breath for about ten minutes before needing to come for air.
Appearance:
The Cycloneblast is mainly a dark color to be able to blend in with the murky water or dark sky. Those spikes are on their back are used as intimidation to warn other predators off that they mean business. Their long bodies are used to help them swim effortlessly through the water or do stunts in the air. The Cycloneblast’s small eyes help protect them against the elements. The cool crown of horns around their head is not only nice to look at but they help them attract a potential mate. Though if that doesn’t succeed then the Cycloneblast will sometimes create huge cyclones instead hoping to impress the female.
The Cycloneblast reminds me a bit of a neat cross between a night fury and a smoke break ^-^.
I like how it uses its wings and tail to float.
Just out of curiosity, how is it able to tell when bad weather is coming?
It seems like you put a lot of thought into the Cycloneblast's design.  Nice job :D!
Things to work on:  I think it would be nice for you to describe how they know about the weather.  Do they have a special organ or something?  An increased sense of smell?  Other than that, I'd say your dragon is pretty good ^ ^.
Hi! :)
They have very very good hearing. Kind of like sharks their ears are not visible on the outside. But yeah most animals can probably smell a storm coming along a Cycloneblast can hear it way before any other dragon.
Thank you so much for the review! (not too long at all) :D
Your subject made me feel threatened -sniffle-
Originality: 6 (sorry for the low rating! The -4 points is because they look almost identical to egg-biters.. However, if you drew this before egg-biters were released, I'll cut ya some slack)
Realisim: 8
Overall awesomeness: 15
Comments: I like how they help the enviorment! However, it seems to contradict their destructive personality. However again, it could just mean that they love to destroy things, but will also clean up the mess they make afterward. Very responsible! And, because they sorta look like egg-biters I kinda like them, considering I like the egg-biter's design. Also, who doesn't love a tidal class dragon?
Long story short I wanted more reviews so thank you! :)
It's okay and yeah wow they do look like them! I didn't even put two and two together hahaha.
Anyways I can point out they don't have spikes on their backs, Cycloneblasts smaller than them, their horns are ringed, spade tails, webbed feet, their eyes are smaller, their bodies are longer, and they don'ts have that lower back tooth sticking out. But yeah they both look very similar.... Also thank you for the review sorry for hounding you for it. :)
Oh it's no problem at all! I like when people review my work, to the point where I hound them about it! It doesn't really surprise me you wanted alot of people to critique your work.
And seeing them side by side, they do have a good amount of differences. Maybe they could be related! (like sand wraiths and dessert wraiths or snifflehunches and sneezlehunches)
Hi! :)
Hahaha maybe! I dunno they are also both in different classes as well. Egg Biters like to well...bite people and Cycloneblasts like to stir up some trouble. And yes putting them side by side helps me see the differences as well (I'm a very visual person). :)
Lawl, this is like, the first fan-species I've really ever done XD.
This was originally meant more as a Dragon Cave thing, but with no other dragon to post at the moment I was just like, "Lol, whatevs?"  These guys weren't exactly made for realism, but again, whatevs XD?
Introducing:  The Northern Winterwing
Class:  Tidal
The Northern Winterwing is a rare dragon usually only seen during the month of March (and most common in the first 2/3 of march).  It usually swims up on shore just before the weather starts warming up (as much as it can in Berk, lawl), and are almost always seen with another Winterwing.  At night, their star-like fins resemble the starry night sky.
These dragons are almost never seen on land, but what would you expect from a dragon with a fish tail?  They have wing-like fins that are used to help propel them through the water they call home at increadible speeds.  These fins are useless in flight, though.  Like most tidals, they live in the sea.
