my top favorite dragon tactics dragons
hello. i decided to make a list of my favorite dragon tactics dragons.
starting with number 3, we have the whispering d.eath. this dragon is kinda weak, but its spiral breth has long range and does damage over time to enemies, same with its bite. it also can recover, which is good.
number 2, we have the deathgripper. this dragon's "fire" blast does poison damage, and deals a good amount of damage aswell. it also has a swarm ability, which is also cool. it has armor, which makes it able to heal over time and buff its defensive stats.
now, my number 1 favorite dragon tactics dragon is... THE HIDEOUS ZIPPLEBACK! its blast does poison damage, and has good range, its expolsion hurts enemies around the target equally, and its charge up makes the explosion better! its a good dragon for taking out swarms of enemies.
now, an honorable mention for the deadly nadder. the nadder can use its fire from good range, and its tail spikes poison the enemy. it can also use the "hyper" ability, which makes it faster, better at dodging, and i think increases critical chance.
i hope this list helps you to choose which dragon to bring with you for dragon tactics.
Great list & tips, Indora! :3
I personally love using high level M. Nightmares, they're very helpful in some situations. Though sometimes it does depend on the elements you'll see the most in that specific round. I love it tho! :D
These dragons are easily obtainable, so in that regard they're good choices. However, I think out of all the available dragons, the Skrill and Woolly Howl are the best attackers because those guys do nothing but snipe away the enemy at long distance, not allowing them to get close enough for even a mid-range, while inflicting significant damage. Furthermore the Skrill, if unlucky enough to be surrounded, can use Electric Jacket, the only move I know of that hits every enemy from every angle (Nightmare only hits like the front three) with massive power. I detonated that in one Tactics battle, easy win. I don't use a healer but my tank is a Stormcutter that self-heals and has a ton of healpower. So for three turns it can take substantial damage that would wipe out my other two while enduring poisons and burns. For thee turns it has nothing but full health, and by the time the healing status wears off the enemies will have been picked off by high-speed, high-damage, long-range snipers. My character can act as a tank too, if all else fails. Just sit there and defend until the snipers snipe. Prickleboggles are good if you don't have/want a Stormcutter.

Actually, the Mostrous Nightmare's Aura move (Flame Jacket) does, in all my experience, deal damage to targets immediately next to it, regardless of the angle. Likewise with the Smothering Smokebreath's Aura move, Smoke Jacket. That's the defining characteristic of the Aura role: a close-range attack that takes a 4-turn cooldown and deals damage to targets on every side.
I also stan the Skrill! The movement speed, AoE ability and long-range attacks made for steamrolling are just too good to pass up. I also like using the hobblegrunt. It's slow and it doesn't have an interesting moveset at all, but it has the highest ATK stat long with the crimson goregutter. Its firepower isn't too bad, either.
I also used a stormcutter but I don't recommend it. One melee attack, a medium-range attack and unremarkable movement.
I personally prefer the Elder Sentinel in large battles, because its an amazing defensive dragons. It has lots of health, a strong, stunning wing clap, ability to heal itself and is almost invincible in defensive mode.
What I do, is stack up all my guys behind him so that the dragon hunters cloud around him and waste their actions on him, then I take them out with a stunning wing clap and throw my hiddeous zipplebacks at them. Works every time.

I honestly love using my speedstinger. he's very fast and has fairly good powers(?). Other good ones are, Sandwraith, wholly howl (someone mentioned them) and sculdrons.
The thunderdrums is also good. Its basic attack is an AoE and one shot several enemies at once when supercharged. Its bite is powerful and its health is extremely good. Its movement is not great, but if you learn how the levels' spawn the dragons, picking the order in which you check mark them before the game will allow sometimes one extra tile closer than had they been checked marked before that.
The Skrill is the best one I have used so far. The snipes, the movement, and the electric jacket... Three offensive attacks for varying distances. EDIT: Actually, the jacket does the 820 damage which can one shot mid to upper tier enemies. Its basic attack is about half of the jacket damage. Its health right now is much to be desired, but if you play a Skrill from behind while others take the brunt, then Skrills are probably one of the best if not the best dragon for Dragon Tactics.
Monstrous Nightmares are also good with their AoE second ability, also their flame jacket at close range.
Really, any time you are able to either one shot an enemy or have an ability to damage or take down multiple targets, these are the skills you should be looking for in a great Dragon Tactics dragon.
My viking as is has a basic attack of 1000+ and an axe throw of 1300 XD. With more damage boost, my guy can crit for 5,525 damage right now. XD Overkill... Very much so. XD
Do you need to level it up to be able to make it a titan???
Yes I love to use the zippleback too, I never do a big battle without it
i like to get my zippleback in a swarm af hunters, and then i use his explotion atack, and then move him back so that my viking can heal him.
hm, guess i will be leveling my skrill and when i can purchase gems with my membership, titan my skrill. i also want to hatch and titan a wooly howl, and my speed stinger. i love speed stingers.
