New Dragons from RTTE promo
Dude where u get that from what episode???
From the trailer for the new season, I assume. Premiering Feb 17. Anyone have a link? :) Can't find it on YouTube.
DEDUCTION TIME LADS
So, immediately we can see two, working together. This suggests them being a social/pack dragon. They are clearly hostile at this point, and have a strong grip to be able to hold onto Toothlesses wings while he is flying upwards.
Now another obvious thing is their bright colouring and spots of scales. Usually for Dreamworks this is a sign of tough skin. Large noses, square-shaped head and their small sizes makes me think it is a Boulder or Tracker class.
What I didn't notice at first was the larger one behind them. It's clearly a different species, with green colouring, smaller, more numerous spot scales and a beaked snout. The nose is smaller, as far as I can tell the eyes are further to the side and the protuding teeth are on opposite jaws to the blue dragons. Looks to be the size of Quaken or slightly bigger, my guess would be Stoker, Boulder or just Mystery class.
While I say that, though, it is possible that the green one could be a King/Queen like Fireworms or an older one, likely a parent. The two shown are quite similar for Dreamworks standards, so it could be another case of 'get away from mah babies'
What do other people think?
They look extremely silly but I like them from what I'm seeing? Those blue guys remind me of those old school platformer games- probably because they look a bit like Ripto. Oops.
Mossy pal also looks interesting. Looks like some kind of turtle seeing the fin-like wings and the beak.
Isnt it Gobsucker from Rise of Berk?
Well I am not sure but if it is him than this is what Rise of Berk write about him:
To help it take off, build speed, and even fly straight, this Dragon releases a blast of gas from behind. Needless to say: never sneak up on a Gobsucker!
I hope not! The last thing HTTYD needs is fart jokes.
How did you get that picture?
These new dragons look cute !!!! *)
I only just now noticed the really big green one behing Toothless
Wow I really really like them!!
And yeah, I can't find this video anywhere, not even on Facebook? Where did you get it? Or at least the screencap I suppose.
I think I found that trailer, tho it wasn't updated by netflix.
I am not sure if I can post the link, since it doesn't belong to the person who posted it. However you can easily find it on youtube by typing "race to the edge season 4 trailer". Can't wait to see what this season brings us!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUHLmM16bpc here's the link for the trailer
it says that the video is restricted
That link isn't the trailer for season 4 of dragons race to the edge ur has some parts of the new episodes of dragons race to the edge. It's just a thing about voltron on Netflix. It's not the trailer xc
But it is the video where that screenshot is from. It's a trailer for both RTTE season 4 and Voltron season 2.
This is a legit still from a promo video for both Voltron and RTTE, as both have new seasons coming out. It was posted on the official Facebook page for How To Train Your Dragon (movie). The RTTE scenes appear to be from the upcoming season. I can attempt to post a link, but it probably won't work ...
IMO, the dragon below immediately reminded me of one of Chameishida's fan species :)
Guys I was probably wrong! Its not a Gobsucker but the Shadow Wings (that little ones) and Submaripper (that big one behind Hiccup). They just came out with new Rise of Berk Vallentine update. Here is what they say about them:
Hailing from the Tidal class, the Submaripper has sent many a Viking to a watery grave with its ability to create inescapable whirlpools. Just watch out for its gas bubbles.
The Shadow Wing might hunt in packs, but is still a fearsome foe in 1-on-1 combat. Its agile, intelligent, and fierce. Oh yeah, and it lobs explosive moltern lava.
I cant take screenshots now but I am pretty shure that these two dragons are that two in the picture. So yeah here you go these are the new dragons that we will see in new RTTE.
To add to other people's deductions I found this dragon also likes to hide under the wings of larger dragons when they feel threatened.
Also look at those sharp jet-like wings I assume they must be very swift and agile able to squeeze into small spaces with ease thus being able to get away from bigger predators (other dragons). The claws help them grip onto smaller objects (the edges of other dragons wings). Their intelligence is probably really high to be able to sneak up on another dragon and hide under its wing without it knowing. They will probably be even more trouble than terrible terrors especially since they're bigger and also hunt in packs.
They remind me of a super cool bird. The goshawk.
Despite this bird's size it's able to manuver through the trees with grace without hitting a single tree.
The fire type is also interesting. Molten lava is basically cooled lava that returns to a liquid form. So I assume their "fire" would start out as mostly solid rocks but then become liquid again as soon as they were expelled.
However their class is still unknown therefore I have a theory to what their class is. They could easily be classified as Mystery class because of their stealth or Stoker class because their aggressiveness and ability to shoot molten lava. I actually think this is a new Strike class dragon.
They seem to fit the classes entire description:
Blazing speed: check (I think)
Vice-like jaw strength: double check (have you've seen the rows of sharp teeth?"
Extreme intelligence: check (hiding under other dragon's wings)
Pin-point accuracy: uh maybe? no clue but probably
Powerful attacks: check (molten lava + attacks in packs + intelligence + agility)
Explosive firepower : double check
Unique ability to allow them to navigate in their respective environments/atmosphere: check (small size + wing shape)
I deduce that Shadow Wings are in the Strike Class.
I could be wrong. This is all based on my simple observation. :)
Something else that will be interesting to watch: did ROB "botch" them? I would have thought the HTTYD spin-off games would have waited until RTTE actually came out before releasing the new dragons. Now it will be interesting to see if the dragons that ROB released will match up with what we learn about them in RTTE.
Previous example of ROB changing things up is the Deathsong - in ROB the Deathsong is an individual of the Slithersong species, which is not even mentioned at all in RTTE.
Hmm, I guess I am going on the premise that RTTE is "more canon" than ROB ...

just copy and paste them in the search bar.