Northern Winterings have somewhat flat faces.  They are known for their strange, rabbit-like ears and fins that adorn their heads.  They have deep black eyes with a hint of blue or green in them as well.   The ears ((Come on guys, we need more canon dragons with visible ears XD.))  do help the dragon some with hearing, but these dragons tend to rely more on intuition and their gut-feelings rather than actual senses.  A Winterwing's wings and most other fins are marked with a pattern that resembles the night sky.  Their coloring can vary between dark aqua blue and green, but are almost always dark aqua blue.  The strange whisker like growths behind their heads don't have a purpose, but add a somewhat mystical feel to the dragon.  Another noticable feature is the Aqua-marine-like scale on the end of the Winterwing's tail.  This scale is not actually a gemstone, but is considered very valuble by many.  These dragons survive underwater due to gills that line their sides (Not visible in the drawing).
Winterwings are more peaceful than a lot of other dragons.  They dislike fighting, and try to avoid it when possible.  However, this doesn't mean that they won't fight back if necessary.  And, if they do fight back, you're in for a world of hurt.  These dragons have long, sharp claws that are known for being able to easily slice through skin.  Their calming nature often leads many other dragons to flock to them during March when they are msot commonly spotted.  They give off a serene feeling, and it is said that they are known to help calm fights.
Northern Winterwings usually have a dreamy expression on their face.  As if they're fascinated by everything around them.  And, they probably are.  These dragons are fascinated and curious about almost everything.  You might think this would lead them to trouble, but their great sense of their surroundings will rarely fail them.  Their sense plus their general caution usually helps them escape tight situations.  Also, just because they are cautious doesn't mean Winterwings are without valor.  They will face about anything of those they care about are at risk ((Lawl, so original right XD))
These guys like cold weather, but not freezing.  Despite only being seen during the very beginning of Spring, they like Spring air, and can sometimes overdo their stay a little if a good Spring wind is blowing through.  Being Winter dragons, they have no problem being in the cold as well.  However, this desire is much less than the other Winter dragons, and they will stay in more neutral climates if possible.
Odd enough, these dragons are omnivores.
In terms of breath attack, these dragons use an almost spiritual looking white substance.  The substance is used more for healing purposes than as an attack though.  The substance is able to help heal wounds, and is generally used for that more than violence.  Winterwings generally rely more on their claws, adaptablity, and venomous bite as weapons.  There venom won't ki.ll you in small doses, but will make you hallucinate.  In large doses, this dragon can ki.ll you with its venom.
These dragons are often found hanging out with fish.  As stated above, these dragons are almost always seen in pairs.
((NOTE:  This dragon was based off of the zodiac for March.  I combined elements of March's Western sign, Pisces (since it is the sign that takes up most of March, I chose Pisces rather than Aries), and its Eastern/Chinese sign, the Rabbit.  Being based off of the zodiac is why the dragon has starry fins.  It should also be noted that all this was simply based on the traits associated with Pisces/the Rabbit, and is not relevant to my personal opinion of those born in March.))
Hi! :)
First I gotta say.....
IT'S SO CUTE! It kind of reminds me of a bunny, toothless, and a mermaid. Lol! XD
I like how they're always seen in pairs, the dreamy expressions (hahaha!), and the pattern that resembles the night sky (very pretty).
Really hard to judge these dragons since each artist has their own "perspective" on their art. We have a hard time grading our photos in photography class.
I think yours is good in my photohgraphy class you would get A+ for the  overall attractiveness (your lines are really smooth and the coloring is amazing), originality (basing off zodiac signs), and how they're seen in the month of March (this month I find unique since it's one of the few without holidays or consistent weather), and it's another cool dragon (haha bad pun) to put on the growing list of ice dragons. Also who wouldn't want to train a peaceful dragon? Yeah yeah everyone wants to train a Skrill until you get electrocuted. XD
Have a good day! :)
And if he were MY godchild, I would let him wear LONG shorts!!!!
Hehe, thanks for replying :D!
That's the point!  Well, maybe not the Toothless part, but it's cool XD.
Since the zodiac sign it's based off is usually the fishes rather than just a fish, I figured I would have it in pairs.  I was gonna do it as a two headed dragon, but decided to save that for a later month (there is going to be one with two heads).  The pattern actually ended up looking much different from what I was originally hoping for, so I'm happy to hear that you think it's pretty.
I agree.  Grading can be har.d.  Also, your idea of what is really considered "acceptable" in terms of traits, canonness (is that even a word XD), and originality may be completely different from the artist's XD.
Lawl, the linart took forever XD.  But, it was all worth it *starts humming for no reason*.
At first, I was like, "Nah, not another ice dragon.  Pfft." But then I was like, "Well, it's supposed to be assotiated with Winter.  Uh...what goes with winter?  Ice.  Anything else?  Snow.  GAAHHH ANYTHING NOT RELATED TO THE SOLID STATE OF WATER!? No, not that would be a reasonable power at least XD ((Imagine a dragon that could make magical candy appear XD.))"
I wanted to do a nice peaceful dragon rather than a violent one.  I mean, yeah, maybe it's fun having your super head-strong nightmare, but is it fun when you get burned?  Since March was coming up, and March is usually assotiated with peacefulness (in terms of astrology, at least), why not do that one?
I'm thinking of doing dragons for the other months, so keep an eye out if you'd like :D!
Hi! :)
My Shockjaw has electoructed me more times than I can count. I'm usually happy hopping on my main OC Stormcutter and going for a flight and not have to worry about getting zapped. Hahaha! :D
No problem I judged it to the best of my abilities using what I've learned in my awesome photography class (my favorite class). My fan dragon entry has yet to be judged as well. ;)
I have way too many fan
I have way too many fan dragons... I suppose I'll just single out some of my favorites.
My first fan dragon, from when I first joined the forum, the Spirepoint Gemspitter.
Class: Boulder
Stats icon attack Attack: 20
Gound Speed: 15
Flight Speed: 17
Stats icon armor  Armor: 25
Stats icon fire Firepower: 20
Stats icon shot Shot Limit: 8
Stats icon venom Venom: 0
Stats icon jaw Jaw Strength: 30
Stats icon stealth Stealth: 5
               The Spirepoint Gemspitter is an unusual breed of dragon. When born, the dragons are usually black, but sometimes white or brown, and have no other color. As the dragon matures, crystals begin to grow from its scales, with patches of crystal continuing to grow with the dragon. These crystals can be of any type of naturally found gem, both precious and semi-precious, and even their teeth and claws are made of these crystals. Diamonds and opals are the rarest types, and are rarely seen. Crystals on the head usually take the form of horns. The crystals that are grown on the dragon’s body are essentially living crystal, and they are shed once every two years, whereupon the dragon will regrow the crystals with less flaws and greater purity. Each “molt” begets a purer jewel, until eventually their bodies are covered in flawless gems. A fully mature dragon’s body may be up to 80% covered in living crystal. At this point, they will only molt again once every five or ten years, or molt only partially when their crystals become dulled or damaged.
This dragon’s diet consists of mostly rocks and occasional meat. They can digest and will eat any type of rock, mineral, or metal that they can find. Crystal types are not passed down genetically, but develop according to which types of minerals and metals the hatchling eats during its first year of life. You will almost never find a Gemspitter with more than one type of gem growing on it. If their bi-yearly molts are left undisturbed, immature members of the species will often eat it to re-obtain the materials lost in the molt. For a dragon under ten years of age, this method of recycling is nearly essential. If they do not eat their “molt”, they may more easily become ill, or may hidewithout the nutrients. Eating the molt also causes the crystals to regrow faster. After the ten year mark, however, the juvenile dragons no longer need to eat their molt to improve their odds of survival.
                A Gemspitter’s crystal-encrusted hide serves as a great defense and is very difficult to damage or scratch. Because their claws and teeth are also made of crystal, they can scratch and chew through anything with a softer hardness than their own gem type. They can grow back damaged or missing teeth and claws within the span of a few hours. Rather than breathing fire, this dragon will chew up and spit out shards of rocks, metal, and even their own crystal at incredible ballistic speeds. These shards are often projected with enough force to completely shred all but the most heavily armored targets. In battles between members of the same species, the dragon with the hardest gem type wins.
                Gemspitter dragons are deceptively fast flyers with rather large wings. Crystals rarely grow on the wings, as they would hinder their flexibility in flight, so these are usually keptfolded against the body to prevent damage. While they are rather fast, these dragons much prefer to live their lives on the ground. Individual Gemspitters will often stake out a territory, and only migrate to new turf when they have eaten most of the available food in the area. They are considered to be quite damaging to the environment because they will deplete an area of valuable rocks and metals, so it is better to regulate the amount of these that they consume once trained. Getting these dragons on an all or mostly meat diet is highly recommended.
The Dullahandramon:
Class: Mystery
Attack: 20
Speed: 15
Armor: 30
Firepower: Unknown
Shot Limit: Unknown
Venom: 0
Jaw Strength: 13
Stealth: 5
This species of dragon is not exactly what you could call alive. They possess no body, and are, in fact, living suits of armor filled with an insubstantial mist. They are nearly incapable of stealth, as the sounds of their armor moving and clinking can be heard from quite far away. The Dullahandramon is an unfriendly, temperamental, and territorial creature that neither eats nor sleeps. If their armor is damaged, they will scavenge pieces of metal or bone to fill the missing segment. They are nearly invulnerable to physical harm, possessing no actual body to hurt, but a Dullahandramon who has most of its armor destroyed will likely retreat in embarassment. They are suprisingly fast on their feet because no matter how heavy their armor, they are not weighted down by it. Dullahandramon have never been observed using any type of fire, and it is speculated that they simply do not have any. Dullahandramon will attack any human foolish enough to wander into their territory, but care little for other dragons and creatures. The dragons usually make their homes in ruins where great treasures are stored and seem to guard them at times. The dragon will go to almost any lengths to protect that which has been entrusted to it. Only natural materials are used to make the armor of the dragon, although manmade metals, like steel and brass are occasionally present, suggesting that the Dullahandramon may have been intentionally created at some point in time.
The Gallant Corpsehunter
Gallant Corpsehunter
Class: Tidal
Size: 40 feet long, 25 foot finspan
Weight: 572 lb
Attack: 28
Speed: 20
Armor: 13
Firepower: 15
Shot limit: 5
Venom: 0
Jaw Strength: 4
Stealth: 13
The Gallant Corpsehunter is a large, semi-solitary amphibious dragon that roams the deep seas of the cold northern oceans. A rivalry with the Deepstalker dragon seems to be coded into these dragon’s very genetics, because even from a very young age, they are intensely violent toward each other. The Corpsehunter only forms pod of about 10-15 individuals during the spring, and they quickly disband with the changing of the season. Like hyenas, female Copsehunters tend to have more social power and be larger than the males of the species. For unknown reasons, alpha and beta females and males grow long tendrils above their eyes after obtaining their social status. These tendrils are packed with hyper-sensitive nerve endings that alert the dragon to minute changes in their environment.
Gallant Corpsehunters can often be observed fencing with each other for dominance, sport, or to sharpen their skills. Their favorite method of attack is to give a sudden burst of incredible speed and spear their suprised enemies on their numerous horns. Their smooth hides cover a layer of thick, rubbery fat that serves as both insulation and their main method of defense. It takes quite some effort to chew through this layer and get at the dragon’s vitals. While smooth to the touch, the Corpsehunter actually has a layer of very fine scales on its skin. When threatened, the Corpsehunter can generate a powerful bioelectrical field around itself, much like that of an electric eel, but on a larger and more powerful scale. This ability is only effective within a short range of the dragon’s body, but the voltage can reach up to around 5 million volts, enough to stun or perhaps even kill all but the most resilient of enemies.
The Gallant Corpsehunter’s favorite meals include shellfish and Icelandic cod, but they will sometimes cooperate with each other to round up and eat  many types of schooling fish as well. They will attack Deepstalkers on sight and usually attempt to kill them, but even when able to kill, they will not eat them. This proclivity to fight and fend off their dangerous rivals often results in plenty of scars and grievous injuries. Gallant Corpsehunter’s often save those under attack or being stalked by Deepstalkers, but it is unclear if this is intentional, or merely a byproduct of their seek and destroy behavior. Nonetheless, this has led them to their name.
The Candy Skull Drake
Class: Tracker
Size: 8"
Weight: 65 lb
Attack: 10
Speed: 22
Armor: 12
Firepower: 28
Shot Limit: 6
Venom: 5
Jaw Strength: 4
Stealth: 5
Relatively small, but quiet and agile, this Tracker class dragon is completely mute. From the day it is born to the day it dies, it wears the skull of its ancestors, even while growing into them. These skulls are revered, and it is said that each new generation adds a new design to the skull to commemmorate their life and death. The dragons themselves are quite reclusive, but they have a deceptively powerful fire type. The flames they shoot are black and purple, and explode into a colourful scattershot that spans the entire spectrum when they hit something, usually setting nearby things alight. (Kind of like a firework.)
As reclusive as they are, they are quite hard to pin down and tame, but make loyal, thoughtful, and emphathetic companions once tamed. They are able to sense the intentions of those around them, and are likely to flee the moment the thought of capture crosses your mind. It was once thought that these dragons only appeared to members of the living when they were mourning or celebrating the passing of a loved one, and this is partially true. Because of their empathetic nature, they are drawn to those who are in great pain. If someone nearby is suffering, the dragon has been known to dance and create fireworks displays in an attempt to cheer them up. Their diet consists of various toxic flowers, leaves, and roots, and they have a particular weakness for sweet things.
These highly intelligent dragons have an incredibly complex social structure dependant on class hierarchy. They are very knowledgeable and even possess a system of beliefs complete with its own dieties. These traits and their worshipping behaviors have led to multiple and prolonged conflict with humans, resulting in anything from being purged to being unwillingly sacrificed to appease human gods. All members of this species are female, with a male being born every fifity years if they are lucky. The male and their sire are given the highest social caste and allowed to live as they like. They are a very long-lived species, and the few males alive at any one time are allowed to breed with as many females as they wish. This, however, has resulted in a very narrow genepool, leaving the species susceptible to disease. For this reason, the species has little to no contact with other creatures, to minimize the possibility of contracting and starting an epidemic.
In days long past, legends surrounding these dragons were rampant. Their imposing and regal appearance at one point led primitive humans to worship them as gods. They were often deified, prayed, and sacrificed to, in the belief that such things would yield good harvests or healthy offspring. As humans developed, however, the dragons became hunted for any mundane reason, and the species retreated away from mankind. Each member of the species inherits their ancestor’s memories, and thus, even now, these dragons are weary of humans and the multiple evils they are capable of.
These dragons’ entire body is covered in soft, downy fur, but their wings can be of various lengths, sizes, and even types. Each dragon is born with a number of colored gems embedded in their flesh that dictate their position in society.  Dragons with featherless wings are of a lower caste than the feathered variety, and a featherless dragon born with red gems is generally regarded as a sign of impending disaster. A male born with these traits and a dark coloration is thought to signify either the end of the world, or the doom of the species. Because these dragons are genetically stagnant, most members of the species with certain traits have a common ancestor. Males will seek out females that do not possess their traits for breeding in an attempt to vary the genepool.
The social caste of each dragon is determined at birth by the coloration of their gems. Sapphire is the highest case, and can be likened to human nobility. Ruby is the equivalent of “upper class”, amethyst is upper middle-class, topaz and emerald are middle class, citrine is lower middle-class, and quartz is equivalent to humans living below the poverty line. Dragons with quartz gems are often sickly, neglected, or ignored. Males of any gem color, shape, or mutation, are regarded as kings.
Members of the species who have scaled wings instead of feathered and red gems are regarded as bringers of misfortune, and are treated about the same as quartz gem dragons. Any other gem color with scaled wings is treated normal as per the color of its caste. Members with mutated horns or gem shapes are often shunned or exiled, with the sole exception being the “short” horned mutation, which is regareded as being “feminine and cute”.
This species of dragon has disappeared from human history for so long that it is mistaken for a new species altogether, despite being quite old. Even the most ancient of civilizations have barely a whisper about them still remaining in their records. These dragons are far too intelligent to be tamed. If they associate with any creature outside of their own species, it is by choice, and choice alone. They are delicate, graceful eaters willing and able to eat both plants and animals. Their fire type is an iridescent ball of many-colored flame that burns hot enough to melt steel instantaneously.  However, this ball of flame has a relatively short range, and will begin to lose power after travelling about 10 feet. By 30 feet, the fireball will completely fizzle out.
The Titanic Rockripper
Class: Boulder
Size: MASSIVE (anywhere from 40 feet when freshly hatched to the size of a mountain range when fully grown)
Attack: 80
Speed: 5
Armor: 80
Firepower: 0
Shot Limit: 0
Venom: 0
Jaw Strength: 60
Stealth: 30
These colossal titans are so large that they often support several different types of ecosystems on their very bodies. Large, slow moving, and generally aloof, these dragons can quite realistically shake the earth. Once born, Rockrippers spend anywhere from ten to one hundred years migrating around, searching for a home. They will fast for most of this time, only eating occasionally. Plants will usually start to grow on their bodies during this period. As the parasitic plants flourish, they share the energy and nutrients that they generate from photosynthesis with the Rockripper. Because of this, a Rockripper almost never has to actually consume anything. Just as well, because a hungry Rockripper is an insatiable beast. Mating is done only once during this time, after which a female is capable of laying a single egg whenever she desires to do so. After the dragon finds the place it wishes to call home, it will tunnel a few meters into the ground, eating rocks as it goes. When far enough down, the dragon goes into a deep hibernation.
As the Rockripper sleeps, they slowly become indistiguishable from the land around them. Forests, deserts, frozen tundras, and even lakes of lava will slowly form, as if the dragon is actually a part of the land. These various habitats are often populated over time by both animals and dragons. All dragons who make this beast their home are aware that the land is alive, and as such, should the need arise, will go to great lengths to defend it as their home.  The Rockripper wakes naturally only once every hundred years. During this period of wakefullness, the dragon usually does nothing, but on rare occasion, they will rise and migrate to a new home, bringing their inhabitants with them. The sight of a lumbering mountain moving in the distance has long been attributed to hallucinations and tricks of the mind, but their movement is often accompained by great earthquakes or tsunamis. A Rockripper that is awake is regarded by the resident dragons as being their collective alpha, in spite of existing affiliations. It is this strange reverence which has caused the Rockripper to become known as an alpha species, despite having no ability, or perhaps inclination, to control dragons by force. The Rockripper can be forced awake by outside stimulus, but will awake vengeful and destructive if bothered.
The core clasped in the tail of this dragon is their weak point. If the core is damaged, the dragon, and by extension, all life that depends on it, will suffer. It takes a massive concussive force to damage the core, and core damage is a very rare occurance. During hibernation, the tail is wrapped under the body, safe from harm. Legends of massive gems buried deep underground are usually this dragon's core, mistaken for a brilliant jewel.
Rockrippers generally dislike humans. To most, humans are little more than a nuisance. These dragons are quite intelligent when they wish to be, but their personal clock runs much slower than the events around them. They are an incredibly long-lived species, and one has never been found dead of old age. These dragons take thousands of years to mature, and a "hatchling" could be anywhere from ten to a hundred years old, and their size increases quite slowly. After reaching adulthood, it is a very difficult task to convince these dragons to care about anything around them other than the life that thrives on its back. Generally, they simply cannot be bothered. They cannot fly, but a large enough Rockripper can cross the oceans without need of doing so. Some have even become islands themselves, although their heads will always be out of the water somewhere.
How you can improve
It's an okay dragon. Would be better if you drew it yourself. Most HTTYD fan dragons are based off of animals. Your reasons for what the dragon does makes no sense at all.
I'll go over each section.
Appearance: You don't need to explain it's ears go up when happy. More describe reason the dragon looks like it is relate to its habitat.
Abilities: Why might it decide to curl into a ball? Why would it attack? Blue fire has already been used by Razorwhip which can burn off human flesh from a hundred feet away you need to be a bit more creative with that.
Weakness: All dragons get sick when near Blue Oleander the only one that hasn't is the Scauldron. It's too general to state as a weakness. Why does it not have good night vision, stealth, fly fast, or good for battle?
Special Abilities: Most dragons can move their spines and retract their claws example Toothless in HTTYD 2. Pitch rate doesn't matter only in SOD for TRR. Being curious is also a general trait not enough detail.
Overall: What you need to do is go back and explain more into detail about this dragon. It's too general and I don't really see what makes it unique other than it's curl into ball attack mode which doesn't make sense either. This is all advice so you don't have to take it but I think you should ponder it.
Use THIS as a guide to creating your new species. Have fun!
The Vileclaw
I've been really sick the past few days and so I've taken a break from the computer. But I came back today solely to post my "fan dragon", the Vileclaw. I've had this idea for some time now, but I never meant for it to "exist" in HTTYD. I also spent a lot of time thinking about the drgon itself, but forgot about the design until now. I spent twenty minutes creating this sloppy representation:
I'll be redoing it (it's terrible Dx) and adding some new features to make it unique. But this is the vileclaw in the meantime.
Class: It would be classed in Sharp in HTTYD, due to its primary weapon.
Description: The vileclaw's name sounds rather sinister, but these dragons seem like the opposite. They are small, with the typical adult holding its head two feet off the ground, and come in many vibrant colors. Their snouts are hardened and beaklike, with vileclaws being highly opportunistic omnivores. The majority of their diet consists of fruit, berries, leaves, nuts, and insects, with their long necks allowing them to be good at catching frogs and lizards too. They'll also eat fish and meat when they can find it, but usually do not actively hunt and are not well equipped for eating large prey. Their favorite foods are woodlice, earthworms, berries of any kind, and bird eggs.
They possess prehensile tails and parrotlike feet, because they spend plenty of time in the trees. Vileclaws primarily grasp branches with their feet, and are capable of leaping from tree to tree with ease. They only use their tails to keep steady while on a particularly precarious perch.
They are highly social, living in large groups with which they chatter constantly. Vileclaws are also extremely curious and friendly, poking their noses into anything and anyone they meet, with no apparent fear. They do have a surprising defence, though: they secrete a deadly toxin in their mouths, which they lick onto their giant front claws. It can kill a human if left untreated, and before that happens, victims will will experience terrible pain and inflammation of the wound. This is what has earned them their name.
Despite this, vileclaws are not inherently dangerous and are almost always safe to approach. But be warned: Anger one vileclaw, and you'll get a giant swarm of nasty, hissing, enraged vileclaws attacking without mercy.
Vileclaws can be a bit more on edge in spring, when they breed. They are monogamous, and both parents incubate the eggs and raise the hatchlings. They create large stick nests near the treetops, laying 3-6 eggs that hatch within a month. Babies are altricial and completely helpless, and grow slowly. They will be able to move around on their own by about 3 months of age, but will be cared for by their parents for up to a year.
They usually inhabit densly wooded areas, and are the most common in tropical environments. They are capable of flight, but are slow and not especially manueverable. They prefer climbing, jumoing, and running to get around.
